Description: Zephyr is very confident and borderline arrogant. With his above average height and impressive muscles, he is a very handsome young man. He lets his hair stay relatively long until it begins completely covering his eyes. Only then will he cut it back just enough to clear his vision. His eyes, a startling ruby color, are very unusual for one of the Maelstrom line, and as such, as been the cause of many rumors across the town. However, due to his Aeromancer abilities and his family's political status, no one dares openly comment on his mixed heritage.
Preferred Clothing: Zephyr typically wears dark tunics and pants with boots. He'll sport a hooded cloak on colder days. While traveling and adventuring, he replaces his clothes with lightweight leather armor.
Armor: Zephyr hates feeling weighed down, and as such, prefers to wear leather armor when traveling. He also wears a thick hooded cloak over his armor.

Typhoon Slash: Zephyr has supreme control over his elemental abilities. He is capable of producing powerful gusts of wind which he can direct in any direction.
Cyclone: He can produce a small whirlwind roughly the size of a small shed in a given area.
Storm Ray: A destructive blast of lightning. This is more difficult for him to perform, and his aim isn't very accurate.
Telepathy: Like many Aeromancers, Zephyr is capable of communicating telepathically with others. He can talk one on one with a person, or set up a conversation.
Jutar's Sight: Zephyr has the ability to notice and see things that would normally be invisible to normal people. He does this by concentrating his Manara into eyes. He can only hold this "enhanced" vision for a short period of time.
Gifted Swordsman: He has been training since he began Guardian training and had a natural affinity for it.
Tactician: Zephyr is very clever and is capable of devising well-thought out plans and courses of actions.
Scholar: Due to his family upbringing, he is very knowledgeable on a number of different topics.

Likes: He enjoys the company of pretty girls, exploring new places, a good drink, books, any kind of puzzle, tea, rice dishes, fish, and Cron's mom's baked goodies.
Dislikes: Zephyr hates being told what to do, licorice, winter, being dirty, pork, poison ivy, and snakes.
Hobbies: Exploring, Sparring/Training, Meditation, Puzzles, Flirting, Reading, Learning/Studying (He doesn't openly admit this due to his "reputation".), and Collecting Ancient Treasures (Another secret nerdy pass time.)
Phobia(s): Zephyr is deathly afraid of suffocation.
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Personality: Zephyr, in every sense of the term, is a free spirit. He acts completely on his own whims whenever he can much to the horror of his father and grandfather. He is very carefree and can often be spotted floating about Caelfall flirting with the females and causing minor mischief with anyone and everyone. Despite his whimsical disposition, he makes a surprisingly great leader. His natural charisma and confidence has been drawing others to him since he could walk. However, this often would cause more trouble because he would often lead the other kids on crazy schemes such as breaking into the Clan Council's meeting room or raiding the Gaiamancer's gardens for free snacks. Despite this recklessness, Zephyr is still loyal and protective of his friends often shouldering as much of the blame as possible.
Zephyr has a more serious side as well as much as he tries to deny it. Despite his defiance of his family, he still seemed to inherit his family's affinity for learning. If he finds a book that interests him, he'll disappear for hours and read till he's finished. When he's troubled by something, he'll devout himself to either training or meditation to clear his mind. Then, on rare occasions, Zephyr will show rare displays of anger like a mighty summer storm. These are typically caused by his family or someone harassing one of his friends. Overall, Zephyr is very much like the wind. Light and comforting one moment, dizzying and troublesome the next, and every so often an unstoppable force of nature that ravages everything in his path.
Family Status:
Father: His father is Tehrest Maelstrom and the current head of the family as well as the representative for the Maelstrom's on the council. They have a very... strained relationship. He puts a lot of pressure on Zephyr to take his duty as the next family head seriously while Zephyr defies him and shrugs off his responsibility saying he doesn't really want it.
Mother: His mother died early in his childhood when he was about seven years old. His memories of her are vague, but till this day he still remembers the love that she showered him with.
Grandfather: Zephyr's grandfather is the High Elder, Mavrik Maelstrom. Similar to the relationship between Zeph and his father, his grandpa also applies pressure on him to be more serious with his responsibilities. However, despite his defiance, Mavrik still tends to look the other way at Zephyr's antics despite the number of complaints he gets.
Granny: Galia "Granny" Maelstrom is Zeph's grandmother. Their relationship is very much a love and hate one. She chastises him endlessly for his disrespect of his father and grandfather, but also turns around and encourages him to be free and enjoy his youth.
Personal History: Zephyr was born a love child. Maelstrom clan tradition states that the Heads of the family are to marry only Aeromancer women, so as to ensure that the next heir will be an Aeromancer. Well, Tehrest, Zephyr's father, was very much a wild and untamed young man much like Zephyr is today. He spit on the traditions and eventually fell in love with a young Pyromancer girl. His father, Mavrik, was furious, but it was far too late. The girl was already pregnant. The two were thrown into marriage despite tradition and Mavrik's wishes. Finally, months later, Zephyr was born a male and an Aeromancer. Mavrik, desperately relieved, eventually warmed slightly to the his mother, and tension began to settle.
For the first seven years of his life, Zephyr was showered with love and affection from his mother and father, and not so subtly spoiling him at every turn. Despite the doting, Zephyr was still a positive and sweet child who naturally drew others to himself. It was during these years he met Cron for the first time who quickly became his closest friend and would remain so to this day. Zeph and Cron would drag any other child they could find on what they deemed "Missions" which will undoubtedly end with an annoyed villager and a complaint to the council. Despite the minor scoldings, joy and tranquility abounded within his family.
However, this happiness would not last. Zephyr's mother suddenly came down with a severe case of Manara Atrophy known as Atraxis. She died within the week. Both Zephyr and Tehrest were left utterly heartbroken. Tehrest especially was hit hard by this. His once relaxed and easy-going nature replaced by a harsh bitterness that caused him to drown himself in his work and responsibilities. Gone was the man who once encouraged his son to run wild and live freely, and was replaced by a severe individual who pressured his son to take his life seriously as well. Truth be told, he was worried his son, who was so much like him, would suffer the same fate he had. Of course, this was never said to the young Zephyr. However, Zephyr was already far too set in his ways to be changed now, and thus defied his father on every attempt to control him. Zephyr, who only caused minor mischief with his horde of friends, became even more rowdy sowing havoc on a regular basis. As such, many of the more disapproving locals nicknamed him the Typhoon. All the same, no matter what kind of mess Zephyr and the others found themselves in, Zeph would still loyally stand by his friends and shoulder as much of the blame as possible to avoid getting them into trouble.
When Zephyr turned eleven, he was put into Guardian training much to his displeasure at first. Although, as time wore on, he found himself enjoying the thrill of controlling his abilities and being able to push himself to the brink. Like many of the others of his generation and class, he also was talented in his Mancering being able to perform techniques far earlier than what would have been thought possible for one his age. He poured all his teenage angst into his training and worked very hard to become a formidable Aeromancer. As time wore on, Zephyr grew more and more restless aching to explore the world he had read and studied about. Of course, that was never a possibility for him as a budding Guardian and future family head... But during their graduation from Guardian training yet another idea crossed his mind.
-Cassie was another good friend of Zephyr's who often followed him and Cron on their excursions while dragging a reluctant Pyrrha along. Zeph had been very upset along with everyone else when she died.
-When they were very young, Pyrrha had willingly tagged along with the Zeph and the others on the "Missions", but after her family died, she had closed herself off. Zephyr had tried to get her to participate more, but to no avail. Eventually Cassie was able to convince her to socialize again combined with Zeph's scheming, but after Cassie's death everything went back to square one in their friendship.
-Cron is Zephyr's best friend and the two are always hanging out together. Zeph didn't really care when Cron told him he was gay, but warned him that if he tried anything, he'd cut his fingers off.
