Letter bird suddenly landed before Kaleri, setting his mail bag down. "Weather is nice for once, isn't it?" He asked. He had arrived from Janri, which was rather obvious if one noticed how covered in soot he was.

  1. Tldr; Business with Flumnawor, Early storms at Janri, Lb sick of being a sitting duck.

Even though he flew quickly, it took him two days to arrive to Flumnawor, mainly due to food breaks. He flew until he made it to a floating port, seemingly in the middle of the ocean. It bustled with activity, even if the minority were humans.

Floating ports were normally occupied by citizens of Flumnawor, placed to make business much more manageable for those of Hamnu and on rare occasion, Janri. Letter bird arrived at the largest mass of interconnected builings, entering though a tower at the center. A man with rather sparkly red hair sat at a desk at that tower, barely acknowloging him.

The man picked up an ore from the weight stand letter placed it on, studying it with a small glass. "How come you only have forty three pounds of Ore? The order required an even fifty."

"Well, the season started late, they didn't manage to mine or purify much in time to process the order in time. I came as soon as the Firestorms let up. I don't know if I'll be able to enter again anytime soon."

"I still need the order completed. You only receive partial payment," He said, writing it down. "International trade may be slow, but we aren't desperate."

"Slow? It seemed fine to me."

"We haven't processed many transactions from Hamnu. For once the mining settlements of Janri have managed to make a more notable contribution to Flumnawor economy. Its not a problem, but it is unusual."

"Well, that is my next stop, after I collect orders covered by the merchandise," He sighed, taking his nigh empty bag, save for the exchange form.
~~~
Letter grew more and more annoyed as he was unable to enter Janri again. The storms weren't to start for at least three more months, leading to a much more warm and pleasant Hamnu but a thick, problematic hellstorm for a small dragon like him. It make him regret his small size.
Unable to do anything, he decided to pay a visit to the girl who waited for travelers in a cave.
Astria heard the wind before it hit her. A strong gust usually found in the higher parts of air traffic blasted through the trees giving no warning. She yelped as the wind sent her tumbling through the air. She couldn't get her bearings as the wind shot her this way and that, taking her along with it.
She tried to tuck in her wings but it was useless as the wind kept blowing them open. So she waited, curling up to protect herself, until the wind was ready to let her go.
"Er, well, I'm fine, I haven't tried to enter Janri, mainly to protect my merchandise. It would actually be more helpful if you could end the firestorm," he said wistfully. "Say, what's the matter with flying under clouds? At least, normal ones, not firestorm clouds."
Lore relaxed slightly, as the figure did not seem hostile. In fact it looked like the puzzled man was only just beginning to notice her. In better times she would have retracted her control over the flora immediately and have apologized profusely, but the thought was completely foreign to her current mindset.
She let go of her hold of most of the plants, reverting them back to their previous state, but two or three remained poised at the stranger that had snuck up on her.
"Greetings. Excuse my paranoia, but the past few weeks have not been kind to me. May I inquire what you are doing here?"
The 'this close to me without announcing yourself' was left unsaid.
And for that matter, how had he managed that anyway? She might not be as connected to this forest as she was to the Eschelia Woods -the latter being more of an extension of her being-, but surely, she should have sensed him with the power granted to her of Life's domain? Was she truly that diminished outside of her territory?
Despite her inner turmoil at that realization, her expression remained calm, her silvergreen eyes trained on the wizard.
He had been quite a distance away from them, but Letter heard the conversation, flying over to the group of people who spoke of corruption. "Forgive me for eavesdropping, but I'd hate to be the useless bystander when things need to be done. Until the firestorm blows over I won't be able to finish my own work anyways, so I will try to help yours. I make deliveries, hence I'm very familiar with the land. I also have connections that can help finding special orders if need be. Just tell me what to bring back and I can have it in less than a week, if we're lucky, by tomorrow."
"I wouldn't know what we needed, and I would have to find my old village to find the path." giggling once more she looked at the others.
Astria was not in the habit of lying, though she knew they might be skeptical. Hearing about a part of the forest being in trouble was her motivation to help. After all it was her home as well.
"That's... Not a problem, just name the village, surely I can find it," he said, thrown off slightly from her incessant giggling.
Letter bird was starting to feel a slight itch of concern, mainly because he felt like the answers to his questions lead to more questions, and that, more often than not, meant he was being led on.
That was never alright, but he hoped he was wrong for the sake of the current predicament.
