THE SETUP

BASICS OF GAME PLAY:

1. This RPG is a historical/mystery/adventure.

2. Each RPC will start the story in different parts of the world, only to come into contact with one another later on in the story, this will be accomplished by each player controlling two characters, one good guy (their main character) and one bad guy, which will be controlled by one of the other players, so that no one has to roleplay against them self.

This being the only way the characters can be separated while still maintaining interaction between roleplayers.

THE PLOT:

March 23, 1949. Allied-occupied Germany. The Allied powers who defeated Nazi Germany in World War II divided the country west of the Oder-Neisse line into four occupation zones for administrative purposes. The American zone consisted of Bavaria and Hesse in Southern Germany, and the northern portions of the present-day German state of Baden-Württemberg. The ports of Bremen and Bremerhaven were also placed under American control because of the American request to have certain toeholds in Northern Germany. The headquarters of the American military government was the former IG Farben Building in Frankfurt am Main.

It is in this region that our RPG will eventually be centered.

The remaining Nazi left in the country are furious with the Russians as it was they who invaded their capital and allowed the allied forces to win the war. A secret cabal of Nazi soldiers and scientists have devised a plan to take revenge on all their enemies. This they will do by creating a unique army which will march across the world, but the Russians have found a way to counteract this.

It is into such a situation that our characters have been cast.

Here is a hint, and its all I have to say ;)

Abigail was now speaking to Klaus on the telephone, though the chameleon maintained his identity as that of Franklin Belmont, the charming and polite British antiquarian.

"Professor McHugh, I have received some rather disturbing news concerning your colleague and friend professor Walter Miller. One thing I had not yet divulge to you is the interest that certain other parties have in the mechanism which I seek, and which I had ask your assistance in retrieving. It seems that these same individuals have abducted Walter, several hours ago I received a communique and a photo image of the professor and his captors. They insist that you help me in locating the device and return it to them in exchange for your friend."

Franklin stopped his rather rushed revelation to listen for a reply from Abigail, receiving no response from Abigail hinted to the success of his lie.

"I promise you Professor McHugh, help me. We will retrieve the machine and bring it to them as ransom. And I am still certain that you may be healed by its use. This is a chance for you and Walter."

In an attempt to make his con complete Klaus had the actual photo and communication sent to Abigail.

"Within the next hour or two you will receive that same communique and photo image. We must save professor Miller."

There was nothing to do now but wait for Abigail's reply to his seemingly selfless offer of charity.

Walter grumbled to consciousness, finding himself with his head resting on the soft, pale thigh of this stunningly attractive blond stranger. His first thought was not focused on the ringing pain in his head, but upon the possibility that such a blow and the pain issuing from it might be a small price to pay for waking up in such a position.

Walter's hair, which was of considerable length for that particular era was partially covering his features, clearing the strands from his face Walter acknowledged Charlotte's concerns.

"Oh I am fine." Trying to maintain his manhood.

".....I think, and you? Are you Okay!'

Abegail sat. She had no words, nothing to say for what Franklin had told her.

"Walter....abducted. But...." Abegail remained silent as the voice continued.

"Can I trust him? I have to help Walter." She shook her head as he assured her she could be helped by the device. She didn't care, she could live out the rest of her life with the Blood Flag, it was Walter she worried about more.

Abegail licked her lips, realizing just how dry her mouth was. "Mr. Franklin, I do not understand why they are contacting you. Yes you want the device but why abduct Walter and send the ransom to you? What connection you have to Walter other than talking to him about me I am failing to comprehend but I will help you. Not for you, not for me. Once I receive the photo and communication I will meet you at the cafe and we will discuss the next part of the plan. Understand something. I have no reason to trust you and if I think this is a fraud I will be going to the authorities."

Abegail clenched her hand. She began to form a list of things to pack in her head.
---
Charlotte smiled sweetly down at Walter. She brushed his hair from his face. "Dr. Miller I am fine. They did not hurt me so much. A small bump to the head." She lightly brushed his cheek.

"Shall we get you up and set about finding what was taken?" Her eyes were wide, still red as if she had been crying.

Internally Charlotte was urging him up, to get moving, to stop slowing down her plan.

She brushed another piece of Walter's hair from his face. Her head tilted and she smiled again at him.

Klaus had worked it all out prior to asking the switchboard operator to connect him to Abigail's residence in Galicia, Spain. Immediately after Abigail picked up the receiver Klaus, who had once again adopted his fake British accent, dove right into his prepared speech about the abduction of Walter Miller.

He could tell by her voice that Abigial was still hesitant about joining him on the expedition into occupied Germany. Abigail questioned him as to the reason why the abductors would contact him to negotiate Walter's release.

"It is actually very simple professor, someone must have informed them that you weren't too keen on my proposal. The simple fact is that they want the device for themselves."

Klaus thought he might fair better if he played on Abigail's vanity, knowing that she had much pride in securing such a lofty position and reputation in her field.

"I guess they are under the impression that I would fair better in my locating and securing of the device if I had someone of your caliber and position to assist me."

After receiving Abigail's acceptance to meet back at the same cafe where they had met the other day, he hung up the phone.

"Right." Walter spoke in a ached voice as he tried to get to his feet.

Walter stumbled to the couch and sat down.

"So.....Hey I never asked you why you wanted to see me." Walter leaned back.

Abegail frowned at the phone as Franklin hung up.

She immediately began pacing. She waited for the papers to arrive from Franklin, the whole time considering what to do about Walter.

Two hours later, when the messenger knocked on the door Abegail took the envelope, added it to the dossier and headed out to the cafe.

She arrived, took a seat at a table in the corner with her chair facing the door and opened the dossier. Abegail flipped through the papers once more and then took the newly arrived envelope. She opened it and immediately began looking it all over for signs of tampering.

The waitress came over and Abegail absentmindedly ordered a strong cup of coffee.

Fifteen minutes later a cup was placed on the table and Abegail's eyes were still on the papers and pictures.

"Should I go? I canna just let Walter be stuck...what if it is a trap? Walter would go after ye if he thought ye were in trouble..."

Abegail reached into her bag and touched the gun for reassurance. She'd hear Franklin out and she would go with him. She looked up at the door and waited for him to arrive.
---
Charlotte stood once Walter extracted himself from her lap. She brushed her skirt off and walked over to where Walter sat.

"Well wouldn't you like to get this whole robbery and assault taken care of first? If not then I would be happy to tell you why I came looking for the great Dr Rivers. I am working on some research that I could use your expertise on. That is if the subject matter interests you. I don't suppose you have heard of dragon's teeth?"

Charlotte looked coyly at Walter, her lashes batting a little in hopes of drawing him in. She reached out and touched his hand.

"Of course this can wait Dr Rivers until you are feeling better and this is all taken care of." She reached up and touched her head gently. "I should get some ice I think." She made her tone a little sad and pained. Charlotte intended to get his sympathy and to keep his attention.

Abigail didn't have to wait long before Franklin arrived at the secluded and trendy cafe, Franklin came over to the table where Abigail had sat, pulling out a chair for himself. Even before he had taken a seat he started to fill his brunch date in on what was going on with Walter.

"I know that you are having a hard time trusting me, I don't blame you considering all you've been through in the last few years, during your many adventures. In fact, as I already stated, that is precisely the reason why I sought you out."

Finally Franklin sat in his chair, placing the folder he was carrying on the table. "Here is the simply truth." Opening the folder to reveal a stack of papers, much like the ones contained in the dossier Abigail had in her possession.

"We are in grave danger, there is a chance that we will be seeing another world wide war in our lifetime."

Turning over several pages he continued.

"One day from this very hour, the machine mentioned in that dossier, will be crated and boarded onto a plane headed for for East Germany. I'm sure you know about the Russian cutting off all supplies going into the occupied section of Germany? Well, our boys....along with some American chaps have been flying missions in and out of the occupied zone. The item which we seek is being hidden about one of these flights. In short, we must prevent the Russians from getting their hands on what could possible the most destructive force ever conceived in war, a veritable army of Metal warriors. Forces which will sweep across the lands of our failure country and eventually the world."

Klaus lowered his head as if he was truly upset, this of course was mere pretense.

Exhaling. "We need to get that device for our side...at least that was the plan. Now that professor Miller has vanished we need the machine for him. His life depends on us securing it, we must not fail Walter."

Klaus hoped that last sentence would clinch the deal, hoping it had sufficiently pulled on Abigail's heartstrings.

Walter's eyes and mind went wide. "Dragon's Teeth!!"

Forgetting everything but those two words.

"To hell with a few stolen trinkets, tell me everything." She definitely had Walters attention.

Abegail's shoulders slumped a little. The last war had not been over that long, the prospect of another was disheartening. her eyes flashed and her head snapped up as Franklin mentioned Walter and that his life was hanging in the balance.

"Know that I do not trust you. Too much has happened for me to trust anyone fully, especially when they tell me that they know things about my life that they should not know."

She sat back in her chair. "I will go with you. First sign that something isn't as you say and I will be in contact with the authorities." She took a drink of her coffee.

"I will go home and pack. I will meet you at the airport in twenty five minutes."

Downing the last of her coffee, Abegail stood, the dossier under her arm and left the cafe.

Once home she packed a small suitcase, a new briefcase and some notebooks and other books. Sliding the dossier inside her briefcase, Abegail sighed. "Walter, what kind of trouble are we in now?" She talked to the walls. One last check ensured she had her numerous pieces of the Blood Flag, that which was keeping her alive and then she headed out the door.

A cab took her to the airport where she arrived twenty minutes after she had left the cafe. Her hat, coat and gloves on, Abegail stood with her ticket in hand and calmly waited for Franklin to appear. The gun rested in her briefcase as well. Not her typical accessory, Abegail felt it prudent to bring it.
---

Charlotte's eyes twinkled and she moved closer to Walter.

"You know of them? Oh, I am silly, of course the great Dr Rivers knows of dragon's teeth."

She reached out and touched his hand, giving him a coy smile. "What if I said I was trying to find them? What if I told you that I had pinpointed a location and with your help we could find and retrieve them? What if I said that we could stop others from hunting them down first?"

Charlotte batted her eyes, "Would you be interested Dr Rivers? In working with me? In finding them?"

It was 45 minutes later when Klaus Raimund, in his British disguise, showed up at the airport to meet Abigail, who had already standing near the boarding line. Franklin stepped up beside Abigail.

"I have arrived Professor McHugh, all is ready on the other end. There is an air force base just out side of the occupied zone, it is from there that the flights in and out of Berlin originate. I have already acquired the proper permissions from my contact at the British embassy which will allow us to board one of the planes. He has informed me that we must find our own way of taking the device off of that plane, and we only have one hour to accomplish it."

Walter was ecstatic, he couldn't believe what he was hearing. The legend of Dragon Teeth a=had been a life long interest of his, perhaps it was all those years reading high fantasy or his childhood interest in the folklore of dragons.

"I'd be willing to go anywhere, what do you have in mind. Do you know where to start looking?" Walter said to the blond with a strong sense of joy in his voice.

Abegail grew impatient waiting for Franklin. By the time he arrived she was ready to leave. The line for boarding was moving and she contemplated stepping out of it numerous times.

She was silent as he assured her everything was ready on the other end of things. She nodded, "Whatever it takes." She stood with him, following mechanically as she lost herself in thought.

"One hour to get the device off the plane, one hour to get it before it is too late." Abegail glanced up at Klaus wondering just how much she could trust him to help her accomplish this and save her friend. She was comforted by the thought of the gun. Her first goal was to go over all the paper work again that Franklin had given her. She needed to pinpoint exactly what the device looked like and how feesible it was going to be for them to move it. Not only that but what it might be stored in or hidden in.
---
Charlotte smiled. Walter was completely focused on her now, having forgotten Professor McHugh. It was better than she had hoped as she saw his excitement grow.

"Anywhere? Well, Dr Rivers that is wonderful to hear. You won't mind working with me?" Her eyes glanced away from him shyly.

"I happen to be doing research for my doctoral thesis on myths of Greece. You see the dragon's teeth are particularily interesting." Most of her words were a fabrication. Charlotte had been doing research yes, but not for a thesis and not on Greece itself. Her focus had been on obtaining the teeth for her employer. They intended to use the warriors that the teeth were famed to produce to start the war up again.

"I seem to have traced them to a location in Easter Bulgaria. Apparently they were moved there. A monestary had them for a while it was rumoured and now they seem to be under guard. Not entirely sure by who and that is why I need you. To help me locate and extract them for further study."

She placed her hand on Walter's knee, slid a bit closer. "Are you interested?" She looked at him from under heavy eyelids, hoping to appeal to both his sense of adventure and his possible interest in her as a woman.

A few minutes later Franklin and Abigail had boarded the DC-4, formerly a cargo transport during the war, now decommissioned and in use as a commercial flyer. There wasn't much luxury aboard the plane, but it suited their needs and possessed the necessities of successful flight and landing-Wings, wheels and the like.

The 2 hour 20 minutes of flight from Spain to Germany gave the unlikely couple ample time to discus their plan further. Upon first entering the plane Abigail waited for Franklin as he talked via the radio transceiver to his supposed colleague in Germany, this Klaus hoped would lend more credibility to his intricate scam.

Once in their seats Franklin related those details which Abigail was partially prevented from hearing, she had been standing outside the cockpit and in a particularly noisy part of the rattling airplane.

Franklin laid out the general plan.

"Well, everything is settled and waiting. My friend, who is head of security at Heidelberg Air Force Base has insured me that he will do everything he can to keep the plane on the runway for one hour. He will provide some type of distraction which should delay the flight long enough for us to do our part. Once we get there he will escort us to the runway, there we will secure a forklift and removed the prize."

Franklin looked around the aircraft before leaning closer to Abigail so that only she may hear the last bit of plan.

"We will simply wait in one of the hangers until night, then its simply a matter of reserving the next flight out. We will load the device into the plane and be off within minutes."

------------------------------------------------------------

At that moment Walter couldn't make up his mind as to which was more exciting, the thought of adventuring for Dragon's teeth or the hand of a gorgeous dame resting on his upper thigh.

"Ive always wanted to visit Bulgaria." Walter said as he placed his hand over and upon hers.

Walter's enthusiasm did much to cover his true thoughts of concern and suspicion. He had suddenly remembered the few words Abigail said about an important letter that he was meant to receive.

Walter had added to this the troubled demeanor of Abigail's voice over the phone, both of the aspects were wearing heavily on his mind.

Abegail leaned close to Franklin, listening to all he had to say. The plan sounded feesible she just wished she knew him better, trusted him more. If this was Walter's plan she wouldn't think twice. In fact it had more thought and planning than one of Walter's plans. He tended to work off the cuff. Abegail couldn't help but smile at the thought of her friend and their adventures. Their spontanaety seemed to compliment each other. She wondered how Franklin would act if she changed the plan on the fly.

For now she was mildly content to go along with things.

"I do not understand what you need more for exactly. You seem to have many contacts. My presence does not sound like it will help or hinder you. I am going if it means getting Walter back but I am still unsure as to my part."

Abegail couldn't help but feel that staying in the hangar overnight would not be as easy as Franklin made it sound. "Tell me, is there night security for us to worry about at the hangar?"
---
Charlotte blushed and smiled as Walter placed his hand on hers. "Perfect..." All of her plans were falling into place.

"I can have us set up on a plane for Bulgaria in less than an hour. May I use your phone Dr Rivers?"

She did not take her hand from under his, instead playing coy and staring at him. "I look forward to this trip and working with you. I have studied your work extensively." Charlotte leaned in a bit more towards Walter.

"Phone...I should make arrangements for us. I can't tell you how happy I am."

Charlotte paused, scrutinizing Walter for signs of changing his mind. She wanted to ensure his entire focus was her and the dragon's teeth. She left her hand on his leg and with her other crossed his body to touch the back of Walter's head. The move put their faces very close together. Her fingers traced into his hair. "How is your head?"

Charlotte locked eyes with him, her slender fingers tracing the bump on his head lightly.

"Well frankly professor, I didn't think it would be so easy, I thought we would be forced to venture into the occupied zone to retrieve the device, but since all the drama with Walter happened."

Klaus made it a point to call the professor by his first name, in order to give a sense that he was familiar with Walter on a personal level. These were just some of the tricks of the trade, so to speak, for individuals like Klaus who live their entire lives in deceit and deception.

"Walter's professional notoriety opened many doors when it came to making certain arrangements." Klaus continued.

Franklin and Abigail had talked about the device at great length during the flight. He had told her about the healing capacity of the machine, describing it as a kind of Positive pressure intubation device.

The healing factor of the armor suit is meant to repair any damage inflicted upon the wearer during battle, in order to keep that soldier in sufficient condition to carry on in battle for an extended period.

The plane was now only minutes from landing at the base, the two passengers had begone gathering their things in preparation to disembark.

---------------------------------------------------------

Walter felt a little uncomfortable as he sat in close proximity to the strong willed blond, though he had managed to suppress this unease, the intimacy of the moment did a lot to smooth over the anxiety.

"Oh my head?, a lot better thank you." Walter replied in answer to her concern.

"Sure! The phone is all yours. Take your time, I need to pack anyway."

Walter surprised Charlotte a little when he removed himself from her advances and went into his room to pack a light-travel case.

Abegail nodded to Franklin's statements. Of course it wouldn't be easy and even though the plan seemed to come together she wondered if it would go off as expected. She frowned as he mentioned Walter. It was true, Walter's reputation did aid in some things. Perhaps they did know each other. The question was how well, she had never heard him mention Franklin before. They had been out of each other's company for a time now so it was possible that Franklin and Walter had developed a friendship.

The talk of the device, the suit meant to keep a wounded soldier going made Abegail pause. She understood fully why an army would want such a thing but she was comfortable and used to carrying around her pieces of the Flag. She wasn't entirely convinced the device was for her. She'd go after it as it meant Walter's return but as to her use of it, she was still unsure.

As they stood, gathering their things Abegail leaned in to Franklin, "So I am sorry but exactly who are we getting the device for? I know we want to get Walter back but exactly who has him, who wants this and who were you initially working for?" She was hoping by continually questioning him that she might find any lies or inconsistencies.

Abegail followed Franklin off of the plane.
---
Charlotte barely hid her sneer as Walter untangled himself from her grasp. How could he think of packing when she was practically in his lap?

Smiling sweetly, she hid her disgust. Charlotte stood and brushed her skirt, smoothing out wrinkles that were not really there.

"Thank you, I will get right on our travel arrangements."

Charlotte moved to the phone and dialed a number. She waited until it was connected and then proceeded to tell the person on the other line what she wanted arranged. "Two tickets, yes. Two hotel rooms please for when we arrive and a car."

There was a pause. "Oh, I understand. Yes well we will figure out an arrangement. Yes thank you. We will be there in less than an hour. Flight is in hour and a half? Wonderful, thank you."

She placed the receiver down. Everything had already been in place. Two tickets, one hotel room, the car...everything to ensure that Walter was always close, always watched and Charlotte was in control.

She smiled and moved across the room to where Walter had gone to pack, she spoke loudly to ensure he could hear her.

"Our plane leaves in an hour and a half, a car will be waiting for us upon arrival. The only hitch is the hotel only had one room available. I am sure we can find a way to make that work for a few nights. Don't you Dr Rivers."

Klaus had prepared for every conceivable question that might arise within Abigail's mind, and so when she asked him details concerning those parties interested in the device, he simply went through the preparation.

"Well, originally I was asked to retrieve the device by the British Army. They feared that the Soviets, or worse yet the Nazi might discover it. You see, the Germans only knew of the device in its planning stages, that document detailing the device was all that existed, or so they thought. My assignment was to prevent these parties from possessing this most awesome power."

What Abigail had no way of knowing of course was that Klaus' only intention was to retrieve the device for his own purposes.

"As to who has abducted Walter, I'm not entirely certain." This was another lie.

"There is one person, I met her while I was undercover at an American base, she had infiltrated the unit for some reason, which until this very moment I have been unable to ascertain."

Klaus and Charlotte had in fact been stationed there together, their mission had been to gather information on the American involvement in the first few years of the war.

What Klaus himself did not know was where Charlotte's current allegiances lay.

"Its always difficult to tell who is on what side in the spy business. Its hard to unravel things, its a lot like many Occult lodges, the point at which one secret society is simply a mask for another, is blurred at best. I'm sure Walter could confirm this, you see that is how we met. I'm not sure how much you know about professor Miller's interest in regards to the Occult, but we were both members in the same lodge a few years ago."

This one statement was the only time Klaus had spoken the truth since first meeting Abigail. A small six step staircase had been pulled up to the main hatch to assist in Klaus and Abigail's departure from the aircraft.

The two of them walked the tarmac back toward the hangers to the left of the main building, Franklin turned his head as he walked and informed Abigail as to where they would meet their contact. As they walked they both cast several glances to the right to see the DC-4 that Franklin had mentioned.

"There it is." Franklin said to Abigail before turning his head back to face front.

From one of the hangers came the man who Klaus had arranged to serve as his contact, this person was not what Klaus had claimed however, the man was simply acting the part out.

Walter was a proficient packer, he somehow always knew exactly what to bring with him and to what quantity of personal belongings to lug around on any given adventure.

Everything was well placed and arranged in the small case, trousers, shirts, socks.....Alarm clock!!" Walter had unknowingly grabbed the clock, mistaken it for his revolver-The blonds comment concerning the single bed had thrown off the learned professors concentration.

"Um, ah yeah."

Looking down at the bed and his case he noticed the misplaced item.

Abegail listened intently and followed Franklin onto the tramac. It made sense, his story, not that it put her anymore at ease but it didn't feel like an overt lie.

The mention of a woman made Abegail tense. There had been the woman who had pestered her about Walter but there was no way to know for certain if it was connected. Abegail did not believe it to be purely coincidence as she had done enough and seen enough to know that there was no such thing.

Franklin and Walter being members of the same occult order would make sense. Abegail knew Walter had ties to many and she knew enough about them to know that Franklin was correct that the line between friend and foe was blurry. It of course did nothing to help ease her suspicion or concern about trusting Franklin but it at least felt genuine.

At worst it helped bolster her need to be cautious.

Abegail looked to where Franklin indicated and then began to look around her. For years now Abegail had grown convinced that someone was always watching whenever she got involved in something. She did not think now was any different.

She stood just behind Franklin and waited for things to unfold, her eyes subtly watching the areas and people around her.
-----
Charlotte chuckled, "Do not fret Dr Rivers. The room has a couch and I can make do with sleeping on it. I would never want you to feel..." Her hand trailed on the back of Walter's shoulder. "Uncomfortable or compromised."

She glanced into his suitcase. "My, my you are quite good at packing but I guess with how much traveling and adventuring you have done that should not surprise me." She stepped in closer to him to see in his suitcase.

Turning, Charlotte pressed herself lightly against Walter. "My bags are waiting for me to pick up at my hotel. We can leave and head right there. I have a car waiting outside if this is acceptable with you Dr Rivers."

Her voice was soft and she looked at Walter's face as she talked. His earlier movement away from her still irked her and Charlotte wanted his attention back. She was used to calling the shots and having others follow.

"Alright?"

The man pretending to be Franklin's contact at the airport approached the couple. "Franklin, its good to see you again. Come on, the hanger with the forklift is over here to the left." With that brief introduction Franklin and Abigail followed the man to the smaller hanger to the left of the airport.

The doors of the hanger were open wide, there was nothing inside the smaller hanger, save for the forklift spoken about in the preperations. "You have one hour to get the cargo off of that plane." Warned the contact as he pointed toward the aircraft.

The DC-4 was a few hundred feet from the set of hangers, it had been left unguarded and the pilot wasn't due to arrive at the airport for several more hours.

The device had been loaded upon the plane in complete secrecy by an unknown party. This suggested to Klaus that the original plans for the device, which Abigail had seen within the folder that Klaus had given to her, were discovered and smuggled out of Germany by a secret order of some type, rather then by Nazi agents.

What Klaus had told Abigail about him meeting Walter as a fellow member of a secret lodge was a complete fabrication. Klaus had no informants in Occult circles, most of his knowledge of the occult black market revolved around paramilitary associations.

"Ill get the forklift." Franklin said before walking over to the 3000 pound machine.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Walter was primed to begin the adventure to discover and retrieve the fabled Dragon's Teeth, this was clearly reflected in his reaction to Charlotte's proposal.

"That's perfect fine with me. So, shall we go."

He still had questions to ask, but he decided to let that go for the time being. Walter broke off the close contact which he and the blond shared at that moment, making his way to the front door Walter opened it and then turned back.

"You coming?" Said Walter in a heightened and excited tone.

Abegail moved with Franklin into the hangar as he focused on the man he was meeting. She kept watch, looking for those who might be lying in wait.

Abegail moved to the side, nodding curtly to Franklin as he said he would go get the forklift. She was glad he was going to do it as she had no idea how to operate the large machine. She wondered again how she was to be of use in this little adventure. Choosing to play lookout she put her small bag in the corner, taking the gun out and slipping it into her coat pocket as she did so. Abegail moved to a spot where she could easily see anyone coming towards them. She listened for the sound of the forklift.
---
Charlotte preferred it when Walter was excited as he paid better attention to her and asked less questions. She needed him to yield to her desires in this, not his own devices. She followed him to the front door. Watching him get ever more excited.

'Of course Dr Rivers."

She moved past him and out into the street where a car with a driver waited for her. Charlotte walked towards it and quickly slipped inside. "Hotel and then airport. Say nothing to him do you understand?" She ordered the driver in Russian. The man nodded his agreement. She looked out the window to where Walter was exiting the house and she assumed locking the door behind him.

When he entered the vehicle, Charlotte smiled. "Off we go Dr Rivers. Since we will be both rooming and working together please, call me Charlotte. It is a pleasure to have you as a part of my small team working on locating the dragon's teeth. Your work is legendary and impressive and I just knew you were the man I needed to find." Charlotte looked away coyly, glancing back at Walter with slightly flushed cheeks. "You might say I am an admirer of yours Dr Rivers."

She adjusted in her seat. "The car is taking us to the hotel very briefly, they have my bags at the front desk and then onto the airport. We will be in Bulgaria by morning. There are a few short layovers and one switching of our plane before we arrive."

Franklin's "German contact" meandered up to Abigail as she stood guard eying her partners movements.

"I hope you are able to get the device off of the plane in time, I cant keep it here indefinitely." The stranger said as he stepped beside her.

The man's intention was first to gain her confidence, but more importantly to relieve Abigail of the gun which she possessed, for she no doubt had one on her person.

Klaus had guessed as much and when Abigail was less attentive to their communications with one another Klaus had instructed his secret partner to take the necessary precautions.

Abegail pressed her lips together, forming them into a straight line. Her hand wrapped around the handle of the gun in her pocket and she nodded to the man. She was not overly enthused with him approaching her, let alone speaking to her.

She eyed him warily. "I am sure he knows what he is doing." Abegail's eyes scanned the airport in front of her but her body was tense as he settled in beside her. She did not want him there, she did not know him and the less contact she had with anyone in this operation the better.

Abegail moved away as if she was watching some unseen movement in the shadows. A ploy as she simply wished to be away from the man. Her head turned to look to where Franklin was working with the forklift.

"Take it off the plane and then sit with it in hiding....stupid idea Abby." She could almost hear Walter's voice in her head. "Ye bastard, ye better be alive when this is done and a damn good excuse for being kidnapped." Abegail scolded the imaginary voice in her head.
----
The car pulled up to the hotel and Charlotte smiled sweetly. "I will be but a moment." She stepped out of and headed into the hotel. Once inside she approached the desk, received her waiting bags and placed a quick call. Everything was still as planned her check in confirmed. She and Dr Rivers would arrive, be set up at the hotel. She would drill him for information on the teeth and more along the way and then, he would help her get them.

Charlotte smiled, picked up her bags and headed back out to the waiting car.

In the vehicle, the driver did as instructed. He sat stoically, quietly and waited. He made no conversation with Walter and did not even acknowledge his presence.

Charlotte slid into her seat again, her small suitcase placed at her feet. "Alright, we are ready for the next adventure."

She reached out and took Walter's hand, giving it a small squeeze. "Very exciting isn't it?" She blushed and placed her hand back in her lap.

The car drove on to the airport.

The two pronged forklift was positioned near the midsized 1940's DC-7, this 56 seat airliner had been converted to a simple cargo plane. The over-sized door which had been built for this purpose was wide open, allowing the forks of the 3 ton machine to slip into the aircraft with the greatest of ease.

Unfortunately, the crate which Abigail and Klaus sought after was merely one of several such items, Klaus would have to remove several crates before he could even get near the one containing the prize. As it turned out, the crate which they were after had been loaded into the cargo-hold last, and so Klaus was forced to remove every single create from the plane.

Little did Abigail know, this seemingly unfortunate snag in the proverbial carpet, had been arranged by Klaus' contact; the mysterious man who had meandered up to Abigail. Then next thing to catch Abigail off guard was the unexpected, yet all too familiar sound of gunfire.

With the gunfire came the well rehearsed surprise on the faces of Klaus and his German friend-It had all been pre-arranged to go down in this manner.

"I thought we had an hour!" Franklin screamed at the top of his lungs, although his words failed to break through the intense gunfire, they were clearly understood, as something had certainly gone wrong with Franklin's plan.

"At least we know who it was that had loaded the crate aboard the DC-7." Came words of obviously wisdom from the rather dull looking man to Abigail's left.

"Please Miss, we must board the plane. I shall take you and Franklin out of harms way. Please come with me." The black clad man shouted before running toward the DC-7.

"Franklin! never mind that, get aboard I'm flying you and the professor to safety."

Abegail was extremely confused. "Guns...but..." She looked around. She couldn't see anyone in particular or identify where the shots were coming from exactly.

She heard Franklin yell, sort of. His voice carried but the words were garbled under the heavy fire. Abegail ducked down and ran for the closest cover.

"What the hell is goin' on?" She screamed at Franklin, knowing he likely couldn't hear her.

Her eyes darted to the other man. He told her to come and ran towards the plane. Exasperated and scared, her hand still wrapped around her gun in her pocket she followed.

Thanking her sensible nature and her flat shoes, Abegail made it to the plane as Franklin was order in. Gritting her teeth, a quick look over her shoulder and she followed into the metal bird.

"Where are ye taking us now? Ye expect ta just fly this out of here?" She glanced from the "pilot" to where she had entered the plane. "Donna just sit there do somethin' before they shoot us full of holes!"

Abegail crouched by one of the remaining crates. "Franklin, I hope ta the saints ye have a plan."
---
The driver took Walter and Charlotte to the airport. Once there Charlotte stepped out, carried her bag and headed inside. She found the desk that she needed, procurred the waiting tickets and handed Walter's to him.

"Ready Dr Rivers?"

Charlotte smiled, linked her arm with Walter's and led him to the line up for their flight.

Once they had boarded and settled in Charlotte yawned. "The excitement has caught up to me. I do hope you do not mind if I doze a bit." She closed her eyes, not waiting for a response. Charlotte purposely let her head loll to the side, resting on Walter's shoulder.

Inwardly she smiled. No man had resisted her charms before and she would do whatever it took to keep Walter focused on only her and her mission.

Abigail was understandably concerned as to how they would get out of this latest sticky situation, she was no stranger to well laid plans turning to hairy problems without a moments warning. This time however things seemed particularly bleak, gazing out the small window Abigail could see a line of heavily armed men standing at the open face of the hanger.

Franklin looked out a window also, but he had very different reasons, he was concerned that people who he had hired to carry out this hoax might jeopardize its authenticity. Seeing that everything was fine Franklin turned his attentions to the far end of the hanger, it was closed off with no exit-He would make one.

"Did you set the charges!" Franklin called to the German man who had just settled himself in the pilots seat.

"I have Sir." The man replied, pulling the ignition device from his coat pocket, he pointed, pressed, and then released the switch.

"Go!" Franklin shouted just as the explosives ripped a sizable hole in the back of the hanger, the entire back portion of the hanger fell to the ground.

"Take off, now" Franklin called out in his best "Scared to hell" imitation.

The plane started off toward the additional opening provided by the explosives. For whatever reason the armed soldiers made no attempt to chase the plane down or even fire a single shot at the unarmed DC-7.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Walter didn't quite expect the blonds forwardness, in fact it was kind of a turn off, though perhaps more of a mixture between turn off and male-ego on the level of guilty pleasure. Not that he was fumbling before exceptionally beautiful woman, which she certainly was.

It was going to be a bit of flight, so Walter settled back and maintained their current.......seating stance, if you would.

Within a brief time a slight pain returning to his head, the residual effect of the bump to the head that he had suffered.

Her frowned deepened. Men stood, blocking the exit out. Abegail gripped the closest object, her knuckles turning white. Her mind whirled with plans. How to get off the plane, with the crate. How to avoid the men...it all seemed so incredbily hopeless. "I wish you were hear Walter."

Franklin's voice turned her attention. “Charges?” She spoke out loud but both men were preocupied. Abegail's worry again went back to confusion. “Charges? Who sets charges for what we were supposed to be doing?” It made no sense to Abegail. “If we were taking the crate and then waiting it out why would you set charges? Unless....”

Her eyes narrowed and she watched both men very carefully. Her hand gripped the butt end of her gun. She was even more wary of them now. "What is going on and what have I gotten myself into?" In front of them explosions rocke the wall and it crumbled in debris and smoke. The plane rocked from the blast, Abegail waivered slightly on her feet.

The plane moved, the engine roaring as the man piloted it out through the newly blown open hole. Abegail held on tightly. Her eyes moved to Franklin. He seemed worried enough but..Abegail shook her head. There were questions in need of answers. They would wait until they were safely off the ground.

Her head turned back to look out the window at the armed men who had been aiming for them. “Something isn't right here.” Abegail had been in plenty of situations, plenty, that involved guns and soldiers and people trying to stop her from getting whatever it was the she was chasing down. She had never witnessed a group of armed men simply stand there as a plane took off. They didn't even try to stop them.

Her eyebrow raised as she stared at the backs of Franklin and his contact's heads. The plane was lifting off the ground now.

“That was a lucky getaway. Smart to set those charges. Almost like you knew..”

Her voice was calm and steady, her fingers around her gun though it remained in her pocket.
----
Charlotte 'woke' a short time later, giving a small sigh. She gently lifted her head from Walter's shoulder. Her eyes opened slowly, lashes fluttering in her mock stirring. She looked up at Walter, a slow realization coming to her eyes. Slowly, she moved her head from his shoulder.

“Oh my, Dr Rivers. I am sorry to have fallen asleep on you.”

Her pale cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

Her fingers smoothed her hair as she sat back up. Her head tilted as she looked Walter over. “Are you alright? We will be landing soon enough to switch planes and then it is on to Bulgaria.”

Charlotte wondered if she had chosen the right man for this mission. She had been told that he was smart, quick, adventurous and industrious. She wondered if it was all still true.

Her hands folded neatly in her lap as she looked him over, a look of concern on her face.

The DC-7 had successfully achieved flight and was now up in the blue, cloudless skies over Germany, they had escaped the onslaught of gunfire, non of the bullets seeming to have reached their targets, an unusual occurrence which spoke volumes to Abigail's suspicious.

As far as Klaus was concerned his plan had succeeded. Abigail certainly never gave the impression of someone who had figured out a great conspiracy, as they had been airborne for over an hour, without so much as a raised question from the scholar

-Things were going as planned!

Klaus suddenly dropped his phony British accent, turning to face Abigail, who could immediately see the change in the man, his expressions going from a good Ole' Chap, to that of a bloody Nazi.

"Well now, doktor McHugh." Quickly pulling out his own handgun from the side-pocket of his flight jacket.

"You have expressed your confusion as to the reasons for your presence in this adventure. It is simple really. I am double-crossing my associate, who as we speak is traveling with Walter.....No! We never had him as a prisoner, he was recovering from a blow on the head, we just took a few photos of him. He made a quick and full recovery after the incident, even feeling well enough to catch a flight with my colleague Charlotte Bergmann....A double agent like myself."

Klaus stood up, continuing to speak as he walked toward the back of the plane.

"They will find their own prize, Charlotte will turn on your friend, he will do away with her a secure his prize. Then we shall use you as ransom to get the item from him. Then, I shall possess two of the greatest weapons mankind will ever have the misfortune to see being put to use."

Franklin turned to face her. She could tell there was something different about the man before he opened his mouth. Abegail's hand gripped her gun tighter. The moment the accent hit her ears Abegail sneered. She couldn't help it. He pulled the gun and she immediately took a step back.

Her eyes narrowed, her angry bubbling and in danger of bursting forth. “A double cross, Walter traveling with his associate, bump on the head...Charlotte.” Abegail remembered the name. The woman who mailed her the letter, called her home and who appeared at Walter's house. “Ye right arse ye dinna listen ta me at all.” She cursed Walter silently. She knew that woman was going to be trouble and to find out now that both she and Walter were set up and being used against each other made the Irishwoman steam.

Abegail barked a harsh laugh. “Ransom me? You think Walter is just going to hand you over whatever it is that they are going after for me?” Abegail stepped back again. “You think I am just going to let you hold me hostage? Let you ransom me or do you think I would let him give up something valuable for me?” She laughed again.

Her breath slipped out through her nose, “You are sadly mistaken Mr, whatever your name is. I will never let that happen.”

Abegail pulled her gun out of her pocket, aiming it at Franklin. “I am not some meek woman who will be pushed around and used.”

She watched him very carefully. Both had guns, both knew better than to shoot them in and aircraft but neither appeared willing to back down. “I will not help you set up Walter.”
------
Their plane began to descend.

Charlotte smiled, concern still clouding her face. “This is our layover Dr Rivers. Would you like a bite to eat? Perhaps a drink or something for your head?”

The plane touched down. The passenger's rocking with the less than smooth landing. Charlotte cursed in Russian under her breath. A slender hand pushed back a few loose blonde strands of her hair.

As the aircraft stopped Charlotte stood. “Well now, shall we?”

She smiled sweetly down at the still sitting Walter.

Re: Operation SS Metal Dragon

Alright, so putting this here so everyone knows. I am heading out of town starting tomorrow night(providing I can make the nine hour drive after all the snow) I will have my laptop and internet while I am away but not sure how much time I will have to post.

I will check on things while I am away so as not to fall too far behind. I am back home on the 29th, able to post again regularly on the 30th.

Re: Operation SS Metal Dragon

No problem. Get to it when you can. :)

Re: Operation SS Metal Dragon

Hey, Skullips :) Sorry for the delay, working on my post right now

Re: Operation SS Metal Dragon

:) Yeah, just trying to think of what to write ;)

Re: Operation SS Metal Dragon

Hello? Wade? I posted...just FYI in case you haven't checked in a few days.

Thats fine, Ill also be away till Sunday-Halloween Horror Nights ;)

Re: Operation SS Metal Dragon

Alright so I caught up a couple of days ago but I am on my way out of town for some Halloween fun this weekend. Gone tomorrow till Monday. I will read in the hotel but can't promise a response as I have a ton of stuff planned!

I look forward to this moving more :)

Re: Operation SS Metal Dragon

Okay then. I will try and post tomorrow. Back to teaching a lot during the week so I am super tired tonight.

Re: Operation SS Metal Dragon

Nice catch, go with the second one....lie

sorry

Re: Operation SS Metal Dragon

Um Wade? Bit confused...one post ago it was the one truthful thing he had told Abegail...

"I'm sure Walter could confirm this, you see that is how we met. I'm not sure how much you know about professor Miller's interest in regards to the Occult, but we were both members in the same lodge a few years ago."

This one statement was the only time Klaus had spoken the truth since first meeting Abigail."

---
Now it is a lie?

"What Klaus had told Abigail about him meeting Walter as a fellow member of a secret lodge was a complete fabrication. Klaus had no informants in Occult circles, most of his knowledge of the occult black market revolved around paramilitary associations."

I need to know which it is as it seems to be contradicting information.

Will have a post up this evening and I will think on the other roleplay.

Re: Operation SS Metal Dragon

Sorry Wade but not sure what I can do with Abby...maybe give her some of those details so I can ask questions? I like it but I was waiting for Klaus to give her the plan as he has it so that she could ask him stuff and what not.

Re: Operation SS Metal Dragon

Got super busy sorry! Post tomorrow! Sorry again!!

Re: Operation SS Metal Dragon

And posted. Home for the weekend and next week, gone again next weekend

Re: Operation SS Metal Dragon
