Introduction
When any human born on the planet Kehlana hears the word Nasiria, they think of a vast desert of ruthless anthropomorphic people calling themselves Kehlans - the first to evolve on a desolate world covered by an endless ocean and a single continent known as Kargana. But think of humans as a Kehlan who was born in Nasiria, and you might see a cruel and oppressive people with a history of atrocities committed in the name of 'progress'. No matter which side you see, however, there are flaws both subtle and terrible. As the Nasirians fight among themselves to claim the seat of a long-forgotten empire, several human-dominant city-states have gathered along the border to proclaim a Crusade that could one day tear the already-loose fabric of Nasirian stability apart.
Now the bicentennial starfall, with its sparkling dust cascading out of the night sky like the tears of a thousand spirits, has brought with it the promise of a grave new era in Nasirian history: the Age of the Moon, of which the ancient caliph Nasir I predicted seven shadows enveloping the people - the beloved children of the godly Progenitors - in total darkness. In the hopes that they could face these future threats, the ten Ephors have set out to gather those they believe worthy to become Nasirian Knights and face the oncoming evil as the rightful successors to a group that had long since faded into history.
Here is where that journey begins.
This setting will be used in a number of semi-episodic plots. It begins without magic for twenty years, during which time both characters and the setting can be established in detail. At the start of the twentieth year, magic gradually makes a comeback, starting with the reappearance of supernatural creatures (from least magic-dependent to the most) and ending its first phase twenty-five years later. The second phase is marked by the appearance of magic in a useable form, starting with severe limitations that are slowly chipped away each year for a century until there are few obstacles to any powerful sorcery.
How each character adapts to this change is part of the theme. Aging and coming to terms with mortality is also supposed to play a significant role.
Brownie points awarded to those who are willing to create new generations of characters over time! With the advent of magic, lifespans can be extended for a character if so desired by the player.
Since I realize not every player will be so keen on working through this premise, I've decided to allow players the opportunity to skip to any point in the timeline for private RP. While the main group here will be primarily concerned with stories that take place in a linear, chronological order, players of any other groups may decide to work on a different era. Note that these 'private' players' RPs should be treated as alternate universes of the main, since events that occur among the main group could otherwise change or eliminate events already established in the private RP (creating discontinuity).

"Legend tells of a nomadic people called the Arlanni, who once ruled these lands. Then one day, a cruel warlord by the name of Qaderi conquered them. Now, a century later, the Qaderi reap what they sowed as the Valley is divided."

Re: Nasiria - Age of the Moon
I was on a little stroll when I found this little gem. You've got a great idea right here, and I'm surprised that you haven't attracted anybody. I would join, but my time constraints and other commitments keep me from doing so. So I'll just have to be an admirer instead of a participant. That said, maybe you could put up an advert in the Roleplayers Wanted forum, and maybe you'll get some more eyes.
Have a nice day.

Since I can't post links as of yet, potential players should look up the campaign on the main list. It provides an additional link to a more detailed lore guide for anyone interested.
