Court of Vaeyn

The court where Vaeyn rules is unusual. The four ancient clans of nobles- Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. And she is part of them all. But, as always, rivalries exist. (WE NEED A HEIR OF AUTUMN TO BEGIN)

Introduction

Queen Vaeyn rules over the Kingdom of Tempore. She is part of the High Royal Family. Her palace is in the very center of the Kingdom, where one can walk on all of the lands of the four royal families. There are four noble families, usualy called the four royal families. Each one is its own part of the kingdom and plays an important role.
The people of Summer are known to be lively and easily angered. They are volatile, and one will find that many times, they are too funloving to see the seriousness of a situation. They are always there to uplift the mood, and they are a place where merrymaking commences for the simplest of reasons. They are often hasty.
The people of Winter are cool, calm, and collected. Unlike the Summer children, their children are taught to maintain expressionless faces. They anger quickly as well, and they are known to be able to surprise you very easily. They are known for their music. You often find that they are often perceptive to injuries, and can treat them quite well.
The people of Spring are known to be springy, bouncy, and quite changeable. Sometimes, they will be less open, sometimes they will be veey open. They are known for their large variety of flowers, plants, and are skilled in arts. They are also people who are quite surprising, for they have many talents that you cannot always see.
The people of Autumn are known to be quiet. They are lively, and bright, and speak when they need to speak. They excel in cooking, perhaps because a large variety of foods can be grown on their lands. The people of Fall are also known to never be hasty, and judge carefully before making any sort of decision. They are not quick people, and can hurt you emotionally very easily, and uninterntionally.
The High Royal Family has the blood of all four royal families, and traits of all of them as well. The latest ruler is Queen Vaeyn, married, but still in charge of the kingdom. She rules fairly, and she is just, but she cannot do anything about the rivalries, and also the dislike some of the courts have of each other. Her firstborn daughter, Alyxis, who is being trained to follow her mother's example for when she becomes Queen, is helping her mother, and they have devised a plan to try to unite all four royal families.
To every kingdom, an invitation is sent. The heirs and the children of each of the royal families are invited to the High Royal Family's estates, away from the main castle. It is still part of every kingdom, so each person attending will not be too homesick. High Queen Vaeyn, and her daughter, Royal Princess Alyxis, think that the heirs to each kingdom, and their siblings, should come to the estate so that future rulers can meet and interact with each other. She promises that she will make sure no harm comes to them, but she believes that it will be a great opportunity for all the children.
So there they are: a group of Princesses, Princes, and the High Royal Princess-attempting to find a way to get along with each other, for the duration of their stay at the family estate of the High Royal Family. Each of them is allowed, if they so wish, to bring anything from their own lands, and to bring personal maids, companions, pets, or guards. And Queen Vaeyn knows it will be a long while before they all agree with each other, but she knows it will work.

Alyxis
I rubbed my temples. Oh, dear, this was going to be quite a confusing time. And I didn't even know how long it would take to get everyone to get along.
I walked out to my mother, who laughed. "Darling, Alyxis. You really did..." I was wearing my informal court clothes: maroon loose breeches that looked like skirts that weren't very full, with a flowing pale creamy shirt, done with crimson trimmings. I wore no shoes, I could not stand them most days. In my loose hair, I had placed a bright red flower from the Summer Kingdom gardens behind my ear. I wore simple pearl earrings.
My mother, Queen Vaeyn, was dressed properly, in a dark green, simple, and yet elegant gown. Her red hair was mostly loose, but for two small braids used to contain the gorgeous, fiery mass. In some of her hair, tied at intervals, were pale green flowers, again from the Summer Kingdom gardens, and she wore a beautiful necklace of pale green, clear stones.
I smile. "But Mama, soon enough they will see me, always dressed like this. Should they not get used to it now?"
Her eyes crinkle up. "Yes, I suppose they should. Let us go." Never mind that it was highly improper, both my mother and I slid down the banisters of the grand staircase of the guest floor of the palace to the main doors. It was here that we would greet the heirs and children of the other Kingdoms. There was at least one delegate from every Kingdom, thank goodness. That was the one thing I had been worried about, as well as Mama, though she tried to hide it.
I look up at her, exceptionally tall, even in these flat soled shoes she wore. "Now we wait."
She laughed again. "Yes. I am sure you are dying of impatience to mediate fights between the rest." My mother was gently teasing me, knowing that I would be irked.
"Mama!" I protested. But I was laughing as well.
We both looked up expectantly at the great doors as they began to open. Which one of the heirs or children had arrived?

Frost
I am about to walk in to the room with the most powerful royals in it, I think. Maybe I'm not wearing the right thing.. I look down at the traditional warrior cloths from my home. A sleeveless tunic with wolf fur along the edges, a pair of breaches and some heavy boots. "Eh, I look fine." I mumble. I walk in to the room, it's amazing. The best of all of the lands. When I see the queen I bow stiffly " my lady." I say. Then I turn to the heir, what was her name I always seem to forget.... Oh yes Alyxis. I nod politely to her " heir, it is my pleasure to introduce the royal children of the snow." I grin my signature lopsided grin " these are my twin siblings," I gesture to them. " pride," he bows and repeats my greeting. "and Fury." my little sister smiles widely and cursesys " I am so happy to be here!" she says in her singsong voice. I smile at her, she is one of the few people I can actually stand from my country. " and I am Edgar, but please call me frost it just has a better ring to it."

Vaeyn
I smile delightedly, inclining my head to each in turn. It was so like the Winter Kingdom to be prompt. "Well, Frost it shall be!"
After all, being on a first name basis...
Alyxis interrupts. "Did you bring anything with you that would need to be placed in your rooms?"
She was smiling, and I suddenly remembered how well she got along with kids. If Frost, as he preferred to be called, had a soft spot for the twin siblings, it may be that we may be able to get them to get along.
And I had to agree, the children were cute. Especially Fury, who I remember as not having the same characteristic face as the other people of Winter. She seemed to be such a... sunny child, oddly enough.
Alyxis had responded with a slight bow to Frost, and same with Pride and Fury. True, she should really have curtsied, but in her outfit... no, I shall not even think of that. But she was always polite, and accorded everyone the same level of respect, except for when she was angry. I smile wryly, remembering the times we had had to break down the doors to her rooms.
Alyxis turned to stare piercingly at me. I immediately knew that she was aware of what I was thinking. "Mama! How could you!?!"
I laughed. "See, Alyxis is just upset because she has figured out that I am thinking about the times we have had to-"
"Mama!" She yelped.
I continue. "-break down the doors to her rooms."
My daughter sighed. "If you're going to laugh, you might as well." She grumbled, goodnaturedly. Everyone always poked fun of her because of those incidents, but she did have such a bad habit of locking herself in her rooms.

I smile " It's alright, I once Erm, " I rub the back of my neck. I laugh " well...."

" Burnt down the royal library." Pride says bluntly " he burnt it all. Mother was so angry she almost banished him."

I glare at him . "Thank you pride, I'm not what you call a normal winter royal.

A laugh escaped past my lips. "I'm so-" I burst into laughter. True, I love reading, but I found the exchange between the siblings entertaining to watch- and the fact that Frost had done something like that... well, proof that he wasn't completely emotionless.
My mother smiled. "And am I allowed to ask why you burned it down, or will I have to ask the young gentleman? Or perhaps the young lady?"
She found the situation humorous as well. I finally stop laughing. "Well, seems like I'm not the one who Mother would claim is insane."
SHe laughed. "I don't say you're insane. Your way of doing things is insane. Like the time you jumped off the roof because you wanted to be a bird?"
I sigh and turn faintly pink. "I was too young!"
My mother laughs. "You were 12!"
I mutter something, unhappily.

" He got banned from there for letting polar bears in. They almost ate the librarians." fury says " I thought it was really funny, mother not so much."

I laugh and nod " and that was after you got in trouble for yelling out during a meeting of court. So mother took all of her rage out one me."

I laughed. "Well, can't blame them! Though I do think polar bears are cute."
Alyxis was still laughing, this time after hearing about the polar bears. She had a... sometimes happy nature, entertainingly so.
"But it's still not like the time someone started letting frogs loose in the palace. This was when I was in my early teens, and living here. They would appear from seemingly thin air. They'd be in the bread basket at dinner, and in the soup, or in the marzipan figures. They would be in the quivers, in the embroidery baskets, in the chests of clothes, in the hay troughs of the horses, in everything! To this day, no one but the culprit knows who it was, though I would love to know who it was."
The last part was to throw off Alyxis, who might well guess that it had been me leaving those frogs everywhere. But the faces of the ladies-in-waiting, and of the rest of the palace, had been immensely entertaining. And I had been angry at everyone during those weeks of frogs. So immensely angry. Finally, finally, I had had to stop, but only because I didn't want to be caught. It had been one of the best tricks ever.

I smile " well my siblings and I have used up too much of your time, I'm sure there are other things such an important lady
like yourself needs to be doing." I bow " thank you for the wonderful conversation. Which way are our rooms?" I look around.

I smile. "Mama's not busy right now, but if you want to go to your rooms..." I left the invitation hanging.
"There's just a slight problem- you might have some trouble going to your rooms, because the stairs go up and then down. Shall we?" I asked, smiling wider, nervously toying with a pearl earring. A stud. I was, of course, not going to behave very well, and I wasn't sure how Frost, Pride, or Fury, were going to take it. I didn't behave well on most occasions anyway, to hear the court speak. Mother thought that I was just too... blunt.
She smiled. "As it is, I do have to check with the Informal Court to ask about some issues. Something about boundaries of Tempore." She frowned slightly, giving us an apologetic smile, and walked away quietly.
"Now... if I could be like her, there wouldn't be problems." I murmured quietly, to myself.

I smile widely "we shall." I wonder why I never really was a fan of Alyxis before? I think, she seems like a lot of fun.

Pride looks like he wants to join in on the fun, but remembers that he is the only proper winter prince and keeps his mask on and says in a monotone " after you princess."

I laugh. "Race ya to the top of this staircase?" I don't wait for a reply but take the stairs two at a time, beckoning to them. "And now, we turn left, go up these stairs..."
I go up these, losing the pins that were in my hair. "And then we go down this one." I, of course, slid down the banister without thinking twice. THen I looked back up at them, then realized I had probably made a huge mistake. Well, let's see how they react to me. And my wonderfully immature behaviour that did not befit the heir to the Kingdom.

I shrug and race up the stairs after her then down the banister. " wow, this is way more fun than being back home." I say.
Fury fallows me giggling the whole way. Pride othe other hand simply scowls and shakes his head at our immaturity. " You two are a disgrace to the winter line. If mother could see you know you would be disowned for sure."

I look at him, "Then its a good thing she's not here now isn't?"

Catrinak hurried into the castle, a red blush taking over her cheeks. I'm late, i'm late! Her mass of a strapless white gown billowed behind her, and her arms, wrapped in rose vines to represent sleeves, were curled into 90 degree angles as she sprinted into the castle and slowed her step. She walked slowly into the grand hall, where some of the children of winter and the heir of Summer talked atop the banister. A shiver ran down her spine; she despised the winter as much as they despise her.

"I beg your pardon, but am I interrupting anything here?"

I laughed at the two winter heirs on my tail. Then I heard the doors open.
"HI!" I yelled cheerfully, from the view I had of the double doors. "Welcome Princess Catrinak!"
To the winter heirs, I added. "I'm going to have to go down, or she'll get lost trying to find us. Not that I mind. More banisters!"
I giggled and raced up the stairs, not waiting for them to reply or even to follow. I turned right on the bottom, and then slid down the banister, then again down the other one, to land in front of Princess Catrinak with a bow. "Welcome." I said simply.

I chace after her, god she can run fast. I jump up on to the banister and surf down it like I do with my foot sled back (ooc:its a snow board. Just didnt want to straight out say it.) home. I jump off of the banister at the las second. This was The first look I got of the new person. My eyes widen, shes the spring heir but... Wow, she's beautiful. I shake off the momentary inability to speak. " princess Catrinak." I say and bow. " I'm glad you could make it."

"Good day to you, Alexis," Catrinak bowed back at her, once again bowing to the other royal without getting a look at him. Once she looked up, her knees went through a battle to sink into the floor. The winter heir, her biggest and worst enemy, is breath-taking beautiful. "Well, I am glad to be here with my fellow heirs. You can call me Cat  I'm sorry, your name has slipped my mind." Catrinak finished with a dark rose blush on her cheeks. She placed her hands in the folds of the skirt of her dress, awkward from the handsomeness of her dark enemy. Maybe, maybe, Cat would break the rules for this winter beauty.

" Frost, my name is frost." I say taking her hand and kissing it softly. Then I gesture to my sister " this is Fury, the nice twin." she smiles widely. Then I point to Pride " that sour looking boy over there is my brother Pride, ignore him he is a constant downer." at this pride scoffs

Re: [OOC] Court of Vaeyn

Can I have the heir of spring? ;D

Re: [OOC] Court of Vaeyn

I just realized I made a mistake. The Kings and Queens are people who make up the Council of Vaeyn, so they would be seen and encountered, but they're more like supporting characters. So, yeah, I need to edit that.

Re: [OOC] Court of Vaeyn

I'd like to play an 'other child' from Autumn, but I believe the King and Queen are still open, so...would that be allowed. If needed, I'd be willing to double up and do either the King or Queen. Or both.

Re: [OOC] Court of Vaeyn

I say yes, yes, yes, and yes. Wait, that was one too many. Never mind, I just said yes to all of you, m'kay?
