XXXXXXImage
XXXXXXX“...Because of the dragon sightings, Divine Faustine II names the next age as Dragon Age, while she was ready to name it as Sun Age, predicting that it will be an age of violence and upheaval.”

XXXXX"An age of violence and upheaval... By 9:29 Dragon the foreboding future of turmoil predicted by the late Divine Faustine had yet to come to light. I mean, if you don't count this kick ass group of rebels tearing through Thedas as if the place was crafted of warm butter... and Fereldan finally gaining independence from Orlais. Seriously though, forget Fereldan, Chasseur de tresor is unstoppable. Send any size army their way, you don't stand a chance. Not to mention their leader is rumored to be an unstoppable force of unbridled power...
XXXXXAh, who am I kidding. Chasseur de tresor's rumors of power are way out of hand. Five people couldn't possibly be able to take down whole armies on their own, no matter how talented. The rumors are false, well except that last one about the leader. She's awesome... she's me. I've taken to the rumors though, they have been bringing in more business, at this point we could probably retire. We won't though, none of us are ready to give up the adventure just yet. Too much to do, so much more to discover, we wouldn't trade it for the world.
XXXXXBut something isn't right. There is change coming, it's big, and it isn't good. The places we go, we've seen Darkspawn, fought Darkspawn. It's hard to explain, but there's an agitated static in the air. The kind that comes right before a storm, and it makes me think of what Divine Faustian said about wanting to call our age Sun. I think the violence is coming, I think the world is sick, and there is nothing we can do about it.
XXXXXPretty pessimistic right? I say there is nothing we can do, but it doesn't mean we will sit idly by. Each time we discover a new relic, uncover an undiscovered ruin, translate an ancient glyph we are bringing back secrets lost to time. Ugh, I'm starting to sound like Elaris I'm not supposed to be so doom and gloom. If there is nothing we can do I can't dwell on it, I'll keep looking forward, fight the next fight enjoy myself a little. I'm finally doing something with my life, I might as well enjoy it."

-Artemis on The State of the Wold.

XXXThe famous band of treasure hunters started humbly, as any great group of tale and fiction had. Two kids who had decided they had enough of the small village they grew up in set off in adventure of the unknown. It started with a storyteller and a legend. It ended with triumph and adrenaline and the two kids never stopped hunting after that.
XXXChasseur de tresor started with only two kids, but over the years they made friends and allies who have joined their journey. Each new member with a skill all their own that they excelled at and with a yearning for knowledge or adventure. With rare and valuable treasures the group first made their money by selling information and these relics, but as word spread through the Orlaisian nobility the rich and scholarly began seeking the group out to seek legends and rarities for higher prices than they could ever sell them for.
XXXThe fame hasn't only brought positive attention. The skills of Chasseur de tresor became nothing to bat an eye at, and many people weren't happy with them. Arls and high standing nobility were angered that the hunters were 'pillaging' rare treasures that were taken from lands their families had claim too and sought for justice to be brought to the hunters who did their business without proper paperwork or government backing.
XXXSome want their heads, others want their skills. Either way, everyone knows of Chasseur de tresor.

D W A R F : Strong, stocky, and shorter than any other humanoid race, the dwarves are skilled builders and boast a long tradition of courage and martial skill that has served them well in their millennia-long battle against the darkspawn.

Unlike elves and humans, dwarves do not naturally enter the Fade, as they do not dream and lack magical ability. However, they are not completely barred and may enter it in exceptional circumstances. This is reflected in their resistance to magic, and accounts for their high tolerance to lyrium exposure.

A unique dwarven ability is "Stone sense", a talent for subterranean navigation derived from the race's progenitor, the Stone. Stone sense is described as the ability to hear the distant song of lyrium. This connection allows dwarves to sense a passageway before reaching it and can navigate the Deep Roads without getting hopelessly lost. However in the games, this talent is not implemented neither as a game mechanic nor as a plot device. The stone sense of dwarves as well as their magic resistance is slowly lost the longer they are on the surface.

H U M A N : Humans are the most numerous, yet also the most contentious of all the races of Thedas. They have only been untied as a race four times in their existence. They have feuded amounts themselves for centuries now, and have fractured their species using methods and concepts like religion and entitlement. It is believed the humans of the Tevinter Imperium known as Magisters opened the gates to a Golden City and uprooted the Old Gods and were the ones that created the Dark Spawn and the first Blight.

On top of this, the Tevinter Imperium is also said to be the group that eradicated the Elven Kingdom of Elvhenan and enslaved the remaining.

Humans rules most of the surface world of Thedas in three main countries as follows: Tevinter, Orlais, and Fereldan. A majority of the storyline will take place in the human empire and therefore humans will be the most prevalent force as both playable and non-playable characters. Humans also make up 95% of government officials, nobility and all of Royalty.

ImageImage
Q U N A R I : Qunari are taller and considered to be more physically robust than humans. They have skin of varying metallic colors (such as gold, bronze, and silver), white hair, pointed ears, and vivid eyes with colors like violet, red, silver, or yellow. Most Qunari have horns, the horn itself has no nerve endings and can be painlessly removed much like human nails or hair, they can still become irritated however so they have several types of balms. But once a horn is cut off, it will not grow back.

The Qunari are governed by the Qun, a strict code of law and government where citizens have no free will, but the Funari view those who do not live by this standard are barbaric or uncivilized. Those not born of the Qun are not to be described as Qunari. They are Vashoth, "grey ones"; likewise those who abandon the Qun willinglly are known as Tal-Vashoth, "true grey ones". Most Tal-Vashoth are former soldiers and become mercenaries.

Members of any other race who adheres to the teachings of the Qun (humans, elves and even dwarves) are called Viddathari. Humans of Rivain and elven slaves of Tevinter are especially susceptible to conversion, although it is not unknown for members of other groups to embrace the Qun.

ImageImage
E L F : Long ago, the elves were the dominant race on Thedas, and their advanced civilization was based on nature and magic. After the fall of their great city of Arlathan to the Tevinter Imperium and the subsequent generations of slavery, the elves lost most of their cultural heritage and identity. They attempted to rebuild their society in the Dales, but after four centuries they fell to the Chantry's Exalted Marches. Since then, their few numbers have been scattered all over Thedas in either forests as primitive nomads, the Dalish, or in cities as impoverished outcasts, with little hope of recovery for their culture or their race. Modern humans use the terms "knife ears," "slant-eared" or, less cruelly, "rabbit" or "halla rider."

Once they were an immortal race and "magic came as easily to them as breathing", with some of their spells taking years to cast and echoing for decades in an unending symphony. They lived in harmony with the natural world and worshipped a pantheon of their own gods. Their magic was able to accomplish seemingly impossible feats, such as the creation of the unique, Fade-like world of the "Crossroads."

R O G U E : crafty combatants who succeed in battle by combining speed, subterfuge, and a wide range of abilities to bring their opponents down in unexpected ways, sometimes before the enemy even perceives danger.

Dual Blade - Archer

W A R R I O R : the front-line fighters, the backbone of any party under assault. They are supplemented by powerful special abilities that draw from deep reserves of stamina. They can withstand and deliver a great deal of punishment, and have a strong understanding of tactics.

Two Handed Weapon - Sword and Shield

M A G E : magic is a natural physical phenomenon such as gravity or magnetism. Some people are born with the ability to interact with, control, and shape it. A mage uses magic by tapping into the power of the Fade to essentially question reality, rendering it mutable and able to be reshaped. In order to qualify to be a mage, one must be an elf, a human, or a qunari.

Trees, trees everywhere. That was the most significant thing to be said about their current surroundings. The girl took a step over an unearthed root as they continued their trek, and it had seemed like they had been hiking through the forest for ages. Artimes had heard that the forest had been large, but man had the awful habit of always exaggerating about the massive size of things. Whether it be landmarks, their power or other things their stories never seemed to be true to size. This forest, however; was not the case. In fact, it was possible the stories the leader of Chasseur de tresor had heard may have under estimated the massive size of the place.

They had been trekking the forest for nearly a week now. Nothing seemed to change, trees, more trees, maybe a rock, but beyond the rock there was a tree. The girl had never been more sick of being surrounded by trees, this amount of wilderness was unheard of in other parts of Fereldan. A lot of the country tended to be rocky with foliage, but not dense the way this forest was. It wouldn’t have been as irritating though, if not for the god awful humidity that accompanied them. Artimes had her hair pulled up in a ponytail, but the sweat that slicked her entire body was leaving giant stains along the fabric that pressed against her skin, and even though her armor was light it was doing nothing but making her feel hotter and sweatier than she already was.

Artimes paused for a moment, leaning against a tree, because they were not in short supply, and she slung the pack she was carrying off her back to produce a map of the area. The ruins they were in search for should have been somewhere near their current position, the compass that she kept attached to a cord around her neck had never led her astray before. On the map of the Brecilian Forest was a black X marked in nearly the center of the forest, there destination for the particular job at hand. Well, she wasn’t the best at determining direction, her strength mostly lied in winning people over and fighting, she left a lot of the boring stuff to Elaris on their trips. But even she knew that they should have been able to have the ruins in their sights by now. Unless what they were chasing didn’t exist in the first place, that had happened once or twice. Getting sent by a noble who was confident the stories their nannies told them as a child were the real deal only to lead the group to an empty field or a cliff side to no where.

She wiped her forehead with the back of her hand, looking to her teammates as she refolded the map and placed it back in the pack. “Alright kids, look alive, these ruins should be around here if they exist.”

She threw the pack back over her shoulders and began moving forward again. Chasseur de tresor was made up of capable people, if the ruins did exist she knew that they would be able to find it without fail. Elaris and Fer were both elves, and according to the information they received this place was ripe with elfish things, the ruins they were looking for were elven, and if there was one thing that motivated Elaris, it was elf history. She doubted he wouldn’t stop looking until they had tried every way possible to locate the ruins. Daven, who was not an elf, probably wouldn’t stop either, but that was because he was more stubborn than motivated by finding elf history.

She took another step over a tree root, but this time misjudged its height and the girl’s toe caught the root sending her toppling forward. As she fell though, an odd looking stone outcrop caught her eye. The trees had previously blocked her view of it, but from the ground it was clear as day. When Artimes hit the ground she was already moving towards the unusual landscape. There was a small pillar on the outcrop, it was craved to have four distinct sides and was covered in what she recognized as the ancient elven scripts that El was constantly studying. She turned to wave frantically at the group, motioning to the pillar. “Look! Elf stuff! The temple we’re looking for has got to be close!”

She couldn’t read elven, at all, nor did she ever want to learn, but with Elaris and Feredir translating the small pillar could lead to a clue to the location of the ruins. She squatted to look closer at the carved symbols, her fingers tracing over the stone. The stone was icy cold, and a drastic change from the hot and sweltering air around them, and she wondered what was making it so cold. Perhaps the answer would be in the inscription of the stone. She took her hand away from the stone and stood, looking around the area for any sign of a temple, but the forest was still too dense to see a far distance. She turned to Feredir, the elf was Dalish and had spent nearly his whole life living in nature and the trees.

“Fer, can you check the surroundings from the treetops? Any sign of a manmade structure would be nice. El you can read this right? Can you see if it has any clues to point us in the right direction? Dav, let’s go scout the surrounding area for any more elf stuff.” She motioned for the warrior to follow her as she began trekking down the slight slope to the right of the outcrop. Hopefully there would be more signs of the ancient elves that used to live in the forest, or better yet, a path to the ruin they were searching for.

This forest was a strange thing to say the least. He could feel the age in the air around them, pressing inwards like the trees themselves were alive and watching them. Perhaps they were, if the legends were to be true. Though undoubtedly rare, the possessed tree, or Sylvans as they were more commonly known were fascinating to him. He had to wonder what would cause a spirit to wish to take over the body of a tree? Without first locating one willing to diverge to him its secrets the mysterious nature of these beings would have to remain just that. A mystery.

It was not without its benefits though, this long trek. He had been allowed a great opportunity for learning here. Even though they were moving far with every passing day, the nights in the ancient forest allowed him to encounter new places in the Fade, all new spirits he had never met before in all his nightly journeys greeted him openly in this strange place. He had to wonder how those disconnected from the true awareness of the Fade and the beings within it were able to function, it seemed like such a cold and empty existence to him. Though he was well aware that as a people, the remaining Dalish were distrustful of spirits in general, some going out of their way to avoid all magic concerning them, he found them to be all to pleasant company. They were simple things, entirely devoted to their nature and unable to change themselves, some would view it as a lack of personality or ambition, but to Elaris it was the simplest form of expression oneself, to be utterly devoted to one lone aspect at the cost of all others.

And yet the further in they traveled, the fewer spirits he encountered, the more disjointed the isles in the Fade would become, resulting in him oftentimes having to forge his own path to travel onward in his wanderings. Perhaps it was the presence of so many Elven ruins in the area that drove the spirits away, they might find the ancient Elves as distasteful as the Elves found spirits. Yet that didn't explain why there would be so open towards himself, unless they had purged that part of themselves long ago.

It was a rather refreshing place all in all as far as he was concerned. It had a feeling of rightness about it, as though this is where a true Elf should belong, deep in the heart of nature, away from the destruction of degradation that humanity brought down upon the world. He had at times wondered what it must have been like all those years ago before mankind was spawn into the world from wherever they had come from, it must surely have been a wonderful world for the immortal Elves. Now only the dim echos of the lost world remained, and here they were, pillaging the pieces. At least they did some good to keep the memories hidden within safe.

"Alright kids, look alive, these ruins should be around here if they exist." Of course Artemis would be the one to remind them to keep looking, whilst remaining doubtful. He had never encountered a human quite like her in all his life, to be so experienced in the finding of ruins yet to be so cynical of their whereabouts could only confuse him of her nature. He didn't however feel the need to point out they had been going in the right direction, or so the spirits had informed him. Though he was fairly certain that they were beginning to go around in circles at this point.

He was fairly surprised when Artemis managed to trip over something, usually she had the sense to step over things before she encountered the ground the hard way. But he was more surprised when she suddenly bolted up and ran into the undergrowth, forcing him to give chase after her, else he would end up losing her in the forest. He was this time pleasantly surprised to see a clearly artificial slab on stone in the middle of the forest, evidently a sign they were looking for.

He hurried over to it, just a few steps behind Artemis. He could hardly contain his excitement at this find, even though it was only a pillar and a small one at that. It was the inscriptions that truly caught his eye, it would take a moment for him to decipher their meanings and context. It was one of the greatest parts of trying to understand the ancient Elvish script was the fact you also had to try to decipher what they were written about as well as what they were saying, and not to mention that one could change the other. Quickly the outside world fell away as he devoted his attention to the rock before him.

The glyphs on the pillar were small, which was strange considering entire poems could be written on a singular glyph. It was possible that this was a number of clues to figuring out the true purpose of the stone itself, though he had never encountered this to be the case before. Circling around the pillar, trying to read the swirling characters in every different direction, as they did not always run right to left as the human script did. Yet this proved just as frustrating. Sometimes some sounds would fit together into a correct sequence of words, but then it would swiftly turn into gibberish. He took a step back, deep in thought of what exactly the puzzle here was, it was clear he was missing something. Perhaps it was the stone itself, it felt unusually cold to the touch. as if it were crafted out of snow-touched marble. And there was something else, a strange feeling that didn't quite feel right to him.

It took another few minutes of him trying to piece the fragments together, pacing around the pillar as he searched for whatever he was missing, when the realisation of why he felt so uneasy clicked into the place. This area was very heavy with the feeling of the Veil, it explained why the Spirits ignored this place, because for them the world felt as dull and mutilated as the Fade did for him. It was the stone itself that was causing this feeling, it was acting as an anchor for the Veil to hold onto the world, making it worryingly strong here. And yet there were parts of the stone that felt... Out of touch. As though they had been enchanted differently from the majority of the stone around it. He ran his fingers across the smooth stone and was pleased to find that some segments of different glyphs were colder than the rest of the stone they were carved into. It wasn't that the glyphs themselves made up the last piece of the puzzle, but rather it was fragmented and hidden inside the mixtures of unrelated sounds, that was why they had made no sense when read conventionally. It took him a few minutes to locate which sections were parts of the fragmented glyph and a few minutes more of rolling it around in his head before it suddenly clicked into place. It was the last section of a long hidden map to tell those clever enough to discover the clues what to look for to find the ancient temple. Elated he stepped back and announced his findings to the group.

"It would appear I have deduced the location of the temples entra...." It was then he looked around and saw he was alone at the pillar. As he had been engrossed studying the pillar the others had vanished off into the forest, presumably to try to locate the entrance under their own skills. He was at a loss at what to do, right now it seemed the best cause of action was to wait here for the time being. If the others did not return he could head off to the temples entrance, now he knew the right way he was confident he could make his way inside.

Val Royeaux was a dangerous place. That much he was sure. Although familiar with the habits of the Orlaisian nobility the city never failed to keep Augustin on edge. The Game was something he had been versed in since he was a child, being of wealthy blood made sure that you knew the ins and outs of this lifestyle, and it was because of that knowledge he couldn’t relax. When he had been younger Augustin had never been an avid player, he had lived honestly, and never expected the ill will of the Game to be turned on him. He had trouble now every time he came to the city, no one seemed trustworthy, every glance seemed laced with ulterior motive.

Augustin always felt eyes on him when he visited the city, as he was a topic of hot gossip. He was The Loyal Dog, or was it Lap Dog, probably both actually. His story was something the wealthy here loved to talk about. The perfect subordinate, a drop-everything-at-a-moments-notice type of servant, a man who’d do anything without question. He was desired by a lot, ‘assassination’ attempts had become the appetizer to the brunches he was invited too, bribes constantly attached to warm worded conversations. It was more tiring than concerning at this point.

He wasn’t currently in Val Royeaux of his own free will though, if it was up to him he’d spend none of his time in the city, he was here on orders from The Duke. The noble man had taken a sudden interest in the group of thugs that called themselves Chasseur de tresor. He didn’t know too many of the details, but many of the rumors that swirled around them were that the individual members were incredibly strong. Over the past years The Duke had been trying to grow his military strength, expand upon his assets, and over all become a force to be reckoned with. Many rumors swirled around him, and in the past few months even whispers of the man attempting a Coup and taking the throne for himself. August had a hard time believing it himself, he had known The Duke for a long time and he had never been this power hungry or aggressive before. The man had to believe that there was a reason behind his actions, that something important was happening, and he couldn’t let Gus know as it might put the both of them in danger.

He had many theories about the man’s change in behavior, they made the tasks asked of him a little more bearable. He was on a different assignment at the moment though, a lot of the tasks asked of him were usually raiding places or killing people, and this was actually a breath of fresh air. August was supposed to be gathering information on the group, The Duke had specifically asked him to get close to one woman in particular. Her name was Reyna Theirin and she was rumored to be close with the group. He had never actually been a spy before, if this could even be called that, but it was still a drastic change from what The Duke generally asked of him. It had taken awhile to arrange the patio lunch with the girl, she was a hard person to get in contact with, and he had no idea how he’d win her favor, but since it was asked of him he’d do his best to succeed.

The white haired man was heading over the the reserved café at the moment, the entire outer terrace had been reserved for them so that they would be dining alone, any means necessary, was what The Duke had told him. He was certain he was able to succeed.

August arrived at their meeting place a half hour before they were scheduled to meet and the hostess guided him to reserved area without delay. His white hair was slicked back with wax instead of the unruly mess he generally left it in, and he was wearing his military uniform. It was sharply pressed and decorated with the various medals he had been adorned with over the years of his service. At his side was a single sword, one given to him by his father, and as he sat the sword clanked loudly against the metal wire chairs.

The man leaned back and propped his right leg up so his ankle rested against the top of his left knee and folded his hands in his lap. The terrace was beautifully laid out, the floral arrangements included red fanal and blue juniper that complimented each other just enough to make the colors pop side by side. There was also lavender placed periodically throughout the area that gave the environment a gentle pastel color and a pleasant smell. The café must had hired a skilled gardener to decorate as the plant life was expertly placed and arranged.

The man tore his eyes away from the foliage and let his head loll backwards. He had no idea how he could possibly coax the girl into trusting him with secrets of Chasseur de tresor, especially with his reputation. He didn’t know if he’d say something insulting or offend her by carrying an expression that was just slightly insincere. August had always lived honestly, he never tried to deceive others and had little confidence that he could succeed in pretending to be this girl’s friend.

Maybe he’d actually be her friend, that was always a possibility. It wasn’t like he was tasked to kill the diplomat, on the contrary he wanted her to trust him. Becoming genuine friends seemed the best route to him.

Val Royeaux, the city of intrigue. Trace smiled warmly at a passing child as she made her way through the city streets. To her left, and leading the group, was The Duke. Her Duke. He was in his late forties, his chestnut hair giving way to strands of grey, and he sported a well-groomed beard and mustache. His clothing was impeccable, as always, and on his hip he wore an ornate sword. His four guards walked alongside them on all sides, and the crowds of citizens parted to make way for the party.

They were headed to the market, to visit the various shops and boutiques that more than occasionally had items of interest for sale. Above them, crimson banners hung from ivory towers and tall, sunbathed walls. Everything was bright and pristine and adorned with flowers and flowing tapestry. It was a far cry from home for Trace. Though grand, Val Royeaux paled in comparison to Minrathous, with its shattered towers held upright by powerful magic, and its walls patrolled by towering golems. Where Val Royeaux was flowing and beautiful, Minrathous was stark and imposing. The soft features around her almost made her uneasy, knowing that they concealed the ugly, underhanded face of The Game. At least in Minrathous, one knew what to expect. Here, betrayal hid behind smiling faces.

Despite her distaste for the pageantry, Trace knew it was important. Playing the Game was her test, and when she passed and returned to Minrathous, she'd be named a Magister's heir. She had learned much on her journey, and although she appreciated her master giving her the opportunity to learn so much first hand, she was also glad it was nearly over. Once she had the infamous treasure hunters in her pocket, she would make her leave and return home with all the wealth and power and experience one could ever want and take her rightful place as Prall's heir.

Although she's never loved anyone, even her own family, if she ever did it would be Vellius Prall. The Magister had always treated her with respect, though she suspected it was mostly due to her magical ability rather than an innate kindness. Still, it meant a lot to her, considering her own family only valued her because she advanced their social position. Once she was a Magister, she could be rid of them entirely. The thought brought a small smirk to her face.

Somewhere in the city, The Duke's lap dog was hunting for information on Chasseur de tresor. That man amused her. He followed the Duke's orders without question, even when they were horrific and cruel. Trace didn't even need to use blood magic to make him obey. She took pleasure in making him do increasingly immoral tasks and watching him grudgingly obey. She knew he hated it, and his discomfort gave her no small amount of pleasure.

At last, the group entered the market proper. There was one shop that was of interest to Trace, and she directed the group there. Tomes upon tomes were stacked against the walls on dusty shelves, and the elderly shopkeeper greeted them as they entered. The Duke offered no pleasantries, and merely looked on as Trace browsed silently. After a moment she approached the shopkeeper with a smile, and spoke in a quiet, polite tone.

"I'm looking for A Chant for Dreamers, by Magister Oratius. Do you have a copy?"
The shopkeeper seemed a bit surprised. Old Tevinter poetry was hardly sought after in Orlais, where most people wanted stories of romance or adventure.

"I will check right now, my lady, if you don't mind waiting a moment."

"Of course, we are in no hurry."

The shopkeeper hurried back to her desk and rummaged through some papers, likely a list of inventory. After a moment she stood and walked briskly to a back corner and retrieved a single book with a worn cover. She returned to Trace and handed her the book.
"Excellent!" Trace smiled warmly and turned to the Duke. "Time to pay the kind lady, my lord." The duke nodded and ordered one of the guards to complete the deal with the shopkeeper while Trace returned to his side. "You look tired, my lord. Let's retire to your manor in the city and await Ser Augustine." The Duke nodded once more and motioned for his men to move out.

It seems as though this group that Devan was talking about in his letters has caught quite a lot of attention of the Court even Celene is interested... She traced her fingers along the crisp paper in her hands, she couldn't help but chuckle at the prospect of being affiliated with such a notorious group. "The Diplomat" she recited to herself before she let go of the paper into the lit iron brazier next to her desk. Her blue eyes glinting in the flames, watching as the parchment burns into ash, almost as if the letter never existed. Devan had asked this of her, he said that he didn't want her to be linked to them is things ever turn sour. What he doesn't know is that Reyna is stronger than she looks; she was able to master the Grand Game in her youth even when she was constantly under threat as a Fereldan Royal, so she remains.

Sitting in her quarters in the Imperial palace, Reyna lent back into the cushioned chair as she soaked in the radiant sunlight. It defiantly washed over her plush and decorative room as if they peeked through the wispy silk curtains that cover the archway to her balcony high up in the palace. Rey took a deep breath and stood up from her chair before she replaced it in front of the desk. As she adjusted her dress, she knew that this design was going to be accepted by Celene as she consistently asked Reyna for her sketches and drafts on knew fashion in this new age. The fake, scented roses both smelt nice and looked nice against her porcelain skin, with her hair pinned up in an elaborate braid that had been done by her Elven servants who enjoy the company of the princess as she is known in the alienage of Val Royeaux.

She walked out of her room, which was flanked by two everite-plated chevaliers both towered over Reyna which isn't really a hard achievement given her small stature, "Do you require an escort my lady?" asked the chevalier on the left of her. He spoke in a heavy Orlesian accent, Rey looked up to the man and saw the golden mask as he looked down on her, "No, I think it will be quite alright. I am only going out momentarily." she finished with a genuine smile, which caused the man to flinch and fluster out an acknowledgement. She giggled as she walked down the massive ornate hallways of the Imperial Palace, a certain aura of purity circulating around her.

This meeting between her and this Augustin Lafyette was a strange occurrence for her, he was called the name Lap Dog by many noblewomen, even Celene had gossip over this man. What would this person want with her? She had only agreed to the meeting out of pure interest but she kept its existence private from others, she doesn't want to be tied in with the rumors.

A renowned café near the core of Val Royeaux is where the setting was arranged. Reyna had heard of this place but had never been, not until now. As she walked into the view of the hostess she almost squealed with excitement, well, she did, and everyone turned around looked at Reyna with utter interest. "Princess, you are exactly on time for your engagement." the hostess flustered as she walked over with all the dignity she could muster, bowing her head before indicating to the marble archway on the side of the café, "If you would kindly follow me I will take you to the terrace." Reyna smiled and followed the hostess through, her porcelain skin shining under the sun as she walked.

As they came into the terrace there was no one to be seen, empty tables and empty chairs sitting in the frame of elaborate and colorful hedges and flowers, giving privacy from the city outside. Reyna looked to the middle of the terrace only to see a man looking her way. She had to stifle back a gasp when their eyes locked, his white hair glistening in the sun along with the rest of his being. She looked away, instantly blushing at how attractive this man is, where she has never given a second thought to those of the opposite sex, other than diplomatic or due to the Game. The hostess, who observed the exchange between the two had to stifle back another squeal, instead she pulled out the chair opposite the man for Reyna. Smiling at the woman and sitting down, Reyna continued to avoid the mans gaze. Regain your composure, never give an opening, this is nothing Reyna. "I will be back soon with your food, excuse me," the hostess left as quickly as possible, dissapearing back through the archway. She relaxed a bit, before employing her tact. Crossing her legs under her chair and cupping her hands into her lap she decided to start this engagement, "I don't need to bother introducing myself as you would probably know all about me at this point," she locked eyes with him once more, smiling and tilting her head slightly to the side, "So please, indulge me on your identity Monsieur Lafyette."

The walls of oak, the evergreen canopy above that let in the sun's light sporadically leaving patterns upon the skin, the soft grass beneath their feet, Feredir loved it all. This was how one was supposed to live; out in the wild and untamed. It was quiet of voices but there were societies thriving here. Mostly colonies of insects but every once in a while they happened upon animals that darted away from them upon realizing they had ventured too close to the group. There was just such beauty and life here that a city made by humans could never accomplish regardless of the multitude of bodies and the fancy objects they used to adorn everything. Human cities were made of dead wood or stones that didn't carry the same song and vitality of the open nature. They walled themselves up in tombs and called it home. It was dreary and closed off. Feredir was certain that if he tried to live in a regular human city, he'd kill himself from the sheer magnitude of loss. He couldn't understand how the city elves were able to suppress their natures enough to endure it.

The young elf extend a hand and let his long elegant fingers caress the bark of the trees he passed by as he followed Artemis and Elaris. They always took up the front and he the rear with Daven in the middle or beside him. It was just the way of the things. He preferred distance and his ears could help with detecting anything that may come up behind him and if something did rush them, Daven could help him get distance before he loosed his arrows on whatever dared interfere with his troupe. It just worked. Ah, that was an interesting though. Who would have thought that he would let his life rest in the hands of a human companion? His family would be flabbergasted if they knew!

Though Feredir loved trekking through the wilderness, he was more eager to find their prize than anything. It was Elvish history they were after! The prospect made his body shiver in anticipation, an army of ants crawling his skin. He had learned so much by traveling around with Chasseur de tresor. His elders would be so proud that he was part of what helped to gather up their heritage. This information would be passed down to all the Dalish clans so they to could learn and keep the customs thriving. He couldn't always help with deciphering it, but that was Elaris's specialty and he loved to pester the older elf into teaching more and telling him everything he had read and discovered. No one could say Feredir wasn't an eager student.

“Alright kids, look alive, these ruins should be around here if they exist.” Feredir's delicately pointed ears wiggled when he heard Artemis's call out to them and a grin played on his lips. They were so much closer to finding the artifacts! His grey eyes narrowed as he started to scan the trees and the ground as they continued walking. He pushed his silvery bangs behind his ears though that proved useless as the strands fell forward again. He was about to pick up the pace and start scanning the surrounding areas when he picked up the sound of Artemis's tumble and looked over at her.

“Look! Elf stuff! The temple we’re looking for has got to be close!”

Feredir gasped and rushed to her side. A sparkle entered his eyes then and his lips broke into grin. "Beautiful. It is a good thing you fell for it," he answered. At the woman's instructions, he gave a nod and a salute. "I am on it!" he called and rushed to one of the trees closest and practically ran up the thick bark. He was quick and nimble. Climbing trees had always been something he excelled at thanks to how he lived and his archery training. Feredir got to the top of the tree with little effort and leaned back to settle his position and squinted his eyes. Now some of the trees and its foliage were getting in the way. They covered up angles that he couldn't see. Feredir found that he had to traverse between the trees to ensure he got every nook and cranny of the floor.

The Dalish elf had to travel a bit of distance before something caught his attention. He dropped to the ground and walked over to the glint of something in the ground and squatted beside it. He dug at the dirt with his hand and around the round object. When he uncovered most of it, his eyes widened. A foci! The entrance had to be somewhere around here for sure. He stood then and placed his thumb and middle finger in his mouth and whistled for his companions to come and check out the site. Maybe Elaris found something to!

Daven stepped up onto a fallen tree and over it, his armor clattering and banging as the man moved. He stepped off the log and landed snapping the branches and twigs beneath his boots. The Chevalier wore most of his armor, except for those on his forearms and legs, forgoing them for light leather clothes. He stayed ever vigilant his eyes ever looking and searching for the next danger lurking in the these wood, it wasn't really needed as most likely Feredir would hear the threat coming first before he would, he took solace in that fact.

He took the moment of reprieve to take off his helm as Art took out her map, he hoped to god this wasn't one of those bulls**t jobs again, as he ran his hand through his hair before deciding to hang the helm on his hip and dropped his sack of supplies onto the forest floor. "I hope once we're done this job I won't have to see another damn forest for another month." he spoke under his breath as he pulled out a small piece of Druffalo jerky from his sack on his hip and began to eat it. He wasn't sure if he just hated this peaceful, humid forest or he missed the beauty and grandness of Val Royeaux as he took another bite of the jerky.

“Alright kids, look alive, these ruins should be around here if they exist.” Art folded the map back up, stashing it away in her bag and glanced at the group before she began to move again.

He chuckled to himself as Artemis than continued to proceed onward tell she misjudged her next step. His initial worry was for Art as he quickened his pace, yet she sprung right back up, letting Daven breath a sigh of relief as slowed down and followed the rest of the group hanging to the back and watching the rear.

It had been a couple years since that fateful party in Val Royeaux, that night changed his life when he saved Artemis from her would be assassins. Now years later here he was a member of the infamous Chasseur de tresor, now they were as much of his family to him as his own blood family. Artemis, Elaris even that bloody Feredir, a chuckle escaped his lips at that last bit, yet he'd lay down his life to protect each one of them. He smiled to himself as he came closer to where Artemis was standing as she was inspecting the Elvish Pillar.

"Dav, let’s go scout the surrounding area for any more elf stuff.” As soon as she spoke his name the Chevalier grabbed his helm from his hip and secured the leather strap before he drew his war hammer from its holster and he retrieved his shield from his back spinning it in his hands before gripping the handle tightly as he took up his position beside Artemis, "On you Arti, I got your back."

He wasn’t positive, but it felt like people were talking about him. August was sitting still, his eyes and head only tilting slightly as he scanned the terrace and strained to hear the slight whispers that kept whisking around him. He was used to being whispered about, but that didn’t stop the curiosity that bloomed in his chest at the slight hints of his name being said. The man thought it human nature to want to know what others thought of oneself and he was not an exception to that nature. It was lilt giggling and high pitched squeals of the wait staff and he closed his eyes in resignation. There was no point fighting the attention, and they weren’t actually approaching him so it didn’t make that much of a difference if they weren’t doing any harm.

It wasn’t until the energetic buzz all but stopped did August return his attention to the present. The man angled himself so he had a clear view of the entrance way and watched as a small girl with the oddest silver hair walked onto the patio. The staff member leading her seemed overly enthusiastic about the whole ordeal and looked like she was about to lose it. August returned his gaze to the young woman, and she looked away from him. The hostess escorted the diplomat to the seat across from him and he gave the woman a polite nod before she retreated back into the restaurant. The girl seemed nervous, almost fidgety, and Augustin was unsure about the behavior. He had heard this girl to be a force like no other amongst the nobility of the grand game and he had been excepting her to appear much more confident and imposing than she currently was. As he ran over this in his mind her whole demeanor shifted and it had the man raising an eyebrow in interest. Her switch seemed to flip instantaneously and he felt himself straighten with her demeanor change, she was certainly a player.

“I don't need to bother introducing myself as you would probably know all about me at this point, so please, indulge me on your identity Monsieur Lafyette."
He felt himself smirk, she was interesting. What ever shyness that had overcome her at the start had vanished and was replaced with someone not to be taken lightly. He leaned forward slightly, offering a kind smile and a slight bow of the head, before speaking to her.

“It is a pleasure to meet you Princess. Please, call me August there is no need for such formality here.” He paused only for a moment, deciding on his next moves. Reyna was smart, no doubt she knew of his nature and title, there would be no point in crafting elaborate lies and ploys to win her over. Still though, he needed to play the game, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t do it in a way that made him comfortable. Honesty was not generally a part of playing the game, but it might be able to get the diplomat in front of him to open up. “I was sent by my duke to befriend you, he wishes for stronger ties with Fereldan and you seem the best way to do that. I won’t force you though, I’d rather be friends if we are to spend any sort of time together.”

Artimes made her way quickly down the rocky slope. No doubt Elaris would have the pillar translated with little difficulty, the elf was the most intelligent people she had ever met. She had met a lot of different people over the last couple of years due to Chasseur de tresor, this included well known scholars and well educated noblemen and women, yet none of them held a candle to El. She may have been biased though, best friend bias made Elaris seem way cooler than he probably was, but she was fine with that.

"On you Arti, I got your back."
She turned only slightly to look at Daven and give him a small smile. He was was definitely the strongest of the group, his brute strength added that much more to their power when fighting against monsters and his style of fighting covered a lot of the weakness Arti had because of how she fought. They were a good team, and together they had yet to fail in fighting an enemy. Of course though, that thought could jinx the whole thing. Goodbye life, hello monster belly. Monster belly might not have been a horrible option, it could be a nice place to rest for a bit, warm and damp, kinda like ending your life in perfect symmetry. You start off in a warm and damp cavern and you’re ending in a warm, damp cavern. That was poetic… or something.

She stopped as her feet touched a soft plush of grass and scanned the area. They hadn’t strayed too far from the outcrop, but air was completely different. It was calm, and Artimes could hear the sounds of the forest crescendo in volume the further they strayed from the stone pillar. It was weird, which usually meant some sort of weird curse of magic was keeping the wildlife away from the elven artifacts. It brought a grin to the girl’s face, dangerous magic usually meant dangerous beasts to fight. She turned to Dav and tilted her head to indicate that they were to head back. She doubted anything of value would be around.

“I think we got a big fight coming up, it’s gonna be awesome.” She started back towards the outcrop with a spring in her step and a grin on her lips. The best part about being a treasure hunter was that legendary treasure generally had legendary monsters guarding it. Arti loved getting into fights against bigger and badder things, she wanted to get stronger and the best way to do it was by fighting creatures that were bigger and stronger than she was. As they made their way back the eerie feeling suddenly seemed that much more prevalent. It raised goosebumps on her skin, but that only raised her excitement more.

She carefully scaled the slope that lead back to the outcrop though, the rocks were pretty loose and despite her eagerness to kill some rabid beast injuring herself or Daven could end up being a fatal mistake. She tested her steps carefully, it was a lot harder scaling the slope than it was going down it. It take too long to pull herself back up though, and as she did Elaris came into view looking both confused and hopeful. She hoisted herself all the way up before making her way to him.

“From the look on your face I take it you found something?”

Most recent OOC posts in Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

Yo, the Merc position is reopened again.

Will we ever fill this position, the world may never know.

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

Sorry about the short post, made that on my phone >.<

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

Awesome!I'll have her up today, if nothing comes up.

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

Yeah the merc position is reserved for you now !

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

If no one claims the Mercenary, would it be a possibility for my character to be recruited in this position? If not, best of luck on your search! My character should be up sometime today or very early tomorrow.

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

Alright I got the first post up for Artemis! Chasseur de tresor is free to post at their earliest convenience, as for Team Val Royeaux, I will be doing my first Augustin post later today so do not fret.

The only thing I really want to stress if watching your locations. Since we have two different teams roleplaying keeping the posts organized would be ideal. I personally suggest inside of posting from the posting tab to go to the places tab instead and clicking the location you need to be in. That ensures you won't post to the wrong place.

With that said, I look forward to roleplaying with everyone.

P.S. The Mercenary role has been reopened due to incompletion of the character sheet. If anyone is interested please let me know, if no one is I will be searching for people.

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

That be Major Claw to ye!

But in all seriousness the only one we're really waiting for is The Mercenary. Though right now the character that's been submitted is very barebones and the writer hasn't been on for a few days so I don't know what's going on there.

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

Well what we were trying to do is wait for all of Chasseur de tresor characters to be completed, seeing as there is only one left we may be starting within the next couple days, but I will be discussing it with Claw before I give a definite answer.

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

What is the stage of the Role play Cap'n Uma? Are we bound to set sail on the journey of the LIFETIME? or are we still waiting for more crew to join the fray.

_INTO THE JAWS OF THE BEAST I SAY_

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

I'm sorry to hear that... We appreciate you showing interest in the role-play though, even that means a lot! I hope to hear from you in the future!

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

Hey, I am sorry to say that I can't join this after all. Real life issues came up and I will not be able to join a new roleplay. I will still watch this one, though. I love Dragon Age. :)

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

Right now we have an abundance of people wanting to be mages and very few warriors, or dwarves for that matter.

I'm regards to magic my character is going to be the primary spellcaster for the group, however I am going down the offensive route, with fire and lighting. What I would like is for spellcaster to be decided into offensive and defensive caster, which fits the lore.

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

How many characters are currently submitted / will be submitted? This RP looks very interesting, but seems to be a bit crowded. Also, if the information is known, what are their classes / races? I think if it's not too terribly crowded I'd like to make an OC myself, but I'd rather not make (for example) one of 7 mages whilst there's only 2 rogues, or one of 10 elves while there's only 1 dwarf.

Also, on the topic of a mage, will everyone be limited to a specific strand of magic? For example, one may be healing while another may be element based?

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me as well. I am the co-gm here after all.

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

Hi Pixy!

If you don't have any ideas I have some stuff I've been batting around with mercenary guilds, generals, and some antagonists. If you're interested feel free to PM me. Also, we currently have zero dwarves if that so catches your interest. I know Claw has a Deep Roads plot idea that we want to get too eventually.

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

I, like my buddy Tali, really find this interesting. I've been craving dragon age recently so hopefully there's some good reading : )

I may also be interested in a side character, though I don't have any concrete ideas in mind yet, I will be sure to PM you guys if I think of something.

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

I look forward to seeing her completed !!!

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

SUBMITTED_ my Royal Diplomat. Excited to start.

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

Hey, I was wondering if I could join as a human Circle Mage. He'd be a good Andrastian... Except for the part where he secretly worships Fen'Harel as the Maker-become-elf. Hurrah for pissing off humans and Dalish at the same time. Also, he loves books, magic, treasure-hunting, and invading people's personal space.

He will be best buds with Elaris, I can just tell! :P

Re: Dragon Age: Chasseur de trésor

@ Talisman
That was so incredibly nice of you to say! Claw and I put a lot of effort into creating this plot and all the part going into it! I do hope you will stick around to enjoy it with us!

@Red
I will be done with Artemis within the hour, and Claw is waiting for me to finish so that he can write his history around mine. Sorry for the delay!
