Image There's really not much to say about why you were selected for the trials. In fact, it was kind of like one of those 'picking names out of a hat' sort of deals. 100 people, ranging from young to old and male to female, were randomly selected to participate - rather against their will. However, only around 14 of the initial 100 were ones who had been chosen before the rest and, subsequently, given a three-month training period to prepare them for the dangerous environments and deadly opponents.

Most of them have banded together to form Ironclad; a Guild decided upon and created before actually entering the game world. Whereas others are travelling on their own path, determined that they can handle it alone. Some have outright disappeared without a trace...

Image

Image There are 100 levels in total; you start off on Level 1, and your main goal is to survive through 99 more before battling the Final Boss on Level 100. This is the only chance you will have to win back your freedom and emerge into the real world once more.

However, there is another little quirk to this game... You have a time limit. One year. If you fail to reach and defeat the final level, you will be stuck in the game world forever. If you die before you reach the final boss and before your time limit runs out, you will most definitely stay dead. No resurrection spells are available.

Whether you decide to tackle the challenges alone - which is, quite frankly, a very stupid idea - or you join a Guild, the end goal remains the same. Beat the game, return to your life, and never again take for advantage the freedom you have there. Cherish it.

Image

Image

Image In order to enter the game, your physical body is attached to a machine. You are strapped in by your arms, legs and torso, and a helmet is placed on your head. It's your only method of entrance to begin with. Once you complete the levels, the helmet will be safely removed, and you will go about as normal.

The environment you find yourself in is completely dependent on the levels. Some are towns, others are fields or forests or castles, etc. The general setting varies considerably, as do the foes, weather and level boss you will face. (Further information on each of the levels will be added to the OOC whenever necessary)

Overall, Oblivion is much like any open-world RPG. However, there are many real-life aspects tied into the game.

As previously suggested, the main way to retain health and energy within Oblivion is to consume potions. The two main potions would be health and stamina. Though there are many different levels (basic, regular and high), they are easy to craft or come by. As well as this, sigils/markings can be worn on your character which provide physical enhancements, such as speed, strength, health or stamina; but only one can be worn at any time.

You cannot consume food in the middle of a battle like most would. It would take too long; potions are small and easy to drink quickly, and give more energy/health.

The three classes available to the characters in this game are warrior, rogue and healer (not to be confused with a mage). Warriors deal in single-handed weaponry (with the option of a shield) and have the highest strength, rogues deal in dual weapons or archery and have the highest stamina/speed, healers deal in potions/enhancements/sigils and have the highest health/resistance. Like most RPGs, basically.

Once you have defeated the boss of a level, you may then teleport to and from this place at any time, meaning that you do not have to defeat the boss to be able to leave again.

You can place items of clothing or weapons on your character at any time without having to physically change into them, but you may only hold 30 items in your inventory at any given time.

Menus appear before your eyes; no one else can see this.

When you die in the game, all of the items (whether this is armour, potions, weapons, enhancements, food, etc.) and experience points you have collected will be left up for grabs. Anyone can access it if they come across it first.

Your character level is tied directly to the game level you are completing.

Villagers and such are NPCs.
