Introduction
MESSAGE INCOMING
Hello, (Insert your name here) If you are reading this, you have successfully made it to Hyrokkin, or at least in its orbit. Before you begin with whatever you choose to do, there are things you must know.
I am Tero, the artificial intelligence in charge of new recruits to the factions.
Me, I am of the Hyrokkin Guard. We defend the system Eridu from raiders and illegal ships. When you decide who you want to be, keep in mind that whoever you choose to become, you must try to have more friends than enemies.
MESSAGE ENDED
Factions and clans
Hyrokkin is full of cities, this means there are many factions too. These are the factions that dominate the system of Eridu.
The grey wolf alliance
The Hyrokkin Guard: The Hyrokkin guard protect Hyrokkin and Eridu from invaders, they own the majority of the land on the planet.
The Advanced Miners Syndicate (TAMS): TAMS are the main source of resources on Hyrokkin, they mine down deeper than anyone else, which results in them having greater and rarer resources. People can pay TAMS to get them something they need.
Unallied factions
Claw Orbital Weapons Manufacturers: The largest Producer of Vehicle based weapons in all of Eridu. They produce high-quality, cheap weapons for all vehicles.
The Eridu Removal and Protection Agency: You can pay a ERPA agent to protect anything you need, for a small sum of money. The agency will also let you pay one of its agents to "tactically remove" someone from the current situation. (Please note payment is NOT optional as it helps provide the upkeep for the faction.)
(More factions to come soon)
Other things you need to know
Credits: The form of money on Hyrokkin, it is transferred digitally via a retina scan based password.
Hyrokka: The abundant material underground in Hyrokkin. It is used to fuel many different things such as vehicles and weapons.
Weapons: Weapons of Hyrokkin do not just vary by size and manufacturer, there are many other types of firearm.
HHPCL: Hyrokka-fueled high power concentrated lasers, or HHPCLs, are only used in large vehicles because of their sheer size.
Laser: A heat-based projectile weapon that requires to be powered by a small electrical fuel tank on the underside of the barrel.
Ballistic: Fires conventional or explosive bullets.
Plasma: The same as ballistic but requires re-filling with compressed plasma energy cells.
Experimental: Other types of weapons include gloves that are powered by electricity so that they can fire lightning, fireballs or generally anything. PM me to suggest new weapons!
Equipment: There are lots of types of equipment on Hyrokkin, here are some:
Earpiece: An advanced version of the old earpiece communicator, it is highly secure and is hard to be bugged.
Hacker: A small box the size of a credit card. It will instantly hack any password or firewall protected device in a matter of seconds. These cost a large amount of credits to produce, so they are rare and expensive.
Power armor: Heavy powered armor that often uses electricity to fuel jet packs and handheld plasma cannons.
The forgotten:
The forgotten used to be a faction. They were formally known as the brotherhood of the dead, but after many years of living on Skalza (Hyrokkin's moon), they slowly began to fight among themselves. Eventually, all of the tension between them and the other factions was forced out in one huge blast of assassinations, murders and warfare. The forgotten killed one of the most senior Hyrokkin guard members, Sergeant Huiri, sparking a war between Hyrokkin and the brotherhood. All of the faction leaders decided they needed to be taken out once and for all. They powered the HHPCL ground to air cannon on the surface of Hyrokkin, firing it straight at Skalza. The moon was split into several pieces and so were the forgotten. Some of them were killed, some decided to become bandits, but there was one member who had sworn to get revenge on all of Hyrokkin, not just the Guards, but every faction. During the explosion, the member, now known as the Subject, mutated into something unlike anything ever known about. Some say he is still waiting out on Skalza, killing anyone he can.
Hyrokkin now has a website!

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 3 authors
Inside the huge ERPA cruiser orbiting Hyrokkin, Commander Ryante sat down inside his office, slumped on his chair. He let out a sigh of exhaustion. "Why is there so many bloody people trying to attack my mercenaries?" he moaned.
"I do not know, sir." a reassuringly calm robotic voice said from the speakers in the ceiling.
He sat up in his seat as his earpiece rang, he lifted his hand to it to answer, but decided not to. The reason for this was that he had been getting calls all day, from various people threatening to kill him. He walked towards his office door and reached for his sniper rifle.
Three corridors down was the hangar of the ship, with a one-way ERPA only force-field on the west side. Joe climbed into one of the scout ships and ignited the engines.
"Time to go." He said in his communicator as the ship blasted toward Hyrokkin with dust trailing behind it.
The Captains voice blared through the speakers outside the door, notifying the ship's passengers that they would arrive at the planet of Hyrokkin in one day. Though the walls were sound proof Jaxon could hear all noises that were made within about a ten yard radius outside the food hole in the door and by now, through the talking of evening shift prison guards, he knew enough about Hyrokkin to understand that the crew would be extremely pleased with the Captains notification. So with this new information in mind, Jaxon lay back down in his cold bed, and started thinking over his upcoming escape.
"Prison ship identified, Hyrokka-class steel hull. Over 100 passengers on board, 80% prisoners." The same reassuring voice came through the ship's speakers. It was Trimme, his VAD (Voice Assistance Device).
"Trimme, tell me where the prisoners are held." Ryante said.
A diagram of the prison ship lit up the windscreen. Joe was startled by the sudden smokescreen and began to spin off to the right. The diagram hurriedly shrunk and floated to the bottom left corner of his ship's windscreen.
"Try to make it smaller first next time, OK Trimme?" He pleaded.
"OK, sir." Trimme replied.
The rear of the ship was highlighted green, labeled with 'prisoners on board.' A plan was forming in Ryante's mind.
"Trimme."
"Yes, commander?"
"Ready the rockets."
Jack used the wall for a temporary balance as he sluggishly walked to the door frame that once held a large metal door. The door had been blown from its hinges and was embedded in the otherside of the door.
Jax entered the hallway and assessed the situation. The hull of the ship had obviously been blown up as the emergency doors that were inside the hull had clamped shut, keeping the vacuum from causing any more damage. Wires hung from broken ceiling tiles as red emergency lights flashed giving the area a eery red glow. Suddenly, something bright flashed on the ground that caught Jax's attention. It was the electricity of the prison guard's laser rifle shining. He quickly bent down to pick up the gun and stood checking the mechanics. When he placed his fingers on the rifle grip a 2X zoom scope popped out of the top, shocking Jax a little bit, but only making him admire the machinery more.
"Y-Your not .. not going to m-make it far." Said a struggling voice beneath him. Jack looked down to see a young man, probably a new recruit, staring up at him with a shard of medal in his ribs and blood pooring slowly from his mouth. The scene of this boy in such anguish, still sticking to his training, made Jax smirk a little bit.
"Your in no condition to be making threats son." Jax bent down and put the barrell of his rifle to the area where the shrapnel was and pushed in hard into the guard's ribs. He let out a cry. "I have no reason to kill you boy." Jax stood up and walked away. "You'll be dead in a minute anyway."
But, as with all such things, the changes hadn’t been made, and the problems had simply fallen by the wayside. And every morning Seth was treated to the nausea-inducing grinding gurgle of a machine that should have been retired years ago. The black liquid finally gushed into the proffered mug, and Seth’s mood improved by small degrees as the unmistakable scent of caffeine permeated the air. Lifting the mug to his mouth, Seth strolled over to the thrice-enforced window of the building he was currently residing in.
Seth was standing in one of the many small, stocky buildings owned by TAMS. Made out of dull concrete and with carefully sealed windows and entrances, it was one of the many buildings that squatted above the various entrances into the underground mines. Seth had been working this particular mine for over a week now, taking occasional rest on the thin camp bed laid out for that purpose, and living on coffee and the occasional slice of bread. He was midway through a commission, and the proposed payout would leave him in comfortable standing.
He’d drained half of the boiling coffee when the radio he wore clipped to his leather belt crackled into unhealthy life. Seth grimaced at the squealing noises it emitted – he really did need to get it replaced – then listened uncharacteristically intently as a friend of his working in an identical building about five miles away informed the listeners in clipped, formal tones who and what was approaching Hyrokkin. Seth tuned out almost immediately, disregarding such information as unimportant for his personal well being. He had no immediate intentions to head up into orbit today, mostly because he didn’t particularly covet the inevitable meeting with ERPA’s Commander. He’d had enough of authority figures for one day, thank you very much. They had their uses, but the further away from Seth such uses were actualized, the better for everyone involved.
Seth drained the remainder of his coffee, and then dumped the cup on the draining board to be washed later, when he had the time and the motivation. He absently scratched at the scar on his eyebrow as he suited up, methodically checking that his equipment was in place, oxygen tank ready, and suit fully intact.
Down I go.
"Trimme, take the ship back to the cruiser." He said to his helpful VAD.
"Are you sure, I believe you were heading for Hyrokkin." She said, a concerned tone in her voice.
"I am, just do what your told." He replied.
"Yes sir."
He prepared his jetpack on his back, unhooking the safety straps from the front of the heavy pack.
"Oh, and Trimme?"
"Yes?"
"Watch out for Guard Officers, attack if neccesary."
He jumped out of the cockpit, plunging towards the huge TAMS mining rigs around the gaping cavern on the surface.
A six mile drop...
Down I go
Anybody else would have slid gloves on before making the descent into Hyrokkin's underbelly, but Seth liked the feel of stale air brushing over his skin, the pitted steel of the ladder, the rough rock face. It reminded him that he was alive, grounded him in the dark and in the damp, all alone but for the radio attached to his belt and crackling cheerfully at intervals, the one remaining link to the outside world. All things considered, Seth preferred the mine.
He reached the end of the ladder and hopped off, booted feet clanking dully on the rough path that had been hammed out throughout the mine. He stepped off this cultivated central path, and into one of the many side alleys riddling this particular cavern, and immediately any illumination he had been receiving from above was cut out. With eyes more used to darkness than light, Seth's gaze swept across his visor, taking note of his vital signs - all normal, all functioning well - checked the various components of the suit had come on line, then issued his first command.
"Light it up." The suit obeyed the familiar voice command instantly, and the tunnel ahead was bathed in a soft green light. Seth began to walk, the only sound in the dim mine his own steady breathing and the faint echoes of his boots. Space was soon restricted, and Seth was forced to bend over, and finally almost inch along on hands and knees to reach the furthest point of this particular tunnel. Then he took up his station where he'd finished the day before, callused hands resting on familiar tools.
This part of his work was far too delicate for the drill to be appropriate - despite Seth's cavalier approach to his own health, he had no intention of making the rocks fall on his head - so he was stuck, for now, with the hammer and chisel. Furthermore, this way, the material he removed from the rock was more likely to remain in larger chunks, which meant a larger payout. And Seth hadn't met a miner yet who looked to a large commission with apathy.
The green light produced by the helmet of his suit shone brighter whenever it glanced over the Hyrokka Seth was commissioned to collect, and he soon began to chip away at one of the largest veins visible, lumps of Hyrokka falling into his bucket with a steady, familiar rhythm. Such work was easy for any miner as experienced as Seth, and there was little danger beyond the normal circumstances of working within a mine, and his thoughts inevitably began to drift.
Setting
0.00 INK
"Lower sector, near rig B2418, he appears to be mining Hyrokka." Trimme replied
"Whats his name?" Ryante asked
"Seth, no second name on file."
Joe looked down into the Cavern filled with workers and decided this job would need a disguise. He slowly decended and hit the ground running. He ducked behind a stack of crates and peered out towards the patrolling Hyrokkin Guards. He pointed his silenced laser pistol at the one, shooting his through the head. As the other one was in shock, he jumped on top of the crates and shot the second guard. The first guard, now slumped on the wall off one of the warehouse buildings, was wearing light armor and carried a ballistic shotgun. He hurriedly changed into the light armor, placing his signature heavy attack helmet and armor onto the ground.
"Trimme?"
"Yes, commander?"
"Pick up my armor when I'm done."
He walked towards the huge gaping cavern, trying to locate seth.
Incompetent idiots. They knew that the radios everyone carried as demanded by protocol were notoriously unreliable compared with the ones set into the helmets of their suits, yet the older guys continued to use them.
Curiosity stimulated, Seth glanced across the icons on his visor. “Send message to base,” he spoke to his suit, calm quiet voice echoing only slightly in the mine. “Ask them what the hell that was about.” The suit beeped in confirmation that the message had been sent, and Seth got back to work. For a moment, the only sound in the thin shaft was of the Hyrokka dropping rhythmically into the bucket, and the clicking of Seth’s tools.
Then: “Seth, do you copy?”
Frowning, Seth set down his tools again. “Affirmative,” he replied concisely. “What’s up?”
A long sigh came through the intercom at his breach of radio-protocol, and Seth grinned momentarily. “As of yet, we are unsure,” came the unexpected reply. “We had a blip on our radar, but nothing more since. We will keep you informed.” The icon blinked closed, signaling the end of the frustratingly vague conversation, and Seth was more than interested by now.
Glancing down into the bucket, Seth’s experienced eye deduced that he had more than enough of a take for the moment, so gathering his tools, he closed his hands over the bucket and began to inch back along to the main shaft of the cavern.
