Description

Luke William Corriel
Image

Layer One
Nickname: Will
Nothing special there. I do prefer to be called by first name, though.

Gang: Thunder
A group of wild people. I'm with them, so I suppose I'm pretty wild too.

Gender: Male
Use you eyes, please.

Age: 16
A pretty good age, other than the fact it let me be stuck in here.

Layer Two
Eye Color: Yellow-green
Think the color of an old leaf. Or pee with some grass juice mixed in.

Hair Style/Color: His hair is black and shoulder length. It's straight and he usually lets it hang.
I like to comb it to keep the knots out.

Height/Weight: He's 6 feet tall and weighs 155 lbs.
I'm skinny but not emaciated.

Clothing Style: Luke usually wears t-shirts and shorts. He also wears thick, wire-framed glasses he needs to let him see well (he is near sighted).
I like to wear shirts from places I've been, especially 'cause I'll never go to any of them again.

Best Physical Feature: His long, delicate fingers.
Great for reaching into small cracks or pulling out a splinter.

Layer Three
Fears: Dolls, spiders, going insane
Dolls are just plain creepy, spiders are poisonous, and insanity is scary.

Guilty Pleasure: Growing plants
Not that they'll grow well with these never ending clouds.

Biggest Pet Peeve:
People who go out of their way to be nasty.
There's a name for them. It's called asshole.

Future Ambitions:
Luke had wanted to go to college and study biology. He had dreams of becoming a marine biologist before all of this started to happen.
Yeah, that's right, I wanted to study things that live underwater. I guess I'm stuck with studying things living in an evil dome instead.

Layer Four
Thoughts When Waking Up: At first he didn't realize anything had changed. He slept in on a school day but he assumed he had just woken up really early so it felt like he slept in. Once he pierced the haze of sleep he wondered why his mom or dad hadn't come in to get him up. He began to freak out when there were no signs of his family. Where were the reprimands that he slept too long? As it slowly dawned on him that there were no more adults he became nervous and scared. Sooner than later he started to change and adapt in more ways than one.
I would have never suspected anything like this to ever happen. It's like my life's become a creepy, twisted horror story.

What You Think About the Most: Family, sunlight, school, the stars.
I sure miss the weirdest things, don't I.

Best Quality: Honesty
Trust Aesop and his fables. Honesty really is the best policy. Generally.

Layer Five
Likes: Mint, pizza, reading, swimming, running, cooking, friends.
Yep, even though this place has turned topsy-turvy there still are some things I like about it.

Dislikes: The color pink, when people sniffle, visual distractions, scary stories, not being able to dry off when wet.
I don't like having to wear glasses, either.

Personality: Luke is a serious, matter of fact person. He is a bit awkward socially and will usually stay quiet unless there is something he feels is necessary to say. He doesn't like it when someone bullies another person, but he rarely stands up for them. Instead he will comfort them from the sidelines when the tormentor hopefully isn't looking. He is very literal with how he interperts what people say. He doesn't get most sarcasm (except when it's blindingly obvious) but usually will understand when someone is using an idiom. He is a horrible lie detector.
Beneath his grounded exterior lies his dreamer self, the one that still yearns for the opportunity to go to college. He has a tendency to shut people away from himself, though, especially with how unpredictable people have become. Not that he was ever good at predicting what others would do. He has a never give up attitude and can be extremely determined, sometimes bordering on stubborn. Although he is often serious, he loves a good laugh.
If I can make someone laugh today then today was a day well spent.

Power: Luke's power developed quickly after the barrier came, before he joined the Thunders gang. He still isn't quite used to it. The fact is that Luke now has two bodies. One is his normal teenager self and the other is a huge snow-leopard looking cat. His cat body is five feet tall at the shoulder and is covered with long, thick fur that is white except for many inky black spots. It has excellent night vision and can leap to astounding heights. It cannot talk. As most cats do it has teeth, claws, and an agile grace. Luke calls it Deshon. Luke can see out of both sets of eyes simotaneously, hear with both ears, etc., giving him superior senses. A useful thing about having two bodies is the fact that one can guard while the other is sleeping. There are drawbacks, too. If either of his bodies get hurt they his mind feels it. He also has to feed his human body and his cat body, which eats quite a bit. If his bodies get too far away from each other his mind starts to splinter and break. Thus he tries to remain as close to himself as possible. He hasn't let anyone know let that Deshon is actually another body of his. He just tells them that the large, conspicous cat is an animal he can control. So far the shaky ruse has held up, but people are wondering...
I have the strangest power that I know of. Can you beat it?

Layer Six
Favorite Color: Blue
It's the color of Deshon's eyes.

Favorite Animal: Sugar Glider
You'd like them too if your science teacher brought them in for a show and tell.

Favorite Movie Genre: Action
What's the point of a movie if nothing exciting happens?

Layer Seven
Love Interest: N/A
I'm only sixteen.

Sexuality: Bi
Why rule something out when you're just beginning?

Favorite Eye Color: Green
Like a tree's leaves.

Favorite Hair Color: Red
It's not something you see often. Thus it's more of a novelty.

Layer Eight
Family:
William Corriel: Luke's father. William was a loving dad. He went to work and spent long hours there but when he came home he was ready to help out with schoolwork or dinner. He was a nature lover and would take Luke for long walks in the woods around where he grew up. It was from him that Luke gained his love of life.
Sarah Corriel: Luke's mother. Sarah was the sort of mom who made a lesson out of everything. Life was a learning experience and she made sure her kids took away something from everything. She loved to go on vacations and explore the great outdoors. She had her own garden that worked on together with Luke. Luke's favorite section was the herbs. Sarah worked as a editor for a newspaper and was always one to hand out writing assignments in addition to what was covered in school.
Beka Corriel: Luke's older sister. Beka was his senior by two years yet the two got along pretty well. She made efforts to include Luke and talk to him daily. Luke didn't always like the intrusion on his privacy, but he usually talked to her. She gave him advice on how to talk to people and he showed her how to use a computer to make a graph. Beka always egged him to create an account in a social network but he declined, saying that it was much better to talk to people in person. She was a positive force in his life and could always make him laugh.
I miss them.

History:
Luke lived like any other kid. He had schooling, played in the park, ate candy, and drove his parents crazy. He was homeschooled for the majority of his life and went to Raddition High for highschool. He had some social problems. The kids didn't know him very well and vice versa, leading to some awkward moments. He was ahead of the class for the most part until he started to take more advanced classes. He was the kind of student who did well in school as far as studies went but not so well in the social world. With his extra time he began to enlarge his mother's garden and cook his own meals from it. Although he never got close to many people, he eventually did become adept at small talk. Once he felt like he was getting somewhere with his social skills the dome came and everything changed again. Typical.
There wasn't really anything special about me until now.

Sera was quite surprised to see her fellow gang member open the door. His dog almost bounded inside, overcome with the excitement that only dogs could muster. Matt quickly got him back under control.

Sera always thought that Mat was a cutie. Those eyes were enough to give her chills. She kept her distance though, knowing it was probably not a good idea to be looking for a boyfriend, you know with the whole town being turned upside down and what not.

"Hi Sera." He greeted. "I hope you don't mind me bringing Chase along."

"No not at all," She smiled sweetly at both of them. "Have you eaten yet?" It was a genuine question. "I think we have some stuff still in the kitchen." She bet over and sensed for the dog's intent. Sensing nothing malicious she petted him softly on the head.

"Heard from any of the Thunders today?"

As if on cue, Luke was at the doorway too along with his large cat. Luke was another cutie, but in a different way. His eyes were an exotic color, yellowish it would seem. Made sense, maybe it came with his ability to control the cat. His eyes were cat like themselves.

"Hello, Matt, Sera. Do you guys mind if Deshon and I enter as well?" He asked so nicely. Sera wondered if Deshon and Chase were going to tear her apartment up, but then decided to push her worries aside.

"No problem. Make yourselves at home."

Muggy, stifling clouds hung low in the sky outside the window of sports center. They huddled together in a tightly knit group, refusing to let any pure sun light come down to the starved ground. Of course, it could be moonlight, too, that they were restricting, for there was no longer day or night but just one never-ending curtain of cloud. Every thing about the weather was always the same now. It never rained or snowed, it never was windy beyond a slight breeze, clouds forever covered the sky, and the stars never, ever came out.

So of course with all that was staying the same, something had to change. Why not the people? It was if indeed someone had said those very words. Mutations sprang up, deadlier and more unpredictable than a rattlesnake. Hidden natures were uncovered and true colors were displayed, some better than what was expected but others terribly worse. Gangs formed and people clashed to create the chaos that was now known as life.

Inside the sports complex rested a strange, two-bodied being known as Luke William Corriel. His human body, the one he referred to as Luke-body, was eating granola bars. He enjoyed the crunchy texture and the sweet taste, knowing that in the cat body's mouth it would be unpleasant. He called his cat body Deshon-body. Luke was still unused to possesing two bodies. His conciousness controlled each of them simotaneously, except for when one or both of them were asleep. On the inside he was still Luke, but on the outside he had split persons. He often worried that his mind would split. Maybe it already had.

Luke-body shook Deshon-body awake and the cat part of him yawned, showing enormous teeth. Deshon-body stretched and Luke's dual-bodied mind felt the delicious feeling of muscles and tendons being exercised. He shifted his concious mind to Deshon-body. It was often too confusing to try to control two bodies at once.

Luke located where he had stored the raw meat and started to eat. At the back of his mind he could sense his human body, a nearly deserted sentinel post. As he ate he enjoyed the flavor of the meat. It was a taste he had never seen himself liking before all of this had happened. When he finished eating he told his cat body to wash up and shifted to his human one. He could still feel what the other body was feeling, but it was muted, diminished, and all together less confusing.

He took off the soft, worn clothes he wore when he slept and donned a t-shirt that said Got Oxygen? on it and some sports shorts. He folded up the gym mat he slept on and wrapped his blanket around his hoard of books. Yes, most people probably weren't too interested in stealing science textbooks or any other kind of book, but one could never be too sure.

He called Deshon-body to his side and set out. He planned to visit Sera, for she had declared her quarters open. It would be better to be together than alone. There was safety in numbers.

His new tennis shoes (filched from a store- not that anyone really cared since since the owners were long gone) were comfortable and protected his human feet well. As far as Deshon-body went the cat had leathery pads thicker than the soles of his shoes.

In his pocket rested a package of dark chocolate for Sera. He knew she liked it, or at least that she ate candy. It was also to work as a bribe to get her to allow Deshon-body into her home if needed. As he approached the building Sera lived in he saw Matt and one of his dogs. Luke got along alright with Matt, but he was careful not to let the other boy take any blood from either of his bodies. Sera burst out of the door and the dog- Luke believed its name was Chase- tried to get in. Matt made a hissing noise that rang loud and clear in Deshon-body's ears and the dog sat. He sure has good control of his dogs, Luke thought.

"Hello, Matt, Sera. Do you guys mind if Deshon and I enter as well?" he asked. He took off his glasses and wiped the dirt off of them. Deshon-body's tail flicked about distractedly and a purring resonated from its throat. One of the strange thing about Deshon-body was that despite its big cat appearnce it still could do some things of big cat couldn't, such as purr. Hopefully the other people in the Thunders gang didn't know that big cats couldn't purr or else he was another step towards being uncovered.

"Thanks Sera, but i'm not hungry and i fed Chase before we left home." He says as he watches her pet Chase, who just smiles dumbly at her and tries to lick her hand as she pulls away from him. Matt walks inside the Apartment with Chase following. After a few steps Chase's Head turns swiftly towards the door making Matt turn to look, expecting trouble when a voice spoke. "Hello, Matt, Sera. Do you guys mind if Deshon and I enter as well?" "Hello Luke." It was only Luke, a fellow Thunder, along with his Big Cat Deshon. Chase makes a noise somewhere between a growl and a whimper when he see's the big cat at Luke's side. "Easy boy." Matt scratches behind Chase's ear and he relaxes a little. "Oh, also you guys, please just call me by my nickname, Mateus. 'Matt' is so common it's boring." He says to them

Matt makes his way towards a couch in the apartment and sits down, Chase laying at his feet. "As for talking to other Thunders, you two are the only people i've seen so far today. And i haven't seen boss man in..... three days, i think." Matt says, he measures 'Days' In how many times he has slept.

"Also I was thinking of checking on the Children in the day care today, you know. Making sure none have any new cuts or bruises, and cleaning the ones they do have and i was wondering if you two would like to tag along. It would be safest to go if i had a group along for the trip, not to mention Luke can scare people away and Sera, you can tell me if anyone of the Young ones are not saying everything that's wrong with them." He says to the two, Sera would be very helpful given that she can sense others feelings and Deshon will stop people from trying anything funny. It's not that he couldn't defend himself, it's just people are less likely to attack when there is a group of people in the same faction, or when there is a giant freaking Snow Leopard with the group. "But you guys don't have too, i can make my way over there by myself if i need to" He says, Although he was really hoping they'd agree, just for the added security.

"Speaking of Cuts and Bruises, you two don't need anything looked at do you?" He asks, carefully eyeing the two, looking for anything that may be wrong with them. He even quickly checks Deshon's body for any visible problems.

Sera smiled at Mateus' concern. He was looking her and Luke over with such vigor.

"No, I'm fine, I promise." She almost laughed as she said it. "I have nothing better to do. I would be happy to help you with the kids." It wasn't just her power that would come in handy. Despite being a human lie detector, Sera loved children. She had a sort of affinity with them. She had no problems getting down on her hands and knees and getting on their level. Kids respected her for that.

"What about you? She asked Luke with a flinty smile on her face. "Are you going to come a long for the ride?" She was always flirting without meaning to. It didn't help that she had these two very handsome guys around her all the time. It was nice, hanging out with these two. She felt like she had a family for the first time in a long time. She didn't even really miss the city the way it used to be.

Matt announced that he wanted to go check up on the kids at the nursery. Always the one to care, aren't you, Matt? That's a good thing. The world could use more of that. What we don't need is a bleeding heart. Just don't go too extreme. Too much of a good thing can be bad. Luke fingered the chocolate in his pocket, thinking about how the kids at the day care would like the creamy sweetness. They probably didn't have much access to sweets because the grocery store was in the Thunders territory. It wasn't the only source of food, of course, but it was a main one.

"What about you? Are you going along for the ride?" Sera asked, smiling.

"Yeah, I'll go, too. There's safety in numbers. And big cats," he said, smiling. "I'm curious if any of the little ones are developing powers."

Luke wanted to shift his point of awareness to Deshon-body, but to do so would be risky. While he wanted to experience first hand (or paw?) the hightened senses of his cat body he didn't want to increase the risk of exposing his secret. He didn't want to let his friends know that he had been lying to them. It would probably be better to tell them. They would receive the news better if he told them himself. But if he did tell them it would reveal a big weakness of his. They could exploit him through the fact that he couldn't fully control two bodies at once. Not that he expected Sera and Matt- or Mateus, as he wished to be called- would do such a thing; instead, he was worried about what others would do if they leaked the secret.

"Let's go. It will be nice to see some kids, if they'll welcome us," he said, both of his bodies starting to walk in the direction of the nursery.

Matthew Hale

"Excellent." Mateus says with a smile. He stands from the couch he was sitting on, patting his thigh making chase stand to his feet and follows closely behind Matt. "Well, if they don't want to get sick they'll have to welcome us." Mateus says dismissively. Mateus falls into step besides Luke and Chase runs ahead to sniff at an old garbage bag laying in the street. "Leave it." He says sternly and Chase quickly loses interest in it and runs for a tree to relieve himself. "So i left everything needed at the Daycare on my last visit, so we don't have to stop by my place." He says. "Hopefully the guy that looks over the kids won't give me difficulty in making sure they are okay in terms of physical injuries." Mateus says. The guy who looks over the little kids is very protective. Mateus has observed that much when he was there the last few times, he had to put pressure on a nasty cut on one of the children which caused him to scream and the guy had a look of pure fury.

"So, what do you guys think will be in store for us today? You think it will be like any other?" He asks when a kid comes running around the corner ahead of them, starling Chase and causing him to bark at the kid in a warning manner. "Easy boy." Mateus recognizes the younger kid, he was a fellow Thunder. "I'm glad i found you three" Says the boy, panting. "All the food at Wally world, it's gone." Mateus stops in his tracks. "Gone? What do you mean 'Gone'?" He asks the boy. The food? Gone? "It can't just have vanished!!" Mateus says losing his composure for a moment. He takes a deep breath and places his hand to his face. No food? Oh god, when people get hungry bad things happen. The gangs will be at each others throat, accusations will fly and blood will spill. Not only that but medical problems will ensue. Lack of Vitamin C will cause Scurvy, lack of calories and fat will cause peoples weight and energy levels to drop and so many others that Matt cannot name them all. He lowers his hand and looks at Sera and Luke. "A storm is coming, and who knows how it will end." Mateus turns to the boy that gave them the news. "I assume you are also going to tell the other members? I would get on that, fights are going to start soon, it's best everyone is prepared." The boy nods and runs off.

He turns back to his friends. "People are going to start turning on each other, and animals are going to become food...." He stops talking as the thought leaves his mouth, his mind turning to the two most important things in his life right now. Chase and Maggie. "Chase, come." He says and Chase slinks over, sensing that something was wrong. "I think my plans are changing, i have to get Chase home and i need to make sure Maggie is alright." Matt looks down at his furry companion. "What would i do if i lost you...." he says in a whisper. He shakes his head, refusing to think about having the last things in his life being taken from him. "I'm going home, i need to make sure they will be alright." After saying that he walks at a fast pace, Chase following closely behind. The children will have to wait.

Mateus seems to be in good spirits, Luke thought. Mateus had his dogs and a purpose in life. Doing something always kept the mind away from more negative topics. Caring for others, especially little kids, was certainly a good thing. With all of this craziness going around it was relieving to seesomeone willing to help out. Luke didn't have the skills necessary to do as much, but he would try to help when he could.

A Thunders kid came running up. "I'm glad I found you three. All the food at Wally World, it's gone," he said breathlessly.

"Gone? What do you mean, 'gone?'" Mateus said. "It can't just have vanished!" Deshon-body growled at the ill news. "A storm is coming, and who knows how it will end." Mateus said. "I assume you are also going to tell the other members? I would get on that, fights are going to start soon, it's best everyone is prepared." The boy nodded and ran off. "People are going to start turning on each other, and animals are going to become food.... Chase, come. I think my plans are changing, I have to get Chase home and I need to make sure Maggie is alright. I'm going home, i need to make sure they will be alright." Mateus finished, walking away at a fast pace.

Luke watched his friend hurry to his home. Animals become food? Luke glanced at Deshon-body and the leopard's royal blue eyes met his human ones. He laughed a bitter laugh. Some people might want to kill Deshon-body to eat! What they really would be killing was a part of another human being. Would that be considered cannibalism? He would put up a fight to defend both his bodies, that was for sure.

What about Deshon-body's needs, though? The cat needed to eat a lot of meat. The dreadful thought of feeding his body human crossed his mind. He shook his head, trying to dispel the terrible thought. Luke was human. The fact that one of his bodies wasn't in human shape didn't change that. Mateus was sure to have dog food. Maybe he would be willing to share some with Luke to feed Deshon-body. Luke made a face; he didn't like the idea of eating dog food. If he had to he would, but it wasn't going to be pleasant.

He said to Sera, "I have to go, too. I need to gather up some things. Do you want to come? I could use some help." He had to go back to his house before all this insanity started happening to harvest the remains of the garden. The plants weren't doing so well but Luke tended to them daily anyways. They still produced vegetables and fruit but at a slower pace. Now there wasn't any choice. There was no longer a reason to wait just that little bit longer for the food to ripen. Any food would be snatched up as soon as possible.

Luke headed towards his house. It was funny how he thought of the home he had lived in before all of this happened as his. He no longer lived there. It brought back too many painful memories. Memories of a full, complete family and a safe haven. That sort of thing didn't happen anymore anywhere. Or at least not under the dome. Was there even a world outside the dome? What if there wasn't? There wasn't any way of knowing. It was a scary thought.

Humans often only deal with what they see. If it is out of sight it is out of mind. Is that why some people are some are so unreasonalbe? Because all they see is chaos and never any order? He shifted to Deshon-body to make use of the cat's keener senses. The air was immediately brought to life with new smells and sounds. Insects and rodents scuttled about, rustling the grass. Scents of oil and garbage wafted through the air, creating an unpleasant tang.

Luke could feel his human body beside him, blind to the higher perceptions of his cat senses. He shook his head. He kept thinking of his different bodies as different beings. Humans didn't have two bodies for a reason. It was just too confusing.

He made it to his house. Shifting back to his human body he walked to the backyard and started picking the fruits of his labour. He put tomatoes, acorn squash, zucchini, lettuce, peppers, beans, and pea pods into a large bag. He didn't pick many herbs because he figured that most people wouldn't bother eating them. Most people might not even know what they were for.

Inside the house he took out a cooler bag and put the produce into it. They should stay fresher longer in there. He put some of the stash of his food stored at the house into his other bag. It would be better now to keep food close. People probably would wander more often now, looking for food. It wouldn't be surprising if they went into places they usually wouldn't.

Luke wiped the accumulated dirt off his glasses. It was extremely annoying not to be able to see without them. Contacts seemed like they would be easier a times but now he was glad he didn't rely on them. They would be too hard to take care of with all of the shortage of materials. He shifted back to Deshon-body and made his way towards the sports complex. Luke-body stored some of the food away and started carrying the rest towards the daycare. Someone needed to feed the kids and the babysitter would be too busy watching them to forage.

He padded silently on four feet, making far less noise than his other body was with two. It was kind of ironic how humans were so technologically advanced and all compared to other species yet the so called animals still were far superior with some things. He felt a stab of pain in Luke-body's foot. Glancing over, he saw that he had stubbed his foot against a lose rock. His conciousness may not be in said body, but he still felt the hurt ringing in his toes. It was wierd to be in one body but to feel the pain of the other. It had happened before, of course, but it was a sensation Luke doubted he would ever get used to.

As he arrived at the daycare Luke shifted to his human body. He knocked on the door of the nursery. Hefting the bag of food he brought, he waited for someone to come to the door. Deshon-body purred as his tail twitched in anticipation.

Trevor Art

Trevor did not linger long enough to register any change of expression on Cloche's face. He had gone about like usual, like always, without a doubt that she would follow and without a worry about turning his back on her. In this world, that was considered a sign of utmost trust. There was a rare handful of people who you could trust so well and they were nearly indiscernible from all the others who were liars, cheaters, thieves, and killers. If you turned your back to most in this world, they wouldn't hesitate to stab you. Some might think twice about it, some might consider their humanity, but these people are just children and most were hardly given a chance to decide their morality, their personal values, before all this was dropped on them. People so internally conflicted already didn't have a chance in a state like this. Their minds would deteriorate and they would pick the logical--fending for themselves. All others were considered enemies.

He was once again too wrapped up in his own little world to realize the absence of the one that was usually by his side. Perhaps the thinking was a way for him to cope with this world--a way for him to escape the tragic, horrific reality for just short bursts of time before he had to come crashing back down to deal with it again. Trevor hated this world. Hated it more than anything. And he rarely hated things. As he reached the daycare, he suddenly realized that he should focus on the situation and not so much on his own personal qualms. It was then that he realized something was off. He felt unbalanced, like he was wearing a shoe on one foot and nothing on the other while walking on a balance beam. He stared at the daycare's decaying wooden sign for a moment before the realization hit him like a brick to the face.

Cloche isn't-- ā€œT-Trevor . . . ?ā€ He suddenly turned to find her lingering much further behind than she normally ever would. Had she wandered off without him realizing it? It hadn't been that long of a walk, though. He knew he didn't space out that long. She wouldn't of had time to go anywhere or get anything. There were a few kids walking around, but none were bothering with them and he hadn't heard any issues, so he doubted she'd gotten in trouble with any of them. Was she hurt? Was she hungry?

For some reason, a spark of guilty anxiety twisted in the pit of his stomach. He felt the need to apologize, but he wasn't sure why, so he didn't, instead deciding to wait for Cloche to catch up as he stared at her unkempt expression for a long moment. There was something off, but the issue was his inability to figure out what it was. She wasn't hurt as far as he could tell and she'd been just fine only moments ago. Trevor worried that she might be catching a cold, so he reached forward and placed the back of his hand on her forehead, letting it rest there for a moment before placing it on her cheek, pulling away when he determined that she felt like a normal, healthy temperature. He opened his mouth but, as usual, nothing came out and he closed it again. He wanted to ask her if she was alright, but he found himself distracted by noise going on behind him. Glancing over his shoulder, Trevor noticed someone knocking at the door of the daycare. As with anyone else's habit, he checked the tattoo and frowned. Not a Poison. And that creature with him did not look like it was friendly, although Trevor chose to save the judging and not jump the gun on whether this guy was a bad guy.

He turned to look at Cloche again, giving her what he hoped was a reassuring smile. He didn't know what issue she was suddenly having, but he made a mental note to ask her about it when it was a better time to. The middle of the street in neutral territory with other gang members walking around, especially ones nervous about the food issue, was not the best place to have this discussion. **I'm sure he's friendly. We should go inside with him if...** Trevor paused, trying to remember the name of the boy who watched over the daycare. It hit him and he continued, hoping his pause didn't throw Cloche off. **...if Kim is inside.** He made sure to watch her more carefully this time as he went ahead to the daycare, making sure she was following within arm distance of him.

He hesitated behind the boy from the Thunders, shifting from foot to foot before tapping the boy's shoulder and taking a step back. He didn't want whatever that creature was--no doubt an embodiment of the kid's powers--to turn and attack him. Fumbling a little, Trevor quickly reached into his pocket and pulled out the small notebook, taking time to quickly scribble something on a randomly opened blank page. "Is Kim in there? We should go in together." He held the notebook up to show the boy, stepping back to Cloche's side.

Luke Corriel

As Luke waited a stream of information trickled into his head in the back of his mind from Deshon-body. The cat heard footsteps and the occasional speaking of people. Luke didn't know how far away the sounds were and he didn't care to get distracted from the current job at hand. It was much easier to get distracted with two bodies. There were two stomachs to become hungry with, two throats to become parched, two bodies that needed to be rested, and, probably most annoying of all, two bladders to empty. Especially when he was in one body and forgot the other's needs. He winced at the memory of having his point of focus being Deshon-body and Luke-body peeing his pants in front of another Thunders member. No doubt everyone in the Thunders gang knew that story by now.

Deshon-body watched people walk too and fro. A pair of people, a boy and a girl, were walking towards the daycare. One seemed to be having a problem. Luke still looked at the door, feigning unawareness. It wasn't wise to let a potential enemy know if you had an advantage. Deshon-body's keen eyes could make out the Poison tattoo as the two got closer.

Luke shifted his weight, readjusting his bag of food. It seemed heavier by the minute. When was the babysitter- Kim was his name, right?- going to answer the door? Maybe the kids were really insistent or something. But still, he should answer the door. Luke hadn't met Kim before, although he had heard about him. The babysitter was a shadow manipulator who preferred to take care of kids than join a gang. Was it safe? Yes, if he and the kids could stay alive long enough. Heck, Kim could probably form his own gang of kids if the little ones developed powers. When they grew they would probably be a pretty tight-knit group, giving them a potentially powerful future.

As the two Poisons came closer Deshon-body stopped purring. One of the Poisons, a boy, tapped Luke on the shoulder. Luke turned around and the kid fumbled around a bit before taking out a notepad and scribbling something on it. He stepped back and held up the notepad. Luke looked at the piece of paper, squinting. Could he really not read that? I need new glasses. Dang it!

He had Deshon-body look at the paper and through the cat's eyes he could read it. The paper said, "Is Kim in there? We should go in together."

Luke looked at the blonde boy and the green-eyed girl. She had real green eyes, not the yellowish ones he had. They didn't seem too threatening, so he nodded. Deshon-body began to purr again. "I don't know if Kim is in there, but I'm not against going in together. I hope he doesn't mind us barging in. I'm a little worried; I've been waiting here for at least a minute. My name is Luke, this is Deshon. You are...?" Luke trailed off, waiting for them to introduce themselves before opening the door and heading in, Deshon-body first.

Cloche Mathis

When her voice caught hold of his attention, he turned back and looked at her. It seemed there was a questioning expression upon his face, but she couldnā€™t tell from how far away from him she was at this point. It was a struggle for her to even walk toward him, to follow after as she always didā€”there was still that dull pain in her heart for some reason. She didnā€™t understand it at all, why it was she so hurt when there was no physical reason for it at all, sheā€™d not been injured and the only thing that had come to her attention was that Trevor had simply went on ahead without a momentā€™s notice of it. That was it and there was no reason for that to have hurt her, it was just an action, something he always did. Something common, something normalā€”expectant. So . . . why was this hurting her? Cloche didnā€™t know, and she still couldnā€™t comprehend the pain or the unwillingness her body seemed to have in regard to proceeding ahead.

There was no reason for this irrational, meaningless feeling. This pain, this strange hurt and weight, none of it made sense at all! Itā€™s not logical, there . . . is no reason for this at all. . . . she thought, a pained expression remained upon her face as she forced herself to him, a groan slipped from her throat. When it was that she finally made it to him, caught up with Trevor, she simply stood there with her hand still over her chest, her head still slightly downcast as he stared at the abnormal expression kept upon her features. For her to even show the slightest bit of emotion at all was unusual, for her face to twist into a fully felt expression, it had to be a strange sight to see indeed. There was indeed a questioning look on his face. . . . Oh, what had she done . . . she was making him worry when she ought not to. No reason for this, she was causing him needless strife and worry. She was loyal to him, or, she was suppose to be, she was suppose to be acting upon his will, with him without question, without causing him distress. . . .

Cloche didnā€™t speak, or say anything. She only would if he questioned her, or asked anything. . . . Trevor did move his hand, and of course, she expected him to sign, to ask her what was wrong before anything else. That was what made the most sense, what was logical to assume. However, when it was that he placed the back of his hand on her forehead, her too-green eyes went wide with surprise. This wasnā€™t what she expected to happen. Her eyes remained wide, as she remained quiet while it was his hand moved from her forehead down to her cheek before he pulled it away. Cloche could only stare at him with uncertainty in her eyes, and on her face as her eyes remained ever-wide. Her thoughts had stopped, and the pain she felt remained yet was worn down to the point that it was no longer so attention taking.

Trevor opened his mouth, as if he were going to try to speak, before it was he simply shut it again, remembering that no words would come it seemed. He wanted to speak, but he couldnā€™t. This was something Cloche had come to learn about him since sheā€™d more or less attached herself to his side, Trevor did want to be able to speak, enough so that he sometimes seemed to forget he was mute, so heā€™d open his mouth to speak, but remember that no sound would form, so he always stopped. Her loyalty to him, her reason for it, it formed from a shallow occurrence, something pointless and insignificant, but even if that were so, that did not stop Cloche from observing him and learning of his personality and traits. . . . Even if she were to blindly follow him, even if she did not think much for herself anymore, if at all, that hadnā€™t stopped Cloche from knowing about Trevor.

She had every reason to follow him, to give him her unyielding loyalty, and yet why it was sheā€™d felt pain before, she just didnā€™t understand it. Trevor definitely seemed like he didnā€™t understand either.

Before it was that he could sign anything to her though, Trevor became distracted by a noise that came from behind himā€”the Daycare. When he turned around to look, Clocheā€™s eyes followed, as she had no need to turn around since she was facing that direction to begin with. It had been a knock, there stood at the door of the facility a teenage boy like themselves, along with what Cloche knew as a snow leopard. Not a native species, it is too calm and relaxed to be wild . . . or even domesticated. Clocheā€™s eyes happened upon the boyā€™s tattoo. She recognized itā€”and she knew he was not of the Poisons. The Thunders. That was what he marked as with his tattoo. Of course, those did nothing but mark a person. . . . It did nothing to speak of the individual in question.

Trevor looked to her again, and her eyes glanced back at him. He was giving her what she recognized as a reassuring smile. He meant that to comfort her, because of the state sheā€™d been in before, the dull pain that had ticked away at her heart, the unwillingness thatā€™d travelled through her body for whatever the reason. It was mostly gone now, the pain had subsided enough to no longer consume her conscious thought, and it felt as if the unwillingness from before was gone as well. Trevor had shown concern for her, and still was, Cloche knew what it was that heā€™d been doing by setting his hand on her forehead, checking her for a fever. . . . He began to sign, and Cloche paid attention to it. **Iā€™m . . . heā€™s friendly. . . . should go . . . with him if. . . .** He ceased, and she glanced up at him and it seemed he was focusing on trying to remember something. **. . . if Kim is inside.** he finished. Trevor moved again, but he kept an eye on her it seemed . . . looking back at her often enough, keeping her within armā€™s length as she followed along.

Trevor was right to want to go inside with this Thunders boy, and his not-so-normal snow leopard. So long as Kim was inside, of course. So, Cloche stayed in step with him, holding from her mind much thought. Heā€™d been worried about her, and still she didnā€™t understand the reason why sheā€™d felt the pain before.

She stopped moving when it was Trevor had, Cloche kept her eyes on him as it was he shifted from foot to foot, hesitating in greeting the black-haired boy and his snow leopard. She kept herself quiet and still as it was he tapped the boy on his shoulder before stepping back a bit, pulling his notepad out to write on. Clocheā€™s eyes caught the message. ā€œIs Kim in there? We should go in together.ā€ He held the notepad up, as he stepped back to her side. The way the boy reacted to Trevor getting his attention . . . seemed almost as if he were privy to their presence prior to that, or at least, thatā€™s what Cloche could gather. The boy seemed to be squinting at what it was Trevor had written down, he couldnā€™t read it.
Yet, when it was he managed to respond, looking at herself and Trevor, and nodded as the snow leopard began to purr, Cloche thought it somewhat odd. ā€œI donā€™t know if Kim is in there, but Iā€™m not against going in together. I hope he doesnā€™t mind us barging in. Iā€™m a little worried; Iā€™ve been waiting here for at least a minute. My name is Luke, this is Deshon. You are...?ā€ he questioned, waiting for their responses, opening the door as it was the feline, Deshon, as it was called, headed into the daycare first.

Looking to Trevor, her eyes carrying a glint of questioning, Cloche took it upon herself to answer Lukeā€™s question for their names. He knew they were of the Poisons; they carried their tattoos as he did with his Thunderā€™s. ā€œHe is Trevor, and I am Cloche.ā€ Her voice was monotonous, without much hint of anything in it. Her green eyes travelled down to the bad Luke was carrying before they went back up to his face, her eyelids lowered a bit, and a grave edge took hold of her expression again. ā€œHave you come here to inquire about the state in which those within the daycare are in?ā€ Clocheā€™s hand found its way to her wrist, before it moved up her forearm.

She didnā€™t notice it as it happened, but her pinky finger managed to snag the end of her sleeve, pulling it up along her arm as her hand went, revealing the gauze and bandages that encased her arm like a second skin. Upon their white surfaces though, were stains of a dark, and dull greyā€”bearing a sheen to it that almost made it so that it could be called silver.

Trevor Art

Whatever qualms were getting to Cloche seemed to subside for the time being so Trevor allowed himself to relax until he got a chance to "speak" with her about it, in the only ways he really knew how. It was frustrating not being able to speak or use his voice like any other could do. He found it ridiculous that there were people in the world that could talk so easily that they were able to talk even in their sleep. There were people who had beautiful voices--and not just those for singing. There were people who could speak so perfectly, so eloquently, that he could sit and listen to them for hours even if they were giving a speech on something he didn't have any prior knowledge about. Of course, he felt nearly the same for average speakers too. The human voice fascinated him. People could speak from one to another without having to think about it or question the sounds coming out of their mouths, they could sneeze with actual vocals other than the "-choos" that he did just because he was blowing air through his teeth, and they could even laugh like it was nothing. These were things he was unable to do. And it was frustrating, but he dealt with it because it was a simple fact. Most people could speak and he could not and that was the end of it.

Satisfied that Cloche was well enough to stand at his side and did not seem to be having any further issues, Trevor focused on the boy he'd been communicating with, frowning a little when he saw the boy squint. Trevor was concerned that the boy's vision wasn't good enough to read his handwriting, but eventually a small spark of clarity reached the boy's eyes and he straightened up to reply. "I don't know if Kim is in there, but I'm not against going in together. I hope he doesn't mind us barging in. I'm a little worried; I've been waiting here for at least a minute. My name is Luke, this is Deshon. You are...?" He was nice and that was relieving in a time like this. However...he hesitated in reply. He considered writing his name on the paper under his first thing, but he didn't want to make the guy, Luke he said his name was, struggle any more than necessary. His name wasn't that important to know anyway, so maybe he could get away with not mentioning it..

Trevor liked meeting new people for the simple matter that he knew for a fact that they weren't aware of his muteness. At least not for those first few seconds. They treated him like any other normal, vocal human being and the idea of someone actually expecting him to respond was more than refreshing. It always made him overwhelmingly happy, even though he knew that was probably a little ridiculous. Just because someone was talking to him, it wasn't a good reason to get all excited over. The excitement was almost good enough to ignore the feeling of distress when he realized he had to disappoint them by not giving them the reply they expected. He always made everything so complicated.

So, as per usual, Trevor took the back seat and allowed Cloche to respond for him. ā€œHe is Trevor, and I am Cloche.ā€ Trevor gave a shy nod, although it was a little unnatural for him to not be such a people person. He decided to chalk it off to the large animal standing within reaching distance of him. He wouldn't go so far to say it frightened him, but it was definitely intimidating. He felt like it could reach and snap his neck before he'd ever even think about using his powers against it. ...Then again, he was probably being too harsh. Luke seemed nice and he was obviously here for the Daycare, so Trevor mentally scolded himself and waited for Cloche to continue. ā€œHave you come here to inquire about the state in which those within the daycare are in?ā€

He watched as she, seemingly subconsciously, moved up the sleeve of her shirt to reveal some of the abnormalities she carried. This movement confused him, but he decided there was probably no point in going out of his way to question her about it, especially when her focus was on Luke. While waiting for Luke to reply, Trevor hung back to kneel down and write another thing on his notebook page. When he was satisfied with the way it was worded, he stood and took his place next to Cloche once again, holding up the notebook for the Thunder to see. He tried to write it in larger print this time around, but he didn't want to waste the entire page. He hoped it didn't make him mad. "I don't think the kids would like seeing Deyshawn. It might scare them." To emphasize his point, Trevor held the notebook up with one hand and used his other hand to make a clawing motion, chomping his teeth in unison. He smiled a little when he finished, hoping he got his point across.
