Once Upon a Time

An ancient war that preceeds the lifespan of modern times. One of darkness and light, of divinity and sacred freedom. Prometheus, the Titan that gifted humans fire with aim to have the Goddess ascend to rule over the pigs that clearly are unable to rule for themselves. These humans were given fire and instead of creating something greater, they kill each other meaninglessly. What better to do then to summon a Goddess to fix the wrongs of humanity and set the world on the rightful path yet again?

But at what cost?

A Prophecy, with a certain year. A Prophecy, passed down by an ancient family for generations before being handed to its current bearer through sheer chance. Whether to ascend the Goddess or lock her away for eternity, one must possess the Prophecy.

The Reign of Ira Shoku

A spawn of Prometheus, Ira Shoku, now leads Japan with his mighty fist. He controls all as the country's Emperor, and his goal seems to be the destruction of all that is light. A betrayer of Prometheus, his dream of once wishing to save the girl destined to be the Goddess has since been twisted by the darkness of his ambitions. With the cursed Hemond children as his right and left hands, and what's left of his faction of Prometheus serving his mighty Empire, Shoku destroys for the sake of destruction, searching for a meaning he no longer remembers.

It all seemed over. He had the Girl of Destiny under his thumb, he had the prophecy waiting to be deciphered, and the resistance against his power - Hime's Freedom Fighters, his exwife's HIVE, and the scattered gangs of what used to be Tsukasa's Yakuza, all too busy squabbling amongst each other to mount a real rebellion against him. But in a single instant, the tides turned. His own daughter vowed to free both the Hemonds and the Prophecy - but despite being caught yet and her having her plans foiled, the book of destiny has gone missing and it was anyone's guess as to who may possess it now.

His plan cannot proceed without it, and with this, a new opening has shown itself. If those who fight for the light wish to change the course of fate, now is the time to act.

Yui giggled, the two of them sure were silly! The trio made their way to Ally's door in order to listen in, it seemed as though Luna was going to be dressed as a bat for Halloween. Ooh, but what about Yui and Ren! What were they going as? It was hard to keep her excitement contained, she couldn't wait to learn all about and celebrate Halloween! What began as an innocent spying adventure suddenly took a dark turn, as it was revealed that Minako was missing. A small gasp escaped her lips, the child's heart squeezing painfully. There it was again, that awful feeling that crept up on her out of nowhere. The door suddenly opened, the three children who were leaning against it, went tumbling inside.

"Owww," Yui moaned, sitting up and rubbing her head. "What do you three think you're doing?" Ally inquired, attempting to look cross when in truth, she was more entertained than anything. "We were playing spies!" Yui piped up, sitting upright. Ally sighed, kneeling down. She helped Luna and Ren sit up, checking them over for injuries. "It's not nice to spy on people guys, Luna and Ren, I expect you two to know better." She ruffled their hair, "as the Goddess's guideposts, you're supposed to help her make good decisions. Of course, you can play and act silly as well, but spying on people is an invasion of privacy and should only be done when absolutely necessary. Now come try your costumes on, I suppose since you three ruined the surprise, the least you can do is try them on."

Yui stood up, brushing herself off. "What kind of Halloween things are we gonna do?" It was only the first of October today, so there was plenty of time to fit in fall activities. "Well, tomorrow, I'm going to teach you all about Halloween and it's historical significance." Which meant school, but Yui was fine with that. Ren on the other hand, groaned loudly, not wanting to sit through more lessons when there were more, fun things he could be doing. Xavier laughed, recalling the lessons he had gotten to go through. "Don't worry, we've planned some fun things so you're not bored out of your mind." He ruffled Ren's hair, presenting the costume to try on. "What is it?" Ren asked as he stripped down to his boxers, allowing Xavier to assist him into it. "That's a surprise."

"We're do some fall activities, we'll go on a hike, we'll make hot chocolate and roast smores over an open fire, we'll tell spooky stories, and have a costume party, and-oh, but I don't want to ruin the surprises!" Ally had gone, ticking things off on her fingers and nearly ruining all of the surprises. Yui giggled, "What am I gonna be dressed as?" But Ally only held a finger up to her lips as she set up a privacy curtain for Luna to get changed behind. Ally brought out pieces of a costume, but it didn't seem as though it were whole yet. "I'm still working on it," she promised, helping Yui into it.

As fear and panic was worsening in the pit of her stomach for Minako's safety, the door flung open to knock the three children back. Ally stepped out, glaring down at them from up above, hands on her hips as she stared them down. They were in trouble, they were being reprimanded! "But Ronan told us to spy." Ren defended himself defiantly, which in a way was true. "No he - well, he did but it's not like that!" Luna scowled, unhappy that Ronan was thrown under the bus. "You should defend his honor if you really love him." Ren grinned cruelly at her so Luna became flustered once again. "I - I don't!" But the pinkette really wasn't fooling anyone here.

As punishment for the crime of eavesdropping through the door, the kids were dragged into the room for some costume testing. "Here you go, batgirl." Xavier smirked at her and Luna gave him her best defiant stare until Ally set up the privacy curtain for her to change behind. "If you ever want us to treat you like a grown up, you gotta show us you deserve it." Luna wriggled and looked down. "I don't mind being treated like a kid." Was it weird that it felt nice, even normal, to her? Xavier's crooked grin softened a degree and he nodded. "Whatever makes you happy... kid." Luna retreated behind the privacy curtain and put on her bat costume. Unlike most of Allyana's creations it was actually rather simple for a costume, but Luna very much enjoyed the wings built into the folds of the cape. The costume was effective even with the relatively simple look. Beneath the bat cape she was given a simplistic black dress to wear, with furry socks as the bat's feet.

Luna came dashing out, twirling and hopping, flapping her wings because of how fun the cape felt draped around her. With the hood over her head, maybe she even looked a bit, well... "Don't look at me like I'm crazy!" Luna flapped her wings defiantly at Xavier who tried to grab her to make her hold still for Ally to examine. "No one said anything about crazy, now stop moving!" He reached but missed and landed on the floor. "Are you calling me batty? I'm perfectly sane!" She giggled and she almost wanted to give someone a high five but that person wasn't there so she would have to save this for the afterlife and then tell him.

Allyana rolled her eyes and Xavier seemed to flinch and then grimace. "Luna, I need to check the measurements to make sure they're okay. Can you stop jumping around now?" Luna shook her head with a silly grin. "I'm not jumping around! I'm doing aerobatics!" For some reason giving her the bat cape made her remember just how much she wanted to fly again. The sky was calling for her, if only she wasn't inside right now she could hop on a cloud and soar. "What's going on? She never made puns before." Xavier questioned Yui and Ren for help. "Argh! Luna, give up! You.... you suck!"

Well, he made a pun so Luna decided to give him mercy and she stopped struggling. "Okay pun, but you need more practice, Xav." She told him and Xavier groaned, moving aside for Ally to check the measurements and seams and everything else.

If they wanted to be treated like adults they had to act like they were? Yui wasn't an adult though, she was only... how old was she again? "Ally, how old am I?" Yui asked as her big sister helped her into the rough draft of her costume. "You're fifteen Yui," Ally laughed, ruffling her hair. "The anniversary of the day Aria found you is coming up," Xavier added, having it marked on his holo. "Since Ronan doesn't know your birthday and Raven doesn't seem keen to share the files her Father had on you, we'll just say that's your birthday." In a way, it was; considering Loretta was technically dead and Yui was born the day that Aria found her. "It's too bad she can't be here to celebrate with us. We have Luna now though, so that's alright." Even with Luna, there was something about Aria that Yui missed.

Perhaps it was her fiery nature, or ability to sing a song in any situation, but Yui missed the idol. "There," Ally stepped aside so that Yui could see her costume in the mirror. "I love it!" She squeaked, doing a twirl. Yui was adorned in the attire of a witch, something she had never expected to wear. "I wanted to stick with classic Halloween costumes, since it's your first one and all." Ally grinned, admiring her handiwork. It was around then that Luna emerged from behind her privacy curtain, bouncing around like a bat out of Hell. Yui giggled, watching her friend zip around the space, flapping her wings as though they were real. "It looks really good on you!" Yui said once they had at last gotten Luna to hold still.

"It's a little simple," Ally shook her head, wondering what she was thinking. "But if you like it, I can finish it up. If you want, I can add a belt or something cute?" Ren screamed, catching sight of himself in the mirror. "What is this!?" Yui turned and giggled, catching a glimpse of his boyish costume. It was clearly a vampire, judging by the rosary hung around his head. "Why is it so girly?" Ren groaned, attempting to pull one of the frills off. Xavier grabbed his arm, preventing him from ruining Ally's hard work. "Remember guys, these are just rough drafts. They'll look much better once they're done," the man reminded them all. "I like them, thank you so much Ally! This is going to be the best first Halloween ever!" Ally smiled appreciatively as she placed a pin in Luna's costume, where she needed to take the fabric in a little.

Once Luna was done, Ally went to make adjustments to Ren's costume, ignoring his complaint as he hemmed and hawed over the frills and crosses. "I guess if you don't want to be the vampire, you'll have to be the clown." Ren's cheeks turned bright pink and he shook his head vigorously. "No, no, I'll be the vampire." Ally laughed, glad that at last, he was cooperating. She took a quick picture, wanting to remember her victory. "I'm glad we'll get to have these memories to cherish forever." Yui said with a smile as she rocked back and forth on her heels. Once the war was over and they could return to Tokyo, perhaps they would be able to have even more fun?

Luna hugged her jacket closer to her as the howling wind continued to whip around them. Ronan and Xavier were hard at work lowering the boats into the Mendenhall Lake after a long drive down the road to get here in the first place. Luckily this time Ronan knew to not drive like a wild animal. Sadly, Ping had to stay behind, canoes and hikes were not for wildcats like Ping. Yui's pet was well-behaved though, so no one was required to stay behind and watch poor lonely Ping. Damian had organized this event for them to start off the October festivities. Halloween was a big occasion for them so they wanted to make the entire month as fun as possible for the kids.

"It's cold!" Luna complained as Ronan helped her into the kayak. Since they were a party of 8, they separated them into four groups of two, with four boats. Normally they could squeeze three in if they were careful but with all the hiking gear to climb the Mendenhall Glacier, it really was best to limit it to two per boat. Sadly this meant that the kids couldn't kayak together because they were probably too small to be able to oar over to the mountainous glacier looming at them from above. Xavier scooped Ren up into his kayak no matter how much Ren tried to squeeze in with Yui and Damian and Ally and Leo were quick to go together in their loveboat. "Uh." Ronan scratched at his head, realizing how quickly everyone organized themselves. "Uh, I guess you're with me?" Luna's cheeks were pink, she was very happy with this arrangement even if Ronan was awkward about it.

Ronan helped her into the kayak, taking great care only to touch her sides and not anywhere less innocent. He clambered in as well and then readies the oars. "I can just blow us all there with my wind." Luna suggested with a half smile, trying not to look at Ronan's direction as he manned the oars. He looked so cool for some reason! Well, he always looked cool, to be fair. "Damian says we're supposed to do this without our powers." Ronan grunted as he worked the oars, using powerful strokes of his arm to outpace Ally and Leo already. "If normal humans can do this, it would be insulting if we couldn't manage this too!" "Um, Ronan..." They were alone, and with the splish splash of the lake, no one else would be able to hear.

Wasn't this the perfect opportunity?

But then her heart was beating too fast and Luna lost the nerve to do it so she looked away when Ronan asked her what was up. "We should go fast! What if Damian loses balance and he and Yui fall in!" The Black Reaper groaned as he did another powerful motion with the oars. "That won't happen, I trust the guy." He said gruffly, his voice like a low rumble that vibrated through the whole kayak. "If anything, Yui would love a chance to swim in water like this, make friends with the local fish. She's weird like that." Xavier and Ren were the first ones to make it and the two boys anchored their kayak in place and were waiting for the rest of them.

A sudden competitive look was in Luna's eyes as the two kayaks were neck and neck for the final stretch. "Ronan... let's race Damian and Yui to the glacier!" Her eyes twinkled at Ronan with amusement. "You don't want him to be manlier than you, do you? You already lost to Xavier, can your manly pride survive?" Ronan let out a grunt that was mildly annoyed, as if he knew what she as doing. "But fine, I'll play along. Yo, Damian! First group between us to get to the glacier gets to eat a cake made by the losers!" Luna gave Yui a wave, hoping the Coddess was enjoying herself. "Yui, maybe you can find a cod in the lake! Then you can really be the Coddess!"

It was sunrise when Yui was awoken by Ally, her older sister changing her out of her pajamas and bundling the child in warm clothes. "Breakfast time," Ally said, trying to rouse Yui from her state of tiredness. Ping looked up, wondering what Ally was doing to her owner and came to inspect, mewing softly. Ping rubbed herself against Yui to aid Ally, the other two children already up and at breakfast. Yui was never a morning person, she liked to sleep just as much as any other teenager. "You're gonna miss yummy food," at long last Yui's eyes opened and she looked around, wondering how she had magically gotten dressed. "Come on, Luna and Ren are already at the breakfast table," Ally lifted Yui up, carrying her like a backpack to the kitchen, where Damian was already serving up sizzling strips of bacon and omelets. Xavier and Leo were on sandwich making duty, since it was something they couldn't mess up and Ronan was preparing coffee for them all.

"Morning," Yui yawned sleepily, rubbing her eyes. She picked at her food, not particularly hungry yet. "You should try to eat up, we have a long day ahead of us." Ally warned with a wink, digging into her own food. Yui sighed, managing to get down half her plate before she lost interest in it, falling asleep in her seat. Ronan sighed, lifting her up and carrying her to the car. He strapped her into the car seat in the back row, between where Luna and Ren were, who were just tall enough to not need one. Yui slept the rest of the way to their super secret location, only waking up when Ally unstrapped her. The child's eyes widened, as if by magic once more, she was in another location.

"How did we get here?" She asked, gawking at the gorgeous crystal lake before them. "We drove," Ronan winked, ruffling her hair. Damian took Yui's hand gently, kneeling down to look in her eyes. "Want to be boat buddies?" Yui nodded eagerly, "Yeah!" The boys had all agreed to pair off with the children so that Ally and Leo could kayak together, their resident doctor having brought along a field medical bag just in case something happened. Better to anticipate it than not be prepared. Damian helped her into a life jacket and then into the front seat of a kayak. "How do I use this?" Yui held the paddle as Damian slid into the back seat, cutting the water to push them forward smoothly. "Like this Yui, go on the opposite side I do. I'll propel us and you steer." As Damian instructed her on what to do, Yui was acutely aware of the sea life below them.

"Look at all of those fish!" She giggled, watching as they darted around their paddles, some even jumping up to move out of their way. Ronan and Luna pulled up beside them, stating that they should race. "Okay, but be ready to lose. Come on Damian, let's go!" Paddling faster, the two of them sped up, pulling a bit ahead. "Ooh, a cod!" They slowed down as Yui lost focus and looked around for a fish. She would love for the opportunity to swim in such a beautiful lake, one that was so clear she could see the bottom.

The glacier was just so beautiful in so many ways. Being up this north was very much a treat compared to Japan. Sure, Japan had it's beauties, but for a Japanese, something like a giant glacier was far more exotic and interesting than yet another old historical castle that once had a bunch of random samurai in it. She and Ronan were in a race to the glacier before Yui and Damian, this was serious business because neither of them had idea how to cook. If they were forced to make a cake upon losing the bet, it would end in food poisoning for the whole house. "Go faster, Ronan!" Luna cried as Damian and Yui pulled ahead as a team.

"I have an idea." Ronan shifted to the side and patted the seat next to him so Luna would have room. "Gimme a hand, will ya? Don't make me do all the work." Excited at the chance to help, Luna nodded, trying to copy Ronan's movements as best as she could. They were lagging behind though because Yui had been helping from the start and Luna still wasn't used to using the big cumbersome instrument to move the boat through the water. Eventually though their race opponents slowed down as Yui got distracted by fish. "Losers!" Luna taunted as she and Ronan edged ahead and reached the glacier first. They had won! They wouldn't have to make a cake! This was a happy day for everyone involved. "I guess that means we're better?" Ronan smirked as Xavier and Ren were watching. "If anything, we won." Ren said with a smug turn of the head. "Since we got here first, we're the best." No way! The gladiator angel wasn't going to stand up to this insolence! "Ronan and I are the best, and that's final!"

Once Yui and Damian arrived the last ones to wait on were Ally and Leo, who sure were taking their sweet time. They probably got distracted in their own company that they forgot to keep on rowing. "Hurry up, silly idiots." Xavier called, waving his arms at the heiress and the doctor. "We don't have all day!" Luna glanced up and saw the northern lights shimmering above them. For some reason this resonated, deep in her soul. Spontaneously, as if completely on instinct, the pinkette began to sing. At first her voice came out pitchy, a little strained but then her breathing relaxed and her voice naturally fell into ease and became clear, pretty. Not as raw talented as a certain Sinner, but certainly good for a first try.

By the time she realized what was happening the pinkette began to blush and she hid her face behind her wing, squirming. Why was she so embarrassed? Because in the lyrics of the song was a very clear statement of love towards Ronan, of course. The song was a love song to Ronan, with lyrics such as 'The Northern Lights make me long for you, won't you let me take your hand too?' Ren was stifling his giggles and Luna, too embarrassed to even look at Ronan, conjured a cloud and floated up the glacier, forcing everyone else to go up the slow path.

At the top of the glacier, a certain pinkette sat, scarf and wing billowing magificently behind her small figure with the force of the wind, almost as if waiting for Ronan's response to the confession.

A fish! It was so pretty, its scales as shiny as the stars. "Yui," Damian groaned, "keep rowing." The little Goddess blushed, sitting upright as she recalled their race. "R-right, sorry!" She continued paddling, their kayak pulling up only seconds after Ronan and Luna's did. "Ah, we lost!" Yui jumped out of the kayak and removed her life jacket, giggling. "Now we're gonna have to make a cake!" Damian rolled his eyes, but nodded anyhow. "Yes, yes, well I figured it was gonna end up this way." He shook his head, but winked and ruffled Yui's silky locks. The child turned around, looking up at the glacier they would have to hike to the top of. "Wow, it's so big!" When Ally and Leo at last arrived, they began to pick up their things.

"Oh Luna, that song was so pretty!" The angel had begun to sing, the lyrics heartfelt. Ronan was busy digging through his belongings for a power bar, hardly listening until a certain point and then his cheeks turned bright red. When it was done and they all clapped, Luna blushed and flew up on a cloud on her own. "Well, we'd better walk up." Ronan sighed, scratching the back of his neck. The rest of them headed towards the trail, since the glacier was made of ice, you couldn't actually climb it to the top. They had to take a separate path that led them through the woods, signs for wild life marked all around in order to keep them on the trail. "Look how pretty it is!" Yui giggled, pointing out the glacier from one of the look out's. "It's really nice, here, gather around, let's take a picture." Ally said, grouping them together. It's too bad Luna had flown off, they would have to take another at the top.

"I wonder if there are animals living inside of the glacier?" Xavier shook his head, smiling. "No silly, it's made of ice." Ren laughed, as though he too, had already known this. "So then what's the point of it?" Yui asked in her confusion. "It's how this river was made, the glaciers cut through the land slowly and eventually, they turned into rivers and mountains. Remember, when the earth began, it started as a large hunk of ice. Then it slowly warmed up over time," Yui nodded, recalling her lessons in evolution.

❝The quiet resolve of a dragonfly as it takes to the sky should not be looked down on, but respected.❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#762D73 ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #BF3B3B

|| And the Snakes start to Sing || Bring me the Horizon ||

Having awakened her love of song, she couldn't help but sing atop the glacier, all alone.

Sometimes I just look up, and then I see you right there
The sun is shining brightly, but I can't help but stare
This song goes to you
My love's beating true
The Northern Lights make me long for you, won't you let me take your hand too?'
This time, I was scared and ran away
This time, I wasn't brave enough to stay
This time, I want to treat you right
This time, I will make you fall on sight
And now, you gave me means to smile
And now, I want to do that too
And now, I am singing this song
And now, I'm waiting so you come along
I'm so sorry, I just make you worry, won't you love me, we could be happy
I dream of you, a world just for me and you, my heart's feelings, so look and please see
Up here in the sky, I'm waiting, for you to come and find me
With the howling wind, my heart sings and longs for you quietly
How will you respond to the question that my words have asked there
Do you think that you could love someone like me who loves the air
I don't know how to be good
I'm don't know if I ever could
But here I am singing so high
Maybe if I could just try
Pitter patter of the wind
Hoping our hearts can twin
I feel like I'm made of porcelaine
But I know I'll fall for you yet again

Someone yelled right as she finished the song. For some reason it was just Ronan there, as if he told the others to let him handle this alone or something. Atop the glacier peak, Ronan ran to the edge where Luna was sitting. She squirmed and tried to make another cloud to fly away but Ronan clamped hard her wrists. "I-" He shoved a cookie in her mouth to shut her up, meaning it was his time now to speak. "Do you have to sing such an embarrassing song?! We could hear you the whole way up, you know!" Luna's cheeks went pink but she remained resolute. That was why she was singing, so she could convey the feelings her hear was holding onto for so long now.

As Aria, she loved Ronan. Even reborn as Luna, that affection remained the same. Luna took a deep breath and stopped her struggle. Just like the song said, she wanted to try and be brave so she stood up on her own and turned to look at Ronan properly. His hair was frazzled, his cheeks were a bit flushed and there was a look in his eye that was beyond intoxicating. "I think I loved Aria too." The star of her eye told her and the pinkette nodded. She knew it, of course, the Queen of Hyperdeath had been quite aware of his feelings. "Even though we were wrong, killing with her was such a thrill." Ronan loved her strength, her grit, her power. Of course, the looks of an idol didn't hurt either.

Luna was Aria's second chance to be happy, a chance given to her by Mayumi, a woman many remembered as an enemy. Hardly anyone knew of her sacrifice in the end, of the fact that she truly did selflessly wish for a world where everyone could be happy. Ronan didn't know if he could do that. He wasn't really a 'save the world' type of guy. But there was one girl here who he was determined to save. "You love Aria, so you don't love me, I get it." Luna smiled sadly. "Go away! You don't have to spare my feelings!" She was jumping to conclusions again, wasn't she?

So he grabbed again and then kissed her on the lips, right then and there. His face had gone even redder and his heart was going a million miles a second, but he wasn't going to give in. It was now or never. "I'm not good with words like you." He began, looking straight into her deep blue eyes which were wide with shock. "And I'm bad at talking about feelings." He was pretty bad at things like self expression. Always was, always would be. "But I know what my heart says." He grabbed her hand and placed it over his chest so she could feel the rapid, desperate thumping. "This explains it better than I ever could." The pinkette stared for a moment and then she relaxed, tears brimming in her eyes. She was bawling and Ronan didn't know what to do, so he did what his heart screamed at him to do.

He embraced her, atop the glacier's peak as the wind howled around them and the shimmering aurora winked down at them from up above.

Yui was enjoying herself on their hike. It didn't feel all that cold despite the fact that it was snowing, the built in warmers in her jacket kept her nice and toasty. "Hey Yui," Ren turned around, realizing that she had gotten distracted again by a ferret that was burrowing in the ground. "What is it?" She stood upright, having knelt down in the snow to look at some pretty rocks. "Where did the adults go?" Yui turned around, wondering where they had gone. "Come on, let's try this way," he grabbed her wrist, attempting to drag her off of the path and into the woods. "Hey you two! Come on!" Ally poked her head around the corner of a tree, having gone not too far ahead. "Ren, that was mean!" The boy sighed, it was clear that if he wanted to run away with Yui, he was going to have to try a lot harder than that.

They were halfway up the mountain by the time Yui's tummy began to grumble. "Ally, I'm a little bit hungry." Yui admitted, tugging on Ally's sleeve. "I guess we can stop for a snack break," Ally reached into her backpack, handing out fruit for all of them to eat. Yui sat on the ledge of the mountain, watching the clouds as she ate a banana, Ren sitting beside her with an apple. Ronan had disappeared, no doubt going ahead because they were moving at such a slow pace. "Do you think Luna's alright? She sang such a pretty song and then ran off!" Xavier snickered, no doubt knowing something that Yui didn't. "She ran off because she professed her love to Ronan!" Ren explained in that know-it-all voice of his. Yui's eyes widened, she hadn't realized that, that was what the song was supposed to mean.

It seemed that her whole family was falling in love. Were they going to leave her? Would they all move away to their own homes and begin their own lives? The thought of the future made her heart clench painfully, butterflies flitting in her stomach. No, Yui didn't want them to leave her; she was scared to be all alone. "Come on guys, let's keep going, we're almost there." Ally promised, helping Yui to her feet. She held her big sister's hand, the two of them carefully navigating back towards the path as Xavier brought up the rear and Damian coaxed Ren to keep going, promising him that he could help bake the cake so long as he didn't keep complaining. Yui giggled, it seemed that even as the others evolved, at least Ren would never change. "We're so high up!" Yui looked out over the path, able to see their kayaks from up here.

At long last, they had reached the peak. They could trek the top of the glacier in certain areas and Ally spread out a picnic blanket. "I don't see those two," Xavier looked around, but the glacier was quite large. "I'll look for them!" Yui volunteered, unfurling her wings. She took a running start, leaping off of the ledge of the glacier, her wings catching the wind and yanking her upwards. The others ran to the edge, gasping as they searched for her. The little Goddess suddenly swooped above them, grinning and flashing a two fingered peace sign. "I'll be back soon!" Yui promised, scanning the large icy rock for their location.

Ronan wasn't sure if this was the right thing. Falling in love with Luna like this, wasn't it just a recipe for disaster? She was most definitely going to outlive him, that was a part of the deal of becoming an Angel in the first place. To make matters worse, she was only really a year old if you considered her physical body. Sure it was aged to be frozen at thirteen - which still, mind you, was pretty messed up on Ronan's part, who was in his very early twenties - but Luna's mind, too, despite borrowing from Aria's memories and experiences, still is only a year old. But despite all of the things wrong with this, his heart was telling him to go for it regardless.

No mater how impossible this relationship might be, now that he chose to reciprocate, he had no choice but to stick by his decision. And personally, it made him happy to follow the heart's demands once in forever. "But I'm just a kid! And you're a grown up!" Luna whined and Ronan pulled away from the embrace, still holding her hand. "You're technically twenty if we add Aria's brain's life to yours." Luna was shaking, her resolve was in tatters now, her wing was continuously shivering from confusion and surprise. "The others might think you're weird. Isn't it weird? I'm not much taller than even Yui!" Her face burned with shame as she considered the next part of why this was wrong. "And - and - for s-sex... wouldn't it be messed up?' Ronan already had a solution to that conundrum. "Yui can make a miracle to temporarily give you an adult's body." He told her, knowing it was true. "You have to stay small because you're an Angel, but the rule doesn't say anything about temporary transformations."

He had to quell every doubt until finally she was silent, unable to think of anything else. "Well, if you're done complaining about me being your boyfriend, let's climb down and meet up with-" Then there was a loud crash. What was that? Luna made a cloud and beckoned for him to hop on and they went to the sound of the noise. There, floating in the ocean, was a very strange thing, almost as big as a house, a gigantic robotic monster. It was dead, most likely having washed up from a battle. On it was the EU logo. The rest of the family caught up to them as Luna and Ronan were examaning the creature. "It's destroyed, someone killed it and it got swept through the ocean and ended up here." Luna frowned, wondering what this meant.

"These are what Raven and the others are fighting on the front line." Damian told them so that they would be informed. Did he see it in his mental book of the Prophecy? Was that why he organized this trip? While quite a few of them had fear in their eyes, Allyana was positively in love with it. "So much technology! Can we bring this home? Can we break this up somehow and bring it home in little chunks? I can strip it so that there's no way the EU can trace it!" Though any tracers were likely broken a while ago anyways. "Um, first, I guess we should try to get it out of the water." This thing was absolutely enormous. how frightening must it be to face this on the battlefield? "Is this what Mizu's fighting?" The pinkette asked in a trembling voice. "Mizuki will probably challenge it to a poker game and bet her life and win." Ren told her with a wide grin.

Yui squinted, spotting something strange on the shore. She landed back on the glacier, nearly skidding right off the other side. Xavier grabbed her by the hood, lifting her up and dragging her back. "Whoa, slow down there cow girl, you nearly had flames licking your heels you were going so fast!" Yui giggled, not struggling as he lifted her onto his shoulders. "Come on, Ally wants to go back down." Down? But they just got up! Yui didn't question it, however, instead, going along with the flow. Their trip back was much faster thanks to Xavier's teleportation, which for some reason, they hadn't used on the way up. At the base of the trail, where they had parked their kayaks, a giant monster had washed up on shore. Yui screamed, burying her face in her hands so that she wouldn't have to look at it. The others were enthralled, Damian and Ally poking around, knee deep in water.

Ronan and Aria came from around the corner, the two of them seemingly captivated by the giant metal monster as well. Xavier put Yui back on her feet, allowing her to inspect it. It seemed to be dead, shorted out by something. "Are they really fighting these? They're huge!" Yui's eyes widened as she marveled at what appeared to be a metal giant squid." Xavier nodded his head, Damian giving them a small tidbit of information about what it was. "So it's like that ship Shoku had?" The Nautilus, the one that Aria had destroyed and turned into her realm of Hyperdeath. Which meant that light powered it, only now, it seemed that someone had taken out the light reactor within, which was what had killed it.

"No," Ronan crossed his arms. "Absolutely not, at most, you can scavenge for the hard drive, but no. I am not dragging that thing back with us," not to mention, it would attract for too much attention. They were supposed to be keeping a low profile, not terrorizing giant squids and flying at the top of glaciers. "Let's get out of here before the authorities show up. The last thing we need is to explain to the captain of the guard why we were by this giant red flag." Back into the kayaks they went, Ally and Damian both disappointed that they couldn't make further observations aside from the hard drive they had managed to rip out of the center. Yui had an ominous feeling about it and was rather glad that they were leaving the area.

They drove to a new location to have their picnic, "There we go, it's all taken care of." Ally winked, closing her holo. "You three, hide your wings." They pulled up to a port, a selection of boats waiting there to take people out to sea. "What are we doing?" Yui inquired, hiding her wings so that they hid flat underneath her jacket. "We're going whale watching!" Yui's eyes lit up in wonder and excitement as they unloaded from the car, Ren unstrapping her from the car seat. Ally picked up the picnic basket and led them to a beautiful boat, its walls made completely of glass. There was a man there waiting for them, he programmed the boat to take them out to sea for two hours, then return once their time was up. "I'm so excited!" Yui squealed as they boarded, having their fall fun at last.

What is happiness? Can you touch it? Can you see it? Can you reach out and grab it? Luna didn't know, but she knew that something inside of her was happy. More than just herself being glad for the love's reciprocation, she felt something deep within her rest in contentment, something that went deeper than purely subconscious. Was it because of love? Even though the love was destined to have a sad ending because one day, one day for sure, Ronan would leave her behind and go with the others and she would remain to fulfill her duty with Ren and Yui at her side. Ally seemed disappointed but there was no way they could bring the entire weapon with them so Ally had to settle for the hard drive.

"But there's not enough stuff! And it takes hours just to get anything for me to tinker with!" Ally wept in the car on the drive back. Luna was staring out of the window, looking up at the sky and wondering if Mizu could see it too, or if she was crushed to death under one of those horrible monsters made by the EU. "It'll be okay." Leo soothed his girlfriend, patting her hair and running his fingers through the strands. "We'll buy plenty of machines for you to take apart when we get back." Allyana glowed at the doctor and for some reason the noble and highborn Ally seemed almost cute as she was pacified by Leo's gentle care. Leo was a very subdued kind of person - he didn't wear his heart on his sleeve like most of the family. But when he did let down the wall, there was a very tender soul inside.

It was now time for the next step of their day. The glacier and the lake wasn't all the adults had planned, there was still more left for them to enjoy. Although, this one was sure to be quite a bit less physically straining. Not that Luna did much strain, she mostly spent the time singing or sitting on a cloud. "Poor Yui." Luna went on bully mode to try to go back to her normal. "Look at all the water we had today and you can't swim in any of it! All the fish that wanted to make friends with you, if only you jumped in!" Well technically she, Ren, and Yui could all swim together as a trio, sharing the same ena that came from their Coddess in the first place.

Maybe that would be another adventure they could share together, someday. But for now, it was time for them to get ready for whale watching. "Maybe we should push her in." Ren snorted, following Luna's cue. "Then she can make friends with all the fish!" Luna's wing twitched under her jacket as she giggled. "but then they might laugh at why the big fish needs nappies!" Someone then lifted them both up by the backs of their jackets, one in each hand. Ronan. "Okay, that's enough." He sported an evil grin then and positioned his arms to throw them off the side of the boat. "No, we're sorry! It's so cold, we didn't mean it!" Ren begged. Luna didn't throw away her pride, though, she could save herself with a cloud.

As the adults took care of the boat, Yui, Luna, and Ren gathered at the hull, looking outside at the beautiful water. The boat began to navigate away from the dock, using echo location to find a pod of whales for them to follow. Yui was looking for fish when Luna began to tease her, gesturing to the water. "I wish I could swim with them," Yui sighed in agreement. "I want to make friends with all of the sea creatures." The mist that came off of the water was cold, but despite it, Yui heartily wanted to strip off her jacket with its fancy heating technology and dive in below the depths, where her ena could shine. "I've never swam in an ocean before," and the only beaches she had been to were frozen over by the heavy winter that had taken over their world.

Ren suggested pushing her in, but Yui ignored him, used to the bullying. What she hadn't expected was for Luna to take his side. Normally, Luna protected Yui from the bully Ren, but today it seemed that she joined the opposing team. "It-it's not my fault!" She blushed, squirming and looking at the ground. Ronan came to her rescue, picking both offenders up by their coats and holding them over the side of the boat. Ren apologized profusely almost instantly, not wanting to be thrown in since he didn't know how to swim. Luna on the other hand, remained awfully stoic. Ronan set them both down, wanting to talk to them to see if they had gleaned any information on the spy mission. "Yui, Ally wants your help inside," he said, shooing her away before she could detect the lie in his bloodstream.

"Did you find anything out?" Ronan asked, his expression one of concern. Both for the two children before him and for his little sister. Yui entered the fancy interior of the boat, where Ally and Damian were setting up lunch. "Oh good, come on, I think it's time for a change." Ally held out her hand and Yui took it, allowing her to lead her to the marine head, which was fancy sailor talk for bathroom. "Ally, do you think I'll ever get out of training pants?" Yui asked as Ally handed her a clean nappy to change into. "I'm a big girl, I'm a Goddess! But no one takes me seriously because I still wear diapers." Yui sighed exasperatedly, exiting the stall. "No Yui, that's not why no one takes you seriously," Ally laughed, ruffling her hair. "It's because you're barely four feet tall and look like an eight year old."

In a flash of light, Yui's form suddenly changed to one that was much older, what she would no doubt look like if she were a normal sized fifteen year old girl. Ally stumbled, falling backwards into the sink in her surprise. "How about now?" Yui asked, glancing at herself in the mirror. She couldn't hold the form long though, after a full minute, Yui was forced to change back. It seemed that there were limits to the miracles, especially when it included her own body. "How did you do that?" Ally inquired and Yui shrugged, picking at imaginary lint on her shirt. "I just thought that I should look older, but it hurt a lot, so I let it go."

After shooing her away, Ronan put both of the Angels back on their feet, safely on the right side of the railing. Ren seemed especially glad, but Luna stuck her tongue out at Ronan for thinking such a display would have scared her into submission. "I can be mean to her too!" She taunted. Ronan shook his head and put both his arms around their shoulders. It was secret meeting time, so the angels instinctively leaned their heads in. "Tell me, how did the spying go? Any info?" Luna shook her head. "We got hit by Ally's door." She explained, being very helpful. "There's something. She's... anxious but doesn't realize she's anxious, or something. It's in her head. She doesn't know it's there." Ren was more sensitive to these things because he could actually go into Yui's head and figure things out as necessary.

"Is it really okay for us to be here playing around?" While she appreciated the time off to recuperate from the trauma, the pinkette was okay now. She was ready to go back to the fight, and she knew considering the giant octopus robot, Empress Raven and the rest of the anti-EU coalition was definitely putting up a strong fight for dominance. Even worse was losing Mina, she hated to think her old stage partner was dead. "But we have to make sure Yui's okay!" Ren started, not wanting go back to the war yet. Yui was better off in peace, that was what he thought. "We're better off here." Right. Their primary duty was to Yui. Anyone else... anyone else... wasn't... as important as protecting Yui.

Excerpt of Empress Raven's notes on the EU War

A 70-foot tall squid monster. The bulk of the EU's aquatic forces. It's main attacks are tentacles and electricity. Is very strong, fast, but not too durable. Their main purpose is to destroy naval forces, such as ships or submarines. An army of thirty of them guard the seaways to the UK. A carpet bomb should be enough to destroy them.

10-feet tall sword robot warriors. Fast and deadly and surprisingly sturdy as well, these are the most common units in the EU's robot legion. They attack and move fast and can easily overwhelm an unprepared army. Always in groups of five or more. Plasma weapons and long range bombardments are effective.

30-feet tall defensive monsters, armed with heavy gun weaponry to attack at long ranges. Often is grouped together with the MK Galahads to protect them. Slow. It's armaments can attack our troops from afar. Attack the core at the center of it's chest with blades to destroy the light reactor from within.

5-feet tall feminine robots. They remain in the back line and make robotic 'songs' out of static to activate a part of the human brain that stimulates terror. Fast, but fragile. Any good attack should put them out of commission.

20-feet tall dragons. They can fly with the power of the jets in its wings. Fast and deadly and can crush planes and helicopters with it's claws, or drop large bombs onto the battlefield from it's mouth. It's tail is also dangerous and acts as a whip. The jets are the weak points in the armor. Aim for them and take them out of the sky.

It happened once more while she was assisting in setting the table. The sudden bout of anxiety that clutched her chest, making it hard to breathe. "Leo," Yui walked over to him calmly, removing her jacket. "I think I'm having a heart attack," in alarm, the Doctor began to unpack his medical kit, checking her vitals and listening to her heart. "No Yui, your vitals are stable for the time being." Leo shook his head, leaving Yui confused. Tears suddenly welled up in her eyes and she felt inexplicably nauseous. "Yui, have you ever heard of anxiety?" The child shook her head, wondering what that was. Leo sat down on the floor beside her, attempting to think of a way that would be easy for her to understand.

"Sometimes, our brain has a way of thinking about things, even if we're not always listening to what it's saying. This can cause feelings to well up inside of you without your knowledge, which can cause chest tightness, nausea, and difficulty breathing." Those were all of the symptoms that Yui was experiencing and she wondered how Leo was so good at this. "So it's anxiety, not a heart attack?" Leo nodded, ruffling her hair and packing up his tool kit. "I can give you some medicine for it if you'd like?" Yui shook her head, she would rather not take yucky pills, who knows what effect they would have on this body. "I'd rather just try to push through it," wiping her tears from her eyes, Yui sniffled and rose to her feet, she had to set the table after all.

"Lunch time everyone!" Yui called, hoping all signs of tears had been wiped from her face. She poked her head outside to see Ronan giving Ren and Luna a lesson on something or another, perhaps a magic trick. "Guys, we're gonna eat soon. Ally says the ship predicts we'll find the whales soon." Her eyes glimmered at the thought of getting to see them. Yui headed back inside, taking a seat by the window. She shrugged off her jacket, a bit too toasty inside of the cabin. Xavier took a seat next to Damian and Ally sat across from Leo, their group waiting for the final three before digging into the yummy, American style lunch Damian had made them. "What is all this?" Yui asked, her eyes widening ever so slightly.

"I wanted to try my hand at some American classics, so I made a bit too much I think." Damian scratched his cheek as he removed the lids off of their food. He had packed it all bento style, but it was pretty clear that it wasn't traditional Japanese. Tatertot casserole, hamburgers dripping with gooey cheese, some sort of fish chowder, biscuits smothered in savory sauce. "Wow," was all Yui could muster.

Luna was idly watching the waters drift on by. She was a little tired after everything today, she mostly just wanted to take it easy. Someone happened by next to her, offering her a drink. "Don't worry, there's no alcohol." Xavier smirked at her, sitting next to her near the railing so they could observe the arctic sea together. "Hello." She said to him with half smile, turning back to continue looking at the rolling waves. The two hadn't actually gotten a chance to talk one on one at all yet, and Xavier saw this as his opportunity to get in. "It's just orange juice, so it isn't really that fancy, either." The branch leader had his own drink too, some sort of cocktail. She could smell the alcohol from here.

But Xavier must be good with alcoholic drinks because he wasn't letting it get to his head at all. "We haven't really gotten to know each other all that much yet." Xavier said, somehow looking cool despite the fact that he was gay now. Or was he bi, did he still like girls? "To be honest, it was a bit hard at first. Aria was my best friend, and I kept wanting to see her in you." He looked at her intently and Luna squirmed, no longer so fragile that she cowered away from any sort of attention. "Then let's get to know each other!" But how would they do that? "Alright." He cracked a face similar to that of a Cheshire cat. "Tell me about yourself. What hobbies do you have?" Hobbies? Did she even have any? "I like to sing?" Though she only discovered that today.

Wait, no, singing was Aria's thing! Was there something she liked, that was all to herself? "I like to make messes, too." She remembered throwing things around in her room when there was nothing left to do. "Well, I guess we'll just have to do lots of things until you find out what else you like, huh?" Before their one on one sesssion ended, Damian called for lunch. This time it was a western style assortment of foods and Luna was excited to dig in, taking a cheeseburger all for herself. "No, fair, I wanted that one!" Ren whined, reaching for it. "I touched it first." The wind mage snorted, ignoring him but the trickster was insistent. "I looked at it first, so it's mine!" Luna stood up, wing crackling threateningly. "That's not how it works!"

Before the fight could escalate further there was a splashing sound. Ally let out a scream and pointed, drawing all of their eyes to look out at sea. Damian snapped a shot with his camera of the pod of orcas, all jumping out of the water for whatever reason. "Ooooh." Ren punched her teasingly. "Are you trying to talk whale, because that's how slow your brain is!"[/color] The pinkette glared at him and threw a crumb of her cheeseburger at his face. "You're just jealous that I took the cheesiest cheeseburger before you could!"

"Ronan, come here," Leo beckoned the knight off to the side, confirming his suspicions. "What can we do?" Ronan asked quietly, looking like a concerned older brother. Leo scratched his chin, "She doesn't want medicine, so the most we can hope for is that we dig down to the source of it and ease whatever's triggering the anxiety. There's a link somewhere, probably." Ronan nodded, he and his mini spies would figure it out. "Also Ronan," Leo touched his shoulder, the older brother turning around to face him once more. "Give these to Ren next time you see him in private," he handed Ronan a small pill bottle. "What are these?" He frowned, shaking the bottle. "Hormones, the poor boy has more estrogen in him than testosterone." It took everything in the knight to keep from laughing, at least this would give the girls something to tease him about. "Why can't you give them to him?" Leo rolled his eyes, stuffing his hands into his pockets in a way that made him seem more like a teenager than a doctor. "Because he adamantly avoids every attempt I make at cornering him."

When lunch was called, the group sat around the table as eagerly as ever, prepared for the feast Damian had worked so hard to prepare them. They had only gotten a few bites in when the ship abruptly stopped, spotting a whale. "Wow," Yui gasped, her eyes twinkling. Jacket and food forgotten, she jumped out of her seat and ran to the balcony to watch them. There were binoculars hanging on the railing, which she picked up to gaze out of. "According to my sources," Ally said, consulting her phone. "What they're doing is called breaching and a mama does it to teach her young. What we're getting is a really special, rare look into the lives of whales." Yui was enthralled by the Mother Orca dancing across the waves. "What kind of whales are those?"

"There are two species of whale native to the area. The humpback and the killer whale, or the orca. That one's an orca, the humpbacks you can spot by their signature-they're, there's one over there!" Yui turned, using the binoculars to focus on the signature hump that crested out of the water, the tail waving at them as though to say hello. "There are also seals in this area and on the small islands around us, there are bears and other types of wildlife." Ally had pulled up a virtual guide, figuring that she may as well use it since she had paid for it. Like an overbearing Mother, Damian became a shutterbug, snapping photos left and right, making them take a group photo with the whales in the background. Ronan grabbed Yui suddenly, hoisting her up onto his shoulders to get a better view. He leaned over the railing, the whale so close that the spray from their blow holes reached them.

"Hello friend!" Yui waved, glittering like a precious gem when the light hit her. The whales came up to meet their boat, curiously going underneath and popping up on the other side. "They're like puppies!" Yui giggled, looking at their eager faces.

The orcas were pretty as the babies tried to copy the mother's movement. It was odd how such a large blubbery creature could just emerge from the water's rippling surface and twirl with grace until it's fins and tail slapped hard against the surface, creating a resounding splash and a large burst of noise. Luna was transfixed for a moment. Sure, she saw images of things like this on the Internet back at home, but seeing it in real life, in real time... well, that was definitely something a little special. Though no one was enjoying it as much as Yui, who was hopping up and down like an excited little bunny rabbit seeing food for the first time.

The babies were trying to do it too, with various results. "Can I fly us over so we can get a closer look?" Luna asked, pointing with enthusiasm. It would be easy to make a cloud and then they could closer to watch the action with a first person view, wouldn't that be something? "I wouldn't suggest it." Ally advised, shaking her head despite the smiling. "It might disturb them." In her pocket was a bulge no doubt that was where the harddrive was. Though however much their technophile wanted to break it down and figure it out, she knew family time came first and was more than happy to let it rest on the backburner. "But better views!" Luna whined, her short pink hair being blown a little by the wind, but nowhere near as much as the long purple trails of Allyana's own luxurious locks.

"Why do whales do that?" Ren asked, arms crossed as he tried to ruminate the implications of this. Once again it was up to Ally, the only one who had read the guidebook before coming here, to answer the query. "Scientists believe that whales do this to communicate with other whales at long distance." Ren didn't look convinced, as his one raised eyebrow indicated. He was having fun too, but if a different kind. He couldn't go into animal minds, so the idea of not knowing why someone was doing something was clearly bothering him the same way it would bother Yui to not be able to sense someone's blood, or for Luna to be trapped in the Undersea. "But whales have whale songs, they don't need to do this. It looks like a waste of energy in fasting season!"

Even that didn't phase Ally as the breaching ended and the boat began it's journey back to shore to mark the end of this part of their adventure. "Did you know how noisy the sea can be?" The heiress raised her index finger as she gave the explanation. "With seagulls squawking and the shifting tides and sharks and boats and even other whales?" No doubt it could be very noisy indeed. "A whale song could be easily drowned out in the noise if the other pod was sufficiently far away. Breaching is louder and has more of an impact, so it makes more sense that way." Luna pouted, not caring about the why. "But I wanna fly close." She whined and Xavier laughed, petting her arm comfortingly. "Sorry kid, but Ally's word is law here."

❝Everything is falling apart. I have to stand strong for everyone that's left.❞

The world was ending.

"They're gone!" Xavier kicked the wall hard with his foot. "They're all gone. What can we do now?" Anathema had stolen them away and Xavier wasn't strong enough to save them, to stop them. As Viktor told them, it was Anathema who had violated Irina until she could do nothing else. Even so, there had to be something. Damian was the Oracle, so if this was the path he lead them on, then there had to be a way to happiness. Ally trusted him with all of her faith, so she knew Damian was trusting them to know what to do. "We're not alone this time, Xavier." Ally told him, keeping her voice as calm as possible. She wasn't like Yui, she didn't have a calming aura. All she had was her quick thinking to rely on here. "We have the Empress of Japan and all of the resources at her side. We should return to New Tokyo for now, okay?" Xavier was still stressing out, though. Once again, he lost everything. Once again, he might have to kill.

Ally knew that would break him. It was her job to keep their leader safe until the team could be back together again. "We're going back to Raven. Remember, Damian's the Oracle. If he didn't tell us the way out of this mess, it's because he trusts that we can do it ourselves." Was it cruel to use his love for Damian to try to get Xavier to regain his head? Maybe, but she had to try. "I didn't want to lose everyone again." Xavier looked like he was about to break down into tears. They'd already suffered so much of this last time during the Shoku war, they thought that maybe, finally, things would be okay. But then Sanctum started up the hostilities again. "And we don't even have Raven anymore, she's nearly dead!" And to the public, she was dead. That's what Viktor told Leo to tell the world, at least. "But we have everyone that serves at her side. Natsuo, Fox and Noise, and all the Enforcers of this land. For now let's go back home to Tokyo and defeat Sanctum once and for all."

Xavier found himself joining the war effort against Sanctum. "Welcome to the team, Xav." Natsuo looked as if he aged quite a few years since their last meeting. Losing Aria and Mizuki definitely took a toll on him. Nearly losing Raven next made it all even worse. She saw potential in him and he couldn't save her. "Fox, Noise, say hi." The siblings looked up at Xavier and they both nodded in acknowledgement. "Ally told me to join you guys." Xavier muttered, hands in his pockets. "Instead of trying to do things on my own." For now, Anathema was out of reach. Ally was going to try to do something about that. In the meantime, he would protect the homeland from Mortimer Ray. "I'll fight my best." Xavier muttered darkly. "So order me around as best you can, Natsuo."

Natsuo made sure to make good use of Xavier's ability. He would have Xavier appear in the middle of battles and go for leaders of Sanctum's ranks, always making sure to aim for Minako or K whenever he saw them. The four of them, along with the rest of Natsuo's old enforcer squad, became the Special Team to perform quick, surgical strikes against Sanctum's movements. But Xavier was far too focused on the fight. He couldn't think of anything but working himself against the grindstone until there was no Xavier left. His boyfriend was gone, the Goddess, her angels, and the knight were gone. What else could he do? How could he have fun when everyone was gone?

Not everyone was gone.

"Give me my phone back." Xavier muttered, hands in his pockets. Allyana was giggling, dressed cutely and casually as they walked around the streets of Roppongi, with all of it's fancy and expensive stores lining the streets. "No, I want us to have a day off. Let's have a date!" Xavier stared at her and shook his head. Even with his biker jacket on, the darkness could be seen through his sleeve. "You have a boyfriend, and so do I. This is a waste of time!" The dreamweaver, still smiling and giggling, dragged him across the corner and there it was, the Toho Cinemas. "Let's watch a movie! Any preferences? Maybe a steamy romance, or some nice flashy action?" In the end they watched some movie about a sueprspy who fell in love with the secretary of the enemy government and he had to kill her in order to complete his mission. It was sad and Alyl was crying in the end, but Xavier was mostly admiring the many fight scenes, all of them great.

Now they were at a dinner date in a fancy restaurant, with many expensive dishes on the table waiting to be devoured in all their juicy colorful delights. "So why am I here?" Xavier asked, not for the first time. Ally smiled, looking almost like an angel herself. She was originally supposed to be one of the Angels, alongside Ren, but everything changed when Aria died. "Natsuo told me your mark was getting darker. I figured you were doing that stupid overworking-thing again, weren't you?" Xavier was tired of having this talk, of having people breathing down his back. "I have to fight. So I can bring our family home." Despite her jovial expressions, Ally's eyes were very serious. "There won't be a home to come back to if you don't take care of yourself. Do you think we want you to break down and lose yourself in the fighting? What happened to the happy Xavier we all know and love? The friendly guy that held the team together like glue?"

"He's dead." Xavier muttered and Ally laughed despite herself. "Oh wow, Xavier, that was pretty cheesy! C'mon, I know he's in there somewhere. Don't make me dive into your dreams to pull him out." She grabbed his head and pulled him into her chest. He decided to ignore the surprisingly large mounds on her chest, knowing that that wasn't the intention. "Tell Doctor Ally what's wrong and we'll find a way to fix it." Xavier wasn't usually one to talk about feelings. He liked to bottle things up. But for some reason, he felt the gate opening. "I just want everyone back." His voice was strained and Ally kept on petting his head, feeling almost like an older sister. "I want the family back."

When he went home that night, for some reason Xavier felt a tiny bit better than before. By the time the next weekend rolled around, he was the one to reach out to Ally for a movie date. It became their tradition. Despite him living with the Special Team now and away from Ally who was with Viktor, Leo, and Doctor Medicus, the two kept in touch as if they were childhood friends. He became dependent on her warmth and kindness and she was always around when he needed it most.

Clanging of the chain knife against the wall. Once again, Xavier transported around it, not letting himself get hit, and not letting her get to Ally. This ninja was a deceiver, she was a member of Sanctum, so she had to go down. "I'm not even trying to fight right now, sheesh." It had been a few weeks and Xavier got into rhythm with Natsuo's team in trying to save Sanctum from Mortimer's continuous attacks. Minako smiled as she tapped her shuriken lazily against a pipe of the alleyway. "But, well, I guess you wanna capture me to get the antidote for Raven, right?" She grinned, dangerous like a wildcat. Xavier wasn't going to stand for this. "We're going to take you down right here." Ally was crumpled on the ground, clutching her arm where a shuriken had sliced through her shirt. Poison was going through her system but before she could be finished off, Xavier had come to get at the attacker.

This was their plan. Ally would put herself out at risk and Xavier would be far away so when Minako came to attack, she wouldn't see him. Once she was attacked she would press a silent button in her fist to signal to Xavier so he could teleport in to take down the ninja. If anyone was able to keep up with her before she could escape, it was Xavier. "Is this... really how little your friendship with Aria meant to you?" Ally asked through grit teeth, shaking as she saw her vision wavering and going grey. Mina sighed as if this was all just bothersome. "Seriously, isn't it unprofessional to bring personal feelings into business?" The ninja grinned at them from ear to ear. "I love you all. We just happen to be enemies, is all." Xavier lunged at her and then transported behind her when suddenly she pulled a vial out of her sleeve.

"What's that?" Xavier growled, grabbing her wrist so she couldn't throw it. Was it acid, was it a new kind of chemical weapon? "What are you planning? Ally was all he had, she was his only constant. If he lost her, his rock would be gone. All this time she kept him company, they became truly best friends in a way he and Aria couldn't. "It's the antidote." Mina whispered with a smile. "And if you don't let go of me, I'll drop it." Antidote? As in, it would be able to save Ally or Raven? "She's telling the truth, Xav." Ally muttered, trying not to pass out. If she did, she would likely die. "She's going to use my life as leverage." Xavier knew he had no choice, so he pulled away. "Well, what's your demand?" The ninja's eye twinkled happily. "We want to see Mizuki. I have a little machine here to take data on her in the tank." In her pocket was that little device, looking almost like a butterfly.

But Mizu was asleep and at peace. This war had nothing to do with her. Why was Sanctum wanting to wake up the ex-Oracle? Something wasn't adding up here. "I - we won't let you hurt her! She's doing her job, she's helping keep the world safe in there." Xavier owed it to his fallen best friend to protect Mizu with the best of his ability. Minako shrugged. "But isn't that just too pitiful? What if I told you we could get her out? What if there was a way to save her?" This had to be a lie. The only way to save her was through Yui's miracle. There was nothing else they could do for the sleeping princess. "We'll save her our own way." Xavier insisted. But then Minako dropped the vial, only to catch it again with her other hand. The raw panic in Xavier's eyes, the assassin was drinking in the view.

"Sorry, but you have a choice to make, branch leader. If you want this antidote, you'll have to let me in. Take me to Mizuki, or both Ally and the Empress will die." Ally was just barely holding on, but who knew how much longer she had. As much as it pained him, he knew he had no choice here. The heiress nodded at him painfully, she agreed. They would put Mizu at sake... and even risk her life... for a chance to bring Raven back. Xavier transported them into the Roppongi Building, into the special room, and Doctor Medicus let them through when he saw the grave look on Xavier's face. Mina placed the device to read off the monitor and transmit back to Sanctum. "There really was nothing to worry about. She was never in danger." Minako waved the vial as if it was a toy. "But now you have to make another choice, Xavier. Raven or Ally? This vial's only enough to save one." Xavier dropped Ally onto the couch, she was already passed into the coma, just as gone as Raven herself.

Xavier took a deep, harsh breath. "Give it to the Empress. I'll just trust Doc to be able to save Ally." The ninja handed it to him and he very carefully held it in his palm. It was a lifeline. But then his heart clenched, hard. Ally had kept him safe for so long, kept him sane. At first she was a brat but she soon developed into one of the most reliable and hard working members of the team. But Raven, too, was irreplaceable, wasn't she? Minapon, sensing the turmoil in his eyes, laughed. "Oh, Xavier. You really have trouble separating duty from personal feelings, don't you? You have a duty to the Empress, but you can't abandon your dear friend. Maybe even your best friend." The ninja smiled at him and he shuddered.

"I..." Was it treason, to not use the vial to save Raven? Even knowing that saving Raven would make everything easier for them, would allow them to bring Japan together again under her thumb... looking at the girl who had supported and helped him all of these months, he just couldn't leave her. "I really hate you, Minako." The ninja shrugged, looking a little hurt but she didn't comment on it as Xavier injected the antidote into Ally's blood stream. "The right answer was to give it to Medicus to duplicate." She said, almost disappointed. "I really wish you'd done that instead, Xavier." Then the smoke bomb was released and Minako was gone like the wind, as if she was never there to begin with.

Another month passed on by. Natsuo was leading the charge into the Kokobunji base, knocking on Sanctum's front door. But then to their surprise, the base was utterly abandoned. Everything was gone, even Aria's brain was moved elsewhere. "I guess we won, we drove them out of Japan." Xavier was quiet. Even despite this victory, something didn't feel right. Ally turned up around then and shook her head. "I have a tracer on K. They're following Minako's signal to Anathema." The heiress smiled brightly at them. "Natsuo, you guys need to stay here and protect the Empress. Xavier and I will chase Sanctum right to Anathema."

Whales were not the only animals they were lucky enough to see. They followed a school out towards a capsized boat, a fleet of seals lazing about in the sunshine. Yui giggled, watching as two began to fight, nipping at one another's tails. "They're so silly!" Ronan lifted Yui onto his shoulders to give her a better view. She too, wanted to fly over and get a good view, but Ally wouldn't let them and well, Ally's word was law. "I hope they're not too effected by the weather." It was cold, but the seals didn't seem to be having too much of a problem with it. "Blubber whispers," she muttered, sending Ally into a fit of giggles. "Remember the aquarium?" The one they had gone to in Sunshine City?

"You were so enthralled by the seals, Aria and I thought you were gonna run away with them!" Damian began to snicker, their favorite telepathy able to recall that trip rather well. Yui scratched her cheek, blushing. "They're just really cute! They're round bodies are so squishy looking!" Hence why she called them blubber whispers. After two hours of intent whale and animal watching, Leo called them back inside to warm up, clearly concerned about their wild eyes and wind blown hair. Damian went to put up a spot of tea in the boat's small galley as they began to head back. Yui shivered, huddling inside of her jacket in order to warm up. "I know it's fun and all," Leo began, lecturing them all. "But staying outside in the cold can be detrimental to your health if it's for more then two hours."

Yui didn't want a lecture, but she was too tired to argue. She sipped her tea graciously, then flopped over so that her head was resting on Luna's lap. "You're so warm," Yui murmured, rubbing her cheek against Luna's lap. They returned to the port, the owner of the boat waiting for them. Ally tipped him, taking care of payment as always while the rest of them freeloaded off of her. Xavier carried Ren off, who had fallen fast asleep. They piled into their car, Yui in the back in her car seat. "I had a lot of fun today, thank you so much everyone for this trip!" For once, the Freedom Fighters had, had a jolly old time without worrying about being assaulted by any conspicuous person with malicious intent.

Their escorts followed them, not that Yui noticed, but there was a black car several yards ahead of them, as well as behind. She was busy watching the landscape change, their ride home rather long since they were all the way out in the middle of nowhere. They arrived without incident, Ronan going inside first to do a security sweep. Once the all-clear was given, Yui was released from her car seat. A light snow had begun to fall, covering up the tracks the car had made when it had to turn off of the main road. "We're home!" She sang, doing a pirouette in the snow.

|| And the Snakes start to Sing || Bring me the Horizon ||

Upon arriving home, the first thing Ally did was rush into her room in order to dissect the new hard drive extracted from the strange monster. What kind of secrets would this device hold? It was a shame she couldn't take the whole thing, but still, this was better than nothing. She cracked the decryption code and entered the system, or what remained of it. She even got a schematic diagram for the device... which had quite the disturbing thing within. Why was there a Yui-shaped object where the light reactor was supposed to be? She found out the name of this creation was the MK Nyarlathotep. Did that mean the other units also had names as well? The one that died and washed up in Alaska came from a battle over the seas approaching the United Kingdom. Raven's team didn't directly fight this one, then, as the Japanese Military was fighting alongside the UAE in Greece and Sicily.

The heiress continue to play with the database, interested to see what else was waiting to be discovered.

Xavier was also at work. There were quite a few inconsistencies to be had, many of which didn't quite make sense at all. Minako's trail vanished in Prague, that was certain. But then, her corpse was nowhere to be found. Deep in his gut he knew the crafty ninja wasn't dead, but that begged the question of what could have happened. This wasn't the first time corpses have disappeared when they shouldn't have, either. Gil and Freya's bodies had also gone without a trace. Even a sweep through the UN facility in London during the mission to extract Yui showed no signs. Neither Freya nor Gil's marks were among those implanted forcibly into Yui's body, either. He also had in his notes that Mayumi's body vanished from the scene when a team of Enforcers came to check out her base.

But even with these problems around, they still couldn't assist just yet, not with Yui in her current state. When Xavier and Ally met with Damian and Leo - Ronan was distracted Yui and the kids by making them solve crosswords and jigsaw puzzles, offering candy treats to whoever managed to finish his puzzles first - allowing the adults to have their conference. "As we feared, Yui still has too much anxiety. With the powers she has, I don't think it's a good idea for us to pursue either of these goals." While it was their job to work together to cleanse the world of darkness and bring the summer back, they had to maintain the Goddess's health as well, both mental and physical. "The Japanese military isn't going to last, they aren't built to fight these things." Ally was trying to be persuasive even though she knew Yui still needed more rest. "We can't stall forever, Leo. Raven's strategies aren't perfect." There was a chance of failure.

A bit lesser of a problem was the vanishing corpses. "There's someone in the background planning something nefarious. For now, I don't know what they're doing." Xavier scratched at his head in thought. "But they probably aren't the major concern just yet." He didn't mind his issue being put on the rear in terms of importance. Right now, keeping Empress Raven alive should be their second-most priority. Without her, Japan would likely collapse into chaos and disarray. The poor land was only just recovering from Shoku's cruelty, losing their Empress would ruin them. "Then we need to help Yui get back to working order as quickly as we can before we rejoin the front lines." Leo decided for them. "Aaaah!" They could hear Luna crying from the other room. "It's no fair! Ren was stealing the answers from my head!"

Yui wanted to play in the snow, but Leo wouldn't let them. "You had enough time outside, come in or else you'll catch a cold." Yui begrudgingly followed him inside, wishing that they had more faith in her. She wouldn't catch a cold, she was a Goddess! Measly things like human colds could no longer effect her! Or at least, that's what Freya had told her. Yui sneezed as she headed inside, Ronan gathering them up for a fall word search. "Ooh, a word search!" Yui clapped her hands together excitedly; since coming here, she and Ronan had begun to grow much closer and he felt protective of her. She no longer looked anything like Loretta and for Ronan, it was easier for him to be around her since she was no longer a stranger with a familiar face. Was it selfish? Yes, but in a strange way, Ronan was glad that Loretta had been laid to rest.

"Word search?" Ren groaned, rubbing his eyes tiredly. He kicked off his shoes, yawning as he followed them into the living room, where Ronan set up games for them to play while the adults conversed in the kitchen. They couldn't stay here forever, but perhaps one more month wouldn't hurt. They would give the children the rest they needed to recuperate mentally and physically. After that, they would return to battle and restore light and love back to the world. As much as they all wanted it, they couldn't keep sending children to fight their battles without facing repercussions. They could already see the mental effects it had on the kids and that alone was enough to keep Leo from giving them the go-ahead to return to battle.

Yui eyed the word search, wondering why she had to do it in English. "Ally tells me you're pretty good at English," Ronan grinned, no doubt an evil master mind behind those kind, red eyes. Yui shook her head, "No, I'm just good at what Luca taught me." Yui replied, squirming. "Alright, well, your time starts now. Ready, set, go!" Yui looked down at her paper, sticking out her tongue ever so slightly as she worked to circle the words. Ren began plucking answer after answer out of her head, using illusions to scramble the letters in order to make it harder for Yui to find them.

"Ha, I did it, I win!" Yui crossed her arms, pouting. "No fair!" Ren shrugged, "All's fair in love and war." He elbowed Luna in the side, the other angel able to tell he was cheating as well. "Okay, okay," Ronan stood, looming over the table. "No using powers, let's do another one." They were each given a fresh sheet, this one different from the last. "On my mark. Ready? Set, go!" Yui looked down once more and nudged Luna. "Let's team up against Ren," she suggested with a smile. "Oh look! I've already found one!"

Luna was never ever good at these kinds of things. Things that required mental acuity, the poor pinkette was quite deficient. She was always bad at studies, even as Aria this was true. Now as Luna, Leo and the others all knew how she lagged behind Yui and Ren in academic skill. It was just like Damian said once before, Luna's head was just wired to be good at other things. The only problem was that she had no idea what it was she was good for at all. It was quite a shame, really, the girl just had no confidence in herself. "It'll be okay, you can do it." Ronan assured her, but in the end, Ren was the winner. She had her outburst and Yui was on her side, but Ren wanted to be the winner.

So Ronan organized a rematch, then, and this time no one was allowed to use their powers. He even put inhibitors on all three of them to make sure no one would cheat. After all, the prize was candy! Candy meant that this was very serious business, so it had to be a fair competition. New puzzles were placed before them. "Yes, let's work together!" But then Ren looked up at Ronan, almost pleadingly. "They're cheating! Teaming up is cheating!" Unfortunately for the girls, Ronan had to agree. "Sorry, but this is a solo game. Taking answers is plagiarism, and plagiarism means you're expelled!" No, Luna didn't want to be expelled! "But I'm dumb!" She wailed, prompting Ronan to give her a pat on the head. "No, you're Luna. Now get to work!"

"Owl'll lose." She whimpered as she tried to work her way through the puzzle, to find the words needed in the word search but really it all just looked like a jumbled mess to her. Her eyes darted all over the place as she tried desperately to find the words she needed. She even almost found one word but then it was missing a letter, or another one had the wrong letter in the middle so that one was wrong too. Not even making a silly pun helped her in this venture, it really was a tragedy in the end. "But Ronan, I need help." She made doe eyes at him. They were boyfriend and girlfriend now, weren't they? What kind of boyfriend would let his girlfriend suffer so?

Ronan just shrugged helplessly at her. He had to make this a fair competition, because that was the only way to arbiter something if you're in charge of candy duty. In the end Luna only found half of the words by the time Ren found it all, and the dark angel was smiling happily to himself as he held both hands out in anticipation for the candy. "Here you go. Now share the candy, you need to learn a lesson in the joy of sharing. Ren glared at the older male. "There is no joy in sharing!" He wanted to hoard the prize he had rightfully earned all to himself.

Re: Start

That word is hopefully correct. I mean I just made a new post so I hope so.

Re: Start

Word on the street is that we're alive again.

Re: Start

No, there will be no posting order.

I went in and did it for you, before you post, just copy and paste the code into the reply box.

Re: Start

Hey, I was just wondering if I forgot to do something in my post since mine lacks the whole character card portion at the top of it. And sorry if its something basic that I simply forgot to do since I rushed it a bit to get it done.

Re: Start

Hey, will there be a posting order?

We will be starting tonight, but before you post, here are a few things you should know.

☛ You have been in this world for give or take a month. While it may seem as though everyone died on the same night, in truth, everyone died around the same time. You could have been there a week longer, or maybe a few days less.

☛ You do have memories of your last life, unless you've explained that your price is the loss of memories. You have the same soul, but a different body.

☛ On the night of the full moon, your first faerie revel will take place. This will be the night the RP will start at. It is during this revel that you will discover the truth about your existence, that you've been chosen for a great journey to defeat Sorrow.

☛ What is Sorrow? Sorrow is the personification of the grief, sadness, and loneliness of the world. Should you be succumb to these feelings and be swallowed by Sorrow, you too will become a dark puppet for Sorrow to manipulate. There are ways to combat this and return to normal, these will be discovered during the RP.

☛ Have fun~

Re: Start

Hey Queen, you can go ahead and continue without me, you don't have to wait ok? You know the situation, so I probably wont be a major poster, I made Nyx and 'outsider' type because of that so there's no need to wait - I can easily just read over everything and catch up. :)

Re: Start

As of right now, we're awaiting on two people to finish their characters before we can begin. Squarenuggets is nearly half way done and Skykoko (Xue) who is hopefully beginning to finish up their bio. Thank you for your patience everyone, we'll be starting soon.

Re: Start

Yes Squarenuggets, there is one position open and it is that of the Changeling. You have forty eight hours to submit a work in progress in the CS which is posted somewhere in the OOC and five days to complete it. Please make a proper reservation if you wish to pursue the position.

Re: Start

Hey this looks extremely interesting and I was just wondering if anything else was still available.

Re: Start

Same here. He's done.

Re: Start

I have completed as well!

Re: Start

I've finished.

Re: Start

Allright I'll go for it. The WIP will be in tomorrow, but since it's Easter Sunday I probably won't be able to do a whole lot.

Re: Start

That would be a very interesting sort of haunting, I think you should go for it. Remember that once Sorrow is defeated the ghost will go away.

Re: Start

I was sort of thinking maybe he felt like he caused the death of a loved one, and constantly a ghost, or a voice would speak to him about how their death was his fault.

Re: Start

☛ TrivuLED || You have one major ability and one minor ability, shapeshifting will have to be one of them.

☛ Phantom's sword || I suggest you choose one emotion to discard, otherwise we'll end up with quite the dull Valkyrie

☛ Afreerobin || What sort of haunting? Would he be haunted by something he did in his past? Haunted by Sorrow?

☛ Victorant || A position may open, I'll be in touch if it does.

☛ Mazamazari || The Destiny Price is yours.

Re: Start

Agh I'll take the Destiny Price :o

Re: Start

It seems like everyone is having quite some difficulty with finding a price so let me give you a few ideas:

☛ Memory || Every time you cast a spell or use crucial magic, you lose one memory of your past.

☛ Feeling || The lose of an emotion like sadness or no longer being able to feel happiness. You could also lose the sensation of pain and while this may sound beneficial, it is actually quite a dangerous condition.

☛ Destiny || Every time you have a brush with death you lose a year of your life.

All of these conditions will be reversible once Sorrow has been defeated.

Re: Start

I apologize for that little disappearance, everyone's reservations seem to be in order so I'm going to put you all down. You have 48 to submit your WIP and five days to finish it. Failures to reply will be considered a strike and remember, three strikes and you're out.
