Selesynia DuNalthis

"The Harlequins are right, in that there is a plague threatening this land. However, we cannot solve this dilemma through bloodshed; we must protect the defenseless, show them mercy... and the Light.

0 · 540 views · located in Lunalake Island

a character in “Memoria Irae”, as played by Abraxas_Axis

Description

Name: Selesynia DuNalthis

Age Group: The younger side of the Second Age

Gender: Female

Height & Weight: 5'6", 115 lb.

Morphology: Truncamorph - When Selesynia's first dream manifested, it destroyed her hands and feet, leaving strange, glowing holes where the limbs would be. She moves about and interacts with objects using telekinesis.

Appearance:

Image

Profession/Hobby: Missionary of the Light

Magic/Abilities: Selesynia has many useful abilities. She is a telekinetic, able to move objects - and occasionally creatures - with her mind. Using her telekinetic abilities is done at-will with no drawbacks - without it, she wouldn't be able to do anything! (See Morphology) She also has light manipulation; she can generate light from the cavities within her wrists and ankles. Uniquely, this light can be generated in one of four forms; plasma (regular light), gaseous (a cloud of a neon-like substance), liquid (bright streamers of glowing liquid), and solid (basically laser beams), though she uses this last one rarely, as she abhors combat. She will only use it in self-defense, and even then only if the need is dire.

Gear: Selesynia wears armor made of a mixture of banded steel plates, cyan leather and warm, white cloth. The outfit makes her look like a cross between a justiciar and a saint, and is for self-defense. She also has a satchel that contains parchment, ink, important letters, travel rations, a waterskin, etc.

Brief Bio: Almost celestial in her beauty, compassion and mercy, Selesynia is perhaps one of the most kind people in Memoria. She goes out of her way to aid strangers, and always tries to see the best in people. This can make her rather naïve at times. While she is sweet-hearted, she is no smooth talker; having lived an isolated childhood in a monastery of the Light hasn't really taught her many social norms. There are many things she doesn't really understand about the world. One thing is clear, however; while she does agree with the Harlequins in that there is a plague upon this world, she believes that the best way to vanquish it is by defending the weak and showing them mercy, rather than killing those deemed heretical. While she is accepting of those who do not follow the Light, she often subtly tries to get people thinking in the ways of her religion.

At the dawn of a new day, light shines on the landmasses below from the glow of the Great Memorian Tree, whose branches reach throughout the realm. Gradually the wildlife began to stir, and the warble of birds filled the air... or rather, this would normally be the case, but it seemed a bit less noisy than normal. It was the same in Lunalake City, the outbreaks in the lower islands, along with the threat of the Harlequins had people slightly hesitant, and actively trying to avoid its mention. After a while, it'd go back to commune and business as normal.

In the city hall building, however, shut in and away from the wandering eyes and ears of the average citizen, a different life was going on, as representatives tried to reconcile what to do about the ongoing threats that menaced their peaceful lives. It was fairly heated, with many disagreements abound.

"What if we pay them? Maybe they'll leave us alone! Everyone likes money these days, right?" one yelled out, clearly uncertain of his own words.

"Of course it is money with you, it is always money! We should fight back!" a woman screeches.

"Oh and I suppose you'll fight the Silence too!" another woman yells.

"D-don't mention that thing..!" a man whimpers. "You'll draw it to us!"

"You are all so... noisy..." a dry voice mutters, yawning. The room goes quiet and all eyes look back. For much of the meeting, Abdown had remained silent, to the point that most forgotten he was there. "I skipped my morning tea to attend this, you know? And hours in, there's been no progress."

"If you would actually participate for once, maybe, just maybe we'd actually get somewhere for once!" one snapped after a brief silence, only for the others to try hushing him. "But excuse us if we've interrupted your beauty sleep!"

"Ah," Abdown muttered, standing up from his seat, standing tall over the council members, stepping over them to stand over the man, looking down on him with intense eyes. "Somebody with guts, am I to take this as volunteering to be the one to take up action?"

"Uh," the man muttered as he shrunk down some.

"Help reform the guard, to capture these rogues and bring them in? Perhaps you want to take on that beast girl that has made the eastern woods her domain now?" as he said all this, the man quietly sat down and looked down in shame. Abdown sighed and backed away. "Of course not," he muttered, sighing before heading towards the door.

"S-sir, the meeting isn't over yet, we've still not reached a-" one began to say.

"As was last week, and the week before that, and the week before that, and so on, and so on," he said in a monotone voice. "Perhaps we've grown too soft, too cushy in our little revelries. We never will reach a conclusion, and we'll keep going as we have, til the end. Oh well. See you all next week, adieu." With this he unhooked his cane from the doorknob, opened the door and left out into the streets, shielding his eyes against the light as he does so. Giving no direct glances at the citizens he set out to head straight back to his tower.

The morning light of the day shined over their island city, and in the morning a large man leaned against the city hall building. Although many people simply walked by minding their own business, he himself had a mission in mind. And that was listening on the meeting by the council. And boy did he get a nice chunk of info over their banter from the hours they were speaking. And the most notable thing he could take from this was a menance threatning the peace. And one was in the eastern woods.

Of course he did not simply lean on the wall listenening for hours doing nothing, he was burning through a pack of smokes to help pass the time. And eventually the door opened up and a man walked out, one of the council members seemed to have walked out early. He simply stayed on his spot to see what else the council had to say. If there was a danger then he would do something about it.

Well this is going wonderfully. Aeila looked up from her slightly tattered book and shook her head at the chaos that was this meeting. She chose a seat in the corner of the room, not really wanting to get involved in the back-and-forth arguments taking place. She didn't truly think that an agreement would ever take place, there were so many voices going on at once, all with different opinions. Her stance was that something should be done, they will only invite horrid things if the city sits on their behinds, twiddling their thumbs - but she didn't see it fit for her to say something, she doubted people would listen.

Aiela pulled out her little pocketbook and pen from her belt and started writing down some notes from her book, dog-earing pages she wanted to take a closer look at later when she's back in her shop. She looked around at the scene, she could see Abdown was staying quiet, he seemed to be on the same wavelength as her, she chuckled softly to herself. Oh, I just love my city, she thought.

She was just about to return her attention to her book when Abdown spoke at last. She liked his ideas, taking action as soon as possible would be the best course of action, but of course no one wants to commit to any one thing. When Abdown walked out, Aiela took that as her cue to make a quiet exit, she wasn't gaining anything more from this meeting and they weren't benefiting from her either. As everyone in the room went back to their discussion, Aiela silently got up from her seat and slipped out the door, her ears welcoming the quieter streets. She was about to take a leisurely stroll back to her shop when she saw a rather large man leaning up against the building, smoking away. "You sure you want to spend your time eavesdropping? It's quite boring in there, I doubt anything will come of it.", she called over to him.

What a beautiful city, Selesynia DuNalthis thought as she wandered through the city of Lunalake Island in amazement. The sun was shining through the branches to the Great Tree. All around her, strange people walked around her, talking in different dialects and wearing different clothes, each expressing different powers. I think I might like being a missionary here.
Suddenly, dark clouds began to move over the sun, and a peal of thunder sounded. What in the name of Light?! she thought as cold, hard rain began pouring down around her. People shouted and ran for shelter from the biting water; a few were shouting about this being the Harlequin's work. It did have a supernatural look to it.
In any case, Selesynia ran for the nearest building, a great marble hall. As she was flying through, lost in thought about religious things, she bumped into someone. "Oh!" she exclaimed, falling to the ground as she ricocheted off the body of someone. Groaning a bit, she looked up to see a towering man with a red-feathered bird head. "Oh dear, I'm so sorry, I was not paying attention," the missionary said, flustered. Great first impression there, she thought to herself.

Feeling something collide with his legs, Abdown seized in place. Quietly he stood still like a totem or statue, until holding out one of his gloved hands to catch a few drops of rain. Spinning around his cane, hooked into one finger, he placed one hand around it and pushed upwards, with a snap, it magically opened with a burst into a large, slightly luminous, midnight blue umbrella, even though no mechanism had been seen prior. It was large enough to cover both him and the visitor.

"The fault is mine, I was thinking of the destination, rather than the path," he said, somewhat cryptically, looking down at her. "Welcome to Lunalake City, I am the governor of this city, Abdown. I... presume you are new here? You see, I am normally quite well with faces," he continued, looking out at the the rain and panic. "Unfortunate that it is under such conditions you chose to visit here, my people are rather on edge these days. Regardless... ah... where are my manners? Who might you be, and is there anything I could help with?"

Back at the city hall building, they continued to bicker among themselves, now on what they might do about this situation. There was a cough heard at the front, small as it was, trying to get their reaction, but they didn't pay it any mind, not even when the unseen figure coughed louder. With a frustrated grunt, two gloves were tossed aside from behind the podium, and two small clawed hands reached up grabbing the edge of the podium and a short figure pulled itself up and scrambled up on top of it, a top hat rolling off the figure's head as they struggled. The room heard this, finally, and turned to look. On top was the mayor, Leopold Reinhardt, and unfortunately the younger brother of one of the Harlequins. His first vision had landed him in a rather laughably diminutive form, with a long thin tail and big ears, his hair an off-blond, a pink nose, green eyes, and overall young mousey appearance wrapped up in a small tailed coat and suit custom tailored to his short stature. Few will admit it, but he was mostly elected because of his looks. He caught his breath and adjusted his tie and looked out at staring eyes, nearly falling off in shock.

"I-if I may..." he began with a squeak, before clearing his throat trying his hardest to deepen his voice into something presentable. "IF I may!"

"Just get on with it!" a man yelled out, causing the mayor to nearly fall onto the floor again, wide eyed.

"Hey, don't yell at li'l Leokins!" a woman yells out.

"H-hey, stop that... wait... li'l Leokins..?" the mayor began, before clearing his throat again. "Anyways! I have a proposal! Since no one in the city is really a fighter, we could just... hire some that can..?"

There was a bit of murmuring in the room.

"Wouldn't we have to pay them though..?" one asked.

"Well, yeah, duh," he murmured to himself. He then coughed. "I-I mean... of course there will be a reward. Honestly, the ends justify the means here... I-I mean... right..?"

There was more murmuring, and then, finally a collective agreement that it was better than nothing, bringing the meeting to close. And a few went out into the streets putting up wanted posters for the Harlequin gang, particularly outlined was the disturbance in the eastern woods.

Catching one of them putting up a flier on a street lamp, Abdown looked over at it and after reading it for a moment, sighed. Figures as much, the only thing they'd agree on with a problem is to make it not their problem, he thought to himself.

"Well, I thank you kindly, sir," Selesynia smiled as he shot up an umbrella from his cane, righting herself telekinetically. "I am Selesynia DuNalthis. I am a missionary from... afar, and my faction, The Light, has sent me to spread our message to the world. A way to... 'to fix'? I apologize, I am not very fluent in this language." She jumped as another crack of thunder sounded, rain pelting down on the shining city. "Perhaps we should move out of the rain before we discuss anything else?"

As the large man was listening on the conversation, the door opened up once more as another person had left the meeting, however this time the woman who had left had called out to him about evesdropping. Well, so much for not being seen...Well...He was a large man after all so everyone could easily see him coming a mile away...But that was besides the point. “Me? I’m just a man having a smoke...Oh who am I kidding, you already knew what I was doing here so there is no use lying.” The large man gave a heavy sigh.

“Even if it is boring, some information is rather important to me. And I heard something important. Those Harlequin’s...I heard they are causing quite the chaos lately...And I’m a man who is not content to lock himself in his home to let them have full reign of the place...I prefer to use force to stop their force.” The man replied as he took a puff from his smoke as the collection of people in the meeting finally ended their meeting and began to put up wanted posters. Looks like they were finally acting in a way...

He walked up to one of the posters and took it off the wall it was hanging on before turning to the woman. “I’m a man with an arm made for justice. Listenening to talk may be boring but once it’s done, the real hunt begins.” He spoke.

Abdown looked at his hand some more, still perplexed that this rain had only started around the time he had left the building. It wasn't in the forcecast, and the way it had come out of nowhere offered him no comfort. He began to think it over, taking a moment to observe each droplet of water, and found it to be only more peculiar. Around the city, or more specifically, around him the water had begun to form into a pattern of puddles of multicolored... goo. He looked back to the girl, raising his head a bit.

"Perhaps you are right," he said, raising his hand as the puddles began to bubble, and with a snap of his finger, a force overtook the two and moved them a few feet from their previous position. Where he had stood, the puddles had formed into fingers and closed in on each others into a fist where the two once stood. The ones putting out flyers dropped the papers onto the ground as they looked in shock, as did the few residents still about on the streets. Abdown adjusted his tie as he looked back at the hand as it melted back into an inert puddle. "You know, if you wanted an audience, you could have just sent an invitation," he said, likely to the assailant hoping that they could hear him, a casual tone to his voice despite the attempt just made upon his person.

There was a whoosh in the air above him, but again he snapped a finger, this time warping over near Raimondo. Where he had once stood, a round blue cage slammed down hard, embedding itself in the ground, cracking the concrete of the sidewalk, before it started to melt into goo shortly thereafter. The residents fled for shelter, yells of panic could be heard.

"You, sir, an attempt is being made upon my person from an unseen artistic assailant, would you be inclined to assist me with that arm of yours?" he said, still unusually calm but quicker with his speech. He already had a good idea on the who, but not much on the why, as for the what, that was clear, they were out to take him, and by the looks of it, alive. Puddles began to form around him again, now more massive, covering even more ground than before. Nine massive tentacle-like protrusions burst up from the puddles, and attempt to grab Abdown all at once.

“Raimondo Ceci, I’m just a lone vigilante.” He returned the greeting as he returned the gesture to handshake with his more normal hand. Of course, the woman he had met Aeila was now looking closely at his robotic arm. Perhaps her inner tinkerer woke up as she was looking at his arm. However as she began to pull at his arm a bit he gave a sigh until ultimatly she let go and apologized.

“Well, it’s not often someone wants to examine my arm. But I’ll think on it in the event I need a tune up or an upgrade. Anyways, I better get a move on. The faster I get out the faster this whole mess is done with.” He replied giving a wave as he began to walk away. “Time to show these jokers some trouble of my own.” He spoke however his walk was interrupted with Abdown suddenly warping near him.

Before he could ask some cage formed around him and began to melt into goo. He then asked for assistance is a rather calm tone. No doubt it was a harlequin at work. “Change of plans then! I got your back governor!” He spokeas steam left his robotic arm as he got ready to fight.

Aeila's head whipped around as she heard the cracking of concrete and a loud commotion from behind, she stood in place, bewildered at what she was witnessing. There was the governor, unusually calm under the circumstances, being attacked by structures being formed from multiple puddles. Someone is attacking the governor in broad daylight? Aeila watched as Raimondo sprang into action, his robotic arm releasing steam from various small vents, the complex machinery beginning to grind as prepared to defend Abdown.

Aeila's eyes widened as nine giant tentacles suddenly burst forth, There's no way they can handle all of that by themselves. Without wasting any more time - putting her hand to the hilt of her sword - Aeila began to ran towards them, and brandished the inscribed blade at the tentacles, the runes glittering on either side of the blade, interrupting the tentacles attempt at seizing Abdown. "Who'd you piss off at that meeting, Governor? Any idea who or what this is?" Aeila asked Abdown, moving closer to the group.

"By the Light!" Selesynia exclaimed as strange tentacles began to sprout up around her. "What sorcery is this?!" Brandishing her arm-tubes, she began to secrete a searing light that would blind any foolish enough to attack her - assuming this creature had eyes.
"Sir, I am sorry to bother you at this time, but do you have any idea who could be doing this?" she asked Abdown.

The tentacles splattered into what appeared to be paint. It fell inert, lifeless, as if what had motivated it to move and attack before had left it. Abdown took his moment of reprieve to study it more closely, even going so far as to take a sample between his gloved fingers.

"Well, I can tell you this much on the what: these seem to be manifestations of quite a profound form of creation magic, quite potent, but its true potential is wasted in its hasty construction," he said, taking out a handkerchief and wiping his hands. He then looked down at the ground and saw that small spatters of this same paint were trailing off somewhere. He followed the trail with his finger. "The who... well, I can say for certain, they were not expecting any resistance here, or a sudden flash, for that matter. To be fair, on a normal day, they'd have gotten away with this."

As he followed the trail with his finger, he found at the source a tall figure walking out towards the gates into the fields, all the while rubbing their eyes. The figure was clothed in brilliantly colorful ornate robes, which were seemingly starting to melt down into colorful goo.

"Ah!" he said waving his finger at the figure. The figure turns to look at him, but their face is obscured by some kind of animal mask. "Huh... well... that's... not even the least bit inconspicuous. What has the city watch even been doing this entire time?" he said, as the figure turned and began to run.

Expecting some sort of horrific beat to suddenly appear and attack...His expectation were a bit weakened as the tentacles simply splattered like water balloons and sprayed...Paint? Yeah, it exploded into paint. After the momentary surprise, the goveneor went to investigating the paint as Raimindo had both his arms raised expecting to punch some creature that would suddenly pop up.

That was until a figure caught their attention. It was hard to miss, a very colorful robed figure which seemed to melt into goo. Obviously that was not a normal sight. As the figure took off he narrowed his eyes and yelled with vigor as the big man began to run as fast as he could. “Hold it! I got you now!” He yelled as he was not very graceful nor very fast as he tried his best to catch up.

Aeila's shoulders relaxed when the tentacles splattered onto the ground, so quickly they came and just as quickly, they disappeared. She still held her sword up, just in case they weren't actually retreating, and watched Abdown inspect the colorful goo painting the ground. "I don't know how you could be so calm at a time like this...", she said quietly. Suspecting that the worst really was over, Aeila walked over to a colorful puddle and bent down on one knee, inspecting the goo. "This is quite strange, however. I've never seen anything like this before in the city.", she sheathed her sword back on her hip and took out her pen. She carefully dipped the back of the writing utensil into the goop and slowly lifted it up, watching the goo form a long sticky string and then drop back down into the puddle.
She was so engrossed in her investigation she didn't hear Abdown mention the presence of the possible assailant. She only looked up once Raimondo took off barreling down the street. Aeila didn't get a chance to see exactly who he was chasing after, only the glimmer of the same multi-coloured goo coming off from the person's body, looking identical to the tentacles threatening them earlier. "I wonder...", Aeila's voice trailed off as she lay her hand, palm down on the hard ground. As she moved her hand from left to right, a bright light began to emanate from her hand, revealing a few runic symbols now etched into the ground, glowing silver. Hand still to the floor, she looked up towards where Raimondo was running, and in a few short seconds, a loud blast went off some ten feet in front of him; large cracks appearing and the ground giving way - Aeila hoping that the assailant had been caught in the blast. Quickly, she ran towards Raimondo, her eyes scanning the newly made pit and strewn debris in the area for any signs of the person.

Vortahar was kneeling on the dirt of the Lunalake University 's herb garden, a small bucolic hidden gem, practically unknown to most of the students. Wearing a dirty apron over his tunic, he was having a hard time trying to imbue a simple healing spell in a Witch Hazel flower.

"You are not yourself today, Vort...", Drayden, his herbal lore master, placidly suggested standing behind him. His tall and slender insect form clicked at the slightest movement.
"It's alright, master...I...It's nothing", said Vortahar, trying to dismiss the matter.
"What troubles your mind?", insisted Drayden, crossing his arms and tilting his head making his antennae touch as he usually did when he wanted a straight answer.
"It's just that..." Vortahar hesitates to explain, "with all that Valerian tea you insist giving me, I'll never have my First Vision. All the others are being gifted with wondrous abilities and spells while..."
"We have been through this, boy...", Drayden said rather roughly but then sighed and continued, "Don't you understand? We are facing imminent war. Those that don't control their dreams are being mustered by the dozen for the other side. You are too young and besides, the later you get your First Vision, the stronger it will become."
"If I ever have it...", Vortahar pouted ironically.
"Enough! I don't want to see you around here until you start thinking rationally! Go home now, boy, class is over!", raged Drayden.
"Fine!", yelled Vortahar.

Vortahar quickly dropped the spade and fork he was holding on the earth and left with a sulky face. As soon as he crossed the university's gates a loud blast shook the cobblestones he was walking on. He yelled and crouched with fear covering his ears. People started to run in panic, shouting and tumbling into each other. He realised the blast came not far from the City Hall Building and started to run in that general direction, dodging the people that was fleeing from it. His heartbeat accelerated, his whole body shaking but his young curiosity sometimes made him do stupid things. "Was this the work of the Harlequins?" he thought.

Vortahar was nearly without breath when he saw heavy dark smoke coming from a small crater, a man and two women walking warily towards it, debris scattered all over the place. He decided to watch the scene at a distance behind a rock when his eye caught something very odd: a puddle of coloured liquid close to his feet. He quickly probed his pouch for a small vial and collected a sample of the goo.

Vortahar grins. "Oh, master, you're going to like this." he whispered.

Abdown raised an arm over his face as the explosion occured. "Ah... a bit much, don't you think?" Abdown muttered as he lowered his arm to observe the aftermath of the blast. As he watched, he noticed Aeila approaching the pit. Something laid at the bottom, that was for sure, stirring as it were at the bottom. "You should be careful, as unrefined as it may be, it is no less an incredibly potent form of magic."

As he made his warning the figure in colorful clothes stood up, looking about at their melting visage, the mask beginning to distort. They growled, holding their head, barely audible, with a voice so hoarse, they have to force the words out, but somewhere in it could be discernible as "they couldn't fight before," and "useless, useless, useless!" The pit soon filled with the viscous paint-like fluid, an agitated scream bubbling forth as the fluid twists, and emerging violently, a rather large form turning into a large clawed hand reaching upwards and slamming down beside her attackers, another soon following, as the rest of the body emerges spraying paint every which way. While once an elegant form, now stood as a sizable monster standing on all fours. Sharp teeth lining a large maw, forelegs sporting long thin clawed fingers instead of paws, multiple bushy tails ending in dropping tips like paintbrushes swayed frustratedly, wildly flowing blueish hair ending in white tips, patches of blue down the back and on the shoulders, decorated face with blue markings like a form of warpaint. The large mutant Memorian bore their teeth and growled jumping back from the group.

"Please, do calm down, perhaps we can discuss thi-" Abdown began to say, but the being yelled and, with an impressive display of power and speed, spun around and, with flicks of its tails, created wave after wave of paint based projectiles, a few tearing through the ground to show them as having more force than the softness of it displayed before.

After the explosion erupted a few feet in front of him, the large man skid to a halt as he figure he was chasing was apparently caught in the blast. Looking intonthe pit there was something stirring at the bottom of it. Eventually it was clear that it was a bubbling paint like substance...And then a claw formed from it and slammed near them. And the once humanoid like colorful figure turned into a massive colorful creature.

It would fire a spray of...paint...And it looked more similar to hardened objects as it torrent the ground. “Sorry governor, looks like it’s not going to be in a mood to talk! Let’s bring this threat down!” Raimondo raised his mechanical arm as steam vented from the arm as he aimed it at the beast. “I am the arm of justice! For the sake of the people I’m bringing you down!” He shouted as a blue shined across his arm as a laser fired from his arm sending him skidding back slightly.

Aeila jumped back when the giant claw slammed down mere feet from where she was standing. She watched in awe as a huge creature began to emerge from the colourful goo, various body parts forming in seconds. "Uh.. I think I just made it angry.." she trailed off, not having a clue what the best plan of action was. They didn't even know what this thing was, and it didn't look like it was hurt at all by her explosion. Would they even be able to fight it?

She looked over at Raimondo as he shouted away at the monster, no ounce of fear in his voice, she was baffled by how confident and courageous he was, rushing in to fight the beast without a second thought. "You are a madman if I ever saw one, Raimondo." she said. She had to admit though, seeing him attacking the creature with such gallantry was giving her the courage to stand against it as well. Aeila ran towards the monster, swiftly dodging its projectiles and slashing her sword at its right leg, as soon as she connected with the creature, she quickly jumped away, not wanting to get caught by its swishing tails or claws. She watched its movements closely, trying to gauge how powerful this thing really was. She needed to gleam as much information from it as she could so that they could take it down as best they could.

Vortahar was mesmerised by the scene happening before him. He had never seen such manifestation of evil and magic power in a creature. Still crouched behind a rock, he risked a good peek before he had to withdraw and dodge a paint projectile that nearly caught his forehead. What impressed him the most was that people were actually fighting it with extraordinary abilities. He recognised the governor standing near the fight and decides to try a ranged weapon he was secretly tinkering with. Drayden would not have approved, of course, letting a mere apprentice dabble with dangerous substances.

He clumsily reached inside his pouch and takes out a blowgun, actually a long cane tube with handles. Inside a small wooden box, he took a dart and let it absorb a viscous green liquid from inside a small vial. Drayden had told him that Dragonbane, which he stole from the University's dispensary, distilled from the mystic Purple Dulfir flowers that grew near Memoria Tree could knock out large beasts.
Vortahar inserted the dart into the blowgun and took advantage of the confusion when a woman charged the creature with a sword. He inhaled deeply and blowed the tube at maximum force calculating the trajectory of the dart to avoid friendly fire. Due to the size of the monster, it was a very easy target. He followed the dart with blazing eyes as it penetrated the creature's calf.

Vortahar sighed as it seemingly had no effect at all; it didn't flinch or scream. Nothing. But after some seconds, when the fight was getting pretty out of control, he noticed a very slight limp on the creature's left hind leg. He was not sure but it seemed that the monster's attack speed on the whole had lowered by a fraction.

The beast looked on in surprise, eyes wide, as Raimondo charged his attack. In panic, in the same instance the creature threw their right forelimbs to the side, fingers open paint-like goo spewing out and stopping in a stream in mid-air, drips aloft as colorful orbs, before quickly twisting around together, folding together into a new structure, stronger, becoming less goo and more semi-fluid metal. The fluid had become an elegant blade, flowing organically from hilt-to-tip, fluid-turned-solid, yet still shimmering.

As the beast gripped the hilt of their newly crafted blade, they yelped as a pain came to their right leg, leaning some to the side. A frustrated shriek would follow, as the beast swung the blade directly into Raimondo's attack, causing the former to burst brilliantly in half, and the latter to split into two, one exploding magnificently in the distance behind the beast, the other splitting through some trees in the distance, going off into the unknown expanse away from the island. Both had singed opposing side of the beast's shoulders. Colorful flakes sparkled like fairy dust in the air from the destroyed blade, the broken off piece hurled into the air above.

The beast readied again, jumping back as tails flowed beside them, more paint flowing out and through the blade in an attempt to rebuild it, looking back and forth baring teeth at Aila and Raimondo, their ears drawn back as their expression became more concerned. They looked at their hand, noting a slight weakening quiver, and the slowing reaction time had become more apparent. A confused gasp escaped their maw.

"Not a very well organized assault," Abdown said, somewhat berating. "Rather messy, really."

The large beast would suddenly cast a glare down at the governor, but their eyes wandered up above him, something else catching their attention. The piece of the blade that was broken off from earlier now came plummeting down, quite massive in its own right, and was heading straight for the city! It had reduced to a heavy metallic blob, and from the amount of energy that was put into it moments earlier from Raimondo's blast, was aglow and unstable, resembling a colorful meteor.

Abdown followed the creature's eyes, catching a glimmer of something reflect in their eyes, and turned quickly and began to raise a hand, but the beast, to his surprise reacted faster, reaching out to the chunk, forcing it to go unstable. What followed was a brilliantly bright blast right above the city, the shock of which blew off pieces of roofing, and sent a heavy burst of air all around, as an aurora-like colorful ring rippled through the air outwards through the air. The beast panted, clawed hand still outstretched, beginning to shake again.

"Tch!" the beast finally uttered, nearly stumbling forwards from the chemicals finally spreading through their system. It was clear this fight was lost, and with a departing trick, the beast took the remaining piece of the blade, squeezing it into a ball between both hand and, pressing it into the ground, cupping hands over it. A blast of paint followed, launching the creature backwards and into the air to get enough distance away from the crowd.

"Well, that was interesting," Abdown muttered. "I was never in favor of division. Rejected just because of a bad dream? Ridiculous. It is no wonder they often become truly twisted into monsters by the Silence. This one, however... well, it is rare to see one unafflicted." Taking a moment to look at the damages, the governor dusts himself off. " Also... since when was Dragonbane filled darts standard use?"
