Waking up to the sound of the alarm she’d set on her phone the night before Akira stretched her arms above her head groggily. Laying back down in the bed, staring up at the ceiling Akira thought back to her activities the day before. Maybe it was rash to take Kaori to her favorite spot, one that Akira found a few weeks after moving from Britain, but they both were upset and it seemed like a good idea at the time. It was a place where they could sit and feel alone, together. If that made sense at all. Being able to see the people below, but they were so far out of reach that the two of them were all but invisible. What reason did the people down there have to look up?

While it seemed to have spooked the girl to follow her anywhere without knowing where she was going first, Kaori really seemed to enjoy it out on the roof once they got there. With no one to bother them they could just be, they didn’t have to put on a mask or worry about what others would think. They’d spent a long time out there just staring up at the stars, only leaving when the building was closing for the night. In spite of how their night was mostly in silence, it was very uplifting somehow. When the time came, Akira walked her classmate home, pretending to be a proper gentleman, seeing as Kaori and everyone on the streets were under the impression that she was male. As sad as it was to admit it, it was safer for not only Kaori, but also herself that the people left on the streets also assumed Akira was a boy. The streets were not a safe place for girls, she knew that much. So, push come to shove, Akira didn’t really mind that she had to go home on her own much later than that. Walking Kaori home, making sure she was safe was the priority, even though she lived in the opposite direction. It was a bit awkward taking her classmate home, even if Akira’s position as class president earned her a bit of credibility it didn’t make accidentally meeting Kaori’s father any easier. It was the first time she’d met someone’s parents since the hospital when....

Suffice to say, Akira was more than a little nervous, knowing that the girl’s father saw her as a boy that had kept his daughter out way too late...but at the same time she managed to remember her manners and bowed politely before offering her apology. Offering a kind smile and blushing from the nerves, she managed to somehow make a good impression despite knowing how it had to look. She was disguised as a boy, a boy from Kaori’s school and she’d brought his daughter home after dark. An apology was warranted, and she gave many more after her initial one, but her classmate’s father just seemed relieved that she wasn’t with the wrong sort. Her class president badge seemed to come in handy after all. It relaxed Akira quite a bit to know that she hadn’t already earned the ire of a classmate’s family, but she was confused by the smug grin that was plastered upon his face. Why did he look so happy to see that his daughter was out late with a boy? Did her father have a screw loose? Akira figured he would be furious, skeptical at the very least!

When she finally managed to part ways, Akira wasn’t all that worried. She was convinced that worst case scenario someone might have tried to mug her.... again. While she lived in a poor neighborhood she wore the Airdalen Academy uniform, the school uniform stood out to say the least in neighborhoods like that.

Whether she liked it or not, it was time to get up. No more reminiscing on the better half of her day. Bloody hell! It was colder than Akira expected, the ivory haired girl shivering when her bare foot met the wooden floor. Though she knew it would be a bit chilly, she realized she might need to bundle up a bit better than she originally intended. First Akira took a long shower, then she tried on the chest binder she’d finally coughed up money for over her modest chest. Running her hand over it, she was pleased with the results. Much better. Not nearly as noticeable as when Kazuki had accidentally discovered her secret. There was no knot, and her chest was perfectly flat now. The best part? The straps were thick enough to look like a tank top.

Throwing on an oversized shirt, Akira splashed her face with cold water before tiptoeing to the kitchen to begin making breakfast. Her grandmother was silent when she came in about fifteen minutes later as she was already reading the morning paper, much to Akira’s pleasure, ”I’m going out with a friend today...” Akira announced upon setting the table. She knew she would have to get around to telling her eventually, it was better to rip of the bandaid. Normally she spent her weekends home if she didn’t have work, but for once she was going out to hang out with a friend and it wasn’t a mandatory school event or a house party. The first time since she began living with her paternal grandmother, actually.

”A friend? Who? Is a boy?”

Tensing before she could steel herself to her grandmother’s probative gaze, Akira cursed herself under her breath. It was a boy, but it wasn’t like that! They were just friends, if anything he was more like a rival... it wasn’t anything like what she was thinking, ”He thinks I’m a guy. Don’t get your hopes up.” Akira mumbled under her breath, a faint blush dusting her cheeks without her noticing. For a moment it grew quiet between the two of them as they ate, but the silence wasn’t meant to last.

”When do I meet him? Don’t you understand how important it is to land a boyfriend while you still attend that school!?”

Akira choking on her juice, coughed several times, ”I told you, it isn’t like that! Never! You’re going to try to embarrass me!” Akira barely got the words out due to her coughing fit, wiping her mouth on a napkin once she composed herself. Glaring at her grandmother who was staring back with cold determination, Akira sighed. Was there even a point of arguing? Would she ever understand? Sometimes it felt like she was truly winning, chipping away at her spirit little by little. Eventually would there be nothing left? Would... would she eventually lose herself to her grandmother’s wishes? Bend to this image that the woman sitting across from her had of her? ...The thought definitely killed Akira’s appetite. Making her own choices... meant a lot, even if she wasn’t always known for making the best of them, ”I’ll handle the dishes when I get back. I’m gonna head out early.” Akira lowered her head before standing, pushing her chair in. The air in the house felt stifling.

Putting on her shoes, Akira went out to retrieve her basketball, running to the agreed upon basketball court. It was in the area, so she was familiar with it at least. It wasn’t until she arrived that she worried that Rhys might have to travel to get there, S-shoot. I didn’t even consider he might live pretty far away... I don’t actually know much about him. He spends a lot of time with Kitogawa-Senpai...” Though as her thoughts turned to their senpai, the female representative of the senior class, Akira couldn’t help but smile. There was a lot to admire even if she was prickly. Akira heard that she was the last one out when she helped students evacuate... how cool was that? Was she really not scared?

Dribbling the ball, Akira made a shot. She was a bit early, dressed in a red sweater, her loose white tee shirt, and a pair of black loose jeans secured with a tight belt, her red hightop converse a little worse for wear, but overall she was ready to play despite the chill.

⌠ Could you send someone here who will love me? ⌡

【JJ Heller - What Love Really Means】

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

"Sora, I was wondering.. we have been dating for a while now. How come you've never said the three words?"
"The three words?"
"Silly, the three words... I love you."
"I've read about it, I have the dictionary definition memorized but.. I don't know what love is, Yuu. I can't say that to you."

The maid Emi opened the windows to let the breeze in and tied the curtains to the sides for some sunlight. It was time for the young master of the house to wake up. Sora woke with his nose literally in the books, his cheek tickled by a page that had turned over. It was the weekends and usually, that meant he had nowhere to be. Only Airdalen was the place where he had to be responsible, a class president and a club president and keep on top of his grades for a secure future. He stayed up late studying and near to completion was the English assignment that Devone refused to work on with him. He appreciated Shiori's kind offer to share the load and it was not forgotten but she had an assignment of her own to consider. There wasn't enough time to wait for an opportune moment to work on it together. Sora had set aside the weekend to catch up on studies and if there was ample time afterwards, read some more for leisure or invest in his designing passion. However, life did not agree with such mundane plans. It had a plan of its own.

"Good morning, your father is attending a private luncheon at Maeda, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo. He expects you to attend in formal attire as you will be introduced to 30 of his closest and most esteemed friends. Afterwards, you may be left to your own devices. There will be no children in attendance so he requests that you bring a plus one, a female friend or girlfriend to keep you entertained for the rest of the afternoon and night. If you need anything or have further questions, he is contactable by phone as he has left early to check all is in order. Breakfast is served."

At the sound of the door closing and the maid departing to carry on with her other duties of the house, Sora lifted his head off his desk in a groggy state. His cyan hair stuck up in all directions as he slowly processed the day scheduled for him. The boy sighed as the luncheon was undoubtedly going to be a long and tedious event. His father by law must have known he would not have a good time as Sora mostly distracted himself with the children if there were any. Emi passed on the message that there would be no child present. It would be an adult event. Sora was not a good guest for adult events with a mouth like his thus a female companion was suggested. He picked up his pen and finished a sentence or two before starting his breakfast on the tray next to him. Sora sipped on his coffee to restart his senses and thought over his dream and his father's suggestion. There were services for problems like this weren't there? He traded his coffee for his phone and after browsing for a highly recommended service and a beauty to match, he dialled the number. "Good morning, my name is Harigae Sora. I apologize for the short notice but would you be available to attend a formal luncheon at Maeda, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, noon today? All expenses paid of course." What could possibly go wrong? It was just a girlfriend for hire.

It was a little chilly as the days neared Christmas but her shoulders trembled on their own. Church; a sanctuary to most was a beautiful nightmare to her as she walked down the aisle. The stained glass windows depicting the fourteen stations of the cross from Jesus' condemnation to his crucifixion and burial, illuminated the building in colors wonderfully but hauntingly. There was no one else present to her relief but the eyes of saints followed and judged her with their stony gaze. A kaleidoscope of memories overwhelmed her, many faces and names she longed to forget.. ‘The unwanted child, the cursed one, the bad omen.’ Her intricately shaped eyes were her cross to bear as they became glossy recalling her father’s lie that it was not her under shame but his sinful affair. She came as a humble believer in search of faith, answers and comfort but all she felt in its place was fear and intimidation, as if she were trespassing on someone else’s property. She did not feel welcome here but she had to come. She just had to. She was desperate.

Jeremiah 29:11
11 “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Gen thought over one of her favorite verses as she stared up and ahead at the altar. Hope and a future... She knelt down as tears started to form. God, if you're listening.. I find that hard to believe because I've been doomed since the beginning. I was an accident and a freak but I tried so hard to be normal, so hard to make myself worthy of something or mean something to someone. One of her hands wrapped around her throat as she shut her eyes tightly trying to hold back the tears and inevitable sniffling. Her emotions were pouring out while they could without witness. Why is that not good enough? Why am I not good enough? Why did I have to lose my voice..? Haven't I lost enough?! Inside she was yelling but any attempt she made to yell would only produce a frustrating lump in her throat and unnerving silence. Her other hand's nails scratched against the floorboards. My talent, my passions.. it was all I had. It kept me going. It made me, me. I was that puzzle piece that didn't belong but kept constantly pushing myself to fit.. Will I ever or was it all for nothing? Gen rubbed her eyes and waited. She wasn't sure what she was waiting for. A divine sign? A miracle perhaps? Her voice suddenly restored just as she wished? Her mind wandered and wondered how nice it would be if the churchgoers who disliked her showed up and had changed their ways. Alas, nothing happened but she did leave the building with her shoulders feeling a little lighter of the burden and a little braver for facing the fear.

She checked that her eyes weren't red or swollen then carried on with her morning to guide the movers and unpack at Tadashi's home and soon, her home as well. She only brought necessities and items of sentimental value. It was a difficult task communicating with the help without her voice but she managed with gestures and the occasional typing into her phone. The furniture was last and stayed in the back of the truck because they were the biggest to deal with and she wanted to confirm what was for keeps and what was to go with Tadashi first. Gen placed her hands on her hips and took a deep breath in. She trusted Tadashi but the rumors had already begun thanks to Sora about their living arrangement as a male and female staying together. Well, they were both young adults in their graduating year and it was too late to turn back now. Her hand slowly rose to touch where her throat was once more but it was only a short instance. She had already caused so much worry yesterday and so, she decided she would not have anymore breakdowns over it again and if need be, take up her concerns with a specialist.

Fuyuki found herself standing before Bishop's room. His grandmother had kindly given her permission to wake up her junior. Actually, it was also something she was looking forward to doing. The simple gesture of waking someone up, greet them a wonderful morning and then having breakfast with them. It has been a while since she did such morning rituals. Her family is quite the busy bunch so, they rarely see each other personally. They do talk or send messages through phones but that is all the communication she has with them nowadays. That is probably why she was staring at his door for a rather ridiculous long time. Her eyes appeared to be glazed over by the memory about doing this exact same thing before.

Image"Ohayou!" Fuyuki came bursting through the door without regard very much to what happens behind the door. It was at that point she saw clothes scattered about and a scent filled the room which she could only describe as disgusting. Her face that was bright like the sun slowly dimmed. She might be considered young but that does not apply to her comprehension. It was not hard to put the pieces together that even a child can read between the lines.

The exposed skin, the trail of sweat, hands roaming all around, and the eyes hazed with lust locked on Fuyuki. She was an unwanted guest that much she could tell. "Breakfast is ready!" Despite that, she kept her composure. After all, she can't let all of her training as the unperturbed young lady of the Hakuryu go all to waste. Well, this was also very much just about her own sense of sanity.

Fuyuki remembered that she still had her smile on as she exited the room with a skip in her step as if what she saw was nothing out of the norm. In fact, it was indeed normal. In the end, her house is quite stained. They just know how to make it appear beautiful though. It is their specialty.

The hand pressed against the door trembled a little bit. Fuyuki released a sigh as she returned to her current reality. "What would I get to see this time...?" Those words escaped her lips like a forgotten sigh as she forgoes with the knocking and opened the door. "Hello... B-kun?" She announced her intrusion as she saw her junior sprawled like a cloth hanging messily on a clothesline. The very sight did not fail to make her smile. It even made her giggle ever so lightly as she covered the sound with her hand. She did not want to wake him up prematurely. Instead, she quietly approached him and wondered if she should take pictures to commemorate this moment. Then again, she thought of something else.

ImageFuyuki made herself comfortable by laying beside Bishop. She stayed that way as she gazed at his face. It had been a long time since she saw the sleeping face of another. It was like waking up with someone beside her. It was really warm and ticklish, this feeling enveloping her but she would never tell. This would be another secret she needs to keep, all locked up.

"B-kun..." Fuyuki reached out her hand as she gently traced Bishop's face as if it was some marble statue. Although, this one statue has a funny expression and even drool coming from the corner of his mouth. There was nothing elegant about it but she liked it still. She would playfully tap on his nose and his mouth while he continued to sleep as if there was nothing wrong in the world.

"You are really unlucky to have me, B-kun." Fuyuki whispered helplessly. "But... please, let me be a bit more selfish, just a bit more." After saying that, she pinched Bishop's nose in order to stop his breathing. "Wake up sleepy head... Your scramble is waiting." She continued laying beside him. "Bishop..." She moved her face closer to his as she stopped pinching his nose. It would be bad to suffocate him. "Should I kiss you?"

When it came to moving, packing and organizing Tadashi had double duty. He had to prioritize the items in his spare bedroom, pack them up and move them. Whether that be into the new storage unit he purchased or moved into a new location into the home. The weekend was quick and busy, with Friday organizing, Saturday moving all the items that had to leave out of that room and Sunday moving Gen into the house. Fortunately his mentor had hired some movers to assist for the entire weekend. He did hate being a bother however. The biggest hurdle for him was what to do with his manga collection. 14 series in all, with over 300 books in total. A lot of heavy lifting, fortunately not by him. He did feel bad though. As much as he wanted to keep them around, the manga had to go into storage, it was for the best. Gen's room was cleared out for her to plan exactly what she wanted where. It was a long day and Tadashi ordered deliver for dinner that night.
Image

On Sunday, Gen went to church. He had actually forgotten that she was a religious person, it wasn't extremely common in Japan. At most, people were spiritual or some variant. Tadashi made sure to give her some space, all the while being a good host. But he had to remember that after today, he wasn't going to be a host anymore. They were going to be roommates now, things were going to change. He wasn't aware of the rumors that Gen knew of but he wasn't afraid of them for his sake. Mostly concerned for her sake, rumors around women could be really nasty. Rumors in general could be really nasty. Tadashi helped with what little he could, trying to help Gen out since she had been quieter than usual. Reading her body language though, he was concerned that it was something a bit more serious. She hadn't said a word since the incident with Kazuki. He was afraid in the back of his mind that his dear friend (Gen) had somehow lost her voice. The thought made him upset- angry even. Looking out the window seeing Gen silently direct the movers into the house he swallowed that feeling, touching his own throat. How cruel was it. When he was at his worst, all he had was his voice and it saved him. But his most sincere and dearest friend had her's taken from her. He felt utterly helpless.

For the rest of the day he'd be gentle with his presence around Gen. Not to baby her or feel sorry, quite the opposite. But pestering if she 'was alright' or 'needed anything' would be troublesome. He knew too well that when he was low on himself, he didn't like the same people pestering him over and over and over again if he needed anything. So for the time being, for the rest of the weekend he'd gently support Gen. Making her feel very much not alone in this new space.

At the end of the day, Tadashi would place a gift on her bed. It would be a light pink stuffed bunny, with a little sign; 'Welcome Home'. It was simple and small, but it was a genuine gesture. He'd place it there after dinner for her (Gen) to find. Little things made a difference. Gen was a strong person, he believed that and it hurt him so to see her in any type of pain. Hopefully it would be something nice to start her week off before school began again.

Aware that the sound of her pencil hitting the floor was loud enough to be a distraction in the nearly silent room, Shiori all but kicked herself. This year that was supposed to be her last chance at making a change was definitely playing out differently than all those that came before, but it was not going very smoothly and she wasn’t sure if the change was leading down a better path or not. It was still so unclear, there was the entire year ahead. The pressure alongside whatever was going on with her lately, it felt like she would be spending the entirety of the year on her dancing on her toes. It was an intricate dance trying to fit in with these people she struggled to relate to in even the simplest of ways.

Quickly bending down to pick up her pencil, her long ebony hair shifted with her movements like silk, Shiori failed in many areas of basic living but she took meticulous care of her hair. Pull it together! She scolded herself, taking a slow breath in while her face was hidden from her clubmates. An attempt to reign in the mess of emotion that she was failing to sort out. It helped, a little, but her cheeks were still rather hot. Glancing out of the corner of her eye as she straightened herself back up in her seat, Shiori confirmed that eyes were in fact on her due to her blunder.

”Kitogawa-senpai, do you need a breather?"

Opening her mouth to quickly say no, her lips paused, the dark haired senior lowering her head a bit, her gaze falling on her lap. Why was this happening all of the time lately? She once prided herself for her ability to handle things, but it seemed that the when she fought her instinct to respond coldly toward others she wasn’t all that great at handling anything at all. It was Misaki’s fault for putting those indecent thoughts in her head. Yet she couldn’t blame the other girl for her brain lingering on them. What difference did it make if there was any substance to what the other girl said about Sora and Rhys? Shoot. I never said anything back... Lifting her gaze to land on her junior, Shiori tried again, ”I...” she trailed off, unsure of what she actually needed. Maybe stepping out to gather her senses wasn’t a bad idea? It seemed she was stepping away from situations a lot this week though, what kind of impression was that making? What kind of person was she painting herself as to everyone around her? She couldn’t help but wonder if her attempt to make the year mean something might backfire on her horribly. Before she could make her decision, Sora spoke up.

”Could it be you are stressed Kitogawa-san? Studies can be quite stressful and still, you offered to assist with Kim-san's half. Be sure you are not pushing yourself."

”It’s not that. I actually enjoy studying.” Shiori reaffirmed, shaking her head slowly. That was one truth at least. Classes did calm her. Assignments were reliable. They all had an answer and finding them wasn’t difficult if you knew where to look. Making sure that Sora knew she did not intend to back out of what she’d agreed to do, Shiori met his gaze despite how much she would have preferred to keep her head down. By that point her blush had faded considerably, and her violet eyes were fixed on him with conviction. The homework would be no big deal, time consuming, but totally doable and a pleasant distraction from her goal while at the same time possibly earning her a few more points with Devone at the very least.

If she went back on her own suggestion all she would achieve is making sure that Sora, Ryou, and Devone all would consider her unreliable. Devone’s half of the work was
doubling her responsibility for the assignment, but she still felt victorious. She managed to help end a conflict this time around. No one was hurt and she could actually claim credit for it. While it was breaking a rule to do someone else’s work, she considered it to be a lot better than letting the potential violence play out. Perhaps it truly was easier to choose the lesser of evils in certain cases. Huh... She hated to admit it, but maybe there was a little bit of merit in her fellow senior’s approach to handling the situation in the gym. As much as Shiori hated gossip, maybe that girl (Fuyuki) knew something she did not when it came to managing people. Shiori didn’t like her methods, but her own handling of the incident in the classroom made it easier to consider the other girl’s thought process, if only a little bit.

”Browning-san, instead of a breather she needs a kiss."

Eyes widening in shock, Shiori’s brain temporarily short circuited at the notion. Considering her issues with intimacy and physical contact she had never been kissed, so her fellow senior’s suggestion was ludicrous to her, how would a kiss help her to relax!? Bringing her fist to her lips to clip off the rude insult that nearly escaped her lips, Shiori’s eyes simply narrowed a bit. Was he making fun of her because of their misunderstanding? Her words at that time were not meant for him... and thinking back Sora wasn’t known for malicious behavior... no. This was not that. What was he thi- right... THAT he was known for. Saying ridiculous things without thinking. She could feel the heat returning to her cheeks with a vengeance, ”I-I sincerely doubt that it would have that effect....” Shiori tried to respond in a controlled tone, but it was shaking and there was just a dash of venom. Being put on the spot like that!? Why did he have to put that image in her head? Standing up, Shiori bowed quickly, ”I-I think I’ll be taking that break after all.” She announced quietly to the group before stepping away.

"Fujioka-san can attest that it is effective."

She heard it as she was walking away, surprised. She saw the girl as someone similar to her in some ways, but Sora revealing that information floored her. Apparently... not? There was no way that Shiori would have been able to do something like that her freshman year. There were more differences than she originally thought. The freshman class president seemed to actually have it all. She was the president of the study club... so she was incredibly studious and she was already romantically involved with someone within the first week of school? As she stepped out of the library Shiori ran her hands through her hair. Being the way that she was, being at a disadvantage from the start, it was so frustrating. She felt defeated before she even began. Leaning back against the wall with her head tilted back she couldn’t help thinking about the first and last time a boy had come close to kissing her. She had no idea that he had feelings for her back then... and even now she couldn’t return them.

Even when it happened she hadn’t blushed like this, what was different now? Why couldn’t she stop thinking about Sora’s suggestion, about a kiss with her junior!? I’ve officially lost my mind... Shiori groaned, thumping her head back against the wall in frustration. She couldn’t let him find out she was having these thoughts. The dance... it didn’t mean anything for him. She was his senior partner, nothing more than that. If there had been more notice he likely would have preferred to go with someone else.

New Day

At the sound of her alarm, Shiori’s eyes darted open, and she sat up shaking her head. Wasn’t sleep supposed to be an escape from reality? Why in the world was she reliving the events from the day before in her dream? Her change of clothes were sitting out for her with a note that Kazuhiko was out fulfilling errands. They’d only recently moved into the apartment, there was still a lot that needed to be bought and installed. She didn’t know much about that, but got dressed. She had her own shopping to do and the fact that it was the weekend was mildly reassuring. No classmates until monday. Well... except one perhaps.

Walking through her apartment and slipping on a pair of shoes, she locked up, heading toward the shopping center after waving down a taxi. She had shopping to do one way or another, the only thing that was dependent on this call was the outcome. Crossing her legs she stared at her phone and psyched herself up for what she was about to do. Logging on to her social media account she’d only made previously in the week, Shiori located the account belonging to one Kazuki Miyamoto. A sense of dread washed over her as Shiori did something she never thought she’d do. She called him over messenger. It wasn’t like the school event left her much choice. She’d never shared a full sentence with the school hellion. How would she ever shop for someone like that without his assistance? They were as different as day and night. Whether he even recognized her name as one of his classmates, let alone as the class president was to be determined. She doubted that he even knew who she was, which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. She wasn’t anything like his garden variety interest, but she did not envy those girls either. They either saw themselves as disposable or didn’t mind being seen as such at the very least, and that kind of self view wasn’t healthy. Shiori firmly believed that everyone had worth. Even a troublemaker like Miyamoto, which she begrudgingly admitted, even to herself. She’d never say it aloud though.

It was better to just get this over with anr ask to meet up right? Let him show her what he wanted and be done with it? Wash their hands of each other. Ask him what he wanted for this Kris Kringle arrangement and if he could tag along long enough to procure it. If he didn’t answer she could always simply decide without him and if he didn’t like his gift it would be no fault of her own.

After all, she was the one extending an olive branch of sorts despite disliking his type, even if it was only a temporary truce for the holidays. Christmas celebration... someone like that deserved a chance at a thoughtful gift as much as anyone else, right? Thinking hard as the phone rang awkwardly in her ear, the sound of the messenger’s ringer a bit irritating at best, Shiori realized that her own reputation amongst their peers hadn’t been that great either. Perhaps she should keep an open mind if he agreed to go? Maybe he wasn’t all that he appeared to be either? Well, she figured she would find out soon enough if he answered and decided to agree. Her nerves gathering in her throat with each trill.

The morning was quite uneventful, or perhaps it was the fact that the study group the evening before had been quite a bit more exciting than she could have ever anticipated. The club president, Fujioka, Yuuki even apologized for everyone’s behaviors, but all in all, Haruhi found the whole experience rather enjoyable. What was there to apologize for? With help, she managed to get her portion of the assignment done. It wasn’t going to earn her the best grade, but it was pulling her own weight. She didn’t want to pull Kitogawa-chan down. It helped that the group of students in the club were not the stiff, stuck up bookish types she has expected of such a club. Kitogawa-chan was there as well, and she managed to see a cuter side of her thanks to the male senior class representative. Sipping her freshly brewed tea, Haruhi sighed. Calls. Why wasn’t she getting any? Was it a slow weekend? Were people relaxing at home instead of attending events? Did everyone forget it that today is a Saturday?

Looking over to Alexei, shoot, Yuuto, as he drank his own tea she was reminded why this job was so important. It was difficult to remind herself to call him by his legal name. His Japanese name. Just looking at Yuuto it was clear to see he was due for another treatment. Their parents had given up on him, unable to afford to send Haruhi to Airdalen if they continued paying to keep their ill son alive. There wasn’t a cure in sight aside from a very risky surgery. The son they once cherished they now saw as a liability, the love they felt ran dry and the well was now filled with bitterness. He was expensive, it wasn’t easy to love him anymore, and there was no guarantee that money invested in keeping him alive would pan out. The doctors really had no other alternative for them. Either they submit to the disease that was keeping her younger brother so weak or they gamble with the time he had left by accepting the surgery. They didn’t know what to do. It was frustrating knowing his chance of dying on the table was so high. And for over a year, Haruhi had taken on the cost to treat Yuuto as well as saving up the remaining profit for his surgery. After finishing her tea she began washing her mug when Yuuto took a coughing fit. Rushing over and patting him on the back Haruhi dropped the mug shattering it, “Alexei, are you alright?” She spoke in their mother tongue, not even thinking. There were a billion of these small cracks when her brother was concerned. At school, Haruhi, Valeriya, didn’t make these mistakes, but he was her Achilles heel. When it came to Yuuto, all bets were off, he made Haruhi crazy, reckless.

“O-rin. I’m -cough- fine. I’m okay.” He smiled weakly. How could someone with such a bleak and uncertain future smile so gently and with such warmth? It melted her heart every single time. Kissing his forehead before pressing her own to his, Haruhi forced a smile to her own lips, “I’ll take care of you. Always. You know that, right? We’re in this together. I won’t abandon you...” she spoke in a shaken whisper. The responsibility she was taking on was enormous, but she simply couldn’t put blinders on as her younger brother withered away. They could do something but instead of taking a gamble on a son that wasn’t certain to live, her parents were all in on the future of their healthy child. Haruhi was angry of course, sending her to Airdalen was an unnecessary extravagance. Any high school would do! Then the moment she had been waiting for occurred. A call on her burner phone. Scrambling into the next room quickly for privacy, Haruhi answered as soon as she could.

"Good morning, my name is Harigae Sora. I apologize for the short notice but would you be available to attend a formal luncheon at Maeda, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, noon today? All expenses paid of course."

Almost certain she had heard that name somewhere before, Haruhi was skeptical to accept the request, brushing hair out of her face and straightening her posture as the male on the other end of the line explained the job. Declining this client was out of the question though. Haruhi didn’t have the luxury of being choosy with her clients. Yuuto’s treatments depended solely on her successfully accepting work without fuss, “It is no problem at all. It would be my honor to attend. I shall meet you there, just outside. Just look for the girl with a heart-shaped purse.” She replied sweetly. Her business voice was sickening, but it was part of the job. She had to sell herself as the perfect girlfriend, and she could do that to ensure her brother’s health. There was very little that she wouldn’t do. This job wasn’t that bad. It was relatively safe. There was always a background check on the callers, she simply had to report them to the agency as she prepared and they would handle it, texting her to let her know to back out if there was a problem or letting her know that things were all clear. If a client misbehaved doing something she didn’t appreciate she could report that as well and they would be barred from ever using the service again. It was rarely abused because it only hurt the girl’s reputation as a girlfriend-for-hire if it became a pattern. Their success in this industry depended on happy, reoccurring customers. Being difficult and lying didn’t pay.

After getting dressed, Haruhi did a twirl in the kitchen and Yuuto shot her a thumbs up, but his smile was wary. He never approved of her going out like this. He didn’t trust the guys. Some of them were as old as twenty-one, and that bothered him. They weren’t allowed to actually do anything to his sister, but he didn’t trust people to obey common decency and social standards. Verbal and written agreements to follow a code of conduct only kept honest men to their word. The questionable kind would surely face consequences, but by then the damage has already been done.

“You don’t have to do this...” He spoke up, unable to keep his mouth shut. This was a common discussion between the siblings, but he wouldn’t stop trying to talk her out of it. It was his responsibility as a brother to worry about his sister. Even if she was the eldest and he was physically frail, he felt that nagging sense of duty. He still wanted to protect her, as laughable as that probably was given his state of health.

“Yes I do.” She stated flatly, leaving no room for argument, blinking when her heel split broken glass beneath it. The loud crunch reminding her of the mug she’d broken. Bending down to collect the larger pieces, she carefully discarded them, but cut her right index finger on an especially temperamental shard. The sight of blood made her retrieve a bandaid, a pout forming on her lips. Sliding off his stool, Yuuto retrieved the broom and dustpan, putting a hand on his sister’s shoulder, “I have it. You’re going to be late.” He sighed, hating every word. He didn’t want her to go, but he knew she would with or without his permission. It was best not to keep the client waiting. He didn’t want to be the cause of the mystery guy potentially treating her poorly.

Haruhi arrived a bit early, just to get a feel of the location, standing outside as she agreed. Wearing a white faux fur coat over her dress for warmth as the dress offered very little, she kept her eyes on her phone ignoring the men passing by eyeballing her or that tried to pick her up. Today she was taken, and she told them all as such, “I’m waiting on my boyfriend.” They each had their own response, some were respectful and apologetic, some scurried off embarrassed, and others rudely pressed on. For the stubborn ones, she offered them a harsh glare that promised she wouldn’t tolerate their shit. Despite her friendly demeanor, Haruhi knew how to handle herself well enough. She wasn’t defenseless, she had more than a little fight in her and that was usually enough to send creeps packing. At least I only have to deal with these creeps until the guy arrives... I have a bad feeling about this... where have I heard his name before...? Haruhi kept asking herself. Succumbing to curiosity, she went on a full deep dive into the identity of her 'date', searching his name on every platform available to her. She wasn't known for her ability to smother her curiosity for long. It was a wonder she made it as long as she had before trying to figure out who this guy was and why there was a sinking feeling in her gut. Why did she have to be so terrible with names...?! Harigae, Sora... how did she know him? The name wasn't overly familiar but the connection was on the tip of her tongue.

I’m tired. Rocco thought, laying flat on his back and rubbing his eyes. He couldn't sleep straight that night. He kept dreaming.

"I heard she's not even human... Do they plant Artificial intelligence Robots in the lower class as a social experiment?"
"What are you doing by yourself class prez?"
"I did not come here to make friends, so I do not have the type of relationship required for such a thing."
“We’re all here for one reason or another.”"I'm a junior too so let's get along. We'll be seeing plenty of each other."

"Who do you think you are?!"
“She's the class prez of course."“I suggest you do as she says."

“You're making me look bad, Prez."
"Then prove me right about you and let him go."

"You do it too...""Not exactly the same, I admit...but I think...
“For a smart cookie, you're really dense. Let's go visit him on the weekend and see a movie for crying out loud. Stop pretending and living under a rock.”

"It will look bad on me if you fall over, don't feel special."
"I'm not special, right?"
"I'm not special, right?"
...

They weren’t just mere dreams though. They were memories that made him restless. His head was exploding full of these memories that didn’t belong. The dorky girl with short violet hair and eyes of gold passed through his mind over and over. This isn’t fun anymore. He groaned as he sat up on the edge of his bed and combed his fingers through his messy bed hair. He wasn't dumb enough to think that the day would go smoothly after he told off the blonde senior (Aeon) whom she seemed to hold a lot of respect for. I couldn't shut my mouth though. I didn't escort the girls out of a building just for people to go all the way back. I was feeling sick as a result. Who in their right mind would? He looked over at his phone sitting on the bedside table. Yuuki had his number but he didn't have hers. She refused to give it and the fire alarm didn't leave room to push for it more. He raised his wrist where Kaori wrote her number that still hadn't faded. The number was already entered into his phone and if he was going out with Yuuki, keeping another girl's number there wasn't going to be a good first impression with the parents. Rocco went over to the bathroom, brushed his teeth and washed the ink off his wrist thoroughly. He stared at the mirror for a good long 10 minutes wondering if that text or call from Yuuki was ever going to come. Maybe she'd change her mind and he couldn't blame her. He wasn't the type of guy you brought home to meet the parents. More fitting for that description would be the senior prick (Aeon). He washed his face to distract himself from useless thoughts. For now, he'd have to sit tight and be patient. If they really were going today, he needed to pack a bag for the trip and decide what to wear. He didn't care about clothes normally but a girl's parents would care.

More time passed and the clock ticked away. Rocco sat on the edge of his bed with the packed bag by his side. He bounced a leg up and down and looked around his room in case he had forgotten something. He sucked at waiting. The phone rang and he almost dropped it as he quickly picked up. It turned out to be someone else. "Murray, are you down for a mixer tonight? We just need one more guy. C'mon man." Rocco sighed. "Murray? You there?" Rocco hung up the call without a word, dropped the phone back on his bedside table and fell back on his bed. Why does she have to be so difficult? There was a long silence and he couldn't stand it. It wasn't like him to sit around and wait for a girl to contact him but there was no other way. He resorted to studying to keep busy, clearing his desk and dropping the school notebook he owned with nothing inside it. There was that nuisance of an assignment he had gotten yesterday about writing 100 Japanese/English phrases for tourists. His assignment partner (Kaito) was dead weight but Kei and Tsukiko were who he was choosing to work with. He wasn't going to be dead weight to them. "Basic greetings would be useful..."

Japanese: Ohayou Gozaimasu (おはようございます)
English: Good Morning
Japanese: Konnichiwa (こんにちは)
English: Hello
Japanese: Konbanwa (こんばんは)
English: Good Evening
Japanese: Oyasuminasai (おやすみなさい)
English: Good Night

He stopped writing after Good Night and laughed. "I wonder if her mother put the cot in her room. Way to go, Grumpy (Kei)."

Image"Hello, I am Hakuryu Fuyuki. It is nice to meet you, Kazuki-san."

This was really funny. That is what Kazuki was thinking as the water fell on his skin. He wanted to forget but memories just kept popping up like some annoying advertisement. But, he finally understood why people romanticized their pasts. He was doing the exact same thing. People do that when the present was something they never like. The future is uncertain so no sense in thinking about it. The past is comforting. It is a sanctuary for fools like him.

"I like reading novels. They are the cheapest way to see the world."

It was an obsession now that Kazuki began to see his memories as if they were glass. His every action and decision despite how insignificant it seemed at first were all related to her. She was always part of him. He might have added a few details to make it a sign of his resistance, a sign of rebellion. Unconsciously, he was trying his best not to be dependent on her. Especially, when she just left like that. But... He couldn't. It was rather remarkable.

"How easy. Just by seeing her. How easy is it for her to break me into pieces and then put me back together."

ImageIt was really not Kazuki's day. That is because he did not get his amnesia scenario while taking a shower. The opposite happened. His thoughts were getting more clear with every second that ticks. The headaches are subsiding but the clear mind thing was not working for him right now. He was beginning to think that he should have never left the bed and let himself be drowned in the darkness of sleep. At this point, he was cursing Keiki for waking him up.

"They call me the freak of the fall..."

Kazuki, who was in the process of getting some clothes on, looked at his phone. It was ringing and he has half the mind to just ignore it. He really did not want to hang out with his so-called type of people. Normal people would call someone and have them comfort them, be it, friends or family. But, he was not like that. It was because he just found out that he has no one he could call. Even if his contact list has a lot of names in it or he has a lot of friends and followers in his social media. It meant nothing. He does not have real friends. As for family, that one uncle would probably just beat him up all over and say to study.

"So pathetic." Kazuki sneered at himself. "You are a loser, Miyamoto Kazuki." A mocking laughter followed as he ignored the call from his phone. He continued prepping himself and when done, casually took another glance at his phone. It was still ringing. It would not hurt him to know who was disturbing him so early in the day. "Kitogawa, Shiori?" That sounded like a girl's name. He wondered if he promised some chick an early romp or the likes. Well, it could also be like a call that he was going to be a father or something. Usually, those reasons would make anyone not answer especially him. But, he needed a distraction, a physical exercise of the likes or even taking responsibility for a shoddy clean-up works for him. He grabbed the phone and answered it just before the call drops out.

"Yeah? Kaz here." Kazuki answered as he exited his room. He had no idea that the one calling him was a fellow Airdalen student, a classmate, and the Senior Class' President. In his understanding, it was just some girl she picked up somewhere. "Where do we meet?"

“It is no problem at all. It would be my honor to attend. I shall meet you there, just outside. Just look for the girl with a heart-shaped purse.”

Sora blinked at how easy and convenient the service was. He had no experience hiring a girlfriend before and called practically on a whim at the risk of boring himself to death at the party on his lonesome or giving his guardian a headache. With his quirky personality, finding a willing companion was not usually easy and convenient so it was like the service was tailored to meet the needs of someone like him. "Heart-shaped purse... very well. Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu." [translates: I’m counting on you/Please take care of me] He ended the call on that note and rummaged his wardrobe for fitting attire.

The cyan-haired boy was still delicate after all the school violence incidents but he was on the road to recovery as his bruises were not as red or dark as they were before. On the outside, he looked to be in perfect health although a touch would bring back the soreness. Sora lifted the small bell from his bedside and rang it twice, the maid returning to collect the dishes from his finished breakfast, prepare the bath and to assist the young master with his selected clothes. Sora continued afterwards to groom himself, tying up his hair in front of a mirror into the standard ponytail. He donned a white suit and because it was nearing Christmas and colder weather, a vest underneath that complemented his shirt and tie. Sora's passion for fashion made him put a little bit more care into his appearance than the average boy always not just on this occasion because it was a date, scrupulously checking for loose threads and lint, a spritz of cologne on his wrists and neck and fixing his hair once more. "I am ready. Prepare the car."

Sora's limousine stopped right in front of the location Maeda, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo to drop him off. He stepped out and pulled the edges of his suit blazer closer together feeling a slight chill but refused to button it up as it would hide the vest. He didn't dress up only to hide it. His cold, cyan eyes looked up at the restaurant sign confirming he was at the right place before they turned to search the entrance area for a female with a heart-shaped purse. Despite the situation he was in being a first for him, he wasn't nervous or excited. The senior's face was deadpan even as he found what he was looking for. The girl with the heart-shaped purse was there as promised but it wasn't until he was standing directly in front of her that he realized she was a fellow senior classmate.

"Morinozuka, Haruhi." His eyes finally displayed some emotion with a subtle flash of surprise as he identified her from study club the other day but his tone stayed neutral. This was an unexpected development but it was much too late to change or cancel. Sora had already informed his uncle during the car ride that he was bringing along a plus one to reassure him he would not cause too much trouble. He bowed his head as custom, then analyzed her from head to toe as part of his habits as an aspiring fashion designer and as a boy admiring his date. "I like your shoes." he said openly before returning his gaze to meet her eyes. "We will spend most of the time seated but there is a meet and greet prior to dinner. If your feet start to hurt at any time during, please let me know." Another boy of their age was eyeing Haruhi from across the street and Sora did not appreciate it. He sighed at the nuisance and gently placed his palm against her lower back to guide her inside the restaurant. "Let us talk more inside. It's quieter and I don't want to share your beauty with dirty eyes if I can help it." His neutral tone had a flicker of possessiveness near the end of his sentence. It was a paid service, not a real relationship but she was rightfully his. Once inside he asked, "Before we proceed, is there anything I should know?" There were surely rules for these services and he wanted to be fully informed. Haruhi might also have some questions or concerns of her own as they're not entirely strangers. They only had a few minutes to themselves before noon and the event starts. By that point, there was no going back.

Bishop was in a deep sleep. A wonderful sleep. The kind of sleep you can only get on a weekend after a rough week. He was oblivious to the world around him, not much different from a resting log. When Fuyuki quietly entered he remained unmoving, exposed in his current attire but not in any embarrassingly obscene way. As she approached, his senior would denote that he had one hand wrapped around a pillow. He was a snuggler it seemed. As she (Fuyuki) rested at his side, Bishop shifted from his side to his back, head tilting slightly on his pillow. He was the supreme example of comfort. He'd sigh into her caresses, the interaction not really enough to rouse him or disturb him much.

That was however until Fuyuki started to gently prod her junior. He'd squirm and shift his head when she tapped his nose, then mouth. Unable to hear what she was saying, Bishop was in a dream. A deep, wonderful dream; the kind that you didn't want to wake from.
__________________________________________________________
Looking out into a sea of people, Bishop raised his hands to a thunderous applause that could be heard in the next continent over. A unified cry of awe and admiration for Bishop Trander. The first 16 year old to win every Olympic swimming event and save the world from a nuclear sharknado. He was being given his 16th medal by none other than Yoko Littner. Everyone that h knew was there, every person that was mean to him in the past were holding up posters of admiration. Arietta & Devone were there, in matching outfits jealously watching as the red head anime beauty awarded Bishop with yet another accommodation from the Emperor of Japan and President of the United States. He looked to the side to see his mother and father weeping tears of joy and admiration. This was the perfect day. "Bishop..." Yoko stated to grab his attention. He turned to see the girl, with suddenly a beautiful sunset behind her as all of Japan cheered from Bishop.- Bishop mumbled in the real world as Fuyuki leaned in closer to her junior.- "Should I kiss you?" He heard through his dream, but Yoko said it as she closed in, that small charming way she did. "Yeah-" He'd say in his dream and barely mumbled out in the physical world where Fuyuki was. To make an amazing dream even better, Yoko kissed him as everyone cheered loudly; save for Arietta & Devone who were now openly sobbing and clinging to each other. Akira was wearing a Bishop t-shirt shouting loudly and cheering. "Kiss that girl mate~!!" Best. Dream Ever.

THAT'S WHEN HE WOKE UP
__________________________________________________________

Bishop first felt a warm presence that he pressed into. It was nice, slowly his eyes fluttered open to see Fuyuki directly. Whether their lips were in contact or not mattered not. His face flushed a deep fire truck red as he body tensed. "F-F-F-Fuyu-Senpai~?!" He tensed up as if he had seen a ghost, steam almost rising from his head as everything tried to process so quickly. He had magically forgotten as to where he was. He never had a girl in his room before, let alone in his bed. On top of him and-....... It was too much to think about!! Finding purchase with his hands he shot back and slammed his head against the head board- "Ah!" Making the blonde boy, grab his head and lay back into his bed. Opening one eye he realized THIS wasn't a dream at all. Fuyuki-Senpai was in his room, in his bed with him.... While he was only in his boxers! Why was this happening to him!?!

"G-Good. Morning, F-Fuyu-senpai." He tried to save face but it was too late, he knew she enjoyed his reactions way too much. Suddenly getting self conscious, he grabbed his blanket to cover himself up some looking back to his senior (Fuyuki) still as red as a tomato, blushing heavily.

There were a few faces that did not belong in the study club, but Yuuki wasn’t one to complain if students intended to take a legitimate interest in academics. As long as they put in a solid effort she wouldn’t say much against a few temporary additions to the roster. Surprised when Sora approached her, Yuuki tilted her head a bit, putting her pencil down to give him her undivided attention. He was one of the few guys at this school that seemed to value his education seriously, so she wasn't expecting what came next, despite her previous experiences with him.

"I'd like to apologize for the late arrival of Browning-san, Kitogawa-san and I, as well as take full responsibility. I had to change into a dry set of uniform after jumping into the pool with Misaki and my pants zipper was stuck which lead to Browning--"

Cheeks beginning to heat up, Yuuki blinked several times at his explanation. What on Earth was he about to say? Jumping a little as her fellow junior grabbed the senior, Yuuki's golden eyes shifted between them. While they were in the same class, Yuuki did not know much about Browning, Rhys. All she knew was that her fellow class president implied he was perverted. Sora's story seemed to slightly corroborate it. It wasn't lost on Yuuki that he had an intimidating presence, glancing away for a moment, adjusting her glasses. The boys seemed to settle on their own so there was no reason to interfere. Besides, it was probably better for her mental health to not know how that sentence ended. Picking up her pencil again, Yuuki began writing once more, fully aware of Sora's presence beside her, but altogether choosing not to make a big deal of it, at least not outwardly.

"If everyone can eat without making a mess, I've brought some cake to share. Everyone remember to properly thank Browning-san. I hope you don't mind I've brought a tag along, Fujioka-san... I will take full responsibility for her."

Sweets were not particularly Yuuki's thing, so the violet-haired junior did not partake, not that she would fault the others. There was just something about super sugary things that did not sit right with her tastebuds. Perhaps it was all mental because sweets were not healthy seeing as she used to eat them just fine in her younger years, "I don't mind, anyone is welcome at any time as long as they work hard and do not cause problems for the club or it's members." Yuuki responded without hesitation, not all that concerned with those that were not official members.

As the state of Shiori's wellbeing was being investigated by both Sora and Rhys, Yuuki did not look up from her work. She trusted they could handle it, besides, the girl was still upright, it could not have been too serious if it was the sudden onset of illness. There was a very slim chance that anything life-threatening was going on, "If you feel sick Kitogawa-senpai you may go home early, health trumps everything... always." Her opinion was probably a bit more emotional than the violet-haired girl would like, she preferred to stonewall everyone, but it was difficult to keep everyone out when so many people knew how to climb.

"Browning-san, instead of a breather she needs a kiss. Fujioka-san can attest that it is effective."

Nearly dropping her own pencil this time, Yuuki's attention shot to Sora, blinking at him in disbelief. Why was he telling everyone something like that? It was extremely difficult to keep herself composed, but she reminded herself that she was not only the female freshman class representative, she was also the president of the school's study club. She had to bring order to the group, "...I don't believe that is a topic for the library, Senpai..." Yuuki pinched the bridge of her nose, her glasses askew as she tried to keep her patience. Rocco and Kei... now Sora... there were a lot of troubles the violet-haired freshman now had to sort through that she had never experienced before. Shiori took her leave, and to be honest, Yuuki felt tempted to do the same. It wasn't very professional to do so, so she simply cleared her throat adopting a no-nonsense expression, "I'm sure that we all have work to do. Does anyone need help?" She offered her assistance to get everyone back on the right track.

Image

Image The morning was an absolute dread. Yuuki barely managed to get any sleep knowing she had a big decision to make. Bail on visiting her parents, go alone or lean on Rocco. None of the felt ideal, but as Yuuki nibbled on some toast to settle her stomach, she knew she had to come to a decision that she would be able to live with. Rocco was not someone that she considered to be entirely reliable. While he protected her in the Kyudojo against another female student... there were a few incidents that made her question what kind of guy he truly was, both good and bad. He'd done several...relatively lewd... things to her in the short time they had known each other, yet he also put his own health at risk to make sure that Kaori and herself were safe. Running her free hand through her unkempt violet hair, Yuuki sighed, her indecision on her classmate killing her. Could she trust him enough to go on this trip with him alone? It was anyone's guess... but her father's health was not very great. Ugh. Finishing the toast, she cleared her glass of milk before cleaning dishes. She had a duffle bag to pack it seemed... she only hoped that she would not come to regret it. Heading into her bedroom, Yuuki grabbed just the absolute essentials she would need for this trip.

Frowning at the package that came in, she opened it already aware of what was inside. She needed only to see the damage. There were two outfits, one blue and one pink. Choosing to get the dress out of the way early on, Yuuki changed into the pink outfit her mother sent, shaking her head. Picking up her phone she sent a quick text to Rocco's number that he snuck into her phone without asking. The message sent notification immediately made her nervous, her hand coming up to her chest. Why was her chest tightening all of a sudden? This was a bad idea... but now he had her number anyway. It had already gone through. He'd see the message. Darn it. Now she had to own it. Switching his name in her phone to something more suiting, Yuuki tapped the device against her lips with a sense of dread.

If you're still going, I'll be at the station in roughly fifteen minutes. Let me know if you're in our out. - Yuuki

It was completely against her own fashion sense yet again, but she knew it would make her father happy. While she would have felt a thousand times more comfortable in her hoodies and jean shorts, Yuuki wanted to do everything in her power to make him happy, just in case. That was all it took for Yuuki to subject her to whatever was in store for her. Her stomach began to ache yet again, reminded that this would be her first time meeting a classmate outside of school since elementary. The dance was a mandatory school function, and costumes were hardly casual. The only thing she found mildly reassuring was the fact that Rocco had a girlfriend, yet she couldn't help wondering when the two decided to go out. Was it before or after the moment in the bathroom? Before his lunch date with Hakuryu-senpai? She knew that he still had no qualms pressing his knee up her skirt even with a girlfriend though... I feel really bad for Himewari-san... Yuuki sighed.

Heading out despite her better judgement, Yuuki adjusted the strap of her bag and her glasses. She received a few more looks on the street than she was comfortable with, but she ignored everyone around her as usual. It still came to her as easy as breathing, even if the same could not be said about her time at school. What was it about that place, about it's students that seemed to take a sledgehammer to all of her carefully built defenses? Once she made it to the station, Yuuki checked her phone, going ahead and paying for the tickets before he even got back with her despite her cold, serious text. Leaning against one of the pillars, Yuuki sat her bag beside her on the ground. She wasn't accustomed to not having any books in her posession to keep both her hands and mind occupied. The class president was standing there alone, like a fish out of water. It's for Father... It's for Father... It's for Father... It's for Father... she repeated like a mantra in attempt to steady her racing heart, hand returning to it wishing she could force it to relax. She knew she wasn't listening to Sora's advice about him at all and that made her feel guilty, but she was... truly nervous to see him? Was it because she figured he would begin his usual antics? Was that truly all it was? She still wasn't happy with how he handled the situation with Aeon... but if they were going to go on this trip, she had to shut everything out. She convinced herself of that, because if it was anything else, this was truly going to be an awkward trip. She couldn't afford to feel, well, anything. For him or anyone else for that matter. She didn't have that luxury.

Image"Good morning, B-kun." Fuyuki greeted Bishop with a small and warm smile. It was a stark contrast to her Junior who has a face resembling that of a very ripe tomato. Yet, the reaction was understandable. That is because she was sitting on his bed with a rather loose-fitting yukata as her clothes. Actually, the skin of her shoulders is exposed ever so seductively. This is done unconsciously of course.

"It is time for breakfast. Your scramble is waiting for you." Speaking in a tone as if everything is right in the world or more specifically in this actual moment. Fuyuki was calm as a daisy. It seemed the current situation never bothered her at all and from her actions, one would assume nothing extremely... awkward happened. Her acacia-colored eyes sparkled in its sweet innocence and a sprinkle of concern. Her lips frowned a bit.

"But, B-kun... Are you all right?" A dainty hand so refined and small reached out to Bishop as its fingertip delicately touched the center of his forehead. "You hurt your head there." Fuyuki's eyes gazed at him sadly. "That was my fault. I am sorry, B-kun." She paused a bit before continuing on. "I was sent here to wake you up and I wanted to as well. I want to be the first to greet you morning!"

Fuyuki slowly removed her fingertip on Bishop's forehead as it playfully yet gently moved to his nose and tapped it. "But, I caused you a problem it seems." Her finger moved once again as it stopped before his lips, never touching yet it was quite close. "Please forgive me. As for compensation, you can ask me for a wish and I'll grant it. I promise." That is when she finally took back her hand as it now lay beside her. "It seems you had a wonderful dream though. I hope I didn't interrupt much." She then slowly removed herself from his bed where she stood in all of her glory. Her long brown hair cascaded down her back like that of a silken waterfall. Her body was quite small and slim. The yukata wrapped around her frame like a gentle embrace. It made her silhouette enticing while her skin glowed with sunkissed white.

It is no wonder why Fuyuki is becoming popular at Airdalen despite being a new transfer student. She had been in school for only about a few days and she had gained quite the reputation among the student body. Not only does she have the looks, but she also has a charm that is not easily disregarded. Now seeing her in what people would say, natural state. She appears to have such a sacred presence, both divine yet warm. There is also a grace that resembles that of olden princesses. Then again, it does make sense, she is a relative of the Imperial Family and raised in such a manner. "Then again, if it is really a wonderful dream, we can make it real." She playfully placed her finger over her lips and smiled in a manner both innocent and mischievous.

Image"Anyway, shall we get going?" Fuyuki raised her hands as she decided to tie up her hair. It felt a bit hot so tying up her hair would be helpful in cooling down her body temperature. As she prepares her hair, it revealed that slender neck of hers and the softness of her hair as she did not need a comb to weave through it, just her fingers. "Oh, right. B-kun, you really are quite well-built." She noted in her usual casual manner. That statement clearly implied that she had seen his body way before he even covered it up with a blanket.

Honestly speaking, Fuyuki finds the entire scene funny. It took quite the willpower to stop her laughter from spilling. If she must say, Bishop's reaction was more like a girl. Normally, she should be the one who has a red face. But, she liked it this way. Being by her Junior's side was indeed fascinating and wonderful lull to her. "I bet that if you maintained or improved more that kind of body, you will certainly be more handsome in the future." She had a thoughtful look on her face as she imagined a scene in her head. It made her giggle ever so lightly as if it was the sound of bells. "I'm certain you'll break a lot of hearts. Hopefully, I won't be one of the girls who you would leave in tears, right?"

Fuyuki was finished with her hair as she smiled brightly at Bishop. "Well, I'm not just any girl after all. I am your Senior. So, shall I help you dress?" She looked around to find where Bishop keeps his clothes. "Oh, there is your dresser." She approached it without even waiting for his reply. "Let's find you something nice to wear for the day." She was not doing this to tease him. It was something she believed was routine since that is how it is for her every morning. The maids help her prepare for the day and all so she was doing the same for him. It was actually the reason why she has yet to really dressed out of her yukata. It was not because she was lazy or anything.

And without another word, Fuyuki opened the dresser and took out a boxer then showed it to Bishop. "Is this your favorite color, B-kun?" Now, whether a kiss happened or not? It is best to ask her. Just like that, it was indeed the start of a lively morning for both of them.

xxxx"What a beautiful day." Devone hummed as she walked leisurely through the gardens with a smile as sweet as honey. She did not frequently utilize the garden but it was there as part of her home and meticulously well taken care of. "This is lovely." She said as she raised her hand to gently touch the rose covered arbor. “Eve.” A male voice disturbed her moment of solitude with a nickname she hadn't heard in a long time. Long silver hair and amber eyes emerged from the other side of the same arbor. ”We both know you have no appreciation for nature.” His hand placed over hers on the rose. The suddenness of physical touch caused Devone to flinch, one of her fingertips pricked by a thorn. He saw her flinch and he saw the drop of blood but his grip on her hand didn’t waver. "And you have no appreciation for me." Devone remarked, her red eyes almost boiling like the blood in her veins as she glared up at him. ”Touche.” His hold on her hand slid down to her wrist. "Surely, you did not come solely to flirt so let’s skip the pleasantries. What do you want?" She asked, her tone switching from annoyed to sultry.

xxxxHe laughed the kind of laugh that sent chills down spines. ”Straight to the point and you know me so well. Why did we break up again?” Devone grew uncomfortable at the question as she attempted to wriggle her hand free but he refused to let her go. ”Don’t tell me you’re flustered.” He lifted her chin with his other hand so their eyes could meet. Devone stopped struggling as her energy was wasted. His hands were warm but his heart was cold. That used to be what she liked about him the most. "If we know each other so well, You should also know I really hate repeating myself… Tell me what you want before I make you go away." Devone threatened although he appeared to have the upper hand by the looks of things. ”I want what you stole from me. I know it was you.” He said angrily but without a pause or skipping a beat, he leaned in closer and stole a kiss. It was just like how their relationship used to be but Devone's feelings had changed. She bit his lip hard enough to make it bleed. He withdrew but didn’t wipe the blood off his mouth. Instead, he laughed again. "Well, well… every rose has thorns."

xxxxHe released Devone completely just as her right-hand men and his own men arrived in the gardens. Both groups had lost track of their masters and were equally surprised to see the two reunited after a sour break up. He turned his back to leave as their business was concluded. He was done for the day but not forever. “Adam, I hope you find your apple.”  Devone said as her riddled farewell. Isaac and Goro joined her sides and watched as their unexpected guests departed. “What did he want?” Isaac asked with curiosity as Goro kneeled down on one knee and attended to her finger that had been pricked. Devone was silent for a while, her eyes focused in the distance where the mystery man had disappeared. “He wanted what he can't have.” Her eyes narrowed as memories flooded her mind uncontrollably like a trauma. Little did he, Adam, her ex, Oshiro Hiro know he was standing right on top of it as part of Devone’s intended irony, under a patch of fake grass and a panel leading down some stairs with the prized possession kept in a vault.

"Good morning, B-kun." Bishop laid in bed with his mouth agape in shock. Fuyuki- was in his bed. A girl. In his room, in his bed alone. Wearing loose clothing and, siting REALLY close. His young teenage mind was doing somersaults trying to process everything, but his hormones knew exactly what to do which caused a natural- albeit extremely embarassing rection that Bishop all too quickly realized was happening. <Oh crap! No no no NO~! C-Calm down, just relax it's only my senpai. She's in my bed and-> While in his panicked state, the image of his senior was too close and too lvoely to ignore. How soft and easily she smiled towards him, the way the yukata hung off of her frames. Wait, was that one of his? She's wearing one of his older yukatas!? <This is bad! So bad, don't come any closer!> It was just then he barely caught what she had said before, because now she was poking his forehead. "That was my fault. I am sorry, B-kun. I was sent here to wake you up and I wanted to as well. I want to be the first to greet you morning!" That little snippet of information definitely grabbed his attention. <Those women-> In his mind, Bishop pictured his aunt, mother and grandmother all snickering evilly with grim expressions of over their faces. <They're evil, I know it.>

"Ah, d-don't be sorry Fuyuki-senpai." Bishop shifted to sit up and internally panicked, afraid that she would notice the embarrassing secret that had awakened along with Bishop this morning, exacerbated by ther pretty girl's presence in his bed. "I should, apologize. Freaking out like that makes it look like I'm afraid of you or something, hehe." Slowly Bishop adjusted his legs so his knees were propped up slightly, making things down below less noticeable. He easily smiled, trying to make light of any wrongdoing that Fuyuki may of done. He didn't want to offend her in any way really.

"But, I caused you a problem it seems." <N-n-n-n-nani!?> His face turned firetruck red when the senior's fingers danced along his lips, his brilliant blue eyes became wide and somewhat watery. There was a pulse and rush of blood through his body, unfortunately for the young boy the blood was rushing away from his brain. Making everything seem harder to comprehend. "Please forgive me. As for compensation, you can ask me for a wish and I'll grant it. I promise."

<A WHAT!?>

Somehow. Someway, Fuyuki was the kind of girl that got a real rise out of him. He was in shock, sparks were practically flying out of his head. IT WAS TOO EARLY FOR THIS!! "It seems you had a wonderful dream though. I hope I didn't interrupt much." Finally, some breathing room. Bishop took a breath when Fuyuki departed his bed and stood in her full glory in his room. She was definitely wearing one of his old yukata's. However, her junior's eyes were locked on her for the entire time. The senior girl getting the full effect she wanted when she spoke again. "Then again, if it is really a wonderful dream, we can make it real." His mouth fell agape and Bishop actually blacked out for a split second. This was too much, she was too much. His bed sheets twitched, snapping him back to reality and Bishop fully brought his knees up as to hide anything indecent from Fuyuki's observant eyes. "I-I er, uh... I- "Anyway, shall we get going?" It was almost as if she had shown him a glowing escape sign. He would take the quickest and most convenient method. "H-Hai Fuyu-sen-"

"Oh, right. B-kun, you really are quite well-built." "W-Wah? How could she reverse back so quickly? "I bet that if you maintained or improved more that kind of body, you will certainly be more handsome in the future." <W-What's with her suddenly saying things like that? Wait, how long was she laying next to me? Does- that she saw my-? When it was...... AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH~!!!!!!!> He clung tighter to his sheets now with watery eyes. How did this happen? This wasn't fair. He senpai was in bed with him and saw him almost naked. While trying to process this, Fuyuki kept thinking outloud missing all but the tail end. "So, shall I help you dress?" "N-Nani!? "Oh, there is your dresser. Let's find you something nice to wear for the day."

It was a blessing that Fuyuki couldn't read minds, because Bishop was screaming in his. Bishop moved to sit up but remembered a certain body part and opted to shift so that he was still covered by his blanket from the wait down. "F-Fuyu-senpai. You don't have-" "Is this your favorite color, B-kun?" What his senior pulled out was a pair of boxer briefs, neatly folded and clean. Now undone, with a nice bright teal blue color with grey stitching. "W-w-wait! Pulling out my underwear is a bit much senpai. N-not that I don't want your help-" Bishop was rapidly waving his hands back and forth in front of him in an attempt to appear non-conflicting. As he sat there, trapped Bishop was having a new embarrassing melt-down from his beautiful senpai's actions. He would have to think of something so she could leave without coming off as ungrateful or rude. "F-Fuyu-senpai. I-I don't want to keep you waiting for breakfast. Y-You should go an change and I'll meet you downstairs, hehe." He smiled wide with watery eyes hoping it would work. The last thing he needed was her trying to dress him, that'd be humiliating in several ways. He wasn't even thinking about the possibility of them kissing.

Once the movers had left, Gen headed into the kitchen and prepared Chamomile tea. A steaming cup of tea sounded like a nice comforting addition to the day. Tea was also soothing when she was ill and had a sore throat. Although it was questionable whether or not tea would be helpful with her current throat condition, it was still thought worth trying. She held the mug in both hands and gently blew the steam off the top, waiting for her drink to cool down. There was still a lot of work to be done and boxes to unpack but she would take delight in the much needed break while she can. The peaceful house was filled with the faint familiar sound of the piano as Gen switched her mug to pick out her finest set of china and placed it on a tray with the tea kettle. She carried the tray carefully to Tadashi's studio on the first floor of the apartment. Just like before, the last time she had frequented the studio, Tadashi's fingers glided over the keys delicately and she again paused at the doorway to observe the boy she used to know and how he had grown. Although she could see him sitting there right before her eyes, it was still a bit of a miracle that they had been reunited at all after all those years. Even more unimaginable was the circumstances that had led them to become not just friends, but roommates.

A hint of a smile graced her lips as she took a deep breath in and took a few quiet steps forward as to not disturb his playing, to place the tray on an available table surface. She resumed blowing the steam off the top of her now teacup as she silently admired her friend's musical talent and skill. Gen herself did not learn to play any instruments. Her best instrument was her voice and as that thought came to mind, she was a bit saddened but didn't let it get the better of her. Tadashi's music was wonderful and she only needed to get lost in it for a while. Her appearance was a little different today he would notice once he had finished his piece and was alerted of her presence in the room. Her hair was tied differently today as a bun instead of a braid, her ears were bare no longer displaying the copper hooped earrings after the fire incident that left her earlobe a little red and her eyes weren't as bright or striking as if the light had been taken from them. The girl in the room wearing a fitted white button-up shirt with a cute red bow tied around the collar and black dress suit pants was undoubtedly still Gen but not the same Gen.

Once Tadashi's eyes landed on her, she poured a cup of the tea she brewed and offered it to him. Her eyes then glanced at the piano keys as she sat down next to him, sharing the space of the piano stool. The piano stool wasn't the most spacious but she was comfortable around him so she sat quite close that their shoulders down to their arms touched as her knees knocked together and she continued to look down at the keys. Her voice was still missing so she couldn't express her gratitude or say anything in that current moment. All she could do was listen if Tadashi spoke, nod or shake her head in response. Gen's right hand hovered over the piano keys before slowly and gently gliding over them. Unlike Tadashi, she didn't know how to play the piano and she had never tried but she could read the notes. As a beginner, she would look up at the notes then down again at the keys. She attempted one sheet of music then looked at Tadashi for feedback. Regardless of what he said, she held onto his hand and squeezed it as her dull eyes gazed up at the ceiling searching for answers that weren't there.
