A thriller set in the enigma of space.

Introduction

Welcome I'm still hammering out the details into words with which you will read and then be interested in, hopefully. For now, enjoy.

Foreword:

I feel as though I should state this first. This is a MATURE roleplay. It will contain plot lines, ideas, writing, language and other things that will most likely be deemed not suitable for those of the faint heart or underage. While anything extremely site breaking should be done elsewhere so as not to get me/yourselves banned because unfortunately censorship is censorship. And, you probably won't have too much time on your hands for such acts anyway.

Most of the plot will be hidden from you at the start but will be revealed and twisted as the story moves forward. While I have a main arc planned and ready I am always up for the small details that players twist just by existing and interacting with one another and the story itself. I watch these closely so as to not stray from the end goal but I do tend to encourage this as it adds diversity and realism and an overall good feeling when it pans out. So, there's that. Character generation is simple enough, just fill in each of the already provided boxes. Skipping over equipment for now as you won't begin with anything. For description feel free to have a picture included but be sure to provide a text description as well. Note this is going to be set in the not entirely distant future, I'm thinking like a thousand years. More information on character generation in that section though. Let us see, OOC's will be generated and named accordingly please use them. I'll add and subtract from this as I feel fit until it is fully prepared to watch for future content, which I'll note in the OOC.

Plot:

We are in space in the future. You will awaken with little memory of why you are there and even who you are. But it will gradual flow back to you over the course of the early progression.

For character creation:
It's year 3024, obviously the Earth hasn't exploded and the sun hasn't died. No apocalyptic event had shattered our planet and our growth went unchecked beyond a few small wars. So basically, life as normal. Your characters are from a few different walks of life all volunteered to be a part of one of the first of many expeditions to a new planet discovered over a hundred years back. For whatever reason you volunteered, may it be from wanting that adventure, the money that was offered (Seven-hundred thousand dollars), or whatever. You were trained for ten years in a program designed by the company, "Sepex Industries". They are the ones funding and overseeing the entire operation for "a push to a new future".

If you had an occupation that would be worth it such as being a doctor, farmer, scientist, engineering or the like you may have been asked aboard the expedition. If not you might have been trained in something to help your usefulness in the mission. Either way their will be staff filling any of the necessary roles so you can feel free to do as you please. Just be sure to include a brief history of your life before the mission began. Also most of this won't matter once the story begins anyway.

This is not the first ship to head to the planet. Just the first with civilians intending to populate it, and media coverage.

Extra info:
I felt as though I didn't give any information geared towards what you could expect from the actual storyline. So here is a small tidbit.
When the group awakens they will find out that the entire ship has gone silent. They may or may not be the only things still alive on the ship. There may or may not have been some horrifying something or another to have done something to something. You may or may not have lobster during the course of this role-play. Also, you may or may not get eaten through the course of the role-play. Who knows what's in store for us! o.-

But for real, there will have been something that has gone wrong. This will be a horror thriller wrapped inside a mystery in space burrito.

Setting:

The role-play will take course on a space ship I've yet to name.

Image

There will be various level's, rooms, corridor's, labs and the like throughout the massive ship. So just expect normal ship type stuff.

Character Creation:

While I've already touched on this a few times it is the third biggest thing you will do in the entire roleplay being overshadowed only by your interest in it, and your participation.

Name: Whatever you want, just keep it human.

Synopsis: Whatever.

Avatar: Something related to your character.

Description: Pics may be included but you must include a text version as well. Since you will spend most but not all of your time inside the ship you should dress accordingly.

Personality: Your character.

History: Be in-depth and just touch on major points in their life leading up into volunteering and perhaps part of your particular training, if any.

I skipped Equipment as you will be leaving that one blank since you will start with nothing at first.

4) Enjoy your stay! And please try to check the role play every day. And plan to post once every day.
5) Plan to be active and interactive.
6) My word is law.
7) As long as the affected players consent shadow playing another character is accepted within reason.

It was dark in he room even with the faint glow coming from the cold-sleep pods. These were some of the few still working, he'd been wandering for what had to have been a day in the ship. Brock scratched his head slowly as he peered in from the doorway. He hadn't seen another working or even occupied pod in any of the areas he'd checked. He still couldn't remember anything but his name. He'd found a locker in the room with him that had his name on it. It had his thing but none of the things that were supposed to trigger memories did.

Confused he had searched the entire room, all the pods had been empty and lockers still fully stocked. Most of the doors on the ship seemed to be locked or offline so he hadn't been able to explore much of the area, but he somehow knew that he was in one of the lower decks where much of the cold-sleep pods were stationed.

Quickly he moved from the doorway towards the first working pod it had the name, "Heron, A." Label across the glass in bold white letters. Taking his hand he wiped the surface of the glass revealing a middle aged looking man. The frost was starting to cake over his body. He shuddered thinking of his awakening. The door jammed to his pod trapping him inside. Near naked in his skintight cryo-suit, freezing and without memory he pounded on the inside of his pod ripping the tubes from his body. He was trapped in the pod for what felt likes days before a tremor ran through the ship and reset the power in his pod. The door unlocked and he quickly forced the pod open.

Brock left the pod alone for the moment moving about the small room, checking each of the frosted pods. Everything was empty again even some of the working ones. Sighing he was about to give up when he noticed he'd missed one. He went over to the glass and peered inside. It was another older man, the glass read, "Jhonson, R." Why were these two still here and all the other pods he'd found empty. What was going on? He thought to himself as he moved about the room.

He was standing near Jhonson's pod getting ready to start the awakening process, something that had just dawned on him, when a tremor ran through the ship. And a loud beep went off as the door to the room locked. Brock ran over to the door trying to open it. While he was screaming at the panel all the pods in the room that were still working started to hum. They were starting the defrosting process. He stopped trying to get through to the keylock and went to wait for the two of them to thaw, he really didn't have any other choice.

Rick fell to the cold metallic floor, dazed and confused Rick tried to remember where he was. He opened his eyes trying to absorb his surroundings; trying to find any source of information that could help him answer his questions. As he got to his feet he saw a man standing some 15 feet away from him.

Rick panicked, whatever happened he must be behind it. Rick scanned the room for anything he could use to defend himself. He saw the man closing in on him and adrenaline started rushing through his body. He saw a loose metal pipe on the floor; he lunged for it. He picked the pipe with one hand and pointed it at the man who was now saying something but Rick wasn’t paying attention.

“Stand Back or I’ll crack your head open” yelled Rick. “Who are you? And What happened here?”

Stepping back from where he'd been standing when the pod labeled "Jhonson" opened, the man stumbled out half out his mind. Similar to how he felt after he realized he'd been trapped in the tube. At first he hadn't been panicked till he tried to open that door. The man had quickly found a pipe that had fallen lose from the ceiling which was starting to fall apart in this area.
"Wonder how long we've been here." Brock mumbled aloud before looking to the aggressive man blankly.

"My name is Brock. I'm not sure what's going on here." He stepped back moving to where he could see the other still active pod. "As far as I know, we're the only two people alive. Your last name is Jhonson. I know your first name begins with an R. I don't know your name, and I'm not sure if you do. It took me a minute for everything to come back. Some of the important things are missing such as why I was still asleep, and why no one was around to wake any of us up yet."

He sighed as he stared at the older man. "What do you remember?"

“What do you remember” Says the man.

Rick Staggered back almost falling; he tries to understand the words but they ring hollow in his skull. He was weak and could barely hold the pipe in his hands anymore; he used the pipe as a cane to try and avoid falling.

After a while of staring at the man Rick finally understands what the man said. I can’t let him now that I don’t remember anything or he’ll use that against me. He was not strong enough to defend himself, even with the pipe so he decided to make some conversation while he found a way to escape. Rick looks around trying to figure out a way to escape when he sees the pod that he assumed was holding him.

“I was in the pod …….” Rick reluctantly says “Sleeping ….. In suspended animation” The word came to Rick without really knowing its meaning. Before the man could respond Rick saw the glass in the pod and the name R. Johnson written in it and said “My name is Johnson, who are you?”

As I already told you, my name is Brock. I'm guessing you are still being affected by the disorientation. It took me sometime to shake most of it." He sighed slowly as he glanced at his hands, they were shaking. He stilled himself as he stared at the older man. He really looked shaken, and confused. Brock wondered if that's how he'd looked when he first emerged. Things were starting to come back to him but it was all a blur. All he could remember really was the word jolly and the sudden flash of anger when he thought about.

Taking a step back again he looked to the pod labeled, "Heron, A." It had stopped working and began slowly opening. A fog of cold air rolled out into the warm air of the room. It was getting rather warm now that he thought about. The man inside the pod seemed to slump inside it, Brock stepped forward to examine him. Nothing in particular jumped out at him but he could tell the man was still breathing, it was labored and almost non-existent but it was there.

"Are you a medic? I think this man is still alive." He grabbed the body delicately as he dragged him from the pod and laid him on the ground. "I'm not sure what's going on but this man may remember more then we do, so I'd like to find out." He really didn't know what was going on at all yet, and was running on instinct. The door locking and these pods opening was definitely not coincidence.

“My name is Brock” he heard the man say. “I'm guessing you are still being affected by the disorientation. It took me sometime to shake most of it.”

Rick started to calm down at the realization that this man meant no ill will towards him. Rick observed his surroundings and as he did he started to feel a sense of wellbeing. The metal and glass and plastic made him feel at home.
Rick lowered the metal pipe in his hand; he noticed Brock was moving towards another man. Rick slowly moved towards them, not 2 seconds later he stops at the sound of Brock’s voice "Are you a medic? I think this man is still alive."

“No, I don’t …. I don’t think I am” Said Rick.

"I'm not sure what's going on but this man may remember more than we do, so I'd like to find out" said Brock.

Yeah, remembering seems important thought Rick. “Yeah let me look around see if I can find anything that can help” shouted Rick as he turned around. He was looking for something, anything, nothing; he really couldn’t remember his name let alone how to help others. But he searched and looked and checked, trying not to go too far away from the Brock, trying to find anything that seemed familiar.

The man on the ground was still breathing, he didn't have much medical experience but he had taken some first aid courses along with some CPR courses. He had this training refreshed during his training with Jolly Industries. That's when he stopped his examination of the man on the ground and actually thought about what he'd just remembered. Anger was welling inside him again, and it made his brain thump. The pain seared across his mind from one side of his brain to the other. With a grunt he threw his left hand up rubbing his temple. Slowly he began to stand up, the pain was receding and his vision was blurred. It would be obvious that something was wrong hence Brock grunting in pain, holding his head, and then wincing his way to his feet and wobbling his way to the closest wall before bracing himself against it. As far as he could remember there was no reason for pain like this, and it made him feel lost. Staring through blurred vision he could see that the other man was at least starting to calm down. With a long drawn out sigh Brock would start to say, "Woah, that was a ru-." But before he finish the sentence the memories started to flood into his mind. They whirled about in his minds eye as he tried to grasp and recognize each of them. He fell to his knees a look of pure confusion plastered on his face.

This went on for a few minutes before he silently sat there staring from the man on the ground to other one who had been too busy searching to really notice what had just happened. But that's why he noticed when the door hissed unlocked. The red beacon that had been flashing above the door turned green and it the locked released with a protestant hiss. By that time Brock had regained himself and was hovering over the man on the ground again, tending to what he could. He wasn't a real medic after all.

Rick Slowly approached Brock, still a little confused. “Couldn’t find anything” Rick said. “I don’t think I help, I can’t remember my name let alone first aid stuff.”
Rick sat on the floor and stared at the sleeping man. At lest he hoped he was sleeping. Brock was right, maybe he knows something about what happened to us.
Rick’s head was thumping pretty hard, the adrenaline of those first few minutes of his reanimation had kept him from noticing it but now his headache was in full force.
“I need to find something for my headache” Said Rick whil he jumped to his feet. He started looking around unsure of what to do.

During his examination of the man he noticed something weird. He was examining his head when he felt a scar at the back of the man's head. He turned the guy's head and examined it further. There was a scar running down from the top of his head to the base of his neck. It felt and looked recent. His hair had grown over it already though, so he'd almost missed it. He didn't think it was a big enough deal to say anything but it was definitely strange. After his quick examination he turned to the other man, Rick, and said, "Calm down man. It'll be okay."

Brock stood up slowly as he reached up with his left hand and scratched at the back of his head thinking. "Well the door unlocked a few minutes ago, so we can leave the room in a moment. First I'd like to just do a quick check on you to make sure you are okay. You seem to have calmed down since coming out of the pod. This guy seems okay but he hasn't woke up yet so I'm not sure what's wrong with him." He looked to Rick questioningly as he mentioned the quick exam.

Rick looked at him sort of hesitant before saying, "Yeah, sure I guess." Which was good because he didn't want to force one on him. Brock moved close as he checked Rick in general. Looking for any sign of broken bones, unusual pains. He didn't find anything wrong with Rick at all. Which was a good thing he guessed. "Seems like you are fine, the headache should pass soon it's from the sleep. Now I think the best thing we can do now is just leave this room. I mean you are welcome to stay here but you two are actually the first people I've seen since I woke up. That's saying something since this one is still unconscious and I'm not even sure why."

Shaking his head he turned towards the door and began to head out of the room. The door slid open as he closed in on them. Stepping out into the hallway he looked back toward where he had come from. The lights had gone out for the most part in the passageway. There were still a few flickering here and there. He knew from his recent exploration that to his right was the dead end he came from. A small elbow shaped hallway with various empty sleeper rooms lining the walls. He'd checked each of them as he passed, well the ones that were unlocked. There was a keypad for each of them as well as scanner, probably for cards. But he didn't know the information or have a card obviously. He looked to the left and could see the hallway went on for at least another forty feet before turning again. He couldn't tell which way from this distance but he knew the stairs were in that direction.

Before coming into this room he'd been formulating a plan. The power to these sectors were obviously beginning to fail. For whatever reason the core was either dying or had been tampered with. This was all just a little to strange for him. There hadn't been a sign of struggle anywhere, and he still hadn't come up with a scenario where any of this made sense. There should be so many more people...

Rick stood still while Brock made his examination. He started to feel better, he was no longer shaking and the headache was subsiding. Rick started noticing stuff now that his mind started to work properly. He noticed the flicker of the lights as if power was failing. He noticed the empty hibernation capsules. He noticed Brock leaving the room.

“Hey wait for me,” Said Rick when he saw Brock stand at the now opened door. “What are we going to do about that guy? Are we just going to leave him there?”

His plan was simple. He was going to search the entire ship and find out what was going on. At first it was merely just to find other people, but when he finally did. It hadn't helped him any. He was about to start walking when the other man, Rick, called out to him. Brock turned slowly looking back at the man on the ground.

"Well, we can't drag him along with us. I haven't seen any reason not to just leave him like that. He seems to be okay but I don't know why he isn't getting up. So unless you want to drag him after us, I think he'll be safe enough in there." Brock shrugged he really didn't have any reason to think otherwise so it seemed logical enough. With that he finished walking out of the room and paused. "As I figure you don't have anything else to do. I don't mind if you follow me." And with that he turned to make his way towards the end of the hall.

The ship was only getting darker as they moved through it. They were still in the lower decks and hadn't found anyone else. Brock was becoming more familiar with the ship as they went though. He knew that they didn't have much left of this part of the deck before they had to decide where to go next. Every room was either empty or locked. Though they still looked empty through the small window. The only sounds they heard were themselves echoing through the emptiness.

Brock stopped at the bottom of the ladder leading up into one of the main passageways. He peered up into the darkness of the shaft. It wasn't far up but it should be plenty bright from the lights between the ladder rungs and in the main hallway it lead into.

"Up above here is one of the main passageways, I am slowly remembering my way around. But seeing as we haven't seen anyone so far, it's starting to get creepy." He passively itched at the back of his head while thinking of what to say next. "I know that at least this part of the ship is losing power, which if I remember right means most of the ship will be going dark soon. I'm not an engineer or anything but I do remember that this is one of backup supplied decks. If this area has been losing power you can bet that a lot of this ship is dark. I just can't get over the fact that there isn't any one else."

He looked at Rick while he was rattling off. The area they'd just gone through wasn't just a few hallways. They had been searching for what had to be at least two hours. This deck was supposed to house all the crew in rotation. And this was a big ship.
