Biography
Ben Law grew up in the Seattle human enclave as one of five brothers and a collection of miscellaneous orphaned children who were taken in by David and Judy Law, the community’s formal education teachers and weekend scavengers. All of Ben’s immediate family is still alive, and the community considers the Law family particularly lucky.
However, the family luck didn’t extend to Ben’s wife, Katherine, who unexpectedly went into early labor. There were complications, screaming, blood, and in the end, vampires. The community banded together and dispatched half a dozen vampires and saved Katherine’s baby, but it was too late for the young mother. Ben’s daughter, Katy, is currently 9 years old, and for 9 years, she’s been the center of his world.
Ben is a full time scavenger. He leaves Katy with his parents during the day.

Personality
Ben is cautious and it works for him. He wants to live long enough to see his daughter grown.

Prophecy
Ben was ambivalent, until his daughter explained to him what the Elder told her. Her smile and hope make him want it to be true. Mostly he wants a future where his daughter isn’t exsanguinated or dies before her time.
