Viola is super cute! She's like a doll in a tiny package! Vi gives off a look of cuteness that isn't exactly one of sparkles and happiness, but more akin to a dangerous, bestial sort of cute. She's pixie-like in size, with pale skin and hair as dark as the night. Her movements are animalistic, like a huntress stalking her prey and she makes no real attempt to look anything more than what she is, either. Viola is a predator despite her size, and her lust for battle should be clear for everyone to see. She dresses in outfits similar to what a Japanese schoolgirl would wear, black skirt, black knee-length socks, black sailor-top with a red scarf.

Spiteful | Snarky | Sociable | Manic | Silly | Bullheaded
Viola is... complex, to be sure. She's full of emotions deep within her and expresses them easily through either actions or words. It's easy for her to become overwhelmed emotionally and thus lash out at those around her, though most of the time Viola maintains a friendly face for the other hunters nearby. Viola enjoys socializing, making friends and connections, and is known for taking serious things in a silly way, cracking jokes and poking fun. However, she's also good at pointing out flaws in a plan, though usually in a semi-insulting way, so sometimes Vi steps on people's toes more often than not. Still, she means well most of the time despite her stubbornness and makes for a good friend and reliable ally if she's on your side, as well as an unforgiving and deadly foe otherwise.

There are two classes of Vampire Hunters. The first is the normal, Hunters trained at Vercingetorix Hall hidden within Paris's streets, people trained with enhanced weapons in order to be able to fight against the vampire threat. For years the hunters operated in secret, but it wasn't enough, they needed more because the vampires were still too strong. After a contact from Seele calling himself Luis sold them information, the Hunters had a new idea. What if they could incorporate demon Soul Pieces into the bodies of the hunters? The first experiments were failures, installing the Soul Pieces would kill the hunters. But they discovered that younger hunters had greater resistances to the installment. It eventually became practice for families dedicated to the eradication of vampires to breed and force their children to bear the soul pieces.

This is called a Blood Pact. Only ten percent of children could survive it, and only those ten move on to become the Second Generation of Vampire Hunters. While the Blood Pact does not grant special powers, it grants the children the power to sacrifice their blood in order to enhance their physical attributes. Thus, by hurting themselves or by being hurt in battle, the Blood Pact Children could become strong enough to fight Vampires, lords of the night.

Once there was a family that lived in Berlin. The parents were killed when they were young, leaving two sisters behind to carry on their legacy. Julia Rosenkranz became a Jaeger of the Berlin Branch Tower Society, making friends with Stallion before the transfer. Viola was the younger sister and she too dreamed of becoming a demon hunter. While London was the front lines of the Demon War, once the Third Impact began and Kuro and Lumos were defeated in London, the Demons focused their attack on the Berlin Branch, killing many. The volunteer forces from London found themselves wiped out, even the likes of Silence and Pray were defeated and never seen since. It was disaster, there wasn't much they could do.

How did this happen?

No one expected Baronness Kitra to sign a contract with the Vampire King, Gavyn Seylum. The vampires descended on Berlin, with Gavyn and Iflet being the leaders. They rounded up the Tower Society fighters, turning as many as they could into vampires to make their army grow bigger and stronger. Julia was one of the unlucky ones, Iflet Seylum sunk her fangs into her throat and turned her right before young Viola's eyes. Vi spread her arms, ready to turn as well but then for some unknown reason Iflet took her and chained her up at Castle Seylum. For years Julia was forced to feed on her, her idol was made into a monster, drinking her little sister's blood. When Julia refused to cooperate, Iflet would have Viola tortured mercilessly by the Vampire King, Gavyn. Life was horrible and Viola wished she were dead.

Vi only wanted to become a vampire and be with her beautiful and beloved big sister again. She did not want Julia to smuggle her out of the castle one day. She did not want Julia to carry her to arms of strangers. She did not want the strangers to carry her all the way to Vergingetorix Hall in Paris to be installed with Julia's dead demon. She did not want to make a Blood Pact and be forced to train for years and years, spitting blood and crying herself to sleep after every session. While the UK was safe, the rest of Europe was in the worst nightmare of their life. The Berlin and Athens branches of the Tower Society were no more, now demons and vampires ruled Eastern Europe.

As one of the strongest and most self destructive Hunters from Vercingetorix Hall, Viola knew she would have to survive the upcoming war to save Europe. With luck, she would be able to find Julia and save her.

|| Till The Day we Die || Pagan Fury ||

"Blood Pact, you know what to do."

It was their first expedition as a unit, leaving the golden walls of the Vercingetorix Hall behind. "There are reports of vampires in Alps region. You are to head there and investigate." Hunt Captain Lorraine Vincere instructed. She was the one put in charge of them, as a retired Vampire Hunter from the old generation. Wheelchaired but no less badass, she was the one who whipped the four kids into shape. "Blood One, report." Dominic sighed, brushing the dark hair out of his eyes. "We're at the base of the mountain." He reported into the telecom. "All armed and ready, Hunt Captain." The jeep stopped at the side of the road. All four of them could smell it, they could smell vampires in the area. Something was going on and they were going to stop it.

"Blood Pact Two, how many are they?" Lorraine asked. Elisa licked her finger and held it up to the air, eyes turning red as she focused. "There are five of them." She said with a half smile. "They're halfway up the mountains, so we should get going." The wind was blowing, her eyes returned to normal, blood dripping down her mouth as she had bit her tongue to activate the Blood Pact. "Viola, Jacob, please stay close. You two are more fragile than us, so let us handle the front." Viola sighed, swinging her case of knives dramatically, eager to get the climb on the way. "Blood Pact Three, how much blood is there?" She sliced her finger with her knife and focused, sniffing to try to get a hint of the enemy, eyes turning just as crimson as Elise's had.

"No human blood. Dunno what they want, but those Arsches are gonna get it." She wanted to get the show on the road already. Why were vampires scaling the mountain? "One vampire smells weaker than the others. Female. Sounds interesting." She licked her lips, following Dominic and Elise as they began jumping up the mountain, Blood Pacts activated. "Blood Pact Four." Lorraine spoke to the last member. "Don't show off, you don't have to be like your brother." Jacob grit his teeth, jumping up to try and get ahead of Dominic. "Hah! I'll be better than he was!" He roared, rushing and taking the lead. "Stupid Chris, poster boy Chris, 'Hi I'm adopting a baby with my demon wife Chris', I'll teach you what a warrior is!" It was clear he had a lot to shoulder. But all four of them had a burden to carry, didn't they?

As the weather got colder with the climb, Violet froze. "Watch out!" She warned, sensing a difference in the enemy's blood. "They know we're here now!" The vampires were speeding up their pace, for whatever goal it was they were looking for. Dominic put his clawed glove on, flexing the fingers of the bladed gauntlet. It was his preferred weapon, of course. Elisa whipped her gun out of her pocket, dark steel glistening prettily in the snow's daze. Naturally, just like his brother, Jacob wielded a sword that shone brightly in the sun's rays. As they continued up the mountain vampires leaped at them from the shadows, two were on the attack.

"Viola, you take that one, I'll take the other!" Dominic yelled, jumping to claw the left vampire in the face, rolling back to avoid the blood spike shot from the enemy. Viola snickered, brandishing her line of hooked knives. "I've been waiting for this!" She threw three of her knives with a flick, bouncing back to return to her grip, each of her knives slicing up her prey's legs. She heard gunfire - no doubt Elise was covering them from behind. "Dom!" Jacob shouted. "Let me finish it!" He swung his sword eagerly, only for a blood spike to rush for his shoulder. A lucky shot from Elise was what saved him and Dom pulled him to his side under cover.

The fight was getting on. Viola flung her knives out again, aiming for the eyes this time. "Vi, go to the objective." Dom ordered. "You're the fastest. We'll hold them off here." Vi nodded, happy to please. She dashed up to the top of the mountain range, knowing her team would get out alive safely. Now then, what was it the vampires wanted so badly? "Pink..."" Vi said quietly, seeing a flash of pink hair. There was a barn, much of it destroyed. Inside was a pink haired vampire. Any Vampire Hunter knew who this was. "Heh, seriously? The Lost Princess?" The german closed in, wondering what to do. The vampires wanted her... did they want to bring her back?

"Hey." Viola grinned, eyes glowing bright. "Do you want to bite me? I'll set you free if you-" As she let her guard down, another vampire pounced on her, another had been hiding here, waiting for her to come. "That's our Princess!" He snarled, gnashing his teeth, trying to kill her. "You humans won't hurt her anymore! Princess, I'll take care of her and come for you!" Vi kicked at him, pushing him back and drew her knives again, throwing them in a star pattern, watching them loop back around and cut again as she caught them on the return.

What an annoyance. There wasn't much time. "I'll free you." She promised. "As long as you turn me." She grinned, cutting the chains but leaving the silver cuffs intact. The vampire tried again to rescue the Princess , lunging at her from behind. At that moment the sharp crack of a gun echoed in the windy mountain top. "Thanks, Elise." Vi smirked and Elise nodded. "Is that the package?" Her eyes widened in recognition once Vi got closer to the rest of the team.

The Lost Princess was found. Sadly for her, she wasn't going to see freedom just yet. Vi would just have to try again later, wouldn't she?

How long had she been sitting here? How many times had the sun set and risen? Riven had stopped counting. She had been awake for almost a week, time ticking by at the speed of a leaky well. Her body felt frozen, her mind felt numb. She was slipping away once more, her entire being preparing to return to its dormant state in order to preserve what little energy and will to live she had left. On the eighth morning, Riven could smell something different. Her head looked up, her entire body rife with anticipation. What was that smell? It wasn't one she recognized. There were voices, she thought, perhaps it was merely the wind picking up, or maybe even her mind playing tricks on her. "I'm going to go mad, aren't I?" If she hadn't already. The barn doors blew open, a chilly wind whispering down her spine. She shivered, the smell growing stronger with the gust.

"Who's there?" Riven whispered, her voice hoarse from nearly a century of silence and seven days worth of screaming. A hunter. Riven's eyes widened, eager. "Please-" she whispered, noticing the knives in the hunter's grip. This was not a normal human, Riven realized, swallowing hard. No, the girl reeked of something else, something foreign. The hunter entered the barn, her grin wolfish. "Bite... you?" Riven's stomach gnawed at her with hunger, when was the last time she had gotten any blood? She was starving. "Please," Riven began to beg once more, only to be cut off by a vampire. "Behind you," it seemed that she had been found by both factions at once.

There were more of them, humans that reeked of demon. The hunter cut the chains, her arms aching as they slid down the wall, screaming at the small movement. The silver cuffs still dug into her skin, but at least she could move, a small mercy. The other hunters were closing in, one at a time, they entered the old barn, wearing the blood of vampires. Package? Was she the package? The vampire wondered as one of them grew closer, his stride bolstered by confidence. "Well, well," he smiled, "lookie here." He glanced at the ring on Riven's finger, the only relic that had remained with her this entire time. "It's the real thing," he grew closer, removing something from his bag and wrapping it around her shoulders, a blanket. His knee suddenly connected with her face, her head slamming backwards into the wall, her body slumping as she passed out. "Can't be too careful," he warned, lifting her.

"Why did you hesitate?" Elise asked Viola, her frown disapproving, "Don't tell me you were going to let a vampire bite you?" She asked as Jacob collected whatever valuables were on the dead vampires. "Come on, let's get back to base." He groaned, "I'm starving," he gave one last kick to one of the piles of ashes, which scattered in the wind.

Riven awoke someplace strange. There were bright lights in her eyes and people mumbling around her. Underneath her was a soft bed and above her a warm blanket. She was wearing clothing too, soft against her skin. Riven pried her lids open to glance about the space, finding that she was confined to a small room. Her wrists and ankles were restrained against the railings, there was something around her neck as well, but even if she had the power, Riven did not have the will to fight. Why hadn't the hunters killed her? Why had they not ended her life? Now she was in a strange place with overwhelming smells, too much light, and far too many sounds. Her head spun, having grown used to darkness and the howling of the wind.

"Hello?" Riven asked the empty air, wondering if her new fate was to be bound to this bed, in this small room, until her execution. What a miserable existence.

|| Till The Day we Die || Pagan Fury ||

Why did Viola hesitate? She hugged herself to help fight the cold, thin cloak not strong enough to beat the snow and wind biting at her flesh. She had to come up with a quick lie, but Elise was always a perceptive one, the motherly member of the team. "I was baiting out the last vampire." Viola said without missing a beat, flashing a charming grin. "I knew he was there, I just had to wait for him to make the first move." Even though everyone here was a dear friend she loved, they really were getting in her way, weren't they? Since childhood, the four of them had trained together, everyone having their own tragedy hiding deep within.

Upon returning to Vercingetorix Hall in Paris's lively streets, the lost vampire princess was turned over almost instantly. It was pretty and decorated largely in golds and silvers, almost like a palace from the middle ages in it's glamour. In Europe, there were only two countries that were able to last against the Third Impact. London fell almost instantly, and when both Athens and Berlin were defeated, the rest of Eastern Europe collapsed on itself, with Moscow putting up a brave fight to the bitter end. All that was left was France and Spain, the two countries would have to work together to survive for now. The UK was rebuilding, but the soldiers they sent to help Berlin all vanished, even the two babies who were revived didn't make it out alive.

"It'd be good if Jacob could learn a thing or two from you." Dom said to Vi as she was going to turn in for the night, leaving the dinner table where they and the other First Generation hunters, the ones who were too old to make a Blood Pact. "I'm just doing my job. Jacob has his own things he's good at." Vi said with a smile, dismissing the praise. She was fast and all, but Jacob was definitely the one with more muscle strength. She wasn't sure if she could beat him in a fight. "He needs to learn how to listen to orders." Dom looked a bit distressed even as he smiled. "I'm the leader, so it's my job to make sure everyone gets back safely." So far he's been doing well, but to be fair, that was their first official sortie.

Vi put a hand on his shoulder. "You'll be fine, he'll wisen up eventually." She bade him good night and left, having business elsewhere. Vi snuck her way into the holding cells. "Blood Pact." She flashed her ID to the guard and gained access. There was a special reason she was doing this and that was because Lorraine herself didn't know what to do with the Vampire Princess. "Hey, wake up." Viola tugged gently on the chains to make a jingling noise. "Riven Seylum, correct? Our deal still stands, but obviously, the others are gonna be making this complicated."

She had a plan though, one that would benefit both sides pretty well. "Us humans need help to fight the vampires. You want to be free. I want to be bit. So how about I put in the good word for you with the bosses, then you join us?" She smiled charmingly, sitting down in front of the prisoner. "And then when we see an opportunity, I break you free and you turn me. Deal?" She'd already made sure the room was free of surveillance, no one would be able to overhear this talk.

|| Burn || Hamilton ||

Riven waited patiently, drifting in and out of sleep. Her first visitor was a man dressed in white, he had a mask to protect himself, as though becoming a vampire were infectious. He carried a strange silver box in his hand, touching it against the collar fastened around her neck. It made a sound that caused Riven to jump, the human laughing at her distress. "You're so small, it's easy to forget you're a dinosaur," his voice was muffled by his mask. Riven glared, it wasn't polite to address a girl's age. It was even worse to stab her with a needle without warning. He dug underneath her flesh, able to find a vein that gave him purple colored blood. He took twelve phials of it, the vampire feeling lightheaded as he stuck a plaster against the wound that stopped bleeding almost immediately.

The next to visit her had a special delivery. Riven's eyes lit up, able to smell it before she saw it. She licked her lips hungrily, wondering what type it was. The container hissed as it was opened, revealing the vibrant bottle. The bed she was strapped to was sat up, another surprise. This human did not laugh, but rather, his eyebrows lifted at her surprise. "It's not human," he murmured disgustedly, pouring the blood into a cup. Another human came to assist him, strapping her head against the mattress, as though afraid she would lash out. Only once they checked the restraints was the cup held up to her lips. Riven drank thirstily, it was sheep's blood, but it was blood and she was starving. It was like nectar between her lips, the G-d's drink, craving more almost instantly.

"Can I have another please?" Riven inquired when it was done. She wasn't an animal, she had manners. The humans seemed surprise by her politeness. "Sure," another cup was filled, she drank three more after, blood dribbling down her chin and staining the frock she was wearing. "Alright, I think that's enough," the humans decided, one of them donning thick leather gloves to wash around her face and chin. They unstrapped her head and the bed was returned to its flat position, Riven jumping once more, forgetting it could move. Slowly, her strength was returning, feeling coming back to her fingers and toes. She tested the chains, pulling on them slowly to determine their strength. Not very thick, Riven realized. No, if she pulled hard enough, no doubt she could break through them.

She gave one a hearty tug, a strange sound emitting from the collar. Something strange poured down her body, causing intense pain and convulsions. Had her heart still needed to beat, that surely would have stopped it. No, the warning was loud and clear, even if she broke through their first line of defense, they had a second, the third no doubt being the building full of hunters just beyond this wall. Oh well, it wasn't so bad. Getting fed, a warm bed, and sleep. No, this arrangement was something that Riven could live with. It was utterly boring, but at least she could no obligations and no one would bathe her in holy water and stab her with crosses.

The lights turned off, causing her to scream. What was that? Had all of the candles in the ceiling blown out at once? A small amount of light came in from underneath the door, her nerves already frayed. Perhaps they expected her to sleep? Riven had more energy now than she did in the last century, however was she supposed to rest?

The door creaked open an hour later. A girl stalked inside, the candles in the ceiling igniting once more. Riven blinked, her eyes adjusting, settling on the hunter that had freed her. "Yes, that is my name. I suppose your teachers were smart enough to tell you to never offer your name to a vampire." It was a myth that vampires could control one just by offering their name. She frowned, it seems that she had not heard wrong in the barn, this girl was mad.

"Why?" Riven required simply, "I detest being a vampire with every ounce of my being. Why would you, a hunter, ever want to become a vampire?" Riven narrowed her eyes, wondering if this was a test. "As much as I appreciate the offer, I am rather content, doing nothing and being fed." She was not going to lament to this hunter, who had no idea what the last century had been like for the vampire. "If your Master had done her research, she would already know my usefulness."

Viola smiled as the vampire questioned her and she shook her head coyly. "Ah, but isn't it rude to expect a life story before treating me out to dinner first?" She had one goal, and she would achieve it. If not today, then tomorrow. If not tomorrow, then some other day. "Hmm, I guess for now you can call me Gammie." It was based off of the third Greek letter, Gamma because she was Blood Pact Three. "Hi, my name is Gammie!" She sat there casually, shifting her body here and there to try and get a comfortable seat. The princess did not seem to want freedom, she did not seem to want to take the deal. Was there a reason for it? Viola didn't know, but that was what diplomacy was all about, right?

"I have my reasons. Not to mention, vampires are really pretty." She giggled innocently, eyeing Riven's cute body. She was a tiny thing, eternal adorable didn't seem so bad. "I guess for now we can see my reason is vanity." Of course her real reason was something else entirely, but hey, vanity wasn't so strange either, was it? No doubt many people would go to many lengths in order to stay beautiful. "I guess we can take this slowly then." Viola stood up, brushing her skirt, and then drew one of her boomerang knives. She knicked her inner cheek, blood trailing onto the blade. "My blood is human, and something else too." It was mixed with demon blood, an odd concoction that she had no idea if Riven would take or not.

Well, they could always just use force too, but it wasn't as if that was very graceful. No, force was lacking finesse, Viola preferred doing things more organically. "Just a taste for now. I rather like it myself, but the same isn't true for everyone." Her eyes grew blood red as always did when any Blood Pact was injured enough to draw the red ichor that was their life's source. Viola casually tapped the knife to Riven's mouth, letting the blood slide in. "I'll see you next time no one's around, cutie." With that she turned her back on the chained vampire. "...They're going to force you to cooperate one way or another, but you might have more mercy if you accept the deal, y'know?" Naturally they wouldn't just keep her there forever. There just wasn't enough resources for that.

She went up to her room. Elise was there waiting for her, the two of them roommates. "It took you a while. Are you okay?" Viola frowned, shrugging. "Why are your eyes red? Did something happen?" Viola made an embarrassed frown. "I scratched my cheek with a knife." She opened her mouth so Elise could examine it, which earned her a gentle whack on the head. "Please, be more careful." The blonde told her sternly. "You know it costs us minutes of our lives to use the Pact." Viola nodded, having had this lecture already. Each time they used it, bits of their lifespan was stolen away from them until eventually they would be empty husks. "Thanks for making my bed. Nighty night, Lissie." Elise sighed, laying down on the bottom bunk. "I'm not Lissie anymore." She insisted. "Call me Elise." Viola responded by throwing her training bra into the bottom bunk and shut her eyes, waiting for tomorrow.

A life story? No, Riven had just wanted her motivation, she did not need to know this hunter's entire history. "Gammie?" Riven repeated, furrowing her brow. It certainly was an odd name, but considering the even odder hunter she was speaking to, Riven was not going to question it. No, the way the hunter repeated it, it was clear that Gammie was simply a nickname, albeit one that made her sound like a Grandmother. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance," Riven replied, figuring that it did not hurt to be polite. Vampires were pretty? It was a myth that Riven had heard time and again. She did not find her sickly pallor and demonic red eyes particularly attractive, it must be an acquired taste. "Vanity is not motivation enough for me to bite you," Riven replied simply. "I've seen vanity ruin lives, burn down villages, and cause entire plagues. You are too young to know that though," she blew a strand of hair from between her eyes.

The hunter stood, brushing herself off. Take what slowly? She drew a knife and Riven frowned, wondering if the hunter was going to torture her. "If you prefer to use violence then I'm going to kindly ask you to kill me." She already knew they would not slit her throat, at least, not yet. They had rescued her from that barn for one reason or another and Riven would find out eventually, even if it was only to remain in this room so that the vampires could not have her. "I can smell it on you," Riven would have pinched her nose. "You reek of demonic blood," the way her eyes flashed red told Riven all she needed to know. There was something profoundly wrong with this hunter, the humans had done something to her.

The knife tapped her lips, the blood touching her tongue. It was strange, slightly bitter, certainly an acquired taste. Riven was not certain she enjoyed it. Still, blood was blood and Riven was not going to waste it. "Cutie?" She blinked, unfamiliar with that term. "What does that mean?" Riven mumbled as the hunter left, poking her nose inside to give one last word of warning, as though Riven did not have the foresight to predict it herself. She was here for a reason and whether it was to cooperate or be kept out of the hands of her vampire family would reveal itself soon. The candles in the ceiling went out instantly again, Riven jumping once more. She drifted off to sleep easily, the warmth luring her into darkness.

the next morning she awoken to a strange sound. There was an odd clicking, one that made her ears hurt. The door opened, the clicking growing louder, the lights coming on abruptly to reveal a woman in a chair whose wheels spun on their own. Was this magic? "It took all night, but I dug you up," the human said, clutching a thick, leather bound volume. It seemed the humans had lost touch on introductions. "Yes, metaphorically and physically," she blew the strand of hair out of her eyes once more, "allow me to be frank. If I'm not here for any reason, I'm going to request that you kill me." The hunter laughed, "After all the trouble I went through to get you? I don't think so," she opened up the book, written in an unfamiliar language.

"You can turn into the weapon of someone's choosing." She smiled, as though she had figured some grand puzzle out. "You could have just asked," Riven yawned. The woman grew closer, seeming unafraid compared to her colleagues, who were cowering in the doorway. "How does it work?" She demanded, her eyes bright with curiosity. "It's rather draining, to be honest. I can transform into the weapon of my beholder's choosing for a maximum of two hours. However, I must be told to revert back to my human form. If not, bad things happen." Mainly forgetting she was a vampire in the first place, but Riven would let the implication sit.

The woman jotted it down on a mysterious silver box, her taping loud. She left just as quickly as she had come, the door slamming shut behind her.

|| Till The Day we Die || Pagan Fury ||

"What the hell are you doing here?!" Jacob snarled, pulling out his sword that glowed with the power of the sun. They were at the front gate to Vercingetorix, the bulwark of safety. Behind the building was Upper Paris, where the people from all over Europe could live in general peace. On the other side was Lower Paris, facing the Rhine river. It was a large military bunker that included the Eiffel Tower, half of the city was dedicated to the United Nations and their army against the Third Impact. At the Rhine River was the front line where the current war effort was. Christopher smiled at Jacob, he was an old man now, well into his twenties. "I'm glad you're doing well, brother." Jacob punched him in the face, causing Doll to nearly bite.

"Don't call me brother!" Jacob shouted, glaring. "You let Cassie die! You let a demon infest her body and kill her!" Cassandra Delanore was their sister, she had fallen into a coma many years ago and had never woken up, only for the soul piece of Baroness Rowena to be installed into her. "I'm gonna become stronger than you no matter what!" He ran off after stomping on Chris's foot once more for good measure. "Jacob, wait!" Elise ran after him to try and calm him down. Dominic sighed, taking Chris's hand. "Sorry about that. He still hasn't gotten over it yet." Christopher shook his head, eyes full of regret. "It's not your fault. How's my daughter?" For the meantime they were taking care of the adopted little girl - since Doll couldn't get pregnant and besides, human and demons probably couldn't and shouldn't breed either way. "She's doing well, but she misses the two of you."

Christopher came here to request more Vampire Hunters to the front lines, of course. He made the report - so far there wasn't much progress at the Rhine, but everyone was doing their best for now. The goal was to reach Berlin and retake it, while at the same time head into the Alps near Germany's border to find Castle Seylum and kill Gavyn and Iflet Seylum. It was going to be a hard campaign but for humanity's sake, they had no choice but to do it. "Team Blood will be ready to mobilize in a week." Lorraine said with a smile. "Please hold on until then." That was how long she had until they could get Riven's cooperation.

So that night Lorraine had the four Bloods meet Riven in her chambers so they could determine who had the most compatibility with her. Jacob clicked his tongue unhappily, turning away. "I don't need a stupid vampire to beat my brother." He hissed, kicking the floor. Dominic gave Riven a little wave, and Elise smiled at her kindly, as if they could be friends. "Hullo" Viola winked, hoping to pretend they did not know each other.

"Allow Riven to have a drop of each of your blood." Lorraine instructed. "The one who tastes the best will be the one I assign the vampire too." So as instructed, even Jacob, they all allowed Riven to taste them. "We have one week to get ready, so I'll have to hasten the training plan." One week until the front line. Vi could hardly wait.

Riven coughed, feeling as though she were going to choke. They were forcing pills down her throat, attempting to see if they had any effects on vampires. One made her hallucinate almost instantly, the vampire believing she had actually turned into a bat and could fly away. It ended as soon as she tugged too hard on the chain, the collar sending pain down her spine. She screamed, sobering up almost instantly. The next pill made purple blood drip from her nose, her body shivering uncontrollably. The third pill made her sleepy, Riven drifting off until the fourth pill made her feel as though she were a rocket about to explode. It would have been fun, had they not been monitoring her and writing down everything she reacted to. She was hoping that if she cooperated, they would feed her more blood as a reward. Unfortunately, her reward never came.

It wasn't until the evening that she was visited once more. This time by the wheelchair woman, Gammie, and the three other hunters who had been on the mountain. One of them insulted her intelligence almost immediately. "And I don't need a dim witted human to beat your brother either," she replied haughtily, rousing a laugh from the female that wasn't Gammie. "You're an odd vampire," the boy with the streak of white in his hair commented, the one that had given her a blanket and then had kicked her in the head to knock her out. "I never would have expected to find that the Blood Stained Sword would be a pink haired poof." Riven was not sure whether it was a compliment or not, to be frank, she wasn't sure what a poof was.

It seemed the reason she had not been fed was that she was doing a taste test. Assign her to? Riven scowled, what were they going to do with her? What were they training for? Was she going to be used as a punching bag? Would they set her lose in their training room to give them each a chance to beat her? Let's get on with it then," Riven licked her lips. Fine then, if they wanted her to play the part of the vampire, then she would. The first one to prick her finger was the blonde one, Riven opened her mouth, allowing the plasma to drip onto her tongue. Type AB negative, but there was something wrong with it. She gagged, the blood tasting like she had just licked a skunk. The blonde frowned, seeming thoroughly disappointed by the reaction. "What are you trying to do? Poison me?" Riven coughed, her eyes watering from the taste.

The next one to the bat was the boy with the white streak, his blood tasting as though she had licked the ground. He too, seemed disappointed. The one that had called her stupid went next, his blood emitting a powerful odor that made her gag before it so much as touched her tongue. "Quit being dramatic," he grabbed a handful of her hair, forcing his blood into her mouth. The taste was even worse. She was panting by the time it was Gammie's turn, already aware of the flavor of her blood. Riven opened up her mouth, prepared for the bitterness and finding something odd. It was sweet? "That's not horrible, I suppose," she admitted, wishing she could at least move her arms enough to wipe her mouth.

Elise was the first to try. Everyone other than Viola assumed she was most likely to win the prize because of how sweet she was personality wise. "I suppose it's for the best." Elise said with a defeated smile, stepping back away from Riven. "I'm best with my gun, so I didn't really need it." A part of her was disappointed but she knew it made more sense for one of the other three to gain ownership. Next up was Dominic and his blood didn't win Riven over either, but at least it wasn't nearly as bad as poor Jacob who caused her to gag without even having to taste it. "Blood Pacted humans not your taste?" He snorted, crossing his arms as he stepped away. "Good, keep your filthy fangs off of me."

Viola easily pricked her finger, eyes becoming red just like the others did, letting it slide into Riven's mouth. This time the sensors indicated something different. "She liked that one." Lorraine said with a relieved sort of sigh. "Looks like you're with me. My name is-" Elise took her arm in alarm. "You can't tell her, not yet. Just in case, you can't risk it." Viola shrugged, putting the pricker back on the table. "Alright, fine. Are you ready?" Lorraine wheeled herself forward, nodding. She drew a magic circle on the ground, it was a simple magic ritual that you didn't need mana to use. "Do you accept ownership of the vampire Riven Seylum, Lost Princess and Blood Stained Sword?" Lorraine asked, and Viola nodded. "Of course, I accept." A mark appeared on her chest and she felt it, heavy, imposing, two silver chains linked together.

"For now until death, Riven Seylum belongs and must follow the orders of Viola Rosenkrantz." Lorraine said and the circle glowed brightly for a moment until it faded away. "Congratulations on your union. Viola, give her a tour. Her new room will be Holding Cell Beta for the time being." Lorraine wheeled away and Vi snickered. Fate really was on her side, wasn't it? "Good luck with that." Jacob snapped, walking away. Dom patted Vi's back and Elise smiled worriedly. "Be careful, don't let her take advantage of you, Vi." Elise pleaded, not wanting anything to go wrong with her family of four. Vi wasn't worried, but she wouldn't mind Riven being forced to take the blame for biting her.

"A week from now we'll be joining the front line of the war." Viola explained as she was given permission to undo the chains, but not the cuffs. "Let's take you to your new room!" Holding Cell Beta was small but decorated neatly with pastel colors, a simple dresser and bed and an unbreakable window. "You'll be locked inside and it seals special powers, but at least you won't be chained up so erotically this time." There was something arousing about an adorable girl in chains, Vi couldn't deny that. She giggled happily. "You'll get to fight vampires! I wonder if they'll call you a traitor." Most likely the vampires would just try to rescue her and bring her back to their side.

It seemed that she and Gammie were the most compatible. Riven still refused to believe that was the hunter's name. Her scalp was sore from the other hunter "I wouldn't bite you if you begged me to," she hissed at him, his blood akin to dog scraps. "With that blood, I would not so much as feed you to the wolves, for I would pity them to have to consume that flavor." If he was going to be rude, Riven could be just as so, if not more. The fourth hunter's blood was much more tolerable, unreasonably sweet when yesterday it had been terribly bitter. Was it merely because she had expected that flavor that her surprise was genuine? It wasn't uncommon for blood to change flavors, but that was usually after storage. Riven had never had blood twice from the same human, as she had never had a blood servant. King Seylum did not believe in such things.

Riven yawned, "An old myth," a stereotype perpetuated by witches. "There is power in names, but only in ancient evil ones. Your name, I do not believe, holds any power." It was faeries you had to be cautious of, slick little creatures that fluttered about likes flies. A magic circle was drawn on the ground, Riven frowning. When had humans learned to use magic? She wondered, watching. "Just Riven is fine," she sighed, wondering why the woman had used nicknames. Lost Princess? That was certainly a new one. Ownership? Whatever was that supposed to mean? Riven could not be owned, she was a Princess for goodness sake, not a common dog that would be loyal to whoever found it. She jerked when a marking appeared on her chest, it felt as though someone had held a match to her skin.

Viola, that was the human's name. Her new manager, she supposed. It seemed they were worried about their compatriot's well being. Riven was more worried about her own safety with this mad woman. The others left, Viola the only soul remaining. It was a relief to be uncuffed from the bed, as much as she hated the new marking that was burning on her chest. Riven slid off of the bed, her legs shaking slightly, unused to her weight. She was lucky she was a vampire, otherwise her legs would surely have snapped in two. "A war?" Riven frowned, "I'm afraid you'll need to give me more information. I'm several hundred years behind." What had happened while she had been asleep? "What year is it?" Riven demanded, following along behind Viola.

Her new room was small, but well furnished. There was a bed, one window that was too high up for her to look out of, a dresser, and oddly colorful walls for a jail. Riven sat on the bed, testing the mattress. It was nice, she much preferred it to a floor. "They would never speak out against their Princess." She ran a hand through her hair, which was several lengths too long. Had Riven a knife she would slice right through it. "Especially once they become aware of what you've done to me." She glanced at the marking on her chest, her cheeks turning pink when Viola suggested that her being chained up was erotic.

Vi's smile widened. "Sure! You'll be Riven from now on then." She was happy to oblige, it almost made their little attempt of a deal earlier almost seem more legitimate. "And of course, you can call me Viola." She smiled brightly, glad that at least Riven didn't seem to hate her. Maybe they could even become friends, then as friends wouldn't it be even harder to deny the alliance? Viola took Riven to her room, though it wasn't as if she had to unpack anything. "I'll buy you clothes and stuff, since I don't think they'll be paying you." As a Blood Pact, she had a pretty healthy salary. "Maybe some of my clothes could fit you." Though she didn't know if they would be to her taste or not. She sat down on the bed, splaying her arms out, enjoying the chance to relax. She bore a teasing grin. "Some of my clothes are really revealing, so I hope you're ready to show off your cute body."

No doubt Riven wanted to catch up on everything she missed. Vi wouldn't mind the history lesson. "The war's been going on for a while. It's been two years since the Third Impact began." She tried to count backwards in order to determine the year. It was somewhere in the 2100s at least. "It's this year." She pulled her phone out to reveal the date. "How long were you asleep?" And furthermore, why was she there? And why had it taken so long for the Seylum loyalists to try and find her? "Two years ago Baroness Zinnia freed Kuro and Lumos King. No doubt you've heard of them." Likely there wasn't a soul that hasn't heard those names by now. "They destroyed London in days, and began the Third Impact." Kuro and Lumos King ruled the city for nearly half a year. "The Athens Branch was destroyed by Baronness Kitra, a spider-like demon, and in Berlin Baron Messiah defeated the Tower Agents there, contracting the help of Vampire Lord Gavyn and his right hand man, Iflet Seylum." Since then, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and most of Asia had fallen to the demons. London only barely managed to get their strength back, but lost most of it when trying to save Berlin.

Needless to say, it was a disaster on nearly all fronts. "And I guess we're desperate, so us humans are going to be relying on you now." Viola sighed, forgetting about the time because it was just nice to hang out and talk to someone without worrying about all the other stuff. "It's not all hopeless though, since the London Branch was able to seal Kuro and Lumos again and take back their city." Personally, Viola considered most of Tower to be useless. The demons were their problem to begin with! Why couldn't they handle it and stop it all? Berlin was supposed to be the iron fortress that could never fall, Fort Krakenburg was supposed to be impenetrable. But Baron Messiah was able to clean it out and the vampires took nearly everyone alive to turn into vampires.

"Vercingetorix Hall is owned by the Vampire Hunter Legion." It was time to have a history lesson so Riven would be able to understand who she would be forced to work under. "And we've teamed up with the Tower Society for now. Humanity has branches for the war to retake Berlin." She held up a finger, feeling almost like a teacher. "First is the Garrison Army, commanded by Mortimer Ray. He leads the Tower Agents and First Generation Hunters from their base at the Rhine River." Right now they were close to what used to be Belgium. "Second, with Lorraine Vincere as the leader, we have the Blood Pact, an elite force of four - no, five soldiers for special operations." They rarely had to see the front line. "Last is Xiahou Wei, who is responsible for the Research and Development team, working together with an Ellen and Crescent Winter to make new weapons and technology to turn the tide."

Pain throbbing through her body, eyes turning red, veins becoming oily and black. "Shit, the time!" Viola limped off the bed and held her pain in to tear her bag open, revealing a pouch full of candy. She took one and swallowed it nearly whole, and a few seconds later her symptoms returned to normal. Her vision was blurry, her strength weak, she fell onto her face. "B-bag!" Viola whimpered. "Candy pouch... I forgot to take it..." She had to eat candy every night once a night. Viola often forgot to though, which always made the rest of her team worry. She panted, feeling dizzy and lightheaded.

"You are an odd one," Riven admitted, wrinkling her nose as she followed Viola. King Seylum had always made her refer to him as such, or sometimes, he would allow Riven to call him Papa, but never in front of others. The other vampires had all had to refer to him as King, or Master. "I almost suspected you wanted me to call you Master Viola, or Master Vi." She scratched at the cuffs on her wrist, which had nearly become a part of her skin she had been wearing them for so long. Her hair trailed behind her, snagging on various things and causing her to take pause to untangle them. By the time they reached the room, Riven was already tired. She had only gotten droplets of blood and they hadn't been the best quality. "Thank you Viola, that's very kind of you." Some clothing other than the nondescript gray gown she was wearing would be nice.

"that would be fine," Riven said when Viola wondered if any of her clothing would fit Riven. The vampire's cheeks turned pink when Viola mentioned that her clothes were rather suggestive. "I do not retract my previous statement, you are by far one of the strangest humans I've ever met." Riven smoothed out the blanket, which was a bit scratchy, but she didn't mind. No doubt underneath it, it would be very warm. She sat on top of the mattress to test it out, her body sinking into it. Yes, this would do nicely. There was nothing fancy about it, which Riven rather liked. She had never been one for frills and unnecessary fussing. So long as she could have a cup of blood and a warm bath, the vampire would be very happy. She requested a history lesson, hoping she had not missed out on too much.

Viola pulled something from her pocket, a strange silver box. "The Third Impact?" When had the First and Second occurred? What did they entail? Riven's eyes widened when Viola showed her the book with the current date on it. "That can't be right," Riven rose, surprise overcoming her. "I was... It was only 1870 when I was taken. That's nearly 300 years!" The box made a strange sound and Riven jumped, grabbing the pillow in order to protect herself. "What was that noise!" The vampire panicked, looking around, afraid that it was going to happen again. Viola seemed oddly calm despite the sound, was this normal? Did all silver boxes make such strange chirps? Riven settled down, it seemed as though there was no cause to panic.

"Yes, I'm aware of Kuro and Lumos," Riven replied, although they had never caused much trouble on earth. For the most part, the demons had kept to themselves. What had caused the change? "So this Gavyn is the current vampire king?" Riven replied, taking in as much information as she could. "And Iflet... the way you spoke her name I sense you have a history." Most hunters had been impacted by vampires in one way or another, it was the reason they chose to hunt those that were different than them. Kuro and Lumos were returned to their cages, it seemed. The Barons had nearly eradicated London and Berlin, this was certainly a change. "I'm afraid in this form, I cannot do much." If there was a new King of the Vampires, Riven rightfully could go and challenge him, although she did not want to and she did not think that the hunters would let her.

She listened to her short history lesson, it seemed that the humans had much work ahead of them and they expected Riven to join in on their efforts to combat the vampires and the demons. Although by the sound of it, the vampires had a sizable army themselves. "I suppose it's my turn to explain now," Riven smoothed out the gray gown, looking up at Viola. "When a Vampire is changed by a pure blood, an original vampire, as I was, they are given a power." This was not a lesson many knew, as it was not common knowledge among the lesser vampires. "I am an enchanted blade, as the nickname Blood Stained Sword, implies." Riven brushed her hair out of her face, her nickname was not because of her ability with a blade, but because she was the weapon herself.

"I can turn into a weapon, a sword, a staff, for up to two hours. Any longer and I begin to lose any and all sense of self. You must give me the command to change into the sword and to change back, I cannot do so on my own." Riven said calmly. "It is incredibly exhausting to spend more than an hour in that form." She warned, hoping that the message got through.

Viola suddenly spewed profanities and rose, running to her belongings. She pulled out a smaller bag, rifling through and pulling out something coated in sugar. Riven licked her lips as she watched, hungry herself. "Is it medicine?" Riven rose as Viola fell, assisting the human to the bed. Never in her life would she have guessed she would be helping a hunter. Riven lifted the bag and sniffed its contents, bringing it to Viola. "Sweets?"

Viola giggled. Why not? Her phone was already out, wasn't it? "Here's some samples of my outfits." She revealed the times she and Elise went cosplaying last year, as various skimpy clothed anime characters. "The boys never wanted to join, how lame." She grinned, remembering the fun times together with her family. "Elise is really good at sewing! She made most of them for me." Of course Elise would have preferred to go dressed more modestly but Viola could be convincing when she wanted to be. "This year you'll get to dress up too! You look just like that girl from an old anime... Krul Tepes? A pink vampire, just like you." Viola's smile became devious as she stared at the very subtle curve to signify a chest. "Same cup size too."

They shared lessons, one on history, the other, biology. "Yes, Iflet... she had fun with me." It was painful and horrible and broke her heart many times, but it was in the past. The future had many fun times to share! The only regret Vi really had was that she couldn't save her sister. Next time they met, she wouldn't hesitate, she'd join her and become vampires together. Didn't that sound nice? "Gavin Seylum rules with an iron fist. Dozens of humans are sent to Castle Seylum every day. It's said at night sometimes you can hear the screams." She shrugged lazily. "Castle Seylum's near Ukraine's border though so it's not like we can actually hear it." Just a story people liked to tell themselves.

"Don't worry." Viola patted Riven's head comfortingly. "If it hurts you, I won't use it except for emergencies. I already like my weapons just fine." Her throwing knives were great because they always came back to her and allowed her to fight from a safe range, and her short sword allowed her to protect herself when enemies got too close.

All to suddenly Viola's failure to pay attention to time was kicking her butt. Her eyes were dim and blurry and she could barely move, sweating and panting hard. The bag of hard fruity candies was deposited in her hands and Viola hastily took one, placing it into her mouth. After about a minute the pain stopped, her veins no longer black and inky, her eyes returning to their normal blue. "Thanks. I guess you can say I'm diabetic!" Wait, was that how diabetes worked? Vi didn't know, but this candy was the only thing that helped when it happened. "You saved me! You're such a prince in shining armor! Here, a kiss as a reward." Vi leaned in for the kiss, but it was a trick and in truth just an attempt at a hug. "I know you've had it hard." The german said, more earnestly this time. "And it's hard to trust us. But as long as you don't break the rules and hurt others, I'll make sure they won't hurt you, okay? You can be safe here." She did not know what horrors Riven must have faced, but Riven was her friend now, and friends take care of each other.

"We should get some rest." Viola whispered softly. "Training starts tomorrow, I imagine, and I can't wait to see you in our combat uniform."

Riven shook her head, "It doesn't hurt," she corrected, "I used to love it," the screams of the dying as her blade slashed through them, it was such a wonderful sound. "I can split my body into several throwing stars, if that's what you desire." She had never tested the limitations of her ability. The King had always preferred two daggers or a one handed sword, Riven was not sure what else she could turn into, or if she could. Riven wasn't quite sure what she would be doing if not turning into a weapon. Sure, she was strong, all vampires had superhuman strength, hearing, sight, smell, and taste. They had accelerated healing, but Riven was out of practice when it came to fighting with her hands. Even after the King's death, she no longer had a reason to fight.

Riven had a suspicion that Iflet Seylum was the reason that Viola requested to be turned into a vampire, albeit she doubted that the human would tell her, at least, not tonight. No, Riven was going to need to inch the information out of her, to wiggle it gently, without ever allowing Viola to realize that she was manipulating the conversation. "As far as the clothing goes, I prefer to cover as much as I can. It's rather insensible," and to be compared to an imaginary vampire was almost an insult. The human went on to speak of other things, mentioning a disease that Riven had never heard of. She frowned, wondering whatever diabetes was. She leaned away, hoping that Viola would not kiss her, but arms wrapped around her, pinning Riven's arms to her sides.

What was this? What was the hunter doing? The pressure was odd, almost pleasant, but Riven stiffened. "What are you doing?" The vampire inquired, slightly panicked. Was Viola going to stab her in the back? Was she going to threaten Riven until she changed her? Instead, the human's voice became earnest, calling this place, this Hall, a spot of safety. She remained stiff until Viola released her and waved, dismissing the vampire. Riven watched Viola leave, wondering if the human she had been paired with was truly insane. "Goodnight," Riven watched her go, completely exhausted. The door shut behind her, the lock clicking into place. The vampire tested the knob, but it would not budge. She crawled into bed, wondering if there was a restroom she had access to, or if the door locking signified she had lost any chance to go. No matter, Riven was was a big girl, she could hold it until morning.

"Stop," Riven croaked, coughing, her breath tasting of garlic. She sat chained in the sun, her limbs pinned down with crosses that had been nailed through her hands and legs. "Please, just kill me," the vampire begged. "You can't die," Terrance grinned, face overcome by a shadow. "Not until you're cured," he slit his hand with an old knife, allowing his blood to drip into her mouth. He held his palm against her lips, letting Riven sip just enough to stave off death. He smeared it down her chin when he rose, Riven aching for more. He left her there as he went to work the field, the sun burning her skin. Riven was a day walker, but her pale complexion made it easier for her to burn.

She had no energy to cry, she could not risk letting tears run down her face and yet, they prickled at the edges of her vision, footsteps crunching behind her. Terrance was returning.

"Someone save me."

Riven awoke feeling wet. She was nullified to find that she had let loose during her sleep, the bed stained yellow. She cursed, looking to the door in the hopes that she had time to get rid of the evidence. Riven removed her clothing, disposing of them in the bin. She stripped the bed next, but there was a puddle where she had laid.

"Aww, geez, that was my bad." Viola sighed, shaking her head at the sight of the urine covering the bed. "Sorry, I shoulda showed you how to do it." She lead Riven to the corner near the unbreakable window and pressed a button, a door sliding open to reveal a toilet and a small shower and even a sealed mirror to look at her reflection with. In Vi's arms were a bundle of clothes she left atop the dresser, and hygiene supplies like a toothbrush and paste, skin-softening lavender scented soap and even lilac shampoo and conditioner. "Here, let's get you cleaned up." Vi shoved Riven into the bath after stripping her, turning the water on. With state of the art technology, they did not have to wait around for hot water.

The german decided to follow Riven into the bath, neatly stripping her casual uniform and hopping in. There was just barely enough room for the two of them, it was lucky that both girls were short and small. She helped teach Riven how to use soap, how to soak her hair in conditioner and shampoo, how to wash it all off. Naturally she used her hands for this. "Here in the new century, we have new standards for cleanliness." Viola said with a happy smile, enjoying the chance to sneak a feel here and there as she helped Riven clean up. "Now let's get dried off and see what clothes we can wear today!" She used the electric drier, warm air blowing the water off of their bodies, almost hugging them as it did so. Viola then threw a set of undergarments Riven's way, quickly covering up her own essentials as well.

After a variety of cosplay costumes, including the Krul Tepes vampire, Riven finally settled on both girls wearing the white combat uniform for today. "You look slick!" Viola whistled appreciatively at how the suit fit on Riven. "Much better than what you were wearing before." There was one problem left and it was the bed. "Luckily the bed is a self cleaning one. Here." Riven slid a switch on the side of the bed, causing mechanical hands to rise up and begin the cleaning process. "By tonight your bed will be safe once again, Riven." Now was time for them to meet the others for roll call and breakfast.

"Elite Squad Blood Pact." Lorraine spoke in the training room once they all had their fill. "I would send you on another special mission, but today you have a new member." The wheelchaired commander smiled as she addressed each of them. "Riven Seylum, for the time being you will be assigned the name Blood Pact Five. Do note, you cannot resist, Viola has control over you." Vi waved, gesturing to the mark on her chest, one that Riven shared with her. "Today, the five of you will have a practice fight against a strong opponent." The curtain parted to reveal the enemy for today's training.

Christopher and Doll, the strongest pair ever to live.

The door handle jiggled open. Riven froze, her entire body stiffening as Viola entered, looking at the mess and apologizing. Riven tensed, preparing to be berated or slapped, her nervousness clear in her body language. Instead, Viola apologized, confusing the vampire. There was a knob on the wall that revealed a door that had not been there previously. "Why are you... apologizing?" Riven inquired, confused. "I'm nearly five hundred, if anything, you should be yelling at my indecency." She had never been treated gently before, that much was clear. No, the vampire had, had a very strict upbringing by the King. Viola was carrying belongings with her, most of which she perched atop the dresser. She had apothecary bottles with her, which she took with her into the strange looking room. Riven stood nervously in the entryway, uncertain what all of the devices were for.

Hands pressed against her back, shoving her inside. The vampire tripped as she stumbled into the bathroom, Viola forcefully pushing her into what Riven could only assume was the bathtub. Water came from the strange looking dial, instantly warm. She marveled at the technology, running her hands through the gloriously hot water, feeling like ichor against her skin. Yesterday she had been given a towel wash, today she was allowed an entire bath. "What is this sorcery?" Riven admired, looking up only to see Viola removing her clothing to join Riven in the bath. Riven slipped, falling onto her behind, water sloshing over the side of the tub. There was much to be learned here, they used soap instead of scented oils to clean themselves, which rubbed skin away instead of simply masking any smells.

There were scented soaps for her hair as well, one runny, the other thick and cloudy. Both smelled like the lilac fields that the King had taken her to once, in celebration of her first birthday as a vampire. "This seems rather excessive," riven murmured, although she had no reason to argue. She allowed Viola to clean her, jumping when she felt an unexpected squeeze. Riven was almost sad to watch the hot water go, but she allowed Viola to pull her to her feet and stand over a grate that dried them with warm air. It felt even better against her skin, Riven relishing the sensation until the drier turned off. "Can we do it again?" Riven inquired, "This bath and drying?" Her eyes were wide and eager, like a child who had been given a lollipop or a puppy.

The next step was underclothes, although they were much fancier than anything Riven was used to and they clung to her body uncomfortably. "No, I do not like this," she attempted to pull off the chemise, but Viola had fastened it behind her and Riven's arms could not bend that way. Afterwards Viola made Riven parade around in multiple outfits, ranging from tightly clinging, to horribly revealing. Eventually, Viola seemed satisfied with the uniform she was also wearing. Riven was in for another surprise, a mirror in which she could see her reflection. She nearly started at the sight of herself, her hair a mop, her eyes red and piercing. "I look akin to a child playing dress up," she frowned and turned when Viola addressed her. "Self... cleaning?" Riven watched as Viola flipped a switch, hands coming to rearrange everything.

Riven had no time to admire it all, Viola grabbed her arm, taking her to breakfast. She tugged on the bottom of the outfit, attempting to cover herself a bit more. She sat beside the human, noticing a certain look passing between the hunters when she seated herself. "Vi, why is that filth wearing our uniform?" Jacob asked, Riven stiffening. She knew he would be a problem.

While the others were served, Riven received a glass of blood. She drank it slowly, relishing the taste. The human called Elise gagged when Riven licked her lips, not disguising her disgust. She shocked all of them when she reached across the table and poured cereal into her glass, then doused it in blood. "Mm, crunchy," Dominic laughed.

They met in another room, this one much larger than the last. Riven wondered how many more rooms this palace held. She stood beside Viola as their instructor, the woman in the wheelchair, arrived. "As I am not a Blood Pact, I think Five will be just fine." Riven replied, she made no mention of the fact that Viola had control over her, already well aware from this morning's bath and clothing parade. The curtain opened to reveal their opponent, a human and a demon.

No, not just any demon. Riven knew that face, they had met before. Doll gave a polite wave, her expression turning into one of surprise when their eyes met. "You-" they spoke at the same time, her human grabbing her shoulder to break her out of the reverie.

|| Till The Day we Die || Pagan Fury ||

"Hmm?" Viola tilted her head a little, wondering if she should read more into that or not. What was this silly vampire going on about? "I apologize when I make a mistake. I should have told you how to open the bathroom." She raised an eyebrow with a silly sort of grin. "Here, everyone takes responsibility when they know they're at fault, okay?" Riven really was peculiar. How often had she been blamed for someone else's mistake? She must have had a hard life even before being up on the mountain shack. She was so odd that she even enjoyed taking a bath. Viola didn't like them so much, but she knew they were important. "Every morning, it'll be our ritual, okay?" Vi wouldn't turn down a chance to see a cute girl naked though, even if that girl is a vampire.

An immense power, they could all sense it. Christopher and Doll were standing there, they didn't change their position or anything. But their intent to fight was incomparable now. One moment they were just greeting everyone, the next, everyone in the room could feel the pair's strength. "I was waiting for a chance like this." Jacob grinned, pulling out his sword. Jacob's sword, the Extella was longer and wider than Christopher's Excelciur. The swords were brothers, but they were different of course. Jacob's had more strength in it's swing as well as better reach, but Christopher's lighter sword allowed for quicker movements and parries. Breathing in sync, the four Blood Pacts slit their arms at the exact same moment, all their eyes glowing was red as those of a vampire. "Heh." Doll smirked, her arm turning into a sword. She was going to go easy, she wasn't going go full power yet. Full power Doll was when she entered the Exelciur. "Riven, let's prove you have the right to wear this uniform." Jacob might have scorned Riven earlier, but this fight would show Riven was a part of the team now.

Just as practiced, the original four Blood Pacts struck at Doll immediately. Dominic clashed with her, his gauntlet's claws scratching and scissoring as he tried to break past Christopher's sword's defense at the same time Doll cut through Elise's bullets as if they were jokes, kicking Jacob away as he lunged with Extella, Chris changing position so he could block Vi's knives before they cut his eyes. "How did you-" Elise was confused as Dominic was pinned to the ground by Chris's arm grappling him. "Vi!" Dominic shouted. "Now!" Viola grinned, throwing her knives in an arc, throwing another handful do curve around the other side, pulling out her short sword to strike when at the last second she kicked Chris with her enhanced legs, pushing him off of Dom and allowing Dom to tackle Doll, pushing her into a wall.

Doll looked almost lazy as she flicked him away, delivering a whirling kick to stop another of Elise's bullets. "Perfect aim means nothing if your target can break the bullets first." Doll said with a smile, pouncing on Vi, delivering an overwhelming flurry of sword strikes until Jacob ran in, slashing with his sword to try and knock Doll's out of her hand. "Vi, back up, I've got this!" They were fighting like a well oiled machine, front liners like Dom and Jacob covering so that Elise and Vi could attack from the rear. "Riven!" Vi cried, slashing her leg to increase the strength in her sword arm. "Help me double team Doll here!"

Christopher moved with fast speeds but Dominic was faster. While Chris was at peak human condition despite his age, he wasn't superhuman, he couldn't move past mortal limits. All of his power with his with experience and technique, so of course a blood paced human like Dom could outrun him. "You won't get to Elise." Dom grunted, pushing Christopher back with his enhanced strength. Elise nodded, jumping back as she pulled out a different weapon. She mounted it to the ground so that it wouldn't break into pieces from it's power. "Protect me, please!" This gun needed time to prepare, of course. It was a railgun, state of the art technology and one of the first working models of the weapon. "I'll blow them both away." Dom nodded, rotating to punch at Chris's knee while Chris was dealing with Jacob.

"That's a big gun, isn't it?" Christopher tripped Dominic and dashed to interrupt the gunslinger before Dom could get back up. At that moment Jacob sprinted in, sword swinging right at his brother's foot. "Your target is me! Isn't it unbecoming to attack a girl, brother?!" Chris grinned almost in amusement. "Sorry, but look at that giant gun, it reminds me of Baron Gunnar..." Gunnar ended up dying to Wolfe, possible the strongest human on the Earth. As his name stated, he could create giant guns. "Just buy me another minute." Elise panted, because the gun's prep to fire was powered by her own body's strength.

Christopher and Doll were legendary in their strength and skill. It really was an honor to get the chance to go up against them. But no matter how strong, they weren't invincible. Even they had limits. Baron Asmodeus had been strong enough to defeat them both, and Baronesses Zinnia and Nova together would have been able to win as well. Perhaps with good enough teamwork, they could come out with a victory.

As Doll and Riven were at it Vi went at her from behind, jumping up to launch more of her knives when Doll grabbed her ankle and tossed her to the side. Vi twisted her body around to land feet first at the wall, bouncing off of it to try and cut at Doll's fingers. The other three were dealing with Chris, so it was up to her and Riven to take care of Doll. "You're pretty cute. Wanna date?" She chortled as she slashed her short sword only to have it blocked then immediately kicked, the weapon flying to the other side of the room. "Sorry, but I'm a taken woman." Doll said with a faint almost maidenly blush. "Surrender now." The demon shoved Viola to the ground, claws digging into her shoulders. This was the perfect chance for Riven to finish her off from behind if she was in position for it.

The last time Riven had seen Doll, the demon was half her current size and was clinging to her Mother's dress. Now, she was double that size, at least in chest area alone, and was not afraid to show her ankles. Before Riven's sleep, women did not dress so indecently. Now, they seemed perfectly fine with flaunting their shoulders and collarbones for the world. Did they not know that was how one tempted a vampire? Senselessly showing off every part of their bodies. Was nothing sacred anymore? Riven brushed her hair off of her shoulders, they were preparing to battle, she would need to assist. Doll too, took a battle stance, smiling, for whatever reason. Demons did enjoy the rush of battle, didn't they? Riven was no different, vampires too, enjoyed a good fight.

"Right," Riven tugged on her skirt, wishing it were just a bit longer. Had the right to wear the uniform? She almost guffawed. It wasn't as though she had the desire to wear it in the first place. What Riven did want, however, was more of those glorious baths. It was so warm and it had stayed warm the entire time rather than being lukewarm when drawn and slowly growing colder. The vampire tied her hair back as much as she could, hoping to keep herself from tripping. What was she to do? When the whistle was blown and the fray began, the others all charged at their targets. Riven watched, wondering how five humans were going to beat a demon and a man with a legendary sword.

She waited, wondering what she was to do in the meanwhile. She twiddled with a loose thread on one of the buttons until Viola called her name. "Hmm? Oh yes, coming!" She called, tripping almost instantly. Riven rose, making a second attempt, diving forward into battle. While the others took on the man, Riven and Doll fought. Neither took the other seriously of course, as this was just play battle. "So, what is a demon like you doing with a man like that?" Riven inquired as they exchanged blows. "That's my... significant other, you could say," Doll replied as Riven ducked and spun around in order to avoid being struck with the sword. She used the silver cuffs to grab the blade between, the two locked in arms.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were dead. All of the demons heard word when you went missing. They thought you killed yourself because King Seylum was gone." Riven shook her head, falling back as Doll pushed in pursuit. "I was... asleep, you could say." Riven replied, kicking Doll in the chest. Doll struck her on the arm, Riven hissing as her blood dripped down her shoulder. "Mysterious, I suppose the humans had you stored somewhere until you were needed." Riven didn't answer, Viola decided to join the fray. It was now two against one. Riven was used to fighting as a team, with a superior.

"I suppose she could surrender," Riven jumped onto Doll's back from behind. "Or she could hit you from behind!" Riven locked her arms around Doll's neck, the demon hitting her against the wall in an attempt to knock her off. Riven pulled backwards, gasping in pain as she flipped Doll over. Doll grabbed her ankle, slamming Riven hard against the floor.

|| Till The Day we Die || Pagan Fury ||

Viols got up when Riven grabbed Doll from behind, only to be slammed onto the ground. Viola slashed her stomach to draw out more power, then moved at near instantaneous speeds to grab Doll by the hand, smacking her into a wall. Viola felt a bit dizzy, you weren't supposed to sacrifice more than three times in a battle because it was dangerous for your internal organs, but this was important! She wanted to impress Riven and show off that she wasn't just some weak human with funny blood! "I see you're near your limit." Doll noted as she climbed out of the choke hold Vi was pinning her in. "I'll concede defeat, but can the rest of your team beat Christopher?" Viola coughed, flecks of dark blood from her insides came out but she felt mostly okay. "They'll be fine. This is Elise's masterpiece!" She gestured for Riven to come over so Vi could rest her head on Riven's cute lap.

Dominic and Jacob were doing their best to hold Christopher off so that Elise would have the time she needed to fire her railgun. "Twenty seconds!" The motherly blonde cried. "Please hold on until then." Christopher flashed his sword, forcing Dom to the ground and Jacob to the side. "not good enough, not yet." The nobleman murmured, rushing right for Elise. "How about no. You'll have to get through me first!" Dominic tackled Chris from one side, allowing Jacob to follow up with kicking Christopher's sword hand. "I'll show you that I'm the best Delanore!" Jacob growled, eyes glowing crimson. "Valkyria, fire!" There was an almost angelic sound and then a bright beam of light, the electric bolt flying right at Chris. He swung his sword to block the bolt but it curved upwards to avoid the sword, circling around so he side stepped and ducked, but the bolt continued to follow him. He threw his sword at it, causing an explosion to blow him backwards into the wall, allowing Jacob to place Extella at his neck. "Yes, I did it!" Chris smiled, raising his hands to concede defeat. "Congratulations, Jacob, you did." Naturally he and Doll were going easy o them since they were still young, but the fact that with teamwork they managed victory was still to be congratulated.

Naturally, each of the Blood Pact had a special weapon to their name. Dominic wielded the Arfoire, a legendary clawed glove that could steal magic and throw it back at you. Elise's weapon was the Valkyria, a mounted railgun that, while takes a while to set up, delivers a mighty blow with it's homing bolt. Viola's throwing knives were called the Rhomphaia, magical knives that could curve however she wished and would always return to her hands, one blade for each finger. Lastly was Jacob's Extella, a sword that absorbed sunlight over time, and the more sun it stored the stronger it became.

"Congratulations, you succeeded. Your teamwork is improving, and I'm quite proud of you." Lorraine said. "Elise required only a single cut, so I'm glad. Dominic and Jacob, you both needed two cuts to succeed. That's still acceptable, but please be more careful in the future." Each cut stole minutes of your life away. It would add up and eventually be years and years if this war lasted too long. "Viola, three is past the safe limit. While you succeeded, I'm worried if you keep it up you'll die young." Viola grimaced, looking away. "Yeah, yeah. I'll try to be careful." She always had a problem with moderating it. Now Lorraine looked at Riven and then sighed. "It's hard to judge your true power, since you weren't at your peak, but I know you'll be an asset to the team."

Once that was over and everyone was cleaned up a bit it was time for their reward. On the table, Lorraine pulled the silver cover up, revealing a large multi-layered cake that looked so fluffy and light. "Hey." Viola grinned, pointing. "Let's get the best spice, the corners with the most icing!" As she went over to grab the knife before Jacob could get there, Vi looked at her new vampire friend. "Oh, you know what cake is, right? Did they have them during your time?"

Doll conceded defeat, allowing them to take this as a win. Riven sank down, Viola seeming to take this as an invitation to lay her head on her lap. Doll sat down on the floor beside them, the three of them watching the rest of the group fight. The battle seemed to be over quickly, Christopher too, conceded defeat. It seemed that they had gone easy on them, Riven was aware that Doll's potential was much stronger and with a legendary sword, Christopher too, should have been able to beat them easily. "I've never seen anything like that," Riven's eyes widened at the sight of the gun. The fire power alone was enough to make the rest of the room flinch. "What is that?" Riven inquired, watching as the machine began to whir and sent light flashing across the room.

Lorraine, the wheelchair woman began return. It seemed she had been evaluating them from a safe spot while they went all out in battle. Riven flinched, the cut on her arm slowly healing already. She was lucky, had it been silver, the cut would not have healed so easily. Viola rose and Riven followed her, wondering what they were doing now. It seemed that they were being evaluated now, but Riven could not be included considering she was not fighting at peak strength. "That is a fair assessment," she nodded. She could not fight at full power because she was not at full strength. She would never truly be able to fight at full power so long as she was forced to wear the silver cuffs. It seemed that they needed to be patched up next.

Riven's arm was looked at, but it had already healed. The tech cautiously put a band aid over it, as though Riven would lash out and bite him. She spotted a pair of scissors on the counter and watched the tech leave. Riven grabbed them, but she could not see herself in any of those mirrors. She pulled her hair out of its pony tail and began to cut away, her head feeling significantly lighter. She ran her fingers through it when she was done, hoping that it was even. Oh well, if not, she would merely hack at it in the mirror that she could see through. Riven tucked the scissors into her waist band, it would be good to have them around, should she need them.

She followed Viola to the table, where their reward for today's battle was waiting. Riven sat down beside her, wondering if it was alright for her to be there considering the hostility earlier this morning. Riven's eyes widened, watching as the lid was lifted to reveal something large, with a sugary smell. "That's a cake?!" Riven's eyes could not widen any further. She shook her head, she had never seen anything like it. "I've never seen one so fancy before," vampires didn't typically eat sweets, King Seylum had forbid most human foods. During her travels, Riven had enjoyed indulging in sweets, where no one could watch her.
