Back in 2013 Desire and I made Castaway but it never picked up or went anywhere. Desire and I worked hard for some creative development of the plot, since we didn't want this to be "just another lost at sea" roleplay, however, I have made some changes and this will be going in a different direction than our original roleplay.

More than 1000 ships and planes have disappeared in the Bermuda triangle area over the past five centuries and continue to do so. And all these happen when apparently there are no human errors, equipment failures or even natural disasters. Strangely, the ships and aircraft just vanish when everything seems to be okay.

Many believe that Devil is at play here. The area also is called the Devil's Triangle.

The facts however are quite far from what is generally known or believed to be true. There are many stories and myths created through sheer imagination by writers who have used them rampantly to draw publicity to their books. In many cases, the facts got blurred. But one thing which is beyond doubt is, far too many incidents have taken place in this area for it to be ignored casually or interpreted to be just another normal ocean area.

Pay close attention, never ever, by any means, go near the Bermuda triangle. Not all of the Myths and rumors are fake, some of them are so very true that it would keep you awake at night. And there's more. Things you never would have thought of, things that would make a grown man shake in fear. If you are here, and you are reading this, you are in grave danger.

I regret to say that there is no turning back now though. Good luck.

The disappearance of The Duchess


Whether you work for Royalty Cruise Lines as a staff member on the ship, you won your way on through a contest/luck, or you paid your way like most of the passengers, you had a ticket in your hand to set sail on the prized cruise liner The Duchess on June 13th, 2014.

1st class or 3rd class. it doesn't matter. You were on the ship that fateful June night.

The Duchess cruise liner, holding 1,845 passengers, set sail from Miami Florida on June 13th, 2014 and was never heard from again. It's course was to sail the lines of the infamous Bermuda Triangle from Miami, to Bermuda, to Puerto Rico. All seemed fine. The crew was able. The ship was in perfect running condition. The route was mapped out, and to top it all off, the captain of The Duchess had sailed the same route a hundred times before and was confident in his ability to get his ship to each of the three locations safely. The plans were set.

But things don't always go just as planned now do they?

You arrive on the ship and settle into your cabin just as the vessel is setting sail. The weather is beautiful, and you spend the day in absolute bliss, enjoying The Duchess's many, many luxuries. Night time rolls around and you retire to your cabin, comfortable, safe, and secure expecting a great vacation.

But things don't always live up to expectations now do they?

A noise over the P.A wakes you and you sit up in bed to listen to the captain talking.

"There's been a sudden change in the weather. We've been blown off course, but should be back on track in no time. There is no need to panic if you feel a slight tossing in the boat, that is just the storm." There was a slight pause, and the sound of arguing in the back ground.

"We also advise that you do not venture out onto the decks during this time as it may be dangerous. Have a good night folks, we'll be back on the correct route by morning." The voice cuts out.

Paranoid, you now refuse to sleep. Water crashes against the side of the boat, rocking it wildly, wind whistles outside the porthole in your room. Meanwhile, the captain struggles to get The Duchess back on track, battling the elements restlessly. The next day comes and goes and still the vessel is not on its correct route. The storms hold up for three days as the ship gets swept further and further away from it's planned course by the seemingly random storm. Even back at home, the storm was not found on the radar for some odd reason.

On the fourth day, the whirlwind finally stops and the captain is able to regain control of his vessel. The sea is suddenly eerily calm and you are allowed to walk out onto the deck again. Around noon, a thick fog begins to form around the ship. It's impossible to see more than five inches in front of your face and the air is filled with a metallic electricity. Again, the captain's voice comes on over the P.A.

"This is your captain speaking. Please do not panic. We seem to be passing through some kind of electrical fog." There was static.

"If you can find your way to your cabins, please do so at this time. We are slowing down a little bit to avoid hitting anything until we come through this fog." His voice cut off. Little did you know that would be the last time you would hear from your captain. The fog does not give up and the captain can no longer rely on his radar for the mysterious electric cloud is causing his instruments to go haywire.

With all the decks now unusable, and most of the luxuries of the cruise taken away, you decide the best thing to do is sleep.

So you drift off. No pun intended.

When you wake, this time, things are different. A loud blaring noise fills the air. The alarm for a wreck. Panicked screams and running feet can be heard out in the hallway. You run out to find that the halls are lit, eerily, by flashing red lights, bringing your view of the sea of rushing people in and out of darkness.

Panicked, you rush into your cabin. You only have time to pack a few things in a bag before a staff member barges into your room and shoves a life vest in your hands, telling you to get above decks and onto a lifeboat. The cruise line has hit something under the sea. You grab the vest and rush above deck to find that the fog has not yet lifted, and because of that you cant see the giant hands that clutch the sides of the ship, pulling it down.

The only sounds are panicked shrieks and sobs, running feet and splashes as people, blinded by the fog and stampeded in the frenzy, unknowingly fall to their deaths over the sides of the ship. The deck is absolute chaos. People are being trampled to death and from somewhere in the distance you hear a gunshot. The panicked passengers will do anything to secure their spot in a lifeboat and fast.

You stumble, trip. Your loved ones are separated from you or already dead, most of third class has already sunken below water. You've seen the movie Titanic, but never thought you'd be living it. Suddenly the ship jerks up then down, the sound of metal bending is deafening, and one way or another, you fall over bored, into the lukewarm ocean water.

You go beneath the surface, sinking for a split second under the water. That's when you see it. The large, lanky sea monster looks at you, and as your eyes meet, it glows a bright blue for a second, and then it turns away, and your hurtling back up to the surface.

Unlike other unlucky passengers, you find something to hold onto, something to keep you afloat, and the waves start to carry you away. From afar, all you can see of The Duchess is a large, coiling metallic cloud. And then the explosion. Fire fills the air. Even from your distance, your skin burns and the ocean feels hotter.

When the smoke clears, the fog mysteriously disintegrates and you look upon what's left of The Duchess.

Nothing. No monster, no ship. Nothing

There's not even any wreckage. No trace that the ship had ever been there at all. Everything that had been enveloped in the fog has now vanished into thin air. You look across the vast ocean for any signs of survivors, bodies, wreckage, but there is nothing from what you can see. You seem to be in the only surviving life form. Stranded. Smack in the center of the dangerous Bermuda Triangle.

But your wrong. There are others like you, floating along. and there is one thing that connects you all. You all had lay eyes upon the Sea Monster, and lived.

You wake up on a deserted island. This island is placed right in the center of the Bermuda Triangle. You are to survive, and try to get a long with your fellow standees, but that's not all. That journal entry at the top was found in an underwater cave on a ledge near the shoreline, the rest of the journal was seemingly burnt. There's signs that there were once other people trapped here, and you're stuck in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle one of the most mysterious places on earth, where anything can happen.

The survivors begin developing supernatural powers that are dangerous to both themselves, and each other, as rivalries between group members become heated. And there is the even freakier, supernatural occurrences that haunt the survivors night by night. Nightmares haunt the survivors, and it seems the very Monster that wrecked their ship, is trying to tell them something, to keep them safe.

Can you solve the mysteries of the infamous Bermuda Triangle? Or will you be driven mad by the in explainable occurrences?

Rules


{ Reservations }

Please reserve characters in the OOC. I won't accept any random submissions, no matter how awesome they are. Also, this is not a first come, first serve role-play and you might have to compete for your spot should another person show interest. If you reserve a character, they will be chosen based on creativity, depth, length, and originality. The more creative and detailed your character sheet, the more likely you'll get accepted, I will not accept anyone with a seriously lacking character.

{ Literacy }

As far as Literacy goes, if you cannot make a proper sentence, please do not join this role-play. While I do not expect you to be an advanced literate role-player, I would expect you to know how to use spell-check and have basic grammar skills Not only will I be looking for detail in your character sheet, but proper grammar and spelling as well. This role-play is to be literate, meaning posts are to be kept at a minimum of 200+ words. I know we are not perfect but at least try to be semi-literate. As for reservations, What face claim are you going to use for your character? The code for reservations is your favorite quote and who said/wrote it, and find a way to tell me what your favorite color is without making it obvious. I want to see who reads the rules and who doesn't.

{ Commitment }

I am aware that we all have lives outside of role-playing and our computer screens. Some of us either attend school or have a full-time job, sometimes both. All I ask is that you post at least twice a week. If, for any reason, you find yourself unable to post for x-amount of time, please notify me. I do not bite, I understand exams are around this time of the year (I have them myself) and that all of our schoolings end at different times, but at least try to stick around.

This role-play is meant for you to grow as a role-player and hopefully expand your writing skills as well, and we also want this roleplay to grow, if things go as planned, if we finish this roleplay I will make a part two for it, so this kind of ties in with commitment, I might even go a RP before the world ended. Just have fun with this, okay guys? I want everyone to enjoy themselves, and I do NOT want the rules to stop any of you from joining, it may seem like a lot, but really, when you get down to it, it's not.

I must say, this RP does look amazing! I am actually almost done watching the TV series called "Lost" on Netflix.. and this RP totally reminds me of it! So I'm in!

I was hoping I could bring in another female character... if that is alright with you.

Her FC will be Evangeline Lilly and I am thinking about making her twenty-one years old.
