The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 2 authors
Akira had his backpack and lunch ready for the day. School was one of few things he looked forward to, these days, as it stimulates his brain and stuff like that. Plus, he could make new friends in this town he was in. At homeroom, he noticed a seemingly hyperactive brown-haired woman and had to laugh to himself. Sheβs just full of energy, huh? There is no doubt in my mind that she will find someone to date. I just need to focus on my studying, for now. Canβt open a restaurant without an education. He decided to sit next to this brunette. Who knows? Maybe they could be friends. He did not intend to do anything romantic. Little did he know, he would after he meets a certain girl, at a later time.
----
Jonathan hid most of his rage, leaving merely the eyes, which continued to have this angry persona. He wanted revenge to the point where he was dedicated to it. The boy realized he had to focus on school during the day. Hopefully, he would not wind up grumpy. Glancing over at the list of classes, he found the one he was supposed to go to, which also listed another name which has the same surname as him. Nobuo Takeda, huh? Well, it's a common last name, so I doubt that could be my older brother, wherever he is. At the room, he sat next to a window he could glance through.
-----
"No, it's not a toy. That is a military-grade Beretta M9, commonly used in the United States Armed Forces in such wars as the War in Iraq. Be extra careful when handling it, and keep the safety on." Nobuo was caught carrying a pistol concealed within his uniform, which the adult speaking to him mistook for a fake. That same staff member gave him a suspicious glare, to which Nobuo only responded to with the blank military face which he was trained to maintain at all times when speaking to his superiors, while standing in the at-ease position.
βJust get to class! Iβll hold on to this until the end of the first quarter of the school year, to drive the point home!β
βYes, maβam!β Nobuo saluted before making an about face and heading to his homeroom. Inside, he saw an individual whom was particular angry at something. Well, considering he was only trained in military matters, he could not figure out anything. So, he sat in a desk at another corner. He was instructed by his captain beforehand not to reveal anything of his missions or alias. He was to keep his past to himself at all times, except in regards to his life before that of a soldier, plus whatever hobbies besides training.
--
Etsuko was a little worried about what could happen at school. She did want to make new friends, yet she felt that would be hard to do. Once she got to her homeroom, she saw a purple-haired girl hard at work knitting something. Well, looks like someone shares a hobby of mine. Maybe⦠just maybe⦠Grinning softly, she sat at a desk next to hers and brought out a hat she, herself, has been knitting prior to the school day. Etsuko just about finished her own hat when class began. It was the usual introductions and choosing a class representative. With all that out of the way, it was time to introduce new students. This made the half-Italian girl worry a little. What could she say?
Of course, she noticed a green-haired boy go first. He seemed a little shy. Somehow, seeing him made her feel better and she listened to whatever he had to say.
--
Back in homeroom with Akira, Nobuo, and Jonathan, Nobuo came up to the front, first. He stood in the at-ease position while he spoke. Normally, when introducing himself, he would mention his rank, but that was strictly classified information, and he was instructed by the captain not to reveal it. Instead, his introduction went along like this:
βMy name is Nobuo Takeda. I transferred here from Okinawa, where I previously resided. Before that, I have been around quite a bit of the world. I spend my spare time exercising, reading, and sparring. That is all I have to say.β
The class gave him weird looks for his stance that he took, whispering amongst themselves that he has the look of a military nut. When the teacher opened it up for the students to ask questions, nobody seemed to have one for him. So, Nobuo was told to get back to his seat. Next up was Isamato.
Yoshimoto Shingehito took a breath and stood up. Everyone who knew him was beaming at him... He blinked, then began. "Hello, I'm Yoshimoto Shingehito. Pleasure to meet you all. I play in the band 'Green' as the singer. Most of you have heard of me. I hope we can all get along together." He sat down. Several girls seemed a little too enthusiastic about his rather lame, or at least to him it was lame, introduction. He sat down and started staring out the window.
Murakami didn't know anyone in the room, which was kinda bad. No one could explain to everyone that she couldn't introduce herself without running away. Maybe she can try to make an excuse... Bathroom? Yeah, that would be best, as she probably would be shaking, making saying no look cruel. She wasn't paying attention to anyone, hoping to not attract any attention by focusing on her knitting. Someone sat in the seat next to hers. Hope he or she isn't a talker... Murakami thought, speeding up her knitting.
Aiko opened the door, breathless. She couldn't believe that she missed the train... "I'm sorry, I won't be late next time." She said, bowing to the teacher. The teacher looked rather miffed, but he told her to take her seat. "There is always that one student..." He mutters, looking back at the attendance sheet. Aiko walked forward and sat next to the only empty seat, in front of this guy who was sitting in a more attentive manor than most kids their age. Whatever. It was the first day of school. As long as she made it in time for her to introduce herself, she was good.
Akira gently grinned. at the sight of the girl who was barely on time for introductions. She's pretty. Alas, he felt it best not to get romantically involved with anyone. It was not like anything would happen between them, right? At least, that was what he thought, at the time. He chuckled a tiny bit to himself while thinking on what Isamoto said. She and this Nobuo are both physically active, huh? I could see them becoming a couple, but I digress. He was called up after Isamoto, so he came up front to introduce himself.
"Hello. My name is Akira Kouno. I come from Hiroshima. You could say I'm a little bit of a book worm, though I do work out enough. two of my favorite hobbies are cooking a variety of foods and brewing different kinds of coffee. I could even create a latte, if anybody were to want one." He laughed a bit before continuing. "Of course, I'm not saying that to brag. I just like brewing coffee that much. I hope to one day set up a restaurant. Oh, and I guess I am a bit of an otaku, as I can cosplay a few characters well enough. All that pretty much sums me up."
Once Akira took his seat, it was Jon's turn, whom was not quite paying attention, aside from listening to Nobuo. With a silent huff and a roll of his eyes, he went up front and leaned on the clean chalkboard. "I'm Jonathan Takeda, and I'm not related to Nobuo. At least, I don't think so. Anyway, I was born in Memphis, Tennessee, over in the United States, so that explains why my first name is not Japanese. As for what I like to do, it's pretty much work out, swim, craft, and other things. That's pretty much it." He went back to his seat.
Last, but not least, it was Aiko's turn. Akira was considering all this getting more interesting with each person. What did the lovely Aiko have to say, though?
-----
Etsuko noticed the nervousness coming from Murakami, which told her it was best to leave her be. It was her turn to come up front, anyway, so the blonde did so and introduced herself with a smile that is rumored to be contagious. "Hi! I'm Etsuko Sasaki! I originally lived in Nagasaki, but came here a few weeks ago. I love making new friends, singing, knitting, and animals! I even enjoy helping people out. So, don't be afraid to ask for any, okay?"
Etsuko walked back to her desk, keeping her grin while remembering the reason for being in this small town. She wanted to be away from Nagasaki, away from where the loss of people she was close to occurred. The third and last person to be called upon to speak in front of class was Murakami.
Modifying both posts so that it makes sense.)))
Murakami stood up and walked stiffly to the board. "I'm Murakami. I'm from Okinawa, and I hope to get along with everyone!" She walked back and sat down too hard. Her butt hurt a little from the impact. She made it though, and didn't run out of the classroom. She was shaking pretty badly though, too bad to continue knitting, so she just sat there, focusing on her current work, and not on the many eyes undoubtedly on her back. It was getting too big for her to wear...
Aiko listened to the new guy, but wasn't really listening until he said cosplaying. He eyes focused on him while he said otaku. She was last, so she stood up. "I am Aiko Azumi. I enjoy cosplaying and anime, while also enjoying the occasional sport. I do hope we can all become friends." It was monochrome, and almost clockwork sounding, but she didn't care. She had thinking to do, mostly deciding on when to corner this Akira character and question him. Mostly on what genre, but definitely on what kind of character he can cosplay as properly.
----
Akira grinned a little from hearing Aiko. She cosplays, too, huh? Probably more than me, since I don't go out often. I wonder what kind of coffee she likes, or if she prefers tea?
After the announcements for the day, homeroom was free to move about the classroom. Nobuo remained seated where he was, since he had no idea what to do. Jon, on the other hand, glared daggers at him prior to looking through the window, again. Akira looked through his notes to make sure he got it right. After that, he brought out his bible to read as he waited for the bell.
((Okay, this is shorter than what I originally intended, but I guess this is a good trade-off before the next period, where I plan on Nobuo and Isamato having the same PE class.))
Yoshi was looking at the lyrics he wrote. He knew they would be rejected by the producer, so he isn't even going to bother showing them to him. But still... He wanted to. His thoughts were interrupted by a loud yell. He and everyone else looked up to see that another new student, Etsuko, Yoshi thought her name was, has being hugged by Murakami, another new student. It was kind of awkward, and when Murakami realized that she was being watch, she ran out of the room, slamming her shoulder into a desk on the way out. There was silence for a few seconds before several other students, mostly girls, walked up to Etsuko, asking her what that was about. Yoshi decided to listen in, nothing else was going on.
When the teacher let them mingle, Aiko got up and walked over to Akira. "You said that you were enjoy cosplaying and anime. I was wondering what kind you are into." She made sure that she was very blunt about it. She noticed he had a bible in his hand, but only put noticed that because he had to look up from it.
Isamoto leaned back in her chair, placing her legs on her desk to move it like a makeshift rocking chair. She's gonna need some friends, but she doesn't know anyone, and doesn't want to get someone like... Him again. She put her legs off the desk and sat in the chair normally before swinging her head forward, making her hair go in front of her face, which she caught and started undoing the bows she put in earlier that morning then re-tying them in different places that changed the way she looked. It always looked pretty, but in a different fashion. She was so used to doing it, she didn't even need a mirror.
-----
Akira glanced up to see Aiko at his desk. He grinned a bit in amusement. Well, that was fast. Shrugging, he said, "Oh, no genre in particular, though I do enjoy count romantic comedies, Mecha animes, and pretty much anything with a good love story, or action, or both." Chuckling before speaking again, he continued. "As far as what I cosplay as, I'm acutally mediocre at most characters, though I can play the part of Dearka Elsman, from Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny, well enough."
Nobuo took a glance at Isamato and saw how she still looked beautiful despite placing her hair bows in different places. He honestly smiled a little, but only briefly, and turned his gaze forward, again. He could not afford a distraction, in his opinion. At any rate, he was asoldier, not a civilian. Any attachment would only serve as a distraction. It was not like he could get attatched to her... or could he? He did not know why, but his heart raced some. Nobuo usually could determine the condition, yet this was not on the battlefield, so he could not figure it out for the life of him. Having never been exposed to civilian life, before, that was to be expected.
Aiko nodded. She wasn't really into that kind of stuff, but knows what the Gundam series is generally about. Several of her old friends used to watch it... "I usually watch stuff like Shuffle, and Nyan Koi. As for cosplaying, I enjoy cosplaying as several different characters, but the most prominent one would be Eucliwood Hellscythe, from Is This A Zombie?. I usually wear the armor she wears over this dress while doing so."(first image in her character page) Just about everyone at the school already knows what she was into, which was harem, yet they love her anyway... Not that she cares, but it confuses her sometimes.
The bell rang, which told them it was time to head to their first class. Etsuko and Yoshi both had choir as their first period, where they could refine their singing skills. Once there, and the bell rang for class to begin, the choir teacher went over some things all the students in class would be doing, including concerts at the auditorium, plus the sponsoring of a talent show. With that out of the way, the teacher told everyone he would be evaluating everyone's singing voices over the course of the week to determine some things in the future.
First up was Etsuko, who walked on over to the front with a soft smile. She was told to sings parts of two songs of her choice from the list, along with other instructions, then it was time. The first song, a jazz one, was a bit cheerful, and Etsuko matched the required part to the last note, sounding a bit like Rin Kagamine while doing so. The second was also a jazz one, yet it was more mellow. Both times, she sang the required parts with skill, her voice having seemingly no fault. nearly the whole class was impressed and clapped in applause.
Once again, Etsuko managed to bring smiles to people's faces through her singing. "Thank you!" After that, she sat down next to Yoshi, whom she wondered what sort of voice he had while singing. She was about to find out, as it was the green-haired boy's turn.
-----
Akira nodded in response to what she said. "Never heard of those animes, or even Eucliwood Hellscythe. I'll probably check the animes out, sometime. The Bell rang before he could say anything else. It was time to head to World History, which both he and Aiko had together. Once there, and the bell rang, they were introduced to what they would be studying for the semester. Most of it, Akira already knew, yet felt it did not hurt to learn something new from it. He took his notes and once the class was freed up for doing whatever, he went on over to Aiko and asked her, "Do you drink coffee, by any chance? I've learned a lot about brewing different varieties of it up." Shrugging, he added, "Eh, not to brag, or anything."
-----
It was PE time, Nobuo and Isamato sharing the same physical education teacher. The man giving instructions had quite the muscle tone which exuded toughness. With the introductions out of the way, including the different activities in the future, swimming being one of them, he brought out the gym uniforms for everyone.
Below is a picture with the guys' gym uniform:
This one contains the girls' gym uniform:
Everyone was pretty much left to do what they wanted once everyone had been sorted out. Nobuo decided to check out the track and field area, which had been set up just for that day. People were having a go at the different events, already. The one he decided to try first was the shot put. He picked up the heavy ball prior to positioning himself properly. Then, once he had it just right, he threw it hard, making it land just barely away from the line where the shot put area ended, which amazed his fellow peers. They all began to shout things like, "I don't believe it: he maxed out his score on the first throw!" "Just how strong is he?" "None of us can top that!"
Nobuo simply walked on to the track to have at the 100 meter dash. His feet were in position as he silently waited for people who would compete with him there. Whoever wanted to race with him was welcome to.
----
Jonathan walked on over to his first class, Physics, once the bell rang to do so. Along the way, people gave him glares. He did not mind, at first, yet he did once he was tripped by a fellow classmate at the room he was supposed to be at. He would have punched the guy in the face had he not noticed a pair of innocent blue eyes from a purple-haired girl whom was also in the room for Physics. The moment he spotted her was when he stopped, his fist behind him while he turned from angry to surprised. If he followed through on his punch to the boy who tripped him, it would have been in front of someone who radiated innocence. That main reason ended up the primary motivation to lower his fist and say to the jerk, "I'd be careful who you mess with, if I were you."
Almost everyone else was seated, so he picked the nearest open desk, which happened to be in front of her. Jon's heart raced a little, but he did not know why, at first. Could it be that he just developed a crush on that girl? What was her name, anyway?
Aiko smiled a little. "No, I actually drink tea. I make tea very well, although my favorite isn't really liked by my family." Aiko was amused at the odds that they were in the same class twice in a row. "Perhaps we can try out each other's favorite later?" Aiko was unsure if he would make a good friend if he couldn't make time for a cup of tea. Shouldn't be too hard, he does drink coffee, which Aiko can admit that she has never actually had any before.
Isamoto finished putting her bows on for the fifth time by the time the bell rang. She smiled. PE... This is where she shone. Everywhere else was boring, but here, she could really be looked up too. She sat back when they walked into the yard, seeing what the small school had, before watching a heavy ball fly across the field. Her jaw dropped. She has never seen someone throw it that far. She watched the boy, who she believed was in her homeroom class, walk over to the track and take position and waited. He wants to race... Isamoto realized. She knew that she was the only one who would really give him any form of challenge. She looked at another student. "Hey, tell us when to start, 'kay?" Without waiting for his approval or not, she got into position next to him. "What's your name?" She asked right before the student shouted 'Go!', which she hoped threw him off as she sped off, going as fast as she could. While something so sly wouldn't work in tournaments, it was perfectly fine in this setting. Plus, she felt that she would need every advantage she could get against this guy.
Murakami sat there until class ended, then quickly walked back and got her bag. She was happy that the class was empty by the time she arrived, and quickly got to her next class, physics. She had calmed down, mostly, by the time she arrived, as no one in her last class was in her current one. She sat down and started knitting, humming quietly to herself. The bell was about to ring when she felt someone looking at her, and she glanced up ever so slightly. It was a tough looking kid, and he looked like he was about to punch another kid in the face when he stopped to look at her, then lowered his fist. Did he stop because of me? Murakami thought, freezing. Well, at least I accidently stopped a fight... She thought, continuing her knitting until the bell rang. She put away her stuff, and noticed that the kid that almost punched the other was sitting in front of her. After introductions, where she learned his name was Jonathan, she poked his back. "Um... W-were you really going to hit him?" She was curious, and she wanted to stop further fights in the future.
-----
Etsuko had to hold back laughter while she simply clapped in applause. After all, it was a classroom, not a rock concert. The choir teacher got onto the fangirls for acing out of line and told them to restrain from shouting in the future, much to their disappointment.
The blonde girl heard Yoshi's query and grinned in her sweet way, whispering her answer. "You did great!" Giggling a little, she posed the query, "Do they always react like that, regardless of where? It's kind of funny they'd go bananas in a classroom, to be honest."
-----
Nobuo, trained from the start to keep focus on the task at hand, did not turn his head to answer Isamato's question, instead keeping his eyes forward. He had to admit, the girl was rather swift. Even without being off balance, he was initially behind her in the race. However, he caught up to her halfway through the 100 meter dash. The race ended in a tie. It was then, stepping in front of her, he answered her query.
"Nobuo Takeda. You're Isamato, right?"
-----
Jon froze when he was poked. Was that Murakami? He lowered his head to where he stared at his desk, not at all confident enough to look in the girl's eyes. "Yeah, I was... I'm not exactly used to being passive. That may come with time."
Yoshi nodded. "Yeah, pretty much all the girls where I'm from act like that. I actually think that they're to loud. I like it when they don't scream a lot..." Yoshi said, looking at the ground. He had a pretty good reason. He didn't mind it when it was a concert, because that's the point, but when it was outside of one, he just wanted to be left alone.
Isamoto stood there, catching her breath. She couldn't believe that they tied. I mean, seriously, she had been in competitions since she was twelve, and then this guy ties her? He has to have been training since around that age as well, at least. He stepped in front of her.
"Nobuo Takeda. You're Isamato, right?"
Isamoto smiled. "Yeah, that's me. How long have you been working out? I mean, I've been running since I was twelve, and you tied me." She then looked at the shot put area, then looked back. "And you had to have been working on more then running, to have that amazing arm strength." Knowing how hard it was just working on you're lower body and agility, he had to have been working on his entire body strength and dexterity in order to keep up a body like that.
Aiko nodded, putting the information on her phone. "I believe tomorrow after school is fine for me. I know a cafe. Just bring the drink in a travel mug. They'll let you reheat it at the cafe." She didn't show it, but she was somewhat curious as to what this 'touchy subject' was.
----
Etsuko nodded when Yoshi said his fans were too loud. "Yeah, it does sound annoying. I don't think I'd be able to handle a similar scenario." Waiting until the teacher gave them free time, the blonde, half-Italian girl fidgeted with her fingers while she asked Yoshi, "Um... you know of that jazz club here in town, not far from this school? I... kind of work there, and... maybe you can check it out sometime?" Why am I all of a sudden nervous? I can't even look at him!
----
Nobuo shrugged at what Isamato said. "I don't recall a day where I wasn't doing something strenuous. I've been building up my strength, speed, flexibility, reflexes, and other physical feats for as long as I can remember." I can't tell her what all I was involved in. That is classified information. If she were to get a hold of such information, she would have to be detained, or some other measure would have to be taken.
----
Akira grinned wider. "Nice! So, where is this cafΓ©?" He was genuinely excited about the whole thing, even though it did not show. This was truly a step up from spending each day alone.
Yoshi frowned a little. Why was she so shy all of a sudden? He shrugged. "I know of it. I'd love to go. How about..." He paused. He'd say tomorrow, but he has a rehearsal that day. "In a couple of days? I got something going on tomorrow, but I'm free Tuesday."
Isamoto raised her eyebrows. "Every single day... Do you even have a life?" She said it as a joke, but wasn't quite sure what kind of reaction he would say. Maybe he didn't? Maybe he put his whole life into making his body perfect... For what? What was it that was making him so driven towards being strong? "Why do you work so hard? Were you a slave or something?"
(not much to post with Murakami, so with your next post just have the bell ring or something, okay?)
One of their classmates suddenly ran up to them and said, "You two do look cute together!"
Nobuo tilted his head sideways. "What do you mean by that? Sorry, but I never heard the term 'cute', or even that statement, before, so I don't know what either means." Other students laughed at what he said, which made him even more curious. "Why are they all laughing?" Before he could get his answer, the bell rang. Changing back into regular school clothes, he headed for history class.
----
Akira nodded, then the bell rang. Once at History class, he found Nobuo there. Nobuo sat down in a desk close to the front, eyes forward while he said nothing. Akira decided to sit next to Nobuo, since he figured the military nut could use a friend. "You're Nobuo, right?"
Nobuo nodded. "Yes, I am."
Akira thought about something to say, coming up with, "The way you talked about yourself and stood, you seem to be really into military stuff, huh?"
"You could say that."
"I see. Ever go to a firing range?"
"Frequently."
----
Etsuko made it to math class without much difficulty, noting that Murakami was in there, as well. sitting next to her, she brought out a knitting project she has been working on and started knitting after the teacher said what he said to the class. It was not long before the bell for lunch.
----
Nobuo, Akira, Jon, and Etsuko each went to their lockers to bring out their lunches then went to one of the designated lunch rooms, basically one of the empty classrooms. Akira sat next to Nobuo, whom simply sat and ate. Shrugging, the blonde guy began eating, as well. Jon decided to sit by himself, using his books as a way to block other students' view. Finishing his lunch quickly, he brought out his knitting equipment before getting to work on a shirt with blue and purple horizontal stripes. He did not know Murakami's size, yet he had a good idea what it was. For some reason, he felt some sort of attachment to her. Little did he know, Murakami ended up right next to him. If she were to notice him knitting, he would be so embarrassed at his secret concerning his hobby being revealed to a girl.
Etsuko found Yoshi in the room, deciding to sit right behind him, despite the fangirls around them staring and gossiping. Among other things she heard, one of those fangirls had mixed feelings about the blonde being so close to the green-haired boy, a combination of jealousy and adoration at the possibility of them becoming a couple. Etsuko tried to ignore it, believing it best not to contribute to that gossip by talking to them about it. It made her feel awkward, though, even as she silently ate.
Nobuo noticed Isamato coming into the room and smiled a little. Somehow, he was happy around her, but why? What could be the reason? He tried not to think about it while he ate his vegetable soba. Akira noticed Aiko coming in, as well, causing him to wonder where she would sit, even though he tried not to look at her.
Isamoto blushed at their peer's comment, then started laughing with the rest of them when Nobou asked what did cute mean. Before anyone could say anything, the bell rang, and they quickly went to class. Next was lunch, were Isamoto went to her locker and got her lunch, dashing out to the roof, where she found someone her age sitting there, setting up her lunch. "Hiya!" Isamoto said, approaching her. She glanced up, blinking a few times. "Hello." She said calmly. She held out her hand. "I'm Aiko Azumi." Isamoto gave Aiko a big grin. "I'm Isamoto Nagami, nice to meet ya!" She sat down next to her new friend.
Murakami wasn't that fast in getting her stuff together, so she waited until everyone left the room. She caught herself staring at Jon, and blushed deeply, looking down. He didn't seem to notice, which was good. When everyone left, she waited a few more seconds before leaving, just to be sure, and walked, timidly, to the designated lunchroom, a classroom. She walked so carefully, by the time she arrived, most of the kids were already there. She walked in carefully and sat down, taking out her knitting stuff. She kept seeing movement to her left, and she carefully sneaked a peek. She saw Jon, knitting. Murakami's eyes widened, then she snapped back to her own knitting, blushing as she started to knit.
Yoshi went and got his food and came back, ignoring the fangirls, and sat down. He started eating when he saw that Etsuko sat down next to him. He smiled, but couldn't say anything with his mouth full. He finished chewing, then noted that something seemed to be bothering her. "Something wrong?"
---
Etsuko heard Yoshi, then jerked her head up. "Hmm? Oh..." She shrugged. "Well, what the those girls around us are saying is kind of awkward. I guess you are used to it, but still." Laughing nervously, she decided to change the subject. "Anyway, besides singing, what do you like to do?"
---
Meanwhile, Akira noticed Aiko going up the stairs that were in the room. Of course... this is where the garden club meets, so it's convenient they have a room with stairs that lead to the roof, where the upper courtyard is. He noticed Nobuo spotting Isamoto going the same direction. "Why don't we go talk to them?"
Nobuo turned his head and nodded. "Affirmative."
The two boys took their lunches and went upstairs. There, they spotted the girls sitting next to each other. Akira spoke, first. "Well, who'd have thought a garden would be up on the roof?" Nudging Nobuo, the two of them sat at a nearby bench close to the girls'. Akira smirked a little, noticing Nobuo's facial expressions. "Nobuo, you could smile a bit more, you know. Don't be so stiff."
Try as he would, Nobuo simply could not muster up an actual grin. His closed-mouth one was more of an embarrassed look than an actual smile. He eventually gave up and reestablished his serious face before continuing eating. At this point, Akira was not smirking towards his new friend and became concerned. "Are you okay, man?"
"Yes, why?"
"Well, it's just that, you look like something's bothering you, or are you always this serious?"
"Probably."
Akira shrugged. "Okay, if you say so." Turning his attention towards Aiko and Isamoto, he said, "I think the Garden Club uses this roof after school, or so I'm told. Who can blame them? It has some decent scenery up here, wouldn't you say?"
Aiko smiled at Akira trying to get the other guy to smile. It was rather amusing, although Aiko couldn't help but feel sorry for the guy. What happened to this guy to make him not want to smile. Her brow furrowed as she thought this. A kid her age has had something happen to him that made it impossible to smile...
Murakami blushed harder. He saw me... He saw me! She couldn't really hear what he was saying, but suddenly regained her composure when he mentioned that his parents were dead. "How dread-" She started saying quietly before stopping, remembering her father. The scars on her back burned ever so slightly at the thought, although the psychiatrist says that it was only a mental thing. She flinched, and curled up slightly, putting her hands on her back.
Yoshi frowned. "Well, uh, I can play the guitar pretty well. And I play a few puzzle games back home, but other then that, singing's my thing." He stopped frowning. "What are you interested in, Etsuko?
Nobuo nodded. "Affirmative."
Akira placed a hand on his chin for a moment. "Now that I think about it, there are at least three other new students around that aren't first years. There's no reason to leave them out. We can try to be friends with 'em, too. The more, the merrier." Looking around, he decided to change the subject. "Hmm... We know Aiko loves to cosplay as Eu Hellscythe, from Is This a Zombie?, and I am capable of cosplaying as Dearka Elsman, from Gundam SEED/SEED Destiny, as for Nobuo..." He pointed towards him. "You remind me of Sousuke Sagara, the male protagonist of Full Metal Panic. You got the voice, appearance, and, of course, the attitude, it seems."
"Who's Sousuke Sagara?"
Akira shrugged. "Eh, I'll let you watch some Full Metal Panic episodes so you can familiarize yourself with him a bit."
"Roger."
The blonde-haired guy next glanced towards Isamoto. "As for you... you look and sound a lot like Haruhi. Which reminds me..." Shrugging again, he stated, "I believe we ought to do an amateur video together, the director being..." He pointed at Isamoto. "And, Nobuo can handle the camera."
Nobuo just finished eating before asking, "How do I do that?"
Turning his attention towards Nobuo, Akira answered the query with, "Kind of like a sniper rifle, Except you don't shoot, and you observe from different angles for different perspectives. Does that make sense?"
"Affirmative."

Jon heard Murakami start to speak when he also noticed her stop. His advanced hearing, which he trained himself to achieve in such a short amount of time, indicated she began to clutch something. This caused him to look in her direction, his face out of hiding, to see her holding her back. "You okay? You're not hurting anywhere, are you?" Without even thinking, he placed a hand on her back to check. Upon touching the shirt, he could feel a bump or two, which left him wide-eyed. He quickly pulled back his hand once he realized it was not a good idea to be touching her. From the way he felt the bumps, though, he knew those had to be scars. "You were abused, weren't you?"

Estuko giggled a little at Yoshi's response. "Hey! Nothing wrong with that!" She thought on her answer, then stated, "Well, aside from singing, I can also swim pretty well, though I was never that competitive. Never understood why many other gals have to go with two-piece swim suits that don't cover much, though, which is why I always wear a decent one-piece suit. Let's see... I do love to dance, and I know some classic ones, at that... Oh! And painting is another one of my hobbies, along with knitting..." Upon completed her response, her smile faltered some at the thought of knitting. She had not given it much thought before, but now the memories were coming back. She began to frown in an expression of sadness. "I... I'm sorry. Some bad memories returned that I'd rather not discuss."
