The Prince of the Sky Kingdom was forced to go to the same Masquerade ball. Having good looks, there were many girls who flirted with him. But he was not that kind of guy. The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 2 authors
Kale looked over at the dead centipede. "What do you think this thing is?" He asked. "I've never seen anything like it... But it looks like something like the rumors in the Dire Woods. But we're miles from there. Even if something like this exists there normally, why would it come here?" He wondered aloud. "I thought I'd heard once that there was a reason monsters never left the Dire Woods..." He wondered what exactly was going on.
After a moment of thought, he decided it was something to figure out later. "C'mon, why don't we go and find those blasted horses, and then we can see about finding a town, and getting a bath." He chuckled.

" Kale, were you nervous a while ago? When the centipede was attacking us? " Anne asked him, wanting to know his thought while they were fighting moments ago. " I was terrified by the thing. I even thought that it would kill me. And it's my first time to fight like that. My adrenaline suddenly got the best of me that time " she added.
"But it's over now. It's dead. Now we just have to figure out where it came from." He paused. "And if there are more..." He hoped with all his hear there weren't. "But really what's the chance that there are more of those? One was more than enough."
He looked around. He glanced at the centipede and shivered at it's limps twitching. "Erm, why don't we go and find those blasted horses, and then maybe we can find a lake like you said. It might not be a good idea to go to a town, we'd risk being recognized." He noted aloud, remembering what Anne had said just a few seconds before.
He noted with slight annoyance that the birds were chirping happily in the trees. He wondered how they could just act like nothing had happened after the monster had been slain. Kale also noticed that the forest seemed... happier. As if the mere fact that the bug had been alive was what had made it appear so sinister before.
Thinking of the horses again, he glanced over where he had last seen them. On the ground a trail of hoof prints lead into the woods. He noted the way the horses' hooves had dug into the earth. They had obviously been very frantic to get away. He figured they would have a hard time calming them. What with the fact that the two of them were covered in bug guts, and that they had almost been eaten by a giant insect. He couldn't really blame them. Normal sized bugs scared a lot of people.
"Well we can start with their tracks." Kale could only hope they would indeed find their horses. If they didn't than all of their supplies, their food, their blankets, their, money... It was all gone.

" What do you say about that? " Anne asked Kale, feeling so pumped up to find the lake. She won't mind the long walk to the lake or to finding their horses, she just wanted to make sure that she will take a bath.
The weight of the forest seemed lighter. There was even a deer that walked by her side for a while, and she chuckled that they can even recognize her. There were also birds passing by over their heads. Maybe they were all just hiding from the giant insect. And that they were thanking them for slaying it. She was also happy now, their first obstacle has been taken care of, and now she was with Kale. Shyly, she took his hand and laced it with her own. She felt her cheeks suddenly heating up.

Simply in love with the idea of a lakeside bath, he lead her on the trail of hoof prints. As time lapsed on, all he heard was his footsteps, and Anne's beside him. he wondered if this was really all going to work out. He couldn't stand the thought of them being captured and returned to their kingdoms. He sighed, and tried not to think about it.
Soon he noted that the tracks were becoming... calmer? The horses' hooves hadn't dug as deeply into the earth. It seemed they were less panicked. He nodded to himself, thinking they had to be close.
All too soon he heard the sounds of waterbirds, and could feel the moisture in the air. "I think we're close." He said quietly. He peered through the trees, seeing flashes of bright blue. A whinny in the distance told him he not only found the lake, but the horses had lead them true. He grinned, and pulled Anne along behind him as he ran to the water.
he looked around, in awe at the sparkling lake. He was tempted to just jump right in. After only slight hesitation, he released Anne's hand, and did exactly that. The cool rush of water surrounded him, and muffled all noise. He jumped up, soaked to the skin. Kale couldn't help but think that he never would've done this a week ago.
"Come on in!" He called happily. "The water's great!" He had to admit it was a little chilly, but he didn't care. "I suppose I could've taken some measures to keep my clothes dry..." He said, looking down at his garments with disdain. He shrugged, and waved her towards him.

" The water is freezing! It's colder than I expected! " Anne exclaimed once beside Kale, but she was smiling. She didn't feel filthy anymore. She was actually happy and satisfied. Their horses seemed to be having fun either. " I haven't had much fun like this before. " Anne muttered, as if in a trance of happiness. She saw the fishes pass by her due to the clear water of the lake.
" Tell me if you want to leave alright? " Anne told Kale. Looking up at the sky, she knew it was bound to rain soon. But right now, she just had to take a swim peacefully.

He thought to himself that he would never have been able to do something like this before... The smile on his face only grew. He felt so... free, so able to do anything he could ever want. He wondered why people always so wanted to be royalty. Girls wanted to be princesses, boys wanted to be princes. Their parents though that if they could be the king and queen the world would be a better place. They had no idea. They thought that happiness would come from power, and high status. When true happiness was in freedom. And royals had anything but freedom.
He let himself just float in the water for a minute, before getting a sly smile of his face. He imagined getting into a water flight with her. He thought all it would take was one good splash in the face, as it was on. But he didn't want to start one if she didn't want to. He glanced over at Anne, seeing her look up at the sky. He looked up too. the sky was darkening, clouds gathered ominously, forecasting rain.
"Looks like it'll rain soon." He said quietly. "Oh well, can't get much more wet than we already are, can we?" He chuckled. Kale couldn't help but let his eyes wander back to Anne. She looked quite attractive in her camisole. He mentally told himself to shut up.
Kale drifted towards the more shallow part of the lake, and let his hands sink into the soft grains of sand. He felt something hard, and cold. Curious, he picked it up, letting the sand slowly fall to the sea floor. It was a ruby. Interesting... HE thought,. It was about the size two off his thumbs combined. "Curious..." He mumbled. "Hey Anne... What do you think of this?" He asked, standing up, and walking through the water towards her.
{{OOC: Sorry if I shouldn't, but I'm gonna try and kinda get us started on an adventure, and a side plot. Just so we have a direction to go, a mission to complete, and more challenges than just the fact that they're running from the kingddoms. :)}}

" Did you think someone dropped it? Or do you think it has been here for a long time already? " Anne asked Kale, feeling nervous.
All she wanted was a time of relaxation, even just for a while. But it can't be helped. They were running from their kingdoms, and from their destinies. She took a breath and faced Kale again. " I guess we should keep going now " she told him with a slight smile. She walked out of the lake and wrung her wet hair. Her camisole was stuck to her body, and she had to pull the cloth so that it would at least be free from her skin.
" Tell me if you're ready to go " she added.
