Aria subconsciously counted her steps as she walked. yes her mind was everywhere except the path she was walking on. Half of her regretted leaving the group like she had, without a word on a single explanation. But she knew they'd be okay without her. If Jackles just so happened to come before she got back, she was sure that they could handle just the same as if she would of been there. And as far as communication, they had Kat. She'd do a better job. Her one fear was that they'd come after her. And even though she'd rather have them stay where they are, something inside her hoped that they'd care enough to look for her. But that was extremely selfish of her. Their safety was always first.
The other half was strictly focused on her new side mission. It was more than clear that if it came down to a fight between them and the Jackles, they would need much more than just the four of them. Which is why she was determined to find this new guy and convince him to stay, along with anyone else who'd have the slightest bit of interest in joining their team. This way they'd have somewhat of a chance to win, or at least some sort of hope. But even though this seemed liked wishful thinking on her part, something in her gut told her that the same creatures responsible for this destructive disease, were also the only ones that had the cure.
She walked slowly, keeping her pace and heartbeat steady. She had seen the Jackles in action enough to know how to act as one. But always made sure to keep her head down. She could study their way of living and acting all she wanted and learn every single aspect of their ways down to the very heartbeat itself, but her distinctive, indescribable beauty was something she couldn't just fake.
A cold rush of wind suddenly slapped Aria back to her senses. Her jet black hair, along with the beret she had found covered half of her pale face. She had been counting her steps, yet had no idea what her feet had been up to this whole time. She took a few seconds to take in her surroundings; her heart skipped a beat once she realized where she had wandered off to. 'This is the children's ward..crap!' Somehow, without her knowledge, her feet had taken her right to the heart of the lion's den.
