Setting
"I just wanted some food."
"Shut it! Yer stole from the King. Yer gunna pay." A man shouted, tightening the bonds on the boys hands. His face was pushed down onto the stump by a big meaty fist making him stare at his executioner and the axe that should be coming down on his neck very soon.
But he refused them freedom. He closed his lips, caging them withing. These brutes wouldnt listen to reason, that was clear even now. Through the crowds he roamed, making his way behind the scene.
He took position above a cowering tree, overlooking the executioner. He withdrew his bow, placing a lonesome arrow within it. With the slightest movement of his finger, the bow whisked through the air, coming to rest on the executioners hand. He watched as the axe slammed against the eart besides the boy.
With one swift movement, he landed next to the men. "Why do you hold this boy? Dont you know life is god's most sacred gift?"
Michael looked up at the stranger demanding answers from the gaurds. "I were hungry. I just wanted to eat, that's all!"
With that, he turned and face the guard. "Blasphemy" with a solemn shake of the head, he planted his foot on the mans chest, sending him hurdling to the earth. Swiftly turning, he rested a foot on the stump by the boy, propelling himself into the air. He landed, his fist meeting the other guard's face. A restful yawn escaped his mouth, turning to face the wounded executioner as he slowly rested his hand on the butt of his sword. "Care to be forgiven?"
"You will now die with this young man." The executioner growled. "The King'll want that boy's head and yours next to it. Just wait til he hears what you did." He smirked.
Turning to face the boy, he propped him up by his shoulder. Cutting his bindings, he dropped the knife back into its sheathe. "Are you hurt?"
"The King'll have our heads now. We need to move and hide before they find us and find out what has happened." Michael told Lucifer. "By the way. I'm Michael."
The crowd dispersed, two black knights on two horses with braided manes wearing full black leather armor and masks and overarching hoods that hid their identities and carried lances strapped to the horse-bags. Three more on foot in full black robes and fancy steel armor, they carried long-swords and one carried a bow, missing an arrow.
Then the leader showed himself, one for theatrics and was clad in cured white leather with a etched leather mask and hood, a mace strapped to his back and his blue eyes shining though the slits in the mask, a brown clad warrior behind him with a shark's tooth necklace.
The white clad leader announced to the crowd as he stepped onto the platform, bowing to the king in a mock gesture. "You look well, good tyrant. We received word of your attempted execution here, now I truly must object to that and I use the word attempted because it IS a certainty." The crowd was shocked and appealed, The White Knight simply grinned under his mask.
It was clear the leader was expecting a reply.
"Well, well, well. I see The Black Knights have come to hand themselves over. You're just in time. Executions are just starting. I'm sure I can fit you all in." He smirked, motioning for his knights to take a step or two forward.
As the king commanded the men to step forward, Lucifer took a step forward. Pausing for a moment, he thought of retreating, this wasnt his fight after all...
"No, i must intervene" He spoke under his breath before quickly making his way though the crowd. He managed to make his way behind the scene, placing the tip of his sword on one of the guard's neck "I think it best that you make your exit now, sir"
But now the execution had been interrupted, something that never happened before. He cast a nervous glance at the King and to the other knights. He was still in training…he doubted he would be a match for fully trained soldiers. Even if these….ruffians seemed less experienced and not as well armed as the other Ayian knights that Ethan stood with, he was still unsure.
His only solace was that his master had insisted on him taking his bow, to practice his archery.
