Pirates of Black Port

Pirates of Black Port

0 INK

Pirates wanted… dead or alive. Raise hell upon the seas or guard them for your liege. Stave your opposition off… or find comfort in the ocean’s embrace. Fear not the raging roar of cannons… for they are your life blood and trade.

4,769 readers have visited Pirates of Black Port since TheRavenandThePawn created it.

Introduction

(Theme Music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_8dtWrR ... 5&index=22 )

The only sanctuary to pirates the City of Black port a ruthless and gruesome abode. Filled with miscreants, criminals, sailors, and the most fearsome of pirates. One can sell their own soul here for a silver only to find it for ten steel… tis a place where the poor can become rich and rich become poor with in hours time. Tis also the place to find a proper vessel to sail under as you perform your duty to your captain or crew.

Shall you rise with the cutlass and dagger in hand face off against navies and mercenaries fight off knights and beasts to earn your keep? Or will you feel the scorn of the great lady ocean? Will you stand proud on board a salt washed deck watching as your foes sink before your eyes. Will you rise above your counterparts and rise to glory?

Or will you take the path of the rapier and saber against the fell deeds of piracy. Stand with the fleets of emperors and stave off villainy. Shall you become a hero to your people or shall you be given to the sea in which you served upon in wooden pride? Rise for the land of Dophia or maybe stand with the Black Jet Empire… will you rise with your fellow marine and sailor? Shall you triumph… or shall you be mourned… if that.

Black Port Pirates.

Cutlass
Saber
One shot pistol. (Are made to fire one bullet and only one bullet.)
Crew
Bows (and Arrows)
Staffs
Daggers
Spears

Ships. (Pirates can modify their ships)
Angel of the West. These speed based vessels can support ten cannons on each side while capable of outrunning most ships they are very lightly armored and thin. Easily capsizes but capable of taking minimum damage while fleeing.

Fist of the Fell. A heavy warship which holds three masks and over thirty cannons. Heavily armored and covered in defensive positions this ship is easily the best ship for brute strength under pirate control.

Shackles of the Impure. A specially designed blockade runner. Built so most of its hull is under water allowing it to easily slip through larger ships. Armed with only one small cannon on its roof its sole-purpose in combat is to sneak up on enemy warships and puncture their lower hulls with a close range cannon burst.

Lord of the Brine. A Capital ship used only by pirate lords. Fast enough to out run naval interceptors but armed well enough to defeat enemy warships. Housing eighty cannons moderately armored its armed with two harpoon guns and a catapult which is used to lob jars of Greek fire onto enemy decks to clear them before boarding.

Humanic Empire. Colors White and Blue

Basic Weapons
Officers
Rapier
Reloadable one shot pistol.
Breast plate
Crew
Saber
Spears
Halberd
Shields
Chain mail

Ships
Hand of the Heavens. A fast interceptor ship capable of running down most vessels. Slower then Angels of the West but much more deadly. Armed with twenty cannons on each side this war vessel is moderately armored and more then capable of out maneuvering combat vessels.

Tear of the Saint. A warship armed with sixty cannons total. Heavily armored but still fast enough to catch other warships this ship maneuvers slowly but is armed with a battering spike on its bow for shattering through enemy hulls.

Sinner Among Saints. The Capital ships of the Humanic Empire. Armed with over a hundred and twenty cannons in total this hulking warship is slow but powerful. Capable of overpowering all but the best captains with pure brute strength and board ships with its massive crew.

The Black Jet Empire

Basic Weapons.
Captain
Greatsword
Fullplate
Whip
Longsword

Crew
Longsword
Warhammer
Battle axe
War axe
Maul
Spears
Chain mail
Halfplate
Musket rifle.

Ships
Dissention. A light ship used as an interceptor. Housing sixty cannons and metal plating this heavy ship is the fastest and lightest ships the Black Jet Empire uses. Capable of holding of a Tear of the Saint with ease.

Obelisk of the Hammer. These massive ships are armed with a single small cannon based atop a giant towering bladed bow. Set with heavy metal plates that deflect most cannon fire the only vulnerable places on these juggernauts are their decks and the submerged hull. Steam powered with the use of oars and masks this ship can pick up high speeds in a straight line leveling anything and everything in its way. Used for transporting armies these ships tear apart enemy lines with ease until boarded or struck with a lucky cannonball.

Obelisk of the Gods. These capital ships are much like their lesser visions of the Obelisk of the Hammer. Though these ships don’t have hulking bows instead a flat platform armed with a massive cannon replaces the cutting edge of their lesser forms. Still made for ramming its main cannon can fire over twenty full sized cannonballs at once. Ripping apart enemy ships at such rates it isn’t funny. Though do to its weight the bow of the ship is lightly armored compared to the rest of the heavily armored ship. Also lower decks give my chance to strike at the wooden decks which are so vulnerable.

You may make your own ships just ask me first, but keep these plans in mind when making them. As they say a lot about how each faction builds their ships. Pirates speed and utility, The Humanic Empire Balanced, and the Black Jet Empire Defense and Ramming.

There may only be two captains for each faction unless you give me a really good reason/idea that I should allow more.

Only one admiral per faction… only admirals are allowed Capital ships. They require a very good history and Humanic Empire Admirals require thirty years of service to the navy, you may join at twelve. Black Jet Empire admirals require twenty years of service you may join at the age of eight. Pirate lords (equivalent of admirals) must be in their twenties or older otherwise no one would follow them.

Races. (These are the base races, you may play as anything you want… for creating physical descriptions of my races just ask if you need help.)

A fully corrupted is capable of ripping through armor and solid stone with bare hands.

Scarlet listened attentively to the words of the god, letting them sink in. So it seemed a great disaster was on the horizon. Lord Orion would... die? Araka... she'd heard that name before, though she could not quite place it at present. Still, if she gave it enough thought, she was almost certain it would make sense. The last statement, she was truly surprised by, or at least the fragment of it that made it to her ears.

Then, though, the room changed. Scarlet felt it as a heightening of the half-feral instinct that separated her kind from Plains-dwellers, the same instinct that kicked in in the midst of a true battle. The scent of roses filled her nose, and she at once knew in whose presence she would soon be standing. Dropping to one knee, the proud captain bowed her head in a show of reverence. She had been raised the daughter of the Goddess's High Priestess, after all, and some things didn't just leave you.

The news, carried as it was in a sweet, musical tone, slammed Scarlet like a brick wall. Her family... her clan, all of them... dead? Her mother and father and sisters were truly gone? It had been so long since she saw them last, yet it had always been her intention to see them again one day, when she could walk the hallowed wooded groves once more with nothing but acceptance for both halves of her soul- the one she left there, on the isle, and the one that had always been at sea.

Now, though... Inhaling deeply, Scarlet rose, facing her patron with sorrowed but clear gaze. "I... thank you for telling me. If I might know: by whose hand were they slain?" Revenge was no longer something the pirate would ever allow to consume her, but all the same, she would know the names of those who had ripped that part of her life from her. Even if only Shiara had ever forgiven her for leaving, that did not mean she cared for them any less than she might have otherwise.

"Be it connected to what you speak of, then I need no further thought on the subject, and I will answer your tidings with everything I have. Sirius here speaks for himself, as do all members of my crew, but mine own heart needs no more convincing than that." She would not refuse to take up arms against this threat if it had already proven itself capable of killing an entire clan without hesitation.

“A joint force of several Humanic lords… they joined forces to lay waste to your tribe. It is… a sad day when such cretins rise together to attack my children but can not be bothered to defend their own seas.” The Wolf Goddess sighed lowering her head. “This world is changing for the worse…”

Talcor’s great eye remained constant on Scarlet. “We will remember your promise… maybe there is hope for the masses of the city known as Black Port… for Hell itself is about to become more desirable then the cease pool of the sea.”

"Far be it from me to refuse a quest from the gods," Sirius quipped before looking over at Scarlet, his gaze softening. He couldn't imagine what she was feeling. His own mother, he knew, was always safe in an out of the way port to the north of Black Port. He'd have to talk to her later, see if she was okay. He turned to address both Scarlet and the gods, "Kate, you're not getting rid of me that easily. Whatever you get yourself into, I'd follow."

He didn't understand the god's warning entirely, but he understood enough. Lord Orion would die and a false king would rise in the Humanic Empire. There would be suffering and Scarlet was asked to combat it. And if she was fighting something, he'd fight at her side. He glanced at Talcor and he had a feeling that the god saw what was in his heart, what he was starting to feel for his captain. It was strange. He felt vulnerable, but oddly comforted under his patron deity's gaze.

"Then you're even less sane than I," Scarlet quipped, glancing to the side before turning back to the gods. Truly, though, it was a comfort to know that he'd still be there. They'd made it here, somehow, through a great number of obstacles, but she had a feeling the worst of what they'd encountered would soon pale in comparison to what they faced, and... she'd need him, then. She could admit that much, if only to herself.

"...I see," she replied at length to the mother of her race. "If the world truly is falling to ruin, then I will do whatever I can to keep it from that, or, barring that, to restore it afterwards." And how could she do otherwise? What kind of world was it where hate could provoke wholesale slaughter? Not one she wished to live in. Conflict was part of life, she knew that, but not when it took the lives of those who had never done anything to invite it aside from simply existing. Certainly, her people were just as capable of being belligerent as the next, but so too were there those amongst them who would never harm another living soul.

Scarlet recalled the pile of letters in one of her desk drawers, and her jaw clenched involuntarily. Shiara. Shaking her head, she spoke once more. "What would you have us do, then?" Whatever it was, she would accept it. There was simply no other choice.

Thus the story came to an end… as great events stopped for a good deal of time. Though this book is yet not closed… Its path yet fully told. Though for now time speeds by in a flash… as the world prepares for a great shift six years later.

To Scarlet over the years she followed in Black Toms rise of fame becoming one of the most honored Lords at Orion’s Table. At one point the Pirate lord known as Mister Zithar proposed to her whether she accepted or not is uncertain…

To Sirius their came a great change the Dread lord Zakia seemed to see something coming with this strange glance to eternity he offered Sirius the only man to ever best him at a Trial of Blood his ship when he was no longer its captain. Also within time’s passing Morgana grew board of pursuing him and ceased.

To Oran his persistence came to an end when the sorceress finally gave in.

To Jonah his life would be untouched by any large events.

To Crow within the twisting Citadel he would come across a strange gem stone… though in truth the stone was a fallen star its power immense enough to grant a single wish… a wish that would be possible naturally.

To Sarra from the Cleric known as Alexei she would learn from skilled hands both mundane healing skills and magical spells such as the one to block out all magic within an area.

To Stefan he would find a strange disk in his pocket upon leaving the isle. With it luck seemed ever bounding around him… though those around him seemed less lucky then before. (It drains other people’s luck and gives it to you.)

(Got it.)

"To Sirius their came a great change the Dread lord Zakia seemed to see something coming with this strange glance to eternity he offered Sirius the only man to ever best him at a Trial of Blood his ship when he was no longer its captain. Also within time’s passing Morgana grew board of pursuing him and ceased."

Sirius was rather surprised to be offered a great ship of a Pirate Lord. At last, at Scarlet's behest, he took it, but not before commenting about Mister Zithar's rumored promiscuity and possible diseases. He was well and truly cursed by the goddess, Zale. He would love Scarlet forever, no matter what, an irony for one who drifted through the sea freely, but not an unwelcome one.

"To Jonah his life would be untouched by any large events."

And he was quite happy about it. Adventures were for young men, anyway. In the end, he died a peaceful death surrounded by friends, old and new, but not before he left a few legacies behind to help young Sirius and Scarlet.

"To Oran his persistence came to an end when the sorceress finally gave in."

And, thus, he wondered drunkenly through ports and ships, getting into mischief. Luck seemed to favor fools such as he.

To Scarlet over the years she followed in Black Tom's rise of fame becoming one of the most honored Lords at Orion’s Table. At one point the Pirate lord known as Mister Zithar proposed to her whether she accepted or not is uncertain…

Truth be told, she was as surprised as the next person at her success, and in the honesty of conversation between friends she attributed her success in all directions save her own. She credited the Goddess, Tom'enerin's teaching, Captain Cameron, even, sometimes and with great embarrassment, her former first mate. When he was offered his own ship, she encouraged him to take it. He deserved one, though she would miss his lighthearted presence and solid sword-arm at her side. But what right had she to keep him for such a silly reason as that?

Mister Zithar proved to be most charming and persistent both, and it became something of a running joke amongst the lords, though she was polite in her refusal each time. She was far from ready for such a commitment, and something held her back. She had a feeling she knew what, but she would not admit it to herself. Still, the two of them remained friends and allies among pirates.

Never once did she forget her vow to the gods, and to this day she waits in solemn patience for the day she is called upon to fulfill it. Her crew remains one of the most disciplined and feared on the seas, though they are no danger to any but those who would attack them.

To Crow within the twisting Citadel he would come across a strange gem stone… though in truth the stone was a fallen star its power immense enough to grant a single wish… a wish that would be possible naturally.

Crow, as it turned out, wished for the power to protect those dear to him, no matter the situation. It is unknown exactly how this was given him, but none that he considered friend died in his company within the next six years. He was made first mate after Sirius departed, and has served faithfully without ambition since.

To Sarra from the Cleric known as Alexei she would learn from skilled hands both mundane healing skills and magical spells such as the one to block out all magic within an area.

Though the years altered Sarra dramatically in terms of appearance, they never did manage to dull the bright smile that remained her defining trait. As Alexei's apprentice, she honed her skills aboard the Nightfall, becoming alongside her teacher a respected, valuable healer.

To Stefan he would find a strange disk in his pocket upon leaving the isle. With it luck seemed ever bounding around him… though those around him seemed less lucky then before.

Stefan, being the kind who'd never had a stroke of luck in his life, was surprised when that seemed to change, and quickly identified the cause. He had no qualms keeping the token with him aboard the ship (for he cared not if someone tripped) but he was careful to leave it aboard when the crew disembarked in search of treasure.

Yes I will be putting a new role-play up soon I will have a link in here when I do. However Sirius isn't a Pirate Lord he only inherited Zakia's ship after he was executed and by the time you could even be given the position Orion was slain... so by tradition your not a lord.

Awesome. I'm looking forward to it. Do you have all these events and storylines planned out ahead of time, Raven, or do you just make it up as you go?

Also, just as a random question: what happened to the Typhoon? Did they just leave it there, or did someone take it?

For this… generally I make it up as I go.

That would be up to you, Typhoon is practically weightless when being carried but if anyone that isn't a cleric of Talcor attempts to wield it in combat it becomes to heavy to use properly.
