Alastair has a very complicated personality. At first glance he looks cold, calculated and quiet. He has often been told that he looks as if he holds a million secrets. At closer glance though, if someone were to stomach getting close enough to him, they would realize he is a reserved and gentle man.

Despite his quietness, Alastair is extremely intelligent; on history and the secrets hidden about the afterlife (though this is classified information). His mind can be quite an asset to any group, as he can talk to and summon the dead. He is also rather gentle, though this may not be expected from a Reaper. in his eyes, the one handling death should be able to carefully handle souls with compassionate consideration. He is kind while opening his arms for the dead souls of the world.

Alastair's composure is often that of class and regality, matched with his British accent and he seems absolutely posh. He holds himself tall and is quite aware of his good-looking appearance. Despite this, he does not use it to his advantage to gain allies, but rather is a loner and prefers solidarity to big groups. As he himself is just an unliving being, he feels odd when surrounded by other supernatural beings who are living or also undead.

Alastair does not remember when he came into this world. He cannot remember a childhood, a family or any memories of a past. Such is the life of a Reaper; created by the almighty power to bring the dead to their resting spots. Reapers had been created at the dawn of time when the need for ferrying souls to the afterlife arouse. The furthest memory that Alastair has is year 936, Germany, just as Otto the Great had inaugurated what would eventually become the Holy Roman Empire. He does not remember much from prior to this, and instead assumes he may have been created around this time period to help in the bloodshed that would ensue in Germany.

Alastair stayed in Germany until the end of the World War II. Unlike others before him though, Alastair became wildly known in the supernatural world for his techniques of delivering souls to the dead. Most Reapers took souls without so much of a word, wheras Alastair began to speak to the souls and assure them of their safe passage. It was this new technique that became wildly successful and lead him to lead the Reapers.

After World War II, he found himself in England which would continue to be his home for the coming years. He slowly grew his empire of Reapers until they were a successful team that could be dispatched from around the world. This was until the Dark Metal was successfully created and integrated into the mainstream society. For whichever reason, the humans were such idiots that they began to exercise the Reapers. Alastair was disgusted by the human's fear; all the reapers did was for the human races benefit. Without them their souls would wind up wandering the earth unclaimed by heaven, hell or the in between.

Alastiar wishes to help the fight against the Black Metal, and thus when he received his invitation from M, he was delighted to join in.
