Sangar: Unbalanced Power

0 INK

After the land of Sangar was saved from the Chaotic War, peace and a balance of power was formed. But a sudden unbalancement threatens to bring chaos once again to the land.

735 readers have visited Sangar: Unbalanced Power since Oblivian created it.

Introduction

Long ago, the civilizations in the land of Sangar of the four elements were prosperous. Their land was a single continent that they all shared in peace. They had advanced into four mighty empires and learned how to be one with their based on element, giving them powers to their already growing empires. But the more power they had, the more the four empires began to desire more of it. It wasn't long until all four Elemental Empires went in an inhuman war against each other. With their powers, they began to destroy the very land they shared. The once whole land of Sangar was begining to die away as it's wilderness were burnt, lands flooded, mountains crummbled, and seas froze over. It was then that two forces appeared to stop the destruction.

The Shinnens and the Darkens, races of light and darkness appeared as they combined their two opposite powers to put a stop to the Four Elemental Empires, bringing an end to the chaotic war. As punishment, the two races combined their knowledge and sealed the source of the Four Empires's powers. With the threat gone, the Shinnens and Darkens worked with the four elemental races to rebuild their land, establishing a goverment that had the Shinnens as a central goverment that the four elemental capitals answered to to maintain their powers in check. The Darkens, however, slipped away into the shadows until the day came that their partner Shinnen race would need them once again.

For centuries, Sangar had been in a balance of power among the four elemental races that covered the land.

The Pyrens, Masters of Flame. Settling mainly around the deserts and volcanic regions in the south, they are a proud race. Skilled in forging and battle, they're known for their military might and power. Their ancestors were said to have weilded a power capable of scorching lands and melting mountains. Their capital, Brencor, stands at the base of Blaze Mt., a massive active volcano.

The Aquarens, Commanders of the Sea. Settling mainly around the islands and artic regions of the north, they are a peacefull race. Skilled in sailing and knowledge, they are known for their vast collection of books that resides in their large library within the capital. Their ancestors were said to have weilded a power capable of freezing oceans and flooding continents. Their capital, Aquaria, rests on a man made peninsula that overlooks the Artic Sea farther north.

The Aeorens, Conductors of the Wind. Settling mainly in the forests and ruins of the west, they are a free race. Skilled in hunting and studying ruins, they settle in the ruins of their ancestor's empire, being known for having the most knowledge of their past. Their ancestors were said to have weilded a power capable of giving them flight and to bring about storms across the land. Their capital, Skypia, resides in the ruins of their ancestor's own capital, surrounding a large ancient tower that extends into the sky.

The Terrins, Lords of the Earth. Settling mainly in the plains and mountain regions of the east, they are strict race. Skilled in agriculture and minning, they are a main source of resources. Their ancestors were said to have weilded a power capable of bringing down mountains and shaking the very land. Their capital, Gaienia, is placed in the center of the Gaia Mountain Range, using the very terrain as a large defence.

In the center of what remained of the land of Sangar, stands the mighty Holy Empire that watches over them all. Home of the Shinnen race, Weilders of Light. They have long kept their promise to their Darken partner race and mantained power in the land of Sangar. For many years, they had remained as the only race with power, until one faithfull event occurred.

Little by little, people of the other races began to have offsprings that were able to use abit of the power their kind had been sealed from. Nervously, the Shinnens contacted their Darken brothers, for they were the ones that specialized in the making of the seal they used. It was then revealed that the Darkens had planned for the seal to slowly fade away, believing the other races could learn to not repeat their ancestor's mistakes and so there wouldn't be one race governing the rest. Taking it as a sign of treason, the Shinnens attacked their Darken brothers for the sake of "justice". The Darkens, having lived a apart from the world for so many centuries, were no match for the grown power of the Shinnens as they were wiped out.

It was annouced to the other races that the Darkens had planned to bring the Chaotic War once again to Sangar, and so were punished for their crime. It was then that the unbalance of power began. With the destruction of the Darkens, the Shinnens began to grow in power, "consumed" in their own righteous light. They began to hunt down the offsprings that were awakening to their ancestor's powers to avoid any of them growing in power. The once brilliant light of justice had begun to show signs of being tainted.

But not all of the Darkens were gone. A child had managed to escape from the destruction of his home, having been raised in a nearby town that the locals that found him lived. But when word slipped of a survivor of the "Demonic Darken Race", as they were titled, the Shinnen army quickly captured him. Now, as a sign of "true peace" they plan to execute the last Darken in public for all to see. The land of Sangar goes into a state of mixed ideas of this soon to arrive event as it draws near. Not many even knowing that this young man's death would mean the continuing unbalance of power and corruption.

Now, only one hope remains for balance to be returned to Sangar, and that hope and the truth behind it all rests in the remains of the ancient ruins across Sangar.

Info

Basicly the RP will build as it goes on, but the main plot will be in the returning balance between the powers of the races and stopping the corruption of the Shinnens.

World

Sangar appears as a large continent broken up abit. Rivers that flow across the land divide most of the regions and each race has their own terrain type that they mainly live. To the North, the land is broken up more then the rest, forming islands. Even more north, the sea begins to freeze over, forming the Artic Region. Southward are the deserts, followed by the volcanic region farther south. To the west are mainly wilderness, and to the East is made up of rocky terrain and plains. In the center, all these terrains mix to form a calm grassland where the Holy Empire of the Shinnen stands.

Races Info

All of the races have similar human appearances. But they each have a coloring that seperates them from the other races, as in certain hair and eye coloring that represents their race. Apart from that, they resseamble each other well.

Arriving closer to the main gates of the Holy Shinnen Kingdom, a prison wagon rolled up to the gates, mounted and armed men sorrounding hold as teh driver calls out to the gate gaurds. Looking down from their posts, they nod, opening the gates below. As the wagon rolls in, one of the mounted soilders by it's side peers into a small sliding window to check on the prisoner.

Within the wagon sat a young man chained and shackled to the seat as he looks over at guard looking at him, giving the gaurd a serious face as the gaurd slams the window shut. "Demonic bastard." The soilder mutters to himself as he looks back ahead of him. The wagon continued to go through kingdom's streets, taking the prisoner toward the castle for his execution. Around, people that spotted it talked among themselves.

"Is that it?"
"It's the Darken that survived."
"That demonic child deserves it."
"What if it tries to escape?"
"Don't be silly, our Empires finest are keeping watch."

Sikes could hear the peoples words from inside, letting out a deep sigh. "Idiots...blinded by power they think that kill me off will set things straight now..." As the wagon went along, it drew closer to the castle, the execution platform set up at the front gates of it for giving the people a public execution of the last "Demonic Darken".

Ray was standing outside the throne room, pacing back and fourth and biting his bottom lip. He had to stop this execution from happening--but how was he supposed to do this, exactly? Even being the prince, he still had his limitations on where he could go and if he did this...his father, and his people, would probably never forgive him. Those immoral fools! How could his own people stand by and watch as a man is openly murdered and feel joyous about such an event? It was simply wrong. He didn't want to be the ruler of a kingdom full of people like that.

Ray was just about to enter the throne room to give his father yet another piece of his mind--because it had worked so well so many other times before--he quickly decided against it. If he wanted to actually do this, he would have to be sneaky. He looked out a nearby window and saw the prison wagon nearing its destination. The prisoner would be kept in this wagon until the king arrived on the balcony to announce that the demon Darken remainder be taken to the execution. If he could just get to the wagon and cover him somehow...but with all those people around, he wasn't sure how it would be possible.

He suddenly snapped his fingers and ran to his room, grabbing a dark hooded jacket and putting it on. He carefully placed his prized sword into the sheath connected to his hip and then started down to the area where the execution would take place. Before leaving the palace, he carefully looked around, before placing the hood over his head to where it covered his facial features and heading towards the crowd of people.

"A Darken, huh?" Michaline thought to herself, watching the wagon move along the bridge from her post atop an abandoned building. "Thought they were all extinct. I wonder when the execution is. That would probably be my best time to move. Security will be scarce. Well, relaxed at least." A small flamming bird tore itself off of her skin, standing on her shoulder. "Follow it. Tell me exactly where they lock him up. And if you can ind anything out about the execution time, that would be helpful, Se'qual." The littel bird gave a flaming chirp, and flew off. Michaline watched the wagon until it was out of sight, and then turned her back on the city, making her way to the underground sewers.

Enzo was gathered at the gallows where the Darken boy was going to be killed. There were crowds of people flocking into the clearing that had been empty just moments ago. They were spewing profanities about the Darken and arguing with each other about exactly how they should go about killing the child. It was terrible and the propaganda that was being fed to the people by the king was all a bunch of lies. It was almost ridiculous how easily everyone here was so swayed by this to the point where they felt more powerful than anyone else in the world. Enzo just watched these low level scum bags laugh and flaunt their power over whoever that was watching them. He wasn't exactly sure who they were trying to impress yet; It didn't really matter. The only thing that mattered at this moment was to find a way to get this Darken 'demon' child out of this and to safety to help create a perfect balance within the world.
He began to walk through the crowds as the carriage came into the courtyard of the gallows. He also noticed the king and his son Ray. He knew Ray fairly well and had had several times to speak with him. He was nothing like his father. From what he knew about reading people, Enzo could tell that Ray didn't like the way he ran the Sangar. He thought of him as a tyrant and a dictator who only did things his way. Ray was a smart child and he knew that no one could make up his mind for the child.
Enzo needed to do this now or never. If he waited much longer he would be struggling so much with guards that he wouldn't be able to save him and he could possibly die also. He did want to make this a spectacle though. If he was going to do this, he wanted to sway the trust in the people for their king as well. Make them think this was all his doing. Everything was set up and it was going to go as planned. He just had to wait for the very moment that he saw right to pull this off perfectly.

The same mutters were heard all along the trip as Sikes closed his eyes the rest of the way, thinking. If he could just manage to break froo from the chains, the rest of the escape would end up being easy. Even more to his favor would be the fact that his blade, since it was made of a rare mineral, was being held by the surounding soilders to be taken to be given to their ruler. But if he can't get out of these chains and shackles, that will stay as an idea.

As the wagon finally pulled up to the gallows, it stationed itself infront of it, having the door to face the stairs that lead up onto it. Time was getting close to the schedualed execution as all that was left was for the King himself to arrive into the scene to announce the event. People gathered around the wagon, some of them just curious as to how the Demonic Race looked like, while others just wanted to shout out more insults to the deadly survivor. Sikes rage began to grow abit, as a slightly sparking black energy gathered abit in his hands before it faded off. "Guess there's no real hope in even fighting it now. All of the bastards in this Kingdom are blinded by a single title."

"You are...a Darken, yes?" A small vioce that seemed to burn flittered through Sikes' head. "Please...do not be alarmed. My name is Se'qual. My master wishes information." The little bird was perched atop the stone wall behind the gallows. "Oh dear...are they executing you now? Very well...you will know my Master by her tattoos." The voice then faded, with no answers to the questions that surely buzzed about the Darken's head. The bird flew away, leaving a small trail of flame in its wake.

Michaline glanced up as the bird came fluttering back to her, relaying it's information. "They would just go and execute him now. Oh how tiresome. Oh well, money is money." She grabbed her cloack, leaving her shoulder wher the bird was "tattooed" exposed, to be clearly seen. She put her hood up, and took her leave, headed toward the gallows.

Ray scanned the crowd. He noted some of the faces of the people he'd seen frequently working around the castle and some as passer-by's. He knew few of their faces and even less of their names. T'was the life of a lowly Prince being stuck up inside the castle gates, behind metaphorically barred windows and doors. But freedom was so close he could taste it. Nervousness twisted in the pit of his stomach as he shoved through the nameless, faceless brutes, hood secured over his face. He finally paused at the edge of a small wagon. It was covered and he couldn't see through it aside from the light rays of sunlight shining through it.

Looking around, he ducked as a strange bird flew over his head and continued on past the palace gates. Ignoring it, Ray put a hand to his chin as he peered around the wagon at the guards. Lazy bums, he thought as they relaxed and flirted with some of the prettier faces in the nearby crowd. If he were king, he would have them fired for shirking such important duties. However, their lazy, easily distracted nature was just what he needed. Glancing around to make sure nobody was watching, he ducked over the line and around the other side of the wagon where the door was.

Taking a deep breath, he released it as he uncovered just a smidgen of the cover over the door to peer inside the dusty, shadowed area. He was just barely able to make out the figure sitting inside. Why, he looked like a normal man. Maybe dressed a little oddly, but definitely no different than any other person standing here to watch his execution. Ray growled to himself as he felt fury build up inside him once more. What idiots! Jerks! Pigs! They had no idea what they were egging on, did they? Of course not! Those...those... "Ignorant, oblivious, moronic, weasels!" he cursed to himself.

"Hey!" Ray cupped his hand, calling to the man inside the wagon with a low whisper. "Psssst. Are you a dangerous man? You do not appear to be." He glanced around once more. He thought he saw another figure approaching, but waved it off. If anything, that just meant he had to act quicker. "I am here to free you," he beamed heroically cliche, "so no need to be afraid any longer."

To many things happened at once as a voice in his head spoke to him regarding someone with tattoes that will be saving him, not replying to what seemed to have been a bird giving the mental message. Some person thinking it would be funny to try and give a glimmer of hope, he thought. But not long after, someone came up to the wagon's door talking all high and mighty about saving him and not having to be scared. This time, he couldn't help but reply.

"Scared? What gave you the slightest idea that I was scared? Besides, if were really here to save me, wouldn't you already get these shackles off before any of the "elite gaurds" spot you?" He asks, sarcasticly, but also trying to tempt him incase he was bluffing. If he was, he just needed this stranger to just slightly undo the shackles that were blocking his powers, and he could do the rest with ease. Keeping his face toward the floor, he just turned his eyes toward the slightly opened door, avoiding anyone that might be watching of him facing the door.

Walking down the back of the gallows, he noticed Ray was standing outside of the wagon and soon after opening it. Things are going better than I planned. He began to rush to the wagon, just to make sure the kid didn't run when Ray released him. Things would just get out of hand if that happened and he didn't want to go chasing after a man who was wanted dead. It would not turn out the right way.
Once he made it to the wagon, he saw that Ray was about to loosen the lock. He noticed that the kid who was locked up had some sort of bad intentions of escape.
"If you even try anything funny, I will not hesitate to cut you're throat." He glared at the kid and flashed him a small glance of his dagger. "You might be important to the balance of the world, but everyone has done things that make them deserving of death and despite you're importance, I will not tolerate anything."
He sighed and looked over at Ray, "Get on with it already before someone sees us!"

Ray was just reaching over to release the locks and chains from the imprisoned man when a voice behind him almost made him jump out of his skin. He almost shouted, but quickly caught himself and looked back with wide, blue eyes at the intruder. He was met with a familiar face of an acquainted--a man named Enzo that Ray had met on many occasions and spoken to in passing. "What are you doing?" he asked in a hushed voice, looking around quickly to make sure they hadn't yet been noticed. He sighed to calm his nerves and turned back to Sikes with a calmer expression. "Yes yes, my apologies, sir. You'll be tasting freedom in no time."

Twisting the chains a little more, Ray realized he was too weak to snap them himself. He frowned in frustration and decided to just go ahead and snap his fingers, his hands becoming enveloped in a gleaming light that he used to zap through the metal chains and snap them right off the man in the wagon. Standing back, he smiled proudly of his work. "You, sir, are free to go. You should hurry, though." Ray removed his dark hooded jacket, risking revealing himself, and handed it over to Sikes. "Put this on so you can sneak through the crowd and escape."

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

well that kind of stinks -_-

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

okay, I'm sorry guys...i have to drop this one. The last two RP's I've created, the Energy Weilders and The Council of Seven, have both took off so good and solidly, I don't have time for anything else on RPG.com. I feel bad about dropping, but I don't really have any other chioce. Sorry guys...

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

Twili- If you are waiting for me to post don't bother. I'm waiting for you too. In order for my idea to work, Sikes needs to be kidnapped before I post.

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

Don't worry about how he gets framed or found out. I had already have an idea for that. So Enzo will do that and then catch up with everyone else after the kidnapping has taken place. If that's alright.

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

Glad we're all good with that. XD Now let's get it going then XP

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

Sounds good to me. xD So they recognize each other, something happens to where it's openly noted that the Prince had something to possibly do with the prisoner getting free (I don't care what--even if he didn't do anything and he was framed or something, just as long as it gives me an excuse to have him exiled or flee from the kingdom), and then the bounty hunter takes the prisoner and wah-lah. I'm good with that if everyone else is?

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

Hmmm....I kinda like that Idea :3

And if any of you are intersted, please check out my new RP!

roleplay/warriors-of-altraz-the-rising/

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

Wow, everyone is fighting over me. That's a first XDDD

Anyway, I think I got an idea laid out.

Both Bounty Hunter AND Prince try to get the "Demonic Prisoner" at the same time, crossing paths along the way. How does that sound to you both?

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

Exactly. Just do what you planned to do and it will all be good.

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

(You mean before Michaline kidnaps him, right?) And as for for Enzo and Ray knowing each other that well, I'm all for it.

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

Enzo is a noble, but is being used by the King of the aquarians as a spy. He has been trained and all. As for my position in this, I was thinking that he could try free Sikes and then bring him back to the Aquarians where he could be safe. That is, before things get a little complicated and Ray kidnaps the guy. He will then track them down and try to get Sikes to safety.
Oh and Spectrum, I was thinking that Enzo and Ray would know each other well enough too know each other's names and a little bit about each other.

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

Well, I was sort of hoping Ray could rescue him to where his father would find out and he'd be outcast (or run away in fear of death) from the kingdom. I just needed it as an excuse to get him exiled from the kingdom. Is that okay with you, Twili? You could probably still kidnap him later (if he's okay with that--I'm just trying to come up with another idea) and offer him as a ransom after Ray freed him.

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

I posted, as a heads up. And Oblivion, since both of the other characters are nobles, or royalty, or whatever you guys are (Sorry, haven't had much of a chance to look at your profiles yet) I figured Michaline, since she's a Bounty Hunter, will "rescue" Sikes with the thought of getting a ransom for him. Until of course she finds out just how important he really is. :3

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

That's understandable. Since Enzo is a spy and Ray is the prince of the kingdom you're spying on, they could have met in passing a few times and talked or something along stronger lines if that's what you're thinking?

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

I will probably be posting in two hours from now.
To spectrum, I think that since we both have royal type characters that both our characters should know eachother to some degree. Especially since Enzo's job is to specifically get to know the workings of the system.

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

OK, I think these 4 characters we got now look like a good start for this RP. I'll be doing the first post now. XD

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

Thanks for accepting my character!

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

That sounds pretty good, and yes it is king type goverment.

Also, I'd like the people already accepted to let me know if your still around. I have been away for afew days so want to see if some of you haven't thought I ditched this.

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

I'm not quite sure how you have the regal control ideas (like if you have kings, queens, and princes, or if you just have a government and president). But, if it's the king-type deal, would I be allowed to make a Shinnen prince character? He would be someone who could easily save your character considering he'd already be there in the trust of everyone else in the kingdom. Then I have a few other ideas for him. If that would work to whatever you have planned. If not, then I would still like to make some other type of character.

Re: [OOC] Sangar: Unbalanced Power

Of course it wouldn't be a story then.
