Introduction

Six friends grew up together. They went through everything together; elementary, middle, high school, trials and tribulations of teenage years. As the approached their final summer together before college threatened to spilt them apart for the first time in their lives, they decided to take one last trip to the place they owed their closeness to.

Because it was going to be their last time together, they had decided to stay one extra night on their camping trip. They never made it home. On the trip back there was an accident that put all six of the teens into the ICU on life support as they remained comatose. The only reason they survived the crash at all was because of the secret they shared. They were shifters.

The same camping trip they were taking as their last had been the one, years prior to give them their shifting ability. Their parents used to take them all of the time as children. One trip they went exploring and found a cave where there were relief drawings from Native Americans. Doing as children do, they tried to reenact what they saw on the walls. Only before they finished they found another set of drawings, partially destroyed, and tried to combine the two rituals together.

The first ritual they found was a traditional ceremony of finding one’s spirit animal. The second one when combined with the first one gave the kids the ability to shift into their spirit animals at will. Because they were not born on the tribes, it was forbidden for them to shift into their spirit animals. Unknowingly they had broken the rules of a land they didn’t know existed.

After the crash that put the teens into a coma, they were taken to the world they had corrupted those many years before. The world is full of danger, mystery and magic. The group has to come to terms with what happened to them, what they did, and learn the rules of the land and their spirit animal to escape back to their own world. The catch? They have to make a choice and for some it may be harder to give it up than to return the living.

The World

In the spirit animal realm the group has complete control over their animal form; no more having to worry about losing control and changing back. However, when the children performed the rituals as children, they corrupted the land they find themselves in. It caused famines, droughts, corruption to the political system, etc. This is the place where the Indians believed they went after death and is now being destroyed by the corruption these college students brought to it as children.
Description: The furthest edge is mountains that are covered by snow all year around. Coming off the base of the mountains are acres and miles of forest land. The forest slowly shifts to tall grasslands and then to plains. Off to one side skirting the grass and plains is a sea that stretches on as far as the eye can see. A single river over a mile wide at its widest area comes down off the mountain through the woodland; grass and part of the plains were it dumps into the sea. The opposite side of the world has crags and boulders that separate the plains from the desert. At the complete opposite side of the mountains sitting at the edge of the plains is the city. Mirrored almost like an ancient capital it holds all of the people. Now crumpling due to the corruption; it was once a glorious place.

Objective

This group of friends “wake up” to find themselves in a strange world. A world they corrupted as children without knowing it. They have to find a way to get rid of the corruption in the realm so they go back to their normal lives. But to do so, they face the issue of possibly having to give up the shifting abilities they grew up with. Keep the abilities or give them up for a normal life become the questions these teens face to save a world they didn’t know existed.

Re: Metamorphoses.2

We still have an opening for the last female of the group as well as any number of characters for those who already in the world.

Re: Metamorphoses.2

I will reserve you the spot, but not as a puma (cougar, same thing), because it is a feline and I stated in rules that I wanted no more canines or felines in all caps. We have three felines and two canines. No more.

Re: Metamorphoses.2

May i pls reserve the last female character? her spirit animal a cougar?

Re: Metamorphoses.2

Thank you very much! :)

Re: Metamorphoses.2

One of my favorite cats! Yes, I sure will. As of now though, we need something other than canines and felines. So last girl spot needs to be something different as well as the other characters, which just to clarify for anyone they are Indian. So we can see more variety in them as well.

Re: Metamorphoses.2

What an interesting role-play! Could I please reserve a female character, whose spirit animal is a snow leopard?

Re: Metamorphoses.2

I saw! I really hope we get people this time around that actually stay. Its going to be nice to give the characters a second go round.

Re: Metamorphoses.2

Hi, Spirit! Walt's up. :D

Re: Metamorphoses.2

Sacara has nothing to do with modern society. Everything is the way it once was. The only modern thing is found outside of Sacara where the teens are in comas, which will only be gotten to at the end of the rp.

Re: Metamorphoses.2

This looks interesting, but I have one question. What is civilisation like in Sacara? I'm aware that it's dystopian, but does it resemble Native American or modern society more?
