Many have said that San looks particularly wild, especially with his hair let free. He has dark black hair that flows to about his shoulders that he usually pulls back or tucks into a turban, and his beard and mustache are the same dark color. He has warm but dark eyes and a brilliant smile, though he is often fund with a serious upturned eyebrow look. Sanat is always impeccable dressed in the latest fashion, and tends to mix Indian and British fashion influences. Along with being well dressed, Sanat is also extremely fit, both because of a mix of good genes and training.

Sanat has an air of professionalism that follows him even when he is at his most casual. Perhaps it is the grace that his body moves with, but San is constantly seen as mature and ready for anything. And that is in his nature. San is rather happy-go-lucky, though he used to be more so, and tends to go with the flow, which can annoy his uptight customers, but he does not let this bother him. In fact, Sanat rarely lets anything bother him, which another one of hie either annoying or endearing traits, depending on who is describing him. He has friends in many places, and puts on an outgoing and nearly flirty persona when at events or out in public. Despite his outer appearance of gaiety, Sanat is very personal about his past and keeps his fears and dislikes private for fear of exploitation and repetition of the past he tries so hard to forget.

Born and raised in the bustling colonial city of Bombay (modern day Mumbai) in a politically relevant family. His traits of compassion and skill with people and trade are inherited from his parents, as his father was a politician and his mother was a shopkeeper. His childhood was relatively unmarred by tragedy, and he lived with his extended family in a large home in the city, learning traditions and growing into himself. His parents sent him to school in London, but he returned home every summer and winter breaks to spend time with family until he settled back in Bombay after his schooling, unsure of what he wanted with his life. After many failed attempts, Sanat finally decided to go into trade so that he could use his skills and travel all over, though often he only went to London and back.
San is handsome, and received much attention from ladies wherever he went, but there was only one woman who caught his eye, the daughter of his father's comrade, Raveena.
The two fell in love and were married when Sanat was 22. The two bought a home and began to live their lives happily together, until one of Sanat's clients took too much interest in his wife, and tried to steal her away while San was on one of his trips west. he had left Raveena home this one time because she was expecting, and this proved to be a fatal mistake. Raveena, strong in spirit, refused to be used by Sanat's client, and so he left her to die in a typhoon. She made her way back t their home but was fatally ill and weak from blood loss. When Sanat returned, he found his beloved limp in their bed, and at that moment he made the decision to move far away and try and erase the guilt and anger from his mind. Regret clouds his mind but he tries daily to become a better person and erase what he believes to be his sin of killing his beloved. He hired a demon to help him run his business and create a new life.
