How It All Started===

The Dimensions
To our knowledge, there are two Dimensions, also known as alternate universes. The universe we call the First Dimension, of course, is our own. The Second Dimension is widely known as the Digital World. The Second Dimension is believed to have been empty until human imagination came to be. Consequently, the Digital Dimension cannot exist without ours: the First Dimension.

How the Digital World Began
The "Digital World" is actually a misnomer, as it is in almost no way connected to data and electronics. It was misnamed due to the theory that all the creatures living there were parallel to the characters in a popular video game called Digimon. In actuality, the creatures were altered by the imagination of the video game's designers, who, by chance, were in very close proximity to a temporary weak point in the barrier between the two worlds. The Digital World then flourished and grew into a universe more like our own, but still tremendously different and strange. The names "Digital World" and "Digimon" simply stuck.
The "First Dimension" is also known as the "Human World," or "Our World" when referred to by humans.
The "Second Dimension" can also be called the "Digital World" or "Digital Universe."

Who Knows About The Digital World===

The Barrier
These two worlds are separated by a thin barrier. Research has shown that the barrier has grown weaker over the thousands of years we humans have existed, but lately the barrier has begun to deteriorate at a dramatically rapid rate. Sometimes it becomes weak enough to rupture in places and allow creatures to travel between dimensions.
Image
The Agency
Biologists and scholars granted special permission (as well as fortunate souls who happened to come across this phenomenon) have been studying and attempting to cross into the Second Dimension. Very few have succeeded, and even less have returned from their visit. The organization in charge of these studies and, more importantly, in charge of keeping the Second Dimension, are a team of people from all over the world sworn to secrecy. The organization is known as Alternate Universe Agency (A.U.A.). Understanding that digimon can be seen and used as a potential weapon, they keep their findings secret from any government organizations to prevent conflict between countries, as there are members from all over the world. All members are sworn to secrecy and most have spent years proving their loyalty to the A.U.A. as well as their neutrality towards all countries and other organizations.

A Bit of History===

The Encounter
The first group of humans to discover the Digital Dimension arrived when it was primitive and chaotic. Most of the digimon were still more animal than human in manner of behavior and conscience, that is, until the humans discovered a unique bond with some of the digimon. An incredible, almost psychic link was formed between human and digimon. Throughout their adventures, the humans learned they had the ability to make their digimon partners stronger by transferring their energy and making them digivolve. The digimon population rapidly grew more civilized over the years until all digimon in existence had the same ethical capabilities as any human.

Image

The War
After the last human-digimon encounter, when the humans returned to their own dimension, there was a period of peace in the Digital World as all its inhabitants followed the Codex, the book of laws written by the wisest digimon who ever lived with aid of his human partner. After five years, many rebelled against the Codex and united to seize control over all the Territories. The Ten-Year War began as the Rebellion and the original rulers struggled for control over the Digital World.
The leader of the Rebellion, a once powerful leader who was stripped of his title after his unjust ambitions were exposed, believed that power and status should belong to the strongest and the weak ought to serve those in power. He riled up the younger generation by making them believe that they were being controlled by silly laws and that their freedom was being withheld from them. Through his lies, he gathered a secret, organized force that soon turned into an army.
Good prevailed and peace was restored, but the war left very few alive. Those who were defeated in combat were reverted to digi-eggs, a result comparable to human death. Many digi-eggs have transformed and the world is slowing recuperating, but digimon are still small in number, with a population of about 100,000. Many are moving or have already returned to abandoned cities and villages.

A Digimon's Life===

Digi-Eggs
"Digi-eggs" (simply called "eggs," usually) are unique, indestructible, and living orbs that transform into "baby" digimon when they acquire enough life energy. It can take hundreds of years for a digi-egg to transform by absorbing life energy from the air and earth around them. Life energy can be transferred from a human to a digi-egg to accelerate the transformation, which can take from about 24 hours to three months, depending on the human's familiarity with life energy, the human's bond or emotional attachment with the digimon, and the power level of the digimon (the more powerful the digimon in the egg is, the less amount of time it takes to transform into a digimon).

Image

Life Energy
Life Energy is the energy that all digimon use to move, fight, and perform magical techniques and attacks. It's not the same as the energy humans normally acquire from day to day, but it is possible for humans to harness this Life Energy. Humans can only use life energy in the digital world, but digimon can use life energy in both worlds. Life energy is obtained by eating and breathing. Advanced-level digimon can learn to absorb energy from plants and other digimon.

Image

Recovery
When a digimon exhausts almost all of his or her life energy, they enter a state called Recovery where they fall unconscious and their body automatically absorbs life energy from anything that comes in contact with him or her until enough life energy is obtained. Recovery lasts until enough energy is obtained for the digimon to speak and move around. After that, they must find a different way to regain their energy (by rest, eating, or some other means) in order to use their life energy to perform magical techniques and attacks. A digimon in its Recovery State is vulnerable and once all of its life energy is depleted by an attacking force, it will become a digi-egg.

Humans and Life Energy
Because humans, unlike Digimon, have a practically unlimited life energy (which is far different from the energy used in the human world), they can transfer that energy to a digimon or digi-egg to make that digimon digivolve.

Digivolution
Digivolving, or "transforming," is instantaneous growth and development of a digimon, much like metamorphosis. For all digimon, there are six stages of digivolution. The stages are (as nicknamed): Baby, In-training, Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, and Mega. Digivolving can occur naturally without the aid of a human, but it takes years. A digimon's life cycle is as follows.
Baby to In-training = 5 to 7 months
In-training to Rookie = 7 to 9 years
Rookie to Champion = 3 to 5 years
Champion to Ultimate = 3 to 5 years
Ultimate to Mega = 10 to 12 years
*A "year" in the digital world is the same amount of time as a "year" in our world.

Baby Digimon
Digimon in Baby Form look nothing like human babies. One is typically no larger than a football and look like small or baby animals. Of course, they're not like the animals in the human world and most look very unnatural and alien-like (but also very adorable!) Baby Digimon can perform magical attack or defense techniques on instinct, without having to learn them. But they are very weak compared to what an older digimon is capable of. Baby digimon attacks are meant to momentarily blind a threat or make a quick escape.

In-Training Digimon
The next stage of development, an in-training digimon grows quite a bit. Your typical in-training digimon is about the size of a house cat. This isn't always the case, though, as the size depends on the species. Their attacks are far more advanced that a baby digimon's, but still considerably weak—not enough to cause much damage to a human, but still powerful enough to hurt.

Rookie Digimon
Rookie-level digimon widely range in size—from as small as a toy poodle to about the size of a full-grown tiger. Size doesn't always determine power, however. A rookie digimon, depending on the species, may appear humanoid, standing upright on two legs and having opposable thumbs, even. Rookie digimon are much more dangerous than in-training digimon and can cause serious damage or even death to a human. Rookie digimon are widely viewed as careless, having not yet learned to fully control their attacks.

Champion Digimon
When a rookie digimon digivolves into a champion digimon for the first time, it isn't uncommon for him/her to lose control and unleash a barrage of powerful attacks accidentally. Champion digimon are the most common, taking about 35% of the digital world's population.

Ultimate Digimon
Ultimate-level digimon take about 25% of the current digimon population. They can be considered as the "adults" of the digital world.

Mega Digimon
Although "ultimate" means "final," ultimate-level isn't the end. Mega-level digimon are as powerful as you can get. A mega-level digimon can easily level a three-story building. Although they are very dangerous, mega digimon are known for being the wisest. They are often in leadership positions. Most mega digimon are in humanoid form. Mega Digimon make up only about 2% of the population.

More About Digivolution
When a digimon is digivolved naturally, it will stay in that form until it digivolves to a higher level.
When a human makes a digimon digivolve, depending on how much energy is transferred, that digimon will return to the form he or she was in before the human digivolved him/her, unless its previous form was a digi-egg.
When a lower-level digimon digivolves into a higher-stage form by aid of a human, his or her personality will stay the same. For example, if a human digivolves an in-training digimon into a champion digimon, the now-champion digimon will still act like an in-training digimon even though he or she appears older.
A digimon that has been reverted to a digi-egg will remember his/her past life/lives. S/he will also have the same personality and act as old as they really are, even if they are in baby form.
There are very few living digimon in existence who have lived a past life.
Digimon do not die of old age, as a human might. When a digimon's life energy is completely and utterly drained, s/he will return to a digi-egg and remain as a digi-egg until enough life energy is obtained to transform into a baby digimon. To our knowledge a digimon will keep on living until he or she is attacked enough to be drained of all life energy.

Reproduction
Digimon have never been known to reproduce. They are, as individuals, endless. A digimon's life is a repeating cycle.
Consequently, digimon don't have "parents." But digimon, especially within the same species or region, are known to take care of younger digimon and raise them, becoming their mentors and guardians.
Digimon don't fall in love the same way humans do, so the purpose of a digimon's gender is immediately questioned. Many assume it's simply because humans have genders. We are, after all, the beings parallel to digimon. The true reason is unknown.

Humans and Digimon===

A Human's Life Energy
Humans can still be physically harmed and even killed in the Digital Universe. To ignorant digimon, they may appear fragile and defenseless, but humans can learn to use for themselves the life energy that digimon use. But what makes humans so special is that, unlike digimon, they have an unlimited life energy. The hard part is finding the ability to tap into that power. When using life energy, a human may learn to perform their digimon partner's powerful attacks and techniques.
But there are a few catches. A human is stuck using his or her normal energy and can only tap into life energy once he or she has a digimon partner. Then that human can only perform attacks and techniques that their digimon has the ability to do.
Not only that, but a human cannot use life energy in the First Dimension (our world) unless a digimon can by some means transfer life energy to their human partner. A digimon, however, can use as much life energy that is available to them in the Human World.

Image

Pain
Another important difference is the fact that humans are very unique in their ability to feel a certain magnitude pain—both emotional and physical. "Pain" as felt by a human is different than "pain" as experienced by a digimon. If a digimon is attacked and harmed, they feel a certain discomfort varying in intensity, depending on the severity of the damage. In other words, a digimon's "pain" is different and far less intense than a human's "pain."

Partners
As before mentioned, a digimon and a human can form a partnership, granting the ability the human to use Life Energy. It also allows the duo to more efficiently transfer Life Energy. Even more fascinating is the fact that the two can develop something of a psychic link. Human-digimon partners have been found to be able to read each other's thoughts and emotions from miles away. Some humans and digimon have claimed to "sense" that their partners were close by without knowing their exact location.
The genders of the partners are of no importance. A male digimon can have a male partner and a female digimon can have a female partner. A male digimon can be partners with a female human, and vice versa.

The Digital World===

Image

As far as our sources are able to detect, the continents and oceans of the digital world are exactly the same as our continents and oceans. But for some reason, the differences of climate and terrain are surprisingly significant. Thus, the landscapes in the digital world are very unlike the land of our planet earth. The digital world's atmosphere cannot be explained by—nor does it seem to abide by—our meteorological science. The weather in the digital world has also proven to be very unpredictable, and most of the A.U.A. meteorologists have simply given up trying to explain it.
The Second Dimension's Earth is divided into regions called "realms." Realms are like countries, with their own cultures and government systems. The names of these realms are usually self explanatory. For example:

The Shade Realm
The Realm of Undying Wind
The Marsh Realm
The Realm of Many Rivers
The Desert Realm
The Sea Realm

Realms often have specific types of digimon who inhabit it. The Sea Realm is mainly inhabited by digimon who are built for swimming, while digimon who prefer darkness to full sunlight would likely be found in the Shade Realm.

Darren looked up at the dimly glowing moon, images of years gone by flashed like a silver screen across his mind. How many years had it been since that time? Darren had lost track of it a long time ago and yet the memories still plagued his mind, loneliness his only companion. He looked down below him, the ground miles away as branches surrounded him. This tree had been his home for years and he was unfamiliar with anything outside of its area. Although his memories filled his nightmares with images of war and death he couldn't remember much past that, having no memories of his true home. I guess it's time to hunt he thought to himself as he leapt from the branch he was perched on, landing on the balls of his feet without a sound. He looked up at the moon one last time and then took off into the night.

She was only a baby again.
AT one point in her life Zento had been a champion. A hero. However, right now she was a tiny Draakmon.

She wasn't stupid, a baby should always stay hidden, there was no telling what would be lurking around ready to attack at any moment.

It was a quiet evening the faint sounds of other digimon shuffling through the darkened forest was the only thing keeping this tiny baby awake. Plus the bright full moon shone into the small hollowed tree she had snuggled into. She would move in the morning when the sun shone bright and she could gain the energy to digivolve.

The older digimon sat under a large tree as he watched Nightshade strike at a tree. She had come a long way in such a short time. He often wondered if that was because of how strong she was in her last life. His large green eyes stayed locked on her, though he checked to make sure there was no one threatening around every once in awhile. As he sat there, he couldn't help but to remember the time before, when she was still in her little egg, just waiting to be hatched.

The younger Knight sat there in the dark forest of the Shadow Realm. His green eyes sparkled as he stared at the large golden egg. Soon, she would be born again. Soon, he would no longer be alone. His mind flooded with worries and doubts. Would she even remember him? And if she didn't, would she want anything to do with him? Suddenly, his mind was forced back to the present as the egg began to shake. A small smile spread across his loosely stitched lips. A large golden fox tail broke free from the egg first before the whole thing crumbled and exposed the small digimon. Before him sat a wide eyed Relemon. "Mello?" She creature asked before bouncing a few times in front of him. His smile faded slightly but he tried to keep it. With one hand, he pointed to himself. "I am Knight." He said then pointed to her. "You, my dear, are Nightshade." He said in a loving tone. The little digimon gave a confused look for a moment before giving a wide smile and pouncing on him. "Knight, Knight, Knight!!!"

He gave a sigh, a smile still perched on his face as he continued to watch her practice. Suddenly she put more force into her punch and the tree shattered where she had hit it. As the tree fell, Knight shook his head. "My dear, I think you have killed enough trees for the day." He gave a small chuckle as he gazed at five other trees that had met the same fate.

Ping

……
Pingpingpingpingpingping–––
Aña pressed a button on her headphones to receive the call.
"What is it?" she snapped irritatedly. She already knew who it was before the caller replied.
"Commander," Rose Ann addressed in a nonchalant manner, "You ought to come see this. It's quite urgent."
Her voice didn't sound urgent at all. No matter what the subject was, Rose Ann always drew out her vowels in a casual, relaxed way. Aña knew there was no way to predict the urgency of the situation based solely on the tone of Rose Ann's voice. She had a way of sugaring her statements and making a molehill out of a mountain, so to speak.
"I am on my way," Aña said into the mic of her headset, then added, "And I have told you dozens of times before. You only need to press the button once to call."
"Mm-hmm," Rose Ann was clearly smiling smugly on the other end, "Well, it is urgent, you know."
Aña strode through the dimly-lit halls to the command center. Rose Ann was notorious for a little mischief, but she wasn't one for stupid pranks. She knew not to say that something was urgent when it really wasn't, especially when addressing her boss.
A group of about seven agents surrounding a large computer screen sensed her approach and moved out of her way. Rose Ann reclined in her swivel chair as if she was bored.
"What's going on, Agent Shackleton?" Aña asked the female agent who was operating the computer.
"Massive barrier weakening in Sector 5," Shackleton replied, her fingers rapidly tapping on the keyboard.
"I can see that," Aña shot Rose Ann a skeptical look, "How is this any different than the other big ones we've detected?"
"Well," Rose Ann sat up in her chair, "Just look at where it's at."
"We've had to clear public areas before," another agent explained, "But not in such a busy area. If you look here, you can see the weakened area's range—"
"We might as well try to evacuate Central Park," Rose Ann cut in, "We've slithered our way into law enforcement a teeny bit in the past, but we can't do this without taking over a whole police squadron, at least." She seemed more interested in how her boss was going to respond rather than the predicament itself.
{Oh, there's an emergency?} Enka's voice spoke in Aña's mind. Although she was now in the first dimension and couldn't use the life energy she wielded in the digital world, Enka and Aña maintained a strong, psychic link. They could still reach out with their minds and contact each other telepathically, even though they were no longer in the second dimension. They could also sense where their partners were located, depending on how far away they were. Aña quickly discovered that Enka was in his room.
{Ah, I see you are awake now, you lazy bum,} she chided, {Get down here. We have trouble.}
{I wasn't sleeping this whole time}
Enka was quickly making his way to the command center, {I was on the internet, reading a fascinating article about cholesterol.}
{Cholesterol of all things?}
{Yes. You know as well as I do that we digimon don't need such substances to survive, unlike humans. Did you know that high concentrations in your blood (also an interesting thing we digimon don't have) can be very hazardous to your health, causing conditions like atherosclerosis, which is a–––}
{Yes, yes, I know! I am a biologist, you nitwit.}
Enka amusedly ignored the remark as he scampered down the corridor.

Darren swiftly swept from tree to tree, a rather large beast hung from his shoulders, weighing him down a bit. The hunt had been good and his mind had released some of his worries but it wasn't enough to forget the memories. He paused as the visions played through again, they are getting worse, he thought to himself as he stood again and proceeded on his way. After finishing the last bit of his meal Darren began to settle down for the evening, as sleep began to invade his mind he leaned against the trunk of the tree and allowed the dreams to play out.

"Commander," Agent Shackleton said urgently, "The rate of barrier deterioration is accelerating. It has already ruptured in several places. It's very likely that humans and digimon will be able to pass through these barriers without even meaning to. The barrier has never weakened nearly this rapidly before."
"Heck, yeah," Rose Ann agreed, "Usually, the barrier weakens slowly enough to give me time to travel there by plane, check in at a hotel, and get a coffee while I wait for something interesting to happen. Looks like Starbucks will have to wait this time. That's too bad..."
Rose Ann rambled on about coffee as Aña resisted the urge to shut her up. It was a lost cause and, more importantly, she had to think quickly of a solution to the current predicament. Her brow furrowed in deep contemplation, her dark green eyes reflecting the world map on the computer screen.
Most of the map was tinted green, indicating that the barrier was solid and strong, keeping the two dimensions safely apart. Slowly fluctuating shades of blue signaled slight weaknesses, which were mostly ignored as such were common and unimportant. The colors that alarmed the agents to summon the commander were the concentrated splotches of orange above Annapolis, Maryland. Tiny dots of red would appear within the orange spots, then disappear, only to appear again elsewhere more numerous than before. The red indicated complete rupturing of the barrier--the kind that would allow passage to and from the dimensions.
"How much time would it take to get a good number of agents to Annapolis?" Enka inquired calmly as he perched on Aña's right shoulder.
"About half an hour," Aña replied, her voice quiet, "By then and at this rate of barrier deterioration, I estimate at least ten humans will disappear from this dimension and the same number of digimon will be brought here, roaming Annapolis."
"Ten?" Enka murmured, wondering where the number came from.
"It's more of a guess," Aña admitted. It was becoming increasingly clear that she was troubled as her Russian accent intensified. "Portals are very unpredictable, as you know. We don't have sufficient data due to the scarcity of barrier openings."
"There's a chance that nobody will go through the portal," an agent said hopefully.
"Don't count on it," Rose Ann said grimly, "These portals are opening and closing like there's no tomorrow. Commander, what's the plan?"
The room was quiet as the agents anticipated Aña's response.
"Agent Lewis, Enka, be ready to leave for Annapolis in exactly ten minutes," she barked, shattering the silence, "The rest of you record as much data as you can. In one hour, I want to know whether this rift is spreading and if it is, how quickly. Pay attention to the local news. Hack into social media. See if anyone has noticed this phenomenon. Enka, try to get in one of the portals. You and I will attempt to maintain communication as you guide humans trapped in the Second Dimension."
"And how am I to do that, exactly?" Enka asked, startled.
Aña answered him privately, {I do not know.}

Half an hour later, Rose Ann and Enka were dropped off in Annapolis.
Enka balanced on Rose Ann's bulging backpack in which was packed a few changes of clothes and other essentials. Enka made sure to advise her to pack basic survival gear: a first aid kit, bottled water, a thermal blanket, an all-weather poncho, a dried emergency food, etc.
Rose Ann yawned and stretched in the cool night air, "Now what? You think the chief will be mad if we get a quick coffee?"
Enka chuckled softly, "Actually, I could use a—"
He stopped short and scrambled atop Rose Ann's shoulder, perking his large violet ears.
"What's up with you, fuzzball?" Rose Ann adjusted her pack.
"The portals, I think I can sense one near."
"Ah, that oughtta make our job easier. Well, frankly, I was hoping to get a coffee first—"
"Agent Lewis," Enka interrupted, pointing to a building across the street with his tail, "Behind that museum! Quickly!"
"Hang on there, let me find a crosswalk—"
"No time! Just cross!" Enka urged sternly.
Rose Ann didn't question when he acted like this. She bolted across the four-lane street, shouting, "If I get hit, I'm holding you personally responsible!"
"The portal is closing!"
"Give me a break," she dashed behind the building, "This pack is heavy!"
"Look, Just straight ahead."
Rose Ann collided with the portal before she even saw it. As simply as if they had just walked through a doorway, they were in the Second Dimension.
"Well, that was easy," Rose Ann casually set down her pack before taking in her surroundings. They were in a small clearing surrounded by deciduous trees. It certainly didn't look like they were in another world. Rose Ann was slightly disappointed, but she put on an cheerful smile, "Now let's find those poor souls—"
"Agent Lewis," Enka warned, "There's a yorumon over there."
"A what, now?" Rose spun around to see a shadowy outline of a fox-like humanoid creature.
"Oh," she said quietly, "That..."

(I'm gonna do a little back tracking just a bit to get back on track)
Darren sat in the branches of his tree feeling satisfied with his catch. He looked out across the forest of trees. 'It's another quiet night' he thought to himself. As he sat quietly alone, he suddenly began to feel a pressure in the air, something he never felt before made the air crackle with energy. Curious and a little wary of what was happening he leapt from his tree once more and proceeded to track the source of the phenomenon. After traveling a bit away from his home he felt his legs suddenly give underneath him as a turret of energy washed over him and he began to fall. He landed in a pile of brush not far from where he fell and as he regained his consciousness he opened his eyes. Standing before him was an unfamiliar digimon and another weird creature. "Who...who are you?" he said as he fell unconscious again.

"Shoot!" Rose Ann hesitated before running towards the creature. She had to remind herself that although he (or she? she wondered) looked like some wild animal or alien, digimon have minds and think like humans do. If she saw a regular human collapse without warning, she'd naturally rush to help. Helping this digimon shouldn't be any different.
Enka was far ahead of Rose Ann, standing on his hind legs about ten feet away from the creature to get a better look at a safe distance. The creature was clearly unconscious, but the sense of caution that had served Enka when he fought in the Ten-Year War was still with him even now. He proceeded slowly until he approached the yorumon's head, unsure of what to do.
Rose Ann caught up a few seconds later.
"Maybe I should've grabbed the first-aid kit?" she wondered aloud.
"No," Enka muttered, "The supplies in there would only be useful to a human. Digimon don't bleed, neither do their bones break."
"So what's wrong this...guy?" She noted the fox creature's armor and weapons, "You don't think he'll wake up suddenly and attack us, do you? Seems the warrior-type, if you ask me."
Enka closed his eyes and concentrated for a second, "No, his life energy is depleted, it seems. It may take a while for his energy to recover."
"How do you know that?" Rose Ann, reassured, kneeled next to the digimon to get a closer look.
"Recognizing and sensing life energy is a skill all digimon can learn. Humans can learn it too."
"Think I could learn it?"
"Like all techniques requiring life energy, a human would need a digimon partner to tap into that power."
"Yeah, of course..." she mumbled. It hadn't occurred to her until now that maybe she wasn't well-suited for this mission. She was now trapped in the digital world with no way to defend herself. Perhaps Aña only wanted her out of her hair. Rose Ann smiled a bit at the thought. As much as their personalities conflicted, Rose Ann loved the AUA commander like someone would love a grumpy but doting grandmother.
"I'm going to attempt to revive him," Enka said, "It's the decent thing to do. And he may have seen a trapped human around."
He rested his right forepaw on the yorumon's chest and closed his eyes. He focused on the life energy coursing through his body and directed it to his paw and into the digimon. His body began to glow slightly, like a weak fluorescent bulb. About two seconds passed, and the light emanating from his body dimmed completely. He opened his eyes somewhat groggily.
"That should be enough," he thought out loud, "We'll see if anything happens."

Darren was surrounded in darkness, his body seeming to float as if it was in water. Before him was a screen displaying images in black and white. As Darren continued to watch he realized the images being played out were scenes from his own life. He saw his home village, or what once was his home village, jumping relamon with happy faces filled the screen while a lonely discolored relamon stood in the back. He saw his journey away from home to find his inner peace and then his discovery of the truth. Then he saw images from the Ten Year War and attempted to turn away from the screen. 'I am not that person anymore. Suddenly the images were in front of him again and this time it was an image of him saving a small village from a kawagamon. Darren looked on as tears began to well up in his eyes. The final image he saw was of him taking his own life and becoming a digiegg, and as the scene ended a bright light scattered the darkness and Darren embraced it like an old friend. Darrens eyes opened as they attempted to readjust to the light. Upon sensing several presences nearby he jolted upright, his Katana already released from its sheath. "Friend or foe?" he said with caution in his voice.

Rose Ann jumped back as the digimon unsheathed a long sword. She let out an involuntary squeak of alarm, but quickly attempted to composed herself. She stood up and tried to keep her voice from sounding panicky, "F-friend! We're all friends here, hon! See, now look at me—completely unarmed!" She chuckled nervously as she held up her hands in a surrendering gesture.
Enka had leaped between Rose Ann and the yorumon, the air around him crackling slightly with static electricity. His long tail swept from side to side and his voice was stern, but mild, "We mean no harm to anyone, my friend. We saw you unconscious on the ground and I revived you."
But perhaps too much, he thought to himself.

His fingers moved rapidly as he saw every inch of documentation. Max was up all night, as he tapped the keys of his keyboard. The smile on his face wide as he knew that he was almost about to crack into the system. "You, are a pain in the ass!" He says in his dorm at 4 in the morning. He had been up all night fighting against the firewall of a website known as UAU. The hacking community all tried and failed at seeing what was on the other side of the wall, and most people made stories about how it was just another trolling arrangement or had unlimited bank account passwords. Max didn't care, as long as he found a way inside.

Another 30 minutes passed as his fingers typed, the codes being just a blur and his eyes reading over everything the wall throwed at him. With a sigh of great relief, he entered the last code and entered the digital archive of UAU. He started scanning through everything, seeing all the files available until he ended up on a peculiar one named 'Experiment D'. He opened it up and saw another folder inside. It being lonely, with the name of 'DigitalWorld'. With a couple of clicks, he blacked out.

What seemed like an eternity later, he found himself surrounded by vegetation. "Where in the world am I?" He asked, looking around standing up. He sighed, "This is one weird ass dream." He said, moving off. He came upon a small, purple dragon looking thing. He went down and petted it. "Hey little buddy... what's your name?" He asked, not knowing what this purple Draakmon would do.

Darren sheathed his swords in a flash and quickly got to his knees and bowed to them his nose nearly touching the ground. "I am terribly sorry, I thank you for your assistance." He quickly got to his feet and began to walk in the direction of his tree home before he crumpled to the ground again, his legs week.

Zento had been casually minding her own business when she felt a warm hand pat her head. Whatever it was it did not smell like anything she had ever smelt before. Before she turned to see whatever it was touching her without permission it spoke. In a voice that could only mean one thing.

The small purple baby stepped back before showing her teeth to this .... human.
' How in earth did you get here?' she chirped with a high pitch growl.
She didn't really think he was going to bring her any harm, but in this form she couldn't really protect herself if he did yet something was forcing her to stay.

She was now presented with an inner struggle, she could either take a chunk from this boys hand or submit to him. She waited on his next move before deciding the next move.

"Oh...my," Rose Ann blinked, surprised at the digimon's startlingly formal apology. She was expecting far less cooperation and was even about to prepare herself to jump out of the way to give Enka room to call down a bolt of lightning and, in effect, beat the heck out of some ferocious digimon. She reminded herself that this wasn't some feral animal—digimon were just as mentally capable of courtesy as any human. But still, this creature's gallantry was almost too much. That didn't stop Rose Ann from feeling flattered, though.
Enka was equally caught off-guard. It took half a second to collect himself as the yorumon swiftly arose and began to walk away. He was about to call him back, but the fox-like creature fell to the ground.
Rose Ann, whose mistrust had instantly diminished, was by the fallen digimon's side before Enka could react. With the slightest hesitation, she stooped down to place a hand on the yorumon's shoulder. She said as soothingly as she could, "Why don't you sit yourself down for a bit, hm? You're not fit to be walking."

Rose Ann cried out slightly as the fox creature slumped unconscious. She shifted her position to support his back and laid him down gently on the grass. She bit her lip in worry. She had been trained in basic procedures for medical emergencies, but everything she learned was for humans. If what Enka had said was true about digimon be that different from humans, she had no idea how to treat a fainted digimon.
Enka walked slowly toward the two. He was growing tired very quickly. He stood over the yorumon's head and examined him.
"I know what the problem is," he said, his breaths becoming heavier, "The rupture in the barrier has caused almost all of the life energy in this area to escape. It's affecting me as well as our friend here. We need to get out of here. Now."
Without hesitation Rose Ann lifted the yorumon to a limp sitting position, then brought his arms over her shoulders so she could carry him on her back.
It was more like dragging than carrying. Rose Ann was no bodybuilder, and she was shorter than the yorumon so his feet dragged behind as she trudged along. Enka walked a couple meters behind. After five minutes of the awkward trek, they approached a thicker cluster of trees.
"Here is fine," Enka announced as he walked under the shelter of a large, umbrella-shaped tree.
Rose Ann followed. She tried to be gentle, but she was too exhausted and ended dropping the yorumon far more roughly than she intended.
She sighed heavily in relief as she leaned back against the tree, her eyelids heavy.
"I could use a Starbucks. Right now," she mumbled, pulling up a corner of her mouth in a wincing smile.

Darren let out a small moan a few hours later, he looked around his surroundings becoming away of two presences nearby. he peered through the twilight as morning began to arrive. He discovered the strange creature from before resting against a nearby tree, it seemed to be sleeping as its eyes were closed and it mumbled under its breath. Darren was only able to catch bit and pieces of it but it appeared she was dreaming about something called a starbucks. As he continued to scan the area he saw the digimon from before, looking out towards the sky seeming to be on watch. "wha...what happened?" he asked softly as not to wake the strange creature against the tree.

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

Polka: Sorry, I didn't check the OOC boards until now. xP Not much has happened during your absence, so it should be pretty easy to catch up.

Darkrael: Okay, we'll miss you while you're gone. :c But thanks for the heads up!

A friendly little reminder for everyone: I'm sure it's been a long while since any of us have read the rules, but please remember to keep the language clean! No place for profanity here! :)

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

I'd really hate to do this to you guys but i might be MIA for awhile, life is just busy and I don't get the time to come on as i use to. I would still like to keep my character but would you be ok with moving the plot forward by using him as an NPC for now sandbear... i believe i've set him up to be played really by anyone so i don't think you have to worry about that. just give me a reply back as soon as you can.
-Darkrael-

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

Hi I'm back for some reason the past few weeks the site would not let me on? can someone update me on what is happening x

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

Welcome baaaack~
Yeah, school is...school. I understand how you'd be busy. x)
Things have been slow here so you haven't missed much. I hope things get rolling again but the chances are quite slim, it seems.
Oh, well. We'll do our best, post as much as we can, and if people don't come back, it might end up being a one-on-one. But that's okay. ^^

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

Ahoy people of the rp! My name is Cheesey Monkey and I'm so sorry for not having posted since I had trouble with school. Hopefully you will all forgive me (especially Polka) and we'll get back to things as usual. Sorry again.

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

Alright, it took me a while to get back to the computer, but I now have Enka and Rose Ann in the Second Dimension with Daren.
I think we should be able to revive this roleplay now that the stage is set for interaction between characters. Hopefully by then this roleplay will have more activity and more people will join despite our rather sluggish start (which is pretty much all my fault orz).

Ah, and thank you very much, Polka ^^ I agree with Darkrael. We'll keep their characters for now in case they come back.

Any suggestions for "rejigging" the plot a bit, as Polka suggested?

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

or perhaps maybe a way to connect the individual intros. it seems to me that the problem lies in that there is a set plot line from the GM but no direction, which causes the role play to become stale. If no direction is given then people tend to stand still. Thank you for all your effort polka, and lets not completely count them out yet because like manic and sandbear have said "life happens"

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

I haven't heard anything back from CheesyMonkey
I will assume that he won't be back either. That leaves is two characters down x

Maybe we could rejig the plot a little so it could work with the people who have been here the whole time?

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

Yes, go ahead, Manic. c:
Things have been crazy in my life, too, so I can understand any absence. Roleplaying should never take priority over a sick child, yeah? Life happens to everyone. xD
I have another human character under construction, so that should be finished soon and we can really get this roleplay moving.

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

I think so.

Though I'm still waiting for SandBear to reply to my post....

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

Ok, just to double check. I actually meant to do this days again, but with the daughter sick and everything else in my life going wrong, I haven't had the time.
We can post our human waking up in the digital world, right?

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

Ok so Ageha wont be returning. I think you may want to get in touch with them Sandy?
Mainly there are some question I can't answer to them because it's your RP:)

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

Wondahfuul~
I'm glad——the world needs more polite people, especially on the internet. x)

I edited the "Places" so there is now a First and Second Dimension. Nobody except me has any AUA characters yet, but in case anyone is planning on creating any:
The Agency is kind of middle-ground between the first and second dimensions (although it's physically located in the first dimension), so posts taking place at the AUA can be in either "places," depending on which "plot" he/she is connecting with at the moment.

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

I'm always polite :) I will make sure to post to them later tonight !

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

Ah, I was wondering how to do that. Gracias, Darkrael. c: I shall do that right away. :D

Since you've so kindly offered, Polka, I'd greatly appreciate you contacting the people who haven't posted yet. I just ask that you do it politely as you can. ^^

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

Haha :) Sorry about the short post guys. Though I think an introductory paragraph is a fabulous idea... I just found it really hard for some reason

I think i just needed a little more to work with.

Anywho. Co-GM's are always good I was actually going to suggest if you wanted me to chase up on people who haven't posted yet ? And start Ass kicking if people randomly stop posting. Just to take some of the stress away from you dear Sandy

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

I would love to be your co-GM sandbear. I apologize for the mistake... i did say i accidently snooped but i didn't snoop that far -.-; just pm me when you've made a decision on what you want to do and a set of instruction on what you want me to do... also don't forget to make the co-GM thing official by going to the chat for this roleplay and using /addGameMaster (username).

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

I agree that Darkrael should do it. I am limited on time, I apologize.
Also, just randomly, I am a she :)

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

Yes, I was actually already considering adding another "place," ^^ but I wanted to first have an opinion on whether we should go with the multiple-plot plan or not before I changed a bunch of stuff. :/
A co-GM is also a good idea. Would you do it Darkrael, since you suggested it and as you said, have plenty of time? :D

Re: Digimon: The Second Dimension

might I make another small suggestion? so as not to confuse everyone in the role play and make it easier to have two separate plot lines, why don't you add a second "place" to the role play. you have the second dimension as the default so of course everyone is gonna role play there. If you find it difficult to manage the time to edit the page I could also suggest taking up a co-GM. the most logical choice is manic since he has been here the longest (from what I understand he has been here since RPG was first created... sorry manic I accidently went snooping V.V) another logical choice would be *cough* me. i have nothing but time and am familiar enough with RPG where I think I could help tremendously.
