Scott's eyes widened. "I always feel watched, like they're always close," she continued, becoming distressed. "And a man in a black cloak-" She had to stop herself, forcing herself to breathe. "A cloaked man attacked me."

"Shhh... Nobody is here now." Scott said, holding her carefully. She felt so helpless. He had to protect her. Scott closed his eyes, while she gripped his jacket. Genesis began to tremble as Scott placed his hand on her soft, brown hair. "I'm going to talk to my father about this. I won't let that thing touch you again." He tightened his grip on Genesis, as if someone was coming for her. "I'm sorry- I'm sorry I wasn't there..." He murmured. "This is all my fault..." His voice began to crack. He took Genesis's wrist and pulled back from the embrace. "Patrol is over. You're going inside whether you like it or not. I'm going to my father as soon as you get to your room." He felt forceful, but he wanted to get his point across to Genesis. He wouldn't let someone or something take her away from him. He thought he had her trust now, and he wouldn't let it go.

It felt like she was melting, as if she was going to become a puddle of warmth. Her breathing calmed slowly in responce to the hand on her head. Something about that touch made her feel safer. His voice made her feel safer. He made her safer. And that was a good feeling, she decided. But it felt like it was wrong to pull him into her situation. He didn't deserve to share the negative feelings buzzing around her head; he didn't deserve any of it. The cloaked man had seemed awfully familiar. If only she could remember. If only her memberies were still with her maybe she could try to identify him.

Guilt riddled across her eyes. Why did he think it was his fault? No, that wasn't right, he shouldn't feel that way. Yet before she could say anything he had her wrist - thankfully not the one that was hurt - and was pulling away. No. No, she didn't want to leave his arms. She'd finally found a way in and now she was being forced out. It hurt even though he was only doing it for her own protection.

"I'll go inside," she said quietly, mismatched eyes staring at her shoes. "If you take back what you said." Genesis glanced up at him briefly before returning her gaze to her shoes. "It isn't your fault. Take it back."

Scott nodded slightly. Anything to protect her, and make her feel safe. "I take it back. It's not my fault." He lied. He let go of her wrist, he knew she would follow. His eyes turned towards her hurt wrist. Bruised. He would find that man, and hurt him just like he'd hurt her. Scott turned to her, "You'll be safe going up to your dorm room. I'm going to my father." He looked at her, still scared. "You'll be safe." Scott turned to go to his father's office. He hated to leave Genesis so soon.

"I'll be fine," Genesis pressed, guilt gnawing at her conscience.

Damn she'd made him worry. That was far from her intentions, though she'd known he would worry anyhow. The brunette listened to what he said to the tick before heading off to her room. At one point she'd had a dorm-mate but it seemed like those who stayed with her couldn't exactly stand her difficult personality. Actually, it wasn't that she was difficult, it was that she really didn't give a crap about people's personal problems - okay, that was wrong too, she gave a bunch of crap about them, but her methods of showing concern or worry always came out hurtful and distant. Genesis hated that part of herself. She wasn't built to please others. She was built to get the job done.

Once in her room she leaned her back against the door and put her hands over her mouth and nose in a manner of shock. Her petite frame slid down to the floor, worry glazed across her mismatched eyes. Who was this intruder and why did he seem so familiar? By the way he'd sniffed her bleeding hand she was sure that he was a vampire. Had she not bit his hand, she might have been put into a life-changing situation. It took her several minutes to collect herself before she finally crossed the room to the small sink in the corner. Genesis turned on the cold water and splashed her face, rubbing the cool liquid into her skin. She was too stressed out, too paranoid. Hands on the sink, she looked at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were bloodshot and her uniform was a mess - how could she have shown this side of her to Scott? Just the thought of it embarrassed-- a movement in the corner of the mirror. She twirled around, drawing her gun, but found no-one there.

"Shit," she muttered, lowering her weapon. Exhausted, she trudged across the room and collapsed onto her bed. She rolled onto her back, eyes upon the ceiling. "So much for not being attacked," she thought aloud and raised her right hand into the air to inspect her wrist.
