Ravus doesn't define himself by appearances, he holds a general apathy in regard to fashion and merely views clothes as a necessity. To trap in heat, chase away the frost, or materials that are easy to move around in, etc. He hardly manages his hair and leaves it in a mess less he tangles a few strands just because. He's a rather tall, lean young man, often donning urban-inspired clothes, often seen unkempt and disheveled, maybe because he's hardly ever still.

H I S T O R Y
Ravus's history is as clear-cut as they come; he'd been born like many that followed, dead from birth and taken from his parents who hadn't known what they'd forsaken him for. He was given a name of letters and numbers he hardly cared to remember and growing up, he'd given himself his own name, his own identity. For years he put up with scientist's, poked and prodded, undergone numerous invasive surgeries all in the name of science. He'd been cursed and blessed with unique "enhanced" abilities that allows him to manipulate his cellular molecules from within to construct weapons from his own body. At current, Ravus prefers the sharp edges of blades and often invokes what appear to be a Katana of sorts when in battle. He also possesses accelerated speed, agility, endurance and a healing factor. He has a high pain tolerance and powerful immune system, however he's susceptible to injury, he isn't bullet proof, and if over exerted his entire nervous system activates a shut-down mechanism in an attempt to preserve him. He's still undergoing various testing as his full range of abilities and weaknesses have yet to be fully detailed.
T H E R O A D S O F A R...
All his life he'd come to understand one thing and one thing only, kill to survive. It'd been ingrained into his structural mark-up, he either wiped out the thing breathing in front of him or endure the worst of hell. He wanted to live, he had no other choice. Just as he was beginning to embrace and even succumb the the very violent"freedom" this life had cursed him with he was suddenly punished for it. Enraged and utterly confused he'd been demoted from his freedom above ground and hauled into the bowls of the Underground. He's been there ever since.

    ⎡ EXP - #X14082 Dialogue - #000000

Freedom tasted like a stray droplet of rain. Smelled of smoke and wet stone with dust swirling in the air. Ravus found a certain appreciation for the brisk late afternoon wind howling through the giant hole on the wall. He gripped at his throbbing side. Blood slipped between his fingers. He couldn't help the bubble of laughter escaping his dry throat. When was the last time he had this much fun?

Just meters from him eclipsed another. A sword master who's gaze equaled his own when it came to raw power. An otherworldly nature. The tip of his blade stained in crimson. The sting of its bite a poignant reminder that he's still alive.

He swung his blade, poised for another run. "You look like a beast from hell." Had to be the crazy look and blood that wasn't his that made him look that way.
"Oh, so he can speak." Ravus said, he spat out blood and staggered to his feet. With a gesture he summoned back Raven's Edge, the blade that'd been knocked to the ground. "I was beginning to think you're mute."

He charged after his dark-haired assailant. The two clashed swords again and again. The echo of metal against metal music to his ears, at least then he couldn't hear the screaming in his head or the feeling of claws scraping against the walls.

With every vibrations that came with a block on the other's part or a follow of parry his inner demon exulted. Fights like these were what he lived for. It wasn't the kill, never the kill, it was the leading up to it. The challenge.

"If you're looking for the security they won't come." Ravus said, swinging his blade in a upwards arch.

The guy looked bewildered. "Gone?" He dodged and sent a swift kick at Ravus' foot.

"I killed them." He wouldn't allow his advance to knock him off balance.

"Better yet." The other drew closer, aiming for the lower left. Ravus turned the edge of Raven blocking what would have been a deep blow at his major organ only to strike with a sudden razor sharp feather. It pierced through the guy's abdomen. Now look who's shedding.

"Call that my ace." Ravus spun just out of reach of the other's grasp, and barely missed a wild swing of his blade.

The guy plunged the tip of his blade into the dirt covered ground, he gripped it with a shaky hand, his gaze pinned at his feet.

Was he gonna spring back up or what? Ravus kept a good few feet back, watching. The feather hit a major artery, there was no walking out of that. Unless he had a healing factor too. If he did then they'd just pick right up where they left off, though they've been at this for more than an hour give or take by the fading light outside.

It was when the sound of feet shuffling their way did he glance up at the only other entrance of the room, the doorless entry gave way to shadows. Were there others in this building? And here he thought it'd been abandoned. Behind him, the secret entrance had yet to be disturbed. He must have shaken them off, the guys that were trailing him. The few that remained.

"This isn't over yet." Ravus sent toward his sword wielding opponent. If he lived for the next fight that is.

Alice crossed her arms. This was dumb, she didn't think she had anything to apologize for. She was right, the boy had attacked her first. Although, Alice had really attacked him, but he was asking for it! He was in their territory! Alice could have saved them all from an attack! But no, Lucy made her apologize and then the dumb jellyfish man did too. Alice crossed her arms, clearly unhappy with this arrangement. Ophie leaped to her defense and Alice hugged her girlfriend, sticking her tongue out at Lucy because she had someone to love and Lucy didn't. "Come on Ophie, let's go somewhere our company will be appreciated." Alice took Ophie's hand and led her out the alternate entrance. Lucy called after them not to go far, then the lioness went back to disciplining the people who had hurt her weird allies.

When they were in the hallway, Alice smelled something weird. She could hear it too, it sounded like men grunting. She narrowed her eyes, wondering where the sound was coming from. "I hear something strange." The bat said and started walking. She was holding Ophie's hand, delicately leading the girl to the other area in the direction the sound was coming in. "It almost sounds like Fey." Alice mused, brushing a strand of pink hair aside. She was really glad Ophie had given her the ponytail holders, "What do the humans call it when two of them pair up together?" Alice asked, turning to look at Ophie with a confused expression on her face. Partner? Was that right? Alice liked the sound of that, she and Ophie were partners in crime.

"Over here!" She threw open the door to find two men sparring. Fey who was dark as night and a white haired man, both wielding swords. "What are you doing?" Alice walked right into the room as though unaware of the danger. "That's stupid you know! You shouldn't fight when we're both on the same side!" If Ophie was worried then Alice didn't hear it. The bat stared down the two, knowing that their stupidity would fill many volumes.

Ophie was reluctant to go, even though it was Alice inviting her. She wanted to wring that damn eel's neck and slice her up and cook her and eat her because she was so annoying with that act of hers! Ophie had an act too, but she gave it up because Alice was more important, Alice was special. That eel was confusing, why did she look like she liked being cut up and sliced? Why did she smile and play cute when she was an evil monster thing that kept saying Alice didn't really like her? Those words were echoing in the spider's ears and it wasn't a fun thing, not really at all. Alice liked her, they were a special thing, Alice was Ophie's and vice versa so why was this stupid eel saying these stupid infuriating things?

"Ophie hears it too." The spider's ears perked up and her gland was itching to start stringing up traps here and there in case something was happening. Either there was fighting or there was a lot of yummy food being eaten and both of which sounded fun to her. "Ophie is suspicious. Let's be careful, Alice." Fey, she didn't like Fey, she hated him because he was dumb but he was fun to hate. She liked fighting with him and him fighting her back and it was just fun in all directions. She hoped to be the one to eventually kill him, but since he had swords, that was going to be a problem. Webs were good, very good, but not against swords they weren't.

Well, she still had her knife-like claws. Ophie decided to drag one against the wall as she followed her favorite bat, enjoying the shrill screech of claw on wall. "We're partners!" The spider giggled, answering Alice's query. Ever since the truck and being hurt by those gross human filth scum things, she and Alice were partners and buddies and would work together! She trusted no one as much as she trusted Alice!

So when Alice decided to break the fight between Fey and the weird white-hair, Ophie laced her gland with her venom and started stringing up traps that'd paralyze if touched, nearly invisible threads that were unnoticeable if you were busy fighting someone with swords. "Listen to Alice, she's smart and knows best!" Ophie said in a sing-song voice, watching Fey in particular. "We should all work together to kill all humans and eels!" The spider made sure to stay at an angle in which she could pull Alice to safety if something bad happened. Every joint was ready to lunge and escape through the window with Alice. No one would take her away from Ophie, because they were partners now, weren't they?

EXP - #X14082 Dialogue - #000000

Who is this girl and where the heck are people coming from? Here he thought this was all restricted and shit. First this dude who looks like he could be a modern samurai and now some pink-haired girl spouting something about same sides? Who's side? Last he checked he was just trying to get his ass out of Underground and as far away as possible from the Lab and the bastards that run the place.

"You know how to get outta here?" If it'll help him escape in one piece he really didn't mind sticking around. If not, what was the point? Then Pink hair was joined by another who announced Pink's name—Alice. Then something about killing humans and eels? What? Humans, did she mean the scientists? Maybe. But eels? Aren't those fish? No time for that. Instead he assessed these two and by the looks it seemed they'd been topside longer. So maybe he had a better chance at making it if he stuck with them. Then he'd go on his own.

"We're not done." Fey said through grit teeth, he spat out blood and pushed to his feet.

"Is that so?" Ravus turned back with a wicked grin. "Though from where I'm standing you look like a dead man."

Fey fixed him with a hard stare. "Looks can be deceiving." Then he sprang forward much like a predator for the hunt. Blade aimed for a direct hit.

Ravus readied for another round. "Alice, get outta here and take your friend with you." He charged after the other guy. "It's about to get hella bloody."

Blades clashed again, the sound of metal on metal echoed off the crumbled walls. Despite earlier hits, Fey showed he had plenty of strength blow after blow. He'd been the challenge Ravus had always craved and for a long time he'd fed off it. The more they parred and evaded, hit and punched and knocked each others blades away only to come at one another with an anger that came from something dark he reveled in every twist and turn. Perhaps they both did.

But the sky was burning and blood was running. He could do this all day but he'd rather be far from any scientists reach. One glance at the door however too much and Fey caught on his distraction and wasn't afried to exploit it either.

Ravus ended up on the floor, blade several meters away.

Towering him Fey smirked, blood and dirt making his face a mess and the curve of his lips only worsened his once poised expression.

"You've been a great contender, I'm afraid this ends here." He rose the tip of his blade for the final hit.

Ravus held a single black feather between his fingers.

"Yeah, I've gotta agree with ya there."

*

Flames devoured the entire room in mere minutes. There was no other way of blocking out the entrance to the Underground. If it'll stop the scientists even for a while it'd buy him some time to make his escape and he planed to make it out by the end of the night.

Alice nodded her head slowly, "Alice knows the way," she said, accidentally using Ophie's conjecture, it seemed to be rubbing off. Ophie came in then and jumped on her, they were partners after all. Although Alice was pretty clueless so she didn't realize that this partners thing meant love, she wasn't the kind of being that could understand such a complex emotion after all. Maybe someday she would truly understand it, but Alice was only taught a very few range of emotions and was slowly expanding her's. Happiness and patience were two she had yet to build the mental capacity to retain such things. "We can kill the eel later," Alice said, her head spinning from so many activities.

There was some sort of monologue between Fey and the stranger. It was almost an action movie of sorts, or at least, that's what Alice would have thought had she ever seen one. Fey's death didn't really have any effect on her, the two had always been at odds anyways. What did strike her as odd, however, was the seeming disappearance of the body almost as soon as the explosion sounded. Perhaps the body had been knocked aside? Alice didn't know. She didn't have time to think about that though, the room was burning, the heat apparent. "Come on!" Alice grabbed Ophie's hands. How did the man know her name? She wondered. She glanced back at the stranger, untrusting of the new character.

Alice had forgotten about the others, she led Ophie and the sword wielding stranger out, only to see that Lucy had ushered the others into the snow, no doubt smelling the fire. She had the scientist and Vittoria, as well as someone else, a girl with mint colored hair and eyes that were odd. One was red, one was black, Alice thought it was sort of neat. "I've managed to get us a van," the scientist said, no doubt Lucy forced him to find them a car. What pulled out seemed more like a small bus though, but it looked comfy and Alice would do anything to get out of the cold. "We found another sword guy!" Alice called to the others. Lucy turned to look at them, relief in her eyes at the sight of the weird partners. Then her gaze became scrutinizing as she looked at the man. She nodded in approval though and gestured towards the bus, telling them all to get in.

What the hell is this eel they keep talking about? Then Alice was reaching for the other girl and running from the inferno. Ravus naturally followed. Alice's features became a mixture of suspicion and mistrust maybe. Who knows? He didn't care to ask. Eventually they were out of the building and at the blast of frost and cutting winds he chuckled. Nice. Out at last. There was a lady busy with getting others out as well, what is going on? Oh and great, more scientists. Instinctively his hand readied to draw only when this scientist mentioned a means of escape he hesitated. Wait, she's helping? What? They weren't the only ones, apparently others were escaping via bus. Shocker. Unless this was a trap. Would Alice and her friend go through all this trouble just to risk capture again?

He was introduced as 'sword guy.' What a ridiculous description. He tsked but kept his guard and at the scientist he merely held her regard unflinchingly. She gave a curt nod of acceptance and gestured toward the mode of transport. He had no choice but to follow through if this was the only card in play. Yet he wasn't entirely on board with how nearly effortless his escape particularly had been. That was a flag he couldn't ignore. So, let everyone else aboard first, just in case it was a trap he'd kill the culprit.

"Why is a scientist helping a monster?" He wasn't boarding if it meant back in the Underground. He'd be better off finding his own means of escape, it was never wise working with the enemy. Then again she hadn't recognized him, had she so she would have shot him down or tried to subdue him unless the bus was the trick.

Ophie made sure to keep a hand on her special Alice in case something dangerous and bad happened, then decided to spectate the fight because it was entertaining and it wasn't as if she would be able to do anything to stop it anyways. The new sword man said something to Alice about knowing a way out and Ophie wanted to web his eyes shut because Alice was her special Alice and it made Ophie feel insecure and uncomfortable if anyone else spoke to her. Still, he remained silent, clinging close to her favorite succubus. Just remembering the eel was annoying, that damn eel kept saying stupid stuff about how Alice didn't actually care about her, how annoying! "Ophie wants to tear the eel in half!" The spider hissed, clicking her teeth with dissatisfaction.

In the end there was a fire, an explosion, and Fey seemed to have lost the fight, with the new sword person winning and claiming victory. Ophie felt a little strange inside about it. She hated Fey, she always hated Fey, but she really enjoyed and had fun hating Fey and had fun arguing with Fey and making Fey argue back at her and be mean. It was fun and Ophie would miss it. Would she still be able to enjoy hating this new sword person? The spider shrugged and made sure to keep close to her special Alice. And then Vittoria and Qing Yu was there and everyone else was there and Ophie saw the bus and Lucy and were they about to move again? "What do you call yourself, sword guy?" Ophie asked the new person curiously. "Also Alice belongs to Ophie, okay?"

But then she heard that stupid annoying voice pipe up, ringing in her ears, making Ophie feel like stabbing her ears off. "But bats eat spiders, silly! She doesn't actually care about you!" That eel was talking again and the spider felt like doing a whole lot of horrible things to her but she knew the eel would enjoy it. She was seated next to her "siblings" in the bus and Ophie wished they all never even came in the first place. "Alice is special!" Ophie took her bat by the wrist and pulled her into one of the seats, letting her take the window as she sat in the aisle to protect Alice from that eel who was definitely way too scary and mean. "Does Alice want blood now? Ophie can web everyone's eyes!" No one was allowed to see their sacred ritual after all.

The girl went on to question him. He didn't care if she knew or not, but it was better than the alternative. "Ravus." He registered her strange third-person speak, how childish, also her name, Ophie. So Ophie liked Alice, she practically clung to her as if she were to lose her. They went on the bus without question. But he wasn't so easily swayed.

"Where is this bus going?" If it was back to the lab he'd rather risk the terrain on foot and get along by his own means than going back He'd never go back. He rose a brow at the white coated lady. She better start answering, he wasn't gonna stand out here all day.

Alice wasn't sure if she liked the snow yet. It was cold and wet and it went inside her boots, making her toes feel cold as well. No, Alice decided, she hated the snow. If she never saw snow again it would be far too soon. The white powder would look much better decorated in red. Whose blood could she spill though? Not Ophie, the spider was precious to her. Maybe that little slithering eel, yes, that would be nice, Ophie would probably agree to it as well. Red was such a pretty color, almost as much as pink. There were others they could kill too, Alice hoped, if Lucy hadn't put them under her protection. Lucy was scary, the lioness was fiercely protective of those she had taken under her paw.

Alice followed Ophie on the bus, that eel was there along with two of the others. "That's not true!" Alice yelled at the eel, swiping for her, but Ophie pushed Alice into the window seat and sat beside her. Alice shook her head, "no, I'm not hungry right now." Maybe later she would take blood from the spider. "I wonder where the bus is gonna take us." Alice pressed her face against the window, leaving an imprint with her breathe. She remembered doing that with the window in her room. It was funny how an experience could bring opposites together.

Before, Alice had hated Ophie, she was set on trying to redeem herself but now, Alice believed that the humans didn't deserve it. Except for the scientist man that was making the serum for them to keep them alive. Inside of the truck, the two of them had been at each other's throats but now they were stuck like glue. The experience of being tortured had brought the two of them together. Alice rubbed her head affectionately against Ophie. "I love Ophie," Alice didn't really know what love entailed, but she believed it to be true.

Lucy was cross with these people and now, with the imminent danger of them possibly being discovered, Lucy made the scientist find them a getaway car. He came with a bus big enough to hold all of them and Lucy made everyone get inside, including the crew that had tried to kill Alice. Yes, Lucy was taking them along because so many of them had died in the fire. Experiments needed to stick together after all, especially now when there were so few of them. It was them versus humanity, the people who made them having turned against them and locked them up like criminals when they themselves were the ones who held the blame.

Lucy waited outside the building, her sense of impending doom had been correct as the building suddenly caught fire. She wasn't going to wait much longer, Lucy had locked the others inside of the bus with Ambrose as their security guard since he was the only one still left on their side. She also needed to ensure that the human scientist didn't die. Thirty more seconds, that's how long Alice and Ophie had to emerge from the building. She was already counting down when the door opened and the two weird experiments skipped out together with a man. He was unfamiliar in every way, a sword at his side that was clearly unique and stunk of Fey's blood.

No doubt Fey was dead, Lucy was sure that this man had killed him. Oh well, she rolled her shoulders, at least they had gained a few inside the building, so Lucy was going to chalk this up as a win. She narrowed her eyes suspiciously at the man with the sword. Alice and Ophie went along inside the bus and Lucy closed the door behind them, staying out in the snow to face off against this man. He called himself Ravus, it was only polite that she give a name in return. "Lucy," her arms were crossed, she was in a closed stance. Lucy would give nothing away to this man.

"We aren't trusting him, he's our prisoner." Lucy replied, "he's making the serum that keeps us alive." She gestured towards the bottom of the bus, all of the ingredients were in there for him to make it for them. "If you want to live I suggest you join our alliance, otherwise I'd be happy to tear you apart."

Lucy. He'd remember it. She went on to explain that the white coat was a prisoner. Would the brutes and chain-yankers down below let that fly? Maybe, or maybe they'd give enough to search. Which meant the island would soon swarm with them. If he could just get a boat or something he'd be well on his way. Shit just ain't never simple.

What Serum? What was that about? Why was this the first time he'd ever heard of it? Was that a gimmick to keep them on lock down? Having the white coat on their side made sense. She almost sounded threatening, he'd give her credit for her bluntness. He chuckled at the image, her attempt at perturbing him hadn't even phased him, in fact it was the complete opposite.

"Pretty and bold, that's my kind of girl." He tightened his grip on Raven's Edge, sinuous energy coiling the blade until it pulsed fully charged and ready for action. He smirked and made a mock bow. "Shall we dance?"

If anything he lived for the challenge. Didn't matter who the opponent was, young or old, human or something else, they engage him, they look worthy enough, he'd give it his all. That's just what life had always been for him, the hunt of an even greater opponent. Like the dude they called Fey. He was fun, exciting.

Ravus wasn't himself if he wasn't up someone's face. If the invitation didn't reach him, he'd seek out a means to stir trouble. It's what he'd been conditioned to, it's all he had going for him. The agony of every wound, the pride with every triumph, was one of the only few reminders that yeah, he's still raging, he's still kicking. As long as he drew breath he'd fight. He wouldn't have it any other way.

Ophie smiled with childish innocence at Alice refuting the horrible eel's words. Yes, it wasn't true at all! That eel was a horrible eel and Ophie didn't like her, Ophie hated her, why wasn't she allowed to kill her? Why did those dumb other people want to protect her? The eel was fine with being cut up anyways, she obviously didn't care, she liked it, so why - yes, that was a problem! Why couldn't Ophie do anything to her? Why did her favorite game of slicing people up not work? It bothered the spider, it did, and she knew she needed to get stronger if she wanted to keep her special Alice safe forever in her web of happiness.

The spider was a little sad that her offer was rejected but she shrugged, she didn't mind it too much. She liked it though, she liked sharing herself with Alice, because it was their sacred special thing of likeness and no one could take that away from them. It was the ultimate way to connect the two of them together forever, right? "Ophie wonders too!" Yes, where else could they go? Could they go and fight the nasty filthy humans? That sounded fun, yes it did, Ophie would love to kill and rip them to pieces! They deserved it, they needed it, those filthy humans that hurted Alice would have to suffer for what they did. "I hope we can go and visit places where we fought humans before, in places not so cold like here!" Yes, here was always cold, but Ophie remembered a place full of pink flowers and leaves and people wearing fancy robes. Japan, yes, that was where she was stationed during the wars of before.

It would be nice to go there and show Alice how pretty and beautiful it - no, no, Ophie had to change the words in her head because no matter how pretty it was, Alice was always even prettier and better and the bestest forever! So when Alice said those wonderful words, Ophie rubbed her nose against her favorite bat's nose to share their affection. "Ophie loves Alice too! Forever and ever! Ophie will always protect you!" She declared, cheeks flaring pink in embarrassment at her words. Ravus was causing a commotion up at the front but Ophie didn't care because she had Alice.

Lilim thought that this whole thing was silly. Sure, it was good to be safe from the humans that made her family cry before but like... isn't it fun to have a little danger in life? Yes it was, Lilim liked it! It was more exciting that way, it was more fun that way. Lilim really did like it when things were fun and when people worried and fretted over her. It was a special thing only for this very special eel, wasn't it? Oh, if only she could trick that idiot spider into torturing her again! That was super fun!

Lilim was squeezed between her brothers, Shun and Slaine and snuggled in happily with them, a happy grin on her face. After teasing the silly lovebirds she decided to lean against Slane and hold Shun's hand, almost wiggling with affection. "I'm scared, I hope these people will be nice to us." Lilim said shyly, avoiding the gaze of the new person but Lilim wondered if there was a way to make him bully her so her siblings would protect her again. Wouldn't that be fun?

The bus was warm whereas the outside was cold. Alice wasn't sure what happened, there was blood dripping from her forehead, making her vision fuzzy. Her little black wings fluttered every so slightly, not enough to fly, just enough to make her remember that they were there. Alice tried to sit up, her head feeling boggled. An explosion had set off somewhere outside, the forest in front of them burning in impressive hues. It was a dying fire now, smoldering embers and trees turned to ash. Their bus was flipped upside down. Alice was dangling from the ceiling, the seat belt having kept her alive. Most of the others were dead, all laying at varying degrees of broken necks and bones. There was a terrible burn on her neck from having been tossed around with the seat belt keeping her so secure. "O-," Alice tried to murmur. "Ophie?"

Alice fumbled with the straps, her feet hitting the ground. Burns formed on her feet, the bus was hot, any minute now it would... it would... the world turned sideways. Something caught her, hauling her up and dragging her out. Lucy placed Alice in the snow, running back inside for whoever was left. Lilim, Alice, Ophie, Ravus, and Lucy. They were the survivors, the only ones left. "Are these ones still kicking?" A gruff voice asked. Alice tried to open her eyes, but it was so hard, it was far too hard really. A uniform Alice recognized all too well, they had found them. Not their tormentors, but the government had caught up with the escaped child soldiers. "Let's load them in, I'm surprised they survived out here for so long." Alice was lifted again, she tried to fight, but she was far too weak. "Heh, this one is still trying to kick. Ain't that cute?"

"Careful with that one, she's a biter." Something slipped over her mouth, a muzzle, the feeling far too familiar. Alice was strapped to a rolling bed, rolled into the back of a truck. When Alice next opened her eyes she was still strapped down. The clothes she had found in that house were replaced with the uniform of white pants and a white shirt. This facility was different, it was clean, just like the last, decorated in enough white to make your head spin, but the sick hall was different. The nurses were colored in candy coated hues, too sugary for Alice's liking. She had an eye patch over her right eye, her depth perception gone for the moment. When Alice tried to sit up, she found she was strapped down, head included. "Oh, look who's awake." A nurse with a too bright smile said, poking Alice with one of those thermoreaders.

Her feet were wrapped in bandages, the scratches on her arms fixed up. "Let me go!" Alice suddenly thrashed about, trying to get the straps off. "Uh, uh, we'll have none of that." A jab in the stomach made her lay down. "Where is Ophie? Where are my partners?" Alice asked, er, growled really. "Relax, Ophie is fine." The others! Alice realized, she didn't mention them. "Yes, X42759 is experiencing mild agitation." The nurse said into her watch, making a man in white come out. "No! Don't touch me! Don't touch me!" The nurse jabbed her again and Alice's world turned to darkness.

When she awoke for certain, she was in a room, still wearing the muzzle. There were three beds present, which meant that she was sharing with two other experiments. Alice sat up, pulling at the band aids on her feet. She winced, deciding that she would to that later, when the skin didn't look as pink as her hair. Her fingers had band aids too, shiny ones that made Alice's head spin when she tried to look at them. This wasn't the same facility as before, when Alice looked outside, she saw something she never thought she'd see again; a city.

Lucy had been driving the bus, something she wasn't actually licensed to do, but she had seen enough TV to know how. Those shows made it seem easy and so Lucy pushed on the gas, pulling up the brake and putting the bus into drive. They had enough gas to get them out of the tundra, or at least, Lucy believed so. She turned up the heater, yelled at everyone to stay seated and put their freaking seat belts on, then hit it. They were making good timing, everything was going smoothly, there were few threats that had to be made to kill everyone if they didn't sit down and shut the hell up. Lucy had found a radio station that played catchy songs and things were finally looking up for the freaks. Until the bomb.

It was planted in the snow, Lucy didn't know. They had run right over it, the bus flipping over. She was dangling upside down, the room smelling of heat as the gas leaked. Lucy opened her eyes, feeling bleary. She could detect little life and so, Lucy mustered up every ounce of strength she had in her body, she had four bodies to drag out of the bus, four of them were still alive. Lilim first, since she was the closest, even if Lucy didn't know her very well she couldn't just let the kid die. Ravus came next, then Alice, and finally, Ophie. Lucy had laid them all out in the snow, she had put distance between them and the bus that was about to explode. Something hit her shoulder, the world was beginning to spin. This wasn't how it was supposed to happen, they were supposed to be free, they had been so, so close. Why now?

When Lucy awoke she was in a room, Ravus across from her. There were bandages over various wounds, no shirt, just tightly wrapped gauze around her chest. It was painful to sit up, her butt was badly bruised and one of the fingers on her hands was buddy tapped. Back to where they started, it was as though they had made no progress at all.

If this was supposed to be fun, Ophie decided that she disagreed. No, this wasn't any fun at all, she wasn't enjoying anything about this. She was strung up with her own webs at the wrist, leaving her dangling uselessly from the ceiling and there wasn't much of anything she could do, not like this. Her claws were too tangled up to cut, she was pretty much just stuck like this while the silly gross disgusting humans were here to taunt her and be mean to her. "Ophie doesn't want this." Ophie insisted calmly, wriggling a little despite her lack of clothes. "Let Ophie go back to Alice now okay?" She smiled happily, maybe being cute would make a difference but in the end none of that, not at all.

"We want to have fun with you, we want to play a game." Ophie gulped, usually when people said fun like that they didn't mean it in a way that was fun to the person being talked to, Ophie knew all about those kinds of things and no, she didn't like it one bit. So then two humans grabbed her legs and made them go all wide and then another tangled her up in barbed wire with the spikes dipped with some kind of chemical that made everything tingly in a bad way. Ophie had a blush on her cheeks and felt warm and didn't knot why at all. "Um, really, this isn't fun. Ophie doesn't like this at all, okay?" What if her Alice was being hurt? What if Alice was being played with? Ophie couldn't just stay like this, she had to fight it so why was she so useless like this?

And when a weird thick round metal rod thing was put into her special spot, the spider had a very, very bad feeling that this wasn't going to be fun. "...O-only Alice is allowed..." Ophie whimpered. "Ophie needs that spot because it's for Alice, so don't touch, go away, make it stop."' But then once it was fully inserted, a candle was put under the metal rod, heating it up, searing the flesh and the spider started shrieking and crying and thrashing as much as she could to get it out, and the more she thrashed, the more the barbed wire dug into her body in all the other sensitive parts and it wouldn't stop, it wouldn't stop, she couldn't breathe, she just wanted to be with Alice, so why was this happening? Ophie didn't understand any of this.

Once sufficiently broken, Ophie was tossed carelessly onto a bed next to Alice, awake but unmoving, too hurt to really do anything but shake. They were back in the hurting place and Ophie couldn't protect Alice at all. That was worse than any of the pain, knowing that Alice was going to feel pain too.

Well, at least, that was when she dreamt. When Ophie woke up next to Alice she felt extreme pain in a place she never wanted to have pain, right in her special spot, in the spot only Alice was allowed to see. She whimpered and shivered. It was an injury from the explosion but the spider was convinced it was the humans. "Alice, Alice, we have to go, it's the bad humans, they hurt me, they burned me down there, it's not safe, they'll hurt you, Alice!" The spider whimpered, still cold and sweating from her night terror. "Ophie hurts, it hurts, Ophie doesn't like it, Alice, make it stop." She stared into the eyes of her lover, wanting some kind of solace.

EXP - #X14082 Dialogue - #000000

He was revved up and ready to let Raven sing. Arm extended, the tip of the blade eager to dance, really, except his opponent merely rolled her eyes and dismissed the invitation. Right. They were supposed to be hitting the high road—how had he forgotten that shit? She ushered them all into a rickety looking bus, and though he gave the area a furtive glance and Lucy one more accusatory stare—he wasn't gonna get caught and tagged like a labrat again—he planted dirt-caked boots over one step, another, down a narrow as fuck aisle and dropped into a seat, scooting toward the dust covered window. He slumped back, extending a leg over the seat, no, he didn't want company.

Soon enough they were cutting tires down the unpaved road, letting dust swirl behind. He watched the terrain, the scraggly branches of fruitless trees, the rise of smoke from the distance. Until it disappeared from view and they were making good clear of the open road, leaving the damages behind, inching too slowly for his taste toward the preferred direction.

Fingers numbed, they clawed at the seat. Lucy yelled over the noise of other voices to strap up. Fuck no. He stared hard at the belt dangling over the edge. Shit. He hated this. But what if he needed it? What if by sheer force of luck the bus got hit and they all went rolling? They were far from safe—hell, they'd never be.

Fumbling for the loose ends of the belt he clicked and pulled. Secure. For now. Just had to focus on something other than the bind around his middle. Take the sky, the dash of a late sun filtering through clogged tuffs of clouds. When was the last time he even noticed the sky? Remembered it was blue or pink or orange or black in different times? Since when did he care about stupid crap like why the sky is blue or the grass is green?

Everything hurt. His chest wasn't big enough to take in all the air. The thumping inside rioted faster and faster. His entire body locked in place, his stomach taut. Go faster. Damnit. Willing the bus to hike up the speed, if only he could turn the bus into a rocket. If only he had the strength to. The sky whirled and the glass was too snowy for him to focus through, his eyes throbbed. He let them rest. Just for a bit.

The sudden jolt and smack at his skull ripped him from the black place that nearly sucked him under. He gasped and blinked and clung to the seat. Something warm and tinged with a coppery smell slipped up the side of his head. Wait. He didn't even feel the impact. They were upside down, smoke and burning rubber and gas nearly choked him. This shit again.

Lucy was scrambling around, attempting to get everyone out.

Groans and the subtle crackling of fire and an eerie quiet filled the air.

Shit. Ravus worked the belt from around himself and flipped to the hood of the bus, his feet struck solid but his head swam and he had to hold on to the edge of the seat to keep vertical.

Lucy was back, her hands grabbing and pulling him out the rubble before the bus decided to go out with a blast. Outside the sheer gravity of their situation punched a giant hole in him.

The bus was missing half of its side, it'd been blown off clean. The blood, mangled parts and stench of death threatened to chip away at him. Bile rose up his throat but he pushed it down. He'd been through the worst of it already. He wasn't afraid of pain. Never was. But the chains held him back. Hell, he'll just have to find another methed to break em.

But he wasn't fighting alone.

He reached into the gaping hole, grabbed another person, dragging them out and away from the burning bus. Went back for another, check for signs of life, close the eyes of those that didn't, watch the ones that kept grinding. He'd worry about escape later. In fact that was nearly forgotten. All his focus on was moving. Taking action, keeping them going. They had to keep going. There was no time for panic. No time for fighting. No time being stuck. No time for anything but pulling out of the wreck and moving forward. Always forward.

"Ophie?" Alice inquired, sitting up. Her head spun, she lay back down, turning onto her stomach and wincing. In typical Alice fashion, her clothes were off within the first two minutes. There were plenty of band aids around her and Alice picked at them, trying to take them off. Her neck hurt, a marking left where the seat belt had rubbed into her skin, cuts and scrapes and burns having ointment applied to keep them from infection. Knowing Alice, if the band aids hadn't been on it she would be picking at the scabs that were beginning to form and heal. She hoped they wouldn't leave behind ugly scars like the ones on her back, the big x mark that had been left after a fight when she was younger and fit for combat. Now none of them could last in a war very long, not against humans with their newfangled machines that beeped and buzzed and emitted electric shocks that made her body feel like it was on fire.

"Ophie, what's wrong?" There was one more bed in the room, this one occupied with a boy. The one from before, that had been trying to pick a fight with Lucy who just wanted to drive the truck and get the heck outta dodge. Where was Lucy now? Alice had no idea that the blonde girl with purple eyes had gotten herself euthanized. Alice sat up, her head spinning. In truth she should have been used to the feeling of being weighed down with bandages and yet to feel them wrapped around her wings was so foreign, a sensation the bat couldn't get used to. A slot in the door opened, food delivered on trays with their names written in bold print on the top. Alice curiously crawled over Ophie, who despite have her own bed insisted on sleeping with Alice, not that Alice minded so much.

A...Al...Alice!" The pink haired girl puzzled, grinning proudly at the fact that she had clued that together. Alice was still learning to read after all, on the battlefield there was no use for letters and numbers, only brute strength and blood lust. Those filthy humans, just remembering the sensation of tearing apart flesh made her crave the blood she so loved. Her mouth watered ever so slightly and Alice shook her head in order to make the memory go away. She couldn't drain Ophie now, not when the spider was healing too. There were plenty of bandages on all three of them, the explosion having been enough to slice their flesh and make them bleed. Alice picked up the tray, taking it in her mouth and climbing up the cabinet to sit atop like a queen, a habit she had developed when sharing a room with an experiment that was much bigger and hungrier than her.

Their room was a bit different than the one from the facility before, this one having three beds and no window. They had a grey bookshelf, the sheets all different colors rather than the normal drab white. There was a space for the three of them to put personal belongings, but Alice didn't think that any of their possessions had survived the fire. Thank goodness that stupid bear hadn't, Alice couldn't stand Ophie's teddy bear. That stupid spider didn't need any dumb old teddy bear, not when she had Alice. The bat tore into the tray, her stomach growling as she ravenously wolfed down the piece of bread before chugging the water that had come in a little packet that Alice had punctured with her teeth.

Nothing to see here. Move along, 2681243.

It felt like fire, horrible awful fire and Ophie didn't, she didn't like any of this, she wanted it to stop, to go away, to just not have the fire right in her special spot. "Hurts, it hurts, Alice, make it stop." The spider whimpered. While she was an expert at dishing out pain, receiving it was a whole other game. It seemed the existence of pain brought her back to her shattered mindset of being in the cultist base, except it was like a relapse so in a way, the fear and terror was so much worse. "Please, Alice, we have to go, they'll hurt you, they'll break you, Ophie doesn't want to see Alice scream and be hurted again, that's not a good thing, no!" The girl who was already basically insane was spiraling out of control.

"No, only Ophie can see! Alice, are you not taking this seriously?" Ophie didn't understand why Alice so casually just took her clothes off for everyone to see what only Ophie was allowed to. Alice was being so casual, didn't she know they were in danger again? Ophie was convinced that her dream was real, so naturally she thought the humans were the same as the cultists that hurt her bad. But when the spider tried to move her special spot burned even more and the spider shivered, not even able to curl up. Any movement of that general area was horrible pain, it was probably badly injured. Ophie couldn't see it, but she was scared, so she tore up her pants with her knife-like claws and used a delicate web structure to hoist her body up as painlessly as possible for Alice to see.

Ophie stared fearfully into her lover's eyes. "How bad?" She asked in a nervous squeak. "How bad is it, how bad is it?" It was a horrible burnt mess under the bandages, but it wasn't permanent or either, just painful, and to Ophie, the pain made her think the actual injury was much worse than it really was. Sure, it was a burnt mess, but with the medical technology available, it was remediable with time. Eventually the hurt god too much and Ophie put herself back down and used webs to cover it up, blushing now that she realized there was that boy Ravus man thing in the other bed.

Teddie was dead, and that was sad, and Ophie wanted to mourn her first friend, Teddie didn't survive, Teddie was gone. A slot opened and things were pushed through, full of weird unreadable letters that made Ophie's head hurt, the symbols all blurred together and she didn't understand them, so she took Ravus's bowl unknowingly. "Be careful, it must be poison, don't trust anything of the humans, only feed from Ophie, Alice, okay?" She stretched her arm out for Alice to bite but she knew she wouldn't be able to get up and stretch the rest of the distance. "It could be a trick, a trap, okay?"

At some point he must have blacked out. The next thing he knew, he was on his back. The scent of smoke, dust, burning rubber—replaced by the all too familiar antiseptic that made his flesh crawl. Shit. He sat up. Back to square one again? Yet the room lacked the finesse of its torture chamber aesthetics. He wasn't bound. Stripped. There was the lack of chains. No medical tools around. And of course, he immediately noted—much to his irritation—no windows. Good bye sun, and fresh-not-really-fresh air.

There was the presence of the pink one—Alice, munching on the contents of a food tray. Dinner or breakfast? How much time has it been since they tasted something close to freedom and now?

His attention snapped at their next company, a girl—Ophie? Picking at random from trays ID'd, a bowl from his marked tray, then was offering her wrist to Alice—he didn't get the rest of her reasoning save for one crucial understanding.

"We're freaks, I get that. People are crazy."

The scientist with all their intellect were even more so teetering on the insanity spectrum. But they're the ones in white, they have all the power. It's what they want everyone to think. But Ravus knew better, he also knew about The Machine. What it contained. Everyone has a file. Everyone has history. These Secrets, Ravus wanted. Did he have ties? Anything to give him a starting point where to look once he high-tailed this hellhole? All he had to do was get his hands on one of those idiots and get them to access his records. It was just one level after another wasn't it?

They had room service this time. Progress. Yet, half the food contents might have something extra, he wasn't taking any chances.

He pushed off the thin cot, the room spun for a bit but after it settled he approached his tray. Picked it up and hurled it at the wall. It struck and cracked, spilling half of its contents before clattering to pieces at their feet. How's that for a statement?

Their camera watched from the ceiling above. His features hardened, set in his infamous glare. Let them enjoy the show, have a grand-fucking-tastic time. Not for long buddy, I'm coming for you. He flicked a feather between his fingers, shot it up at the device. The static and fuzz of dying electricity music to his ears.

The security camera had been taken out with a feather, so easy and light as though it were no obstacle. They would come to fix it no doubt, to properly distribute punishment for bad behavior since they were treated like wild animals, not humans. To be fair, they did crave to tear apart flesh and drink blood, or at least, Alice did. "Ophie, there's nothing there, you're imagining things." It was funny how today, Alice was the rational one. Normally it was the opposite, normally Alice couldn't think clearly if her life depended on it. When Ophie got up and began clambering onto the bookshelf, Alice helped her up, watching the tray of food get knocked away. Her stomach squirmed with hunger, a frown painted on delicate lips that once drank the blood of her enemies. "Ophie, don't hurt yourself." Alice murmured as the spider offered her wrist.

Alice's eyes lit up, she took the wrist eagerly, biting into it. It took her a moment to remember that this was Ophie, she could not suck her dry and so after a few hearty sips, Alice let go. She tore a page out of a book, using the paper to wrap around Ophie's bleeding wrist like a bandage. Alice jumped down from her stoop, testing the door. Locked, as expected. Next she began tossing things out of the bookshelf, overturning the table, looking for something, anything. Alice crawled underneath the beds, finally finding what she was looking for. "Grate!" She pushed the bed Ravus was sitting on an inch, "Don't just sit there, help me." She growled, they were a team now after all, all three of them stuck in this room.

It turned out, the grate was too small to crawl through. Alice pried the special cover off, attempting to stick her body through, but the grate was teeny tiny. "Tch, we'll have to try another method." Alice stood, a voice in the sky yelling at them. "Experiment X42759, please put your clothing back on." Alice raised her fist at the sky in protest, "Never, she hissed. Alice hated clothing almost as much as she hated needles and she hated needles a lot. Call it a primal instinct, but clothing felt restraining, as though they were choking her limbs. So all Alice wore now was a pair of undies and a shock collar, like the rest of them. It admitted one zap, but the bandages wrapped beneath absorbed most of it, giving Alice a tiny tickle. She grinned, knowing that this was at least one battle she would win.

"They can hear us," she turned towards her companions, looking at the book. "Does anyone know how to write?" Alice was still learning to read, but she could do it well enough that this plan would work. She flipped to the middle of one of the books, making a mark at the bottom of the page to show that this was where it would start.

❝"Ophie is not happy. You don't like Ophie when she isn't happy."❞

The spider wasn't happy, and she wasn't going to enjoy any of this. She was panicking, she was scared, she remembered what happened, the barbed wire and everything else before she woke up. Even if some might say it was a dream it was real, it had to be, why else was her special spot in so much pain, why was her private spot so mangled up unless it was because of these horrible humans doing what they did? The camera was gone but Ophie still couldn't relax, not with the safety of her loved one at risk. This wasn't allowed to happen, it wasn't, the spider was frantic and anxious, it was as if sense was impossible for her anxiety riddled mind. "It's true, Alice, it's bad Ophie wants Alice to be okay, to not have the human collar on!" She also really wanted Alice to be clothed because only she was allowed to see but she said nothing because she didn't want to upset her.

Alice taking some of her blood in their sacred special ritual helped a little but Ophie still wasn't relieved, not yet, not really. When Ravvy through his food at the wall Ophie nodded enthusiastically. "Yes! It's poison, the humans poisoned it, it's not safe, not at all, Ophie knows!" She spider was frantic, even after the bloodletting she still wanted her favorite pink succubus to understand. They needed to get out, and so Alice went to the grate on the ceiling to try and do something with it. In the end it didn't work and Ophie hissed at the voice in the sky. "Only Ophie can talk to Alice, go away sky voice, no one likes you!" The spider growled with primal protectiveness. But the skyvoice didn't say anything in return. "Alice belongs to Ophie, so go away, skyvoice!" Still nothing though, nothing at all.

The spider shook her orange head dismally. "No, Ophie can't read or write, none of that." She murmured, shrinking a little. "Ophie's sorry." Was she a disappointment? When the humans tried to teach her before she couldn't understand, she wasn't listening on purpose because it was stupid and boring but now maybe language wasn't so bad and stupid if it'd give them a secret code thing. Ophie then sprang up, ignoring the horrible pain in her private spot, latching herself to the locked door, swiping her knife-like claws around the tiny crack in the edges, checking the internal mechanisms. She had a sudden idea and she wanted to make use of it, of course.

Once that was done Ophie shot webs through to the other side of the door, as many webs as she could to make a leverage-based lever system to try and force the door open from the other side. But when she pulled, Ophie realized she didn't have as much arm strength as she needed to work the webs on the other end. "Ravus, Alice, help, pull Ophie's arms to pry the door open then we can get out?" She already cut through the electric locks, all that was needed now was to use her clockwork webbing to pop the door out using force and torque.

Alice was looking around for means of escape. Sure he would have done the same, but there was the door and his only weapon that could aid in busting them out needed a little charging. It's why he hadn't yet invoked in the first place. After some time he would have done so without any warning. But these girls were ready to bolt. If they could seek out another method he was gung-ho for it.
When an electrical speaker system sounded out, calling attention to Alice' s lack of modesty, Ravus chuckled. You rebel, I like you. It was when she asked if any of them were literate that caught his attention. What was the plan here?
Then Ophie went forward with her own method to pry the door using a ridiculous amount of thread work. Let's see where that went. He'd go along and help out if this didn't work he'd go back to his own plan.

Alice looked again for Ophie, biting down on her lip. "Ophie, there's nothing there, it looks normal." Alice shook her head, facing their problem of capture once more. There were two of them that could sort of read, but Ophie couldn't and Alice was running out of ideas. Ophie's complex spider net didn't seem to be working either. What else was left for them to try but brute strength? Alice wasn't sure. With just the three of them, no doubt they could puzzle out some sort of plan. Although the last time had just been a fluke with an explosion and some sort of cult that believed the victimized children to be demons and so they tried to kill them all. The doorknob turned, Alice bared herself to attack but they had some sort of long, buzzing stick that emitted electrical impulses. Her pink hair stood on ends, Alice backed up, hissing at it. They were getting smarter, these pesky humans, knowing how to handle them.

"Stay back!" Alice scratched at the air, clambering onto the bookshelf, slipping on loose books on her way up. "Alright you three, you're to report to Med Bay 1." Alice wasn't moving though, she was a stone, a rock, unable to be brought down from her perch unless they wanted fangs and claws and their faces to get torn to bits. Something else filled the room, Alice noticed. The air was tinged with a slight sweetness that made her thoughts feel slightly hazy. In her haze, Alice lashed out, jumping down and grabbing for a limb to pull off, an eyeball to crush, only to be met with volts of electricity that traveled down her spine. Something clamped around her neck, dragging her out of the room. "Got one," someone with a foggy voice spoke, as though through a mask.

"Let go!" Alice cried, prying at the thing around her neck that lifted her off of the ground and out of arms reach of the humans. "Get this thing off of me!" She swung, trying to use her feet to push her head out, but it banged against her throat, making Alice feel nauseous. "I'll kill you!" The tiny bat shrieked, "I'll kill you! I'll rip your family to shreds! I'll drink your children's blood if you don't let go of me this instant!" Her threats, however, fell on deaf ears and she was whisked away from Ophie, her partner in crime, and Ravus, her.... roommate.

❝"A spiderweb to hold the two together for all forevers.❞

It was obvious that Ophie's idea wasn't working. The more she pulled and yanked at the threads behind the door, the more she realized that her webs weren't placed correctly on the other end to tweak the door out of place, forcing it ajar from the hinges. She even snapped the electric wiring keeping it shut with her claws, so why was it being like this? Ophie didn't like it, she wanted to get Alice out and safe and she wanted to keep Alice okay because Alice was hers and she was Alice's and they had to be together forever. Ravus too, because he was a part of the team now, the team that was a very small number now that a whole bunch of others were gone forever.

The door opened then and Ophie immediately tensed, dropping down to the ground on all fours, using her super jointed limbs to full spidery effect. Like this she could easily lunge in any direction at maximum velocity, and her glands were ready to produce the stringy threads that were her bread and butter. "Don't hurt Alice!" The spider declared as if her word was law. The awful humans that cut off Alice's wing, that put that weird ugly thing on her. "Stop it! We only fought your war because you made us do it, we did what you want and this is what we get?"

Then someone took Alice, and Ophie hissed with all her hatred. She wasn't going to stand for this, no way, she wasn't, she wouldn't! So Ophie knew she wouldn't report to some place she couldn't read the name of anyways, absolutely not. So Ophie lunged herself at the humans, slicing through one of the masks, shooting webs down to forcibly shut his lungs shut, suffocating him. "Don't hurt her, Alice doesn't want this! Ravus, help, do something!" The spider attacked another but then a human grabbed her webs and dragged her out Ophie slashed at the webs, cutting herself free and hopping after Alice, crashing into an electric net just for her. A current of electricity shot through her and Ophie whimpered and then the net was shut and she was carried up. "If you want to stay with your Alice so badly, you can come too, Ophelia."

No, no, no, no! She was not going to let them take her, not like this! Luckily for her and unluckily for them, Alice was a bit more tricksy than she let on. The bar that held her above the ground, choking and shocking her was something she could grab onto. As much as it hurt to curl her fingers around the white plastic, Alice did it, using the device to turn herself, nearly choking herself in the process. In their panic, the human pressed the release button, allowing Alice to fall to the ground. He loomed over her, the threat of the shocking stick ever present. Alice growled, launching herself using all fours and digging her fangs into his neck. As her DNA was spliced with a bat, it was only natural for her to have such unnatural teeth. Two of them, where one would have their canines. She drank, tasting the sweet, penny like substance that flowed in ribbons of red.

It was in that moment that something struck her hard through the shoulder. Alice looked down, not quite comprehending. She followed the shot of blood curiously upwards, to where Ravus stood, looking like a wild animal, not that she could blame him considering they were all at least half wild. "What was that for?" She asked curiously, coughing up a bit of her own blood. It was lucky that nothing important had been struck as she was much shorter than his original target and as such, was a bit more nimble. Her little bat wings fluttered in agitation, having been clipped as well. "You're lucky it wasn't an inch lower,"s he mumbled, unless his intention had been to rid himself of the troublesome beast that called herself Alice.

Alice, after that girl that fell down the rabbit hole into a wondrous world full of curiosities. Siberia was nothing like that beautiful garden of words. Rather, it was a cold, cruel landscape of frozen ice and harsh humans that demanded her kind be locked in cages and facilities such as this. Facilities that claimed to take care of them, when really, they did nothing of the sort. Many of her kind were killed in the places that so boldly stated they were protecting them. Alice stumbled over to the battle, hyped to spill more blood. After all, this was what she was best at. Not pretending to be humans, but killing. It was what she was created for, it was what they were all created for and yet they were ridiculed for their blood lust, as though humans didn't understand how they blood thirsty creatures they created were so hungry for violence and the tear of flesh.

"How wonderful it is to be free," she did a cartwheel, launching herself upwards to kick a human in the chin. Sure the collar was uncomfortable, but electricity was not a sensation she wasn't used to. Alice grinned, it was clear that something had changed in those few moments. The child was done pretending to be something she was not and the fact was, was that she was thirsty, dreadfully so, for some violence. Too much, too much, too much, it was never enough. It seemed the story book character and the half human had something in common after all and it was that they were both quite mad. There was a glint in her eyes, a sort of twinkle that had been resparked and could only be ignited in battle. The snap of bone and tearing of flesh, the taste of blood, the way it splattered so prettily like paint across a wall. She was too busy laughing like a madman to realize that the corridor had closed off, trapping the three of them at the end of the hallway. There were no doors here either, the humans had sacrificed themselves in order to draw the three as far back as they could, a metal wall between them and freedom.

"Damn," Alice murmured, wiping her mouth, but all it did was smear the crimson around her skin. "It seems we lost this one," the bat lay flat on her stomach, attempting to pry her fingers underneath the metal wall that had come down to trap them. Gas began to fill the space, no doubt something toxic that would fill their lungs and make their heads spin until they were compliant enough to be moved.

❝A spiderweb to hold the two together for all forevers.❞

The spider girl most definitely was not enjoying this. No, nope, absolutely not. She wasn't like Ravus, she couldn't keep her head when Alice was in trouble. Ophie was strong, most definitely, but she was also very weak when it came to Alice. If she couldn't keep her head in the game she couldn't plan traps and tricks with her webs, she couldn't be hyperaware of everything with her super sensitive spidery senses, she wasn't good for anything. But Alice managed to save herself and Ophie was rescued from the net thanks to the big tall giant swordsman. "Uuurg, stupid robots." Ophie stood herself back up, sharpening her claws, wetting her glands to get them ready for more shooting and stringing. Ravus dashed ahead to get himself closer to Alice, so Ophie set up a few dozen string traps behind them so if anyone tried to follow, they would die.

"Don't hurt Alice, no one's allowed." The spider muttered sourly at Ravus, but not openly hostile since Alice seemed fine even after being hit by him. She slit a few more throats and made her way after Alice and Ravus, wondering where they were forcibly relocated once all the fun and killing was over from the war of whatever or something. It was nice out here in the crisp bitter cold with the air that was super easy to breathe and the chill that made every nerve in her body stand on end. Ophie very much liked this - what she didn't like was being stuck inside where everything was artificial and gross and human and poopy. This spider liked the wild of the outdoors much more.

Alice was so beautiful like this, fighting at the top of her strength, and Ophie needed to do more to help too! Ophie wasn't as tricky in the same way Alice was - she was better at misdirection, super speed, and trapping humans in webs when they weren't looking. It was what she was best at, after all, so she did it with all her strength. But when she saw the walls going down amidst the fray, Ophie shot her webs under, making them cling to the top on the other side of it. It wasn't enough to let them out, but it was enough to open the bottom up for free air. And when the weird gas came, Ophie grinned and simply clogged up the vents, and so the bad air stopped flowing, and circulated with good air that came from under the wall.

The spider wasn't satisfied with just this, though. So her claws shined brightly as she scratched and gnawed at the wall opposite of where the main fighting was, eventually shearing through with some effort. "There, a small opening, if someone stronger wants to make it bigger for us." She clung close to Alice then, feeling a bit tired from everything. "Alice, are you okay? Are you hurt? Ophie loves her Alice." So she clawed into her wrist until that red ichor flowed and lifted it up for her precious bat. "Do you want some? Will it help?"
