The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 3 authors
Time seemed to go so slow in this school. I waited for lunch. It would be the only time to meet up with the girls before the party had started. After all, I had to arrange a plan with all the girls. What were we going to do the whole night, after all? And my mother would be out late, but she'd approved of this party of mine. She thought it was beneficial for the girls to meet up and study. Of course, apart from being the eldest child, I had to look after my terror of a sister, Harrietta. She couldn't just leave me alone for just one minute, she always had to ruin everything for me. I hated that, well tonghit was going to be a new story. I was not going to let anything go wrong for me. So my mother thinks, we're having a study session-I couldn't break it to her that I was going to be having a sleepover that is a party. But she would say, "Include some maths while you're listening to music, wont you?"
I smiled at the thought. Up until a few years ago, I thought my mother hated me. Well, I was wrong. She actually said she loved me, and cared for me. And I didn't deny it. I knew when she was telling the truth. She told me that she needed to assure that Harrietta was old enough to look after herself. Well, she was now, sort of. And so now she equally spends time between us. I had been doing my last mathematics equation, thinking of all this-and all the possibilities of all the things that could go terribly horrible.
I just had to occupy my step-sister and everything would be good to go. I smirked. Halfway through the question, the bell rang. I seen all the eager kids leave the room. It was about time. My teacher had been packing up her things as well, already for her lunch break, what a typical teacher.
I momentarily stared at her. I was packing my pencil into my case when she called me over. I zipped up my orange bag, matching my carrot-top hair, and walked over. Strapping it on my shoulders. I smiled, "Yes, Miss?"
"Your last exam papers are excellent, keep it up. You scored 90%. I'm so proud, you might be in the highest class next year." She walked out. I smiled to myself. Yes, mom would be so proud!
I had to tell the girls my exciting news. I rushed down to our usual spot at the picnic table and took a seat.
I leaned back, not really listening to the teacher. It wasn't that I didn't usually listen in class - I was just somewhere else today. In my mind, I mean. For some reason, I couldn't stop thinking about Stanley, my ex. I could usually manage to stop thinking about him in class, even though he sat a few seats in front of me. But for some reason today, he kept worming his way into my thoughts, even when I tried to concentrate on my work.
I couldn't take it anymore. I put my head down on the table, taking small breaths and trying to push his face out of my head. Go away, go away, I thought over and over, even if only to think about something else.
"Miss Darrell, are you okay?" My head snapped up at the mention of my name. The class was dead quiet, and everyone, including the teacher, was staring at me. Well, everyone except Stanley, that is. He was smiling at another girl sitting at the corner of the room, that dazzling smile with his blue eyes sparkling...
Stop it, Stace, I told myself sternly. Forcing a smile, I nodded at the teacher. "Yes, Miss."
She frowned at me. "You look a little pale. Why don't you go early for lunch? If you feel better later you can come back to class." At that moment, I really loved her with all of my heart. "Yes, Miss. Thank you, Miss," I replied. Quickly, I got up and left the classroom, rushing to the cafeteria.
Somehow, I didn't feel like sitting at our usual spot today. I took a table a couple of metres away and sat down, leaning my forehead against the cool wood.
I had just taken a seat at the table, when I'd seen Stacey. I was about to spread my enjoyable news to all the girls when I just happened to glance over my shoulder. I was unpacking my bag to eat my lunch. A simple cheese sandwich. Even though, it was simple, I still loved the taste of it. I was about to take a bite into the bread when Stacey popped into my view.
She looked as though she'd been there since before the lunch break. I kept glancing over my shoulder feeling sorry for her. Although none of the other girls seemed to take notice. But I felt some pain inside of me. Looks like, just because some peoples lives were up-right and happy at the moment, not everyone else was and here was just an example. Poor Stace.
She been through a lot lately with her ex. So that was probably what it was. I wasn't her best friend-but I felt like I should give her some comfort. So secretively I sneaked away from the others to see how she was coping.
"Hey Stace. What's wrong?" Simple is always the best way to apporach someone with a problem. Little bit by little bit counts-to get them talking and the information flowing out of their mouth. Like they could trust you. And really feel as though you xcould be there for them. And besides...this was not a good start to the sleepover tonight. I wanted everyone to be happy. So I tried to make a joke but it failed. "So, I guess you're single and ready to mingle, now, right?" I gave a giggle hoping it would do the same trick on her.
"Hey Stace. What's wrong?" An unexpected voice made me jump a little. I turned to see Tyler-Rose, or Charlotte as she liked to be called, standing beside me. She smiled at me. "So, I guess you're single and ready to mingle, now, right?" she asked, before giggling a little.
I smiled a little. It wasn't really forced, as I was glad to have friends that cared about me, but I couldn't really smile because I still felt terrible anyway. "Yeah, sure..." I trailed off, adding under my breath, "I guess."
At this moment, I saw the expression on her face. Somehow, it was hopeful, yet worried at the same time, and I suddenly felt horrid and despicable for making her feel like this. So I smiled a little wider, and told her, "Thanks for asking, but I'm fine. Totally fine."
I only hoped that she couldn't see that only half of what I'd said was true.
I nodded. I wasn't sure whether Stace was telling the truth. She had this way of not letting her emotions fly out, a bit like me. I knew what she was like, but she looked as though this information that was given was fake, but trying to be covered up. I didn't want to argue with a friend, escpecially the day of the party, too. So, I just agreed.
"So, Stace, come back to the table with the others. I've got some news to tell you all. And I also have to discuss the sleepover with the girls...besides you don't want to miss out on the movies and...maybe even some...games tonight, right?"
I was hoping that she'd accept the "re-offer" again. I wasn't going to let her just stay here and have a cry on her own. If she was going to cry, it would be with us. And we also had to talk about what was going to happen tonight, organize a few things to do...in preparation of tonight. So, I pulled at her arm and yanked her toward the others.
"Come on, you." I said, grinning. I knew she'd never fight with me now. She had to come.

I spoke to all the other girls about what the teacher had given me for results and the comments. They looked joyed-if they weren't. Stacey looked okay now. I think, I'm not quite good at reading others emotions. Like I said before, she's like me-so I dunno.
I had taken a seat at the end of the table, next to Stacey. But the table seemed empty-normally ten of us sat here. Now, however, there only seemed to be (nine) of us. I kind of focused on the girls at the table, trying to work out who exactly was missing. Then I realized all about Peyton and her classes. She had fencing practice now. I hoped she was still going to be able to make it to the party and not with that gear.
Just then, thinking about Peyton's fencing, her phone began ringing. She scrambled through her bag and found her phone down the bottom of her bag, and answered it right on the last ring.
"Hello?"

"Jeez, Peyton! Calm down. We're still at school, but we should be home soon. Are you on the bus? I hear noises? The teachers will think you are truanting!" I was in panic for my friend. Had she been joking, lying or was she for real?
"Wait...Peyton. You're joking, right?" I began to giggle at the joke that Peyton had made. I saw the look on the others faces and laughed more, they had bizzare expressions on their faces.
I took the phone away from my ear, "It's ok, Peyton. She just made a joke. She'll be here soon."

I had been constantly laughing. Slamming my hands against the table everytime I had another gasp of breath. It was so funny - I hadn't exactly known what but everytime I tried to remain emotionless, I just kept laughing because it was that hilarious.
I just stopped when one of the girls pat me on the shoulder and grasped at them so forcefully they ached, now I hadn't had a reason to laugh so I just sat there, in agony.
But out of no where, she had been facing the other way, she had seen a few girls wave but I never knew what and I was about to turn around when something pounced on my back, causing me to jump and shudder. "Rah!" I seriously got scared. It was so not funny. But I turned around to see who the criminal was behind the hands.
"Oh My God, Peyton! You scared the living daylights outta me!" I sighed in relief. It was just Peyton. I felt like strangling her but I gave a fake playful slap toward her face. "Do not do that again! I'm warning you." I pointed my index finger in her direction, signalling for her to obey my command.
The I took a deep breath in and out releasing the fear. My heart was still pounding furiously.
But, now that Peyton was here, we needed to plan our evening. "Take a seat Peyton. So about tonight...Let's plan it."

I heard Peyton crack up laughing before asking a question, "Okay so what horrible gut wrenching torture do you all have planned already?" I couldn't help but laugh at this comment. She had sounded as though this were not her dream holiday at all. As if it were some challenge she had to conquer. I had raised my voice as I could tell all the eyes were on me from the other girls and I became proper and offical, like a politician and said, "Oh, I'm sure we'll have a great time. I hope you guys like horror movies and scary stories and what about a game of Truth Or Dare? I'm sure that will be fun, what do you all think?"
