In the dark and damp, the cold stone halls of the Tomb, a single man steps forth towards the towering edifice known only as the gate. Blood seeps from wounds across his body, and he is soon to perish. Pointed ears poke from black hair, and his eyes ever bright and shining, show a measure of peace seldom found in the world. He stumbles forward towards the gate, a smile on his face.

"Countless obstacles and adversaries in my path, but not one of them could stop me from you.... I... I have come, my master's, and at long last you will be f-free." He stutters, the cold and his wounds gradually draining him of life.

"Your failure is complete, Half breed." heavily armored brute comes from the passage behind, along side him are no less than a dozen armored soldiers. "The Dragons shall not be free this day."

The half elf, chuckles, stepping forward once more to the gate, before stumbling to his knees. He takes one hand and presses it to his heart. He doesn't even face the humans as he say's "My name.... is Girien Halfborn... By the Blood in my veins, by The Breath in my Lungs, and by the soul that shines through my eyes, I.... Call out... To you..."

The Half elf falls forward, his arm outstretched across the steps of the gate. The human brute chuckles then saying "Ever a failure, eh Halfborn, You couldn't even finish the incantation."

"...Solrian...." The half elf whispers with his last breath, a peaceful and happy smile marking his face in the last moments.

With the incantation complete, the gateway rumbles, and energy wraps and warps around it. The Brute pales as he realizes his mistake, and the soldiers mutter among themselves. "Prepare, prepare yourself! They'll be coming, and we MUST stop them! Slaughter them all!"

The gate warps and shatters, and with an explosive burst of energy, the way is thrown up for those who dwell within.

The Seal is Broken.

Bredolth stepped out from within the gate, blinking at the darkness as her golden eyes adjusted to the lighting. She took an uncertain step forward, her long dark hair swaying behind her as she stepped fully out of the portal, her skin a light blue color.

"Hello?" She asked, her vision clearing up and adjusting to the light level. "Where am I...?" her voice trailed off.

Everything was dark, how long has it been since he has been sealed away? A few years? A million years? A billion years? It has been far to long since he has seen and felt the warm sun. The dragon known as Xalanth pondered as he lay down in his human form, body covered in ancient plate mail. However something felt different this day, or was it morning? Noon? It was hard to keep track of time in this place but regardless something felt off.

Sitting up, he began to walk around the dark room before he heard something. And explosion of sorts coming from the gate that held them here. He could smell fresh air once again, and in the distance he saw the gate that held them turned into nothing but splinters. Wasting no time he ran as incredible speeds and left the confines of the room outside the gate where he saw a group of soldiers, on the ground lay a half elf. It seemed that that man was responsible for their freedom. As Xalanth looked at the group in front of him, he began to chuckle which then turned into a full blown laugh. "Humans...You pathetic mortals...You do not know how long I have waited for this moment! I will start by slaughtering every single one of you to let off all this stress. Know that you will all die with pathetic screams in your throats..." He spoke as he drew a two-handed sword from his back. Claw like hands covered with plate gauntlets gripping the handle. Of course he was aware of another dragon that was already outside the gate but quite frankly he was more focused on the humans in front of him, very eager to rip them all apart.

Vatra sat there as usual. How long had it been since she heard sounds by the entrance? Was the mumbling she heard. She crawled on all fours as a human towards the sounds, but had no idea if she was even that close. A loud explosion busted the entrance open. She in fact was about ten feet away and the light had her reeling back. She rubbed her eyes vigorously, trying to adjust to the sudden light.

"W-What is going on?" She whispered, her voice cracking. She saw two dragons walk out in human form. "W-Wait." She mumbled. Getting up and stumbling forward. Her hands, dropped by her side, had fire bouncing from each finger when she walked out. "The humans look petrified, like they should." She thought, before walking to the dragon with the crazy two handed sword.

"Wait..." She looked up at him, her silver eyes shining with an anger. Vatra had never harmed a human intentionally, but she could make a first today. "Put down your weapons." She spoke to them, her voice gaining its confidence.

It was instant. So very, very instant...Or was it? Was it...Was it...Was...What? A fit of violent coughs wracked Karthyrx's body, just like always when he moved. Something was different though. He could feel it in the ichor he called blood. The blood he called ichor? He couldn't remember which, but he could hear. He could hear them all. Each and every voice, his friends. They were all sounding off in his mind for the first time in forever...

Or had they ever stopped?

Karthyrx couldn't remember. He didn't even remember the prison as his decaying body shambled out of it. He didn't remember the dragons, stuck in human form that he'd spent the last eternity with, and he certainly didn't remember the humans. The elf-thing, though. That he remembered. Sleeping! Laying still, motionless. Why, it was just a lazy elf. Or..Partly elf. He wasn't sure. It didn't matter, though.

With a smile, he pushed past the others of his kind and crouched down by the dead thing, even bone in his body creaking. With a sort of tender gentleness his he put his hand on the corpse's forehead and spoke in between coughs. "Awaken, dear one. Hear my voice and return to me..Let us speak once more.." Despite how simple the incantation seemed a blinding flash of purple-ish energy ensued, and the corpse began to stir...

The soldiers stood stock still in fear. The presence of the dragons before them was more than they had been expecting, more than they had even believed. The power and majesty that now faced them was terrible to behold for their mortal minds. Despite this, they did not lower their weapons, and as the Brutish captain barked out for them to charge, they did so, a dozen mortal men thinking they could stand against the monsters before them.

Before they had even taken two steps, the soldiers fell as a pile of severed parts, and in the middle of where they had stood was ten foot tall warrior. Heron the Unstoppable. "Awww c'mon... Is that any way to treat your betters, especially after having been away for so long?" He said, his voice smooth as silk. He chuckled as the Captain stepped back in fear.

--

The elf corpse lay silent as Karthyrx unleashed magic over it, and when the spell was complete the young halfbreed gasped for air. He looked about himself and gazed at Karthyrx and the other dragons, tears welling in his eyes. He shakily tried to stand, and only got as high as his knees before stumbling to fall on his hands. With a horse voice he cried "At last! At long last, the Master's are free"

Bredolth stared at the strewn parts of the soldiers in disbelief, shock clear on her face. "What's going on?!?" she demanded after gaining her wits a few moments later, taking a few steps forward and looking around at the other dragons now in the room. "Were they really going to attempt to kill us?" she finished with a question as she looked up at the other dragons.

Xalanth was ready to slice apart the humans that were ready to charge at them, however a split second later and the human soldiers were reduced to nothing but dismembered limbs and blood. Although he wanted to kill them himself, it was satisfying enough to watch. After the initial carnage, he slowly walked forward all the while glaring at the human captain. "Listen up human, you can either tell us what you know and die a quick painless death or you can suffer the most agonizing death if you do not speak." He spoke as he stopped a few feet away from the human captain. "Lets start with some simple questions, what year is it? And what are the main human ruling kingdoms? Answer quickly human...I do not like waiting..." He then crossed his arms and began to wait for the man to speak. There was no way he could run away so he was in no real rush to extract information, but he rather not wait around watching the human shake in terror.

Her massive jaws were open in a menacing snarl and her claws swiped and grabbed for any humans that dared hop too close to her. Her wide, thick, and golden wings were spread to make her appear larger and more dangerous than her teeth already did. The humans shouted and drove her closer to the circle of the other dragons. In a last ditch effort, she raised onto her hind legs and gave three good flaps of her wings to try and get her bruised and bleeding body off of the ground. But the effort was quickly detained by a few spears and she groaned in agony while crumbling forwards with a deep thud.

That was all Ohm could remember before she had opened her eyes and the air was heavy and quiet, as if time and life had been sucked out of it. The only thing she had been able to hear were the distant shuffling of wings and the thump of heavy paws. Time crawled slowly in the prison and with the end of the Demon Wars and the start of the human rebellion the freshest thing in her kind, she was left exposed to many nightmares and thought processes. Physically her wounds healed in a day but emotionally and mentally, a shell slowly grew and a prejudice took root in her philosophy.

Then it was like diving into an ocean after flying under the bare sun for an hour. She could breathe and she could think and she could move without feeling as if she were buried under a landslide. Her sorrowful thoughts removed their blanket from her mind and she stood on her two human legs. Light pierced the darkness around her while she ran her hands up and down her face. Then her sharp ears caught a ruckus behind her and she spun around, her hair following the movement until she could actually see. Light? Kin? Humans.. Dead and Alive? Unconsciously yet still cautiously, she emerged from the ancient cell and squint slightly at the sudden light and at the effort to understand what was happening before her. Blood? Again..? Oh no..

Karthyrx had been pleased. So pleased. Almost..Truly happy for a moment. He patted the half elf on the head, and still oblivious to everyone shambled his way over to the pile of severed human remains.

"This won't do..No, no this won't do at all. Why, you lot not only fell asleep, you've fallen apart!" With a coughing rumble that resembled a chortle, the old dragon sat himself down in front of the gore, picking up an arm and the pressing it to the torso it had belonged to. Again, a purple flash. This time though, it merely reattached the bone, and some of the skin. It had been awhile, after all..

"Could someone be so kind as to hand me a needle and thread?"

The Brute turned with a scream and ran as fast as he could towards the entrance tunnel that led out from the Tombs Cave.

He only made three strides before he was suddenly thrown back towards the feet of the gathered dragons. The elfin soldier leaped out of the way to avoid being struck by the armored warrior, but his legs would not support his weight, and he fell with a cry.

Where the brute had been standing, a tall, grey skinned dragon with white horns, wearing the tribal vestments of green and russet color favored by the elven people of Alonora stood looking back at them all. "As per usual, the rodents with the loudest bark, are also those with the greatest squeak."

Adurna smiled at the newcomer "Mrax, I am glad to see you well"

Mrax in turn responded with "Implying that these wretched rodents would be able to do harm to me? Your subtle insults have not changed."

"And theres your legendary attitude I see" Adurna rolled her eyes at him, before turning to look at at the soldier that Heron was in the process of pinning down with a sword.

Heron responded to Karthyrx "This is no time for pity playing decrepit wretch, and those ungangly things would not do for proper servants anyway."

"Now then... what should we do with you?" The Archeon said, smiling and licking his lips as the armored soldier squirmed beneath his boot.

Ohm had finished rubbing her eyes in time to see Karthyrx looking about for a needle and thread. The sight of him cooing over the body parts and delicately putting them back together made her frown with nausea and pity. Flexing her hands and regaining her sense of balance and knowledge on how to walk, two legs or four, because being locked away for such a long period of time really had its effects on the mind, she watched Karthryx. Her silver eyes examined him and the air surrounding him to deduct that he was one of the many presences she sensed during her time in their prison. Ohm furrowed her brows and tried to figure out a way to help him, besides aiding his stomach turning attempt at making the diced bodies whole.

By the time she gave up on her pursuit of a solution, her attention was pulled to the scene of a large figure holding the Human leader beneath his boot. It was none other than Heron, a dragon she heard many stories about. Although she found a bit of pleasure in watching the man suffer for trying to have them all killed, she still had a bit of love for the humans in her heart and mentally figured that his reasoning for his actions was none other than fear. Still, she made no move to help but kept one ear on the situation as she quietly walked over to squat by Karthyrx. "Lost one..? That is your title yes? Would you like for me to call you this or would you allow me your true name?" She wanted to avert his attention from the bodies.

Xalanth walked over to the soldier and planted a boot on his leg, crushing it immediently. "I warned you human and you have tested my patience! Speak now or I will being tearing off your limbs one by one and flay the skin off your body! Anyways this human deserves his death, however he has knowledge about the world ever since we were all locked away. It would be benificial for us to know what these humans have been doing all this time." He spoke as he began putting more pressure on the mans leg, continuing to crush it further.

Of course he turned his attention to karthyrx when he hard the dragon speak. He then watched as he was trying to put the human bodies back together like some sort of messed up puzzle. He knew the dragon had lost most of his mind, but to see it like this it was rather creepy to say the least. He thought it was almost fitting for a dragon dabbling in the dark arts to be the most messed up but he was disappointed to see such a dragon be that messed up. Who knows what happened to him to cause this.

The man on the ground shifted and struggled in vain against Xalanth's boot, beating on it with an armored fist as he tried to escape. "You Monsters! You filthy dogs of demons! Get off me! We'll kill you all! We will kill you all!"

It was clear that little else would be gotten from him, but down the hall he and the others had tried to escape, the sounds of clashing steel and stomping feet could be heard echoing from the passages beyond.

Mountains of Crassier

Mountains of Crassier by TheOneWhoSeesAllThings

The Continent of Crassier is most well known for it's mountainous landscape, where valleys, cliffs, and high mountains make conventional land based travel all but impossible. The use of Flight is all but a necessity to live here.

The Greenlands

The Greenlands by TheOneWhoSeesAllThings

Crassier has the fewest types of environs. Your either living above the clouds on a mountain, in the green fields of the valley, or the burning ashlands. Be thankful that these aren't the ashlands.

The Ashlands

The Ashlands by TheOneWhoSeesAllThings

The only people who enjoy living in the Ashlands are the Volgarn Brood. It's no wonder they made this place their home. Nothing but molten rock, slag, fire, and brimstone. It doesn't rain in the ashlands, and that's not snow.
