Introduction

You are a Dreamer. There is a place for you. A place where you belong. I'm sure you've felt it, you're different, an outcast. The only place you belong is the world inside your head. What if I told you that world was real? Because it is, it's called the Dream Land. Those dreams you had but can't remember? This is where they go and only a Dreamer can make them. How do you get here you ask? You must be brought here by a dream, a dream so powerful it acts as a portal. Of course, it's much easier to arrive than it is to leave.

My name is Adam, I have lived in the Dream Land for far too long and it has become very lonely. But I have learnt of a way to travel to those of you who have strong dreams and possibly bring you back with me. I need your help, I can't get out of here alone. This place looks like a fantasy when you first arrive, you see when we dream here, anything we want can come true, we can create anything we want, except for living things. But we can't control our nightmares and the longer you stay, the more you have. You have to help me.

In this roleplay you can either be a Dreamer or a Child of the Dream. Dreamers are the children brought from earth by Adam to help him find a way out. A Child of the Dream is someone who lives in the Dream Land, they do not want the Dreamers to leave, either because they want the power to create for themselves or perhaps they are a long lost dream looking for someone to finish or something else.

Dreamers can create any inanimate object, they can only do this when they sleep by "bringing back" said object with them, it must be a relevant object that they focus on in the dream. In nightmares random evil is brought back with the Dreamer trying to, this can be a living thing (not a person must be some kind of monster) and also powerful objects that may backfire later on or have negative effects.

Adam kicked a rock as he walked around in circles in the meadow. It was the only place in this world he could feel at ease anymore. The blonde sighed, his hands in his pockets and leaned backwards to stare at the blazing sun above his head. It was pointless, there was no way anyone who get his message, he had lost track of time years ago, had it been hours since he sent the cry for help or days or years? It had been before he had stopped sleeping he knew that, but how long ago exactly?

The boy sighed again, he could feel the heavy dark circles under his eyes. If there was someone here maybe he wouldn't want to close them so badly. Adam turned towards the dark trees surrounding the meadow. What if someone came, but it wasn't in the meadow? How would he find them? He couldn't wait forever. Actually, he probably could.

Vienna had slept peacefully every night, and woke every morning with no memory of the dreams she had the night before.
Now, she was watching the blond boy from her spot among the trees, curious. She had been afraid to breathe almost, not wanting him to notice her. He was interesting, and so lonely looking.
She felt sorry for him, being so alone like that.
He glanced back towards the trees, and she held her breath, hoping he wouldn't see her hiding. Her dark hair and eyes blended in pretty well, thank goodness for that, but her skin was pale and probably was noticable.
She didn't exactly know why she didn't want to be seen by him; it was uncharacteristic of her. But for now, she just wanted to watch, wait, and listen.

Adam's eyes scanned the forest, something had moved. Just for a second, but it definitely had moved. He held his breath for a moment, for the first time in a long time he realized if something really was there it could be a friend. He sifted from one foot to another debating what he should do, it wouldn't be the first the he might end up talking to himself.

Adam started to hum a tune and walked casually away from the trees towards the center of the meadow. When he got there he sat himself down, crossed his legs and stared directly at the spot where he was sure "it" had moved. He really didn't have anything to lose anymore.

"I know you're there might as well come out."

Vienna blinked, shocked. This boy was perceptive. She was sure she hadn't been that clumsy when she had hidden. Certainly not, he must just be very good at finding.

Vienna came out from behind her tree trunk, looking at the boy in the meadow. She walked towards him, unsure of herself, her steps light and nervous.

"Hello, um, I'm sorry for invading your meadow. I'm not even sure how I got here, so if I need to leave, just tell me." Vienna saw that he looked to be about 16, around the age of herself. She gave him a smile, and then her eyes widened. I just spoke. I. Just. Spoke.

Adam's eyes widened as the girl walked towards him, he hadn't actually expected someone to be there. At least not anyone human. He quickly stood up, almost falling over his own feet when he did. He hadn't interacted with another person for a long time and was mentally hitting himself for not practicing this in his spare time.

"No, no!" Adam said a little louder than he needed to. He mentally hit himself again and stuck his hand out.

"I'm Adam, sorry if I sounded rude or anything, I don't get good company often." He chuckled softly. Often, a better word would've been ever.

Good company. Hehe. "Oh, it's fine. I understand. My name is Vienna." She paused, taking in her surroundings once again. "Could you explain, maybe, where I am? I'm lost." Vienna looked around some more, unsure of how she had got here. Adam seemed like a nice guy, he would help her get home..probably.

She didn't understand this; there was something strange about this place, something unearthly. And Adam, he acted as if he hadn't seen another person in centuries.

Perhaps that was an exagerration, but still. She gave him her warmest smile, genuinely happy to see him. She shook his hand, blushing a little. "I must sound really dumb. I don't even remember how I got here."

Adam smiled back as she shook his hand, confirming she really was real. His smile faded as he realized how insane his answer was going to be. She wouldn't possibly believe him and he wasn't even sure if he could explain it.

"I wouldn't expect you to, Vienna." Adam laughed nervously and scratched the back of his head. How to put this gently.

"You see, you're in the Dream Land, I brought you here. At least I think I did, not that that really matters." He bit his lip, maybe he shouldn't have mentioned the fact that he may be the reason for her coming here. "Either way, I'm really glad you're here, I've been so lonely. Um, anyways, this place is magic. See here all our dreams can come true. And unfortunately, we can't leave. Well at least I couldn't but now you're here so maybe there's hope."

He looked up at her nervously, biting his lip. She looked pretty lost. "I'm sure that sounds crazy and I'm not the best at explaining things and unfortunately I can't prove it because of the nightmares..." He looked down at his shoes. I think I might have given her too much information to process...

Vienna blinked, a bit stunned. "So, I'm in a magical place where dreams come true, potentially trapped here forever. You somehow brought me here, and I might be able to free us. And then something about nightmares."

She looked at him closely, wondering if maybe he was crazy. He seemed calm, and sane, but you could never tell for sure. Is he for real? I don't know about this.. It would explain why she couldn't remember how she got here, or even where here was, but it was a little far-fetched for her taste.

He looked down, and Vienna paused, thinking. Maybe, just maybe, she should humor him. "Okay, well, what are nightmares first of all?"

She couldn't possibly believe him, but at least she wasn't running away yet. He kept looking down at his shoes, why'd she have to ask about nightmares though.

"You see, the nightmares, they're bad dreams and when we dream here they really do come true, well parts of them. In normal dreams I noticed I bring back stuff, like books or weapons. But in the nightmares you can't predict anything and sometimes monsters come out. When I first got here everything was fine and I had great dreams, dreams I could actually remember. Than the nightmares started and they got worse." He laughed bitterly. "I haven't slept for a very long time."

He paused to look up at her, vaguely wondering if she thought he was insane or could see the bags under his eyes.

"You don't believe me right now, but wait until night comes. Than you'll see..." He spoke softly, his voice fading as he did. A small part of his brain was screaming at him not to zone out again, but he new he couldn't control it. Dang, now she really was going to think he was crazy.

She watched him. It seemed as though his eyes were empty. She waved her hand in front of his face. "Hello?! Adam?"

She waited a few moments, and he still didn't reply. "Are you, um, okay in there?" She was worried now, he was the only one who seemed to know what was going on. She didn't see any other people around, either. Adam really was her only hope of an explanation.

While he was just standing there blankly, she noticed how tired he looked. Maybe he was just a bit sleep-deprived, not insane. "Hello?" she asked again, nervous now.

He still didn't respond, and she sighed, sitting down next to his feet. So, this is the Dream Land? For some reason, I would've imagined this place to be stranger than this. She closed her eyes, smiling a little. Regardless of how weird this was, the meadow was pretty and warm. And she could speak.

This place made her happy, she realized. But what did he mean about waiting until nighttime?

Dawn just stood there not sure where she was. She thought where ever she was, was beautiful. She looked at the sky. The shining stars were so beautiful. Dawn had no idea where she was, but she didn't care. She liked it already. Dawn heard noises in the distance. She wasn't sure whether or not to go over and see what it was. Dawn walked over to where she heard the noise staying quiet.
