Sylfania is a mostly carefree world. The people are quite leasurely and eccentric. However in this world there are also some dangers. Monsters are to be found in the lands and every time they get too close to civilization or attack humans, the slaying legion moves out to kill the monsters. The monsters can be as small as cats and as large as mountains. But occasionally something more dangerous pops up and entire squads are needed to take them down. The enemy is fearsome but the legion says that they (the legion) need to be more fearsome.

The legion: Currently the only standing army in Sylfania, mostly tasked to destroy monsters. There are only about two dozen soldiers per island that take care of any issues that arise. There are however active members and reservists. Active members are always on duty and always ready while reservists mostly only act if they come across monsters by chance while travelling. The reservists mostly have normal lives with normal occupations and are rather a militia. The main weapon of the legion is the gunblade. Gunblades vary by combat style of the user. Close combat soldiers may have short blade - pistol hybrids or long blade - pistol hybrid. More distanced fighters mostly carry a rifle with a blade while damage heavy fighters carry heavy gunblades that are more of a greatsword cannon hybrid.

Uniform: While in training everyone wears camoflage pants and a tank top unless the weather is cold then they wear a sweater or a turtleneck. They also wear boots. During service, attire may be more individualized however there are certain rules regarding the attire:
-The primary color must be medium or dark blue.
-The attire cannot hinder combat: No high heels, socks can't slip, no long skirts, no loose caps, clothing shouldn't be too loose.
-The attire is recommended to be somewhat protective (leather or light metal parts can fall under this)
-No swimwear.
-Jewelry cannot dangle. No necklaces, no loose wristbands, no hanging belts. This goes especially since some people got decapitated in combat because of necklaces. If you have a pendant or locket important to you wear a collar or wear it on an anklet.

Technology is modern just there is less traffic on the roads and weapons are usually gunblades.

Sylfania landscape: Large islands relatively close to each other commonly mountainous coasts and grassy flatlands in the centers where most urban settlement is.
