Physical Appearance
Beatrix stands at about 5' 6''(167cm), short for her country of origin, but in Japan, she feels stupendously average. She has a small build, being very thin and looking quite small. People tend to think this makes her weak, but that is far from the truth, she is much stronger than her small build shows. She is also extremely flexible and mobile, having a powerful waist that she can utilize to its fullest. She has short hair, she lets it out to about halfway down her neck in the back, while in the front she cuts it to make sure it's just above her eyes. Her hair is a beautiful brown, but in the darkness it can appear grayish. Her eyes are a deep, dark coffee brown that reveal nothing about her spirit in them.

Her skin is a soft, seashell, white, giving her face an appearance of fairness about it. most blemishes such as scars she healed using her powers, so her skin is free of them. However, she does have a few tattoos. One on her shoulder blade with the names of her departed children and their father, and one on her lower back that says "Never Forget" in Prussian.

Personality
The first and foremost quality of Beatrix' personality, is her deep seeded maternal instinct when it comes to her comrades. She sees them as her children, and tries to be their protector and guardian. She would give her life for them, if they are deserving of it. She tends to take younger monsters under her wing, if they are willing. She will still act motherly and protective of older monsters as well, but not to the same degree as she does to younger ones. This motherly attitude comes from having a horrid mother as a child, then being shown what it means to care. The broadness of this care, comes from losing her own children to hunters. She can be strict and stern, as well as passive to her "children"(she calls all those she cares for her children) whenever the need arises. It has been a long time since Beatrix lost her family, but she is still affected by it, the scars she received that day will never heal.

Beatrix is drawn to passion and spirit, she loves someone, human or monster, with a passion for something she can understand. When Beatrix gets fixated on someone's spirit, onto their passion, she has a hard time letting that person go, and she always makes her interest known. She fixates on people not out of lust or love, but more out of interest and respect. When Beatrix is mad, she can be terrifying, her eyes, filled with fire and lividness, but when she is happy, she can cheer up even the most depressed of monsters. She has a knack for remaining calm in most situations, unless you threaten her children, and this effect tends to bleed onto those around her. She doesn't enjoy killing, yet she doesn't dislike it either. She will kill without thought if need be, but she won't kill someone without some semblance of reason.

"Some say caring makes one weak, but I know for a fact, that caring can cause the greatest of feats to be had by anyone."

ImagePowers
Seductive Touch || If a weak-minded person that is not feeling any strong negative emotions(meaning not too afraid, or too angry, etc.) comes into contact with Beatrix' skin, they cannot resist her charm. They will follow her every command as long as it isn't too extreme(such as killing someone, acting far out of character, or hurting themselves), this makes them an easy target for a kiss.
Unholy Shield || Beatrix can create a powerful shield in front of her, the strength of it depends on her concentration, strength, and the size of the shield itself. A shield the size of a doorway could be nigh-impenetrable if she was full strength and was devoting her entire mind to it, whereas a shield the size of a house could be broken with a simple punch.
Darkened Regeneration || Beatrix gives her strength to another, regenerating them, while draining herself, or another body. If she uses enough of her own, or another's, strength, she can even regenerate severed limbs.

Likes
Young Monsters || "I absolutely love when I am surrounded by new monsters, something about how unfamiliar they are with it all, and how they more easily accept my help, I am older, I tend to know better."
Being Needed || "I cannot stand being useless or obsolete, as long as I am helping my fellow monsters, I am happy."
Passionate People || "The aura someone who is passionate about something gives off is unlike anything I have experienced in my 700 years of life. The spirit they exhibit is unlike anything it drives me crazy!"
Observing Humans || "Although I detest their kind as a whole, there is something so enthralling about some of the individuals of the weak species."

Dislikes
Being Useless, and Useless People || "If someone is not useful, then they have no right to live, either find a way to help your fellow kind, or find a purpose."
Disrespectful People || "People that do not respect their elders are trash, I have lived over 700 years, I have been through most of the mistakes these children are about to make."
Asian Hunters || "All those Asian Monster hunters remind me of the bitch that took away my family. I would love to drain every single one till they have fragile bones that I can then smash into bits before they die..."
Bad Parents || "If one brings a life into this world, it is their solemn duty to protect it, I could not protect my own children... and it sickens me when others have the ability, but do nothing!"

Strengths & Weaknesses
Perceptive || She doesn't have any ability of perception, she just can see things(mainly about others) quicker than the average monster. This aids in her primary combat style, which is mobility and firearms.
Calming || She has a tendency to be able to easily calm people down, it's part of her motherly demeanor.
Affected by Loss || Losing friends, especially those close to her affects Beatrix horribly, it reminds her of all she has lost, and brings to down.
Protective || In most situations this is not really a weakness, but in combat it is, she will do anything to protect her comrades, even sacrifice herself, as you could assume, she has been hurt many times by this.

History
Beatrix was born in Prussia, currently under the control of the Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem, better known as the Teutonic Order, in the 13th century, her mother, Valda(meaning power), was a powerful demon. Beatrix was never told who her father was, just that he was slain by a sect of the Teutonic Order that specialized in slaying monsters. These Knights believed themselves to be given power by God himself to slay unholy creatures. Hell wished it had the fury of a demon who lost its mate. Her mother never cared for her, she saw Beatrix as an impediment to her vengeance. She was harsh to her child, never acting like much of a mother, she fed her only as a necessity, and chastised her for every offense, even before Beatrix could walk and talk.

As soon as Beatrix could function in some minor way on her own, Valda immediately continued her quest. Beatrix followed, but if she ever lagged behind, her mother did not stop, she did not slow down , she did nothing to help her. Beatrix was cased aside by her mother when she was only two human years old, she could barely hunt and feed herself, yet she didn't hate her mother. She followed with such perseverance to show her mother her worth, to show Valda that she was a daughter to be proud of. She watched as her mother tore the hearts, literally, from dozens of the Knights involved in Beatrix' father's murder. She slaughtered these knights with extreme prejudice, killing anyone that got in the way, including innocent civilians. Beatrix was young, and impressionable, so she thought this was how she was suppose to deal with humans. She followed her mother on her quest for another two years, throughout the Baltic area, wherever Valda could find the Teutonic monster hunters, she would go there, and kill them. They tried mobilizing against her many times, to no avail, Valda simply avoided them. Until one time, the Head of the sect was vulnerable, Valda couldn't pass it up, little did she know she was falling into a trap, with her four year old daughter close behind. Beatrix watched as her mother was butchered by the knights, before finally the head of the sect punctured her heart with a Holy Sword, finally killing her. Beatrix was shocked, not knowing what to do, so she ran. She slipped away from the Knights, her small size coming in handy.

She wasn't crushed by her mother's death, simply, in awe. her mother was the strongest Monster she had ever seen, she thought she was invincible. This was her first internal conflict with death. She had killed humans, because her mother had, thinking nothing of it. But this was the first time she really thought about dying. She starved herself, not knowing how to eat without killing the humans. Near-dead from starvation, she met another demon, a man named Adam. He took her in and taught her how to remove the life force from a sleeping person without killing them, he taught her how to control it. Adam acted like a true parent, he cared for Beatrix, showed her things, acted almost like the polar opposite of her mother. She learned from this man what it meant to be a parent, she cared for him, and he her. They stayed together in the Baltics for a long time, Beatrix grew and became strong. Her new father, Adam, was proud of her, and showed it every day. Adam was an odd demon, he avoided other monsters, and respected humanity, a rare trait in monsters. Beatrix tried to mirror his actions, not killing, being kind to humans, and she liked it. However, her kindness didn't last.

When she was in her mid 40's Adam was captured, not outright slaughtered, by the Sect of the Teutonic Knights that killed Valda. Adam's arms were cut off and he tied to a stake. It was in a small town, all the townsfolk crowded around Adam, they threw rocks and spit on him as the Knights laid kindling at his feet, they knew full well it wouldn't kill him, they were just sadists, they enjoyed killing monsters, not to protect god, or to save people, but to kill and treat their victim any way they wanted. The church doesn't look down on one for killing a demon unchristian-like. Beatrix hid from the Knights trying to figure out what to do to save Adam, but there was nothing she could do, there was no way she could possibly save him without dying. She gazed upon her adoptive father as they set him ablaze, his screams of agony drilled into her psyche, to this day she still remembers those screams as his flesh melted from his bones. He was still alive when the fire subsided. One of the Knights took a blessed spear and shoved it deep through Adam's heart, killing him. It took all of Beatrix' strength to not yell and cry, she wanted nothing more to do it, but she knew that giving away her position to the Knights would mean her death, and she didn't want to die, she wanted to kill. She wanted to burn the village down to the ground and kill every last knight that took Adam away from her. The Knights left the village soon after, followed by praise and cries of admiration from the townsfolk.

The night after the Knights' departure Beatrix gorged herself on the life force of every adult in the village, she let the children run away as she burned down the houses of those that laughed and mocked Adam as his body was lit on fire. As she left the village, the sound of the children crying as they watched their houses burn, their dead parents inside, followed her. it was as she thought about killing the children, the spawn of the humans whom wronged her, that she realized she was no better than her mother. Valda slaughtered the families of each knight she found before ripping their hearts out, she killed their children, their babies, their wives, even though they had nothing to do with the offense. She did it for fun. She didn't even drain them, she just killed them. It was just cruel. Beatrix left the village, she left the Baltics, she couldn't bring herself to stay.

She needed a new life.

Beatrix found herself traveling through Lithuania and Hungary, over a decade, slowly moving through to the Byzantine Empire. She was captivated by the art and architecture, the spirit that was put into the ancient Empire. It was the diminishing relic of the Romans. She saw all the passion that was put into the formation of every last inch of the land, and loved it, even though it was a mockery of what it once was, she was still enthralled. She remained in Constantinople as a Courtesan, using her powers to drain the life force of her clients, while hiding in plain sight. her seductive touch let her give her clients exactly what they wanted, without resorting to deplorably mating with humans. She met many monsters while in Constantinople, most old remnants from the Roman Empire, but many young ones as well. She used her large estate as a sort of way-station for monsters, giving them a safe place to hid from hunters or just to stay within the large city. This was the first time anyone said she would be a good mother. It was a newborn ghoul that she helped get human flesh from a graveyard.

After many years, she knew she had to leave, as the fact that she looked as young as ever began to draw too much attention. She left, but she didn't leave alone. She met a young(about 40) demon, a man named Atticus. She fell for him, loving his attitude and spirit. He was passionate about carving a niche in places for monsters, they were little more than mindless bands of them around, Atticus wanted each to have a strong place everywhere around the world. His passion bled into Beatrix, she couldn't help herself, she fell for him and wanted to help him realize his dream. They left Beatrix' estate open, it was the first of many they would try to create around Europe. For a century they traveled around Europe, trying to create places for monsters to meet and help one another, it wasn't that easy, most of the monsters were independent, not wanting to be led or stay in a city, they wanted to hunt alone. Atticus was charismatic, he tried to talk them into it anyway, throughout the entire century, they only managed Atticus's dream in three cities. They did, however, manage something else. They had three children together, Zoë, Wulf, and Ada. Within a year of their birth, Atticus became more and more concerned about the estate in Constantinople, what with the ever increasing threat of the Ottoman Empire. They left by boat off the Crimea, landing in Constantinople mere days before the Ottomans Laid siege.

Beatrix and her family went to the estate that was once the hub of all the monsters in the city, only to find it empty, there were piles of ash around and a lot of blood, but no bodies. Knowing what had happened they tried to leave the city only to be barred by the city guard, the Ottomans were too close and all traffic into and out of the city was blocked. Knowing full well they weren't safe in the city, Beatrix and her family fled to an Inn in the lower districts of the city, ready to escape at a moment's notice.

A week into the siege, Beatrix left to get "food" for her children, she had seduced a young man with her touch and convinced him to come back to her room in the Inn. When she returned, she opened the door to the room, the young man just behind her. Her heart stopped when she looked inside, her children were dead, their heads were cut off and they each had a knife with a piece of paper tied around the handle stabbed into their hearts, Atticus had his hands cut off and a hole in his chest, no doubt where something holy punctured his heart. In the midst of it all was a single woman. She had long black hair, tied back with a ribbon, a strange robe that was definitely not European, and a long curved sword. She was coated in the blood of her family and when the door opened, the woman smiled as she looked at the heartbroken mother gazing upon all she cared about, dead. She spoke Chinese before raising her sword and charging at Beatrix. Beatrix threw the young man she was planning on using for sustenance on the woman's sword, it cut into his shoulder , getting stuck in his collar bone as Beatrix skillfully moved around him, tackling the woman to the ground, making her drop her sword in the process. Their fight continued until Beatrix got a hold of one of the woman's daggers. It burned Beatrix' skin as she stabbed the woman repeatedly in the chest with it, over and over bringing the knife up and down, cutting into the woman's chest over and over again, she coughed up blood and lost all the strength she had as she tried to get Beatrix off of her. Even after she died Beatrix continued to stab at her, tears fell on the lifeless corpse of her life's murderer as she stabbed her over, and over, and over again.

When she was finally done, she wiped away her tears, kissed each of her children's severed heads and finally her husband, before leaving. She was covered in blood as she walked out into the streets, she was mad. Very mad. She knew this hunter couldn't be working alone, she was good, but not good enough to take out an entire enclave of monsters. She knew the time she had to find them all was limited, the Byzantine forces were outnumbered 10-to-1 by the Ottomans. It took her a month to find the hunters, they were a well connected group, not Byzantines, or Turks, but from far East. She couldn't fight them herself. She knew this. As the Ottoman Janissaries marched down the street a month later, it was the end of the Byzantines, if Beatrix was in her right mind she would've wept for it, all the history and strength of the once great empire, gone.

Beatrix managed to escape the city, going to another conclave she and Atticus had created to try and get help in eliminating these hunters. None of the monsters wanted to help, they thought seeking out hunters was an easy way to get killed. Beatrix left, not giving herself any time to grieve, focusing fully on revenge, she went to another conclave, only to see it had been given the same fate as the one in Constantinople. Only this time, there was a survivor. A younger shape shifter saw the whole thing and escaped. These eastern hunters were stronger than any of the European one's they had faced before, the eastern hunters worked as a team and countered all the monsters beautifully, while the monsters attacked as they normally did, the hunters were outnumbered, but still slaughtered all the monsters without much issue. Beatrix took the young shape shifter to the conclave that rejected her pleas before to warn them. Instead of mounting a defense, all the monsters scattered, running scared from the city. All her emotions of losing her husband suddenly came to full fruition as she saw them break and run, all she could think was that she wished Atticus was there, he would be able to get them together, he could've stopped this...

She left the area as well, fleeing to Russia, where she stayed, alone with her own thoughts, until the 18th century.

She was broken, and useless, for two hundred years she did nothing but pout, it was pathetic, but Beatrix didn't care, she had lost her children, the things that meant the most to her were taken away. She met a family of Ghouls in a small Russian village in Siberia, they were no more than acquainted, Beatrix never even learned their names. One day she found their child butchered in the forest. She quickly went to their home, only to find an Eastern hunter in the midst of battle with the father. She realized how useless she'd been and hated herself for it. She rushed to the aid of her fellow monster, helping him kill the hunter. These eastern hunters were a menace, they needed to be dealt with.

It was then that she knew her purpose... For the next three hundred years she lived, gaining allies, losing friends, doing everything to stop these hunters. She was not a leader however, she couldn't gain enough friends to actually do anything... It was after these three hundred years of constantly moving throughout china, fighting the hunters, losing everything, that she heard of an area with a large number of monsters, truly she could find allies in this haven. Tokyo, Japan. She needed it. She needed to win. More importantly, she needed to stop losing.
