Description

Image
Name:
Skylar Keating

Gang Name:
Pride

Gang Position:
Leader

Gender:
Male

Age:
26

Appearance:
Standing at an imposing height of 6'2, Pride is the embodiment of his moniker. His posture is always straight, broad shoulders relaxed into an easy position underneath the fabric of his clothing. He carries an air of a man born to win. Light skinned and more on the lean side, he mainains muscle definition and strength through a series of personal work-outs. Distinctly vivid turquoise eyes carry a determination and focus that is rare for the day's youth. Most of the time they are partially obscured behind tufts of dark, ashy hair. The strands frame his face closely, the longest reaching down to his chin.

Clothing Choice:
Among some of the filth that dwells in Sin, Pride easily stands apart. While his style is not up to par with those of the high class, it is no where near the quality of the bums on the streets. Most days he can be found in a pair of black pants and a dress shirt. Some days he succumbs to one of his more comfortable fitted t-shirts and tops it off with a black trench coat.

Brands:
~Three under-eye tattoos~
All for murders, though it isn't clear which ones. It's no secret that his death count is higher.
~Neck tattoo~
Kidnapping of an official's daughter
~ Piercing on his left eyebrow~
Lying knowingly to his father in front of the court
~Six ear piercings on his right ear~
The first five account for continuously abandoning his assigned class.
The sixth one at the bottom was his own addition as an act of defiance toward his father.

Image
Sexuality:
Straight

Love interest:
While he enjoys a woman's company, he can't say that he has any real feelings for anyone.

Personality:
Pride is, in all senses of the word, a proud man. He is proud of his own defiance and actions, of his accomplishments, and of those he has surrounded himself with. He is a man on a mission and refuses to let anything or anyone stand in his way. His rebellious nature is both what got him exiled into Sin and what kept him alive beyond that point. He is not afraid to boast about the battles he's won and the battles he is certain will go in his favor in the future. In fact, his reputation seems to stand at a point where most believe that he is not afraid of anything. He tends to dive head-first into anything he does but he always has a plan going in and never plays to lose. He often acts as if his very existence is pivotal to the future of humanity and commands the respect for this.

Despite the fact that life has not been kind to him, he still manages to have fun in his day-to-day duties. He is solution oriented, making him the perfect candidate to approach if a problem arises. It is rare to find him in a foul mood, seething over something that has gone wrong. That is not to say that he does not get angry. He rather prefers to take his anger out in a very direct manner. If that means putting a bullet through someone's brain himself, then so be it. He doesn't hold grudges. He deals with them head on and then moves onto more important things that require his attention. Get on his good side, and he will make sure that you are taken care of. Dare to cross him and become his enemy, and he will see your throat ripped out, even if it is not by his own hand.

Likes:
~ Taking control of a situation
~ Planning
~ Reading
~ Having time to himself, away from others, to think
~ Getting revenge and clearing his head of it
~ High speeds
~ Being in the middle of a fight
~ Women
Dislikes:
~ Being double-crossed
~ Losing a member for any reason
~ Being questioned
~ The bums that sit on the streets of Sin
~ His family lineage. Particularly his father
~ The secrets that he is forced to keep to himself
~ The notion of living forever
~ Being outsmarted

Fears:
~ Being buried alive
~ Dying without accomplishing his goals
~ Discovering that he is the monster
~ Having a lover and seeing her hurt because of him

Closest Companion:
Gluttony and Lust

Rival:
As the leader, Pride can't afford to have rivals in the gang. Anyone deserving of the title doesn't last long.

History:
Pride's life is one that very few know about, mostly because no one knows whose history to look for. He was born as Skylar Keating, a name that is now synonymous with a man who is thought dead. His father, Jax Keating, sits as leader of the Virtue Chair under the moniker of Justice. His mother, Valeria Keating, has not had reason to work a single day of her life. Instead, she always filled up her time with spas, theater shows, and learning various hobbies that kept her happy and occupied.

Skylar grew up in possibly the most wealthy family in all of Divine City. Everyone thought that he would follow in his father's footsteps. Daily, he was dragged about by tutors and nannies, being taught about language and politics, math and history. While other children were out playing, he had his nose in books under the watchful eye of the adults. He dressed in the finest fabrics and presented himself in the best manner that was expected of him by his parents. Yet, the life behind closed doors was not as glamorous as it looked like from the outside.

The more he learned and grew, the more he picked up on secrets and back-end deals that the citizens of the city had no ideas about. At first he kept his mouth shut and did not say a thing to anyone. He was determined to take over his father's legacy and continue his family's rule of the city. That was until, at the age of 16, he learned one secret too many. He finally confronted his father about it and in return received a lecture on how this was best for everyone. The actions of the Virtue Chair were for everybody's protection, not to be spoken of outside the walls of the mansion.

The following year was a chaotic one for the heir. He tried to come to reason with his knowledge but could not bear the thought of the citizens being deceived in such a manner. He considered simply going along with his father's words and strategies, biding his time until it was his turn to take over. Then he would change things and no one would be able to stop him. However, as soon as the plan was hatched, it fell apart. His mother warned him that Justice was not the only one on the council that wanted to keep secrets. The others, serving under him, would not stand for a change. Unfortunately for him, his plans were found out soon after and he was framed for a murder at the tender age of 17.

This triggered a downward slide for him. He kidnapped the daughter of one of the council members in an attempt to get them to negotiate. In the end, they simply didn't care enough and the girl died from a heart attack, earning Skylar two more brandings. He began training, then, to defend himself against the same people he once called family. More and more, he began to sneak off to lower districts in order to provide help for the less fortunate. His first encounter with Sin was a violent one and he stayed away from it for a while after, but he still attempted to help from a distance. This unwanted behavior is what earned him several piercings on his right ear to add to the growing collection of markings. After defying his father for the last time, he finally left home for good, wandering out onto the streets.

It was due to his previous training that he did not get killed in the first few nights. He found a hotel to hide himself away from the world and the next morning read in the newspaper that Skylar Keating, the son of Justice, was dead. Killed by a gang in gun fire. His parents were quoted in false mourning and the city held a day of silence for the fallen. Underneath the cover of anonymity, Skylar seethed in anger. He had one favor on his side and that was the fact that no one really knew what he looked like. Most of the board members and their families remained anonymous to the citizens to protect themselves from unwanted attention.

Two days later, Skylar received a letter from his father. It informed him that he had been disowned by both of his parents and that the entire city now thought him to be dead. If he dared step out and speak the secrets that he knew, the Virtue Chair would not hesitate to inform the citizens of his betrayals. They could spin any number of lies about him and rile the population into action. He would be hunted down and killed without mercy. You made poor choices and judgments in the past for others. Now think of your own future. the writing concluded.

His ties to the Virtue Chair severed for good, Skylar disappeared into the streets of Sin, planning his next move. Using everything he had learned as a child, he began to acquire some of his own wealth and respect from the miscreants around him. He managed to fight off any attacks, began to earn a reputation around Sin, and took the moniker of Pride, hiding away his real name from everyone he came in contact with. With time, his own life came back together. Piece by piece, he assembled a new gang that would one day be known as "Deadly" and labeled as terrorists by the Virtue Chair. Together, they have been able to fight off and kill some of the strongest gangs in town, gaining power and getting rid of any who stand in their way.

To his credit, Pride has never let slip his real name to anybody and has flown under the radar with ease. He hasn't spoken of his father's secrets yet to anyone. Recently, however, the tides have turned. Pride has become aware that despite what his father told him in his letter, he still intends to see him killed before his time. There is a gang on the horizon that is after their blood and Pride knows exactly who sent them. He still intends to take leadership of the Divine City. Now, he simply has to do it the old-fashioned way.

So begins...

Merrick Gula

All was unnervingly quiet in Deadly's base today. Everyone had woken up sometime in the mid-evening and now sat in a more common room area. Merrick fidgeted in the dead silence. What was with everyone today? For some reason, everything was ridiculously tense. Perhaps it had been the talk of another powerful gang appearing that had everyone on edge. Pride had mentioned something about the gang to Merrick, though he hadn't been exactly specific yet. Merrick expected no less. Pride would fill him in on all of the details when Pride was ready.

Merrick's eyes slowly scanned his companions from behind his book. He wasn't actually reading. He never planned on reading. He just brought a book out to make himself feel less awkward. His eyes rested on Pride. Merrick couldn't help but wonder if maybe Pride had plans for the group today. It was almost night now, the most active time for the gang. A smile graced Gluttony's face as he decided to finally break the silence.

"Ah... Excuse me, everyone, but do we have any business we need to attend?" He closed the book as silently as possible and smiled in his usual way. It was good to have so many good friends. Friends that would grow attached to him. His smile widened as he tilted his head to the side and leaned back in his chair.

"If not, perhaps I could... Be excused for a while. I have some business I need to attend to at some point. Though, it can wait." He put out a hand in suggestion. His appetite was starting to grate at him. As much as he hated himself for it, it was about time to do something about that. His eyes moved over his companions again. Pride would know what he meant. Hopefully, the others knew nothing.

His eyes stopped on every member, just for a moment. He was making sure they didn't assume anything. It would be a real damper in his plan if any of the others found out. Pride was the only one he felt would never judge him for his taste. That was why he had trusted the leader with the secret in the first place. However...

He was no closer to possessing the leader. Nor did he have any of the others. This was a rather annoying fact. Why was it that he couldn't get them to feel as strongly attached to him as he was to them? His smile turned into a grin as his eyebrow twitched only slightly. He couldn't let himself break that easily. He gestured slightly again.

"Well?"

"Well? Well I'm starving, and it's cold in here." Kat joked with a rather cocky smirk. She had decided to sit upside down underneath a fan while wearing a rather light pajama set, so it was no wonder she was cold. But her comment was just an attempt to break away from the tense feeling in the room.
Having been up for hours she had already run into a number of stories and rumors about new rivals and power struggles online as well as on the news, and at this point she was sick of hearing gossip about it. Besides, even if it was true it's not as if this would be their first set of challengers, there have been many over the years. Perhaps it was her ego, confidence in Skylar's leadership, or their lack of any real defeats that has her so at ease with this rumored new threat....or maybe she's actually looking forward to a new challenge. Whatever it was Kat seemed to be the most at ease in the room.

"But outside of that no, I can't think of any reason to keep you from...your business."
Pushing herself upright Kat would cross her legs and arms almost in unison as she casually stared around the room, waiting for someone else to speak up.

Pride sat sprawled out on the large couch, one leg extended lazily in front of him, the other propped up for comfort. His left arm rested across the back cushion, bent at an angle to allow two long fingers to rest at his temple in contemplation. He had been sitting in this position silently ever since he came down to join the others which was worrying enough in its own right. The fact that he appeared to be edging closer to yelling at the first person to look at him the wrong way was another red flag. Those who knew him best would understand, however, that his present mood was only fleeting. It would dissipate once he decided to drag Lust away from the others to create plans for their next move.

By this point everyone in the room had picked up on the gossip of another rival gang. To them, it was simply another group of leaches that needed to be taught a lesson. Every once in a while, Pride caught glances out of the corner of his eye as the rest of the gang waited for him to give the word for action. So far he hadn't provided it. Nor had he said much about it. Only a couple of days ago he had disclosed to Gluttony, in private, that their new rivals would be more difficult to hunt down and get rid of due to the fact that they were not branded. How did he know this? He did not say. It was simply a fair warning of what was to come, a reason to be on the look-out for any suspicious activity around them. One thing was for certain, he wasn't going to sit around and wait for an attack to come. He would put the gang on the offensive soon. And to do that he needed to speak with Lust about their plan of attack.

He would have preferred to have Gluttony in on the meeting as well, but before he had a chance to pull himself out of his thoughts the man himself spoke up. Pride looked around at the first sign of life in what seemed to be hours now, his intent gaze catching onto Gluttony's much more eager one. He held it until the other male looked away, and then moved to get up from his spot. In the years he had known Gluttony and his rather... odd... taste, he had never made a move to stop him from doing what he needed to get his fix. It was an unspoken understanding between them that Pride would not stand in the way of his preferred nourishment so long as Gluttony didn't let it interfere in the gang's business. So far the arrangement had worked out in both of their favors and neither saw a reason to change it.

While Lust contemplated there being no reason not to let him wander off, Pride made his way silently over to the cabinets that stood the length of the far wall of the room. It held quite a number of different weapons and gadgets that he had Greed collect over the last year. They were often used, lost, or thrown away to be replaced by newer models, keeping their stash updated and afloat for any jobs they needed to undertake. This time, when he returned to the general group, he was holding two ear pieces in his hand. He tossed one of them to Gluttony, keeping the other for himself.

"These ones are still untapped by the Virtues," he spoke. "Keep it on you. If you see Jared's gang wandering around, let me know first and inform them that their payment is coming due in full this week. I need to speak with him." There was, of course, a secondary reason for keeping a line of contact open. Where-as normally Pride might have sent Sloth to drive him, he understood that Gluttony likely didn't want anyone from the gang tailing him lest they figure out what he was up to. There was strength in numbers, however, and Pride was not about to let his second-in-command be captured with no way to track him.

"If anyone else has any other business to attend to, I suggest doing so tonight," he added, his gaze scanning the others in the room, resting on each of the members in turn. It wasn't exactly an exciting night, but even this reprieve was better than letting them all sit idle while they waited. He let them break off into their own usual groups, only turning to one to hold her back from joining in on the leisurely time.

"Lust," he called her attention, looking over to her. Wordlessly, he motioned toward the door and simply turned to leave the room as a signal for her to follow.

Sloth

Jenna looked around the room. Everyone seemed on edge, no one daring to say anything. Pride seemed to be in a glorious mood today. He hadn't moved for a fair while. He was going to explode the second anyone said anything. Jenna slipped her hand into her pocket, feeling the comforting cold metal of her car keys. She turned the keys in her pocket, the metal warming up in her hand. Lust was sat upside down, Merrick in the corner. No one saying anything. Jenna felt the chill come from the fan. She looked at Lust, silently willing her to turn the damn thing off. They'd all heard the news of a new gang, a new bunch of upstarts that needed teaching a lesson about Sin.

Jenna tugged at one of her lip piercings. It was a point of personal pride that she only had two piercings. It meant that she was good at what she did. Pride still hadn't moved. Her own gaze fell on Merrick. Gluttony. He was thin and pale. Paler than usual, Jenna noticed. He'd probably be disappearing off to wherever it was he went soon. Jenna was beyond curious as to where he went, but knew better than to ask Merrick. She'd met some private people, but Merrick was without doubt one of the most private people she'd ever met. And she certainly knew better than to follow him, Pride would have her life for it.

Jenna had never felt relief like it when Merrick finally spoke up. He was the only one whose neck Pride wasn't liable to break right now. Jenna nodded to herself while Lust complained about being cold. Jenna suppressed a laugh. Had it been anyone else, Jenna might have been inclined to tell them to put some clothes on, but it was Lust and that would be a waste of breath. Jenna bent down and flicked the fan off. Sometimes the simplest solutions were the best. Pride walked over to the cabinet that Greed had filled with various trinkets. He handed an earpiece to Merrick, keeping one back for himself. Pride dismissed them, keeping Lust back. They were planning something.

Jenna took her keys out of her pocket and threw them up in the air a couple of times, smiling at the small jangle the keys made when they landed in her hand. She wanted to go for a drive. She grabbed her coat and looked around for Greed, "You got any plans for tonight?" She asked, knowing the girl's penchant for gathering supplies through questionable means and tagging Jenna along for the ride.

ENVY

Cail surveyed the room much as his fellow gang members where doing. The silence was deafening, and he wanted someone to break it, but at the same time he had nothing to say and no reason to risk opening his mouth. He sat with his head resting on his hands in a rather well padded chair tucked into the corner of the room so that every door in the room was within his peripheral vision. Merrick seemed far more nervous than was usual even for him, and his feigned book reading was hardly convincing to Cail. Kat sat in what seemed to be an extremely uncomfortable position while wearing what he imagined must be an extremely comfortable outfit. He wished he could be so comfortable. The rest of the gang were seated in their own chairs with Pride in his typical throne. It was nothing compared to the chairs Cail had used back in Divine City, but it helped fuel the enormous ego of their esteemed leader.

Cail's attention was drawn back to Merrick as he began to speak. He had absolutely no clue why they had been called to order, and nobody was explaining it. Kat's comments did nothing to help, and then Pride dismissed them with little further explanation, taking her off to go plan something. This annoyed Cail. It annoyed him greatly.

"Why would he was all of our time by calling us together just to dismiss us?" Cail muttered under his breath as he slowly hoisted himself out of his chair. He guessed it didn't matter, he was there to make sure that no one came in uninvited, so even the smallest meeting was something he would be called to usually. In light of this he slowly wandered over to stand next to the door that Pride and Kat had exited from and stood silently. As the bouncer he might as well make sure no one interrupted the planning session even if he was pretty sure no one in the gang would dare go in if Pride hadn't requested them. It gave him something to do.

Cail observed as his gang mates began to slowly disperse to their own preferred company. He watched as a door across the room began to close behind Merrick, his red scarf fluttering behind him. Cail wanted that scarf. It made Merrick so happy, or at least as happy as Merrick could be. Maybe the scarf could do the same for him...

Kat would casually twirl a thick lock of hair as Skylar conversed with Merrick, staring between the two men she pondered just where Merrick was going and why. She knew quite a lot about the second in command but not everything and it irked her endlessly - but she'd never show it.

So when Jenna leaned over and turned the fan above her off Kat would be startled a bit before looking up and letting out a soft laugh, it was only then she realized the cause of the chill running up her bare legs. "Well gee, turning off the fan - what a novel idea." she'd joke under her breath as she repositioned herself and smiled over towards the gangs rather quiet driver.

"If anyone else has any other business to attend to, I suggest doing so tonight."
Pride would look at everyone in the room after his statement, but despite her complaints of hunger Lust had no plans to leave with the rest of them, and as soon as the little impromptu meeting came to an end she'd stay seated as others began to stand.
However she wouldn't stay put long, for as soon as Pride called out her pseudonym Kat would get up and casually walk into another room down the hall.
Once there she'd close the door and lean back against it.

"Dragging me away to divulge all of Gluttony's dirty little secrets hmm? Well at least the ones I don't know."
Quickly laughing at her own comment Kat would throw her hands up in the air. "Never mind, don't answer that."

Finding her way to a lone arm chair pushed into a corner she'd plop down and kick her legs over one side of the chair while leaning her elbows back on the other.
"So I know you didn't bring me in here to talk about tea parties or charity dinners....so what's on that mind of yours dear?"

She'd kick her legs back in forth in the air as she stared at Skylar, waiting for him to respond. She was attempting to read his demeanor and guess what he was going to say before he even opened his mouth, although it might of appeared as if she was treating him like eye candy.

Fixing his own ear piece in place, Pride strolled into the smaller room that he often used for private meetings and planning sessions. It was not glamorous. It didn't need to be. A single large table stood in the middle, surrounded by several chairs that were comfortable enough. Pride wanted to upgrade them, but he doubted that they would be stuck in this hole for much longer. Whatever happened in the coming weeks would get them out of Sin either through victory or death. And he meant to have his victory.

“Do you remember the Untouchables?” he asked as he came to stand on the opposite side of the table from Kat. His tone of voice suddenly had a hint of humor and pride in it, his gaze more concentrated now that he was able to channel his frustration and thoughts into something productive. It landed on Kat, appraising her as if he had only gotten a good look at her for the first time that day. Judging from the mood he had been in for the last couple of hours, the assumption would not have been much of a stretch.

The Untouchables had been the hotshots around Sin years ago, before Deadly entered the scene. Pride had always considered victory over that particular gang to be the highlight of their success and could spend hours recounting how it all had gone down. Even Amelia heard all of the stories and she was a much newer member. Pride carried an almost unhealthy satisfaction with the outcome of that gang war.

However, just as he seemed on the verge of recounting old war stories, his demeanor changed to a more serious one. “From the information I've been gathering, the Untouchables are nothing compared to our new gang of sniveling freshmen. The media has certainly decided to give them more than their fair share of enough attention. Their presence is also turning everyone's attention to us and we can't be sitting around when the attack comes.”

Moving forward, Pride rested his hands on the table, leaning his weight against them. The fact that the new gang was being considered a worthy opponent was a mild inconvenience. At least, this was the image that he projected. He had yet to drop the big news of what was really going on and of his real plans. He had no intentions of disclosing them until it was necessary. In that instance, Merrick would be involved in the conversation first and foremost.

“So... I'm calling in favors from our connections. We'll be taking the offensive before the week is out. To do that, we need to identify who we are up against. What their strengths and weaknesses are. What we need to do to make this simple and easy. That's where you come in,” he explained the bare bone essentials.

Typical that he never told even his allies everything that was going on around them. The truth was not always convenient, though. The concept of knowing more and being a step ahead of everyone else simply helped stroke his inflated ego. Pride was not about to let go of that simple yet powerful card.

Merrick Gula

Merrick smiled a little as no one stopped him from leaving. This was interesting. Sure, he had plenty of time where he had slipped away without notice, but it was often difficult to escape the group when he announced that he wanted to leave. He sighed softly and stood; gladly following Pride when he was instructed to do so. He stood one step behind him, as usual. That was his place, after all, and he would not be attempted to surpass his leader in any way. Especially with what he was hoping to get out of all his relationship in the first place. He took the earpiece when instructed to and place it in his ear calmly.

"These ones are still untapped by the Virtues,"
Pride was serious as usual. "Keep it on you. If you see Jared's gang wandering around, let me know first and inform them that their payment is coming due in full this week. I need to speak with him." Merrick smiled and nodded his head, "Of course. I'll make sure to tell them should I cross their paths." With that, Merrick made his way out the door. He swore he could feel a chilling glance on his back as he left, but tried to ignore the feeling.

Once outside, Merrick dropped the fake smile and hastily got away from the base. He was starting to get agitated. It was almost amazing how addictions worked, even the stranger kind. He was going into withdrawals purely because he was thinking about getting closer to his fix. He growled to himself and looked around the town. The streets were empty enough, as usual. He let out a breath and contemplated who would be safe to kill off. Was anyone safe to kill off? As he made his way downtown, he began to notice something was strange.

"What's this...?" His voice was a little rough. He hadn't been expecting so many officials. Was there a major crime committed recently? He hid his face in his scarf slightly and ducked into an alley. There was no way he could get away with what he needed to do with all these police around...

"Pride, we've got a slight issue here..." He spoke; knowing Pride would hear him. "I believe you said that there was an issue with a rival gang, correct? Well, there are a bunch of cops around town scouting for something. Their everywhere that they can legally stick their noses..." He sighed and scratched his wrist. What a pain... What a giant pain. Maybe he could eat one of them...? No... No... He couldn't do that. That would only cause trouble.

"Looks like their taking in any gang members they can find. That's weird... Does the Virtue Chair have a new punishment plan or something?" He looked out from the alley at the police now. A bright light flew over him and he let out a distinct scream. The police looked toward the alley. He grimaced and spoke up again. "And I blew it."

With this, he darted away. He couldn't go directly back to the base, but he would have to find somewhere to hide out for a while. "Well, this has turned into a real event! Keep your eyes opened! The Virtue Chair's definitely up to something!"

GREED

Throughout the meeting Amelia was as still as anyone would ever see her. If it hadn’t been for Pride’s seemingly grumpy mood and the air of tension being so palpable that she forgot to breath repeatedly she would have been pacing behind the sofa until something was said. But not today. Pride was in one of his scary moods.

Slumped in the corner of a couch she had one leg tucked under her on the cushion, whilst the other touched toes the floor in an endless twitchy bounce that betrayed her nerves. Her eyes flicked around the room wondering what had changed to put everyone so on edge.

Her hair was braided back today and her clothes a pair of worn in jeans and a black tunic with no real defining details other than the quality of the fabric. She’d been planning to venture out for more supplies today before she was told about the meeting. She didn't know Pride well enough yet to chance infuriating him by playing hooky, so she came and sat like an obedient little girl.

After what felt like hours Pride simply dismissed them. All that time, all that stress and anxiety to just be told to go play while he and Lust made super secret plans! Was this some kind of game? Pride priding himself in having them at his beck and call? Pouting Amelia hauled herself up off the couch and stuck her tongue out at Pride’s back defiantly.

When she turned back toward the door Jenna was playing with her eyes and Amy grinned.

“You got any plans for tonight?” Jenna asked.

Amy clapped her hands and rubbed them together vigorously with a cheeky grin. “In fact I did have some plans if you’d care to take me up a few levels,” Amy announced. While it would be fun to try to eavesdrop on Pride and Lust’s plans Amelia had her own shenanigans to get up to. “So, you in? Nothing risky tonight, just a routine pick up this time. I promise.”

Jenna waited patiently in the car while Amy headed into the store. She flicked through the radio stations until she found a song she actually liked before sliding back into her seat. What the hell was with all the police? Jenna tapped her fingers on the dashboard, trying to figure out what this all meant. She was deep in thought when Amy came out of the store with a man carrying the box Amy had come to collect. Jenna watched them through the rearview mirror, losing sight of them for a second when Amy opened the trunk. Words were exchanged between them and Amy's smile vanished. Jenna flicked open the glovebox, keeping one eye on the events at the rear of the car. Amy had the guy by the scruff of the neck and was about to smash his head off the car. Jenna raised an eyebrow, silently conveying ' Really?' to Amy.

The guy fell to the ground and Amy momentarily disappeared again. Jenna closed the glovebox and waited for Amy to get back in. When she did, Jenna noticed the wad of notes in her hand. "How come guys are so daft? My eyes are obviously not black," Amy pouted, "If you want to run him over, I won't object."

Jenna checked down the street, "You answered your own question there tiger," she looked in the rearview mirror, "Normally I would go for it, but all the police makes a woman change her mind," Jenna waited until the guy stood up and kicked the car into reverse, knocking the guy back of the ground, "Totally didn't see him there, did you?" She asked, a smirk tugging at her face. Jenna drove through the streets, making sure the police were paying exactly zero attention to the little car with two branded women in it. Nope, nothing questionable was going on in this car. Jenna parked up the car in the alleyway and breathed a sigh of relief. Jenna jammed her hands into her pocket, locking the car up after Amy retrieved her parcel. She wanted to run back to HQ but forced herself to walk at a normal pace.

Back at the building, Jenna headed straight for Pride's office. She rapped her knuckles on the door and stood back, waiting to be invited in.

Though Pride kept his ear piece in while he was talking with Kat, he hadn't anticipated that Merrick would be getting in touch with him so soon. He expected that he would take care of his own business first before resorting to paying attention to the other gangs around the streets.

In the years that passed since Pride first introduced Deadly to the street thugs, they had grown to be feared, respected, and hated to a certain point. It was why Pride could let the members of the gang wander freely without worrying for their safety. Not many dared mess with them. Most knew that if they did, they would wake up with a gun pointed to their family jewels. Others tended to learn quite fast.

This was why Pride was a little surprised to hear Merrick's voice come through, sounding mildly worried and frustrated. His hand, that had been resting on the table, lifted to the ear piece, tapping a button on the side to activate the microphone while he listened to the other man's explanation of what was going on. Cops down on the ground, capturing gang members? Pride knew that the Virtue Chair had a bone to pick with him after all this time. He didn't think that they would take such an open-handed and direct approach. Before he responded, however, Merrick yelped and, from the sound of it, took off running.

How lovely.

“I'm afraid you'll have to scrap your mission for tonight,” was his first thought and reply. There was a hint of humor in his voice despite the situation. He knew that Merrick would be non too happy with the notion.

“Keep your head down, lay low. Return to base when you can. The high rise apartment is still empty if you need a safe house for a while. And do me a favor, don't get captured,” he relayed, the last part sounding almost weary. Though he knew that Merrick had a terrific habit of being able to escape exactly these types of situations unscathed. Otherwise, the man might already be buried underground somewhere.

“Who else has left the base?” he asked as he switched the microphone off again, directing the brief question to Kat. There wasn't much time to think about a game plan and the conversation that he wanted to finish with her would have to be put on hold until he figured out all of the variables of what was going on.

He pushed himself off the table, already heading for the door when there was a sharp knock from the other side. With a brief glance at the woman seated in her chair, Pride strode forward, pulling the door open to reveal Jenna waiting patiently and Amelia coming in behind her. He gave the two women a brief once over before turning his head to fix a questioning gaze on Cail that was standing off to the side. The bouncer seemed to have positioned himself to make sure no one crashed in on the meeting. Jenna's less intrusive interruption, however, still came as a mild annoyance, even if Pride was about to go look for everyone.

“Check the perimeter. Make sure there is no one snooping around outside. Particularly the cops,” he directed the instruction to Cail, almost hissing the last words with distaste. Pride hated the law enforcement. That was no secret. He often went out of his way to rebel against them and took a certain pleasure in pulling off cons under their noses.

With that, he moved aside, ushering Jenna into the room. There was no sense in keeping the girls out after what he had just learned and she seemed ready to divulge even more information from the looks of things.

ENVY

Cail looked up as Jenna barged back into the room. He expected her to fly right into the room where Pride waited, and prepared to step in, but surprisingly enough she followed the generally accepted rules of common curtesy and knocked first. The door opened to reveal a mildly agitated Pride, Cail straightened his back a little, not really snapping to attention, but still acknowledging his leader.

"Check the perimeter. Make sure there is no one snooping around outside. Particularly the cops," a simple and common enough order, but much more fun than standing next to locked doors all day.

"Excellent." Cail simply said immediately turning to leave at a brisk walk. As he moved he checked the weapons already on his person: two LeMat revolvers in chest holsters under his coat, daggers stored in sheaths under his lapels, a derringer on a slide in his right sleeve, and a brace of throwing knives around his right leg at the top of his right boot. He stepped up to the row of cabinets that served as the armory where he had his own personal armoire to store his personal arsenal.

He fixed a second brace of knives around his left leg, and slid two short throwing axes into their special fastenings on his boots. Then he added the twin to his right handed derringer, and slipped a knife into each of the french cuffs on his coat. He fixed a thigh holster on each leg and slid in a matching pair of Smith and Wesson No. 3's. Finally he wrapped a simple gunbelt around his waste and stuck his prize gold plated, long-barrel Luger '08 into the holster next to a large kukri fighting knife. The last thing he grabbed was a sawn off double barreled shotgun. He was often told he was old fashioned, but all of the people who said that were buried in shallow graves around Sin. He closed the door to the armoire and walked out of the room.

He hesitated as he stepped to the door of the base, he hated to go out so lightly armed, but it was a simple perimeter sweep, so he figured he would be fine. He rested the shotgun on his shoulder as he began to walk around the compound. He could see why Pride had been so specific about the cops. There seemed like a hundred just down the street, but fortunately, none had ventured down near the house. Cail did a quick patrol to ensure no one was near the base where they didn't belong. Finding no one, he began to walk back to the door when a thought struck him. There were way to many cops out for a routine sweep. The Chair was up to something, and he wanted to know what.

Cail crossed a block over from the compound so as not to accidentally draw the wrath of the law down upon his gang mates, and then began to move towards were the cops had been congregating. As he moved into a particularly dark alley he heard a sound. To most it would sound like the wind caught a piece of garbage, or maybe a rat. But Cail reacted instinctively, rolling to put his back to the wall he brought both barrels of his shotgun to bear at a form hidden crouched behind a large box. His finger tightened on the trigger until he recognized a distinctive red scarf.

"Merrick." He said calmly, straightening up, but not quite letting down his guard.

"Do you remember the Untouchables?”" Skylar asked, which caused Kat to raise an eyebrow as she shifted in her seat to a more upright position - crossing one leg over the other.
"Vaguely." she joked as she looked up towards him, the grin on her face making it clear she was being sarcastic. Kat would quickly regret her sarcasm though since she knew Pride was one to go on and on about the same ol' victories, so much so that she often joked that he reminded her of an old man with amnesia, forever repeating the same stories to the same people. Luckily this time he resisted the urge, much to her relief.

"From the information I've been gathering, the Untouchables are nothing compared to our new gang of sniveling freshmen. The media has certainly decided to give them more than their fair share of enough attention. Their presence is also turning everyone's attention to us and we can't be sitting around when the attack comes."

"It's Ironic how people claim they detest violence yet thirst for a showdown..." she thought to herself.

"So... I'm calling in favors from our connections. We'll be taking the offensive before the week is out. To do that, we need to identify who we are up against. What their strengths and weaknesses are. What we need to do to make this simple and easy. That's where you come in,"

Lust eyes would narrow slightly as she listened to Skylar talk. He knew more than she did and she was hoping he'd go into more detail, but true to form he kept back just enough information to make her feel as if she wasn't completely in the loop.
If it was anybody else she'd light into them until they spilled, however with Pride such action would only delight is ego, and being a stubborn individual who hated to show weakness that was the last thing Kat wished to do. So instead she smiled softly and nodded her head at the appropriate times until he was finished speaking.

She wouldn't get much of a chance to respond though before Merrick contacted Pride via his ear piece.
As Kat listened in to one side of the conversation her eyebrows would raise up a bit as it became obvious Merrick ran into some trouble rather quickly.

"Who else has left the base?" Skylar asked after ending his back and forth with Gluttony, but again before she could respond she'd be interrupted - this time by a knock at the door.
"For fucks sake." Kat snapped, before pushing herself up from her chair. At this point it was obvious they weren't going to finish their conversation without interruptions, so seconds after he opened the door Lust would follow behind him.

"Look Cu-" Kat would quickly catch herself before her little nick name for Pride escaped her mouth. "I suppose we'll have to finish this conversation later." she'd say through pursed lips, before making her way past the others and heading towards her room.
"Excuse me."

Once she reached her room she'd shut the door somewhat forcefully before falling back onto her mattress, which is where she'd notice her phone blinking - indicating she had missed either a call or a message.

Sliding the lock screen away she'd find she had missed several calls and a few messages, most from her brother.
"What the-"
As if on cue her phone would begin to vibrate suddenly as a call came in and the false information she had put into her phone for her brother would flash across the screen.

"Hey sweety." she'd say, answering the phone rather casually even though her interest was extremely peaked.
"What the hell are you guys doing?" her brother spat, with a trail of fear in his voice. If anyone else had spoken to her in such a manner she would of quickly commenced in cussing them out, however she kept a calm voice with her sibling.
"I'm afraid I don't understand the question dear."

Her and her brothers relationship was a close but stressful one. Serving alongside the man who was single-handedly responsible for her removal from Divine City he had often provided her with heads up and intel from her grandfather if it directly effected her or Deadly, and he also had a freedom others who worked within or for the Virtue Chair didn't, so he was able to establish a secure line for the two of them to communicate on, however Kat usually had to watch her words on her end due to paper thin walls and forever open ears.

"The Chair is restless, they've sent more officers into Sin than I've seen in a long while....I was even excused from a meeting, but not before rumblings of an anticipated Gang war? What is-"
Kat would interrupt her brother as she sat up on the bed, a smirk painted on her face. "Restless you say? How wonderful...."

"This isn't a joke."
"I never said it was dear, but you surely know I really can't tell you anything in relation to Deadly - right?"
"Why not!? I'm risking my neck by-"
"-calm down."
"But-"
"I said calm down!!"

The line would go silent for several moments before her sibling would speak up again, much calmer.
"I'm not asking for specifics."
"I know, but if you don't know why they've sent officials to Sin what makes you think I'd have any better information? I'm sure everything I've found you already know about. However, I went digging through the Virtue's servers earlier and I got the distinct vibe they were a bit excited about Sin's latest group of wannabes. Their conversations with the officers were a bit...gleeful I guess you could say."
"Wait what? What did you find?"

Before the conversation could move any further her brother would suddenly cut their phone call short after someone knocked on his door, and the two siblings would have to say their goodbyes.

As Kat stood up from the bed to stretch a wicked grin would appear on her face.
"The Chair is anticipating a Gang War? This is interesting, since when have they cared to this extent."
She mumbled quietly to herself.

Within several minutes of hanging up the phone Kat would dress herself in a pair of black leggings with sheer cut-outs, and a grey thin-strapped top that was entirely sheer - minus the grey bra she wore underneath it - which barely held the girls in place.

After slipping on a pair of studded heels that put her height at a towering 6'3, Kat would quickly comb her long hair out, grab a grey poncho coat and then sling it over her arm before heading out her door and down the hall.

Jenna gave Cain a cursory glance before entering Pride's office. She rarely entered the place unless it was absolutely necessary. She figured the increased police presence just about everywhere came under the category of 'necessary'. She waited until Pride had dismissed Cain before she started talking, "So I'm guessing you've heard about the cops then?" Jenna bit her lip, "They are everywhere Pride, they're like ants or something. The whole place is crawling with police, every corner. They're taking people in, anyone who looks a bit off's going in the cars," Jenna looked to Amelia for backup, "only place that's empty of police is Divine City. And that's full of, well, you know what the city's full of." Jenna gave a little shrug.

Truth told, right now name was worried about Merrick and Cain, although Cain less so. What Cain saw as lightly armed was other people's definition of a full armoury. Cain would be fine. Merrick, as far as she knew, had took nothing to arm himself with. Merrick with all his odd little quirks and fears, his best hope was that Cain found him quickly. She wasn't entirely convinced she should risk another trip out tonight with so many eyes on the streets.

Kat's sudden departure came as no surprise and though the interruptions were irksome to him as well he simply chose to not show it. Pride's gaze flashed over to her retreating back as she slipped past the others and headed up to her room, leaving Jenna and Amy to take up his attention. He briefly considered calling her back. Having anyone prancing around the base in a huff tended to end with him being questioned and he didn't like being questioned. However, there were more pressing matters to be handled.

“No one else leaves the base,” he instructed instead, his voice raised to reach Kat before she had a chance to disappear out of view, and Amy who was lagging behind still.

As soon as Cail left, a shotgun resting over his shoulder, Pride turned and headed back into the meeting room where Jenna waited. Folding his arms over his chest, he crossed to the other side of the table, nodding his head before she could even finish her explanation. Cops in Sin, looking for gang members, and everyone was getting their panties in a bunch. To his credit, he refrained from cutting off her story even if he did suddenly seem impatient.

“I know,” he told her once she fell silent. “Our new freshmen friends have drawn so much media attention, the Chair must want to put an end to everything before a gang war turns into reality TV. Wouldn't that be something to entertain the masses?”

Of course, Pride knew better than to believe this explanation. However, he could not yet come clean with the entire truth that no one, not even Merrick, was privy to. A truth that would one day serve to inflate his own ego and give him much more credibility among not only the criminals of Sin but also the people in all of Divine City. How he longed for that day.

For now, he simply sank into his usual chair, swinging his feet up onto the table. He leaned back casually into a relaxed position before continuing.

“Which means that anyone is a target. Especially the more known faces of Sin. Us. Now... Greed here is newer to the gang so she's excused from this knowledge, but you know that this is not the first time law enforcement got in our way. We can freak out about it, or we can confront the issue the same we always do. My vote is for the latter.” His eyes fixed on Jenna, he seemed almost amused about the prospect of tripping up the law enforcement. Gone was the closed-off foul mood of the early evening. If his father wanted to play this game, Pride would gladly show him how to play it properly.

Several seconds before she reached the front door Skylar would order that no one was allowed to leave the base, and even though he hadn't said why Kat already knew and would sigh.

"This should be entertaining, house arrest..." she joked, before turning around and heading towards a back staircase that led up to the roof.
"I'll be back."

Their base wasn't much to write home about, but it was a few stories high and much like the other buildings in the neighborhood it had a flat roof.
"Oh my God, I feel it in the air...telephone wires above are sizzling like a snare." Lust would sing as she opened the thick emergency door that led to the roof. Once outside she'd quickly tense up her bare shoulders from the cold harsh wind, but instead of covering herself up Kat would walk to the very edge of the roof and then softly drop the coat - as well as the two Berettas tucked into the sides of it - to the rocks that littered the concrete floor.
"Honey I'm on fire, I feel it everywhere...nothing scares me anymore."
As she finished the chorus to Summertime Sadness in a low tone Lust scanned the street below her.
She had figured Jenna to be slightly exaggerating the extent of police presence within Sin, however from up on the roof ants is exactly what they looked like. For every resident she could see there was three or more officers. It was overkill to say the least so the sight caused her to laugh softly to herself as another rush of wind sent her hair flying, making her almost regret the random decision to drop her coat and embrace the cold.

As the breeze settled down some Kat would take a seat on the edge of the roof and cross her legs as if she was simply sitting in a chair. Still having her phone in her hand she'd quickly hit play on the Galaxy Note's video recorder and casually scan the streets up, down, and all around under the cloak of darkness. It was the night of the new moon so Sin was rather dark minus the few street lights that weren't actually broken - all of which were far enough away that she could go unseen.
Thanks to a hack job done by Lust months ago her phone was now capable of night-vision that was also accompanied by a list of various filters to assist in getting the best image in low or no light - some created by her herself.
She wasn't quite sure what she was attempting to capture but she knew it couldn't hurt to scan every visible spot within her vantage point.

Once satisfied with her brief recording she'd click her phone off and drop it lightly atop her coat before rubbing her shoulders, another harsh gust of wind causing her to shiver a bit but at the same time stimulating her senses.

Several minutes would pass as her eyes scanned from one police encounter to the next - occasionally drifting to other random things on the street. It was all probably uninteresting to most but observing was something Kat did well, and after a series of rather boring and brief encounters one would catch her eye.
A built man who easily stood at 6'5 if not higher approached an officer, not the other way around - which was unusual in and of itself, but when he pointed to a dark alley and the officer actually began to head towards it Lust would quickly lean back, grab her camera, and begin to record.

"Dammit." she spat as she was only able to get a few seconds of the man who had approached the officer recorded, but luckily she was able to record the officer going down the alley and then leaving several minutes later. After a few additional minutes of pointing her camera towards the pathway it appeared as if she wasn't going get anyone else on video, however just as she went to stop her camera from shooting a short figure exited the dark alleyway followed by two larger men. At first it was nearly impossible to see who the person was thanks to their hoodie and scarf. However when another strong gust of wind came along and pushed the figures hood back Kat's eyes would widen with disbelief.
"Mandy?" she'd mutter, continuing to record until the woman and the two men escorting her were out of view.

The 5'2 blonde, known simply as Miss. Amanda to those who served with or around her, was the youngest member of the Virtue thanks to her mothers passing, and the second loudest voice in the room behind Kat's own grandfather when it came to banning her from Divine City. To say their relationship was a strained one would be putting it extremely mildly, but that was beside the point as Kat peered down at the street below her.
"Why would a Virtue member be in Sin, talking to an officer face-to-face...what's so important that your physical presence is needed to convey a point versus making a phone call?"

Such a question would go unanswered as Kat threw her phone back on her coat and dropped her chin down onto her fist.
A ton of different theories were running through her head, but it was clearly obvious the Virtue was behind this sudden influx of officers, and after reading the files from their servers hours earlier it was also likely they had more to do with Deadly's latest group of challengers than they'd ever wish to admit, which made Lust's usual desire to launch an offensive strategy to take the upper-hand even stronger.

Greed

Upon returning to home base Amy hefted her box of supplies inside. No use in letting the cops potentially pick up a bunch of shady merchandise in Jenna’s car – they would probably impound the car if they knew what was inside the box and then Jenna would be furious. So Amy lugged it into the base and headed for the armoire where they kept their weapons.

She trusted Jenna to give Pride the low down on why they were back so early. Besides, she could hear them from the armoire and would lend backup when needed. Giving a polite nod to Wrath that she wasn't even sure he'd seen she set the box down quietly beside the armoire. She'd made the mistake of spooking him once so she tried to be extra quiet around him.

Wasting no time she pulled a small knife from her pocket and slit it through the tape that sealed the box. Opening the flaps she began quickly opening doors and hitting the switches for secret compartments where the more risqué items were kept and started to put everything away. She knew herself – if she didn’t put the things away as soon as she brought them in she’d wait until Pride scolded her into cleaning up.

The medial task gave her time to reflect and focus on the issue. Why were there so many cops out in Sin? What had changed to make them flock here like vultures to a corpse? Who were they looking for?

She didn’t have any more answers by the time she was done. So she rose to her feet and flattened the box. There weren’t really recycling trucks in Sin, but Amy liked to save the boxes and return them to the stores when she could. If she couldn’t recycle she could always reuse. Putting the box by the door so she would remember to take it with her next time Jenna and her set out Amy turned and headed for Pride’s office.

The door was open, but still she peeked her head in first. When Pride glanced at her she felt her face flush at the unspoken irritation for her lagging. Coughing lightly she walked in and murmured an apology before backing up Jenna.

“Sloth is right, they’re all over the place. Even on the outskirts,” Amy agreed. She knew Pride was plotting though; he had that look about him. A weird kind of glee that she’d noticed occasionally came with unexpected trials to face. The challenge always seemed to entice him.

Whatever made him break out of mister grumpy-foul-britches mood was fine by her.

Amy smiled a little at her own thoughts. “What do you want us to do, Mon Capitaine?” she asked suddenly eager to get moving again. Sitting around hiding from the cops wasn’t her idea of a fun plan and it looked to her like Pride had something much more interesting on his mind.

Mid-thought, Pride had to suppress the urge to wince when Merrick practically screamed into his ear before deactivating his mic again. From what he heard, he gathered that Cail had found him. This meant that Merrick was closer to the base than Pride had thought him to be. Also that Cail had just witnessed a side to Merrick that not many knew about. When no further information was relayed to him, however, he concluded that there was no immediate danger facing the two men, leaving him free to focus on the issue at hand.

His gaze wandering to fix on Amy, as she came in to provide back-up for Jenna's story, Pride lifted his hand lazily to his ear piece. "Have Envy escort you back to base. Find Lust. We'll regroup in the meeting room," he told Merrick simply. He couldn't be bothered to go look for anyone himself, it seemed. It was typical of his leadership style, and though he knew it got on people's nerves sometimes he was in the perfect position to simply not care.

"As far as what I want you to do..." he added to Amy as he shut off his earpiece. "I want you two to follow them. We need to know what the cops are doing out there. If this is a mass-branding or something else. Sloth, you got the wheels. Pick any cop car with a criminal in it and follow them from a distance. Greed, if you see an opportunity to get into the station, do so."

Pride was well aware that Amy's skill was centered around stealing a great variety of supplies. However, he also knew that to steal anything required stealth and the female had the look about her that could trick anyone into believing that she was a sweet little thing. Even Pride, himself, once mistook her for a very unfortunately innocent girl who was going to be swallowed up and spit out by the criminals in Sin. That was until some of his weapons turned up missing and he dragged Cail out to the streets to hunt her down.

"Take an earpiece with you and keep me updated. Anything goes wrong, we'll come get you. We're taking the offensive," he added to them. He didn't have to assure them of safety measures, of course. Pride was simply notorious for giving out and taking on jobs that seemed far too risky to many others. The safety of possible back-up plans helped the others around him fall in line easier and quicker. At the moment he needed this leverage to find out exactly what was going on and how the mass arrests tied into their new rival gang. There were too many variable and pieces to take action blindly.

Greed

Taking the ear piece Amelia glanced at Jenna. He wanted them to spy on the cops and find out their motives. A slow wicked smile curved her lips and she grinned.

"Oooh we'll be like secret spy agents!" she cheered gleefully and bounced her heels childishly.

Most would make the mistake of thinking Amelia wasn't taking the situation seriously, that she didn't understand how dangerous this mission was. But if Amelia was that foolish she would have died in Sin in her first week. She knew better than to let people see her as serious and intelligent when she looked like a innocent young thing. People expected her to be sweet and childish. Because they expected it they believed it readily and she used that to her advantage.

Okay, she really was excited about the mission too, it was an adventure and a challenge. Swindling rich guys and crooks alike out of their money and possessions was getting old. Using her childish features and bubbly personality to get information was new and exciting.

Popping the ear piece in she stuffed her hands in her pockets. "Sloth, my dear, I think I have an idea," she proclaimed. “I just have to change clothes.”

Giving a half serious salute, complete with her cheerful toothy grin, Amy turned and headed out of the office. Making her way to her room she quickly shimmied out of her shirt and put on something more girlish. Donning a white lightly pattered peasant t-shirt and a pale yellow cardigan she looked herself over. Yep, this would do. Clothes didn’t make everything when it came to looking innocent – but it sure helped.

Taking an extra two minutes she quickly plaited her hair into pigtails and fastened them with flower decorated hair ties. Then she skipped downstairs and grinned. “I’m ready! But do you think the pigtails might be too much?”

Jenna nodded as Amelia left the car. Nerves were perfectly understandable but Jenna knew she had no need to worry. Amelia was very good at what she did. Jenna slid a little lower in her seat and watched the world pass by, tuning in to the sound of engines that purred and roared. She liked that sound. She looked at her car. Did she really need a new radio? She shrugged, figuring the one she had was getting old by now. Amy was probably right.

Jenna snapped to attention when she heard footsteps coming down the alleyway. She watched the figure, relaxing when she realised it was Amy, back from her little mission. Jenna clocked the manila envelope, but didn't ask about it. Her curiosity was more than considerable, but the first thing they had to do was get it back to Pride. It would be his decision what they found out. Jenna was quite content just to taxi them to wherever they needed to be. She'd found in the past that asking questions lead to trouble. The best thing to do was just go where you were told, no questions asked. That way, if things went wrong, you could always plead ignorance and hope for the best.

"You gonna fill me in or what?" She asked Amy as they drove through the streets. Jenna flicked the headlights on, no point getting pulled for that error. She listened to Amy's account of events, nodding at the appropriate intervals. She parked up round the back of the building. She knew well enough that no one ever came down here, the car was perfectly safe. Police might get suspicious if they saw the same car leaving from the same place after everything the gang did. Jenna climbed out of the car, a little disappointed at how relatively easily the whole thing had been. Where was her freaking car chase? Jenna walked around to the front of the building, letting herself in and heading for Pride's office. She knocked on the door and waited for his confirmation she could enter.
