"I suggest you run."
Gustav is a kind soul, yet a bit rough around the edges, spouting of the impolite and undignified remark every now and then, often at the most inopportune times. And even when he does make these mistakes, he makes up for them with great haste, lest he burn a bridge for the future. He tends to take life a bit too seriously, often putting his work as a mercenary, and his training far ahead of his social and personal life, with what little friends he has mostly clientele, or comrades from past operations. That isn't to say he doesn't come out of his shell every now in then, yet only around closest of friends.
In battle, Gustav is determined, analytical, and ferocious, able to concoct plans to overcome most any situation he and his team may be subjected to.
Gustav is seldom seen without his hulking suit of armour, crafted thick with the finest, and sturdiest of metals, and tinted black with repeated retemperments to increase its strength. Yet, at the same time, Gustav refuses to wear a helmet, unless it is absolutely necessary.
He also carries his trusted broadsword, Landsknecht, almost wherever he goes.
Where Gustav lacks in special abilities, he makes up for in sheer, unrivaled strength, agility, and combat prowess.
Growing up an orphan on the outskirts of Nogard, Gustav earned his keep in a rather unorthodox way compared to the other orphans. He worked for his fill, always having an innate sense of justice, right and wrong, and a strong sense of loyalty to the people. He thought long term, not wanting to be remembered as the "little shit who stole bread and clothes", but for being a determined lad trying to work his way out of the gutter.
Upon achieving an apprenticeship at a local blacksmith, Gustav began looking into not only combat arts, but intense training with the local guard and Guard Captains, which developed his combat at an early age. Though he lacked in skill as a blacksmith for anything but swords and armour, his fighting prowess grew exponentially, his abilities seeming to double with each training session. When he came of age, 19, he was offered to join the Castle Guard, starting off as a lowly squire. Instead, Gustav refused and began taking on jobs of a mercenary, though only accepting tasks of high moral standards, that would deliver justice. It was only two years later that Gustav's name became well known in the department of "hired help".Recently, however, Gustav has been on record as "inactive" among the mercenary community.
