Introduction
Twenty-four years have passed since Harry Potter defeated Lord Voldemort for good. The Wizarding World is finally beginning to recover from the devastating effects of the Second Wizarding War. The Ministry of Magic is back on its feet after years of floundering and trying to repair all of the damage Voldemort and his regime caused. The Daily Prophet has turned its writers to lighter topics, no longer telling of wartime horrors and dark deeds. Diagon Alley has once again become a colorful, lively place to shop for all of oneβs magical needs. In short, the Wizarding World is flourishing.
What better time, then, to commit to international magical cooperation? With the entirety of the Wizarding World sharing resources and ideas, the likelihood of another Voldemort rising to power unnoticed grows smaller and smaller.
Of course, old habits die hard, especially when those old habits are traditional Pureblood ideals. There are still those that adhere to the old ways, treating blood purity as something to take pride in. While they are few and far between, those voices are still outspoken about their beliefs. The old, proud wizarding families cling desperately to their ways, despite the fact that their beliefs were the cause of both of the major wars in the last century. Not all scars fade so quickly, and the Wizarding World was scarred beyond recognition.
Now, the children of those Witches and Wizards are attending Hogwarts, living in the shadows of the previous generation, but also in the peace that they had a hand in creating; but good does not last for ever, it couldn't possibly last much longer...It doesn't.
Slowly but surely, under the radar of most, things have been returning to their terrible ways. Dark forces are reawakening, and it's time for the next generation to prove their worth.
Numbers of Death Eaters are slowly rising once more, Aurors donβt know the cause of this, investigations are underway as to this sudden uprise. Thereβs a worry in the air that perhaps the Dark Lord is returning once more, or perhaps another great danger. Whatever it may be, not before long, students and teachers are going to have to choose a side once more. And it will be as if it were 24 years ago.
The relationship between Pure-Blood Wizard Scorpius Malfoy and Half-Blood Witch Rose Weasley is competitive and romantic as each of them push the other to their limit. As their relationship grows and blossoms throughout their years at Hogwarts, they return in their sixth year as a rather happy couple.
With the shadows slowly creeping back into the wizarding world and the number of Death Eaters rising, tensions grow as certain families are looked up to and others are looked down on. The world changing once more, and perhaps not for the best, Rose is told to stay away from Scorpius and his family, that a Weasely and a Malfoy shouldn't be seen breathing the same air, not in times like this. But she has never been one to listen or participate in others politics.
While people look to the Weaselys and down at the Malfoys, the teens struggle to stay on the right track, not wanting to be pulled apart by what happened in the past. A Malfoy isn't always bad.

The coming year was supposed to be a great one. She was Quidditch team captain, and up for head girl; but with her parents working so high up in the Ministry of Magic, she heard things. Things that made it seem like the wizarding world was falling back into chaos.
People were turning to different families for support, and waited for others to turn back to the dark side. Their owl never stopped flying it seemed.
"Rose, make sure the twins get there alright. We would take you, but the Ministry needs us." Hermione called as she rushed around their house gathering things. "Do not leave any later than 9 o'clock to get to the platform."
Rose nodded her head along to every word her mother was saying. The twins were a handful, but they were just as excited to go back to school as she was.
"Okay, mum." She stood up from where she was sitting reading the letter she had received from Scorpius, casually placing it on the table as she stood.
"Have a good year, all three of you." Rose looked over at her father, knowing that he would have a little more to say, and he did.
"Rosie, I'm telling you, don't get your heart caught up with that boy." Ron started, looking her in the eyes. "People are talking."
"That is all it is daddy, talk". She pressed a kiss to his cheek. "Just because he is a Malfoy, and a Slytherin, doesn't make him bad. Scorpius is different." Turning her father around, she pushed him towards the door. "Now go, before you're late."
As she was told to do, she rounded her younger siblings up, got them to collect their things and they were out the door to the platform at 9. Once they arrived at the platform, at about 11, Rose immediately started looking around the crowd of students for that white haired boy, ignoring her sisters snide remarks.
"Jessa, you and Hugo go and find a seat on the train. I will be with you in a few minutes." She looked down at her little sister, running a hand through her own red hair to get it out of her face, waiting for the twins to move. Of course Jessa just stood there and smirked at her. "Now, Jessa. Or you won't get a seat."

Scorpius was really, really giddy about this year and that was because it was finally his sixth year at Hogwarts but most importantly, he got to see Rose. Yes, she was a Weasley and he was a Malfoy but that did not really justify the relationship between the two. Scorpius was nothing at all like his father was in school, or so he has heard on multiple occasions from professors and even the children from other families. Honestly, all in all, he was getting tired of hearing it and would now just block it out.
When his father made the final turn into the train station known as King's Cross, Scorpius muttered the word finally as his father turned towards him with a scolded look. "Don't start." Draco said as Scorpius sighed and unbuckled his seatbelt. "Hey, don't be messing around with that Weasley girl either. They're all disgusting and I guarantee you most are Mug Bloods." Draco stated as Scorpius could not help but intervene with words of his own. "You don't know them. You may have went to school with Harry and Ron but times have changed, Dad. And stop saying Mug Bloods because they hate that word."
"You've gone soft since you met that girl." Draco remarked as Scorpius finally got out of the vehicle and closed the door behind him. "Remember, no girls!" Draco shouted from the window that he rolled down then rolled back up whenever Scorpius waved his hand towards him. From there, he walked into King's Cross station and seen a few of his friends along with multiple red heads but none of them were Rose. Even thinking about her made him smile and he even wonders to himself if she had gotten his letter.
After meeting with a few of his friends and still looking for Rose, he had finally found her and walked over to where she was as it seems she had dismissed her twin siblings. Scorpius purposely bumped into her, smiling and blushing from ear to ear, then opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out at first then he cleared his throat and tried again. "I was hoping to see you before we got on the train. Excited for another year? Oh, congratulations of getting Quidditch captain and all your other accomplishments. I know there's a few others." Scorpius mentioned as he softly nudged her with his elbow.
"Oh, did you get my letter?" Scorpius asked with his brow raised up slightly.

Rose turned when she was bumped, an annoyed look on her face which instantly softened when she saw the culprit. She tucked a stray strand of red hair behind her ear, looking up at him, her smile soft and loving. Her pale cheeks quickly turned a shade of red to the compliment, normally she would take it with a quick thank you, but this was Scorpius.
"I did." Rose breathed, pulling the letter she had written in return out of her pocket, handing it to him. "I was going to send it by owl, but, I thought that was rather pointless a day before we return to school."
She playfully elbowed him back, before running her hand down his arm, fingers brushing over his, before the laced together with his. "We need to get on the train." Lifting onto her tiptoes, she pressed a kiss to his cheek, turning and walking towards a car door tugging the hand she held as a little bit of encouragement.
As soon as she stepped onto the train the tension was clear. Purebloods had separated off into their own groups, as did the half-bloods and the muggle borns. Last year each house was mingling, Gryffindors were best friends with Slytherins, now it seemed they had separated again.
Rose looked back at Scorpius, wanting to look at him and not all the eyes that were staring at them. She heard the soft mumbling about what kind of Gryffindor would date a Slytherin, and how her mother and father could let her be involved with a Malfoy with Draco's history. The grip she had on his hand tightened, her chest unmoving as she was holding her breath, one she let out once she found an opening and slipped in.
