He watched out the window of the car at all the scenery passing by. He head was lying on his arm as he tried seeing anything out in the distance, which only confirmed his notion that this place that they were going to was out in the middle of nowhere, he hadn’t even heard of the place before. But finally there was a speck out in the sky; at least it was a sign of life, as he hadn’t seen any since they left that last city almost a day ago. He kept his eyes on it, and finally the shape of a bird came into focus, he watched it fly for a few seconds then went back to watching the road. He sat up as the outline of a small town came into view and they pulled into…it took him a few minutes to remember the name, Full Moon Park. He found the name a bit strange but figured he would have to get used to it eventually depending on how long they stayed here.

They drove down a few streets, his dad trying to make small talk about how they were going to like the place here, and that Daniel and his brother would make friends quickly here. His mother tried making the best out of it, pointing out what little places he had might want to go to and the amount of space there was here. He kept silent through it all, just wanting to make a place his own. When they finally pulled up to the house he got out of the car and took out a box from the inside that was labeled as his and went inside. He walked through all the rooms and then set his things down in the one claimed as his own. He set the box down on the bed and opened the window, letting in the cool air. He put his headphones in his ears and began to unpack the box he had, pulling out a few posters, knickknacks, and several books.

He let his music play, the lyrical voices flowing and the rapid beats with a piano making him close his eyes as his muscles loosened. Music always calmed him down, made his head less fuzzy and emotions more manageable. He glanced around the basically bare room and started thinking where he could place all his stuff. The walls were white which he would ask to change eventually, but for now he just needed to place things. He paused slightly as he saw a bird perched on the window sill and decided not to scare it off by going over and trying to pet it.

He left the room and went back out to the trucks, dodging around movers bringing in furniture and boxes; he made his way to the last truck and pulled out a box that was labeled his room. He went back inside and dropped the box down on the floor, using a switchblade from his pocket he cut through the tape and starting pulling out pieces of wood and screws that make up his bookshelf. He went back to the truck to get a few tools and finally got to work putting the shelf together, humming along to his tune.

Dyla had shifted into the form of a seven year old girl wearing baggy jeans and a black over-sized tank, before climbing up a large Oak tree........mere moments before the cars pulled in.
"Oh yay, visitors. It's been too long!" she said gleefully, as she followed the cars movement. She noticed her friend Skye swoop down for a better look, but decided to stay hidden in the foliage until the car made its way past her.

Once it did, she quickly climbed up the tree until she reached a branch that would allow her to jump onto the roof of the closet building.
Ever the roughneck, Dyla would jump roof to roof, in desperate pursuit of the car.......until the roof-tops became too far apart, and she was forced to jump to the ground to continue her pursuit.

"A family of four, hmm?" she whispered to herself, as she noticed them all getting out of their vehicle with boxes or bags, and then walk inside the once unoccupied house.
She began to wonder about different ways to get a better look.......and finally, after a few minutes, she noticed Skye perched in a tree that lined up directly with one of the new residents windows.

After making sure no one was around to see, Dyla went to run out from behind the building, but before should could, she noticed a group of her fellow residents beginning to crowd around the movers.
"Gee, that's doesn't look odd or intimidating...." she muttered sarcastically as she peered over the small group of people.
She was going to leave, until she noticed Skye coming out of her house in her human form. So with little thought, Dyla closed her eyes and shifted back into her normal appearance......causing the baggy jeans to shrink into a pair of shorts, and the over-sized tanktop, to suddenly become fitted.

"Yo! Skye!" Dyla called out, as she pushed her way towards Skye.

"Here to scope out the newcomers? Never pegged you for a snoop!" she whispered jokingly, once she arrived at her friends side.

"Yo! Skye! Here to scope out newcomers? Never pegged you for a snoop!" She sighed a little as Dyla came over.

"I'm not snooping. Saw them come in on my morning flight, and was more than a little curious. The tall one, he looks to be around our age," Her voice dropped to a whisper as one of the shifter-gangs, a section of the Vipers, paused looking at them. "Wanted to make sure that neither they, or Canis, or anyone else scares them off. Or worse," she added with a glare at the one staring at her throat. The Vipers were one of the gangs all ascociated with a specific "breed" of shifter, all of them venomous snakes(both literally and figuratively). Canis and the Vixens were both dog-gangs, one all male the other all female. There were others too, but the majority of them kept to themselves. These two groups had been at war for decades.... "We really don't need another case out here. It's hard enough as we are to stay in the shadows....."

Skye was about halfway down the road to the school, still grumbling to herself about darus and the other Vipers. Something just didn't feel right, it was as though she had forgotten something important. With an annoyed growl she turned around, waving to Dyla and shoving a small stack of papers at her. "My homework from all my classes today. It's in order, just need to hand them over. If anyone asks I got sick!" She called as she took off back down the street without waiting for her to make any response. Gods, why the hell am I so rude?! Least I coulda done was ask her first.... But gotta make sure the Vipers didn't circle back around. Darus is pretty damn thick.... That was true, but even she knew better than to assume the Viper Head would be stupid enough to come back right away. She really was just as curious about these new people, and gave herself a reasonable excuse to meet them. Moving faster than even most Canis members, she skidded to a halt by the door and rang the bell twice.

He had his brother working for him, with the promise that he would go and help with his room in return. He was pinning up a poster on one side of the room while his brother was putting his art things away. He guessed that would be one plus to moving somewhere so remote, he would be able to draw in peace, and have an actual landscape to look at rather than a picture printed off a computer. He took another chip from the bag his brother had gotten for both of them when he heard the doorbell ring. He tilted his head a little and went to the door. ”I’ll get it!” He did get the room closest to the door, but it had the largest window, let in the most light.

He went to the door and opened the large piece of wood without a squeak. In front of him was a girl, not exactly what he was expecting, not that he was complaining, beautiful dark hair and sky blue eyes. ”Uuuhhh……” His voice caught, which he would find later to be quite stupid of him, but at the moment, he couldn’t think of what he was going to say. His brother bounced at his side, bag of chips in on hand, and holding his other hand out to the girl. ”Hi!!!”

He could already tell that this girl was nice; she wasn’t put out by his brother’s straight forwardness. He took her outstretched hand. ”Nice to meet you, I’m Daniel, this is my brother, Christopher. And it’s all right, I understand, being a small town and all. We just weren’t used to it, big city everyone comes and goes it isn’t really uncommon to see moving trucks or convoys of whole families come by.” He dropped her hand and noticed her backpack; he almost forgot they were still in school time. He wondered briefly if she was ditching or was going to give some excuse for being late.

Before he could say something else his brother piped up once again, pointing out the door behind Skye. [i]”I saw him earlier!” He looked up at Skye, ”His face looks like a snake to me, they can be cool! Some people think they’re all slimy but I don’t. And did you know! Their scales are made of the stuff our finger nails are made of?!? And their eyes!......” His brother was just going to keep babbling about snakes until Skye stopped him or he did…

Chris, immediately shut up at Skye’s stern look at him, and nodded at her request. Before he could go on another rant on why he couldn’t find out who the boy was, Daniel put his hand over his brother’s mouth. [/b]”Thanks for telling us, it’s nice to know who to avoid sometimes.”[/b] He looked down at Chris, [/b]”Go finish what you were doing, we may get to your room later.”[/b] The little boy gave a pout and stuck his tongue out at him then stalked off making sure to stuff a mouth full of chips on his way.

Daniel laughed a little and turned his attention back to Skye. ”Thanks for the offer, we could use some help, but you sure you don’t have to be at school or anything? It won’t get you in trouble will it?” As he spoke he slowly lead her back to one of the trucks so he could procure another box.

"It's no trouble. Once the curiosity dies down, most of the town is a pretty col group of people. But you seriously want to keep away from the Vipers. Canis too, if you can help it, but most of them aren't too bad," She spoke extremely vaguely to keep the town's secret and still protect the family. "And no, I won't get in trouble. I do this a lot, usually on daytrips up to the amusment park. I love being up on the rides, its like flying!" She smiled brightly as she half-lied. She really did go to other towns, and really did fly, just not on amusment park rides. "Anything I can do to help?"

He led Skye to the truck and he climbed inside to get some more boxes or whatever was left inside. ”We’re mainly just unloading right now. Getting the big stuff inside and important things we’ll need first.” He slid a few chairs towards the opening that belonged to their dinner table then jumped down, pulling the chairs off of the truck. ”We can start with these. I’ll let my mom and dad know that you’re helping, when we get inside.” He lifted two of the chairs and started for the house. He glanced back make sure she was fallowing then scotched his way through the door. ”So you were talking about Vipers and Canis? Who are they, like a gang or something?”

He nodded, listening to her speak. "Thanks for telling me, I'll have to make sure to avoid them then. And make sure I don't do anything to get on their bad sides." He set the chairs down in the kitchen so his mother could place them where she wanted. He looked up as she came into the room, her long brown hair in a high ponytail. "Who's this Daniel?" He glanced at Skye, "This is Skye, she said she wanted to help us." His mother nodded, "Okay dear, as long as it doesn't get you in trouble to stay." Daniel smiled and led Skye back outside to continue unloading.

He walked back outside to the trucks, kind of nice his mother wasn’t all imposing like she could be, asking question after question, and getting Skye’s whole life story in a few minutes if she wanted to. But I guess they were all too busy to ask too many formal questions that he was sure his parents were going to ask later. He helped drag a few boxes out of the truck, handing one to Skye and grabbing two for himself. ”These will go in my brother’s room.” He led the way back into the house. ”I’m guessing you’ve lived here your whole life?”

He glanced back at the house across the street, so that was her house, at least kind of had a friend close. He headed inside the house and nodded. ”Ya my mom’s ok, she’ll have you talking for a long time though, asking questions.” He glanced around, trying to remember where his brother had picked his room then headed down the hall. ”Came from the Big City, super long boring drive though. You don’t want to be stuck in the same car as my brother for that long.” He set the boxes down next to the bed. ”Speaking of the rascal where did her go…?”

He nodded to Skye; he wasn’t sure where she was going to, probably left something. He felt a little bad that she hadn’t gone anywhere but here, it wasn’t too far that she and the others were so deprived of things. He started pulling things out of boxes, his brother’s marvel’s superheroes sheets, some video games, and action figures. He wondered where his brother was, probably roaming around the house, searching for nonexistent secret passages between the walls and floorboards.

He smiled at Skye when she came back and nodded. ”I’ve had a few of those, have to make sure those get taken care of or you never hear the end of it.” He laughed a little, remembering the situation he had with one of his friends a while back where he didn’t help him in time and a for the next week he got the brunt of his friend’s anger until he helped him ace a test. He started unpacking a few of his brother’s things then sighed. ”Told him I would help him, not do it for him. Guess I’ll have to go search for him, or wait for him to come back.” He turned back to Skye. ”Well I don’t think there’s much else to do, besides the actual unpacking things from the boxes, thanks for the help.”

He paused and looked back at Skye when she pulled out her phone; he was debating asking her what the message said. But he didn’t want to sound nosey, or be too intrusive as she may not want to share whatever it said. Luckily he didn’t have to debate longer as she told him someone’s dog got out. He nodded, ”Sure I can go help, I’ll just tell mother I’ll be out for a bit.” He walked off down the hallway quickly and found his mother putting things away in her closet. ”I’m going to go help Skye get a friends dog back in the yard. I’ll b back later.” His mother gave him a nod and he met Skye outside. ”Where should we go look first?”

He nodded at Skye and fallowed until she found her friend. She wasn’t exaggerating when she said the boy was timid, he was shaking there, standing in place and looking as if Daniel wanted to eat him or something. When the boy disappeared he blinked at how fast he was able to conceal himself in the bushes and fallowed Skye through. He knew he was okay with dogs, he had had one when he was little and he loved him. But he wasn’t sure how this one was going to ask, especially if he was hurt, animals didn’t do well when they were hurt or scared, they made themselves worse or ran off.

As Zeff was walking along, a human shifter ran his tail over. The wolf growled a bit at the clumsy rabbit shifter. Great... So I can't eat him... he thought. He hated killing as much as a harmless bird shifter does, ironically. Wolf shifters weren't as bad as you think. Only when they were REALLY hungry would they kill. But he was probably being a little bias since Rabbit shifters were the pray for some of his kind. Zeff rolled his eyes when the rabbit practically flew back, eyes widened in terror. then, Skye came out of the blue. Of course he knew Skye. Almost everyone did.

What confused him the most though is when she started talking to him as if he were some sort of pet! That was really offensive to a Canis. Course they weren't dogs. they were nobodies pets. Free as the wind itself. That is, until you become loyal to someone. then that's a whole new story. Zeff was taking into consideration to shift back into his human form and scowl at Skye for doing such a thing when he saw him. A dark haired male he had never seen before. Ever. Trust him in saying, Zeff doesn't forget a face. He must have been the one who had moved into that house that was for sale. He must be the human. Huh! I should've known that Skye would be the first to befriend him... Realization hit him at once and his eyes darted to Skye's. The question lingering in his iris's 'Does he know?' they seemed to be asking both in curiousness and panic. They had no idea how a human would react when he was in a neighborhood surrounded by venomous snake shifters, killer wolves, and huge felines.

Zeff then started to whine and limp over to Skye and brushed up against her leg. Ugh this is so gross... He complained in his mind. He just didn't want the town to probably get bombarded by military forces or something in that means.

He fallowed Skye and her friend Keiro through the bushes until they got to the dog. It seemed pretty wounded and even though only looked at Keiro, the skittish boy jumped back and practically stood frozen like a deer in the headlights. He almost chuckled but he didn’t want to sound rude to him. ”Try not to be so scared, and the dogs won’t be so tough.” Keiro looked at him eyes wide, and he couldn’t place his finger on it but there was something off about him. But he figured he could think about it later, and turned his focus to the dog, which he found was rather large for a pet. He seemed almost wolf like instead of an animal that someone would want to keep in the house. The dog went up to Skye and brushed up against her leg with a whine. ”Seems we won’t have much trouble will we?” He reached out slowly, letting the dog sniff him and then scratched behind his ears softly. ”Good boy, let’s get you back home.”

The shifter read her eyes and growled a bit when the human scratched behind his ear. Before both human and Shifter could pull away though, he suddenly started fake limping towards Skye's place. Limping past the rabbit shifter he stopped and glanced over at him. You really think that I would eat you. Please. If I would've wanted to eat you, you would have been dead before Skye could even back you up. So calm you nerves down. He growled at the rabbit before continuing on with his 'limp'. Normally, Zeff would never act like this. To Kiero, to Skye, and especially not the new guy but after all that has happened, Zeff was in no mood to put on a smile for everyone.

Zeff continued 'limping' in the direction of Skye's house. This is so humiliating. This is so humiliating. this is SO humiliating... He kept repeating and repeating over and over in his head. Why couldn't he avoid Darus in the first place. Why couldn't he have just beaten all those fools butts. He could be at home right now watching who knows what eating a freshly cooked supper. No, Instead he had to have been beaten by one of those snakes, fake limping in front of two other shifters(Not to mention, acting as if he were their PET!), and now he was on his way to Skye's house, humiliated with little pride to be shone. He didn't hate Skye or anything in that means but come on. This would be embarrassing for any Canis or Vixen. His thoughts were interupted when he heard a small Ping! He looked over and sure enough, there was Skye's house. Zeff's ears folded back as he waited on the others.

He was slightly confused at Skye’s nock, but he figured it was just what she did, threw a rock at the door and it let someone inside know she was coming with a wounded animal or something. But he just fallowed, up to the house as a tall man opened the door. He was taken aback for a second, the man was tall, had a dark tan, and had deep green eyes. He could tell he never wanted to do anything to anger him, and then it clicked that this was Skye’s dad, he never wanted to do anything to hurt Skye either. He fallowed behind Keiro into the house, glancing at the dog for a second, wondering how his snake bite was and if the vet would be able to help him.

Zeff followed Skye in and eventually the doctor until they reached a part of the room that was well particularly brighter than the rest of the house. Zeff's eyes wondered around the small room until the doctors voice pierced the silence. "Well, I can't exactly help you with anything until you shift back, now can I? Clothes are in the wardrobe; I hope at least something will fit." Zeff stared at the doctor until he the door was between them. Shift back! I thought this guy was some kind of vet! For animals!!! Zeff began to growl at himself for ever following Skye, her wuss of a friend, and that human! He was the reason he had to sneak out of the back door instead of just walk out! Zeff growled once more as he walked into the closet. Shifting back into his human form he sifted through the clothes given to him, trying some on or sometimes putting them up to his body, until he came across a t-shirt and some pants that seemed to fit just as good. Walking out of the closet and sitting down in one of the small chairs in the room he began to wait...

He looked around Skye’s house as he stepped through, the suddenly felt very intrusive. But she had been around his house, at least to help move things around, but he didn’t know if he should be snooping around her house, especially since he wasn’t really invited anywhere. He glanced back at her, ”Nice house….I thought you said you wouldn’t be in trouble if you didn’t go to school?” He smiled a little, hadn’t she said she had done that before, skipping school was no big deal? Didn’t seem her father liked it all too much.

Kayla

She was glad she skipped out of her last class, not that she went to it regularly anyway, it was a dumb class she wasn’t going to need in her lifetime anyway. She made it back to her house, dropping off her things in her room and hopped out the window. As was her usual routine, walk in through the house, drop bag, go out through window, shift by the tree and leave until sundown. Her sister would find her somewhere later, if she needed to be home sooner or not. When she got to the large Oak that was in her “back yard” she shifted to her wolf form, the light browns and red highlights making her look more like a huge fox. She ran straight, as her back yard was more like an open field, no one fenced in their yards, was too much a hassle to get around that way. She wasn’t sure where she was going to go, but there was a new smell in the air that she had to check out and headed right for it.
