Personality: A quiet, intelligent, and warm-hearted young woman who is always willing to reach out to those in need. She is a trusted advisor by all within the zodiac, remarkably wise, as well as intelligent. She sees clearly even in the darkest of times, and has room in her heart for everyone and everything. Her love extends even to the violent, uncaring Riko. She has acted as a sort of mother to him since his mother rejected him on the day he was born. She made sure he had everything he needed at all times, made sure he was warm and fed and played with, changed his diapers. Perhaps that is why Riko does not like her very much, or at least tries not to. She knows everything about him, and that terrifies him.
History: Akane raised Riko herself, since their mother would not do it. Riko does not know that Akane is his half-sister, and he would be mortified if he did. As it is, he treats her roughly, coldly, because she knows all his secrets, she has seen him weak, and he hates that. He hates the fact that he owes her his life many times over. He has made her an outcast, permitted to enter the Sohma family estate only for the New Years celebration, but the soft-hearted young woman does not mind. She understands and does not blame him for it. She works as a teacher at the school that Nori and Kichirou attend.
