0 · 371 views · located in Earth

a character in “Lunar Grace”, as played by Elrith Eldwind

Description

Codename: Zeus

Real Name: Desmond Ruler

Gender: Male

Age: 27

Description: A young and handsome man who is health look and has a handsome face. His black hair and Blue eyes are entrancing and his confidence and air of swagger are rather alluring. He always dresses well and is constantly clean cut and well-trimmed. He wears glasses when reading and a strange necklace that seems to be mechanical. He favours a relaxed smile rather than a cool frown and while his eyes are kind there is something about him that speaks of FRD. You know, “Speak softly and carry a big stick
”

Image

Personality

Personality: He’s mostly cool and collected but like his abilities he is a force to reckon with when angered. While he is seemingly benevolent at first he knows how to hold a grudge and if given a reason he is unforgiving. He came from a wealthy family and unlike most of the other gods is famous. In recent months he’s been known to be a shrewd business man that one wouldn’t want to see on the other side of a table in a board room, and at such a young age.

Equipment

Equipment:
Powers: He has greatly increased physical prowess however it is balanced by his great powers over thunder and storms. His powers are not beyond that of the other gods nor is his strength though he does seem to be the first new god to emerge. His mass transport comes in the form of him shooting into the sky in a bolt of lightning and then descending much the same with a loud crack of thunder echoing around him when he lands. He is often smouldering when he lands as well.

One power not granted to him by his new found abilities is his keen intellect, something he was born with. His IQ is high and he has the right schooling to have made the most of it. Some call him a genius but he ignores that MENSA card in his wallet for the most part.

Equipment: He intends to have a sword made or maybe a staff when he finds a god who can match the codename of Hephaestus, but for now he does carry a combat knife on the small of his back, something his bodyguard once suggested .this too he may replace should someone of unnatural ability with engineering show themselves.

History

History: He was born to a wealthy family and at a young age was put through the best of schooling to be a true A-Lister of society. He’s been to all the right schools and rubbed all the right shoulders to be where he is now, sitting at the head of a multi-national corporation that was able to build the world’s tallest structure in less than half the time towers half their height would have taken. This feat, managed by him, gained him international acclaim and acknowledgement, which is a slight trouble for him, as he is after all trying to hide the fact that he is a god now from the public.

When he was fourteen he studied the changing computers of the world so as to better understand how to integrate that into his families businesses. At Sixteen he stumbled across something hidden within a broadcast from the Hubble Telescope as it scanned past the moon. This was when the world changed for him.

He soon came across another who was so blessed and so he created a plan to do more than his family or anyone he knew ever could which started by laying the foundation for the towers. Now, only three years after construction began he had completed that and other portions of phase one to his plan, but will the plan remain the same or will circumstance beyond even his control force change?

So begins...

Ryan scowled as he waited for Desmond to get his lazy backside into the dining room. It was bad enough that he had to stay here again for a while. But not even bothering to get here on time? Ryan was seriously considering transiting back to his apartment. But that would not go down well, plus, he wasn't the only one in the room. Trenton was here as well, standing on only a few feet away from him. They didn't talk, but then again, Ryan wasn't exactly inviting. He prefered not talking anyway. Being on his own suited him just fine. "I'm gonna have to try harder to stay away from this place," he thought to himself, "Especially now it's gonna get more crowded..."

Ryan didn't see the point in all this. But what Desmond says, goes. And, although he didn't want to, he was forced to stay here for a bit. To welcome the newcomers or something like that...
"Pah, as if I can be welcoming. Hello, I'm Hades! God of death! How depressing is that? They all might as we-"
Ryan thoughts were interrupted by the sudden ping of an elevator. "Finally!" Ryan said, aloud this time, "Time to get this started."

Trenton was leaned back in one of the many leather bound chairs in the Dining room. His feet were up on the table and his hands behind his head and a dead cigarillo in his mouth. He had been waiting there for the better part of the day with Ryan, his broody comrade. Trenton didn't mind though, he was feeling very patient today. He liked feeling patient, because patience most of the time means all you have to do is sit around and wait. Which Trenton was just fine with. Though, the waiting seemed longer with Ryan's typical silent treatment. He never understood why he was so bitter. Trenton was nothing but nice to the guy, but he just sits there in broody silence.

Trenton brought his left wrist up to his face to check the time. The watch he was wearing was a gift from Desmond. It was a very unusual watch. Instead of just telling the time, it depicted seasons and current shifts through constellations. He thought it was appropriate for Poseidon to know what was going on in his domain. After a few years of practice with it, he can read it like no one else can and depict the time from it. Trenton then noticed his cigarillo was out. He whipped out his silver lighter and re-lit it, taking a large puff from it. The lighter was also a gift from Desmond. It was made of sterling silver and on one side engraved on it was two tritons crossing a horse head surrounded in sea foam. The other side had words engraved in ancient greek. It simply read, "Poseidon King of the Sea and My Dear Friend." Trenton had always been a little touched by it. Zeus, Poseidon and Hades were brothers and Trenton had felt that in the past few years, they sort of had bonded into brothers. Better brothers than the Original Big Three were anyway. Sure Hades was a little cold, but he was never an out right dick to everyone. He was just.....anti-social.

He put his lighter away and glanced over to Ryan. It's not like the two didn't like each other, they just didn't really talk. They were better off than Desmond and Ryan, that's for freaking sure. He had always found that giving people space when they obviously want it can only have a good outcome. So that's what he did, he gave Ryan his space. He talked to him occasionally and that wasn't so bad, as long as the space in-between talks were rather large. Desmond called Trenton patient, he just called himself lazy.

He took a few puffs on his chocolate and sex flavored cigarillo and had decided to say something to Ryan. That was until he heard the familiar tone of the executive elevator dinging. "He's here." Trenton said casually in the direction of Ryan. He had expressed his relief of Desmond's arrival through his usual display of annoyance. Trenton simply nodded at getting this thing started. He took a few more puffs and thought about all of the new of their kind they were going to create to day. He knew most of their faces, after all he had kidnapped....oops, Desmond didn't like that word, Relocated, half of them to Olympus Towers himself. That muscle head guy was heavy, even in transit.

"I mean really, we can’t all be gods all the time you know.” Oh, how close Ryan came to punching Desmond for that comment, "As if I want to be a god all the time, As if I want to constantly be kept awake by the voices of the dead, AS IF I WANT TO BE THE GOD OF FRIKIN DEATH AND DARKNESS!" He clenched his fist and stopped himself from saying that aloud, "Calm down, Ryan, He ju- Oh no, he's going into his humanity needs us speech again, make it stop!"

And then suddenly, it did, Desmond turned around and started "summoning" the guests "Show off, you could of just went down and asked, but nooooo! You had to amaze them with your awesome power!" Ryan could be very sarcastic, even in his thoughts.
“You’re right Hades
it is time we got this started.” Desmond said, after calling all the guests names.

"Bout time" Ryan muttered back, not loud enough for Desmond to hear.

Ryan listened to Desmond's speech without interest, with an obvious bored look on his face, he had seen Desmond practising this one so many times that he could pretty much say it off by heart, a lot like Trenton did when Desmond gave his "humanity needs us" speech, Man, that was funny. He had almost laughed, almost...

He nodded his head when Desmond, no, Zeus, introduced him. "Might as well let them know that I am, in fact, alive and not bored to death" He thought "How much longer is this speech going to take? Desmond sure is theatrical..."
Ryan had to give him credit though, he was a good speaker. Everyone was listening, apart from one man perhaps, who was giving his attention to the food...
Ryan glared at him, and then smiled to himself "That might get him to pay attention..."

Dante/Tisiphoné

Dante looked at Ryan at the sound of his laugh, smiling wryly when he said "Deluded? Possibly, but then again, if you think we're deluded why are you staying here? Only the mad hang around with the deluded..." Then she actually considered his question. It certainly seemed plausible that she was indeed going mad, but she rather thought she'd stayed because well... it didn't seem she had a choice.

"Well... after the door electrocuted me, I must admit, I made the assumption that I didn't really have much of a choice in the matter. Besides..." she then added, "I like the view." At the last bit her emerald eyes locked on Poseidon and a little, alluring smile appeared on her lips.

Aeryn/Athena

Aeryn cocked an eyebrow at Ryan's statement, then looked to Dante at her reply. That girl is gonna be trouble, she thought, looking Dante up and down. I wonder what god she is in this little game... As Aeryn was unable to see Dante's nameplate, she decided she'd have to wait and see what happened. Then she looked to Ryan again, ignoring Dante.

"Maybe I am mad, I've certainly thought it a possibility. Though my experience is that madness happens over times, and I've yet to be diagnosed with anything." She smiled at him, eyes calm and wondrous. "The thing is, however, at this point whether or not we are mad, is irrelevant. You're the men in power here, are you not?" she asked, looking from Hades to Poseidon, then finally resting her eyes on Zeus.

When Hades subsequently asked the question she'd unknowingly been dying to hear, "Do you want proof?", she smiled and looked at him once more. "I'd love a little bit of proof, honestly." As she said it, she realized this was it. This was the final drop of her figuring out what all of this was about. Can it be he's really a god? she wondered, her gaze turning just a little bit eager, very subtle... hardly noticeable actually.

Dante/Tisiphoné

She'd been looking at the blonde woman, who'd asked for proof, until Zeus spoke up, demanding her attention. “I suppose now’s as good a time as any yes
” he said, and his following smile was as cocky and arrogant as any. Businessman, she thought as she looked him over, ain't that dandy. He looked to the two men beside him, Poseidon and Hades, then he smiled at all of them again. She didn't like it. He seemed almost too confident, and that coming from a woman who admired a man in charge. Something seemed off. Then as all of the servant moved to stand behind the pillars, she knew her instinct had been right on, and couldn't help smiling. A little smile, just there, but still... it was obvious she wasn't against whatever was to happen.

His next words where “As you wish
”, then he moved his hand, such an elegant movement sending out a small light. So beautiful.. she managed to think, right before it picked up speed.

She was still smiling slightly as the bolt rammed into her chest, knocking her backwards and off the chair. She blacked out for a second, not quite grasping what had just happened, then the reality of things hit her and the stars in front of her eyes cleared. What the... she thought, not even able to think it through in her mind. She blinked several times until the room came back into focus. The fucking light hit all of us! she realized, and as she looked from person to person, slowly returning to reality, it hit her: Zeus... Light... no, lightning, she then corrected herself. And he burned a hole in my favorite leather jacket! That. is. it! I'm out. I don't care how hot this Poseidon-figure is! She then slowly got up, fighting a wave of nausea, sending Zeus a hateful, yet still slightly shady look.

"Bastard," she added to her thoughts out loud, "that was uncalled for." She looked to the blonde woman who was curiously unaffected. Though she'd, as everyone else, been slung backwards, she seemed not to mind. Dante definitely didn't miss the spark of interest in her beautiful eyes. And you don't know what's good for you, lady. She shook her head slightly looking at Zeus again. "I'm leaving. You can find your Tisiphoné or whatever elsewhere, 'cause I'm not it." Then she turned and walked towards the doors, muttering to herself, "Being an asshole with the power to shoot light, doesn't give him the right to burn holes into people's clothes. Why on earth did I leave the house without my gun this morning?"

Aeryn/Athena

He hit me with a bolt of lightning... she thought in her mind, dazed. How'd he do that? As Aeryn's eyes cleared, she was able to glance up at Zeus, a look of pure amazement and curiosity in her eyes. She was momentarily without any other thought, the word How? echoing in her thoughts. Then after a couple of seconds, she finally gathered her wits about her and sat up properly, back against the wall she'd been thrown at. A slight hole was burned into her white silk shirt, fortunately having avoided her blazer. She looked down at it, on some level knowing he could have done much worse. So why didn't he?

Looking up at Zeus again, thinking she really had to change, she thought about it. A shirt with air venting just simply wouldn't do. She was a respectable woman after all. Then the words "Bastard, that was uncalled for." flew through the room, obviously having Zeus as the intended target. Aeryn's head whipped around to face the woman. White hair, emerald eyes, curved body... she was the picture of exotic beauty. So unusual. Though Aeryn thought she needed a lesson in manners. I guess even the most beautiful of creatures can't be perfect...

Then the woman looked at her, shaking her head slightly. What'd I do? she only just asked herself, as another round flew from the woman; "I'm leaving. You can find your Tisiphoné or whatever elsewhere, 'cause I'm not it." Tisiphoné, Aeryn's mind went over the name in every which way, ah... right. Goddess of Anarchy. Fits her. The woman then turned and started walking, muttering something Aeryn couldn't quite make out, leaving her puzzled.

What a curious bunch we are... she cocked her head slightly, as she had a habit of doing, then looked between Tisiphoné and Desmond Ruler... no, he obviously didn't like her exposing his real name... Zeus, it was then. He must've known I'd know who he was, so why'd he choose me? The question represented another question, and if he didn't know before hand, he knows now, so why not just kill me? Obviously, he could do it, and he seemed like a man who wasn't afraid to either. So many questions...

Once Tisiphone stood to leave, Ryan smirked, "You try it, Believe me, I have often enough. You cannot escape it, you were chosen and now you have to live with it. When you were kidnap- Sorry Zeus- Relocated, the codes were activated, you are now gods. Nothing can change that."

"Speaking of leaving, can I go yet, Zeus? I'm getting sick of this place."

"Bastard, that was uncalled for." he heard someone speak up and looked to her, his smug smile was gone, he’d been play acting like an ass but now he had stood, he whipped his hands with his napkin and tossed it to the ground , the metaphorical gloves were off. “Believe me; it was very called for
” he said smoothly with a blank face he glanced at those around the room and looked to the first to stand, TisiphonĂ©, who was rather perturbed. That was to be expected.

“After all it’s not my power I was showing, it was yours
” he blankly gave a slight explanation though he had to expand on it, “That bolt would have fired any human to a crisp, literally burning through their skin and bones
 yet look at you
” He pointed to the hole in her jacket, “Look at that hole, your jacket is leather correct? Yet not only are you still alive but there isn’t’ a scratch on you. As I said; it’s not my power was shown here but yours.”

She continued to rage and began storming away making Zeus rub the bridge of his nose, "I'm leaving. You can find your TisiphonĂ© or whatever elsewhere, 'cause I'm not it." she got to the door and it was unlocked though Zeus called after here, “You don’t have a choice here
 none of us do
”

He glanced to Poseidon and sighed, heading over to where he could gaze out at the night sky from the balcony but was still visible from the table. “You’re welcome to leave miss, I have no intention of forcing any of you to stay, but you can’t escape from the facts here
” he turned to her and looked more annoyed now, “Believe me, these powers are a gift from fate not me, do you really think that I’d chose a bunch of people who are barely out of college to hold limitless power? You were a god before you ever walked in here and even if you walk out now you’ll still be a god. The codes were buried in each of you for months, maybe years, I only activated them. ”

He returned to the head of the table and sat back down, he was sure there was more conflict to come, personalities like those gathered here were bound to cause issue. He’d just awoken godly strength, speed, and powers in them all. Who knew how they would cope. He looked to TisiphonĂ© again, “If you want to go home then just focus on your house and go there
” he said cryptically, knowing doing so would instigate her transit.

Athena

Aeryn's attention went from Zeus to Aphrodite in a second, as the woman spoke up; "So this is why we were chosen.... to be gods that helped the earth? I didn't know my whole life was surrounded by being something.... so powerful....." Aeryn looked at her for a little while, thinking that maybe, just maybe, she wasn't the clueless blonde she appeared to be. The thought made Aeryn smile at the woman, a simple smile, though still stunning, coming from her. Looks like I'll have to get used to a whole new set of people. She didn't think she'd mind Aphrodite once she got to know her though. I'll have to be careful not to judge these people too early into this. Might get burned.

Zeus, however, starting to explain about TisiphonĂ©'s disappearance, soon got her attention back. As he finished, she nodded in silent understanding, rubbing her temples where a headache was starting to peep up and say "hello". It wasn't too bad however, so she'd live. Then Zeus cleared his throat, speaking again; “I’m sorry I couldn’t let your speak my name earlier, but you see a name has untold power among gods
or so legends say, I’m not certain what will happen if you use true names
though you all will all know mine soon enough, though I already know all of yours so I think that should balance it yes? What do you think Athena?”

He'd looked at her as he asked the question, though as her mind went into hyperdrive, as it always did, her headache only got worse. Her brows furrowed and she put her head in her hands, closing her eyes, trying to relax, but as soon as she once more made an attempt of thinking of the proper answer to Zeus' question, her headache doubled and she couldn't help a slight moan of pain. Gradually getting worse, faster and faster, Aeryn was no longer able to think, nor act. Elbows resting on the table, her head in her hands, blonde hair falling over the entire ordeal. She was a wreck really, but she no longer remembered her surroundings, nor was she aware of her continuous moans of pain.

After 20 seconds of moaning, Aeryn screamed, no longer able to stand the pain in her head, and as her entire body went into violent spasms due to the pain, shaking uncontrollably, she unknowingly pushed her chair out from under her, and landed on the floor with a thunk. The violent shaking seemingly never ending, Aeryn's body just kept on going, her hands clutching her head, not even reacting to the fall.

Athena

As Zeus put Athena to sleep, her body readily, almost eagerly advanced into slumber, and following the help of Poseidon, her body relaxed, her muscles unclenched, and her hands fell onto the floor. A peaceful smile now lightened up her delicate pixieface, her entire demeanor more relaxed than ever, single strands of blonde, straight hair falling onto her cheeks.

After a couple of peaceful moments, Athena opened her eyes, blinking against the harsh light of the ceilinglamps. She still felt a subtle throbbing in her head after the agonizing moments that had felt like days. Being the first of the gods to really begin her transformation, she was also the first to awaken. Earlier events forgotten for the span of a millisecond, Athena looked perplexed, before a look of calm, both in her face, her eyes, and her demeanor overtook her. Knowledge had swamped her entire being during her transformation, and as she just now found out... her thoughts weren't slow and time-consuming. Actually, they passed by at the speed of light, though she easily managed them. Sitting up, her gaze found Zeus, and she smiled, a knowing, relaxed smile. She even knew how all of her powers worked. Just like that. Without thinking or trying, Athena had complete control.

She then stood up, looking at everyone else who were still in the process of changing. The beautiful Aphrodite, Ares who was looking more or less monstrous, Artemis (her mind gave her the names matching everyone), Apollo and then sweet Persephone. She even knew their real, human names... how, she wasn't clear on just yet, but she suspected it had to do with Athena being the Goddess of Wisdom. She just hadn't known the true extent of her knowledge until now. Glancing at Zeus once more, she asked the question that had been on her mind for a while, though she'd had trouble sorting it out properly. And I was considered a genious among humans. How... interesting.

"How did you know how to find us? I know who you are... all of you, which is a little weird. Knowing the names of people I have no memory of meeting." She smiled, casting glances at both Poseidon and Hades before returning her gaze to Zeus. "And I have a pretty decent idea of the why. But what I fail to comprehend, is the how." Though her eyes were pretty much sparkling with intelligence, she hadn't lost her curious glint. The whole foundation of the human she'd been a couple of minutes ago.

(Guess she'll be waking up AFTER Poseidon and Zeus comes back inside. xD I just saw Poseidon's post. Woopsy.)

Poseidon stood there staring at Zeus, looking rather impatient. His brown hair blew widely in the spring wind, his green eyes glistening. Then, Zeus lost his posture and looked tired all of a sudden. He leaned against the railing and go that look on his face. That face was the real Desmond, no pompous Zeus who saw everyone as a means to an end. Genuine concern came over Desmond's face.....almost guilt, when he began to explain his reasoning behind why he had said what he had said. “It’s an effort to prevent them getting too familiar with one another and to remind them they have responsibilities now
” Desmond glanced down at the city glumly, “We don’t know how relation between two of us will work out, nor do we know if it’s even possible. More over there is an issue with the plan and everyone getting too friendly.” Trenton thought about it for a moment and began to settle down, realizing the truth in his friends words. He looked past Desmond and saw the moon beginning to rise.

Trenton walked over to his friend and leaned his back against the railing, facing opposite from Desmond. He pulled out a normal cigarette, stuck it in his mouth and lit it. He took a big drag and puffed it out. Desmond began to speak again. “It’s not beyond the possibility that they may be forced to bring one another down at some point, for the good of mankind and all, so it would be better if we tried to avoid getting overly attached to one another
after all you and I already know that we may have to kill each other eventually. I figure not letting them know one another's name is less of a harsh reality.” Desmond then glanced over at him. "You disapprove?" Trenton took another drag on his cigarette, the glanced over at him. It was quiet for a time. "No. If worst comes to worse, it would be a kindness, it's true. Though, it would be nice to let them know a little happiness before that day comes." Trenton said in a very neutral tone. "But, the deed is done." Trenton then turned fully to face his friend.

"Desmond......your my oldest friend. Your also the best friend Ive ever had. I hope that day never comes. But know, that if it comes, I will do what is necessary." He said, his face turning rather serious at the end. "And I pray for all of our sakes, that you will too." Trenton said looking Desmond square in the eye. His face then turned more casual and he leaned against the railing as well. Trenton simply waited for Desmond to say they should go back. He enjoyed the bracing evening air, and the smell of the Atlantic.

Elsie looked around. She heard bits and snippets of some conversations, but couldn't catch all of it. Then suddenly she heard the guy calling himself Hades say. "Do you want proof?" She stared at him. He didn't seem like a bad guy, just his title or whatever it was called was funny. She then heard the guy Zeus say, “As you wish
” Right when Elsie was questioning what that meant she was thrown back in her seat and seemed to be electrocuted. Then she blacked out.

When Elsie woke up she could hear the girl Athena talking and asking a lot of questions. Elsie thought to herself and swore that a couple minutes earlier she was calling herself by a different name. She did look around and notice that some of the people that were their earlier were gone. As Elsie thought to herself about what she missed she suddenly felt a strange sensation. She felt like the plants could talk or something, which was really weird. Then she noticed there were small vines creeping up from the ground. Elsie then got up and touched them. Immediately Elsie was caught in a bright green light. Soon flowers started to fall in he room like snow. They were all multicolored and of many different kinds. At the end of this display the light turned black. The flowers soon lost their color and were black too. Then it suddenly ended. Persephone opened her eyes which glowed with a soft light. Then she fainted.

Athena

Athena, having been up for many hours, was the first to be lead to brunch. She sat down at her seat from before, recognizing it as her seat already, mostly due to the nameplate however. She smiled softly at Zeus, and though she still felt terribly embarrassed by the episode the night before, she hid it well.

"Good morning," she said, though she noticed he was occupied by the paper in his hands. She also took note of the decorations in the room, smiling to herself. She was dressed in black shorts and a lightblue top, so unusually casual considering her usual clothing. She didn't seem all too comfortable sitting there in that outfit, but Serina had insisted she wear something sporty, so reluctantly she'd changed, wondering what Zeus had planned for them this day. Exercise certainly wasn't her strong suit; she'd never taken gym, and physically, she was weak a baby. She hated running, she hated sweating, and she absolutely hated being pushed around. Besides... she was Athena. Goddess of war, true, but the gruesome, bloody part of it belonged to Ares. She would be happy not fighting a day in her life.

She ordered breakfast off the menu when Serina asked, but other than that, she merely sat there, waiting for the others to arrive. She didn't want to interrupt Zeus anymore than she had to, and at this point her mind was oddly devoid of the questions that had otherwise been drowning her. She knew they'd come back though, but she was thankful for the break, mostly because she suspected they might be told in time. If they weren't, then she'd question Zeus once more, but until then, she'd wait. Patience, after all, was a virtue.
