Soon after Bowser leaves on his airship, Alex, Andy, Kaia, and Renfield enter the castle, dragging a frozen Wilhelm 2.0.
"Incredibly lucky," said Alex. "Now if I remember this place right, the cannon is gonna be down the hall on the right, third door to the left."

As they enter the room, they find the Bowser Cannon ready to be raised, aimed, and fired. They dump Wilhelm's frozen body in the cannon.
"All of you might want to step back," said Alex, approaching a nearby console. "This is going to get loud."
Alex works the console based on what he remembers from his time in the Koopa military, raising it out of a large hole in the ground and pointing it skyward.
"Do you KNOW where you're AIMING?" asked Renfield.
"Vaguely," said Alex. "And it should be close enough to at least send a message. Firing in three! Two! One!"
Renfield covers his ears as Alex fires the cannon, sending Wilhelm soaring into space.
"All of you might want to step back," said Alex, approaching a nearby console. "This is going to get loud."

"Told you it would get loud," said Alex. "But just a few grunts here shouldn't be that big of an issue."
Meanwhile, Ripsaw, Terrus, and Duma enter the Tyrant's Castle, seeing several goons running in the direction of the cannon room.

Andy heard the approach of the guards echoing down the halls. "Uh...guess the speechifying can wait a bit longer. We gotta bail!"
The guards arrive and spot the four interfering with the cannon.
"Intruders!" Screamed the Hammer Bro, "Troopas! Get the intruders! NOW!"

Terrus, Ripsaw, and Duma arrive closely behind the guards.
"Oh, hey!" said Alex, noticing them come in.

"Nice timing!" said Alex. "At first I thought we were going to have trouble with these guards but now you're here and we've surrounded them, so it's all good!"
Alex turns to the guards.
"Oh, incidentally, how many of you guys are there?" asked Alex.

Alex parries the hammers, sending them back at the Hammer Bros, while Renfield and Duma get to work tearing them apart in a swarm of biting and claws and Terrus turns his hands into gigantic hammers, swinging them at the Hammer Bros.

Andy used the Gustbuster occult to suck up the stray hammers, then fired them upon the Hammer Bros. within a wind-ball.
"Yeah," said Alex. "They've always been like that. Now then... I'm sorry. For everything. I haven't appreciated you guys as I should. I've been so used to a life of adventure, or going on missions, or something like that, that I've become used to seeing assets instead of people, seeing what they can do rather than who they are. Kaia, without you we might never have survived the Old Chateau. Terrus, Duma, without you those Hammer Bros might have taken us by surprise. Renfield, without you, the rest of the Platoon might still be dead servants of Mars or whatever he calls himself these days. And Andy, I owe you the biggest apology, because without you I never would have gotten the courage to leave the city and try and get my things back. And I've been taking that for granted. I've been taking advantage of you guys, thinking that you'd just help me get my stuff with all your powers, when I missed the most important thing - you're my friends. And robot guy? I don't know you that well, but you can be my friend too if you like."
Renfield is quiet for a moment before pulling a shard of green crystal out of his jacket pocket and hurling it at Alex, who catches it.
"You've learned SOMETHING," said Renfield. "I SUPPOSE I can do this for you. But DON'T bother me AGAIN."
Renfield runs out of the Tyrant's Castle as Terrus hands the shard of Wrath over to Alex.
"I got this for you," said Terrus.
"Thanks, Terrus," said Alex. "For being a friend."

Ripsaw thinks for a while following the speech, feeling as though he had missed out on something - but quickly dismisses that thought, and bobs in the air as if to signify a nodding gesture.

Andy seemed to be contemplating what Alex said...until finally returning a sincere smile. "Apology accepted, man. Though...I really should apologize, too, for callin' you a coward and all...Maybe I was even less confident with that Thurston punk than you were, really."
"No worries," said Alex. "He has that effect on people. Now, since it's getting late, we should head over to Shafton, get some rest there, and go after Duncan in the morning. Sound good to everyone?"
