Necromancy is forbidden in Lumia but some don't care. In a small town a group of ordinary townspeople meet up to practice necromancy but sometimes it becomes too much for them.

Introduction

For centuries necromancy has been forbidden in Lumia. This is because the temple sees it as unnatural and evil. Ever since the defeat of the archlich Asamon by the temple's hero Eamon, necromancy is strictly forbidden and can be penalized with death. Yet this doesn't keep people from using necromancy. Just because it's forbidden it is attractive to some. In the small town of Trea a group of ordinary townspeople meet up regularly to practice necromancy. Mostly it is harmless stuff they do like communicating with the dead or resurrecting recently died housepets. But sometimes it becomes too much for them as it had backfired before. Luckily it didn't affect anyone outside of the circle and went unnoticed to the outside. But as the temple closes in, the group becomes more careful but also more ambitious with some stepping across borders to what may be bad and what not. It is now a thing of staying away from the temple, otherwise they would have to try to silence witnesses. There are rumors of an old necromancer retreat up on the mountain overlooking the town and it may be wise to do the usual activities there.

Lumia: Lumia is a mountainous kingdom on a large continent. It is nearly landlocked with only one port town. The most powerful classes in Lumia are the royals and the temple. Merchant also possess a substantial amount of power but it is unsure if it matches up to the power of the temple.

Races: There are three races in Lumia: The humans, the wolf folk and the anima.

Wolf folk: They are the smallest minority in the kingdom. The are generally a bit taller than humans and have the head of a wolf. They mostly live in the south in their own villages. Commonly wolf folk are craftsmen and merchants.

Anima: Anima are look nearly human except for animal like ears and tails. They are the second largest group in Lumia and mostly take up hunter and gatherer jobs but also many of them are agents of the temple.

Humans: Humans are the largest group and aren't really found in specific job fields and mainly can be found in any job. The royals are humans as well as many of the temple's higher officials.

Re: Necromancers

At least one more. But I am waiting for two friends to decide if they want to join or not.

Re: Necromancers

Hey! Thanks for accepting Grell, I was wondering how many more before we start, or could we start right now and hope that other people join.

Re: Necromancers

I see, my apologies, I am used to the definitions from DnD, and Necromancy is a very broad term that covers anything related to controlling life-forces in some non-divine manner.

Re: Necromancers

Rip out souls is death magic. Necromancy is mostly a summoning magic. Such as summon ghouls, the undead, demons et cetera. Death magic is allowed, however it should not be known from early on as it is difficult to master without it killing the caster. Hemomancy is actually blood magic which means that a blood sacrifice or even a living sacrifice must be made to cast certain spells.

Re: Necromancers

Hey! I was thinking about applying into this rp, but I got a question: Is Hemomancy considered a part of Necromancy? And if not, then what does the term necromancy cover? I am thinking of the whole "Make undead, rip out souls, wield raw death." sort of thing, but please, correct me if I am wrong!
