Full name: Kitherine Damacus
Nicknames/Aliases: Kit
Species: Human (mostly).
Gender: Male.
Age: 23
Occupation: Blackguard.
Appearance:
He is a tall and slender man, with a somewhat feminine face framed by gently waving white hair. He has high cheekbones and rather large, long-lashed golden eyes very nearly the color of a wolf’s. He is, in all, a very beautiful person, but there is an unmistakable cruelty to his features – a cold smirk and an intelligent tilt to his thin eyebrows that puts people off. He is remarkably thin, not at all strong, but he is also clever, quick on his feet, and possessed of a lethal second nature.
Personality: Kitherine has never been what might be called… normal. Since he was a small child, people have seen him whispering to himself, conversing with someone else that could not be seen. Back then, it was simply that he and his twin could communicate with one another at a distance. Now, he is essentially two men in a single body. The tightness of two souls being packed into that single-soul space has corrupted both souls in remarkable ways, and their mixed goals have confused them. Though both maintain separate sentience and are capable of thinking on their own, and conversing with one another, no one is entirely sure most of the time
which consciousness originally belonged to the body in which they reside. They consider themselves a single unit now, and have chosen to use the name Kitherine to label that body. They may really be in the body which was originally Kinari, but neither of them can tell for certain. The chaos of having two awarenesses in one mind has caused an odd sort of emotional split in Kitherine – he rarely shows any feeling beyond calm contentment, except sometimes a little bit of sadistic sarcasm, as though he is incapable of choosing an extreme. He is also incapable of choosing a goal for himself. Kitherine, with his two souls, has developed a severe servant complex, and now he is physically incapable of disobeying a direct order, or even an implied one, from the person he calls his master. He needs to be directed to stay alive – without a master to tell him what to do he would not eat, drink, or sleep, and eventually he would simply waste away.
Strengths: Absolute loyalty, complete lack of any sort of fear, lack of emotion (he is nearly impossible to provoke), double-mentality (he figures things out very quickly), high speed
Weaknesses: Absolute loyalty (he can’t so much as feed himself without being ordered to do so), instable mentality (with two minds, either of which may be in control at any given time, it is difficult to tell what he will do or say), lack of physical strength
Equipment: Poisoned shortswords. Flexible armor, strong enough to deflect a knife blow or a weak arrow shot.
Abilities: He climbs like a spider and walks like a cat. He can usually fall without killing himself from very great heights. He is capable of silent kills and lethal blows, though he is no good at real hand-to-hand combat. He is a master of the ambush, and his brother’s soul has gifted him with black magics of stealth and concealment. He is capable of pulling a literal cloak of shadows over himself and hiding in the darkness, among other things.
Brief history: Kitherine was born and grew with an identical twin, by the name of Kinari. The pair of them were very close, practically inseparable, capable of communicating without ever speaking a word aloud (though often they would whisper to each other, when they were children and did not realize they did not have to). They learned together, discovered their passions together, both of them taking a deep interest in the dark arts. They went to school and studied together, taught each other, helped each other graduate. Each of them was the other's greatest focus, his only love in life aside from his skills. Kitherine took up the art of assassination, and Kinari the art of magic. They cared for no one but each other, two halves of one whole. Even when their training separated them physically, they were forever mentally joined, and always seemed to know what the other was doing and how they were feeling.
Two years ago, when the twins were twenty-one, just beginning to dig truly deep into their studies and take on their own missions, Kinari overstepped a boundary he should not have crossed, exploring areas of dark magic which were considered a threat in their very existence. His punishment was the taking of his life. He had time for one last, crucial spell before he was killed - a spell that transported his consciousness across the connection between them, into Kitherine's mind. That is where he has lived for two years since - Kinari is the cause of Kitherine's darkened thoughts, his temper, his irrational anger and intolerance, and also of his inexplicable calm, which is so much more common than his rage. He has infected his twin, constantly whispering in the back of Kitherine's head, and though Kitherine loves him dearly, having Kinari actually in his mind... frightens him. With good reason. He has no idea what Kinari might someday drive him to do.
