Seoul, South Korea
Jisoo and Taemin are about as different as can be- on the surface, at least: Jisoo is a popular and well-loved Kpop idol who looks soft and sweet, but is truly an asshole behind the scenes; Taemin is a recent but rapidly succeeding rookie who is puts off an air of polite stoicism but is hardly more than a pushover when it comes to real life people. xx
The two of them being the top selling artists in their company, they're suddenly pushed (mostly) unwillingly into a dual contract wherein the two singers will have to live together and create together to get more views. For the most part, it sounds like Hell on Earth to both of them. xx
Jisoo refuses to pull any punches, and Taemin seemingly lacks the ability to stand up for himself. Tension builds and builds and builds, but neither of them budge, and while their music proves to be a hit in the public eye, the reality of their relationship is more or less a wreck. xx
But then some people from both their pasts show up unexpectedly, and they start to learn things about the other they never would have known had they not been put together. And as secrets come to light, they slowly come to terms with the fact they aren't so different after all.

The proposition of making collaborative music with the person who inspired him to join the music business in the first place is very well the last thing Taemin would ever have imagined coming to him. He's only been making music 'professionally' for barely more than a year now- has only been popular for far less than that. Jisoo Kang, the literal God of the Korean music world, has no reason at all to want to work with someone as new to everything as Taemin is. And yet, here he is, a stack of paperwork in his hands, sitting at the end of probably the fanciest table he's ever seen in his life, his manager and a few other important-looking people sitting at the other end, patiently waiting for the person he all but worshipped as a teenager. xx
Of course, it would be a lot easier to sign the paperwork if Jisoo would actually show up, but Taemin is patient. Has to be. xx

I've been dreaming about meeting him for a good half of my life, so he'd pretty much have to be the world's biggest asshole to ruin this. He thinks to himself. He bides his time doodling little pictures of Jisoo's face in the margins of the paperwork, writing little snippets of his song lyrics beside them, wondering if the show that he's a fan will help to impress Jisoo at all. xx
The door opens. Jisoo walks in and starts to speak, and Taemin's first thought is: Shit, he is the world's biggest asshole. xx
Of course, it would be a lot easier to sign the paperwork if Jisoo would actually show up, but Taemin is patient. Has to be. xx

Jisoo tapped his foot in agitation as he sat in the black van his manager and stylist drove him around in. He looked outside the window to see them pulling up to the company building. As per usual there was a flock of fans sitting outside with adoring posters, waiting in hopes to see their favourite stars. Today was their lucky day.
“Ugh.” Jisoo groaned and leaned back against his seat. “Fans again?”
“Fans are kind of normal territory if you’re Korea’s top star. ‘Korea’s sweetheart’.” Snorted his manager, Kwon Eun-Bi, from the front seat. Jisoo rolled his eyes. “I know that, but that doesn’t mean I like it.” The van parked out front and instantly fans stood up screaming, running to the car wondering who it was. Bodyguards came from the company and made a path for him to get through.
“Time to face the sheep.” Jisoo said sardonically. Eun-Bi sighed and shook her head. “Don’t forget to put on your face.” Jisoo smirked, “I would never.”
You see, Jisoo had two “faces” if you will. One, his sweet, happy, beautiful Korea’s Sweetheart face. The face that everyone knew him by, the face his fans loved and cried for. Then of course was two; Jisoo’s true face. His lying, manipulative, attention-seeking asshole side known only by those sworn to secrecy of the company. He was sure most people wouldn’t be able to get away with such an attitude. But most people weren’t as successful as Jisoo.
The doors to the van opened up and Jisoo slid out with a cute smile on his face, bowing his head politely to the fans who began to go wild. He even threw in a wave or two. As soon as he stepped through the safety of the company doors, the facade dropped.
“C’mon.” He huffed. “I don’t want to be here all day.”
They went upstairs to the meeting room. The room in which he would be signing a contract to do a damn duet with a new singer he had barely heard of. Okay, maybe he had heard of him a little; but only enough to know his fame was fairly recent and he was fresh to the scene in comparison to himself. It had pissed Jisoo off to no end, but his manager assured him that he would be allowed to take a month long break after promotions and touring finished to do whatever he pleased. The prospect of that was enough to suffer through the duet.
Jisoo slammed the doors open with a huff, rolling his eyes at all the people at the table, the CEO looking right sheepish at the sight of Jisoo. Could he blame him? No. Jisoo knew he was a devil wearing human skin. Did he care? Also no.
“Let’s hurry this thing along. I have more important places to go, and people I would rather not be seeing.”

The fact that Taemin's more-or-less-childhood-hero very obviously does not want to be here right now, which presumably means he wants nothing to do with Taemin himself, would be enough to break his heart if he were in the space to allow it. But he's with the CEO of the company and a good few important people, including said childhood hero, so there's no way he's going to show he cares. And he shouldn't care, really, because Jisoo's just a person. It's not like Taemin knows him at all, it seems only right that his assumptions about the man's character are wrong. He should never judge by appearances. xx
So, instead of frowning or showing any disdain, like Nari definitely is, Taemin politely gestures toward the contract and sits in silence, smiling but not bothering to try and make conversation with Jisoo. After all, he did say he was in a hurry to go. xx
Jisoo signs the paperwork, scowling and looking incredibly inconvenienced. But before he can leave, the CEO starts talking, explaining the details of their contract- as if they both didn't read the damn thing themselves. He pushes that they aren't allowed to partake in recreational trugs, tobacco, or alcohol, to which Taemin swears he hears Jisoo scoff, and then repeats a tabloid story about another idol who apparently got caught with an escort and caused issues with the company. Taemin listens but doesn't really absorb the information; he's heard it all before, and doesn't have a desire to break rules. xx
"Also, as of tonight, Taemin will be moving into Jisoo's residence." Taemin snaps to attention. "Oh, sir, I'm sure that's not a necessary action, I'm perfectly fine in the dormitory I have-" "Nonsense! It will be a waste of time and money to force you to meet elsewhere every day to practice. If you live together, it will be far more convenient for everyone involved. No problems." xx
Taemin nods and risks a glance over at Jisoo. He immediately regrets it, because the man looks like he might flip his shit on the CEO at any moment. Oh God...I can't imagine how annoyed I'd be if I had some stranger forced into my house at random without my say. But it's the CEO...and he does have a point. "Well, I suppose we're roommates now, Jisoo-ssi?" xx

personality: A no-nonsense person who is really just relieved to have someone as calm and unproblematic as Taemin for a charge. He has complete control of Taemin's schedule because Tae himself is scatterbrained as hell and would forget all his engagements without someone constantly guiding him. He also takes responsibility for Taemin's general wellbeing - making sure he eats and sleeps - though it isn't technically a part of his job description.
(He also really dislikes Jisoo because of his attitude, and isn't afraid to say so out loud.)
