Introduction
The gaudians grew up just like a normal kid. Loving parents, normal school. The only difference, is that they were born with a small tattoo of an animal on their ankle. When they would dream, it they could 'visit' a thorn. Their Thorn. They felt very close to their Thorn, and could speak to them through their dreams. Even when they were awake, They were connected to their thorns. They could feel any strong emotion that they felt. Even without actually meeting them, they loved them. When they spoke to their Thorns in their dreams, they realized they didn't have names. So they gave them nicknames. The Thorns never told anyone about their nicknames, holding that name close to their hearts.
When the students arrive at Night Academy, the Thorns are given their royal full names. The guardians are introduced to their abilities, which they never knew about. Each of them can control their abilities. When they gaurdians and their Thorns are brought together, it's clear that they are in love. But there's one problem. Guardians are free to love who they please, but Thorns had a 'breeding match'. Thorns had to be with Thorns.

Annabelle closed her eyes and spread out her fingers to catch a snowflake as Thorns quickly moved around her, making their way into their new dorms. She opened her eyes and looked up at the ground, that was covered in a thick veil of snow. It was beautiful. She watched her warm breaths disappear into the early morning air as cold snow melted into freezing when it touched her warm skin. Her body ached to shift into her wolf for that was much better equipped for snow, but she resisted. She sat down on her bag and made hand prints in the snow, with a small smile. It was so quiet that she could close her eyes and actually not be distracted by other wolves, or Thorns. Everyone else had gone inside to escape the bitter cold. In fact, some where probably looking out the window that whispering about how crazy she must be. But at the moment, she really didn't care. She glanced down at her bright red gloves, caked in snow, before touching the little pink pom-pom on the top of her hat and brushing off the snow. Hearing a little chirp shatter the peaceful silence, she glanced up to see a plump bluejay sitting just about half a foot from her. It seemed intrigued with her pink knitted hat. Trying not to spook it, she very slowly reached down and put her hand in front of it, hoping it would step onto her gloved hand. The bluejay stared at her hand for a long minute before deciding it was safe and stepping on. With a sweet smile, Annabelle brought the bluejay up into her lap. "Hi there, sweetheart." She crooned gently, trying hard not to scare it. The bird was beautiful, with sleek blue feathers and an intelligent-looking expression. Very slowly reaching into her bag, she pulled out a small piece of banana bread that one of her kind teachers had smuggled her. Breaking off a little, she set it down in her lap in front of the bird. Again the bluejay stared at it for a minute before dipping his head down and nibbling away at it. Smiling to herself, Annabelle leaned back onto an ice-covered tree while the bird ate away at the banana bread. Vaguely, she wondered if birds were even supposed to have banana. She brushed this thought away, figuring it would be fine.

Amarli sat at the back of the Night Academy. She was in her white fox form, jumping and skidding through the snow. She would have laughed out loud, if a white fox's mouth could make such a sound. She let out a sharp bark, scaring away numerous birds and animals away from her area. She allowed her red tongue to hang out of her mouth as she coiled her back legs ready to jump. As she leaped up she caught a snowflake in her mouth and felt the strange cold, burning sensation as it slowly melted on her fox tongue. Her eyes caught sight of Annabelle sitting in the snow. She didn't know her very well...come to think of it, she didn't really know anyone beside the white fox female she had met a while back at the Thorn Academy.
Most of the other Thorns had more social animals, however with a white fox, she was more solitary and the brief meeting with the other fox feline had lasted no more then fifteen minutes exchanging news of the males in the area and the lack of prey. She had a wild curiousity to know what her room looked like and what exactly was the animal that made that scent over there...her fox thought won and she followed it with her nose until she realised it was following Annabelle's scent. No wonder it was strange, part wolf and part human didn't seem to mix too well with her fox nature.
Her fox's curiousity satated, Amarli returned to human form. Her white hair reached down her back, her warm winter dress not making much of a contrast to the snow. As she turned she realised she must have startled Annabelle, after all a while ago she had probably felt herself to be alone.
She sent Annabelle an apologetic smile before slowly walking in the direction of the Night Academy. She couldn't help feeling excited. Rumour had it that her guardian would be there. She could still she his dark tanned face with his dark brown eyes that was the remainder of her dreams. It would be interesting to meet him. She would also prabably get to know her breeding partner as well. It was a little confusing to look forward more to seeing her guardian. Wasn't she supposed to like her breeding partner better? Amarli sighed slightly, who knew?

Eugh. Snow. It was so cold. And wet. Sebastian hated the snow. He was built for the desert, well, his animal was at least. He pulled the hood of his grey jacket up so the synthetic fur tickled his face and held his hands to his mouth to warm them. Then he jammed them into the pocket of his coat, focusing on traversing the slippery snowy ground. Step step step, slip, almost fall, look up and glare around him just in case anyone saw. Nope, there wasn't anyone looking in his direction. Although, there was one young lady sitting in the snow, a bird in her hand. How could she tolerate such chattery things as birds? And sitting in the snow no less. Sebastian shuddered in disgust and turned his eyes back to the ground in front of him.
And then Sebastian nearly ran into a different young woman, who's outfit nearly blended with the snow. Then he wrinkled his nose. Resist the urge to talk. Resist it. No sharp and biting comments this soon. Especially when he was getting more or less than a clean start here. A blank canvass to craft his blood red lies over. It would be a gorgeous painting, when it was done. But it meant he couldn't have a word out of place. Sebastian veered to one side, speeding up his pace with his head down. Just ignore her. Keep going, into the building where it is less cold and wet.
Sebastian couldn't help but shoot a wary glance over his shoulder, however, to see how the young lady had reacted. Curiosity often got the better of him. Like its said, curiosity killed the cat. Satisfaction brought him back.

He looked upwards as he entered the school to find her; his shocked expression was a bit much for the circumstances. Sh-she's here? His mind was a bit jumbled after him standing there staring at her like a perverted stalker before he moved on.

He hated that word, it was like a fly people would always swat away but would always return. From a young age Jake had been put in Thorn academy, where nothing except perfection and disipline were accepted, there were no easy teachers, no member of staff acted as if you were their friend. He, compared to others, had probably had the worst time of it, and why? Because he never liked being kept down by something or someone, he had a strong sprit and in most schools would earn him a respectable title, not at Thorn academy, it had only brought him greif, and experiences he would always recount as nightmares.
But this is getting off track, Jake walked along the sidewalks, looking at all the other people who passed him, taking details from their face, anyone can be an enemy or an ally. He would always remember that.

Trudge, trudge, yawn. Trudge, trudge, yawn again. Matthew shook his head vehemently, trying to clear his mind of fog that's been clouding his senses. He couldn't help it, winter always made him sleepy, especially when it snows. Something about all that snow covering the land just makes it so relaxing... As Matthew's eyelids slid close for the umpteenth time, a face resurfaced in his mind. The image was faded but Matthew knew that face, he had seen it in his dreams many times. Matthew shook himself again, this time dislodging the snow that had collected on his head, only to have it slide down into his shirt. Matthew yelped and hopped frantically about, trying to shake free the now melting snow from inside his shirt.
Well, now he was wide awake, Matthew could see that he had already arrived at the Night academy. Matthew could see people staring at his antics and grin sheepishly as he moved towards the front gates.
Joseph Coors
Coors. An interesting name, but an alien one nevertheless. Joseph was not accustomed to having a full name, he had always been called Joseph Thorn. To name a thing is to make a thing. So what did this name make him? Is he a real person now? Well, at least now he has a real name just like everyone and along with this name came a new school. It was at this school that he is staring from his perch on top of the cypress trees in the courtyard. In fact, he has been here all night, taking his time to get used to this new environment. With a soft "whooo" Joseph dropped down from his branch, spreading his wings wide to slow his fall and transforming into his human form as he landed beside Annabelle. His sudden appearance scared away the bluejay that was pecking at the crumbs.
"Don't bother feeding that little beggar," Joseph said, gesturing to the bluejay flying above them, "I have watched him eat his fill of worms already, but that greedy git will eat until she explodes if you let her."

She knew he would help her. However, she hadn't actually meet him, well except for in her dreams. Be she knew he would help her somehow.
Sienna finally ran under the first area she could find to shelter her from the snow. she stood there wet and shaking. She checked her jacket to make sure there was no snow left on her. Sienna took one more look out at all the people standing in the sea of snow. She hope this year would be good. She thought maybe here she could make some new friends and if she is lucky possibly finally meet him.
