Excerpts from the Daily Prophet:

Minister Leach First Muggle-Born Minister!
"It is with great pleasure that the ministry is pleased to announce the appointment of one Mister Nobby Leach. We genuinely look forward to the great strides towards magical equality and creative freedom this Ministry is sure Minister Leach will strive towards. Appointed on this day, Friday the first of June we wait most eagerly for the Ministers first active day on the fourth. The Prophet is rooting for you, Minister!

Unrest in the Ministry
The Prophet is saddened to have to report that only weeks after the appointment of one Minister Leach the Ministry has lost close to a hundred workers. When we asked one such worker to leave the Ministry he had this to say: "It's a bloody disgrace it is! Having a Muggle as the face of the Ministry. When will everyone see we'd be much better off when the muggles are cut out of our world?"

Ministry Recruit Program a Minor Success
Despite the losses the Ministry has been facing these past months with the addition of our new Minister, Leach has never seemed stronger! A model of stability the Minister has taken the protests within the ministry in stride and with the potential uprising outside of the walls he has come together with a few other ministry officials and started a program that seeks new workers for the Ministry. Our inside sources tell us that this mission has been rather successful and the new recruits will begin on Monday the sixth of August. It is expected that with the addition to the Ministry's work force they will be able to more effectively take care of the wizarding world and perhaps even settle the unrest within London.

Summer brought with it the sort of muggy heat that had everyone indoors. The beat down upon the cobblestone streets of London and had a haze in the air as traffic slowly moved along. The large street of Diagon alley and even the shadowed streets of Knockturn were bare. Should a wizard have to make the venture outside they might be seen with a small pleasant shower of cool water showering over them as they walked. Or perhaps a fan that hovered in front of them blowing around the hot air. Despite the lack of presence outside the wizarding world was indeed bustling.

Deeper within London, the Ministry of Magic stood proudly for all wizards to see as muggles eyes seemed to slide right over it. Within the walls wizards raced around completing one task after the other. Today was the day many new recruits would be arriving, and so in preparation the eighth level, the Atrium, was being set up to receive a large number. Simple white chairs sat in rows of four all facing a large podium that had been conjured. The podium had a rather large carving of a dragon on its front and it looked down at the chairs with a rather regal and powerful gaze.

While Wizards raced around ensuring there were food and refreshments for the new recruits as well, a Minister Nobby Leach stood in his office on the First Level. He gazed out of his window down towards Level Eight and saw the tiny specs of white chairs. He straightened his robes a little and glanced in the mirror opposite his desk. He noticed his cap was a little askew and adjusted that as well. The mirror had come from Leach's old office and he used it for the same purpose now then he did back then.
"Alright you old boy." He said looking at his reflection. He glanced down to his desk and saw a copy of the Prophet and moved his gaze away from it before he could read the painful headline again.
Muggle Family Home left in Flame- Death Eaters Suspected

He thanked his lucky stars none of his family had been home at the time and made a mental note to ensure their protection. Perhaps his elderly father might enjoy Fiji. Nobby blinked a moment and then forced his vision back on his appearance. "Today you will speak. And today you will inspire young minds." He gave himself a thin lipped smile and noticed that despite only being in office for two months he was already loosing his hair.

The heat had kept her up all night, or at least that is what she would tell her family when she would venture downstairs for breakfast. In truth, the thought of the day to come and all her duties had kept her brain in overdrive. The thought of her disapproving parents should she mess up on the first day was also a driving force to be perfection itself. Gwen Andrews looked at herself closely in the mirror and lifted her wand to her face just under her eyes. Muttering a quick spell the dark circles under her eyes lessened and she turned away from her appearance. She had spent the last few hours ensuring that she would be perfectly presentable for her first day at the ministry.

She had tried on countless robes until finally settling on a soft green set. She curled her hair into soft waves with a bit of magic and then finally when she felt as if she had everything in place she descended the ornate staircase near her bedroom and down to the breakfast room. Her father was seated at the end of the table and her mother was next to him. Both were reading their own copies of the Prophet and she seated herself a few chairs down from them. Corry the Andrews House elf quickly scuttled up offering her mistress the copy of the Prophet as well and with a snap of her fingers Gwen watched as hot tea filled the mug set in front of her and breakfast took form on her plate. Without thanking the little creature she placed the paper beside her plate and glanced over the front page. There was more talk over the Minister and his Recruitment force that was to convene today.

Feeling a nervous lump in her throat Gwen turned over the paper and ignored the Ask Gerty section. Instead she focused on her food. Daintily picking up her utensils she dug in and ate a few bites. However she just was not feeling hungry. So she sipped her tea and glanced on over to her parents. She and her Mother made eye contact and Gwen sighed as the elegant woman placed down her paper and looked at her over the brim of her circle glasses perched ever so precariously on the tip of her nose.
"I take it you are prepared for today?" She asked in a regal voice. Gwen noticed her father stop reading as well and his dark eyes diverted to her face.
Straightening a little she nodded and said "Yes, mother. I've been placed on Level One as you suspected I would. I appear to be working close to the Minister." Her mother's brow furrowed a little at the mention of the Minister but she said nothing. Instead the elderly woman nodded and she returned to her paper. Pleased that was all the conversation she would have to endure from her parents Gwen stood and retreated from the breakfast room.

Once she was in the hallway she checked the time on the clock in the hallway and noted it was about time for her to leave. She gathered her bag from her room and then vanished with a soft crack. She appeared moments later in the dark tile halls of the Ministry. There were flashes of green fire as wizards used the Floo Network to get to work. Sighing a little she straightened her bag and headed for Level Eight, where all new recruits had been instructed to visit.

Once there she noticed a large table filled to the brim with an assortment of foods and drinks and she lifted her nose a little at the sight but deciding it might be rude to ignore it she poured herself a tea and found herself a seat. Already a few new recruits had arrived and she looked around wondering if she might get to work with anyone else. Secretly she hoped that she might be left in peace but she knew it was wishful thinking.

His home was an absolute mess. Clothes lay here and there and books littered the floor. Alex Gallagher looked at the chaos from his bedroom door and wondered to himself how on earth he had let it come to this. His hands were on his hips and he let out a long breath.
"I suppose we can do this the easy way or the hard way." He said to nothing in particular. He pulled his wand from his pale yellow robes and with a few intricate swishes and jabs the apartment was set to its rightful state. While it still might be considered a mess by some Alex was quite pleased with his clean up job and walked around to inspect his work. Sure the books were sloppily in the book case and out of order but hey, they were in the bookcase. Dishes were haphazardly in their cupboards and the doors remained open but to Alex it was perfect. He smiled to himself and sat down on his couch ignoring the cloud of dust that rose as his body sank into the old cushions.

Today was the day he became a regular working part of society again. No more travelling, but normalcy. He sighed a little and looked around at his trinkets that he had gathered from his excursions. Stability was a good thing he reminded himself. He stared for a long moment, thinking about his goals and priorities. Today he would become a dark wizard catcher. That would certainly be an adventure he reminded himself. However it did also mean he was required to do paperwork. Something Alex was not particularly fond of. Deciding to grin and bear it Alex decided it was about time to leave he stood and brushed off the dust. Once he felt he was good to go he stepped to his fireplace and grabbed a small bit of powder from a flower pot by it.

Speaking the name of the ministry he stepped into his fireplace and moments later steppe out of a ministry fireplace. He smiled a a few folks whom he made eye contact with and made his way up to the Atrium. There he noticed a table full of food and remembering he had not yet had breakfast he eagerly made his way there. Piling his plate full of pastries and other goodies he remained where he was just in case he wanted seconds.

The Ashwinder is a serpent that is created from the remains of any magical fire that is allowed to burn unchecked. As it is a serpentine creature, the Ashwinder may very well be susceptible to Parseltongue magic. Elias leaned back in his desk and looked down at his typewriter. Beside him dozens of pages lay face down, filled with information on various magical creatures. He smiled to himself and felt a large yawn incoming.

As he was breathing loudly a pure white cat named Finch jumped up onto his lap to rub her face fondly at his beard. Laughing a little he leaned back and allowed his friend to nestle against him. Once Finch was settled Elias rubbed a large hand over her fur.
"Hello there..." He said groggily. Finch meowed back to him and he placed a loving kiss on her head. Not one to be left out his other cat Atticus stood on his hind legs and leaned against Elias. He meowed up at his master and then looked towards their empty food bowl.

Elias followed the cats gaze and blinked in surprise. "I just filled that..." Sudden realization hit him and he straightened sending Finch falling to the ground. The cat made a small noise of protest but Elias didn't notice. "What time is it?!" He shouted to himself. He looked around for a clock and found it under a pile of paper and when he saw the time he let out a small noise of agony. "I wrote all night!? Damn it! I have to go to work." He stumbled towards his bedroom and pulled on the first robes he found.

They were a set of blue robes and they had a rather interesting stain near the leg. Deciding he could deal with the stain late he went about cleaning himself up as quick as he could and then with out even a goodbye to his cats he had vanished into thin air. Elias appeared in the main hall of the Ministry and then suddenly swore loudly making people look at him oddly. He flashed them all a grin and said, "I uh... forgot my wand." He vanished again with a little pop and then was back within moments holding a bag and hastily stuffing his wand in his pocket. He ran quickly for the Eighth Level and found himself a seat. Panting heavily he leaned back. "Oh god I'm out of shape." He muttered as yet another yawn overtook him.

Michael heaved a large sigh before finishing a very strong cup of tea in his office. Due to the shortage of manpower he was now solidly solidly amidst a triple shift - though the only real evidence would be a rippling inconsistency in his eye color until the drink reinvigorated him enough to force them back into their usual steely grey. Though he was grateful the extra extension of his labors was only to investigate the fire set to the muggle home. It was an affair that he had just finished filling out the paperwork for since he'd concluded his investigation. He fixedly stared at the mirror by his desk before finishing his dictation - magical equipment handling the more mundane tasks as he finished his final dictation.

" Given my earlier evaluation of the crime scene and the magics involved, I advise the dispatch of personnel from the Beast Division for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures in addition to the standard cleaning of the sight and the management of Muggles in regards to memories and access to the crime scene until such time we've had a second analysis and properly removed all evidence that could breach secrecy protocol. Finish and Submit to Department Headquarters." With the completion of his sentence, an enchanted quill set itself down and the paper folded itself before taking off from his desk. At the same time, a package landed on his desk - the results of a second opinion of a sludge he'd submitted from a previous report. Michael skimmed the contents as a grin grew on his face - it'd taken him a year but his attempt at recreating Paracelsus sludge had been a success. Beneath the note - further detailing the substance as restricted due to its extremely toxic nature and potential Dark applications was the remainder of his labors. He hand copied the details of its toxicity: consume Bezoar immediately before opening and drink concoction - allows drinker to speak and understand Parseltongue for exactly one hour. Do not consume again for a month.

Michael replaced this note with the original since only the key details of legality and effects were necessary into the package before placing the order "Forward to Beast Division - lord knows they'll be able to use it." The package took flight off his desk and Michael glanced at the clock...back to work. He grabbed the cane by his desk and hoisted himself to his feet, checked the dueling bracer on his left arm - check and wand accounted for therein. One final check at appearance: grey steely eyes, head shaved clean and appearance in order - check on all accounts. Michael lifted his cane to step forward and reappeared in stride on the Eighth Level...even as a veteran he was being forced to attend the new Minister's little party.

In the tiny cottage in the middle of a remote forest Ravana Octavia Grimm stood staring at the free feathers floating about what use to be her living room and the pleading for mercy eyes of her Irish wolf hound Kitty. "You, my dear are so lucky today is an important day at work." she growled in her musical voice. Kitty's victim was a feather filled purpled velvet throw pillow that in no way could be repaid see as Kitty had apparently eaten the expensive cloth. With another stern look at her goofy dog the young woman stalked into home office to grab the repots she had been writing on the 'correct' way to handle certain magical creatures without harming them of ones self.

Long dark brown hair rolled down slender shoulders and back to tickle the small of her back which of course caused Ravana to stop and spin to her bedroom, in her rush to make breakfast as she had woken late, and then the diabolical with Kitty, she had forgotten to get dressed. Once in her room she pulled on tight black pants and a cream colored shirt which she paired with her favorite dark plum robe. Pulling her thick hair into a pony tail she quickly returned to grabbing the thick stack of papers. As she rushed out of her house she snapped at the broom and dust pan, "I expect all the feathers to be cleaned up when I return home." Unlike most Wizards and even Witches she knew Ravana preferred to fly then to use Floo powder and she cant use Apparition so broom it was.

Upon entering the Ministry and making it up to Level 8 she released a pint up breath. Ravana wasn't the first to show but she defiantly wasn't last. That was a major plus seeing as she had been nothing but late to work and important meetings sense she had started working here. Picking a seat next to a handsome looking man in yellow robes she quickly swept her eyes over the others in the room. Her hazel eyes were calculating, trying to match physical appearance to a Division. There was no doubt in her mind that the out of breath man in the blue robes would be with her in Beast the messy, slightly crazed look about him matched her own and it matched the look her Foster Father, who had been the Care of Magical Creatures professor at Hogwarts, had. The Yellow robed man though she was stuck between Auror or Department of Mysteries, he had a kinda stuffy air mixed with almost too relaxed nature she had seen on them before. Getting stuck frustrated Ravana and she soon grew bored with her game.

Having been studying the stars for the past five nights and casting different spells under it and making a multitude of potions Timothy had yet to discovering any proof to the old wives tale that the stars and constellations present changed the effect of the spell. As far as he has been able to deduce, the power is unchanged and no special effects have been present but he wasn't going to give up yet. Obviously something had happened in the past to create the story in the first place.

When Whisky cried from outside his tiny flats balcony door he got up to let her in and noticed the time. Three hours before his first day, with a quick flick of his wand he had his apartment immaculate once again. Tugging on the cuffs of his navy blue button up and dusting his tan slacks he pushed up his glasses and headed to his bedroom for his wand and robe. Timothy, having been called cold all his life, was very minimalistic. Not caring for much except for his owls, his cat, his studies, and his appearance. The forest green robes brought out the hints of warmth and humor in his eyes and he quickly said goodbye to his loyal pets, the only things that seemed to really love him as he was.

It didn't take long for him to arrive promptly and hour and half early, he was the first person in the room. Choosing a seat three rows in and directly in the center. This would allow him to take in all the arrivals and see the speaker clearly. He enjoyed watching as everyone entered, the women in their soft robes that seemed to shimmer over the bodies, men in slightly uncared for robes. It was all very interesting for him. A small smile quirked up his lips, "Yes." he thought, "I am going to enjoy working here."

The four bedroom house in the suburbs was should have been quite, would have been quite had Victory not woken by her father telling it was six. Suddenly she was wide awake and rushing to get ready, because of the houses big size and the fact that it was almost empty of everything but necessities the sounds echoed. A quick shower, tripping over her dog Pepper, somehow managing to fall while putting on her under pants all happened in a matter of ten minutes. A cream colored skirt that reached her knees, a pale mint blouse and her teal colored robes went over.

Victory's cream heels made a little clicking sound as she hurried down to breakfast, grabbing a piece of toast as she brushed out her hair and left the damp auburn locks to dried as they pleased. Turning a look on her obviously amused she stuck out her tongue. "Don't laugh, don't you dare." she growled while finished her toast and grabbing her bag, making sure she had everything she needed including her wand and some paperwork and dashed off to the old fashioned fireplace her father had hand built in the backyard when she was in her 6th year. It was hidden from her neighbors but it allowed her to comfortably travel by Floo sense the fireplace in the house was to small to crawl into.

Grabbing a fistful of dust she got into the fireplace and saw her dad watching from the house, mouthing good bye Victory waved and dropped the dust while saying the Ministry. Arriving right on time she ran up the stairs to Level eight and entered the room as unflustered as possible. Sitting next to the blue robed man she smiled softly, still slightly out of breath.

Alis usually rose with the Sun, as soon as the first rays of light hit the windows of her bedroom she could no longer sleep. Stretching her arms over her head she released a gentle sigh. Her cat was at the foot of the bed still asleep on the smooth satin sheets. Alisia slipped out of the bed, threw on a silk robe and descended to the dining room. Even on the hottest of days, and it seemed todaywas going to be sweltering, the manor had a brisk feel to it, maybe it was the thick stone walls and maybe it was the emptiness.

Alisia sat alone at the table, she couldn't remember the last time more than three people sat at the table meant for twelve. The house elves brought out her breakfast and coffee. She ate alone in silence, the only sounds being her chewing of the croissant and the elves skittering around.

After the most uneventful breakfast Alis returned to her room in order to get ready. She was greeted by Persephone's meowing "Well well look who finally decided to wake up." Alis petted the cat and she responded by purring softly. "I can't stay and pet you all day, some of us have work to do." With a gentle smile she scolded the cat for laying around doing nothing all day.

Half an hour later Alis was ready, some eyeliner, a nude lip, simple but stylish black robes and her wand. Deciding against apparition in order not to mess up her hair she said goodbye to Persephone, approached the fire place and threw the floo powder.

Moments later she was at the Ministry. She was early enough so she slowly made her way to the Atrium. The food didn't interest her much and she didn't particularity care about the speech the Minister was going to make but it was obligatory to be here so she chose a seat near the back. There she could keep an eye on everything that's going on.

"Shh." - "How dare you shush me?" - "Will the two of you be quiet, you'll wake him."
From the bed Evan could hear the faint noise of voices but he was far to tired to unscramble what they were saying. He was up all night brewing potions and just wanted a bit more time to rest so he ignored the sounds and tried to sink back to sleep.
"Come on just put it on his head." - "No, he's gonna feel it and wake up." - "Just put it anywhere before he does."
He could feel something being placed onto his chest and moments later a piercing screech woke him from slumber. Evan's eyes shot open and he quickly sat up, the bowl that was placed on his chest turned over and it's contents spilled into his lap. The young man furrowed his brows in confusion, why was there owl food all over his bed? A quick scan of the room clarified the situation, his siblings were up to no good. Mina and Zane were giggling as Ariel brought Cashew, the world's meanest owl, into the room.

Evan washed his face and looked at the mirror sighing, he scratch on his chin stopped bleeding but it was not a pretty sight. Having absolutely no talent for healing magic Evan opted for a band-aid, he couldn't risk completely rearranging his face for his first day at work. He quickly changed from his pajamas into a grey tweed suit, green button-down and matching robe his mother said would be appropriate workware.

He descended to find the kitchen in complete chaos. Evan's mother and aunt were cooking what seamed to be a meal for fifty people, pots, pans, spatulas and other utensils were flying all over the kitchen, Zane was chasing Mina for Merlin knows what reason all while Mina's cat tried to climb onto the table and steal a piece of ham. There wasn't much time for breakfast so Evan simply downed a cup of tea. "Look at you all dressed up for work." Narin commented. "You look more prim and proper than the Minister himself." She added through laughter. "Mom picked it out, I think this tie will suffocate me before I even make it to the Ministry. Evan grunted. Narin chuckled and wished him luck. His mother gave him a proud kiss on the cheek and he was off.

One apparition later and he was at the Ministry of Magic. Evan loosened or at least attempted to loosen his tie, fixed the band-aid on his chin and headed for Level Eight. He wasn't late but there were already quite a few people at the Atrium he seemed to recognise a few faces from his time at Hogwarts. Would it be more awkward if I sit next to a stranger or someone I might have talked to once in school? Decisions, decisions. Luckly for Even there were enough empty the seats for him not to sit next to anyone.

Dialogue - #7E64A1 || Ministry Of Magic Level 8

As per usual, Ophelia was up at the crack of dawn. She was already dressed in her deep scarlet robes with a matching red lip, cooking breakfast when her brother stumbled into the kitchen, still half asleep. "How on earth do you do it?" Orion asks when he sees his fresh faced sister, wide awake and dressed while he was still wearing his pyjama bottoms with golden snitches all over them. Laughing softly at her brothers disheveled appearance, Ophelia merely shrugs before placing a steaming hot plate in front of him, "Not all of us are adored Quidditch players who get to make their own schedules," She retorts, then plating up some breakfast for herself and taking a seat with her brother at the breakfast bar. "That's not true, it's just not peak season so I don't have to train so much," Orion says, defending his profession. "You're right, it's a tough life being the adored seeker of the English National Quidditch team." She teases, watching her elder sibling scoff down his breakfast while she paced herself with her own.

Once breakfast was finished, Ophelia quickly jumps out of her seat and dumps the plates in the sink, "Well since I cooked breakfast and have an actual job to get to, you can clean the dishes," Ophelia grins cheekily, biting her tongue. Not giving her brother time to complain she kisses his cheek and heads for the door. "Lia, wait-" Orion calls out after her, which has her turning on her heels just as she is about to leave, "I'm really proud of you little sis," He beams and Ophelia can't help but feel her heart melt a little. Her brother was truly the only man she could trust. "I'll tell you all about it when I'm back." Ophelia promises hearing him shout out "Good luck!" As she leaves their apartment and heads for the lift.

Growing up in the suburbs, Ophelia wasn't quite used to the Muggle contraptions she's had to use since coming to London. Especially the lifts, they just baffled her. Of course she knew the mechanics of the thing but it just seemed so ugly she hated being trapped inside the steel coffin and much preferred taking the stairs but as she lived on the 9th floor, Ophelia figured she didn't really have time to spare traipsing down all of them today.

Finding her way to the exit, Ophelia headed next-door to the odd little antique shop most wouldn't even notice when walking past. Greeting Hector with a wave, the tiny man hobbles over to Ophelia and embraces the young girl in a hug. "Ah my dear, it's good to see you!" Hector was a dear friend of Ophelia's parents and quickly became hers once she moved to London. "Hey Hector - I'd love to chat but I have to get going." Ophelia apologises heading to the large fireplace that was hidden behind rows of old books and odd looking clocks. Most of them were used as port keys, although Ophelia didn't like to use them. She much preferred the Floo Network. "Oh of course you're starting at the ministry today," Hector gushes, seemingly more excited about Ophelia's job than she was, "Best of luck, and give your parents my regards when you next see them, would you?" The elderly man asks, smiling at the thought of his childhood friends. "Of course," Ophelia agrees stepping into the fireplace, "Bye now! She says before loudly announcing her destination and throwing the powder.

And with that, the girl disappeared. Before quickly reappearing in the Ministry. Taking a deep breath, Ophelia runs a hand through her cropped black hair and heads for Level Eight. She couldn't decipher whether it was fear or excitement she was feeling. Deciding it was probably a little of both Ophelia tries to push her anxiety to the back of her mind. While internally the girl was rather nervous, not a second of that worry played on her ever calm features. Finding where she figured the Minister would hold his speech, Ophelia notices a fair few people already in the room and takes a seat a few away from anyone else. Nobody seemed to be seated with someone else and Ophelia figured she'd follow suit. Besides, she didn't recognise anyone there.

He was finished with his pep talk. There was something about speaking to ones self that Minister Leach found very relaxing. He made sure his hat was on straight once more before he took a breath and was expelling the breath in the next instant in front of the large podium. The kind assistants at the Ministry had given him a stood to stand on and he adjusted his stance for a moment before gazing at the crowd. He felt his heart sink a little as the chairs were barely filled, but he forced a smile upon his face and lifted his wand to his throat.

Leach was well known for his soft spoken voice and so despite his close proximity to his new workers he still needed a spell to ensure it reached even the furthest seats. "Ahem... It is such a pleasure to speak to you at last. I have been looking forward to this day since the concept was brought to action. Now as you know there has been a recent protest within the Ministry against my heritage." He paused for a moment sweeping his eyes over the crowd looking for any signs of emotion. His hand felt a little sweaty upon his wand and he tightened the grip upon the Oak. "I can assure you that despite my origin of birth I have wanted nothing but good for the Ministry from even before the start of my term. It is my great hope that with your help we can perhaps change the minds of those who have yet to open their minds to the concept of an equal wizarding world, and so with each of you will be tasked to not only work for your department but to also join the occasional squad."

These Squads will be tasked not only to seek out those causing harm in society but to also reward those with a more forward way of thinking."
Nobby sincerely hoped that didn't sound as communist as he felt it had sounded. He sighed a little and continued, "I love the wizarding world. With all my heart, and I wish to see everyone safe and comfortable to not only learn magic but also to perhaps create more." His wand moved away from his throat and he conjured a large blackboard. White chalk cursive began to appear on the board and Nobby continued.

"On this board I have written each of your names and your level as well as department. I ask that you head there immediately and make yourselves known. The Ministry has its hands full no question, therefore it is reasonable to expect a task right away. Many of your departments will be sent out with other departments members. So it is a good idea to get yourselves acquainted with as many as you can." There was another long pause as his sad eyes scanned the crowd and then he said "The Ministry thanks you." And with that final word he vanished back to his office.

As more and more people filtered into the room Gwen felt herself holding tight to her arms. There was something about crowds that was so unsettling. There was faint click of wood against tile and her eyes flicked towards a man she was certain already worked for the ministry. There was something a little familiar about him, her eyes stayed on him for a moment. Then she forced herself to look away.

Among the others there were certainly a few faces that had been at school with her but she had never bothered to learn their names. "Names in school are unimportant. Remember the names of charms in stead. Use your brain wisely" Her mother had said to her in a letter once while she was still at school. Sighing a little Gwen forced herself to lean back. Just as she did the Minister appeared before them. He waited for people to settle for a moment before starting his speech.

As she listened Gwen couldn't stop her thoughts from drifting to her parents. She was certain they would have walked out of his speech. Her parents, being the elitists they were would not stand for the idea of equality. She forced herself to focus on the now rather than her parents and when the Minister was finished she stood and went to double check on the board where she was going.

She held her bag to her tightly and when she was sure of her location she stepped away before it got too crowded by the board. She somehow managed by the man with the cane and deciding it would be rude not to say hello she offered her hand in a polite handshake.
"Hello, I'm Gwen Andrews. I'm sorry but you seem a little familiar. Have I seen you at a gathering at my Parents estate?"

ALex found himself a seat with his plate. He had a few items left on it and was munching happily on a cookie. He was considering saying hello to a few of the folks that had already arrived but there was something in the atmosphere that made it abundantly clear that everyone wanted nothing to do with one another. People were grabbing seats away from everyone else and he sighed wondering if he would make any friends with the attitude being like this.

Just as he was wondering a lovely looking woman sat next to him. He offered her a kind smile and a soft hello just as the Minister appeared at the podium. He settled back in his chair and listened with interest as the Minister spoke of equality. Being a muggle born himself Alex found he hoped for the same sort of future. He munched quietly as he listened and near the end of the Minister's speech he noticed he had a single cookie left.

As the minister ended and vanished Alex leaned forward and looked towards his neighbor. "Hey there, I'm Alex. Want the last cookie?" He offered the plate with the single cookie to her, rather than a traditional handshake. "I'm starting out as an Auror today." He told her cheerfully. "Where about did you end up?" He felt he didn't need to check to board the minister had helpfully put up and instead decided to focus on what Leach had asked. He would make himself known to everyone he could.

Elias was still panting as another woman sat next to him, she also seemed rather out of breath and he chuckled a little. "I'm sure the ministry will have us in tip top shape in no time." He looked down at his tummy and found he had lost himself a little. Sitting a writing tended to make one a little out of shape for sure. She smiled at him and he returned the grin. He was about to introduce himself when suddenly the minister appeared. Elias settled back into his seat and listened carefully.

He found the speech to be a little demeaning towards pure-bloods but supposed the subject that had brought them together was that of inequality and therefore it was prudent to focus on the crowd being pushed aside. Still he wished perhaps the Minister would have said a few things differently. When the board appeared and the Minister left Elias stood and offered his hand to the woman next to him.
"Elias Coleman, Beast Division." He said a-matter-o-factly. "Pleasure to meet you." He mentally cheered himself on for the way he spoke and hoped it didn't come off at too forward.

Michael Nott
Location:Ministry Level 8 l #067330l Aurors Office

Michael took no heed to the words the Minister was speaking since politics didn't interest him much. Instead he surveyed the crowd with its various assortment of faces familiar, unfamiliar and a few a felt should be more or less in one direction than he could currently place. The speech was thankfully short so he was able to lean on the cane instead of actually sitting down and such extra motions and cautions it'd require. When the speech finished, Michael opted to stay in place short of some shifting in the crowd since there were people he needed to talk but still found himself somewhat trapped by the flow of the crowd. As he was trying to reevaluate his course of action one of the faces that he felt he should place but couldn't directly approached and provided and introduction of Gwen Andrews. Typical of pure blood upper crust, he could place the name and recognized the vague familiarity - both of their families were rather ardent on the importance of blood in wizardry. To properly return the handshake, he shifted his cane to his other hand.

" Michael Nott, so you're probably correct. Glad to see mine isn't the only family that recognizes our duty is to keep the Ministry stable regardless of the Minister." Michael couldn't help but leek a bit of disdain on the word Minister but couldn't explain his distaste for the man in asked.

" Miss Andrews would you happen to know to which group you were assigned? Pardon if I'm being rather abrupt but unfortunately I find myself slaving away due to short staff so I'll have to trouble you with my pace of things if you wish to chat - fire to muggle homes, proper clean up et cetera. I find myself in need of some Beast Division and another Auror for proper clean up and inspection." Michael had spoke a bit more than he intended, and couldn't quite keep the exhaustion from his tone at the end. However he'd managed to finally stand stalk still due to Gwen being in such proximity.

A bight smile graced Ravana's face, "How lovely, a cookie." she laughed while picking it up and taking a small bite. She eyes wondered briefly and her eyebrows furrowed slightly, she had been told she was needed at the meeting because she was to greet the newest additions to the Beast Division that every group was sending someone but yet she only saw a handful of 'veterans' about. Turning back to Alex she once again graced him with a smile, "Ravana, I've been with the Ministry for the past four years. I'm in the Beast Division. I'm 90% sure I was sent here because my supervisor is still upset I accidently released an Pixiu in the office. Not sure why he was so upset, there known for bringing luck..." she stated cheerfully. Standing to her full height of 5'2ft tall she brushed the crumbs off her pants. Doing a quick check that her almost overly long wand was in its in her robe pocket she smiled her good bye before heading toward Michael.

"Your being rude again Michael, I could hear you from where I was sitting." Ravana scolded in a professional but friendly manner " Any ways, what do you need help with? she asked, she was much less bubbly around him then she was around others. Turning to the girl before he could respond, "I'm Ravana Grimm. Your an Andrews if I remember correctly, we went to Hogwarts together." the statement was bubbled with cheerfulness that wasn't there when Ravana greeted Michael.

Though she was focused on the pair she had greeted her eyes had wandered to the messily blue robed man who was sitting with young lady in teal. Obliviator. Her mind decided on immediately focusing on her before moving back to the man, sooner or later she knew she would have to greet him. Probably give him a tour of their division sense her supervisor sent her as the greeter, yeah. It was going to be a long day of smiling.

Looking around him noticed several people talking so Timothy stood up to study the board. "Ophelia Kate"he said in his normal tone, flinching when his voice bounced off the walls and caused several people to turn toward him. A pink wave colored his checks before he schooled his features and they returned to normal, he hadn't meant to say her name so loud, he hadn't actually meant to say it out loud at all. He had just wanted to know the other people in his Divisions name.

Timothy turned slowly to watch the people in the room, noticed a prim and proper young lady talking to an older gentleman which of course caused him to wonder if the man was new like himself or was a senior in his department coming to greet the new faces. The second girl to walk over seemed far to cheerful for his liking but he noticed how she seemed comfortable around the man. It meant they knew each other. Senior workers then, coming to greet the newbies it seems.

Letting his eyes rove he by passed several other people, he took little notice in the man in the yellow robes whos plate had been full earlier, past the striking woman in black robes and the somber young man in grey with a bandage on his chin, past the blue robed man and the sweet but cold faced teal robed woman only to land on the young woman of Asian decent if her features were to be a hint. It was hard to miss her, those scarlet robes and all but he found a smile creep on to his face before he wiped it away. It was time to find his way to his new work space.

"Victory James" Victory responded in her soft voice, it was hard to hear it over the chatter in the room but sense he was right next to her he shouldn't have to much trouble, clearing her throat "Obliviator." she tried to say louder and succeeded. Smiled at the proud look on his face, obviously he was just as social as she which would make this a very proud moment, at least for her.

"It is also my pleasure to meet you." she responded, her voice was silky with truth but this was becoming tiring even though it had only been a few words. Victory wasn't use to socializing and she found it difficult to think of things to say. [color=#0d4950]"I should go see where I am to report to. I will probably see you around. Yes?" she stated but ended in a question. He really did seem nice and her father had said not to long ago she needed to get use to people. That she needed to get out more. When she had been reporting the muggle news things had been so easy. A script to follow, no nonsense just questions and answers not chit chat and no asking how they were.

Giving him one last look she stood to her full height of 5'6ft tall and gave him the smallest glimmer of a smile and headed toward the board where the dark green robed man was moving away from.

His handshake was firm and exactly the right length that one might expect from a person of social standing. Gwen remembered to keep her shoulders straight and despite her small stature she did her best to appear at ease yet regal. Something her mother was quite accomplished in. She nodded as Mr. Nott spoke of the stability of the Ministry.
"It is my hope to help in anyway I can." He asked her where she was assigned and rambled off a few positions that he needed and she blinked at him with her soft green eyes. "I am to be assistant to the Minster himself but I would be happy to help you find whom you are looking for."

She turned on her heel and gazed over the small crowd. It seemed however that her help was not required as a a dark haired woman approached them followed by the yellow robed man she had been speaking with. She accused Nott of being rude and Gwen couldn't fathom how the brunette had come to that conclusion. They were after all at work. She asked Nott what he needed help with and then turned to introduce herself to Gwen.

The woman's tone changed to a far more welcoming one as she introduced herself as Ravana and commented that they had indeed been at school together. Gwen gazed closely at the woman and then nodded. "Yes I am. I'm Gwen. I do remember you." She said. "It is good to see you again. Now it seems I am in the way." She said glancing towards Nott. She excused herself and said farewell to Ravana.

Free of the small group she breathed a small sigh of relief. She took a moment to herself, to compose and ready herself for her next group chat when suddenly a small paper airplane poked her in the shoulder. She reached for it and it unfolded itself in her hands. Quickly scrawled writing was upon the yellow paper.

Miss Andrews, if you would please gather a personal from the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad and visit me in my office.
Minister Leach

Ok... She thought to herself, time to get to work. She glanced at the board and saw there was a man of the name of Evan whom was exactly whom she was looking for. "Evan Karim!?" She forced herself to speak loudly and clearly. "Is there an Evan Karim here?"

Alex set down the small plate on the chair next to him after Ravana had taken to cookie. The plate seemed to vanish in a small poof of paper dust. She introduced herself and where she was working and Alex nodded. Ravana seemed to be looking everywhere at once as she spoke and he snorted a little as she revealed as to why she was down here with all of the newbies. He was trying to think of something witty to say in return but it seemed she and he both overheard the same conversation.

An older looking man was speaking to a younger woman asking for Beast Division and Auror office. Figuring the two were already together, Alex decided to follow despite her wishing farewell to him. Ravana introduced herself to the woman who he came to learn was Gwen and the man was Micheal. "I don't mean to interrupt but I am assigned to the Auror office sir." He wondered if the sir was a bit pompous but rolled with it. The man had a cane after all.

"What ever you need I think I should be able to help. I'm Alex Gallagher" He gave the man a confidant smile.

Elais learned the woman's name to be Victory and he found it rather suited her. She had a soft voice but he got the sense she too was a little out of practice with human interaction. He nodded when she said she needed to see where she was assigned to and when she asked him if she would see him around he gave her a smile.
"Count on it. Good luck with your first day." He lifted a hand in farewell and then turned to look around. He felt a little lost in the big place and found himself looking up the long way to the top of the ministry. Eight Levels of hard workers above him.

He hoped to do his job proud. Still unsure of what to do he noticed a dark haired woman sitting in the back. She wore dark robes yet managed to make them look quite elegant. Seeing she was also alone he felt the need to speak to her. Call it an act of desperation or just to make it seem like he was busy. He slid up next to her and coughed a little awkwardly to get her attention.
"Uh hey there. I'm Elias Coleman. Are you new today too?" Ok well it wasn't too bad, he told himself.

Michael Nott
Location:Ministry Level 8 l #067330l Aurors Office

Gwen's assignment to working directly with Minister prompted an approving nod from Michael - at the very least he felt the station was adequate. It also meant he could potentially skip a bit of waiting time by directly informing Gwen of the crime scene...until an all to familiar voice chimed in. Were it anyone but Ravana,he'd have a scathing retort...but this was effectively one of their patterns when they interacted so he remained silent while the women talked. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to skip his waiting period on the response to his report as Gwen promptly left. Just out of playful spite Michael threw a look at his remaining coworker as if to ask for what reason did she scare off the other.

"Magical Arson-" Michael's attempt at a quick explanation was interrupted as a pretty boy identified as Alex showed up claiming to be an Auror as well. Michael couldn't keep a hint of skepticism from showing on his face since the younger man didn't look like he'd gone through the three year training. After a quick yet silent display of profanity Michael spoke properly again.

" Alex I hope you can analyze a crime scene because I've an Arson case - nothing left of the building and interior but ash. Officially speaking, I've already filed a report but am not at full credibility given our...shortage of manpower." Sensing if he kept talking like this he'd earn another remark from Revana, Michael quickly glanced in her direction before continuing in a less harsh tone.

"So I need a second Auror to analyze the scene while there's enough magic left to scan both to validate my report and provide the insight of a fresh set of eyes. Revana, as to the best I can determine we have a case of various Fire-Making Charms later blasted to bits with FiendFyre need no further elaboration save maybe four hours have passed since. However, this inhibits clean up and we may need an extra clean up crew and Memory Modification based on your assessment." Michael made no effort to keep his tone down as various people moved around the new trio. Partly because he was fishing for another experienced crew member and partly because if any complications did occur if should have started within the past hour or so. If that was the case...he'd need a lot more hands.

Looking at the retreating back of Gwen, Ravana's eyebrows furrowed. She did not mean to make the girl leave or to be a discomfort to her, quickly hiding her own discomfort though she caught Michael's look. "Don't give me that look, I didn't mean for her to leave. I hardly said ten words to her." she defended herself, her normally large smile nothing but a soft quirk of the lips and her bubbly voice was smooth from being comfortable. The change in the young woman was large enough for strangers to notice but most wouldn't believe it was from a professional friendship but would think she disliked him and unsure was acting cold.

When Alex joined them Ravana's body very subtly tensed and her smile grew in greeting. "Ah, of course! I should have thought to invite you over to meet Michael Nott. He is a Veteran in the Auror's. What is it, sixteen years? Sometimes I forget how old you are!" she bantered easily.

After listening to Michael she became more serious, her face became a blank mask of thought. If one watched her closely you could almost see Ravana's thoughts as she quickly thought through what he had said. Snapping her fingers at a random wizard passing by she got his attention."You, I don't care what division you are in or if you were told to go somewhere else, I need you to retrieve the girl walking toward the board in real robes. Yes, go now." the command came with a smile but the scrawny witch jumped to do as she was bid.

Turning her steady gaze back to Michael and Alex she looked almost somber which is odd when mixed with her every present smile though much smaller than normal."We need an Obliviator, memory charms are not a strength of mine, which I believe she is and we know how well I can guess where people belong." she laughed quickly,"Has there been an in depth inspection of the ashes? If not we should go quickly, especially if the FiendFyre burned itself out. It is known for creating Ashwinders and though I love beasties, these are not ones that should be allowed to run rampant. They only live for an hour but their eggs can and will burn anything they come in contact with." the few other senior staff members in the room looked at the trio curiously because during her small speech Ravana's voice had stopped low, no longer was it chipper and there was no hint of her normal facade. This was the professional Beast Agent hardly anyone saw.

When the mousy witch returned with the one in teal, Ravana simply waved a hand to dismiss her while turning to the girl in teal. "Your an Obliviator, yes? How good are your memory charms dear?" she asked with a brief kind smile.

Victory had been delayed getting to the board by running into a few familiar faces from her days at Hogwarts. This had strained her socializing skills to the breaking point but she had managed to keep a smile on her face, "Excuse me... But I was sent to take you to meet those people..." a meek voice said to Victory, Turing she saw a mousy witch who couldn't seem to meet anyone in the eyes, her shaking arm pointed to a trio of people. An older man with a cane, a younger man in rumbled yellow robes, and a young woman in purple Victory could have sworn never stopped smiling sense she had noticed the girl earlier seemed to never not have one but now she appeared quite irritated.

Nodding her consent Victory followed the mousy witch only upon joining the group to see the one in purple wave the girl away and focus on herself. Two rapid paced questions came which made Victory loose composer for a moment her mouth opening and shutting quickly as her brain processed the questions.

"Yes, I'm an Obliviator. And personally I believe that they are quite good. They are one of the top reasons I was recruited." she said simply and was seemingly praised by a smile and a nod before the younger girl turned to the older male with an raised eyebrow as if to ask him something. "By the way, sense didn't ask, my name is Victory James." she snapped slightly, she didn't like feeling like a brand new tool that was about to be tested, and was exactly how she felt at the moment.

Michael Nott
Location:Ministry Level 8- Arson Crime Scene l #067330l Aurors Office

Michael reflexively nodded in affirmation when Ravana brought up his age and time at work. However in stark contrast to her darkening visage while she digested his quick report, his own facial features relaxed. After all, if she was getting serious he'd definitely made a good call in skipping channels. If he had to describe his mood change it would be the assurance of having a professional handling a task form of comfort.

However when she snapped to action - ordering another bystander to summon someone along with mentioning her rather frightening aptitude of guessing departments (he'd yet to see her be wrong since they'd become acquainted). While slow, his face slowly formed a grin during her information dump since it appeared this wouldn't be a boring extension of his shift after all. The arrival of the Obliviator only made things easier since it lightened the group load. Though in his opinion the extra attitude wasn't needed.

"It's a pleasure Miss James; Michael Nott, the gentleman is Alex and the lady is Ravana. Unfortunately, time isn't exactly on our side due to the situation and lack of manpower the Ministry is experiencing so you'll have to forgive a bit of rudeness" His smile not disappearing in the least, the Auror continued while putting his arms forward.

"Given I'm the only one who's been on sight I'll handle the Apparation. Brief history: 4 hours ago I arrived on scene no more than 15 minutes after suspects left and there was naught but ash and magical residue as I spent 1.5 hours investing before calling in containment squad to ensure site stays untouched. They arrived within 5 minutes and when i left the ashes were still glowing." Michael through a quick glance around the group before continuing.

"So individually: Alex have your wand at the ready since we don't know what we're going to see-but you're going to be the first to respond to anything there; and when you investigate residue you'll have to compensate for that amount of time. Victory if you'd kindly prepare for memory modification up to five hours in length please - I filed official reinforcement before the Minister's speech so it can be easily an hour until they show up. Ravana is effectively in charge as of this moment as officially speaking I'm currently unfit to lead in this situation but shall support best I can." Soon as he determined Disapparation was possible with the group, Michael drew everyone with him into his Apparation towards the ashes of the former house.

Dialogue - #7E64A1 || Ministry Of Magic Level 8

Having zoned out slightly after the Minister's speech, she felt everyone get up and start chatting around her but decided to stay seated. She looked around to see if there was anyone of particular interest, noticing a striking witch in black robes Ophelia wondered whether to approach her, she seemed rather intriguing. However, just as she had made up her mind to at least be a bit social, a slightly sweaty wizard in a set of seemingly very well loved robes. While maybe on a good day she would still have approached and talk to the group, Ophelia didn't particularly feel like a group conversation and instead stayed seated, watching everyone else talking.

Her eyes locking onto a rather large group of wizards and witches, Ophelia's gaze fell onto a man that while not too old, seemed far more experienced and elder than anyone else in the room. Watching as he gathered the others to him, the man and his group promptly apparated to somewhere. Ophelia had no idea what was going on there but she was certainly interested. Wondering if anyone else in the room might know of what happened, Ophelia stands and skims the crowd.

It's then she's startled by her name being called ever so loudly. Turning her head to where she had heard her name being called from, Ophelia noticed a rather tall wizard in deep green robes, flushing ever so slightly. Deciding to see what it was he wanted, Ophelia glanced at the board on her way over and figured he must be the other person assigned to the Department of Mysteries. Timothy Silver. Ophelia committed that name to memory before finding herself stood in front of the blushing wizard.

"Hello, I'm Ophelia." She greeted, her voice rigid and calm, typical for the girl. "You must be Timothy, right?" She asks, hoping that she wasn't wrong - that would be rather awkward. While waiting for a response, Ophelia glances toward the door and wonders how long it'd take her to get to her department. She hoped she wouldn't get lost.

Deciding that she should actually be making her way there, she extends an invite to Timothy, hoping that he was in fact the fellow she'd assumed he was. "I think I'll be heading to my department now," Ophelia begins, smiling ever so softly at him, "Would you care to join me?" She didn't mind what his answer would be, but slightly hoped he'd accept. She'd like to know a familiar face from her department before entering. While the Department of Mysteries had always excited Ophelia, she also felt like her first day there could be rather unhinging and she honestly wasn't one hundred percent sure what to expect.

Ravana was once again smiling, hiding the slightly cold personality she had just shown, her eyes though were cold with concentration. "At this point I don't care Ms. James, we have a emergency. Ashwinders can burn an entire city down if their eggs are left unattended." she said, her voice happy in a snarky way. Almost sharp with forced pleasantry, turning back she focused on Michael her lips sharply twisting down when he mentioned Apparation. It wasn't pleasant experience for her. "Oh Yay!" she giggled and clapped her hands, "I'm the leader." she said playfully before they aparated.

Stumbling upon contact with the arson scene Ravana quickly righted herself and was back to business. Though the fire was out and most embers were put out her sharp eyes quickly found seemingly random splotches of red. "Bloody hell, really." she stated right before an explosion of igniting Ashwinder eggs which was accompanied by the screams of muggle civilians, which hadn't surprise Ravana because not only had she spotted the eggs next to the gas line and as 'luck' had it one of her few published pieces theorized that the eggs actually became brighter as the aged. It was just unlucky that particular batch of eggs had been laid next to on gas pipe. "Protego!" was a quick command as shrapnel started to rain down on the group.

"So, I suggest first Ms. James to start charming the witnesses and we start freezing eggs. Bag them up, they are useful. Glacius" she told them almost chipper the preceded to blast a close by nest. "Also, once the eggs are frozen I would highly recommend taking any samples you need Michael of the ash and soaking it down. Though typically only born out of a uncontrollably magic fires embers, it's never a bad idea to be safe. she told the group. As she started moving carefully through the ash and rubble. Her wand gracefully swished through the slight breeze hit nest after nest of the coal like eggs.

"Michael, I think we might have a bigger problem then Ashwinders." Ravana called out. Looking out to the crowd she could see faces of men and women that she use to know before they left the Ministry. "I think, they wish to make us some sort of... Message." the smirk on her lips seemed to be the opposite response the crowd of ex Co workers wished but Ravana simply quickly finished her job of freezing eggs and collecting them in a bag.

"We should leave soon, I don't wish to deal with an angry mob today. My supervisor is already displeased with me." she said with a smile, as if her statement wasn't odd at all.

"Ah, yes. Sorry about that, I hadn't realized I had been speaking out loud until I said your name. Admittedly, it's a bad habit." Timothy said, having to make conscious decision to speak softer. Maybe it was the odd day he was having, or maybe it was simply the fact he found the young woman at his side attractive, but he found himself with an odd urge to have an actual conversation. "It's a pleasure to meet you though and I would greatly appreciate your company to our new department." he said, with a light trace of warmth in his voice that matched the slight sparkle in his eyes.

Standing tall he offered her his arm, immediately his face flamed as he realized just how old fashioned he might appear but he kept it extended because at this point Timothy was invested. Admitted, he hoped she would accept if for no other reason but to keep him from looking a fool but he wouldn't mind if she objected because that would give him a clear understanding of acceptable actions toward her and he strongly wished to have her be a friendly face around the office. Maybe even someone he could bounce ideas off of.

"My humblest apologies if I come off as to forward, I have never been good at social interactions. Preferring books over people and studying over play." Timothy said, clearing his throat at the end.

Victory, oddly enough, felt ashamed of her attitude. All but the man in yellow,Alex, was her superior and they had a point. If there was an emergency she would be needed and how is she supposed to help if she was acting like a child? Nodding her head in apology she waited for the apparation. Though she worried about the strange happy girl being placed in charge.

Landing firmly in her feet Victory felt her eyes widen in horror of the destruction around her. This could have been her and her father's home, the neighborhood was oddly similar and caused her eyes to water with tears. Wiping them away quickly she focused on Ravana. A loud poping sound filled the air right after the short girl cursed then the shield spell was erected over them as gravel and metal bits rained down.

She didn't need to be told what to do, the screams of the muggles had notified her. Walking calmly over as Ravana talked to the men she got a huge amount of attention, all asking questions. Wanting to know if the fire had been caused bubs new type of bomb, how had Ravana deflected the debris, if everyone was OK.

After some thought Victory decided that using obliviate to remove any memory of magic and then using the false memory spell, so they believed that they saw actual bombs would be best. No time lapse that could sometimes cause muggles to recognize that something had happened, no worries about the lone person who got missed being able to store up those without memories, this way 90% will be on the same page and will believe that those few who may get mixed are insane or are making up stories do to teams. "Everyone, please look at me!" she called out getting them to all quite down as they listened to her, her father had once called her voice siren like. Making people want to listen to her as long as she was confident. Taking more then one person's memory at a time was difficult but Victory had been doing so for years as a muggle reporter, though only two or three at a time."Obliviate, Obliviate, Obliviate!" she cried out, pointing at different places in the crowed. When all had a misty confused look on their faces she started on the more complex spell. Filling the now blank space with a memory of either walking by and seeing the explosion or hearing it and running out. Sweat dripped down her face by the time she was done. The muggles walking home without a care, for all they knew the police had explained everything and that they no longer needed to worry.

It was about this time Victory noticed the faces coming closer, the wands held discreetly in their hands made worry crawl down her spin with a shiver. Fatigued she stumbled backed ward before twisting around and darting back into the arson site away from the angry faces of fellow witch and wizards. "They are not friendly!" she yelled at the others as a spell flashed to her side, it was just a stun spell but she still didn't wish to get hit. Twisting her ankle she fell to the ground at Ravana's feet looking up she saw a cocky smile on the girls lips and the long wand at the ready. Ravana's carefree attitude for once sense they're meeting called Victory.

Sensing the matter was quite serious from the look of Nott's face Alex turned to a more somber expression and he brought out the wand from his robe pocket. His knuckles cracked as he stood a steady hold over the Alder wood. Ravana, and Victory both seemed ready and so Alex reached in and touched his hand to the wrist of Nott.

The folded into darkness and span for a few moments until coming to an abrupt halt in the middle of what was once a beautiful house. Alex quietly casted a cooling charm around their feet so they might not be burned. As he was doing so a small bit of rubble crumbled away and felt for them. Ravana dispatched that threat easily with a shielding spell. Victory went off after that to dispatch of the curious muggles and to ensure there would be no strange talk over the muggle news. Alex deciding he would be most useful helping Ravana bent down and cast.
"Glacius" He murmured the words and saw the bolt of ice magic leave his wand and take possession of another nest of eggs. The glow of the fire soothed as more and more eggs were bagged. Alex and Ravana had a rather healthy helping of eggs. As they stood Alex noticed a small brunt frame on the ground. Brushing away the ash and flipping over the frame he found he was looking into the eyes of a much younger Leach, and presumably his parents. Fire had burned away the magic in the painting and so the figures looked up at him lifeless.

He picked up the small frame and glanced up to see Ravana mentioning that they would likely get an angry mob. Alex put the frame in his pocket and moved forward in time to see Victory start her run back towards them. His eyes widened at the small group that seemed to be advancing on them. Everything in his body tightened and he could feel his muscles coiling in anticipation of a fight. It was an all to familiar feeling and Alex found he was grinning.

"They are not friendly!" Victory shouted as the wizards cast a few spells towards their direction. Victory landed near Ravana and Alex chuckled a little as a stray spell sparked towards him. With a small flick of his wand the spell was sent backwards, its power seeming to have doubled. There was a cry of surprise from the crowd.
"Ravana, get Victory to Nott. We need to get out of here." Alex braced himself for the next volley of spells that rained down them and with a quick jerk of his wand he shouted. "Ventus Autem" In a matter of seconds the weather in the small area had completely changed.

The magical wind swished and swirled very strongly in the direction of their attackers. The wind caught the spells and sent them spiraling down well away from any of its intended targets. Alex took a step back towards the group and then deciding he'd face them again another day he jogged over to the group. "Hell of a first day." He grinned at the group. "Lets get back before the wind dies. I think we have everything we need from here." He looked over to Nott expectantly and readied himself for apparition.

Dialogue - #7E64A1 || Ministry Of Magic Level 8

Giggling softly as Timothy apologised, Ophelia simply gave him a sweet understanding smile before looking down to where he offered her his arm. Despite the gesture being rather old-fashioned, Ophelia realised the well meaning behind it and so tentatively took his arm. Her dainty little arm interlocking with Timothy's. Glancing down at their arms, Ophelia blushes ever so softly that it's almost unnoticeable before making it look as though she was simply checking her manicure she had done the previous night - shiny jet black - and regaining her composure.

Taking the lead, as she so often did, Ophelia guides them out of the room where they had received the Minister's speech and out into the hallway. Glancing in both directions, Ophelia looks up at Timothy - despite wearing slight kitten heels, she was still visibly smaller than the gentleman next to her - rather sheepishly saying, "I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure where we're headed." Biting her bottom lip, Ophelia inwardly curses the fact that she hadn't spent a few minutes to get acquainted with the large building before the meeting. She had gotten there with plenty enough time to do so.

While she waits to see if Timothy had more of an idea, Ophelia hazards a guess at his age. He was certainly older than she, just his wise yet slightly mysterious demeanour was clear enough for her to know that. How much older? Ophelia couldn't say. His looks were certainly still youthful, and he was rather attractive, but Ophelia could also see faint laughter and frown lines that blemished his otherwise clear face and made her reckon he was in his 30s.

Thinking back to the room they had just exited, with it's large group of new employees, Ophelia only now realises that she may have been one of the youngest. There was a girl she didn't speak to who looked like she was only a few years older, but most seemed far more experienced than her and suddenly, Ophelia felt out of her depth.

Was she good enough to be here? Ophelia felt slightly inferior as she thinks of her coworkers. Surely she could do a job just as well. Ophelia hoped that was true, she didn't want to let anyone down, not when the Ministry was already in such a crisis with little staff members. She couldn't afford to mess up. Ophelia had wanted this job since she left Hogwarts and wasn't about to just think herself into failure. She could do this! She had to. Her family were so proud of her and she didn't wanna see the failingly hidden disappointment on their faces if she tells them she lost her job. Heck, it was only her first day. Surely Ophelia was overthinking this. She'd be fine, and besides, now she knew Timothy she felt comfortable enough to ask him for some help should she need it.

Michael Nott
Location:Arson Crime Scene - Ministry Level 8 l #067330l Aurors Office

Michael scanned the crime scene when they appeared, as far as he could tell the place hadn't changed too much since his departure... an explosion from behind him with Ravana's all too recognizable voice rang out. While he was glad that his back had been covered, the evaluation of the crime scene changed greatly as he turned around and saw the fire had somehow spread in the direction of other houses. Ravana's orders were simple enough to...he just couldn't tell the difference between an ember and an egg. Michael thus adopted the strategy of 'freeze anything that glows' as he flipped his wand from its brace on his left hand and slowly made his way round the site.

While he couldn't make out the words, Michael was able to recognize the caution in Ravana's tone and the unmistakable sound of fear in the other woman- Victory's voice. Sixteen years of Auror experience set Michael on guard and reflex tossed his cane aside and subsequently hearing it splinter from contact with a spell as his now free right hand responded with a curse in the same direction. As he turned towards the action, there was nothing to be seen anymore - his attacker must have fled. "Accio," the muttered spell promptly returned the head of his cane to his hand as Michael heard the sounds of other spells being shot behind him - however nothing distinct stood out...no Unforgivables had been cast yet.

" If one was this smart, only a matter of time before others try to flank too," The Auror concluded aloud before waving his wand at the ash; clumps of ash turned to blades and with a wave of his wand Michael launched them in a wide arch towards the noise. This action was repeated a couple times in a 'step.cast.step.launch' rhythm. However, Michael was only able to do the repetition twice before Alex conjured magical wind towards the attackers and deflected a volley of spells. That being said it was still enough to slip on the ash and ungraciously fall to a knee.

" Protego totalum," in a lazy fashion Michael formed his own dome of protection over the group as they closed on his location. The extra defense, and covering of their rear allowed him to take to his feet in an unhurried manner.

"Never a dull day," given he'd fallen on it so freshly Michael kept his weight near its entirety off his right leg. The familiar can hand was still clutched in its customary right hand as he leaned onto the conveniently closed Alex before he pieced together that he was expected to perform the Apparation back to the Ministry. His rather strained nerves left Michael scowling as he reached for Ravana and the prone Victory. However he still made no attempt to Apparate until both had a secure grip as he inwardly complained about getting too old for such things.

Ravana allowed her eyes to follow Michael and Alex's movements especially after Victory landed in a tumble at her feet. "Do get up, its unsightly for one of the Ministry to be sprawled so... Uncaringly." Ravana laughed with a wide smile, this incident hadn't seemed to ruffle the overly happy girls feathers one bit. "For an Obliviator, you are quite fearful." She mentioned absent mindedly as the men created blades of ash and the other a storm to allow the small group their leave.

When Victory, finally stumbled to her feet she latched an arm through Ravana's right arm which was still holding her wand at the ready. Looking up at Michael the young dark haired girl smiled broadly up at him. "Ready, love?" she asked cheerfully. As she worked her way under his right arm, her left securing its self around his waist, the slight tremor in her body would most likely be missed by Victory do to the woman's own trembling but Ravana knew he would not miss that she wasnt as unaffected as she pretended. Her arm gripped him tightly and she shivered slightly, those men and woman had once been her friends. All around she could still hear cursing and even attempted spells which would leave a bright spark flashing through the storm or, if one was lucky, knock itself against the impressive shield that Michael had erected.

"So Michael, dear, how many eggs did you freeze and bag or were you just freezing anything that glowed?" she bantered on as if they were not in the middle of trying to escape a mob of angry witches and wizards. It was Ravana's defense mechanism, tease, banter, act happy, break down when no one is around. It was truthfully more of a motto, one that allowed her to keep herself appearing to be a happy and friendly face when really she just wanted to go back to bed and not leave it for a week or more.

Smiling softly back down on the girl, Ophelia, Thomas gently took the lead for her. "I memorized the map of the building, I was here very early and sense recruitment I have visited once a week leading up to today so I knew I wouldn't get lost." he semi mumbled to keep her normally loud voice low and not as attention drawing, So I know that he need to go one level down to get to our department. What area of mysteries were you assigned? I'm space." he supplied while leading them toward a stairway that he was almost a full 90% sure would lead them down toward Level 9.

Thomas, if he was being truthful with himself, was rather attracted to the girl he placed in her early to mid twenties and he suddenly felt himself feel old and out of his element. He liked that she was intelligent enough to be in the Department of Mysteries, he liked that she didn't have a problem admitting that she had no idea where to go , and he especially liked that she liked to lead. Clearing his throat absent mindedly he ran a hand through his hair. What does one say to a new acquaintance.? Pleasantries... Right? "So, I'm not good at pleasantries but sense we will be working together and I would enjoy getting to know you would you mind if I tried to fumble through them?" he asked. Timothy wasn't entirely sure if you were supposed to ask to exchange pleasantries but hopefully Ophelia wouldn't mind that he was making himself out to be a bumbling fool.

It was about this time as he had lead them down the staircase that he realized that even though it had felt as if he had been walking down them for awhile that they hadn't been, turning his head he saw they were only three or four down. Sighing as he blushed he looked at the sweet girl who had trusted him to lead, "I may have attempted to lead us down a stair way we don't have access to use, there appears to be a never-ending charm on it. No matter how much we walk down we will never get past this step." he chocked out, his face and voice filled with embarrassment. Could he make himself look anymore dimwitted?

Victory was in shock, she knew it when Ravana mentioned getting to her feet and it took her a couple of tries to succeed. She also knew it when she clamped on to the younger girl and couldn't stop her shaking. Her vision was getting foggy and she knew that she needed to sit down and take deep breaths. Maybe this wasnt the job for her, she obviously couldn't handle it. Oh how she had felt in her element not to long ago, she may have exceled at Defense Against the Dark Arts in school but the idea of having to even attempt it against someone meaning her harm made her stomach queasy. Yes, she needed to seat down. Soon.

As Ravana seemed fine, teasing Michael and making no comment on the attack Victory could only think that she was fine. Dandy even, that made a frown appear on Victory's face. Turning to Alex she tired to smile. "Some first day, right?" she laughed shakily, she had not been what she had been expecting. A quick meeting, yes, a tour of the building on her department, defiantly, easing her way on lighter cases? Of course but an arson case that turned into a full blown attack by angry witches and wizards she can only believe are angry with the new Minister? NO, no and NO again.

Michael smiled wryly as Ravana took to his waist after she stood, experience resulting in a softening of his expression as he gave to woman just a soft squeeze for comfort. In a different situation, he'd have even engaged in banter since it was how Ravana calmed herself down from such nasty spell flinging encounters. However, at the moment he was stretching the extent to which his tired mind could take in just maintaining his shield while preparing their exit. Just as he got the necessary magics ready Ravana again opened her mouth just before the group vanished with a loud pop - something Michael would normally frown upon.

As they reappeared on the Ministry 8th floor, Michael took his weight off Alex to stand on his own. "Quite naturally I froze everything that glowed sweetheart. Alex, unfortunately I'll have to trouble you with running to the office to tell them what's happening at the moment and I'll catch up." Michael reflexively answered to Ravana's pace before returning to a slightly more business tone and tossed the handle of his cane. "For evidence and also dropping off at my desk afterwards... take the Obliviator too if you need company." Compared to normal, Michael's voice was actually gentle in tone for the first time today...nor did it have the excited undertone during the spell flinging.

"Victory, trust me - you'll want to go with Alex it'll help. For what's it's worth, you two rooks are doing great. As for that sick feeling - the day you don't feel it is the day you worry. I'll be seeing you both soon enough - my office, Alex prepare the tea; I've got everything already there on the desk." Having spent what attention he was currently willing to spare on the rookies, Michael turned off to separate lift to handle Ravana one-on-one during the ride to the 4th Level and even a bit after if necessary. When the lift doors closed, Michael heaved a sigh of relief since he didn't have to do anything to prevent eves dropping as he signaled for a slower that usual ride.

"Alright, you can let it all out now -weakness is the luxury of the juniors after all."If someone from before were able to see the situation, they'd notice Michael was standing fine without the cane.

| Dialogue - #7E64A1 || Ministry Of Magic Level 8 - Department Of Mysteries Level 9 |

"What a clever idea." Ophelia mutters, more to herself than Timothy as he tells her about his visits to the ministry, pre recruitment. Inwardly kicking herself for not thinking to do the same, Ophelia allows Timothy to take the lead - which is something she rarely did - and letting herself be guided.

When Timothy asks Ophelia where she was assigned within the department she grimaces slightly before saying, "Love," Ophelia reckoned it was a sick joke on the Minister's part. After just having her engagement broken, she finally gets a job somewhere she's wanted to work for years and they assign her to love! The one thing she feels like she's given up on entirely. "I can answer that mystery right now - it doesn't exist." the hopeless romantic turned cynic sighs, before realising she'd soured the mood and turning the conversation onto a lighter topic, "I'd love to be studying space, I worked as an astronomer before here too, with my mother."

Smiling softly as Timothy chats rather awkwardly, Ophelia nods, "Ah, small talk has never really been my thing," Ophelia admits, glad to have met someone else equally as bad at it, "But I suppose I can make an exception." She adds. Wait, was she flirting? Ophelia frowns, questioning herself. No, definitely not. That was definitely something Ophelia was never interested in doing again. Never ever. Of course, she'd have to be blind to not find Timothy attractive, but he was her coworker - and she was not interested in pursuing anything romantic ever again. Despite knowing that was probably untrue, Ophelia still vehemently denied ever wanting another relationship again.

As the pair began to descend a staircase, Ophelia noticed they weren't actually going anywhere. As Timothy catches onto it too, he quickly explains what must've happened. Laughing her soft, airy laugh, Ophelia simply shrugs. "Hey, at least now I don't feel so bad about not knowing my way around," with her arm still interlocked with his, Ophelia once again takes the lead and brings them back up from the step they were stood on. Looking around, she notices a lift not too far away and heads over to that. "Perhaps this would be easier," Ophelia looking up at Timothy who was still red with embarrassment.

Stepping into the lift and pulling Timothy along with her, she stretches to grab a handle that hung overhead. Cursing herself for being so short and therefore having to go to so much effort just to hold on. She much preferred magical lifts to muggle lifts, despite their tendency to be rather rattly and extremely fast. Which could easily nauseate some. As the lift sets off, Ophelia tries to reassure the gentleman next to her, noticing his cheeks being still rather pink. "It's always fun to go on a little detour," She says, "At least now we know not to go down that staircase and, I do believe my calfs got a good work out just then." The pair had been walking down the steps for a little while and despite getting nowhere, Ophelia could feel the work they' d done in her legs.

As the lift sets off, down to the ninth floor, Ophelia attempts to try out some of those pleasantries Timothy had mentioned earlier. "As you know what I did before coming here, I feel it's only fair I ask you about where you worked." Ophelia smiles, waiting for Timothy's response.

Location: Burning remains of a house-Level 8 Ministry | #daa520 | Aurors Office

Nott shifted closer to Alex as the group gathered around one another. In the distance Alex could hear angry shouts from the wizards they were escaping. He felt a little cowardly for not standing up to the group but Alex was smart enough to no take stupid chances like a one on fifteen. He felt the older man lean against him and adjusted his stance in order to support the man better. Retire already old man... Auror business might be out of your league now. He thought quietly to himself.

He turned his attention to Victory and saw how shaky she seemed, yet she managed a smile. "Some first day, right?" She said, making him chuckle. He reached out with his free hand and set his hand on her shoulder just as they disappeared from the ruins of the house. When the reappeared in the welcoming cool tones of the Ministry Alex left his hand on Victory's shoulder for a moment. Nott moved away from him and was speaking to Ravana as she has some snappy thing to say to him again. He gave Victory's shoulder a small reassuring squeeze before letting go.

Nott had turned his attention back to Alex and was instructing him to return to the office and inform the others what had happened as well as start making tea. He was told to bring Victory with him and Alex nodded.
"See you soon." He said to Nott and then turned his attention to Ravana, "Was a pleasure working with you and meeting you. See you around." He then turned away from the group. He naturally assumed Victory would follow him. He glanced over at her and tucked his hands into his pockets. "Are you doing alright? You took a bit of a tumble there."

He led them over to the lifts on the far wall and pressed the up button. The Auror's office was up on level two. Alex was excited to see where he would be working. "If I remember correctly your office is one level below mine." He told her, deciding to say the random thought that had come to his mind.

[font=georgia][size=85]Location: Home - Ministry Level 8 | #7ed4af | Assistant to the Minister for Magic

Having found the new recruit for the accidental magic squad Gwen led the rookie up to the first floor where she let herself and the man into the ministers office. She closed the door quietly behind her and turned to the minister who was sitting at his desk looking rather exhausted. She thought that rather strange as it was only nearly eleven in the morning. She decided not to mention it and instead took the opportunity to introduce herself and the man.
"Minister, if you would pardon the interruption, here is the man you requested. As I'm sure you already know I'm Gwen Andrews. It is a pleasure to work for you." She offered him a smile and the Minister returned it.
"Excellent." The minister leaned forward in his chair and pushed a sheet of paper towards the two. "We've got a slight issue on our hands here. A couple of kids were messing around in Knockturn Alley this morning and got into a bit of a squabble at Borgin and Burks. Some magic rebounded off this mirror here." Leach gestured to a large standing mirror behind him.

Gwen could see her reflection in the glass but something about it seemed off. Her features were smoother, more streamlined. Her reflection was grinning while she was not. Finding it rather off putting she looked away just as her reflection began to wink. "The kids are acting quite strange. We've sent them to Mungo's for attention but the staff have requested someone from the Ministry as well. If you wouldn't mind heading over there now sir. Leach waited for the man to nod and then he vanished with a small pop.

"What do you mean by strange sir?" Gwen asked curiously.
"As far as the staff can tell, the children have become amplified versions of themselves. One was rather shy I guess and is now unable to make eye contact with even the smallest creature. If he does its a rather large melt down I hear." He sighed and tapped his wand on a small purple tea cup which filled with warm tea. As he did so a mountain of paper airplanes flew through his office window and landed on a messy pile in front of him. One airplane even took a dip in his tea. Sighing Leach lifted his hand to gesture to the mirror. "If you could take this mirror to the department of Mysteries and have them give you a full explanation on the mirror and what it does. It may be useful for those at Mungo's. Also have them put it away for safekeeping."

"Right away sir." Gwen nodded and she moved her wand out of her pocket to conjure a sheet over the mirror. Then she levitated it a few inched off the ground and began to push it out of the office. She took the mirror to the lift and pressed for down. As she was waiting she could have sworn she heard giggling from the mirror. Deciding to ignore it she pushed the offending object into the lift. Her stomach felt like it was in her throat as the lift dropped nine levels. When the ride was over she pushed the mirror out and spotted two others getting out of another lift.
"Excuse me!" She called to them. "Are you with the Department of Mysteries? I've got an object here I need you to examine if you are." She pushed the mirror towards them.
