Introduction
Helvetia is a village on the planet Earth. It's in the middle of the nature, it's surrownded and full of forests, fields, mountains and swamps. Many of the homes are attatched to the trees. A big part of the ground is flooded. Its habitats can be whatever you want - humans, elves, vampires, dragons, nekos, etc. However, ease up on the hybrids.
Plot:
The old governer reached the end of his days. The funeral harboured so much sadness, not only because their respected leader had left them, but now there was no one else to lead them. However, that was about to change.
A new governer took the place. Little by little, the habitats were realizing what a mistake they had made by choosing him\her. (They don't know it in the beginning)
Characters:
Spot 1 - The governor. If you've chosen him/her - congratulations! You've picked the main antagonist! However, I'll be glad if he/she shows the evilness slowly. Also, 'evilness' shouldn't be their only trait. Even the bad guys should be likable, even they need to be complex. (Taken)
Spot 2 - For this one I'll introduse you to my character first - she's a 22-year-old human, who often does silly things and isn't very good at controlling her abilities. This spot is for her younger sibling, who looks older, acts more mature and has a better control over their powers/skills. Their parents will show more pride for this sibling. So, in a nutshell - Their age is less than 22, (and at least 18, if that's okay with you) they're a human, they're powerful, level headed (at least at first glance), taller than 5'1'' and their surname is Valon. Everything else is decided by you. (Taken)
Spot 3 - The hybrid. I'll accept only one hybrid for now. Please, don't slam 100 species in their veins. A mix of two is fine. (Taken)
Spot 4 - The governour's assistant. They don't even have to be evil, they might be forced to be on the bad side! Or maybe, they might turn out to be even more dangerous! You decide! (Taken)
Spot 5 - The mischievous 'criminal'. He loves doing pranks around the whole village. However, this shouldn't stop you from thinking of more things he does. My character, who was introduced in the second spot, is crushing on him, but he's oblivious and in a relationship with Spot 6. (Taken)
Spot 6 - She used to be the assistant of the previous governor. The current governor chose Spot 4 for this position. (Taken)
Spot 7 - Long lost relative of Spot 6. (Taken)
Reservations last for 48 hours. If you need more time, tell me. Otherwise, I won't be waiting for you.
Character sheet
Name:
Age:
Gender:
Height:
Species:
Skills\weapons\abilities:
Appearance: (NO REAL LIFE FACE CLAIMS! Anime (or digital art for the species which don't have anime pictures) is fine.)
Personality:
Notice the lack of a "History" section. Do not reveal your character's background in their profiles! I want them to be revealed in the progress of the story. Also, don't slam their backgrounds in the very begining! I want to see their personalities in action first! I don't want to witness again promising characters, who immediately start off with depressed scenes because of the loss of their parents, or something from the sort. I want them to show their personality traits first, THEN the reasons for those traits.
Rules:
- Balance between your character's strengths and weaknesses.
- Write in third person only!
- I won't mind a few mistakes, but I'll be glad if you take care of the grammar, spelling and layout.
- Don't overdo the profiles and posts. Fancy letters and great details are not neccessary. I would even say that the abnormal details are boring, so control your urges for that.
- Make your character(s) interact with the rest as soon as possible.
- If you want to leave after the beginning of the story, make your character leaves, you kill them off, or choose someone to adopt them.
- If you want to leave the story before you submit your character, tell me!
- In case you've missed this, I'll write it again - do NOT add backgrounds in your sheets! At least not before the history revelation.
- No more than 2 characters for each! At least not for now.
- Let's not make more than 4 different storylines between the characters. By storylines I mean groups. It's annoying when the characters are so separated, there are 1000 different dialogues. It's confusing and boring to follow all of them! The storylines and groups might change often, but let's keep the separation in 4 groups at most. I would be glad if in most of the time we keep the group number of 3, and we reach 4 only when it's neccessary.
- Romance and sexual interractions are a part of the story, but don't make them more important than the main conflict! Otherwise, choose whatever you want - straight, homosexual, bi, unrequitted, unresolved sexual tension, on and off relationships, friends with benefits, maybe even on very rare occasions - sexual harrasment. However, have in mind that age matters. Let's not have grown up people hitting on 17-year-old (or younger) kids.

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 4 authors
Glancing at the Governors Assistent who was basically about to fall down the stairs with all the books now added to her arms, Beth sighed and smiled at the lady.
"Here, let me help seeing as my sister is busy." Beth said while grabbing the three books her sister had given back to the Assistent. She had probably been about to help the women when Beth had turned up and had only said no because of it.
"My names Elizabeth by the way, but everyone calls me Beth." She said while sending the women a smile as she walked towards the governors office, "What's your name?" She said pleasantly, glancing back over her shoulder to look at the women's before glancing at the university.
Maybe her and Leigh could hang out later, they never really got to do it much anymore with Leigh being at university.
The kitsune's ear perked up after a few moments, and she stepped over towards Beth curiously. After staring at her, and sniffing the air once or twice, her other ear perked up as well.
"Are you and your sister of a magical bloodline? She practices magic, and you smell of a shapeshifter. Don't worry, no normal people can smell anything different. Only those similar to myself can pick that up just by being around you." The kitsune tapped a finger on her nose and laughed, her nine tails fanning out behind her.
"Oh, stop with that look! It's not like you reek of necromancy or anything." Akihana was continuing to make herself laugh, almost rolling on the floor at this point.
"Are you and your sister of a magical bloodline? She practices magic, and you smell of a shapeshifter. Don't worry, no normal people can smell anything different. Only those similar to myself can pick that up just by being around you." Beth stared as the women tapped a finger on her nose and laughed, suddenly nine tails fanning out behind her. Her eyes were wide as she blinked owlishly at Akihana, no one had ever said she smelt like a shapeshifter through it could be possible.
"Oh, stop with that look! It's not like you reek of necromancy or anything." Akihana was continuing to laugh, looking almost to the point of breaking down on the floor in a fit.
"Uhh, ya. Leigh's is an air bender and your right, I am a shifter. I take it you are a Kitsune if your tails aren't anything to go by." Beth said as she tried to rule in her surprised expression,"I must admit I am glad I don't smell of necromancy, that would probably smell of rotting flesh and corpses, not a very pleasent smell..." Beth wrinkled her nose at the thought before a curious look filled her eyes, "Now that I think about it, what do I smell like?" She asked, curious about how she smelt and a little awed that the women's could pick it up, because as well as her shifter smell there would also be her own unique smell which Akihana would have to seperate.
"More often than not, creatures that shift or have aspects of others often just smell like what they are. For example, even humans can tell I smell like a fox. As a shifter, you should smell like whatever you shift into." The kitsune took another sniff of the girl, taking some time to think about her findings.
"There's a hint of an almost.. poultry-like tone, but much too gamey to be a farm animal. Do you shift into some sort of small bird, like a blackbird, pheasant or crow? Foxes hunt rabbits and sheep, not birds, so don't be threatened if I was right." Akihana's face was painted with a smirk, she amuses herself so much at times.
"So I'm curious, what are these books for anyway? I mean their huge!" Beth said as she approached the six giant books sitting on the table, running her hand across the covers and spines as she smiled at Akihana, Maybe these books would explain why the governor was in the forest earlier today but than again maybe not.
Beth nodded, then inquiring about the books.
"Those are records of forestry and magic in the area. Jishua is extremely interested in the forest, and he wanted me to get these so he could figure out what was happening here. Several previous governors have wanted to deforest the area, so he wants to know why and why not." Akihana glanced at the covers of each massive tome
"These seem to span several decades. I guess he's doing some serious homework."
"I remember my dad telling me about it when he found out I went to the forest all the time, I guess he hoped it would frighten me and make sure I wouldn't enter the forest again, but the story only served to intrigue me." Beth turned to smiled at the Kitsune.
"It was said that long ago, this village was governed by a demon. The demon had learnt about the power of the woods and wanted to suck up all it's power for itself, so it hid itself by becoming the governor and gaining the trust of the people. It finally convinced them to let it destroy the forest and it did, slowly but surely people watched as the trees were cut away and the demon grew stronger. Once the forest was gone however bad things started to happen, the things the forest protects us from came through and began to eat babies and murder people, the people grew scared but the demon refused to do anything as he didnt care for the village. However one day, a young women arrived in the village and the demon fell in love with her beauty, she drew the demon back towards the destroyed forest. She drew him towards the border of our village and when he crossed it to try and follow the maiden, he vanished. The forest regrew faster, stronger and denser than it had last time and some say that their is a difference about the forest, whether it be the demons evil magic or lost souls wondering the trees nobody knows. Everyone just agreed that the forest should never be destroyed which is why with all the previous governors trying to cut it down again, none succeeded."
Beth finished her story as she closed the old book, a light spray of dust bursting from the pages.
"That's what I'm wondering," he responded to the talking cat, "If the forest is producing magic, or possibly even souls, where's it all going?" The cat yawned and squirmed in his arms.
"When you think of souls," she licked her lips, "You think of dead people, right? But of course, the soul stays with the body for a couple days, but what's such a pain is how people bury their dead, and the soul goes to waste." The cat frowned, "I'm no dog, so I'm not spending all night digging them up."
"Yes, but that has nothing to do with the forest... unless..." Jishua pondered a hypothesis for a moment. It was a dumb thought, but it made him wonder. It only made sense if somehow, something tragic happened. It was a hypothesis, but it was quite the stretch.
Finally arriving back at his office, he let Jikorin jump out of his arms as he invited himself in, only to find his assistant there, presumably with his request fulfilled, but what he didn't expect was the woman he met in the woods. Even Jikorin wasn't expecting her, the same woman who she tricked into thinking she was a stray. Jikorin decided it was best to nonchalantly hide under the Governor's desk and out of sight.
"Well then, ladies," the Governor told them, if his presence was not already known, "Akihana, I see you brought what I asked for," she glanced at the woman she was with, "And a friend as well..." Jishua forgot to tell her to try and keep his actions related to the forest as a secret, as it would bring some political uneasiness if the public were to find out and start suspecting he was contemplating the cutting of the forests, unlike many of the Governors before who had little hesitation when it came to that decision.

"Haha, hay governor. We seem to be running into each other a lot today." Beth smiled sheepishly at the man before continuing, "I was just helping Akihana out with the books and i was..." She trailed off as she spotted the flash of a tail, following it she noticed the shifter cat from this morning. "I should be on my way now, moms probably wondering where i am." Beth said nervously, puling her gaze back from the cat towards the man, sending him a polite nod before heading towards the door.
pausing at the door, her hand resting on the handle she turned to face the governor, "I never did ask you name..." trailin off she waited for the man to reply to her hidden questions.
Sitting at his desk, he then started looking through each of the books. "This is certainly a nice selection," he told Akihana. One was a yearly survey of the forest 100km around Helvetia, but what it surveyed, the Governor would have to find out for himself. Sure it would make sense for a community in and surrounded by forest would hold interest, but surveys are expensive and the only need for them would have been for economic development, which the rather closed community was rather uninterested in. Helvetia was always a special case, being smack dab in the middle of a rather mystical land, and was especially full of various creatures. Many of which were quite in tune with nature, like fairies, nymphs and whatnot, whom seem to come and go quite often, so to document the exact number of residents in the village was difficult in itself. It was difficult to find the real economic interests behind such a laid-back community. For most, even many of the humans, life was simply about living it.
Though, what was for certain was the interest the communities outside had in the forest and the township. Helvetia could easily become one of the richest logging towns in history, as lumberjacks could come in from all over the continent to cut down what was essentially brown gold, and the village would prosper. It was simply that the residents just didn't allow it. Jishua, being an outsider, could easily understand their perspective, but at the same time, he wanted to keep the trust of the public. His campaign was all about keeping their trust, but at the same, fulfilling the wants of everybody, which was quite appealing in the rather diverse community of Helvetia. Though, the Governor knew very well that it was blind to think there is a middle ground. But it wasn't blind to search for one, and if he could uncover the secret of the magical forest, perhaps he'd find that there was more than gold to be found.
"I really appreciate the effort, Akihana," the Governor told her, "Although, it probably was a simple task for a Kitsune like yourself to pick out what was best for me, isn't that right?" He proceeded to flip through the oldest book, it's worn bindings nearly falling apart out of time and misuse.
Akihana felt like his tone was similar to someone praising a dog that just learned to sit or roll over, but she didn't seem to mind much; she was actually a bit flattered from his comments anyway.
"W-Well, the only hard part was carrying the books, after all..." Her face flushed with a subtle, almost unnoticeable shade of pink.
"AGAIN!" The professor shouted.
Leight raised her shaking arms and blasted an attack at a machine with a pointer, which barely moved.
"Too weak! Do it again!"
Leight kept shooting attack after attack. Some times it was so strong, the room would be filled with a storm and the machine would be on the verge of breaking. Sometimes it was so weak, nobody could tell if she did anything. She was never even close to the golden middle.
"I need break!" Leight panted.
Then there was a moment of silence, which was broken only by Leight's heavy breathing. Twenty seconds later the professor said:
"Break is over."
"WHAT? I thought it was ten minutes!" Leight squealed in disbelief.
"Since today we'll be compensating for you being late. If reducing your breaks makes you take your training more seriously, then you should be up for it." The professor replied.
Half an hour in disbalanced attacks later, the Professor ended the class.
"That's it for today. Leight, so far there's nothing but a lack of progression in both discipline and training. You're a twenty two year old adult, yet you still barely control your powers! That is shameful! Do you want to disgrace Helvetia's image in front of the new governour? And what if war happens? Your powers aren't useful in combats either! I want you to put yourself together and show progress tomorrow."
"Yes, sir..." Leight replied quietly. She was exhausted and on the verge of tears.
The girl finally left the university. However, she barely felt any relief. Maybe she should rest in the forest. Maybe she would roll logs down the hill again. Probably her sister Beth would trouble herself and start loking for her again, but Leight needed to recharge physically and psychically before socially interacting with anyone.

Re: Helvetia
So, now the finals are coming and I'll be irregular until the beginning of February. I might post something from time to time, but don't expect much this month.
Re: Helvetia
I think you should use the plot with the forest as a surprise, at least the major part of it. Yet, if it's possible, you can uncover small things from it little by little, so the characters can mix with it perfectly. However, if you need a certin character for the plot and if the author of this character doesn't mind this, uncover the surprise to this author privately.
Re: Helvetia
Also, nobody's answered as to if they'd wanted to know about the forest's secret yet. I mean, I figured I'd at least explain it so that others could suggest changes if they wanted to, or add on to it in the RP.
Re: Helvetia
Well hopefully all the other characters start coming in soon.
Re: Helvetia
I'm sorry I'm not getting involved very much! With Christmas coming 'round the corner, I've got to help my parents with a lot of stuff. I've had two parties just for birthdays this weekend, and I'm having one on Christmas Eve and two on Christmas it self. I've got a whole lot planned. >.>
I apologize if I'm not being active. I'll try to get up a post tonight or tomorrow, but I'm rather tired and I have plans for tomorrow as well. I'm the complete oldest cousin/niece on my Dad's side of the family and I'm spending most of tomorrow with all my little cousins. Lord have mercy on my soul...

Re: Helvetia
So, I'm thinking of erasing Spot 7. If there's anyone who wants it, tell me immediately!
Also, is there anyone who wants Spot 2? If not, I'll take it and the story shall be continued!
Re: Helvetia
Also, sorry for breaking one of the rules of the RP, I'm just a sucker for detail. Although, I do believe that any unneeded detail should be left out, but any detail that retains relevance, such as the reasoning behind a characters motives, such as miner's future motives, should be alright, right?

Re: Helvetia
Don't worry, I'm setting it up so that it can be done even without the Governor actually submitted yet

My eyes just widened.
Wow. Much hot. Very smooth. So drool. Such anime.
Wha... what have I become! ?
-snivels in a corner-
I.. I reached that level on the otaku scale.
And I think I'm ok with it. xP
Now, to continued with my CS. Sorry for interrupting.
