Introduction
So what happened next. Fate decided to slap me a few more times. You see most people get to pass on, I'm guessing they reunite with their loved ones or some bullshit like that. Me though? I got stuck with the job of Grim Reaper. Yeah, no happy endings here, just another depressing century or two working my ass off, and now I don't even get paid. You see apparently fate has this lottery system, and if you exist, your entered, and if you win you get stuck here taking people souls. Granted you do get a few bonuses, the power to 'ghost' or turn invisible to anyone who isn't close to their due date. And it could be worse, you could be the poor sap who's reaper didn't show up and is now stuck in an immobile body that's still capable of feeling pain.
Well anyways, I'm Gregory and I'm now the manager of the New York branch of Grim reapers. Our job is to take a victims soul and lead them onto the afterlife, lucky little bastards.
Grims
Grim Reapers: A group of normal, everyday people who just happen to take souls. They got the short end of the stick in both life and death. They are given appointments by whomever happens to managing that branch of reapers (in this case Gregory) and must take the soul of a person before that person's body is buried. To spare their victim the pain of death and the pain of an autopsy most reapers try to remove the soul a moment before death reaches the victim. Reapers have the power to turn invisible to the eyes of the living. Anyone that's supposed to die on that day can still see them though. A reaper is not meant to have a huge affect on the world and is told not to get involved in anything.
Ghouls: The ghouls are created when someone dies without an appointment, usually meaning a reaper killed them. Ghouls are the force behind death. They are in a permanent ghost state, thus meaning that the living cannot see them. They cause accidents, feed a person's anger and are essentially murderers. They say that a reaper can destroy a ghoul but it is suggested that they never test it.
The afterlife: How the fuck should I know?
