Introduction
In the end of one Civilization, and the beginning of another. The end of an old world and the beginning of a New. Namely a Renewal. The World in question, which is called Fenarin, had a civilization that had existed prior to the current. These race of Ancients existed long before, or even up till the beginning of the Humanoids (Elves, Dwarves, and Men, In Order of Appearance). They lived in an age of prosperity, the land was green and good. That is until a Great Enemy of the Ancients called by what's left of their known transcripts as Maelthra, The Maker of Dark, appeared. He was not like the other Ancients, who sought to create. He sought only to fight against what he deemed rejected his studies into the dark arts. So he enticed several elves to join him in the long struggle against the Ancients. But The ancients called upon the rest of elven kind to help in the struggle. In a war that lasted a thousand years, Maelthra threw everything his forces had at all the Ancients.
On the Last Day of this War, Maelthra struck down the Moral Heart of the Ancients, Their Beloved Queen, crippling the Ancients. Maelthra was about to claim his victory until The Queen's Elven servant, who loved her without question, took up his father's sword and dueled the Maker of Dark. According to the stories, the Two finally slew each other in combat, bringing the war to a costly victory for the Ancients, however, with their wills broken with the loss of their queen, the ancients faded away slowly for three decades, before vanishing completely, leaving the elves alone. Those who followed Maelthra however, were cursed, and became Dark Elves. It was during this time that Dwarves and Men appeared, beginning a new age for the world.
Time marched on, The events of the End of the Ancients have faded into Old Tales and stories. In the last six thousand years Kingdoms rose and fell. The current kingdoms known currently are as follows. Orina, the Kingdom of the Humans. Kreandor, the Kingdom of the Elves. The Dwarves built a City State in the mountains near Fenarin, whilst the Dark Elves live in the Zankor Wasteland, where their allegiance to any cause of war is decided by coin alone, in order to survive in the bleak desert they call home.
Many fortune hunters and archaeologists wander though from land to land, to seek out Ancient cities and Artifacts of those many millennia past. It is how the stories of their eventual fall were discovered, and how the tomb of their Last Ruler, The Fair Queen, was discovered. Try as many might, the tombs of both Maelthra and The Elf that slew him, were not found. But some never forgot.
The Kingdoms have lived in small peace with one another since the seventh time A Dark Elf known as Castien Taval attempted to unite the Dark Elves to war against the kingdoms. He was defeated only Seven years ago, but in retaliation of this defeat, killed the Queen of Orina, breaking the King's spirit. Slowly the kingdom of Fenarin distanced itself from the other kingdoms after this incident, leaving the other Leaders concerned.
But the leaders of the other Kingdoms had even larger worries seven years later when the King Of Orina died, leaving his heir to take the throne. Then of course there's the Cult. Rumors spread like a wildfire across the kingdoms of a secret cult dedicated to find the Tomb of Maelthra and silence all those who stand in their way. However, there is a secret within Orina. One that could either turn the Cult on it's head, or further their plans. Perhaps it is the self same tomb the Cult is after, or the Tomb of their Master's bitter enemy? The question is, not who or what is in there to be wakened, but when?
