Image

Appearance Discription:
Despite her love for the outdoors and being the sunlight, Kaiko has rather creamy, porcelain skin from head to toe. Her soft angled facial features, piercing violet eyes, and equally impaling stare she usually wears, leave a daring first impression, normally one of complete attraction. She is often told that she is the picture perfect figure of her mother, if not a little shorter and a couple decades younger. The wavy, crimson hair was also passed down from her mother's side of the family. She inherited the eyes, however, from her father. She also quite often partakes in physical activities, so she is rather lean and gently muscled. The teen sometimes appears somewhat colder than she actually is due to the glare that more often graces her face. Very few have seen a smile grace those lips, more have seen that mischievous little smirk that forms when something amuses her. Kaiko has a rather simply fashion sense, she is often found outside of school with a plain shirt and jeans.

Image

Personality:

Some may refer to her as "Cold" or even "Harsh", but truly all Kaiko wanted to do was find someone who would accept her for who she was, and not run away the second she showed her chilly, more inverted side. She actually likes and enjoys the company of people who were willing to take the time to pry her open and carefully examine all the layers that were gradually revealed to them. It is difficult sometimes though, most people she befriended gave up sometime along the way, growing tired of the cold shoulder they were always faced with when accompanied with the girl. Which is why, even though people are attracted to her like iron to a magnet thanks to her admirable posture and high status, it is quite a challenge for her to find true friends. For her those two words ("True" and "Friends") were a very foreign concept.

Due to the fact that making friends was hard for her, she tends to be more independent than most teens her age. She cleans up after herself, makes her own food, and takes care of herself in most situations. Her parents even joked that it seemed as though the only reason she even bothered to stay with them is because, well, for one, it wasn't legal for her to move out yet, and two, she needed their financial support. Of course, along with independence comes responsibility. Kaiko is very responsible, even when her parents had to both leave for business trips, they fully entrusted the house to her without hesitation. That may just be due to their rather easily trusting personalities, but it also helps that she is very trust worthy. The teen is also fiercely loyal. Once she commits to something, she commits to it 110% and then some. She is the one who stands strong no matter how hopeless the situation, and is also the friend you can count on to be sprinting across town in the middle of the night for any emergency. Not to mention her dedication once she sets her mind on a certain goal she wants to attain. Due to her parents very successful line in the medical field, she pushes herself to her full potential when it comes to her studies. She is often found reading her science book more often than most, and is actually very interested in all that it has to offer. Most students believe her parents pressure her to do her best, but really it's in her own interest, her parents simply support whatever she decides on doing and are more than happy that it just happens to fall under their profession.

Image

Kaiko is also a great mass of contradictions. No matter how many times she denies it, in contrary to her rather fearless, 'I don't give a damn' attitude, the second she faces a lizard or any other slithering creature she'll flash her true colors and run away before anyone would know what happened. The girl would sooner swim in a tank with sharks, cliff dive into harsh, stormy waters, or sky dive into mountain peaks, before ever going even a foot away from any living land creature she deems "Disgusting" or "A waste of a species". Funnily enough, even though her very red, very noticeable hair color is red, Kaiko likes the color blue much more. She also enjoys competition and accepts any challenge that comes her way, but when she loses, she more than likely sulks for the better half of an hour, not in public of course, she has principals.

Image

Story:
Kaiko was born into a successful medically inclined family. Her father being a cardio surgeon and her mother being a pediatrician, she was given a rather cozy, comfy life. Kaiko also has two older brothers, Takeshi was the eldest and Sentou being the second eldest. Takeshi was currently learning his specialty for surgery which was plastics, and Sentou was currently in medical school, also planning to be a cardio surgeon like their father. The two were viciously protective of their sister when they were little, and as they grew older, the two learned to back off a little more, but were still undeniably close to her. Kaiko was very close to family, and held them close to her heart. Her mother calls her every week when her studies are done and emails her almost every day, her father also adding in small, yet sincere comments in those messages. She very rarely makes contact with her brothers anymore because of their impossibly busy schedules, but they always visit at least once a month no matter what to see their 'Precious little Kai-chan'. They say that if they have to stay away any longer they may suffer from 'Kai-chan withdrawal'.

While her immediate family was very supportive and extremely close, almost suffocatingly so, her grandparents, or more specifically her grandfather, was a completely different story. At age 5, Kaiko was ranked number 2 in her grade, her grandfather merely grunted and said 'Takeshi ranked number 1 by your age'. At age 10, Kaiko won an award in her school for being the most musically gifted on the piano. The old man merely looked away with a rather uninterested look. At age 14, Kaiko was once again ranked 2nd in her grade, so she didn't even bothering checking for his reaction, knowing that it would only bring her down. Somewhere deep down inside, Kaiko knew she just wanted to make him proud somehow, something that would make him acknowledge her as his granddaughter. It was also because of the grandfather's rather disappointed outlook on his granddaughter that made her have a slight inferiority complex. Whenever someone or something does way better than her in some kind of activity she starts to subconsciously slack and fall under the category of just 'Average' than 'Advanced' like she usually does.

Club(s):

Martial Arts Club. Her parents insisted, one of their only requests that she part take in this year. She wasn't exactly happy with the thought of possibly entering a club with, no doubt, rebels, but she learned to enjoy having something in her arsenal if something were to ever try to harm her.

Image

Secrets:

Kaiko took up playing the piano since she was 6. She loves making music more than any other activity, but would rather that this little fact be kept quiet while on school grounds.
Her inferiority complex usually comes off to the other students as 'Kaiko-senpai's too cool to do this' but really, she's just afraid that she won't meet the students the look up to her's expectations. She couldn't bear to think that people would start looking down on her just because she couldn't do one activity and excel to the highest point possible.

Kaiko Ishigawa

"Kaiko-ojousama, it is time for you to get ready for school." The gentle, and ever so dutiful voice of the Ishigawa family's head maid coaxed the slumbering red head awake. Sunlight violated the remaining darkness in the room until the girl attempting to regain the precious minutes of sleep she was so used to getting, had no choice but to flip over and suffocate herself in the plush softness that is her pillow. All the maid received to know that the teen acknowledged her were muffled, incoherent grumbles into the pillow the red head burrowed her head into. Kaiko peaked over at the digital alarm clock on her nightstand and found big bold, mocking numbers that announced it was 6:45. She let out an exaggerated sigh and glanced over at the maid that was patiently standing beside the window she just opened.

"Any chance I can persuade you to give me ten more minutes?" When all she received was a pregnant silence, she knew she got her answer. "Alright, is my uniform ready?"

As if anticipating that the question would arouse, the servant whipped out a brand new, creaseless uniform, in all its frilly glory. Kaiko wanted to roll her eyes at the achingly familiar, yet still painful to look at, design of the dress. At least I can manage the colors, if it was pink, I would rather wear two erasers and a sticky note to school. "Thank you, Rei-san, you can leave it on my loveseat and I'll start getting ready." The head maid nodded, all the while placing the uniform onto the cushions of the loveseat, careful not to crease it, and left the room without another word. When she heard the mahogany double doors shut, Kaiko let out a violent sigh and plunked herself back onto her pillows. Then a muffled voice was heard through her heavy bedroom doors.

"Kaiko-ojousama, Kiseki-sama and Takashi-sama would like me to inform you that Takeshi-sama and Saitou-sama will be calling shortly to greet you before you head off to school." The unmistakable sound of a body hitting the floor was heard through the door before a door, most likely the bathroom door, was heard slammed shut and water started running. In less than five minutes, Kaiko was out the door, fully dressed in her new uniform, though only a little less ruffled than she was a moment ago in bed. "Did you wash your hair, Ojou-sama?" The maid asked, patting down the locks that were slightly sticking out.

"I washed it last night so I wouldn't have to wake up early." Kaiko replied, giving a small smirk at the maid's sudden amusement. "Did they call yet?"

The maid gestured down the spiral staircase with her head. Kaiko followed her direction and sat down on the rail, all to the woman's displeasure, before sliding down. "Please be careful, Kaiko-ojousama."

Landing on her short heeled dress shoes, Kaiko bolted for the dining room, knowing well enough that her parents were most likely there already due to their packed schedules. The second she saw her parents huddled together smiling and sharing laughs with her father's laptop, she knew her brothers were online. She lunged onto her father's back and peaked over his shoulder to see that her premonition was correct. "There's our little Kaiko-chan!" Takeshi greeted with a bright smile. Her two older brothers were huddled close together just as the three on the opposite side of the line. The parents shared a glance and a smile before making a rather obvious excuse and quickly exiting. The sister and brothers spoke animatedly for a while, sharing everything they've done in incredible detail. The siblings haven't communicated in almost three weeks, it was no surprise that they would be this excited to talk again. Sometime later, a pair of footsteps echoed through the entrance area and a man poked his head into the room.

"Kaiko-ojousama, I'm afraid if we take any more time, you will be late for your first day of school." Fujino, the Ishigawa family driver, was reluctant to interrupt the reunion, but it had to be done for the little miss.

"Already?" The disappointment couldn't have been more evident on the red head's voice, but a glance at the clock told her she only had fifteen minutes to get to the school which was ten minutes away. With a heavy heart, she gave her brothers an apologetic smile and shared their farewells.

Fujino and Kaiko drove in the family SUV since the little red head absolutely refused to ride the limousine after the little incident last year that made her appear as though she were some kind of superstar. Never again. With a wave and a 'Thank you' to Fujino, she hopped off of the back seat and onto the sidewalk in front of the school gate. She also noticed quite a few other students entering the building and quietly reminded herself her class. "A, A, A..." She uttered under her breath before silently bracing herself for another year of school. Eyes narrowed and back straight, Kaiko headed towards the main building.

Kaiko Ishigawa

Kaito trekked to the school building and casually started taking her shoes off like the rest of her peers but stopped midway at the announcement. I almost forgot about the welcome ceremony. With a soft sigh at this slight inconvenience, the red head slipped her shoe back on and closed her locker, making her to give the lock a little twist to make sure there was no chance for anyone else to figure out her combo. She walked back out to the courtyard to see two rather familiar faces of her upperclassmen that she recognized from the Martial Arts club from the year before. With teasing, but friendly nudges at each other the two started a sparring match. Kaiko kept a distance, but watched with amusement as the two exchanged punches. Not too long afterwards, their infamous leader joined in. Touya called a break and offered a fair match with his sister, with a nod of confirmation, the sparring match began again. After a few minutes, the group stopped, Kaiko, being rather focused on the match barely noticed the gathering crowd around her, but instead walked away when she saw them start passing out flyers for the club. She already knew she was going to join, so there was no reason to have to stay there.

Kaiko subconsciously made a beeline for the dojo, where her legs were automated to head to every day after school the year before. I guess my brain finally went into school mode again. She went around the all-too-familiar wooden building and found the signup sheets. Kaiko quickly filled it in and noticed that there were plenty others, not only those of veteran members either. Making her way back to the courtyard, she noticed a few others she recognized have shown themselves. Izanagi was familiar to her due to the broadcast club, she was interested at the club at first, but after some thought, she just didn't think making announcements was really worth it. The girl with her was also somewhat familiar to Kaiko. Wasn't she... in the swim team? Kaiko wasn't a bad swimmer, but she wasn't anywhere near the best either. She was a life guard for a year, it was a last minute decision really, having nothing else to do, she say a flyer and decided to try it.

With a few moments of hesitance, Kaiko decided to approach the pair, interested in maybe reconsidering her decisions about the two clubs from last year. Another rather familiar girl, with a head of auburn and a bubbly smile ran up to the two and immediately engaged them in conversation. Kaiko recognized Aya from the power of gossip the year before, not that she participated in those rather degrading activities, but it is kind of hard to mishear a group of girls practically shouting right beside you about something that was supposedly subtle. Once Kaiko stepped into earshot, she heard Aya mention something about the swim team, then her class. A small smirk settled on her face at the familiar class. The red head patiently waited as Taura turned back to Izanagi, before approaching the auburn haired girl.

"I happen to be in your class, Aya-san," Kaiko greeted, hoping she didn't seem to direct to the other girl. "I'm Kaiko Ishigawa," the red head introduced herself, before adding on the polite little , "Please take care of me."

Aya grins when Taura mentions having recruited two new first years for the swim team, because that means that they only need a rather small amount in order to be eligible for the school competitions. Of course, she always prefers there to be even numbers, because Aya likes to have the little individual matches that are possible when using an even number of members. She is about to say something else, but blinks, slightly startled, when Taura blurts something about one of the first years being in her class. "Erm, Taura-san? Didn't you just say that Yamada-san was a first year?" she asks carefully, not wanting to come off as rude or anything. Of course, Aya has never been the best at tact, and thus it very well may come off in that way.

"Anyway, I do know a guy who I may convince to join, but he's a third year and kinda lazy. He's a member of the napping club," Aya responds cheerfully, latching on to a change of subject. The young woman appears to be completely unfazed by the glaring eyes of Taura, having gotten used to her piercing eyes last year. She just takes it as being Taura's natural face, deciding to ignore any possibility of hostility behind the glare. She glances over curiously at Izanagi when he says something, in a bit of a whine, about also having friends. Just because she's asking me doesn't mean that it doesn't apply to you, the young woman thinks to herself, oblivious to the fact that his statement is actually something of a lie. She doesn't know him very well, after all. Just a face that she connects with the broadcasting club, and a name that she connects with a face. It isn't as though she makes it her business to know everyone, after all, though she can at least name most people in her year.

"Actually, do you know if Hiroshi-san plans on joining again this year? His little brother's in my year- maybe we can get him to join in?" Aya muses, although she doesn't know if anyone is still listening to her.

When Taura speaks to Izanagi once more, asking him to tell his friends to join the swim team and promising to do the same for broadcasting, Aya nods. "I'll try and find some people for you as well, okay, Yukimura-san?" she promises, smiling and making the little 'cross your heart' sign across her chest. Aya glances to the side when she notices someone that she knows and begins to wave, before seeing another person approaching her, a familiar face with red hair and a slight smirk. The young woman greets Aya and introduces herself as Kaiko Ishigawa, before politely asking that Aya take care of her.

"Oh, hello! I'm Kanade Aya, but you can call me Aya," the auburn haired girl responds amicably before chuckling lightly, "You already have, after all. It is nice to meet you, Ishigawa-san. I think I've seen you around before- were you in a different class last year? Oh! You should join the swim team with me- or the broadcasting club," she suggests, leaping right in to some sort of acquaintanceship.

Taura Tsukino

Taura let out a soft gasp as Aya carefully asked, "Didn't you just say that Yamada-san was a first year?"

She turned from Izanagi and frowned at Aya as the girl introduced herself to Kaiko Ishigawa, a second year. Taura couldn't stand being corrected, but could see what she just did. Blood filled the woman's cheeks as embarrassment began to creep in. Taura softly slapped herself on the right cheek and shook her head.

The auburn girl told Kaiko to join the swim team or the Broadcasting Club, Taura snapped out of her little disappointed moment and her eyes widened. Not caring about the rudeness that would probably show while interrupting the two girls' introductions, Taura placed herself into the conversation.

"Please do, Ishigawa-san. Please do." As always, Taura's eyes took on their glaring look and they began to pierce into Kaiko's. Taura took a quick glance at Aya to see if she became offended from the sudden statement then quickly turned back to Kaiko. "Well I must go." said Taura simply, and after a strong, intense push of a swim team flyer on the wall, the third year sped off to expressionlessly spread the news of the swim team's recruitment status.

Daichi Ogyu

Daichi walked out of the welcoming ceremony panting. There were so many people packed into one place that it seemed like he would drown from overpopulation. Earlier that morning, nobody seemed to want to talk to Daichi, so he had no choice but to attend the welcoming ceremony held every year, even though he has never attended a single one before in his now three years in Fukushima High.

On the way to his locker, Daichi spotted a third year girl from his class, 3B. The image of her intense eyes and chocolate-colored hair was pounded into his head. During the past two years, it was hard to not notice Taura Tsukino's piercing eyes that seemed like they were searching something inside of you while Taura would talk.

"Hello, Tsukino-san." waved Daichi, but he received no reply from his classmate and she brushed past his shoulder without saying a word. Flyers were in her hands and Daichi guessed that she was working on the swim team's recruitment. He reached his locker, retrieved the book he had placed in it earlier that morning, then walked off to search for club leaders after closing his locker. He passed by three people that Taura must have been talking too and Daichi decided to ignore them, not in the mood to really conversate. The guy in the group, Izanagi was his name, caught Daichi's attention. He recognized the guy as a Broadcast Club member from last year.

He must be the leader now, Daichi thought as he walked into another hallway. Izanagi always struck Daichi as one of the very few people who he thought was attractive, but no one could ever past Kyoya Nakazuki. Ever since his eyes had seen Kyoya, Daichi could not stop thinking about his classmate. They were both third years but in different classes. Daichi was in 3B and Kyoya was in 3A. Daichi smiled to himself as he began to daydream about Kyoya when suddenly he heard beautiful music coming from the choir practice room.

Daichi quickly peeked into the room. He saw Kyoya and a girl by a piano. Who is that girl, Daichi thought to himself as he frowned at the sight. The two began to conversate and Daichi brought his head back to the hallway.

Oh goodness, said Daichi in his head. I need to catch his attention one day. But when? he shook his head and walked off. One of these days, Daichi would get Kyoya Nakazuki's attention.

Kaiko Ishigawa

The red head simply gave Aya a small smile as the auburn haired girl slightly rambled, but Kaiko didn't mind since she seemed rather nice. "I was in a different class last year, but I've heard about you," Kaiko responded before adding, "And please don't call me by my last name, I get harassed enough by all the other girls in the school calling me 'Ishigawa-sama!," she stressed, even giving a rather high pitched impression of the several peers and underclassmen that greeted her just this morning. "I'll call you Aya-san, since I think you are older than me, and you can call me by my first name, it's only fair." Kaiko felt a little strange as Taura agreed with Aya in joining the swim team with those ever-glaring eyes of hers, but she simply shrugged it off since the upperclassman's words came out in a rather kind manner. Instead she shifted her gaze back to the girl in her class.

She drifted off as Aya mentioned joining one of the other clubs, she was rather skeptical about the swimming team, since as she mentioned before, she's not the best swimmer, but the broadcast club sounded okay. She did think about joining it the year before but with all her studies and hospital volunteering, she just couldn't muster up enough time for another club. This year, her parents told her specifically to be more active in the school community, and being one to always follow orders, she hesitantly agreed. "I'm not so sure about the swim team, I can swim decently, but I'm sure the other school's students will swim laps around me. I may join the broadcast club this year..." Kaiko murmured, appearing to be in deep thought.

"Anyway Aya-san, I think the welcome ceremony started a little while ago, would to go with me? We can sign up for our clubs then go to class afterwards, most of the other students act rather strangely around me, so it's kind of hard to get someone to accompany me." Kaiko said, eyeing the underclassmen who were mingling with the other girls of her year. When one of them caught her looking their way, the girl let out an ear piercing squeal and called out, "Good morning, Ishigawa-sama!". "See?" She whispered, giving Aya a knowing wink. "I tried to befriend them, but I think I came off rather cold." With her arms crossed, those cold, criticizing eyes, it was no wonder that the girls felt Kaiko was on a whole different social status than they were, though Kaiko remained completely oblivious to this fact.

The young woman is beginning to instruct, although perhaps that is not the intended tone, Aya on how she should address her. This young woman being Ishigawa-san, although she asks that Aya call her by her first name, Kaiko, and says that she will address Aya as Aya-san, in turn. For a moment, the auburn-haired girl is more focused on the fact that Kaiko has said that she knows about Aya due to having heard about her. You see, the girl with the sunny smile has a rather strong disapproval of gossip and talking about people when they aren't around, unless it is in a positive manner. Thus, for a moment she simply falls silent, not worried about what had been said, but contemplating on whether she should be irritated that people know about her without actually knowing her. Deciding to ignore the issue for the moment, she speaks up once more.

"No need to use -san, then. It seems to formal for my given name, don't you think? You can call me Aya-chan, okay? And I'll call you Kaiko-chan," she decides on her own, though her smile lessens the remnants of authority in her voice on the matter. As it is, she prefers that people call her Aya rather than her surname, Kanade, because she doesn't really like the sound of her surname. Aya, she thinks, is shorter and has a lighter tone to it, making it far more pleasant to say and hear, even if it isn't quite as traditional or elegant. She smiles at Kaiko-chan's mention of being called Ishigawa-sama, reminiscing, though not fondly, of when classmates called her Kanade-sama. She hardly hears such a title outside of the house these days, and is rather pleased with that fact. When the young woman before her seems to consider joining the broadcasting club, Aya grins and turns towards Izanagi-san, looking rather proud of herself.

"See? Recruiting cute female members already!" she announces victoriously. "Well, I must go,"[/b] Taura informs the gaggle brusquely before simply walking off, not really appearing to wait for, or even expect, a response on the matter. All the same, Aya sticks up her hand and waves goodbye to the young woman with the piercing gaze, her smile sunny and her tone similarly friendly. "Bye, Taura-chan! I'll see you later!" she calls out to the upperclassman, before her attention returns to her classmate.

"Sure, sounds like fun. I think we've missed most of the ceremony, anyway. It's the same thing every year, I suppose, though I do like to see the top students of each year," Aya responds brightly. She chuckles lightly at Kaiko-chan's unintended example of how people tend to address her, as well as the knowing wink which accompanied it.

"Well, you don't seem very cold to me. Come on, let's go now," she suggests, stepping forward to be beside Kaiko-chan. Before the two set off, however, she twists around and waves at Izanagi-san.

"Bye, Izanagi-san. See you later!"

"Do you want to check out the clubs first, or drop our things off at the classroom?"

Kaiko Ishigawa

Kaiko grew rigid at the mention of seeing the top students. She inwardly kicked herself for forgetting, but managed to keep her expression calm as the older classmate, even managing to form a nearly unrecognizable smile on her face as Aya mentioned not thinking she looked cold. The statement tugged at her heart. That was the exact statement all her other "friends" made before realizing how cold she truly was, or she appeared to be to them. The red head then attempted, but miserably failed to push the thought of the ceremony out of her mind. A constant image in her mind of the letter she received two days before the start of school, inviting her to join the other top students, popped into her head. She knew well enough that she most likely wasn't the top student, remembering those occasional students that study with all their heart, but her grades were well enough to get her recognized as one of the top students. With a grit of her teeth, "Um... Do you mind if we go to the Welcome Ceremony first it just slipped my mind that I was supposed to-"

"Ishigawa-san!" An old classmate, whose name slipped her mind, approached the two before bending down and panting heavily. "I've been looking for you everywhere! They need you at the ceremony!"

Damn, too late. Kaiko turned to the elder girl and bowed in farewell, immediately kicking herself mentally as the habit she usually only did to her elders kicked in. She also felt the incredulous stares boring holes into her back of the students. "I'm sorry, I'm needed, but please come if you want to and we can go sign up for clubs afterwards, before going to class."

Poking the former classmate's forehead, they quickly made their way to where the welcoming ceremony was being held. Kaiko quickly taking her place beside all the other top students. Since she already missed most of the ceremony, it wasn't long, though it did surprisingly take up the period they were supposed to have to sign up for clubs, before their principal was already giving them the usual, "Let's have a good year!" ending of her speech. Not too long afterwards, the bell rang, signaling the start of classes. With the rush of students, Kaiko found it impossible to find her elder classmate, if she even came to see the welcome ceremony in the first place. With a sigh, the red head slowly made her way into the building again hoping to find the head of auburn on her way there or the elder classmate to find her. It wasn't the first time her status in the school caused problems for her making friends, so Kaiko was accustomed to the disappointment, but Aya had the kind smile and laid back attitude that reminded her of her siblings. With another disappointed sigh, Kaiko continued to scan for the girl on her way to the class hoping to apologize again before class actually started.

Aya eyes Kaiko for a brief second, concerned slightly by the sudden rigidness of the young woman's posture, but smiles all the same, trying her best to ignore the red-haired girl's sudden expression of negative emotion in the silence that fills the void between the two. Well, maybe not the best way to start off. Did I hit a trigger? Aya thinks, though she continues to restrain any worried frowns. From her experience, expressing concern for a person only makes them feel worse- in her case, it is a hatred of being pitied and bothering others with her own insubstantial problems. She tends to minimize her own issues, thinking of those who have had experiences exponentially worse than hers. Aya is one of those types that believe that her sadness is unjustified, because someone out there has it worse. While this allows her to maintain a cheerful personality, for the most part, it can be slightly taxing on her emotional core. Not that she cares much about that, of course, considering herself to be as elastic as a fresh rubber band, always able to snap right back into place. Anyway, she smiles through the silence, as though a warm look can melt the ice between the two of them, until Kaiko begins to speak once more, her voice slightly strained.

"Sure, we-" Aya begins to respond brightly, until an upperclassmen runs over to them, shouting out Kaiko's name and saying that she is needed for the ceremony. While her expertise may not lie in math, the young woman is still able to put two and two together, realizing that Aya is probably one of those top students who are to address the classes today. Unlike the others, Aya doesn't seem fazed by being bowed to, or at least not at first. Before she can protest to the formal behavior, Kaiko is saying something about them meeting up after class, and then is whisked away by the other student. Aya stands still, watching all of this happen with a raised eyebrow and a smiling, yet bemused, expression. "Erm. Alrighty then," she murmurs to herself, scratching the back of her head in a rather unladylike manner before catching sight of some others and going over to talk to them. They quite willingly allow her into the group, as she is considered to be one of the female idols of the school. Of course, she remains oblivious to the fact that Kaiko is another one of them, or even to the fact that she is considered to be one. The latter is more due to lack of caring than any self esteem problems, and the former is justified by the same reason.

The people she walks with do nothing to educate her on the matter, because they hadn't seen Kaiko, and therefore have no comments to make on the cold behavior of the young hime-sama type. While Aya may be considered one of the warmer popular girls, Kaiko stands at the other side of the spectrum, a cool and untouchable beauty. The same circle, but different polarities entirely.

When the bell has rung, Aya does, to her credit, make an effort to find Kaiko. However, she ends up washed away in the sea of students, unable to locate the red-haired girl and pulled by the force of the movement towards the classrooms. At some point, she does manage to separate herself from the waves of people, only to have the good fortune of finding herself right in front of her classroom, 2A. I'll just set my things down, and then go searching for her, Aya decides, looking around and seeing that the class is mostly empty. In fact, the only two people in the class at the moment, besides her, are a boy with red hair and a bit of a scowl, as well as another boy who is going on about something in a rather dreamy voice. She recognizes both by face, but cannot identify them beyond knowing that they are part of the computer club. She doesn't really use much technology beyond her phone and Laptop, both of which are fitted with the best protections and such, and so has never visited the club before.

Maybe Kaiko-chan will get here soon, as well. If I were her, this'd be the first place I looked, Aya thinks hopefully, not wanting Kaiko to think that she just up and left. Aya walks over to the pair and addresses the young man with the dreamy look in his eye and the strange speaking pattern.

"Is this seat taken?" she inquires, gesturing towards the seat in front of him. He seems interesting enough, and Aya likes to sit near interesting people- it can make classes far more engaging.

Kaiko Ishigawa

There were also some rather beneficial traits to being well known in school, Kaiko realized as she walked down the crowd that slight shifted out of her way, not wanting to be the ones being the direct target of her somewhat irritated looking expression. The red head was almost completely oblivious to the look on her face though. She was truly agitated, but usually had enough self control to keep it from showing. It came as a surprise to her that she angered so easily, but she supposed having three people accidentally step on your toes while trying to find your classroom can do that to a person. Kaiko decided to take the logical route and drop off her stuff before trying to find the auburn haired mistress she's been trying to spot in the crowd since she left the welcome ceremony.

Seeing the familiar double doors of the band room, Kaiko couldn't help but halt her walking for a second before glancing in through the little window in the door. Her eyes widened in surprise but utter happiness as she found a large, black, and elegantly placed grand piano in the black center of the room. It only took her a millisecond to realize her old grand piano was missing a few weeks ago, after demanding to know where it was, her parents informed her that they had donated it to the school, since it was mostly just taking up room in the house. She was upset at first but realizing that she could play it while at school lessened her anger. Making a mental note to herself to check the piano later on, she continued weaving through the crowd. Finally turning a corner, the red head reached the 2nd year wing of the school and with it, found the first room on her right to be her own; 2A.

Taking one last glance at the crowd to try and search for a head of auburn for the last time, all the while ignoring the calling of a few underclassmen. Seeing it was meaningless, Kaiko let out a breath of air, running a hand through her hair and entered the classroom. Mid-sigh, the red head abruptly stopped as she found the girl she's been trying to look for the last few minutes. It appeared as though she were trying to engage in a conversation with the boy with the rather distant look. Kaiko glanced at the only other occupant of the room, saw a glimpse of his scowl and quickly deduced that the girl had made the right choice in deciding who to speak to out of the two of them. Approaching the girl, she playfully, and somewhat childishly tugged on a ruffle on her school uniform. "Aya-san, I've been trying to find you since the ceremony ended, I'm sorry again."

With what may seem like arrogance to others, though it was just due to the slight ache in the girl's legs from speed walking from the courtyard all the way to the 2nd year wing, Kaiko took the desk beside the one the red head just managed to see Aya gesture to when she first entered the classroom. She flipped her hair back and crossed her legs in a rather, again, arrogant looking manner, but truly she was just trying to move her hair due to it tickling her face, and she was trying to prop her right leg up, feeling a little sore from being stepped on. "If you still would like to, you can decide where we'll go and I'll accompany you."

Sewo Owomasu

“So I was thinking for the-” Ju was cut short by a question from a girl’s voice asking if a seat was taken.

Both Sewo and Ju turned to see the girl who had asked the question, and saw that she was pointing toward the seat in front of the one they were both sitting at. At the sight Ju elbowed Sewo in the ribs, trying to get the red haired club leader to realize this was one of the girls the bespectacled friend had mentioned earlier. Sewo merely glared at Ju for a second and rubbed his side, concerned less with the girl than with the nudge his friend had given him.

“Uh, no. The seat’s not taken at all!” Ju responded to the cheery looking girl. “It’s actually a pretty good seat too!” Sewo continued to give his talkative friend a bit of a glare while he prattled on. “Perfect positioning if I say so myself. I was eyeing it myself, but I think I’m going to take the one beside my friend here. That way it’ll-” Ju was inturrped by the voice of another girl, this one taking an authoritative tone that naturally silenced him.

Sewo watched as the girl seemed to strut over, sitting down and flipping her hair and crossing her legs. Sewo merely raised an eyebrow at the apparent display. The girl briefly reminded him of when he had seen a more strut about during a pony show once on the television. It put him off a bit, but he ignored it and returned his attention to his friend.

At the display, Ju had clammed up. The authoritative tone of the girl, coupled with her apparently arrogant attitude had caused Ju to stop being his normally expressive self and curl up into himself a bit. Being talked over and seemingly ignored had reminded him of the bullying he had received up until last year. Sewo saw this and quickly tried to put a stop to it.

“What were you saying then?” Sewo asked his friend, a genuine look of concern moving to his face. Ju responded to the red haired boy’s question, but in a mutter under his breath that couldn’t be heard by any of the three students that were nearby. At this Sewo sighed, then he put his hand on Ju’s shoulder. “Ju. We cant hear you.” Sewo said to his friend, looking him straight in the eye and giving him a supporting look. Ju looked up at Sewo with a confused look, and Sewo gave his friend a smile. At noticing the support of his friend, Ju visibly perked back up.

“I-” Ju laughed a bit and shook his head. “Sorry about that. I’ll be taking this seat then.” The boy said, pointing to the open seat on the other side of Sewo. “Sorry about interrupting you.” Ju apologized to the red haired girl that was sitting beside him and his friend. “How do you two-” Ju was cut off again by a buzzing from his pants. He jumped a little, then took out his phone. When he looked at it a big smile came to his face. “Sorry, I gotta… you should do your job club leader.” He said, referring to Sewo then getting up and going to claim a seat nearby, tapping on his phone all the while.

Sewo had quickly figured out that his friend was messaging his girlfriend. He sighed at being called out on not trying hard enough to recruit new members. He knew Ju was wanting him to invite the two girls, but to him they didn’t seem like they would be interested. Still it seemed Sewo had dug his own grave and felt bad for loosing a prospect earlier. Luckily he was saved by the teacher entering the room. In the time since the first girl had asked about the seat, the classroom had almost finished filling.

“So! It looks like you have all miraculously found the exact seats you have been assigned.” The teacher said giving a grin to his class. As some positive murmurs rippled through the class, Sewo frowned a bit at the open laziness, but got over it as it wasn’t that important. “So! Next on the agenda is class representatives. Who’s up for it!? You have sixty seconds to decide before I assign them myself.” The man looked down at his watch for a few seconds. Then, confused at the silence, he looked back up at the class and said. “Go!”

This time Sewo cracked a grin.

Already, Aya is glad that she chose this seat, because the classmate who begins to praise its virtues it rather funny, and even makes her laugh lightly as he prattles on about how fantastic the seat is. Truthfully, she only chose it because it was near the only other people in the room, and because he already gave the impression of a lively personality from when she first walked into the room. All in all, it seems that her first judgement was correct, and she beams at him, pleased, allowing him to finish singing the praises before she cuts in. However, someone else breaks through the speech first, the familiar authoritative tone of the girl whom she had met only an hour or so ago. I guess that she made it out of the assembly in one piece, then. Good thing I thought to come here first- otherwise, we may have wandered around forever looking for each other, Aya thinks to herself, and not dishonestly. She is the type who, if she has said that she will do something with a person, will wait for them for hours before she gives up and leaves. Aya tends to simply rationalize their absence in her head, an optimist who believes that people will follow through with their word, if possible.

"Oh, it's no problem, Kaiko-chan. I just came to the classroom to drop my stuff off and find you, but I guess that it is lucky that you came here as well!" Aya says brightly, clapping her hands together as she says it. Being distracted now by Kaiko, Aya doesn't realize how Ju has clammed up until the red-haired boy beside him addresses the previously very active seeming fellow. She knits her eyebrows together slightly, concerned with his sudden quietness and the look of uncomfortableness about him. He says something under his breath, but one would have to possess absolutely superb hearing in order to catch the words, and Aya doesn't really fit the requirements for getting to know what he has said. Anyway, he ends up stammering something rather meekly before moving to a seat next to his red-haired friend. Aya tries not to frown, as she had been looking forward to sitting in front of him- he seemed the dramatic sort, after all. However, upon sitting down, he does manage to start a coherent question, albeit one cut off before he can finish it, as the young man opened his phone, read the text, and broke into a large, bright smile. Seeing that eases Aya's concern, definitely, and she raises a hand in a wave as he leaves. "Goodbye!" she calls out to him, before turning back to Kaiko-chan.

"Hm. Well, I think that we have to go through homeroom a bit before we get to browse the clubs some more, right? Besides, I think-" she is interrupted by the teacher, who addresses a now nearly-full classroom with a goofy grin. He moves on rather quickly to class representative, and instantly Aya seems to light up. It is one of her personal goals to be class representative this year, as she had been last year, because she had lots of fun the first time around. No one else really seems to want the position, anyway, so she raises her hand with another cheerful smile.

"I'd like to volunteer for female class representative, if that's okay?" Luckily, plenty of the people in the class know Aya or know of her, and seem to have no complaints with her being the representative. Still, there remains time for those who want to contest her, and a male representative is still required.

Kaiko Ishigawa

Kaiko was usually placed on a pedestal and treated as though she were as fragile as glass, but she was no idiot. She noticed the somewhat strained look on the boy's, Ju apparently, face. She slightly visibly winced at the expression that flashed through his face as she's seen it plenty of times before. With a slow sigh she laid her legs straight under her and looked away, knowing immediately that she most likely appeared rather arrogant like most believed. The red head wanted to change herself, and with a quick glance at the now concerned looking auburn haired elder classmate, she knew this was why she was attracted by those hyper, rather active types. She wanted to be like them, like those who can approach a group and immediately mend into the talks and invited to spend time with them. Instead, whenever she tried to approach the groups, all animated talks stopped, they showered her with respect and kindness, but she just wanted to be like them. She kept her cool, ruthless-looking eyes planted to the front board, noticing the increasing amount of students in the room, and trying but failing to hear Ju's rather timid claiming of a seat elsewhere. After a little while however, she did hear the red head try to console him and Ju seem to perk up after receiving a call, so it lifted the guilt off of her shoulders ever so slightly.

Barely a minute later, the teacher showed himself, fully equipped with a lazy grin and announced that they would all be keeping the seats they happened to have been in at that moment. Then, he declared them to choose class representatives, in which Kaiko then inwardly groaned. It was only ever since she stepped into the junior high life and up to now that every single one of her teachers approached her to at least consider being their class representatives. She tended to avoid that particular job considering that the student chosen would have to speak for the class in almost every manner and have to lead all the festival activities. Kaiko wasn't very fond of leadership roles, only to the reason that she may not be as great a leader as those under her expect her to be. Actually, she outright avoided all activities that anyone would have a high expectation of her. Which is why she almost jumped out of her seat in happiness when Aya volunteered herself to be the female class representative.

Arigato, Kanade-san. Kaito mentally found herself saying in a relieved way. As she stared up at the teacher who nodded approvingly at the positive outburst before writing Aya's name on the board as one of the possible representatives. The red head practically glared at the board, more specifically, at the name written on it. A spark of familiarity lighting up at the deep crevices of her brain. Ka-Na-De... Kaiko found herself repeating the name syllable per syllable. "Kanade..." Kaiko murmured under her breath trying to think of where she's heard that name before, though only loud enough for her and possibly others surrounding her to hear. I think mother and father were talking about a rather famous family under that name.

Sewo Owomasu

Sewo watched from behind as the brown haired girl form before volunteered for the class representative position. It seemed that she quite liked to take the initiative. An admirable trait by Sewo’s standards, though it did tend to remind him a bit of a hamster running in a suspended wheel. The best thing about her volunteering is that by proximity, she tended to draw the attention away from himself, and that was a trait Sewo saved a special little place in his heart for.

“Ah, very good then.” The teacher responded to the girl’s initiative. Then he looked expectantly around for someone to either volunteer or nominate. However, even after a few moments, none came. “Well this is no good.” The expressive teacher said, the faked a glance at his watch. He had long past given up counting out sixty seconds. “Looks like I’m going to have to decide then.” He said glancing around the room. Though as the new girl representative sat down he found his mark, sitting with a bit of a smug look on his face. The kid was confident of his invisibly.

“You,” The teacher pointed to Sewo, “Behind our other representative. You’ll do fine then.” The teacher finished then turned to write his name on the board. Sewo was caught off guard for a second at the unexpected turn of events.

“No.” Sewo said simply after quickly recovering from the shock.

“Yes.” The teacher said without turning back around. Sokabe Sensei, where the words the teacher wrote on the board.

“Tch..” Sewo’s mind raced. Then and idea came to him. “I nominate Ochi Fu.” Sewo said confidently standing up. Fu snapped his head up like a meerkat that had just heard leopard approaching.

“Huh?” Fu responded gracefully, as he had been messaging his girlfriend nonstop since earlier. Sewo’s rationalization for this was that it would help bring Fu out of his shell. More importantly though, there was no way he was going to be a part of high school level bureaucracy. He might as well be building an underwater sushi bar.

“Heh.” The teacher laughed at Sewo’s attempted dodge as he turned back around to face the class. “Throwing your friend to the dogs to save your own skin. You already seem to be quite the politician.” The teacher accused Sewo with a grin. “Now, sit down and shut up…Representative-sama. It’s the first day, one of the few I’m not bound in chains by the schools lesson plan. I plan to spend every minute of my time teaching.” Then with that the man went straight into lecture. Sewo sat back down and put his forehead in his palm.

-------

“Come on then!” Ju chirped at Sewo as the red haired boy was finishing loading his books into his bag. Around them, the classroom buzzed as some people prepared to leave and others dug the lunch out of their bags.

“Yeah, yeah.” Sewo responded, still a little bit defeated over his forced appointment. Still, he had really enjoyed the lecture from their homeroom teacher, so he wasn’t two down. The other two teacher’s that had come by before the lunch break were both a little dry and stuffy though. That was generally the case with the first day though. As Sewo stood up, he could see Ju practically dancing.

“Ready?!” Jue asked with bated breath.

“Yeah, lets head out then.” Sewo responded, starting toward the exit to the classroom.

”~Yay~! ~Oh, my lovey-dovey lunch, we shant be apart for much longer~!” Ju excitedly fluttered about as the two exited the classroom.

Yuki Hayashi

Yuki sat alone and began to write down plans for the clubs she was in. Okay. I have to be a good sport and help out. Yuki started off by writing down
Martial Arts Club
at the top of her page and listed some things below it.

~Put up a stand in the next fair with a bunch of facts on Martials Arts
~Have a free teaching session on the weekend with a Martial Arts Master (payed for by us) for fundraising and improving interest in Martial Arts

Yuki suddenly got writer's block for Martial Arts ideas. Her mood was brightening up a little bit. Next thing she wrote was
Swim Team
and listed things below it.

~Swim-a-thon!
~Do races for fun, and for stamina improvement
~Use swim toys!

Yuki sighed. I can't let Tsukino-san know how childish I can be... Yuki brushed it off and wrote down
Music Club
and listed things below it.

~Music Videos
~Perform a mini-concert at the next fair
~Raise money for improved instruments
~Pay a professional to help with amateurs people who... Need help?

Yuki was afraid that the last part made her sound stuck up. She brushed it off and got a great idea. She wrote,
All groups

~A trip!

Yuki closed her notebook, and checked her watch. The bell will ring in a few minutes. Yuki checked her schedule. Special Gym Event? For... The whole schoole?! Yuki quickly finished eating and made her way inside. She dumped her garbage out and walked around for the remaining minutes she had left when she heard on the announcements,

Good afternoon students! After the bell rings, everyone make their way to the back field. The change rooms may be crowded, so if you want to get a head start before others start piling in, you are free to do so now!

The announcements went off and Yuki decided she should go early. She ran up to her classroom and got a neatly folded gym uniform that was stuffed in there, and made her way out to the back, and into the change room.

Akane Yamada

Akane noticed that a girl, seemingly younger than her, walked towards the edge of the roof and sighed. I don't blame her for not wanting to come near me. Maybe I should just leave her alone... Akane gathered her things and started walking away, and said one last thing before closing the door to the roof. "Sorry for taking your spot." She then shut the door and began walking back down to her own level, and head towards her classroom.

Akane walked in, not caring if anyone was inside or not, headed towards her desk and began eating. When she was done, she pulled out a notebook from her school bag, hanging from the side of her desk and began to doodle using a mechanical pencil from her bag.

Akane was busy doodling, and didn't even notice the time fly by. She heard the announcements,

Good afternoon students! After the bell rings, everyone make their way to the back field. The change rooms may be crowded, so if you want to get a head start before others start piling in, you are free to do so now!

and she packed her things up, pulling out a gym uniform, and started walking outside towards the girls change room. "It would be a good idea to get a head start. Why not?" Akane said to herself as she seen the change room, and came closer to it.

OOC: Hey guys! I'm tagging everyone because some of you seem a little inactive lately... You aren't required to read this post, if you don't want to. But I mentioned Kiku Satomi in this one. Soo, yep. Please keep posting everyone!

It would take a blind man to not see that Sewo did not want to be the male class representative, and even then he would hear it in the student's response and voice. So, perhaps a blind-deaf man would be required in order to not sense the reluctance about Sewo, who was basically forced into the position by the teacher. Aya turns around to face the red-haired young man, expression slightly apologetic because she realizes that he was likely chosen based on the fact that he sat directly behind her, and therefore was in the teacher's line of sight when she sat down. Anyway, she's trying to ignore the fact that Kaiko has just whispered her last name under her breath in the same manner that one says something when a memory about it is on the tip of their tongue, stubbornly refusing to make that final leap into recognition. Aya spent all of last year building herself without the aid of her family, and rather resents the notion of having to start over from scratch, for fear that it may land her in Kaiko's position: treated distantly by classmates. This is probably an unreasonable fear, given that many of her relationships have already been established, but she isn't always the most logical of people. When Sewo throws his friend, who is apparently named Fu, under the bus, Aya glances his way, catching the slight reflection of light against a cellphone's screen under the lad's desk.

The red-haired one's attempts fail anyway, and the teacher soon launches into a pleasantly engaging lecture, certainly starting off on the right foot for most of the students. Of course, that may partially be because they weren't forced to be representatives, as the student sitting behind her was. People are always so reluctant about it. I guess it just isn't most people's thing, Aya muses, somewhat disappointed because this was the case last year as well. Most of the students just find such positions to be needless hassles, but she enjoys planning and collaborating with other students on school-wide events and such. Her motivations aren't entirely so innocent, of course. Unknown to many students is the fact that, during the yearly school trip, the representatives, while everyone else is doing chores, get to go to a 'class improvement meeting', which is really little more than sitting around and playing games. A small perk, perhaps, but rather valuable to Aya, who can't cook to save her life. Cooking is generally the task given to the second year girls, after all, and she's afraid that she'll burn every single meal.

A few more classes pass before it is lunchtime, and people all disperse from the room. Lunch passes rather normally for Aya, who displays her rather monstrous appetite by downing an absurd amount of food before the announcement plays over the intercom, telling people to go to the locker rooms to change after the bell. Immediately after, the bell rings and there is a flood to get to the locker room. Aya quickly grabs Kaiko and drags her into the flood, "Come on, can't be late!" she says with a cheery smile as the two make their way to the rooms. Once there, Aya changes into gym shorts and a loose T-shirt, as well as a pair of white running shoes. She ties her hair up and is ready to go, all in about one minute or so. She is an athletic and energetic sort of person, and appears to be enthusiastic about whatever the school is calling them out for is.

"Are you ready to go, Kaiko-chan?"

Kei is actually rather glad for this outdoor event, because there aren't many incredibly interesting people in his class, that he has seen, and he is looking forward to seeing people in some of the other classes, 3rd year or otherwise. He gets lost in the crowd, somewhat, and ends up being pulled with the tide towards the changing room. On his way there, he runs into a friend, and the two try and talk over the dull roar of the crowds, though it ends up being more of a shouting match between the two of them, albeit one softened with smiles. In brief words, Kei relates to his friend the events of the day so far. Basically, no one woke him up, so he slept under the tree until the second class, at which point he darted towards his classroom and made something of a scene, though he managed to joke it off and get everyone to laugh, cementing his place as the slightly goofy kid- a ranking that he is not unhappy about, because he considers it to be a rather easy one. His teacher didn't seem to fond of his poor punctuality, of course, but such bad impressions can be smoothed over during the course of the year, hopefully. After that, he made it through the next class until lunch, when he went and met up with a different friend and ate outside. Kei had a packed lunch that he, being a surprisingly good cook, had prepared for himself, and the friend ended up eating around half of it because his mother had burnt the rice this morning- something about being in a hurry to get his younger siblings to school on time.

He proceeds to his friend share his day, until the duo finally reach the changing room and both change into basketball shorts and T-shirts. Whilst in the place, Kei notices two semi-familiar faces, Daichy and Kyoya. He doesn't know either of them particularly well, of course, but is pretty sure that one of them has been in his classes at some point or another, and deems that to be enough familiarity to qualify a greeting. He says hello to a few other people, and as he and his friend begin to walk out, stops by the pair. "Hey, Kyoya, Daichi. Do you know what we're doing today? If you two are ready to go, want to head out with us?" he asks affably.

Kaiko Ishigawa

Kaiko glanced back at the red headed boy sitting behind Aya all the while playfully clicking her tongue at that annoying something-you-should-know-but-won't-come-out feeling. She shrugged off the familiar ache, deciding it wasn't worth dwelling on and would come to her some time. She cracked a small smirk at the fellow red head's hard headedness about being made into the male class representative. The banter between the student and teacher was amusing, if not downright disrespectful. Once that was all settled and done with, after the red head tried to practically chuck his friend into the gutters-but failed, the teacher went straight into an interesting lecture.

The better half of the day went by rather slowly for the red head, but she couldn't necessarily argue considering that it was all a blur to her. With another ring of the bell, she just happened to snap out of it when students started to leave their desks. She lazily took out her own bento box, carefully unwrapped it from its silky handkerchief wrapping. Not even processing what she was putting into her mouth, though had enough sense to at least make sure it was food, she lifted her chopsticks into her mouth, chewed whatever she was eating, swallow, then repeat. She didn't exactly know why she was acting so automated, but she could guess that it had something to do with it being the first day of school. She knew somewhere deep inside her though that it was always like this. Last year, when all she had to depend on was her guts, intelligence, and some help with her natural smart-whipped vocabulary, she felt stuck; as if forever in a rut that she dug out herself. She glanced over at her newly acquainted friend who was almost acting like a vacuum and sucking in the food faster than she can keep track. Subconsciously, a smile formed on her face as she watched the auburn haired girl ravage what used to be her lunch.

An announcement snapped her out of her reverie and her smile formed into a smirk. If they were to go to the locker rooms to change, that only meant one thing. Gym. The class was always fun to Kaiko, it was just when she was sure she could possibly lose that she started to slack. Damn inferiority complex. The bell rang not too long afterwards, actually it was pretty quick, just enough for her to put her rewrapped bento back into her bag. People started pouring into the halls and Kaiko barely had enough time to grab her pack before Aya took a hold of her and they weaved through the crowd together.

The red head couldn't help but feel her face flush as the blood rushed to her cheeks. Her violet orbs glanced down at the hand that kept a firm grip around her own. She's never been used to any kind of skin-to-skin contact, heck when her own parents gave her a hug on her birthday, she just stood there, not knowing what to do with her hands at all. Her brothers also gave her occasional hugs, but it usual consisted of them smothering her. It's not like she didn't like it, but after mostly keeping to herself both at school and at home, she always felt rather strange with the concept. The pair burst into the locker room before separating to their own. Kaiko quickly changed into her new gym clothes before leaning on the locker beside her auburn friend's, all the while clipping her hair up. Aya then asked if she was ready to go.

"Yeah, let's go out to the back." Kaiko said, gesturing with a nod to the double doors that led to the back school yard. Once out in the fresh air, Kaiko once again felt as if she were in her element. With a quick stretch and crack of her knuckles, she gave a small challenging smirk to the auburn haired girl. "Wanna race around the track?" She knew it was a risk challenging someone that she didn't know when she had the worst inferiority complex known to herself, but she'd give it her all. While she knew Aya could most likely swim miles around her, the land was her element, being one of the best track runners in her middle school.

Aya is more than happy to follow Kaiko's suggestion that they go outside, because she loves the feeling of the sun on her back and the fresh air being absorbed by her skin when she is outside. While there is nothing particularly wrong with enjoying the indoors, such a preference has never been that of Aya, who would far prefer to spend every minute outside, soaking up everything around her and avoiding the aggravatingly finite boundaries of a room or a house. As far as she is concerned, the world and the sky are infinite, because they never stop, going on in an unending loop to create the world that they know. Perhaps the surface area is something which is set, but the possibilities have potential as never ending as the distance between one and two. Perhaps the infinity isn't particularly large, but it is infinity all the same- one of infinite possible infinities, creating a cycle which ensures that everyone has boundless potential, even if they themselves never realize that. Everyone has a million possible days that never were, or almost were, and they all compile to great this great amount of potential energy, so overwhelming that it can burn brighter than any supernova burning up in space.

Aya has never been the sort to think of the vastness of the universe and feel small in comparison. Rather, she imagines its expansiveness and cannot but feel nearly giddy at the fact that, in all of that, she somehow managed to exist, thanks to a lucky formation of particles and timing. The universe does not dwarf a person, but accentuates every possibility that they represent. It is the manifestation, edgeless and impossibly improbable, of all that every person and creature holds within them. And Aya thinks that to be one of the most magnificent things to ever be.

The young girl notices Kaiko stretching, and follows suit without actually thinking about it. Energetic and athletic as she is, it comes naturally for her to stretch, especially when someone else is doing it as well. She is ever a social creature, after all. "Oh? Sure! You'll probably lap me a million times, but I'm up for a race!" the auburn-haired girl agrees cheerily. When it comes to swimming, she is quite excellent, and Aya has a knack for soccer as well. However, she isn't spectacular at running. Of course, the young woman is a good runner based on warming up for other sports, and soccer dictates that she can go rather quickly, but she isn't a racer, and short distances are not her forte, as her best qualities are her reflexes and endurance. More likely than not, Kaiko is her superior when it comes to running. Aya realizes this, but doesn't care, because she is feeling even more energetic than usual, and wants to try and put the energy to use.

"We should hurry, before the event is announced," Aya adds with a smile.
