Crash II: The Replacements

0 INK

(You don't need to know Part One to join) A new group has crashed onto this deathly island, and this new group has much more coming than just a boring deserted island.(NEED ACTIVE CHARACTERS!!)

2,103 readers have visited Crash II: The Replacements since Jayhawker010 created it.

Introduction

...

Crash II
The Replacements

This is the original "Crash". If you want to understand more of the background of the island and what happened fifty years prior to this, then I suggest you read the summaries in the OOC topic of this url.

Crash

One more note before we start. If you don’t think you’re going to be very active eventually. DO NOT JOIN. The first Crash went to over 600 posts, and I don’t want this one to go under a hundred. I want this one to be as successful as the first, so please don’t bother joining if you’re going to disappear, thank you.

___________________________________

Fifty years ago, in 2011, a group of students from South Carolina went missing. They crashed onto an unknown island that was invisible to the rest of the world. While they were there, they discovered many secrets of the island such as the following:

There were inhabitants to the island, who were seemingly primitive, but soon realized to be much more capable than what the survivors thought.

The tribe on the island had possesion of odd, glowing crystals that actually gave anyone who touched them, a single strange power incapable of an average person.

On the island there was a portal at the top of a 'volcano' that led to a second island that was incapable of escaping as far as they knew.

The island is invisible to the rest of the world.

The tribe actually sent clones of the survivors back to the outside world and also had certain tribe members go out to the real world and keep an eye on the clones.

There is a portal to and from the outside world and the island, but can only be used by touch of one of the tribe members.

The group in 2010 discovered much more, yet now that fifty years have passed, there is many new things to discover. The tribe eventually watched as each and every one of the survivors died either by their own stupidity, or from lack of supplies. After this, the tribe took the dead bodies, and ate them. They couldn’t kill them themselves, because it is against their beliefs to kill a human to eat it. It has to die a natural death, which is why they control people to crash on their island and slowly kill themselves.

__________________________________

Now, they need a new group, but need to be more careful this time. Last time, the group were the smartest they had ever had, and caused many issues for the tribe. They are going to make sure this won’t happen again, and they won’t have any complications with their replacements.

Day One: 8:20 pm: Beach

Corbin rolled his eyes when Luke ran to get Alice. So far, Corbin didn't like her too much and had good reason. Again though, Corbin was a nice guy and was easily forgiving. He wouldn't judge her off her personality on the first day, and hopefully she would warm up to them as well. "Alice is another one of the survivors. So far there are four of us, five now I guess," he said looking down torwards the shore where Raychelle was meeting up with another woman.

"Well, as you can see, there is plenty of space for you all to live comfortably. Well, at least comfortable as it gets on a deserted island," Nick said and sat down on one of the stumps around the large fire pit. As Corbin looked around at the camp, it was quite impressive. The huts looked very carefully thought out and sturdy. They all were probably eight by eight feet wide and seven feet tall walls. The walls were made of wood that looked shaved into farely clean cut boards. The roof was thatch and tied at the top. A couple steps led up to the open doorway that had a roll down leaf door, and this repeated for two windows on each side of each hut.

"You and your group were pretty smart. These are pretty sweet huts," said Corbin, as he sat down across from Nick, the smoke in between the two's sights.

"Thanks, but most of this wasn't me. I came here about twenty years after most of my friends. Me and Ray. I'll explain later," said Nick. "I don't want you completely freaked out by me the first day, so I'll let you all see this island for yourself before you make fun of my stories. Honestly, I'd be afraid of me if I heard all the stories I know of this island."

Corbin nodded and then though to himself. Was this guy crazy? He had been here on this island alone for at least a little bit and Corbin felt bad for the guy. What if Corbin turned into what Nick is in fifty years. What if he's the only one alive and is stuck on this island, going crazier than Nick is. He wouldn't even think about that. And then he remembered Eli.

"Nick? Have you seen a woman around my age, short with blonde hair?" And then the dreaded shaking of the head came from Nick, and once again Corbin was shot down. Where was she? Even if she was dead, Corbin needed to find her so he knows, no matter what the conclusion of her whereabouts were.

Luke blinked at her and shook his head running over and placing coconuts on the leaf as well, then taking the other side of the leaf and helped her carry it towards where the others are. "Umm, I don't think he does, He's old and so far all he's offer us is the camp so, I'm just thankful to have a hut to call my own you know" He said with a slight smile. Once they reached the other camp he helped her place the leaf near the fire pit where Nick and Corbon were at. "Well this is our food that we got, I hope it works.. He stated quite calmly."

He looked on at the huts, it was strange seeing huts that weren't occupied. Then again Nick said he'd been here fifty years, so obvious to the point there hadn't been anyone in the other huts for fifty years; or some time around here. This was quite a realization, having hope now seemed to be pointless. He took a place on the side of Nick and Corbin. "Sooo, I've my own question, if this island is invisible that pretty much mean's we're stuck here right?" He had to ask; it was a question everyone wanted to ask but was to afraid of the fact they could be stuck here.

When Corbin introduced the group Raychelle gave a small nod, she wasn't feeling up to being all smiles right now, not after hearing that this island was invisible and such. All she wanted was to bunk down and rest, rethink everything in the morning. She'd lost her appetite but knew starving herself would do nothing."I'll um...I'll go back for the coconuts and whatnot, no need it it going to waste."
While Corbin and Nick conversed more Raychelle backtracked to their starter camp and passed Luke and Alice on the way. She heard their voices before she saw them, but side stepped in order not to get run over. They'd grabbed the large leaf with the crabs on it she noticed and so she found the coconuts and began picking them up until her arms were full. Slowly she made her way back, following the dot of light in the distance where the others were.
When she reached their new camp She dropped the coconuts near the base of a nearby tree so as to keep them away from the fire and allow them shade in the daytime. Still bummed about hearing that they were practically stuck here with no way off the island Raychelle chose to sit away from Nick and Corbin, still near the fire, but also at a distance. She pulled her legs up and cradled her head on her knees, wrapping her arms about her legs and hugging herself to try and comfort the fact she was here.

"I'm pretty sure that's how it works," said Nick. "We pretty much covered the whole island and there is one...door I guess off this island, and one door to this island. The 'door' to this island is one way accesible for regular people like us. You have to speak some weird language that only the tribe knows to 'unlock' the door. The other 'door' that leaves the island is through the top of the volcano up there," he said pointing up to the large mountain behind them, far in the forest. I don't know where it goes, but I'm not so sure it's to the outside world again.

"A few of us went inside the volcano, but never came back. This could mean they got back to the regular world, but a member of the tribe here made us think otherwise," Nick finally stopped talking and swallowed. The survivors were staring at him like he was some sort of crazy guy, and to be honest he was getting tired of it. They would soon learn that he's not crazy though.

"I'm tired, and this is confusing me and giving me a headache," said Corbin standing up. "I'm just gonna crash in one of those huts if that's ok." Nick nodded in approval and Corbin walked over to one of the huts to sleep for the night.

Day One: 3:00 a.m-9:00 a.m

Planes were dull. Long, boring, and entirely uncomfortable. The low hum of the engines was a catalyst in many naps when it came to long flights. And from the choking snores that piped around Friday's head, it seemed like the lull of a vibrating plane had a few victims already. Glancing down to check that slim watch on her wrist, Friday couldn't help the long release of air that escaped her mouth. Great, she thought, two hours down, and three more to go.. For the past hour Friday had been sitting absolutely still, eyes closed tight to control the rapid beating of her head. To have a panic attack now wouldn't do her any good, and only would accomplish in getting everyone on the plane upset. Not to mention the weird stares and snide comments from “normal” folk that would only serve further in Friday gathering reasons why she should have never of left her apartment. Anna. It was just one person who was able to pull Friday from the hermit hole she called a home. A dying individual with no family ties, hell, Anna wasn't even a friend really. But the two women, almost three decades in age difference were ultimately pulled together by a force greater than blood. Fear. A ghastly heart breaking feeling that spoke of memories of being completely helpless again. Swallowing back the rising tears that threatened to spill Friday's hands shook as she unbuckled the seat belt securing her. Stumbling in the narrow aisles towards the front of the plane where the bathrooms were located she whispered rushed apologies for the few people her elbow may have hit. It was when she could see the flashing green “vacancy” label that she was thrown back. A huge turbulence shifted the plans balance and Friday found herself thrown against an elderly couple in their seat. Bags from an open overhead compartment pelted down on her back, but luckily they were not so heavy. Panic set in quickly on the plane when the captains terrified voice cracked on the intercom just as the plane started to lose altitude. Kids were screaming, the elderly couple bantered while putting on the oxygen masks, and a few people were begging for their life. A few flight attendants with fear burning in their eyes were trying to help passengers put the masks on while also being tossed around the aisles from heavy turbulence. The lights on the plane were flickering so fast that a few bulbs burst and a dim glow settled over the screaming squirming mass of petrified passengers. One idiot flight attendant rushed to the emergency doors to find her seat but was thrown against the door with such force her arms wrapped around the handle to pull herself up. The door swung open with a loud CRACK and the woman was sucked out along with the door. Air whipped into the plane sucking everyone’s air with it, along with the painful sting of ran that slapped against their flesh. When the plane finally did crash into the ocean, a giant wave washed into the plane from the open doorway as well as the fresh crack in the middle of the plane. The crack screamed of ripping metal and dying passengers as it finally gave way and the other side of the plane was washed away. Crouched on the floor with the elderly couples whiplashed corpses under her body Friday squinted in the darkness to see the dead bodies as well as other passengers burning in their seats as one engine blew. Survival mode kicked in and paralysis no longer had a choking hand around her legs. She stood up and stumbled over bodies to swing against the force of rushing water. People were struggling to find their families, and others were stuck messing around with the seat belts that had been locked in place once the seats had been shifted back. It would take sharp objects to remove them. Finally reaching the emergency door Friday jumped into the cold ocean water. Swimming against the waves she turned on her back to let the force of lapping waves drift her limp body away from the crash site so she could save energy. The second engine on her side of the plane blew almost two minutes after her escape and more horrific screams were heard until the seat garbled them down when the planes heavier pieces sank.

Luckily a floating piece of the plane managed to come near her and Friday grabbed a hold of it to give her kicking legs a rest in the chill of ocean water. The rain still hadn't let up and was coming down even harder now, lightning lighting the sky every few seconds but with the sting of the rain it was hard to make out anything but smoke in the air. When one giant flash lit the waters a glittering light caught Friday's eye and she managed to kick her way over to it. Holding on tightly to and small duffel bag that was barely keeping her head over the waves was a petite young woman with blond hair. Friday grabbed her hand and the tired woman let the other lead her hands over onto the much more secure floating device. Now face to face both women just stared silently into each others eyes, the noise of screaming passengers was fading with the rain, and exhaustion mixed with shock was ebbing. Looking at the woman’s clenched hands on the slick metal that kept them up Friday noticed that it was a beautiful diamond ring that had caught her eye from the light.

“It is going to be okay.” Friday leaned forward to whisper to the woman. It wasn't a complete lie but they..they had hope diidn't they? From the way the girl just looked into the darkness, Friday felt like the shock may had been to much..

“It might be okay. But..I'm not worried about us.” Her voice was really smooth and beautiful, and Friday was surprised at how strong she sounded in this moment. Nodding in agreement Friday rested her head on cold metal and closed her eyes. Deep inside of her mind, past the veil of the horror from six years ago, a strength was rising. In a way she almost felt responsible for this woman. A responsibility to be stable and strong for her. No panicking in this terrible situation and Friday knew she could help this girl cope. They had either drifted further away from the crash site or the yelling and groaning of injured..well..weren't exactly alive anymore but an hour after the crash felt like a lifetime. The two women chatted as calmly as they could while stranded in the ocean. Eventually getting out of the water they were both able to fit laying on the metal piece of the plane. Just like two pre-teens they shared secrets as if no one else in the world would be around to tell them to. It was because of this blond strong girl that Friday felted ashamed of the way she had handled the past six years. Hiding in fear of her past, in fear of something she didn't have control over. One person had ruined her childhood but it was nature now that threatened to take their lives...and suddenly Friday wasn't panicking any longer.

The girl lifted her head and stopped Friday when she was in the middle of a story about her driving instructor..

“Do you feel that?” she whispered. Sitting up more. Friday sat up as well and placed her hand on the metal of their flotation device. It was vibrating. Low, but clearly vibrating in the water. Looking around them in the shimmering darkness of black ocean water Friday couldn't see anything...not even lapping waves.

“Look..the water seems very flat here and calm.” She stated and the girl started to squint into the darkness as well. It was when Friday had made a 180 with her gaze that her words choked up, her hand reaching out to grab the blonds.

“What is it..oh my god.” The girl had finally seen what Friday was staring up at. Ahead of not even 100 yards away was a giant wave rushing towards them. “Its a rogue wave. Grab my hand, and don't let go. Just hold on, if we are together we can fight the currents.”

Friday nodded and she clasped the girls hand tightly both of them using their free hands and legs to clamp down on their floatation device. It was a long shot but the possibility of the waves lifting their device and carrying them over it was still there. But that belief was soon dashed when both girls screamed as the wave finally overtook them, a giant wall of rushing water that flipped their device and threw them into a tumbling vortex. The breath knocked out of her water flooded into Friday's mouth but even with the beating she was taking from the onslaught of powerful water the one thing she could feel was the blonds hand. The ring on the girls hand cut into her palms but Friday held on tight until they were both thrown to the surface and choked out the water. Sucked under once again they were thrown in different directions. The moons glow illuminated the surface water and in the dazzling foam Friday could see the desperate eyes of the girl as they were brought to the surface again.

“My hand is slipping!” She screamed out, choking on more water that splashed into her face. Friday could see the blood coming from the girls nose and could only imagine what her own face looked like. It felt like one of her rubs was broken but from the tight grip of the current Friday really couldn't tell. Squeezing harder on the girls hand she felt only fingers this time. Shaking her head and screaming over the roar of lapping waves that hit them, she begged for the girl to hold on. It was at the moment that another vortex formed below them and they were sucked in. Friday felt the pull as the blond was being ripped from beside her. Eyes squeezed shut in the water all Friday could feel was the cutting of the ring as she held on. Finally with one last pull they were separated and Friday opened her eyes to see another wall of black water hit.

Day One: 11:30 p.m

It seemed like only moments later her eyes were opening to the piercing rays of moonlight. Exotic birds chirped their love play into the air around her and the gently rushing on shore water cradled her bruised and exhausted body on the sand. Friday turned her head to the side and blearily stared at her surroundings. A tree line, sand, and the sound of wildlife was all around but it wasn't what she was looking for. Sitting up slowly her hoarse voice croaked out for the girl. But no answer came. Their wasn't anyone around her, just the wet few belongings that washed shore from the plane crash.

How did I get all the way here, she thought tiredly while forcing her body to rise on foot. From they way her lips were chapped and skin burned she could only assume that she had drifted all day after the crash to this island. But..to survive it unconscious was near impossible. Stumbling on shaky legs she bent and used her hands to steady her knees. Suddenly she stood still, looking down at her right hand clenched tight. Slowly her fingers opened to reveal the bloody diamond ring in her hand, haven gripped it so tight even in her unconscious state. Oh god, I let go. She was slipping and, their was so much water and I tried so hard..
Tears pooled in her pretty brown eyes and it was their she sunk to her knee's and tilted her head back. Long tendrils of wet spiraled pink hair tickled her heels. Staring up at the clear night sky, salty tears burned down her jaw and gathering as much air as she could Friday screamed. One word. One long word that she never thought to have to utter again.

Help.

Raychelle took the moment and rising from her seat in the sand and began setting things up so that the crabs that Corbin and Alice had gathered and soon had them cooking over the fire, using her thumb she popped open one of the coconuts and poured a little juice over the crab in order to add a flavor. It took nearly ten minutes while Corbin and Nick talked further but by the time everything was done Raychelle overheard Corbin state he was tired and needed to lay down.
If this was how things were going to look everyday while they were here she didn't have much hope for their future. Sighing heavily she put a few of the cooked crab on a large leaf and sat back down with the already opened coconut.
She decided it was best to eat so she'd have a clear head in the morning. A wind picked up rustling her hair about her shoulders, but was cool and inviting after the heated day. She gestured towards the rest of the crab and suggested to Luke that he eat as well. After she eaten a little she watched Nick, curious perhaps about how he'd survived so long and chose to question it.
"Nick..if the others didn't make it, how did you? I mean you speak so eerily of the island that it's a wonder your still alive. If anything I'd say that would be considered nothing short of a miracle. How did you last this long if you don't mind me asking?"

"Nick..if the others didn't make it, how did you? I mean you speak so eerily of the island that it's a wonder your still alive. If anything I'd say that would be considered nothing short of a miracle. How did you last this long if you don't mind me asking?" Nick heard from the girl who had kept quiet so far. He thought he had heard that her name was Rachel or something. No, it was Raychelle.

"Raychelle, right?" started Nick. "I made it because...I don't know. I think it's because I've just been in the right place at the right time. I mean, I could explain how each and everyone that was with me died, but I probably couldn't finish. The people that inhabit this island have a weird way of expressing how they feel. They seem to have it out for certain people and not others. I feel like I would have been at the top of the list though because...doesn't matter." Nick took a breath trying to rethink what she had asked in case he forgot anything.

"Speaking of the tribe here, I need to let you all know something." Nick got more serious when he began to talk about the tribe. "Do not, under any circumstances, talk to anyone on this island if their eye pupils are pure black only. This means they are part of the tribe. They'll tell you what you want to hear, even pretend like they need your help life or death. It's crap. Don't help them. They'll kill you, plain and simple."

((I think we should end the night once we find Friday, maybe the last awake will find her and invite her in and we'll move to tomorrow. Is that alright with everyone?))

The man's answer made him feel, well literally it made him feel like it was a lost cause just to keep trying. He settled into his place near the fire, his mind now wrapped in it's own world as he sat there. He could hear Nick's words, could make them out but they were registering yet. No Luke was to far deep in his own mind to really pay attention. His life had just started to get better, and then this happens; and their trapped here with a tribe of crazed lunatics ready to kill them at any turn. This was just great, all they needed was Indiana Jones, some fabled treasure. and the corny chasing music you find in the movie.

"Man, this is too much it really is..." He noticed Raychelle gesturing towards the food. He began to eat as well, he didn't eat much though; his stomach was really on the fritz with the new knowledge of their plight. "Look this is wonderful to know and all, and I'm glad that I know now to keep watch around me when i got to use the bathroom, wouldn't want to get killed with my pants down huh?" He tried to joke, finding that his dark humor right now would be the only thing to help him make sense of the fact, they were probably never going to get out of there. Luke looked towards the fire. "So, do we sleep in shifts? Or are we just going to sleep it off and pretend it's all a bad dream and wake up in a nice warm bed in a hotel in Hawaii?" He asked with a smile as if he was trying to convince himself this was just a horrible nightmare that he could wake up from.

Raychelle eyed Nick as he said her name and proceeded to let her know that even he wasn't sure how he'd survived so long. The answer left her skeptical but she listened on as he told the small group about the people that inhabit the island, but his jumbled words had her brow raised in curiosity as she nibbled on some more of the crab. When she was finished she rose, shaking off the sand she sighed. "Well this is just peachy, stranded and now possible natives who possibly want to just might want to kill us off one by one." Raychelle eyed Corbin when he seemed distant suddenly and excused himself using the excuse he was tired. Raychelle herself was exhausted from every detail of the day, but her mind she knew wouldn't allow her to rest. "Um....Luke..I'm going for a walk by the water, see if i bump into anything from the plane. If I do I'll bring it back, and if something goes wrong, well.....I'll scream." she tried to slip a little humored smirk into the tone before she took up a stick and slid it into the fire, it probably wouldn't last long but she'd have light for a little while. Giving Luke and Nick one last glance she turned towards the ocean and walked away from them. With one arm holding the lit stick Raychelle curled the other across her chest and held onto her upper arm. Her feet carried her down to the water, her feet slid into the cold water as it lapped up onto the shore. She stood there a moment and stared out over the ocean, the moonlight now appearing as if it were dancing across the water's surface. Her eyes brimmed with tears but she let them fall, she merely sighed and allowed the tightness in her throat to resolve. Clearing her throat she began walking down the beach allowing her feet to slip through the water. The way Nick had made it sound is there was no reason for trying to escape, it was near impossible. She heard the waves splashing in the distance and every so often would look over at the ocean, then continued. She hoped she would come across perhaps some luggage with clothes or other items that could help them. She was frustrated at the thought that she was trapped here, that she wasn't safely back home snug in her warm bed.
